editor's notes ; hi anon !!! thank you for requesting KJSDHKJSAHKADSH i kinda got off topic, especially since this is an imagine and...yeah DSKHAJKHAKJ it also focused on the events of endgame, so if you haven't watched it, yeah, there are kinda spoilers. but ngl, i think it's good to see how the y/n also cared for everyone, which can be seen throughout the fic. although not everything is canon compliant since i haven't watched avengers: endgame in a while, so let me know what you think!

summary ; druig has been with you for quite sometime now, especially in your hardest times. he's just tired of you dealing with it alone.

unbeknownst to the other eternals, sersi wasn't the only one with a human lover. druig has been visiting his lover when thanos and his children attacked earth, and being the younger sister of iron man, you went with your brother to help and defeat thanos. you were with him on titan, screaming when thanos had your brother, forcing dr. strange to give up the stone. you were with him when peter and the others started turning into dust. and five years later, druig watched as you helped your brother figure out how to bring back the others.

as it is not in his mission as an eternal, his family didn't want to intervene with the events before and during the so-called blip. he did, however, visit you in the five years that half the population were gone. despite popular belief, druig does have a soft spot…for you, that is.

"hello, my love," you softly smiled at druig as he placed his forehead against yours. you were in your office (of some sorts), doing your duties to the stark industries to help your brother and his wife, given that they now had morgan. "have you rested, dear?"

you stopped for a while, rubbing your eyes. "hi, druig. i'm okay, just catching up on stark duties. my brother has been focusing on the time travel thingy, so i need to help pepper with the company."

druig was quick to hold your hands, bringing them to his lips, making you laugh. "what are you doing, druig?"

"come with me, y/n," druig said, pressing a light kiss on your lips. his hands snaked your hips, pulling you even closer. protests died on your lips as he kissed you senseless, but of course, the moment is soon interrupted by your phone ringing.

"wait, druig, i need to answer that," druig didn't want to let you go, but he also doesn't want to risk getting you mad, so he reluctantly let you answer.

"hello, tony?"

"i figured it out."

"what?" you were in disbelief. "does it mean…?"

"yes, we're going to try and get them back. meet us at the compound, we need to plan this."

you shuddered, breathing deep. "yeah, okay, i'm on my way."

druig's brows furrowed hearing this. where are you going? you quickly stood up, gathered your things, going to leave but stopped by druig. "what's happening, where are you going?"

"tony found a way to bring them back. i'm sorry, i need to go."

"but,"

"druig," your voice was hard, removing his hold on you. "i'm really sorry, but i have to be there. i need to do this. i'll find you when it's over."

"don't die on me, y/n."

you smiled, kissing him. "i wouldn't dream of it."

needless to say, it went better than expected, especially with tony's help. you chuckled to yourself, remembering natasha's retelling about how scott turned into a baby in one of their failed attempts to time travel. but, of course, the idea of traveling to the past to get the infinity stones to try and reverse what thanos did seemed absurd enough on its own, but then again, your life as an avengers (and the partner of one of the eternals) is bound to get absurd on its own.

after clint came back successful and assignments were handed out for whose team's going to get the stones, you were off. you were going with thor and rocket to asgard while tony's team is going to new york, and nat's and rhodes' are going to morag and vormir.

"see you in a minute," natasha said, smiling at steve.

"be careful, tony," you said, smiling at him as well.

"see you on the flip side, sis."

and so, the teams went to get the stones. your team went with just a minor hitch, but if it helped thor, it's not really a bother. coming back was kind of disorienting, but you were excited…everything would be back the way it was…until it wasn't.

remembering natasha was a quiet affair with the avengers. you flinched when bruce shouted, but clint…he told you about what was said when they went to vormir. your eyes were bloodshot as they argued.

