“hmm…” you pondered to yourself, wandering through the hall looking for potential candidates to help you.

you weren’t sure if this task was even a part of your class president responsibilities, but you couldn’t not help when your teacher had asked you to, (you were unfortunately very weak to people asking for help, but you chose to see it as a positive point).

when you had seen the horrendously chaotic state of the supply closet, you weren’t sure how your teacher had thought that you would be able to get the absolutely giant box of class handouts out of there by yourself, especially given he hadn’t been able to get it out himself. nevertheless, you decided to take the task on, setting out to find a good partner to help you out.

except, you’d run into a bit of problem.

every person you had approached had immediately run away, telling you some half-assed excuse to get out of it. it left you in a bit of a pickle; you now felt obligated to grab this massive box, but you probably would crush yourself if you tried to grab it by yourself.

however, when you saw a flash of blue hair walking by, you finally found the solution to your dilemma.

“souya-kun!” you called out, turning on your heel to catch up with him. he perked up at the sound of his name, looking back to glance at you. “hi! do you have a spare moment?” you asked, walking with him.

“i think so…” he answered, his soft voice contrasting his stony expression.

“perfect! do you think you could help me with something real quick?” you asked, putting your hands together in an effort to move him. “it won’t take more than ten minutes of your time! i can’t do it by myself, but the teacher asked me to grab this ginormous box and i can’t leave until i bring it to the classroom!”

“oh, okay.”

“yes! thank you so much! you’re truly a lifesaver!!” you exclaimed, relief flooding through you, (you’d been starting to feel a bit worried you would have to just pray to god that you wouldn’t get crushed by a box). “it’s not that far away from here!”

“alright.” angry answered, following you as you led him down the hall. he was quiet throughout the short walk, not attempting to make any sort of conversation with you. the silence wasn’t unnoticed by you, but you found that it was calm and nice rather than awkward and uncomfortable, which was something you could appreciate, (somehow, you found silence rather hard to come by nowadays).

when the two of you reached the supply closet, souya quietly followed you inside, looking around a bit at the cluttered mess of everything in the room. the door clicked closed behind him, which made you sigh a bit, glancing around the room to see if there was anything heavy enough to use as a doorstopper.

the mess of things around the room made it hard to even see everything that was there, which made you sigh, shaking your head.

“i’m not sure why it’s so messy in here…honestly, i’ll probably take a bit to straighten things out here before i go home.” you said. “i don’t know how anybody let it get this messy.”

souya didn’t respond to you, instead seeming to be thinking thoughtfully about something. his silence brought you back to the task at hand, moving a few things out of the way of where the box was on the shelf.

“okay, anyways, i just need help grabbing this box real quick, but let me prop open the door first…” you grabbed a nearby stool that seemed heavy enough to do the job, walking over to the door and grabbing the handle.

rattle.

“hah…lemme try again…” you muttered nervously, putting the stool down and putting all your focus on the doorknob. you praying that you’d just had a bad try at the doorknob and that it was not in fact locked.

rattle.

once again, the doorknob didn’t budge, only rattling in place as you tried to open the door.

“no way…seriously??” you said in shock, shaking the doorknob as you kept trying to open the door. “why the hell does a supply closet have an auto-lock door…?” you slowly turned around, facing souya with a sheepish expression on your face.

the boy only looked back at you, a bit confused at the fact that you’d been muttering to yourself for the past thirty seconds.

“uh, the door…it’s locked…” you explained. “please tell me you have your phone on you.”

“smiley’s phone died, so he’s using mine right now for something.”

“oh my god…and i left mine in the classroom…” you admitted, smacking your hand against your face. “okay, actually, it’s fine. someone will walk by and hear me if i start screaming, right?” you pondered. “i’m not sure how long i can scream for though…”

you heard a small thump! as souya sat himself on the floor of the closet, his knees pulled to his chest as he suddenly buried his face in his arms.

“gah! souya-kun!” you exclaimed, rushing over and kneeling down next to him. “are you alright?! i’m so sorry, this is all my fault!!”

“smiley will be worried if i’m gone for too long…” souya murmured, his voice a bit shaky now.

you hovered over him, unsure of what to do in this situation. in all honesty, you didn’t personally know him too well; of course, you’d heard all the rumors about the kawata twins a million times over, but you’d only really talked to souya in passing and through tutoring sessions you gave the both of them, (when they actually showed up to school).

you wouldn’t have guessed that he was so sensitive, but you supposed you should have figured. after all, souya always had a soft and kind voice when talking, and he was always so nice and respectful to you that it made you forget all the rumors about him.

“hey, it’s okay. i’ll get us out of here, no problem!” you assured, (you had no idea how you were going to get out of here). you sprung back up, looking around for anything that could help you.

of course, there’s literally only junk in here. what was i thinking?

and so, you proceeded to bang against the door for ten minutes.

you eventually stopped, rubbing your sore shoulder as you kneeled down next to souya. he hadn’t moved or said anything else at all, which was worrying you a little bit.

