Steve Pond: After a season in which so many of the female characters really ran the show, were you OK with the Iron Throne going to a very passive male character, Bran?

Sophie Turner: I suppose it’s not really the Iron Throne anymore. [Laughs] I think it’s true what Tyrion was saying: Bran holds all of our stories, and we can’t move on unless we remember our history. Daeneyrs had to die. Cersei was a mad queen. Arya is too much of a free spirit. Sansa probably wouldn’t want to rule the seven kingdoms anyway — she wanted to stay in the North and defend the North. I really think Bran might be the perfect person for the job.

Congrats to Game of Thrones for winning the category Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series at this year’s Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. GoT beat out Stranger Things, GLOW, Homeland, and The Walking Dead to take home the prize.

Much of the public focus is on main characters like Daenerys, Tyrion, Jon, and Arya. But without specialized crews such as the stunt professionals, the series would lose many of its sensory exclamation marks.

It’s not as easy as it looks being an anonymous wight or a Dothraki warrior on horseback in a battle scene.

For the final season as a whole it was just so impressive. My first real thought was, 'Oh god, we have to shoot this now. And it is kind of an impossible challenge. It will be really difficult'. I am currently on my way to a night shoot, which is week 4 of 12 weeks of night shoots. It’s just huge. The task is huge. But, there’s no better way to leave the show, to be honest.

Maisie Williams quoted February 12th at Metro.

The implication is that Week 12 of shooting (at least for Maisie) for Season 8 would be April 8th through 14th. So a lot of work remains to be done. They are making the equivalent of six feature length films.

YouTuber Korean Billy is a language enthusiast who is especially fond of exploring the realm of British English regional dialects.

Although there are various discrepancies and inconsistencies regarding accents in the HBO series, it is generally true that characters from The North (and beyond) tend to speak with a Northern English accent (Yorkshire in particular) while those from the southern lands (except Dorne) are heard in standard British English of the southeast. Americans often refer to the latter as BBC English.

In the video above, Korean Billy demonstrates how several well known phrases are pronounced in different parts of Westeros.

An image that’s been circulating on Twitter, presumably fan art. There has been no official announcement that we’re aware of as to when Season 8 begins.

It does raise an interesting question: Will winter be so severe that Blackwater Bay is going to freeze over? The freezing along the shoreline of the Narrow Sea has implications regarding Euron’s fleet and the ability of the Army of the Dead to advance to previously inaccessible locations.