"we need to give her a proper funeral," you said, albeit quietly. "she deserves to be with family."

they all agreed, so you initiated, planning a short but proper funeral for one of your closest friends. druig hung back at the small ceremony, watching you as you cried in your brother's arms. he let you be, knowing you needed the time to grieve.

and, then it was time to bring everyone back. you pat bruce's arm before shielding yourself with your armor, and then he snapped. it was quiet for a while, but then laura was calling clint and then, they're back! everyone's back and yet, you couldn't stop this ominous feeling.

"what the fuck is that?" you asked, eyes wide. you vaguely heard the others shouting before you were trapped as the compound fell and crashed on you. your ears were ringing as you looked at the mess that is the compound and looked for any of the avengers. clint was underneath some rubble beside you so you immediately helped him up.

"we need to find the others." you nodded, helping clint as he gripped the gauntlet. you looked up, seeing nebula. you grinned, calling her but was confused…she seemed weird.

"hey, nebula, mind giving us a hand?" nebula got near you two, reaching for the gauntlet, but you knew better, immediately punching her. "wait, y/n!"

"that's not nebula, i don't know who the fuck you are, but you aren't getting this gauntlet." clint looked at the two of you, clearly confused and a bit concussed.

"just give me the gauntlet."

"never," you powered up your suit, similar to your brothers, and engaged in battle. "clint, you need to get out of here and get to tony."

"okay," you gave him the gauntlet, focusing on the fake nebula in front of you. "be safe, y/n."

you immediately battled 'nebula', focusing on her weak points from what amelia, your AI, told you. you were both interrupted by another nebula and…gamora, from the looks of it.

"y/n, are you alright?"

"nebula! wait, is that really you?"

"yes, you should go to stark, he is currently battling our father, we'll deal with her."

"thank you," you flew, asking amelia where your brother was. when you pinpointed his location, you saw thanos and your brother, steve, and thor. shit. you couldn't risk making it worse so you connected with friday's comms.

"hey, tony. you need any help?"

"y/n! shit, fuck, you need t–," you screamed as thanos used as a shield, his system failing making you fly immediately to his side. you opened his faceplate, asking amelia to scan him and was fortunate enough for just a few bruises.

you watched as steve and thor fought off thanos, as thanos almost killed thor, and as steve wielded mjolnir. you couldn't do anything…not because you didn't want to, but you can't leave your brother.

you helped him up, careful of his bruises as thor was now on the ground. steve fought him more, but thanos got the upper hand, destroying the shield as thanos summoned his army. you were hopeless, arms still around your brother as you both approached thor.

"...on your left," all of you looked at the portals…wait, is everyone…?

you breathed in relief, tears in your eyes as you looked at your family coming through the portals. everyone was back…which means…you flew with your brother, his systems functioning at least, standing besides steve. pepper is donning her own iron suit, a gift tony was reserving for their anniversary. tony looked at you, nodding.

"avengers," steve said, summoning mjolnir. "assemble!"

the fight–no, war, was on. you flew, shooting lasers and helping your brother in battle. you saw cull obsidian punched him, making you retaliate, effectively rendering him unconscious. you saw peter approaching you both as he rambled about what happened. tony was quick to hug him, you second, as he returned the hug.

"okay, we need to go and get the stones away from thanos."

it went forever, you thought, as you fought your way to prevent thanos from getting the stones. but then, he had the gauntlet and all was gone.

"i am inevitable," he snapped his fingers…nothing happened, wait…what? then you saw tony, the stones on his own gauntlet.

but before you could stop him, he looked at thanos. "and i…am iron man."

you all stopped, looking as everyone in thanos' army disintegrated. you were quick to fly beside your brother, seeing the toll it took on his human body when he snapped. you took off your suit and cried, holding your brother as everyone went to you and him. peter was crying beside you as he told tony you won, and pepper…oh, pepper. she sat beside you as you both helped tony sit up.

"hey," pepper's voice was steady but you knew how much this is for her.

"hey, pep," he tried to look at you but you shook your head, telling him it's okay. "hey, y/n."

"F.R.I.D.A.Y.?"

"life functions critical," your hand goes to your mouth, stifling the sobs escaping it. he wasn't gonna make it.

