All adults were once children, but few remember it. - The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Drew this a few months ago when I got hit with major nostalgia for The Little Prince for reasons I can’t quite remember. It was kinda fun to just sit down and not really think much about drawing.

‘silly little love affair’ [Part IV of VI]
Lucifer Morningstar x F!Reader [Adam's Sister]
[warning: implied sexual intercourse: angst: fluff: implied self harm]
previous part > next part
Lucifer took her to his house and offered her a seat on their shared bed. He then politely asked if she needed anything to drink, to which she nodded. Using his magical powers, he summoned a glass of water for her.
He handed it to her and she took the glass from his hands, bringing it to her lips and drinking it. “A-Adam found out about our relationship.” she said, and he looked at her, “He told Sera and then I was banned from ever leaving heaven.” she sniffled, and he sat down beside her.
“I-I’m sorry,” she whimpered, looking down at her lap. He shook his head, and wrapped an arm around her. “You have absolutely nothing to apologize for,” He said, rubbing her arm trying to comfort her.
“I-I missed you so much,” she cried, wrapping her arms around him almost tackling him. He hugged her back and smiled looking up at her, “I missed you too,” he said, leaning up to press his lips against hers. “So much,” he whispered, holding her close.
She smiled placing her hand on his cheek, rubbing it gently. “Now we don't have to be apart,” She said, and he smiled kissing her hand. “It’s no one’s fault that he found out,” He kissed her wrist again, kissing the scars like he always did.
[Y/N] sat up, and yawned stretching out her arms. She hasn’t slept that well in ages, she smiled looking over at Lucifer. He looked so adorable sleeping, his face nuzzled into the blanket. Last night almost seemed almost like a dream, she carefully and quietly got out of bed. Putting on some clothes, and made her way downstairs to make breakfast.
She walked down the familiar hallway passing by, countless family portraits of the Morningstar Family. She secretly hoped that one day he might, share the last name. Her cheeks turned red, at the thought of marrying Lucifer.
She made her way towards the kitchen, and reached into the cabinets and pulled out the pancake mix. Placing it on the counter, and started grabbing the ingredients needed to make the pancakes.
As she poured the batter into the pan, a voice from behind asked if there were pancakes being made. She turned around and saw Lucifer, which brought a smile to her lips and joy to her heart.
he started making cups of coffee, for the two of them. She started humming and he looked over at her lovingly, he missed mornings like theses with him and Charlie. When he would make pancake and she’d sit at the table excited, her cup of orange juice already half empty.
how her eyes would light up when he placed the plate in front of her, as he added whipped cream and chocolate chips on top. “you want chocolate chips?” She asked, looking over him and he smiled. “You know I do.” He said, wiggling his eyebrows causing her to giggle.
She added some chocolate chips to the pancake, and smiled as she felt a warm snake around her waist. Eventually the pancakes were done and you placed them on the table.
she missed the occasionally times when she’d be able to eat breakfast with him, not having to worry about anyone finding out about them. Lucifer hummed in delight, “Delicious as always.” He said, as he ate the pancakes. “Not as good as mine though.” He said, teasingly. And she gasped acting hurt, “Why then I guess I won’t be making you anymore pancakes.” She said, giving him a smug look. as they ate their breakfast and drank their coffee, she couldn’t help but wonder about the upcoming extermination.
she knew Adam was going to be there and seeing her in Hell with Lucifer, he’d be fuming he already hated her so she thought. But he’s the reason she was suffering more than she already was, being away from Lucifer when he comforted her so much took a toll on her mentally when she’s already dealing with so much.
Lucifer's warm hand covered hers, and he raised it to his lips, breathing out soothing words to calm her frayed nerves. She smiled at him, her lips slowly meeting his in a tender kiss. As their passion grew, the table shook and plates crashed to the floor, forgotten in the heat of the moment.
As she felt him pulling back from the kiss, she looked up at him with a curious expression on her face. "Are we really about to do this on the dining room table?" she asked, her eyebrow raised in a quizzical manner. He responded with a mischievous smile, his eyes narrowing slightly as he gazed down at her.
The room was dimly lit, and the only sound that could be heard was the soft rustling of their clothing as they shifted positions. Despite the uncertainty of the moment, there was a palpable sense of excitement in the air, as both of them looked at each other.
Their eyes met, filled with a fiery passion that had been building up for so long. "Yes," he said, his voice low and husky, as he leaned in and planted his lips on hers. She gasped, feeling an electric shock coursing through her body. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she pulled him closer, deepening the kiss.
He tasted like desire and she couldn't get enough of him. As they continued to kiss, their bodies pressed against each other, she felt like she was melting into his arms. Every touch, every embrace felt like home, and she knew deep down that she was completely and utterly for him.

