Post-totk headcanons!
heavy spoilers ahead
ZELDA.
this woman spent millenia as a dragon she is going to have goddamn antlers.
so yeah, she keeps small antlers. they glow. big golden eyelashes too, eyes keep a strange glow to them
she's generally more eldritch.
I think she tends to have more memory issues after coming back. nothing too bad, but she struggles a bit sometimes.
Now Link- he does not just get back his arm. Amputate that man.
yeah so he loses his right arm from a bit above the elbow once Rauru disappears for good and takes his arm and magic back.
He gets phantom pains and all, sometimes he reaches for ultrahand and is just like. ah yeah
he takes it pretty well honestly. Purah and Zelda figure out how to make him a prosthesis and he wears it most of the time, but doesn't like it that much - he just would hate to get caught by surprise by monsters or the Yiga and fumble w/ his left arm.
Zelda and Link are always together after totk happens, but like. even more always together. And it's not just Link protecting Zelda anymore, she's protecting him too.
I think she gains a sort of very faint healing power from her time as the light dragon, so she tries to find ways to always be touching Link so he doesn't get too hurt
Mainly because he has the habit to just. not say when he's hurt, or when something's wrong.
The sages ask a lot about their ancestors, and Zelda loves to tell them and Link everything about her time in the past. She warns that she may not remember everything well, but they don't really care.
more than 100 years after the calamity started, some of the champions are starting to get forgotten - mainly, Revali and Urbosa. Daruk literally has his face carved in a moutain and the Zora live so long that most of them still remember Mipha, but Revali and Urbosa are really becoming more legend than anything. Link and Zelda make sure people remember them.
After everything starts to calm down, Link is forbidden from coming into Gerudo Town again, unless there's something happening and he has to come and protect the city, so Zelda visits often and tells him all about how everyone's doing. Riju sometimes comes out of the town and goes on walks with Zelda and Link.
Link spends a lot of time in Rito Village, telling the kids about Revali and how annoying he was- but mostly about how strong and skilled as an archer he was. He doesn't want Revali to be forgotten.
Sidon is so stressed lmao, Link visits him often. He brings gifts for him and Yona and spends time with them and everyone at the Domain. Sidon is very thankful for his friend.
Link hangs out a lot around Mipha's statue, just letting her watch over him. it's one of the rare places he feels safe enough to put his sword down and just relax.
Tulin is SUCH an excitable little bird child. He loves hanging out with Link. They're siblings I'm deciding right NOW
Link shows Zelda his dream house in Akkala and she just loses it. Link. Link you put my paintings around? Link you out our favorite flowers here? Link you got a bigger bed for the both of us? Link our horses are here? Link I'm Going To Marry You
They move here and make the house in Hateno a safe house for everyone in the village and every traveler that might come. They place travel gates near both houses so they can still go to the school.
They get married because I said so-
Back in the King's time the wedding would've been really big and public and annoying, but Zelda isn't having it. She does make a public announcement that they are getting married, but the actual wedding is a small thing (lol small).
They get married under Satori Mountain's cherry blossoms, and invite the sages, Yona, Purah, Impa, Paya, a lot of the kiddos they met in their adventures, etc. they wear flower crowns too. Link cries. Zelda cries. Everyone cries.
Link doesn't really become King because the second Zelda goes yeah you're kinda legally King now he just goes EW. NOPE.
So Link stays the Queen's knight, they're just yknow. wed.
Hyrule is rebuilt! Nothing bad happens again! because I cannot have these babies hurting again
I think Zelda learns how to fight cuz like. Come on this girl is definitely going to want to explore the Depths and Link is not going to let her go in there without a sword.
She's going to love Froxes. like so much. They're Frogs Link!!!! They Are Frogs
She finds she's most comfortable with a bow and gets a strong golden bow made for her (not the bow of light but something similar, way less powerful) and a shield cuz like goddess pls use shields people
edit after finding the dusk bow and that one person in the notes said she should get the dusk bow she gets the dusk bow
omg they build cities in the sky. They make big ass stairs.
anyways pls add on if u got headcanons for post totk.

Find the word
Find the words from the list in your wips and post the paragraphs they belong to.
Thanks to @zeawesomebirdie for the tag.
1. Star
(From "Virli's Story", one of my LoZ "The Realm Walker" fics. Virli is a member of Revali's tribe of Rito so looks similar to him, but with orange-red feathers, no cheek tufts, and a shorter crest. She has blue eyes and a pair of white dots on her face near where Revali's red spots are. Also her "hair" is braided in a single braid that splits into four at the end.)