“okay, i think i lied…i’m sorry. i don’t know how to get out of here. but! i’m sure someone will find us eventually!” you said, trying your best to assure the boy in front of you.

what to do, what to do…

you sat down on the floor next to him, shuffling a bit closer to him, (you had to admit, it was a bit daunting that you two were currently locked in a closet, but you chose to put it out of your mind).

“y’know, when i was younger i beat someone up.” you randomly admitted. souya’s head perked up at this, which made you feel a bit more confident in continuing with your story. “yeah, i haven’t told anybody ‘cause i’m not sure how that would reflect on me as class president…but i mean, he totally had it coming, y’know?!” you exclaimed, your expression reflecting your true emotions on the incident. “he was being such an ass! i don’t even remember what his name was, but he would always pull on the girls' hair and would mess with the quiet boys in the class, and it totally pissed me off!”

“...you beat him up?” souya asked quietly, a curious expression on his face.

“yeah! and then i got expelled…but, it was totally worth it!” you said confidently, curling your fingers into a fist. “of course, i don’t think i could beat anybody up now. i would probably be the one getting beaten up, haha.”

“why?”

“oh, well…i mean i dunno. back then it was pretty easy because everyone was just as weak as everyone else, but now that we’re older everyone has different strengths. i mean, you and your brother are for sure stronger than i am, right?”

“...yeah, you’re right. there was this time me and my brother, we challenged these dudes from…” as souya began to talk, you smiled, noticing his head was fully out of his arms. the expression on his face had changed from nervous to somewhat curious and excited, making you feel quite accomplished. his voice was soft and calm as he talked, and unknowingly, listening to him talk was also calming you down as well, making you feel more relaxed. in fact, you even forgot for a moment that the two of you were currently locked in a closet.

how cute…

you supposed it wasn’t terrible to stay here for a while longer.

you jokingly told your friends you’re into skater boys "yea i just love the way they fail and if their on the rail, sometimes they land on their balls." chifuyu overheard but only from the "i love the way they..." and started bringing a skateboard to classes. mind you no one has ever seen him place even a single foot on it.

this is on the fact that baji infact doesn't own any books. not unless it's a school textbook which were regardless compulsory to have. he just took whichever thickest book he could find on his mom's shelf.

you’re in the beginning of your baking era and your personal taster is souya/chifuyu/hakkai!! no matter how burnt or salty or 1000% sweet it is, he’ll eat it no matter what while clenching his fists at the taste but still telling you how proud he is of you and asking you to bake more next time so that he could have more.

however if it were rindou/draken at your side they’d eat it. and they’d be brutally honest about it. sweetly. “it’s kinda bitter, ironically, but it’s good. just maybe some tweaks in the sugar and salt and it’s going to be as perfect as you.” he smiles as he holds your chin. he’d offer to bake with you but he respects if you want to work alone. regardless he’s gonna be watching you, thinks you look beautiful focused.

Happy (extremely belated) Birthday to the Kawata Twins! First time I’m writing for them, hopefully their characterisation are fine! Dedicated to a friend >.> you know who you are

“Kawata Nahoya! I can’t believe you!” You huffed, though as much as you would have like to have hands on your hips to give him a proper chastising, you were too busy threading them both through a mob of cotton candy blue hair sniffling up against your shirt. “A fight? On your birthday?!”

Said boy barely looked bothered, the usual shit-eating grin plastered all over his face doing little to hide to the smugness he was feeling over his win; both the Kawata twins knew it wasn’t anger in your tone. It was worry, as always, about them getting hurt in their little adventures. “They were being annoying, so we had to put them down of course.”

“Did you have to drag Souya in as well though?”

Ah, Nahoya see where this was going. So Angry was going to pretend he didn’t take part in the beatdown, even if both their uniforms were equally rumpled and dirtied; ah the things he do for his younger brother. "He needs to learn how to defend himself without crying,” the orange-haired boy insisted, though his twin was far from agreeing with him, refusing to look at his older brother, occupied with soaking in the affection you were giving him. You simply sighed, opting to wave away the issue - the Toman Fourth Division Captain was notoriously stubborn, and they knew they were already running late on the schedule you had planned to celebrate their birthdays.

Throwing your hands in the air, you gently hustled Souya away from you, only to stand and roughly wipe at the dirt smudges on Nahoya’s face with a handkerchief produced from the depths of your pocket, much to his chagrin. “At least tidy up before you come.”

“I’m clean enough!”

You rolled your eyes, ignoring his words in favour of turning to lead the way into the ramen shop, with Angry right on your heels looking much like a kicked puppy. “Come on, I’m starving.”

Lunch was a relatively quick affair, with the three of you eager to get on with the promise of a fun-filled day. It definitely helped that the chef was a grumpy man that both the Kawata twins were weary enough to thread lightly around - even delinquents knew better than to angry the hand that feeds them. Shuffling out back into the sunny afternoon with full stomachs and lively moods, you stretched, satisfied. "All right, where to next?"

"Don't you already have everything planned?" Nahoya teased, and this time Souya nodded along. They knew you never liked leaving home without a plan, and it seemed they were right again as you let out a laugh. They got you again.