"tony, look at me." you sobbed beside pepper, holding one of his hands. she held his face, smiling as tears fell down her face. "we're gonna be okay, you can rest now."

and with that, the arc reactor lost its light. pepper clutched onto her husband as she cried. you let go of his hand, standing beside peter. you didn't stop crying as everyone kneeled to honor tony. the funeral was quaint, your family grieved as you all watched tony's last message. he was gone.

months passed after everyone was back…and your brother was gone. druig came to your room after the funeral and comforted you. he let you cry on his shoulders as he held you, heart easily breaking for one of his beloved mortals. he offered to take you away from everything but you couldn't just leave. there was many things to do, especially with the company. with tony gone, you needed to step in and help pepper and of course, being iron man, your brother left a lot of duties.

you worked and worked and worked, forcing yourself into exhaustion, hoping it would take your mind off of your brother. druig always tried to persuade you but you didn't get swayed. you couldn't. the least you could do for your brother is to continue is his legacy, and that you did. and because of it, you didn't really have time for your partner, and he wasn't going to let it happen any longer.

"y/n," druig's voice was stern. "you need to rest."

"no, druig. i need to finish these reports. tony wou–,"

"no, y/n! you are one foot away from dying! i won't let that happen!"

"druig, you need to und–,"

"no, you need to understand!" his voice was firm as he gripped your shoulders, trying not to tighten them too much. "you're working yourself to death. your family is worried about you. i'm worried about you!"

"but tony–,"

"tony's gone," druig looked apologetic. "i'm sorry, love, but he's gone. and he wouldn't be happy if you died just after he sacrificed himself for you and for everyone he loved and for the whole world."

you finally let druig hug you, his clothes immediately getting wet as you cried. your hands gripped him, scared. "i'm sorry. ever since tony died, i tried to do everything he did. i couldn't let his legacy just die, he doesn't deserve to be forgotten. as his sister, i needed to take on the role, but i…i can't. tony's gone and iron man's gone, and i miss him so fucking much, druig. it hurts."

he pulled you closer, rubbing circles on your back as he assured you. "i know it hurts. i may not truly understand, but living with you mortals for a thousand years or so, i had my fair share of grieving. and, it's okay to grieve. it's okay. but, you need to remember to take care of yourself. ever since winning against thanos, you didn't stop taking care of everyone, even if it didn't concern you. darling, you take care of everyone but who takes care of you?"

his hands moved to your face, wiping away your tears and resting his forehead against yours. "if you let me, i'd gladly take care of you for all eternity."

"oh, druig." you smiled, crying still. "is this really going to work?"

"i'll make it work, my beautiful, beautiful, y/n." you laughed at his nickname for you. he smiled, seeing you a bit happy was a start. "i love you."

"i love you too, druig."

he kissed you softly, relishing in your beauty as he took your lips in his. you laughed once more as he kissed your forehead, resting his on yours once more.

"let me take care of you, y/n."

you smiled, kissing him once more. "i would be honored, my druig."

or as i'd like to call it, i hate not having interaction and so i'm leaving ! :DDDD /hj but like, yes, i am going to be leaving this blog.

hello ! as you may have recalled a few of my posts the past months (i guess) i have been feeling....sad? or like, craving for attention on here because, what, with a thousand people, i don't really get that much interaction as i hoped i would, like,,, people don't talk to me unless i do so first, so it's just kinda tiring lol

n e ways kjsdhkjdskhb i have made the decision to finally (FINALLY) make a new blog and start fresh :') but i will not be deactivating or deleting anything on here, don't worry (lol) it will still be up, as is my sideblogs, aka @lovemayari @ian-simps @mirxkeul aside from the character blog which i will be deleting since i didn't really post anything on there lol will be staying up for your viewing pleasure

although, all and any requests i haven't made will be deleted...i'm sorry :") thank you to each and everyone who requested throughout the entire time i've written on here, i'm glad you all appreciated my writing <333