Virli’s flight group closes in on the Korikitan Market, and right off the bat their plan is in need of adjustment.  Below, a group of soldiers on horseback approach the monster horde, the black armor with red embossed patterns and horsehair decorated helmets are a clear sign that they’re from Yosikun’s Imperial Army. And if that wasn’t enough, many soldiers have banners attached to their backs, rectangular flags with a diagonal separation of colors, dark slate gray on the bottom and dark red on the top, with the bright red circular emblem of Diryen (De-rye-in), the Alliance’s counterpart to the Goddess Din.  There’s also a single gold four-point star at the top left of the banners, some kind of unit marking probably…
2. Eye
(From "The Long Nightmare", Revali's century long ordeal of being possessed by Ganon. He's just lost to Windblight...)
The creature hovers over Revali, making sickening gurgling noises.  Revali closes his eyes and waits for its cannon to burn through his flesh, “Dad, I guess I’ll see you soon…  Mom, please, stay strong…” Revali can still hear the gurgling, why hasn’t it finished him?!  He opens his eyes and glares at the beast, “Well, what are you waiting for?!  Go ahead!  Finish me already!” It just looks at him with that damned, pulsating Guardian eye.  “What, you want to gloat over me?  You want me to beg for my life or something?!  Fuck you!  You can’t defeat all of us!  Daruk or Urbosa or Mipha will send you back to whatever hell you crawled out of!”
3. Call
(From "The Ballad of Kass", where Kass and Rinili have sneaked into Gerudo village. They're wearing Rito lady clothes, but with the Gerudo veil, since Kass' crest is a male trait in my headcanon. Kass has a green hood and veil while Rinili's is red. Rinili is midnight blue with light blue legs (like Saki) and has four long ornamental tail feathers that he's cleverly tucked into a sash so they think they're part of an outfit instead of his body.)
Kass and Rinili make their way up the staircase and are blocked from entering when the guards cross their spears across the entranceway. The one on the left demands, “State your business vure.” Kass knows enough Gerudo to be insulted.  Yes, he IS a bird, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t rude to call a Rito that out of the blue.  Although, he’s diplomatic enough to let it slide, Kalia would likely have started an incident had she been sent!
4. Dark
(From "Ildia's Story" where Ildia, TP Link and Midna's daughter, first sees the sorry state of Hyrule Castle. She's wearing plate mail armor that's black with glowing blue lines. She has a bright orange ponytail and mismatched eyes, left is blue and right is red, while the whites of her eyes have a hint of yellow. She's standing on a rock near the quarry area in BotW.)
From the top of the rock Ildia can see the huge castle.  It’s like something out of a nightmare! The castle is surrounded by massive black stone pillars with purple lights emerging from the ground and the ruins of a town are in front of the castle, the entire scene surrounded by an ominous, dark aura.  She pulls out what looks like a bird mask, the Hawkeye tool her father once used.  She looks around the ruins: little more than piles of rubble where buildings once stood, more of those machines patrolling, pools of ominous purple and black slime, some of those pools have spike like structures sticking out of them.
5. When
(From "The Azure Phoenix", where Revali's talking with Bedoli and Laissa after waking up from the coma he fell into after Link and Mipha freed him. He's sitting up on the floor of their roost, naked with a blanked wrapped around him. He's just learned that Link and Mipha are still in the village.)
Revali’s genuinely surprised, not so much by Mipha staying, it’s totally understandable that she would stay being the kind soul that she is.  But Link?  Why would he stay when he needs to rescue Daruk and Urbosa?!  It’s not like he and Link were friends, perhaps he didn’t want to leave Mipha alone here.  Then again, Link’s odds of succeeding in rescuing Daruk and Urbosa rise considerably if he has help from the greatest archer Hyrule has ever known...
No pressure tags: @unmaskedcardinal, @autumnsakurajayy, and anyone else who wants to join!
Your words are: light, moon, sound, here, north

Ohhh this has been something I've been wanting to write about for ages. Like since BotW days - but it feels far more fitting after the events of Tears of the Kingdom. Though we don't have any canonical evidence of Yunobo's parents, I'm going to assume (and honestly headcanon) that Bludo had a huge hand in raising him. Please be warned for Tears of the Kingdom spoilers below!
