2023 Cookie of the Year: Kingdom Edition

☁️ Heya! I’m sure you got the note my colleague Kit sent you and pinned at the top of the blog. She’ll be working her way into being part of our main contributor panel over the next couple months just as I and Strawberry Crepe Cookie have, which is how we ended up becoming frequent contributors on this blog. How she got into this is a long story, and one for another time. But moving on to the main topic here, it’s time to vote for 2023’s Cookie of the Year! In case you missed it last year like Vanilla Meringue Cookie (Your ACTUAL Editor, who also goes by Meringue) did, here’s how it works:

Every playable Cookie (minus the collaboration Cookies including Sonic, Tails, and BTS) in CRK will be split into a tournament bracket full of 1v1 matchups

In each matchup, pick the one you like more. There WILL be matchups where your vote will force you to choose favorites OVER your favorites.

Finalists will receive special prizes of all kinds which we don’t know yet!

Everyone might receive different matchups.

All times listed below are in KST (GMT+9)

R1: Update launch - 12/17, 11:59 AM (top 64 of 110 will advance)

R2: 12/17, 1 PM - 12/20, 11:59 AM (top 32 of 64 will advance, this is where the bracket goes to the real 1v1 situations where one goes home in each matchup)

I spend a lot of time alone in rooms because they are peaceful. I really like to drive for hours on end with my headphones in to listen to music. Sometimes I don’t ever get anywhere but it’s fun to drive. I also like to walk down long hallways and listen to music. I don’t know why. ***Spoiler Warning for One Piece Arc***

☁️☁️𝗦𝗞𝗬𝗣𝗜𝗘𝗔🌙☁️

The Thor small rubber boy matchup is 1-9

Unfortunately, I did not like Skypiea very much and it is part of the reason I took my first long break of one piece. During that time, I got caught up on both JJK and Black Clover, both good series, and both are probably not the series you were reading this and expecting to hear about, so moving on. Skypiea is a pretty long arc that takes place directly after Alabasta, another long arc that is significantly better, and followed up with Water7/Enis Lobby ,a top 2 contender for my favorite arc in the series so far. Which causes the arc to feel overshadowed by everything around it. While the arc has its moments like the first time Luffy meets Blackbeard, the story of Noland the Liar, and the Luffy Enel fight, as well as introducing the dials (which I kind of wish stayed a little bit more relevant) and foreshadowing observation Haki overall the arc felt slow and was full of characters that have made very few appearances since mostly limited to the cover stories. One positive about the arc that I definitely need to mention, though, is how the Merry Go Develops in this arc. Yes, my favorite part of this arc is how it builds up how much the Straw Hats love the Merry Go and how much the Merry Go loves them back.

That is all for this one, folks. I hope my post was enjoyable and did not just clog up your timeline. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention to any die-hard Skypiea fans out there or any One Piece fans that don't like I am critical of this arc, just remember that this is just my own opinion and that I am happy that you were happy with this arc, there is alot to enjoy here in the clouds. It just wasn't something that I personally loved. I hope yall reach your own endless varse someday.

My whole job is in fact recommending books! Unfortunately as far as romance I don’t have a ton, and the two I’m reading right now aren’t out yet technically 😂 Its Secretly Yours by Tessa Bailey (which I’m holding off on because I actually want to write a Diluc thing based on the blurb first before I dive in), and Lunar Love by Lauren Kung Jessen. They’re cute so far, and definitely recommend looking out for them in January! At least I’m not holding one-sided grudges on the authors like I sometimes do. 🤣 Next on my list after those is getting back to Get a Life Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert, which I loved but got interrupted on reading.