i will still be using this as a way to plug my new account soon, maybe after two months of me starting there as is, and yeah :") will prolly use this account to reblog and gather new audience because i hate to be a blog with stagnant followers :") i'd much rather have a smaller list but know that i can interact and be friends w them :")

side note, i won't be sharing the username on this account for maybe 1-2 weeks, just so i could really start fresh before welcoming old friends :") mutuals may dm me or send an ask to get the username from me :")

as for my side blogs, @lovemayari will be made into a new sideblog in the new account dedicated to marvel/mcu writing which will be shared in that corresponding sideblog. i only started @lovemayari a few months ago and i have loved every piece i wrote for it so as much as i hated leaving abruptly, it was time. see you on the new blog !

thank you to the 1.2k people who believed and continue to support me but i think this is for the best. i'm glad to have met you all and would like to see many of you over on the new blog. i wouldn't mind if i won't be able to see you again, but you all will always hold a special place in my heart. thank you, i love you.

bucky's eyes never left you, watching as you played with clint and sam. you were one of the people he felt comfortable with easily, and as someone older than you, definitely older, he took on a protective role with you. so, when sam joked a while back, about bucky being your father, in some way or form, and seeing your face brightened when he didn't deny anything, he figured that he wouldn't really mind being seen as a parental figure, despite past experiences, because at least he knew you.

or so he thought. you've been avoiding him these past few days, he could tell. what with all the lingering, worried glances when you thought he didn't notice and the nervousness he could feel vibrating off of you, yep, you were avoiding him.

but he doesn't understand why. which is partly the reason he kept an eye on you these days, because even if you wanted to ignore him, he didn't want to just neglect his duties of keeping you safe, no matter how hurt he is that you are ignoring him.

"what happened with you two?" tony was beside him, eyes narrowing as he looked between you and bucky. "you know, since you're technically a father figure to our dear y/n, you can always ask me or clint for anything."

it was still weird being "friends" with tony stark after they almost killed each other in sokovia. but then again, bucky was always grateful for tony stark, and with B.A.R.F., and his arm.

bucky's expression didn't change as he answered tony. "kid's avoiding me, no one knows why, except for natasha, and she wouldn't tell me herself."

tony chuckled, patting bucky on the shoulder. "kids, one day they grow up, and suddenly they don't need you anymore. tell you what, i'll try and convince natasha to convince y/n to talk to you, 'kay?"

bucky simply nodded, thankful for tony. he couldn't quite understand why you started avoiding him, but he'll try to, he couldn't lose you too.

later that night, bucky was told to go to one of the rooms they use for briefing. he was nervous, of course he'd be, for all he knows, you're going to tell him that you hate him and then you're going to permanently avoid him, and he couldn't live with that, no he couldn't. he didn't notice himself pacing around the room, eyes twitching a bit as he thought the worst of every scenario ever, that he didn't notice your worried glance at him when you entered the room.

you were beside him in an instant, grounding him as you helped him even out his breathing. you held his arm, worry pooling in your eyes. admittedly, you were avoiding bucky, but it wasn't anything he'd done, it's what you were afraid he would do. which, in hindsight, might not make sense, because you knew bucky loved you as a daughter, and would support you through everything, but this secret you were keeping from him…you couldn't risk losing him, hence, you avoided him.

"you okay?" your worried glance calmed bucky, because at least it meant you still cared, right?

"yeah, 'm fine." he breathed. "why were you avoiding me?"

"straight to the point, huh?" you chuckled, hands shaking a bit as you tried to calm your heart. "please don't be mad?"

his features softened. "i would never be mad at you, y/n."

"i know," you sighed, biting your lips in worry. "but you know me, always the overthinker. i just…i don't want you to hate me, although i do know that you won't, and this is just me being a bit irrational but–,"

he stopped you, his hands holding your shoulders. "look, we're both scared and kind of new to this whole parent-daughter thing we have going on, but i know and you know that we will always have each other's back, no matter what, okay?"

you took a deep breath, nodding. your hand went to interlace with bucky's, the familial love felt in every crevice of your hand in his. he could feel you were shaking so he squeezed them gently, offering you support for whatever it is that you wanted to tell him.