A week after the events of Death Mountain's clearing of whatever monstrosity lay underneath it, Goron City finally seemed to settle. YunoboCo was back on its feet, mining ore and precious stones as business intended. But there was more to it once Link and Yunobo had ascended from the depths. Wearing a golden mawashi patterned sash, adorned with a fiery red stone, was Yunobo. He'd told the people of Goron City that they were free from the havoc that those marbled rock roasts wreaked on their home, but not after apologizing for his awful behavior, citing possession from the mask that was given to him by "Princess Zelda". Bludo remembered barking at him, initially furious that Yunobo would make him worry the way he did, until the two young ones finally got him to calm down. He did save Goron City after all, even if it was a mess Yunobo was still a part of. When he and Link explained what the sash was, and that Yunobo was destined to be beyond Daruk's successor, the city was in awe. Young Champion of the Gorons, Yunobo, was now the awakened the Sage of Fire. Bludo had only heard stories of a Goron sage when he was a kid, old cobble tales, he thought. Yet the proof stood right before him. With Yunobo's fiery charge roll and the flames that blazed from each swing of the Boulder Breaker, there was no real room for doubt. ---- Yunobo stepped just outside of of Goron City, a little overhang that he'd secretly hide away on for as long as he could remember. His eyes scanned from left to right, taking in the metal framing and jagged rock that built the entirety of his home. To think only a few years ago the Goron people were in dire straits, everyone getting sick after Death Mountain had completely cooled down. The thought saddened Yunobo, fearing Bludo's plight at one point when the old man fell ill. He remembered mining twice as hard those few days, scared, but determined to find a way to bring life back into Goron City. He couldn't remember if the liquid running down his face was sweat or tears at the time. He looked straight ahead, the earthy terrain of Death Mountain staring back at him. Yunobo looked down at his hands, flexing his fingers before rolling them into complete fists. "Figures I'd find ya here," croaked an old voice. Off to wayside and slowly making his way up, the boss of the Gorons shuffled his way toward Yunobo. The younger of the two was slightly taken aback, "Boss?! How'd you know I'd be up here, goro? I never told anyone about this bridge." Bludo scoffed, stroking one of his lengthy beard tails, "Who d'ya think helped build this bridge, boy?" Yunobo scratched at the back of his head, "R-Right, sorry, sir..." he'd truthfully forgotten that Bludo helped rebuild Goron City after its last eruption, before he was born. The elder hummed noncommittally, looking out at the same view of Death Mountain as his protege, "Besides, you've been comin' here since ya were justa nugget, I've always known." Bludo's only good eye looked over Yunobo carefully. So different he was from the little scamp that often clung to him twenty years ago. Yunobo was always a timid little thing, constantly terrified of monsters and the rumbles of Death Mountain. The Goron boss couldn't remember a time where he wasn't crying as a kid over when he was. Bludo supposed that's what made him so protective of Yunobo for so long. Looking at him now: he stood tall, strong - Daruk's signature weapon, the Boulder Breaker, sitting across his back just like it was meant to. He was exactly the kind of Goron Bludo had wanted Yunobo to be all along...and yet nothing at all like he had expected. Despite all of his protection and guidance, Yunobo had forged his own path, and now he took on a destiny far greater than the old boss could have ever hoped to prepare him for. It almost made him sad to think about, the fact that Yunobo wouldn't need him anymore. Bludo cleared his throat, "So...a sage, huh?" Yunobo shook his head, his laughter being one of disbelief, "Of all the Gorons in the city, goro, Me! A SAGE!" his hands flew in front of him in incredulity, "Can ya believe it, boss?" Bludo blinked once, a flashback of this tiny Goron child crying out for him before the vision was gone by his second blink. A hearty, but wistful smile crossed the old man’s face. With a resounding clap, his hand smacked onto Yunobo’s shoulder, “I can, son.”  Yunobo turned to his mentor, swallowing back the rock that threatened to settle in his throat, “S-Sir...?”  Bludo smiled wider now, “Ya saved Goron City, Yunobo,” the Goron chief settled his eye on him, “Ya did good, boy.”  This truly choked up Yunobo, eyes glassy from the praise of the Goron he looked up to most. Trying his hardest not to cry, Yunobo quickly extended his hand out to Bludo, “I swear I’ll make you proud, boss!”  The old man looked down at Yunobo’s hand, grasping it tightly before immediately yanking him forward. Yunobo stumbled in a yelp, only to be caught by his mentor, who wrapped a strong arm around his back. It took a moment for the Goron champion to realize what was happening before his eyes truly blurred over and he returned his boss’s embrace. Bludo pat the solid rocks of Yunobo’s back, “Already am, son, already am.”

say for a fun a Headcanons all the champions reactions to hearing that there S/O returned from an exercise trip to get fit and thy see there S/O is all buff and has a 6 pack.
A buddy of mine saw the Champion's s/o take their shirt off in the shower and he said that they had an 8-pack... That the Champion's s/o is shredded.
In all seriousness though, this is a very unique request! I like when you guys keep me on my toes.
Putting this under a read more so its not too long :)
The Champions reacting to their s/o coming back absolutely ripped
Link
He would have the most fun in this situation. Age of Calamity canonically confirms Link is a freak of nature, who can parry entire slabs of floor with ease. Having his s/o come back absolutely ripped would be like woah.