"I did have plans to go to the arcade," you admitted, pulling out what looked like three IC cards, handing each of them one. "Topped it up as well, go wild."

Souya glanced between his card and the one you still held. "Can I have that one instead?"

"Already used it. Sorry, Souya."

Nahoya slapped his twin on the shoulder, before jerking a thumb and exclaiming. Everything suddenly made sense. "That's why your school bag's so fat!" If you hadn't been a second quicker in twisting yourself away and out of reach, the Toman Division Captain would have his grubby hands all over your bag. "Show, show! Whatcha win?"

"Your birthday presents okay?" Grumbling, you pulled out the two stuffed bears, one dressed in a duckie raincoat and the other a froggy raincoat, the two furry plush almost instantly being snatched up by the orange-haired boy. “Honestly, you two are more like my brothers than my friends sometimes.”

“Older or younger?” Nahoya hmmed and hawed, trying to decide between the two types. He liked them both pretty much equally, the delinquent mused, deciding to instead let his younger twin pick first. “I vote older. I always protect you at school.”

Souya agreed. "Older. We always fight off the bullies."

You smacked him over the head with yet another freshly won plushie produced from the depths of your bag. “Definitely younger because you sir are nothing but trouble.”

Nahoya sent a wink to his younger brother. But you weren't done yet, turning to smack the blue-haired boy as well. “And Souya, you too, don’t think I forgot you. Following this stupidhead into fights, what are you thinking? No one dares bully me to begin with.”

But turning away, it was hard for the two Kawata brothers to miss the smile that quirked your lips. “But happy Birthday to you boys, I suppose.” No doubt you certainly felt that on older sibling role some days more than others, having to look out for your two best friends and make sure they don't get themselves into too much trouble.

Nahoya grabbed one arm, and Souya the other in one smooth movement before you could react, and you blinked, gaping as the two begin frogmarching you down the street. "Enough moping about! Let's go!" Nahoya declared, his froggy-coated bear tucked firmly under his free arm. "I'll win something even bigger for you!"

❥ souya is 100% the little spoon most of the time, and this is not arguable!! he loves to be held in your arms, (although he’s very shy about admitting it) and he finds having your presence right behind him to be very comforting. this position sometimes changes when he turns around, in which he’ll wrap his arms around your waist and have his head tucked underneath your head, (his hair gets in your face, but you will never ever admit that to him).

❥ he tends to slowly trace different shapes and words on your back, which can sometimes lead to impromptu naps when you really aren’t supposed to be napping, (usually leads to the two of you waking up in a panic when nahoya bangs on the door asking why you still haven’t gone home yet).

❥ definitely mumbles random things in his sleep, which can be quite amusing to listen to.

“...th..ramen…(y/n)...” “huh? souya?” “...no, the…pepper…” “oh, okay.”

❥ absolutely adores whenever you play with his hair! he doesn’t care what you do with it whether you braid it, brush it, or just mess with it in general, he never wants you to stop. if you do stop, he won’t say anything, but he’ll have a bit of a frown and will put your hand back on his head in hopes that you’ll continue.

❥ on the same note, he also likes to play with your hair as well! he’s extremely gentle with it because he doesn’t want there to be any chance of hurting you, so he’s either smoothing his hand over your hair or lightly massaging your scalp, (he doesn’t have a reason behind this aside from the fact that you seem to enjoy it).

❥ it is a common occurrence for the two of you to be playing video games while cuddling! he’s specifically set up his ps2, gamecube and television in front of his bed, which makes for a perfect cuddling / gaming session! contrasting his usual little spoon position, he will actually sit you right between his legs and will tuck your head under his chin while the two of you play.

❥ your go-to games are mario party, mario kart, and animal crossing, (for when the two of you are tired and want to play a relaxing game). surprisingly, you guys never really use the ps2, most of the games you two play being nintendo!

❥ souya is very sweet, so the the most he will do when he is losing in a game is grumble under his breath and hold you a little bit tighter. he still enjoys every second of it though!

❥ in relation to this, the two of you will cuddle while doing almost any hobby such as this! it usually depends on your mood, but it can range from anything; gaming, reading manga, or eating snacks and watching a show.

❥ he makes sure to be stocking up on all your favorite snacks because of this!

❥ when the two of you are reading manga together, you usually have to read a little bit slower because souya likes to soak in all the little details and moments that happen. it ends up being useful whenever you get confused about what’s happening since he’s able to explain it to you perfectly!

❥ he’s a bit shy about it, but he’ll plant small kisses on your face from time to time when you’re asleep, (he thinks your face is so kissable, but he gets embarrassed when he kisses you and you’re watching him).

❥ when you’re asleep, he does his best to not move around and not make any sound. he knows that life and school can be stressful, so he feels grateful that you trust him so much to fall asleep around him. because of this, he will genuinely not move a muscle; he would rather he has numb limbs than have you wake up.

❥ adding on to this, the only thing he will move for will be so he can very slowly grab his phone and text nahoya to shut up.