"so, i was with natasha the other day," you started, nerves slowly easing as bucky looked at you encouragingly. "and we kinda talked about…about, uh, sexualities, since pride month's a few days away, and i asked her, since she's with maria, right?"

bucky simply nodded, already having an idea on what you were going to say, but of course, he waited.

"and then, a few days later, i think i realized something." you took another deep breath, looking bucky in the eye. "i'm bisexual. i think i actually am for a long time now, but i just came to terms with it, so…yeah."

"y/n, that's amazing, darling." he immediately pulled you close, mind traveling back to when he knew about the different sexualities in the 20th century. back in the war, he knew he was different, what with steve, and other dames he dated, he knew that it's something people considered taboo. so, when he finally got to live the life he always wanted, more free than before, he researched about it, asking natasha for help as well.

he pulled out of the embrace, smiling briefly as he wiped the tears from your eyes. you felt relieved that bucky–your dad, took it well, and didn't change his mind and still loved you. you smiled at him, tears flowing down as he reassured you, that he was proud of you and that nothing changes, he still loves you.

"you really don't mind?" your voice was small, still a bit worried despite his reassurance. his hands gently stroked your hair, eyes full of love as he looked at you.

"baby, y/n, never. when i woke up in the 20th century, after tony helped removing the words." he looked at you and smiled. "the first thing i did was ask steve if it changed."

"if what changed?"

"steve didn't tell you?" your eyebrows furrowed as you looked at bucky. he laughed, shaking his head. "we dated back in the war, before everything happened."

your eyes were wide as he continued. "i never thought there would be something to describe my attraction to steve. we were friends first, and lovers for quite a while, but it was only always him. i was only ever attracted to him. and then, i learned about demisexuality, and it opened up a lot of things i never knew about me."

he looked you in the eyes. "believe me when i tell you that nothing will change. you will always be my daughter and i would always be behind your back, just like you with me, alright?"

you nodded again, this time, more sure that bucky wasn't lying, not that he could do that to you. he grinned, pulling you for another hug and patting your head. "i'll always love you, kid."

"i'll always love you too…dad."

"i got eyes on the target, cap," you said, your eyebrows furrowing at the…deviants just near times square. last thing you knew was that these deviants were old news and were defeated by the eternals, as fury said when they saw them resurfacing just a few days ago.

"be safe, y/n. we can't have you dying already."

"shut up, i'll see you soon." you told sam your coordinates, before jumping down to deal with the deviant. you drew its attention as you armed yourself, the electricity tingling in your hands as the staff you conjured materialized. "eta?"

"carol and hope are five minutes away."

"okay, five minutes. i got this," you whispered to yourself. you ran up to the deviant, using your staff to jump and bashing the deviant's head. it snarled at you, whipping its tail and making you trip. you cursed under your breath as you got up, breathing heavily. how the fuck is five minutes too long?

"watch out," you were startled, looking at the deviant which was now charging towards you at an unbelievable speed. you looked at the guy who warned you, about to thank him when you cursed, raising your staff once more as you and the guy…wait he's not alone, battled the deviant and tried to immobilize it.

you looked on as these people used powers, but unlike wanda's or the ones used by those that practice the mystic arts. but you couldn't afford to be distracted, but reported to sam what was happening.

"wait, wizards?"

"no," you grunted. "i don't think so. where the fuck are hope and carol?"

"fury told me they're being sent on another mission."

you rolled your eyes. "what? well, i need backup."

"stay safe. bucky and i are on our way, come on buckaroo!"

"don't call me that,"

you laughed, hearing bucky. "yeah, got it, cap. see you!" you ran, helping the man who warned you with the deviant. he shot you a grateful look, your cheeks warm from his intense stare. "thanks for earlier, uh?"

"druig," he didn't know why he was intrigued by you, but he was. he smirked as he controlled some of the people still lurking about, ordering them to run away before asking you. "and you are?"