August 30th 1624 saw the death of Esther Inglis, calligrapher and miniaturist.
Esther Inglis, daughter of a French immigrant, was a celebrated calligrapher. She produced exquisitely illuminated documents and little books, illustrated with flowers. Her parents, Nicolas Langlois and Marie Presot, were French Huguenots who took refuge in England in about 1569, later settling in Edinburgh. Their daughter Esther seems always to have used the surname ‘Inglis’, the Scottish form of Langlois.
In 1596, Esther married Bartholomew Kello, and by 1604 had moved with him to London. They had six children, of whom four lived to adulthood. Kello, a clergyman, had a church in Essex between 1607 and 1614. In 1615 the family returned to Edinburgh.
Esther went on to become an exceptionally skilled calligrapher (calligraphy is the design and execution of decorative handwriting), illustrator and embroiderer. Her manuscripts vary from religious texts and psalms to secular (non-religious) works - which Inglis transcribed - to designs for emblems (symbolic pictures) and heraldic arms.
She often dedicated her manuscripts to members of the Elizabethan and Jacobean court, and high-ranking European protestants. Often presented as gifts in diplomatic exchange, it is believed that Inglis's early works may have been used to support the negotiations leading up to James VI’s accession to the English throne.Inglis was multilingual and wrote in Latin, Scots and French. From 1599 her manuscripts, which are miniature in scale, also include tiny self-portraits which promoted her authorship and talent. These images are the earliest known self-portraits by a female artist working in Britain.
Her intricate illustrations often feature animals, flowers and fruit, and Inglis may have used emblem books (books of symbolic pictures often accompanied by mottoes, morals or poems) as a source of inspiration for her designs. Inglis was multitalented and she also embroidered her bound manuscripts, using precious metal threads and seed pearls (tiny natural pearls less than 2mm in size) on velvet. Her works transcend the traditional boundaries of text, visual and textile art forms, and as such she occupies a unique place in European and Scottish renaissance culture.
Despite her talent and prestigious clients, by her death Inglis had accrued significant debts. She died in Leith in August 1624, the dates differ a wee bit.
Today around sixty of her surviving works are recorded in public and private collections across the world. Some of the most decorative and accomplished works can be found in the National Library of Scotland, the Royal Collection Trust and the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C.
The portrait of Esther Inglis can be seen at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery as part of our Reformation to Revolution display.
The University of St Andrews purchased some of her work over ten years ago, you can learn more about her and view some of the pics at the link below.

Blog recommendation of the month - August 2022 @mrosabel - Interview
1. When and how did you start to become interested in photography?
Photography has always been present in me since I got involved in the art world. The need to get out of the established parameters, led me to experiment, to try and surpass myself with each shot. Since 1994 I mark as a starting date to this that has become my day to day and what I am now as an artist. I always had an attraction for the camera, for everything that could be achieved, it was a permanent curiosity, but it was also an object that was difficult to access. Since I took and saw the image of the paper in the darkroom in my photography classes, my interest and desire to experiment arose, and in college I took it as part of my process to record the spaces that I intervened with chalk and it was the record of that mark on the floor that I showed. The register was the means to show, but later the image became the protagonist when I furtively took some pictures at a concert. The low light, not using the flash, the position in which I placed the camera so as not to be discovered was the idea that unleashed what until now is my proposal, my day to day life as an artist.
2. Your blog consists to mostly abstracted self portraits. What is it that draws you towards self-portraiture?
They are not self-portraits. Only those that appear in my profile are self-portraits, always subtle or where only my profile is perceived. I am attracted to portraits of women, which I can reinvent, remove, repeat, blur, recompose. The features are displaced or disappear and this allows me to turn her into another woman, into another being that I give her the power to live another life or to make whoever sees her physically or emotionally reflect her validate or reject her when she sees it.
3. What is the fascination in black and white photography and abstraction for you?
Black and white gives power to my portraits. Dramatism and mysticism. It gives them an aura of mystery and awe. I take the photographs and convert them to black and white in the editor of my computer. The result is ideal for me, because sometimes gray tones with bluish hints give them hardness or fragility and I love that. Abstraction is an important detail. It allows me to remove the identity, disappear, blur and eliminate known features.
4. What inspires you?
I am inspired by everything that crosses my path and happens in my life. Cinema, movement, fashion, what I see on the web, music, literature, the light and shadows of everyday life, landscape, color, solitude, talking and discussing what I do and what others do. When I set out to take a shot, it all comes together somehow and in an instant, magic. When I decided that photography was my path in art to achieve a portrait that brought together what I had in my head, I took 300 shots or more. Discarding all that material until I got “the photo” to show made me acquire a discarding skill that at this moment I can decide in one shot that this is the one I want to publish. This exercise of personal curating that I did for a long time made me be selective and from all that I know what is useful to me, what contributes to me and what I can discard.
5. If you’d have to describe yourself as a photographer in one sentence, what would that sentence be?
I am not a photographer. I am a lucky one who found a wonderful accomplice in the camera.
No soy fotógrafa.
6. How would you describe your photography?
The dim light or its absence are the guidelines that mark my work. I try to take from that first image the last sigh, to move away from the original and produce another image, another being, ethereal, subtle, but earthly in its strangeness and unusualness. The image thus comes out of the camera. Everything happens in the shot. When I get it, it’s almost all said and done. Corrections in the editor to go from color to black and white or to a very subtle color scale. Nothing else. I’m always exploring other ways to produce my images, reinventing myself, looking at what others are doing. I believe that, in time, I will eventually get the image to deteriorate more to give way to a new image with no trace of its origin.
PWS - Stephi