"y/n," you grinned as you bashed the deviant on the head without looking. sersi and the others looked on in interest, eyebrows narrowing in confusion and amusement as they watched you two. "oh shit, watch out."

druig knew he could easily dodge the deviant but let you push him as you used your staff to distract the deviant, missing your balance and tripping. druig heard an "umph" as both of you fell

on the ground. you winced, closing your eyes, not noticing how you ended on top of druig. druig's hands ended on your waist, his face warm as he realized you weren't in any way leaving. you opened your eyes as it grew wide and stared into his own. your noses were almost touching with the close proximity, the noises buzzing in the background as the others continued to fight the deviant. you watched as druig's gaze moved from your eyes to your lips, making you unconsciously lick your lips. and not even you could comprehend how close his lips were to yours, but the moment was broken with bucky coughing, smirking down at you.

"cozy there, y/n?" sersi and the others looked at the avengers, piecing together how you must have been an avenger yourself. the deviant wasn't defeated, but unfortunately, it left after it was severely injured.

your cheeks were warm as you quickly stood up, offering a hand to druig without fully looking at him. his hand felt cozy on your own as he stood. you stood beside sam as you quickly briefed him and bucky on the situation while druig stood with sersi and the others.

"we need you to come with us," sam said, looking at them. "we need to finish the debriefing, especially with that deviant running loose."

"and why exactly do we need to come with you?" thena said, glaring at him.

"because we don't exactly know how to defeat it," you said, looking at her. "and with what happened today, you guys probably did."

"which reminds me," sam said. "who the hell are you guys?"

"right, we haven't crossed paths." sersi said, taking the lead as she walked to sam, offering her hand. "we're the eternals."

your eyes were wide as you locked eyes with bucky, remembering how you guys were briefed on who the eternals were and what they did to rid the world of deviants. these are the eternals? your eyes, then, traveled to druig who was also looking at you, gauging your reaction.

"so, what now?" you looked back at sam, missing the way druig followed your gaze, eyebrows furrowing. you gestured for him and bucky to come closer, away from the eternals who were all looking at you. "fury will be pissed if the eternals didn't come with us."

"well, you seem to be cozy with one of them," bucky teasingly said, smirking. "why don't you ask them?"

your cheeks warmed at his teasing making you glare at him, sneering at him. "i am not getting cozy with druig. shut up, bucky."

"druig, huh?"

you offered him the finger before walking towards the eternals. you waved at them, smiling. "hi, i'm y/n, i'm an avenger."

"sersi," she said, smiling as she offered you her hand. the others also introduced themselves and you now knew sersi, sprite, thena, ikaris, sprite, kingo, and druig.

"i'm really sorry, but we need you to come with us. our superior warned us about deviants after the sighting and we're gonna need more information on how to defeat them."

"y/n, is it?" ikaris said. "no offense, but we got this handled." he looked at sersi. "we need to go and see phastos. we don't have time for such things."

you furrowed your brows at the way he said that they got it handled. you scoffed, but calmed yourself. "it's official avenger business. we need you to come with us."

sersi looked torn. she understood you but she also understood ikaris. druig saw an opportunity and took it. "why don't i stay?"

"wow, druig, getting it already." kingo said, teasing.

druig, annoyed, glared at kingo who instantly shut up. he turned to you and asked, "do you need all of us? we're kind of in a hurry because of, well, the deviants coming back."

you looked at sam and bucky who tried to look that they weren't listening. you rolled your eyes, pointedly looking at them. "well, cap? you heard him."

"one's fine, i guess. better than nothing."

sersi sighed, but they still have to find phastos and then the domo, and maybe this is good for druig to be around someone who makes him look like a lovesick fool.

"alright," sersi turned to druig. "please leave the emergence out of the conversation. we don't want to alarm the mortals."

"i'll come find you and the others after," druig walked over to you. "shall we?"

"see you, y/n!" sam said, grinning as he and bucky all but ran to the jet they came with. they waved at the eternals who looked amused, before they also left. your jaw dropped as they left you with a smug-looking druig as he watched you.

"well, looks like we're alone, y/n."

"i guess we are," you said, grinning but scowling at sam and bucky who sent you a text to 'enjoy'. "those fuckers. let's just go."

druig smiled, a genuine one, as you both ventured to the avengers compound. well, he could get used to seeing you, maybe even recreate what happened earlier and come through with it.

the first time was just a few days after he noticed he's taken a liking to you. if anyone asked him about his lingering stares, of course, he'd deny it. but with this comes a bigger problem for druig…how would he get you to notice him? and after researching on courting customs of mortals, well, he went with the most obvious choice, be the most annoying shit to capture your attention and then, sweep you off your feet! what could possibly go wrong?

"y/n," he called you as the others danced in front of the fire. you looked at him, narrowing your eyes at him. "what? i'm not doing anything…yet."

"that means you have a plan," you said, a closed-lip grin on your mouth. "well, then, goodbye."

"wait," his hand shot up to yours, he ignored the tingling as he touched your arm. "can i ask you something?"

"alright, what is it?"

"have you ever tried painting or sculpting maybe, arts, in general?"

you looked at him, curious and calculating. "i have, some of the people we've met had taught me. why did you ask?"

"that must be why you're so good at drawing me in," he grinned, raising his brows at you.

you rolled your eyes and laughed, "that is horrendous and i've heard better."

you shot druig a pointed look before going to kingo and sprite, understanding his intentions. sure, druig wasn't the first person to have taken an interest in you, but as an eternal, and being born for quite a while, you were used to men and women, alike, flocking over you. you just wished druig just told you directly…maybe, someday.

the second time was the day before you all separated. you were conversing with some of the locals when druig pulls you aside. you saw the glint in his eye, making you prepare for what's about to come.

"yes, druig?"

"what, i can't greet you, y/n?"

you smiled, eyes narrowing. "of course, that's not what i meant, but you know that, so what is it?"

"did it hurt?"

"when i fell from heaven? no. but it burned, when i climbed back from hell." you smiled, patting his shoulder. "i need to go, sersi's calling me. maybe next time?"

sersi understood immediately what happened when you huffed next to her. "he did it again, did he?"

"of course, he did. he knows how to be insufferable, just like every other person who tried to woo me by annoying me with these lines."

sersi laughed, looking at you. "but you do enjoy them, do you?"

you sighed, a faint smile lingering. "well, yes, i do."

"but not the others?" she said, pertaining to previous suitors.

"no."

"druig must be special," she said wistfully, making your cheeks feel warm.

you didn't admit anything, thus turning to her. "and ikaris must also be special for you, sersi."

her cheeks warmed, eyes wide at you. you laughed, talking with each other into the night, not noticing the eyes subtly looking and watching you like you're his whole world.

the third time, which is a charm, some humans have said, was when you chanced upon each other in the forest he was in. you knew he stayed, you just didn't think you'd be encountering him once more, because you thought he wouldn't want to…you know, interact with you, that is.

"y/n, fancy seeing you here." he said, falling into step beside you.

"hello, druig, how's the hundred years treating you?"

"good, good." he smiled at you, making you smile back. you missed him, of course. when the eternals had split, you went on a journey all over the world, taking in all the culture, as many as you could. "say, could i ask you something?"

his tone was hopeful…is this it? the confession…?

"if you're here, who's in charge of heaven?"

you huffed, not even hiding the smile on your face. "well, darling," you ignored the way his ears reddened. "i'm actually in charge of hell now, they must have changed it. let's go back."

you grinned, pulling his arm. his eyes traveled to your hand holding his, making him smile. if anyone ever said that annoying someone you liked didn't work to get their attention, tell druig, he'd vouch for it.

the fourth time was when sersi and the others informed you of ajak's death. you were visiting druig that day, it was definitely a constant thing in your lives as you talked with the other villagers, sometimes with druig by your side.

you were fighting a deviant, which you thought was vanquished, its last one a hundred or so years ago. druig was behind you, fighting with you when he called you, "y/n!"

"what is it, druig?" you said, grunting. "a bit occupied here!"

"are you a magician?"

"what the, now is not the time, druig!"

"what? it's strange!" he paused. "it's like, everytime i look at you, everyone else disappears!"

the others within the vicinity internally groaned. sersi has half a mind to actually punt druig and just tell him to confess but of course, she isn't like that.

you cursed under your breath as you smiled at his antics, before rolling your eyes. "druig, please shut up, it's really not the time. behind you!"

druig did shut up, but a playful smile was on his lips as you two moved in sync. you laughed, and said loudly, "and that is it for my final act, druig finally listened to me!"

the others bit back a laugh, druig looked incredulously but he knew it's all in good fun. he'll admit it one day, that he did have feelings for you, but not today.

the fifth time was when you finally reunited with the other eternals, set off to the island to try and take over the mind of tiamut and prevent the emergence.

"y/n, after this, do you maybe want to go tennesee?"

"very specific, druig, why?" you asked him, actually knowing the line but it's druig, so you gave him a chance.

"because you're the only ten i see," he grinned. makkari and sersi gave you a teasing smile as you rolled your eyes, not hiding the smile from druig.

you were about to reply, to finally finish it all, but decided not to as you got ready to stop ikaris and sprite from trying to stop you and the others from doing this. you were all connected to druig with the uni-mind, but you couldn't stop gasping when you saw how druig was blasted by ikaris. your heart stopped for a moment, as you waited for druig to reemerge, but he didn't. overturned by the anger with ikaris, you and makkari worked with each other to render ikaris weak, revenge for killing druig.

your heart broke as makkari screamed, knowing how close she is with druig as well. and you swore to yourself, he wouldn't have died in vain. you'd make sure of that. you chased your breath as you looked at ikaris with a hard look as phastos contained him. thena was preoccupied with one of the deviants, kro. you and makkari stayed silent, waiting if sirse was able to go to tiamut. ikaris was, unfortunately, able to break free but flew off to where sirse was, before you could do anything. hopefully, sirse could continue, still.

you felt yourself glow and rise, indicating sersi's success. when you dropped to the ground after, you were waiting in bated breath, but nothing happened. the eternals stopped the emergence! you smiled, hugging makkari, thena, and phastos for the success of stopping it. you waited for sersi's return, hugging her immediately, not noticing the person behind her.

the one time he was ready to tell you his feelings, he was blasted by the bastard, ikaris. and then, upon waking up, he saw sirse get stabbed by sprite, so of course, he had to help sirse, because he cannot try again, and so, encouraged sersi to do it. he swore, after this, he'd tell you exactly what he wants. but for now, to stop the emergence.

he watched you hug sirse, a smile on his face, grateful that you seemed alright. he didn't speak, makkari and the others understanding what's about to happen, and gave you space. and suddenly, everything stopped when you locked eyes with him, tears brimming in your eyes as sersi steps aside to talk with the other eternals.

"druig," his name sounded so good when you said it, especially after what almost happened. "druig!"

he opened his arm as you barreled towards him, your arms around him as you hugged him tight. his hands settled on your back as he placed his forehead on yours. "are your eyes the ocean or something, because i'm getting lost when i looked you in the eyes."

you laughed, slapping druig's arm. "please just go ahead and tell me directly, or i'd kick you after ikaris."

he laughed, his hands now holding your cheeks. "my beautiful, beautiful, y/n, i have feelings for you. will you do me the honor of accompanying me to dinner this evening?"

the others grinned to themselves when they saw what's happening, finally, ringing in their heads as they averted their eyes to give you both privacy once more.

you grinned, looking at him. "i thought you'd never ask."

and if the kiss he bestowed upon you was one of the sweetest and the most awaited kiss you've had in the many years you've been on earth, well, no one but druig should know