He'd check out his s/o's muscles before giving an enthusiastic thumbs up.
But overall, not much would really change! Link isn't really one to necessarily make a big deal out of appearances or ability, so he'd just act the same toward his s/o as he did before they got buff. Though he'd offer for them to come along with him if he's going for a run or something.
Link would want to see how many things they can lift, including himself.
To keep those muscles, you need protein. Link likes to cook... if they asked, he'd make a super cool protein-filled dish for his s/o just to try it out.
Urbosa
"Why didn't you let me tag along?" is probably the first thing she'd say. She's an athletic woman with a six-pack of her own, she'd want to experience whatever challenge her s/o faced to get this buff.
She'd offer to exercise with them to help them keep it up, or just for fun. She's proud of their ability.
Urbosa would want to start training her s/o to use a weapon like hers, if they didn't already. She likes someone who can defend themself properly.
Would playfully punch her s/o's abdomen and be like "Hard as steel! Nice."
But we all know Urbosa would love her s/o no matter what they looked like. What she's really amazed with is their dedication to exercise that much to even get a six-pack. She knows how much training you have to do to get there. Its hard, unforgiving work sometimes.
Daruk
"You look different from the last time I saw you. Did you do something with your hair?"
Daruk isn't being stupid, he just isn't one to necessarily... notice changes like that in someone's body. His own body is what he worries about.
But after seeing how strong his s/o has become, he's super proud of them! Though he tends to overestimate their ability a bit too much.
"Try lifting this boulder- wait, what do you mean you can't? Thinking like that won't get you anywhere!"
Would offer his s/o Prime Rock Roast to "help with bulking up" if he hasn't tried that already. Definitely would get them a sized version of his weapon to have them swing around.
Makes a joke about "rock hard abs".
Revali
"Where on Earth did you go?" Is probably his thought. One minute his s/o was their usual self, and the next they're suddenly super muscular and able to do things they couldn't before.
But really, that's of no consequence to him. His s/o is free to do whatever they want with their body. He'll still love them.
Seeing as the Rito's main form of, well, almost everything involves being in the air, he can't really physically train with his s/o, but he'll fly above them if they go for a run or idly watch them while doing something if they decide to exercise at home.
The Rito diet is already really good for keeping muscle, so there's nothing to worry about there! But he'd probably suggest they eat a little more if they're particularly active.
May or may not side-eye his s/o's abs while they're working out. Not in a bad way.
Mipha
Mipha would honestly just tell her s/o they look great! "I see you've been working hard!"
Swimming is a great physical activity. She'd love to do that with her s/o as a form of training/exercise, praising them a lot as they make their way through the water.
Mipha definitely loves her s/o no matter what, so her demeanor also wouldn't really change much. She'd just appreciate their vitality.
If asked to feel her s/o's abs, she'd probably touch them very lightly before taking her hand away and getting a little flustered. That feels very intimate to her.
She'd be very worried if her s/o chose to take up a weapon if they didn't have one already. She knows they're capable, but its still so tense to watch!

anyway here’s my of Goron research so far:
There are no female gorons (none appeared in canon which means I get to call them a masculine nonbinary race hell yeah)
Because of this, “Brother” is more of a gender neutral term that they would use on female travelers (kinda like how “dude” is used), unless they’re told otherwise. Because most gorons probably wouldn’t know the difference. * Daruk knows because he’s met Urbosa and by extension the rest of the Gerudo who use terms like “Sister” which he’s adopted to hold the same significance.
By the way, being a Goron Brother is a really big deal. You’re one of them. They will fight and die for their brothers. Again, Daruk considers his fellow champions “Brothers” (and Sisters!) which he literally did fight and die for. :)
Feats of strength are also a big deal in their culture. The strongest gorons end up being highly respected-- again, lookin’ at u, Daruk. He is the strongest.
They can withstand extreme heat but that doesn’t mean they can go swimming in lava. Daruk can handle a lot more than your average goron, though even he could get burned if he cannonballed into Death Mountain’s crater.
Speaking of swimming: they can’t. As the old saying goes, they swim “like a rock.” Straight to the bottom.
Their favorite ore to eat is actually similar to the minerals we eat: iron, calcium, zinc, etc. Iron is the tastiest and very abundant in the local cuisine of rock roast and rock sirloin.

Happy 4th anniversary of botw everybody!! And as celebration here’s some personal headcanons and theories!
Mipha’s zora age is probably around 75 - 85 putting her probably 17 or 18 in actuality
Revali is also 17. Those little red blush marks give it away.
Speaking of those blush marks. Rito tend to lose them in their early 20s
Teba didn’t lose his until his mid 20′s and gets angry and flustered if anyone brings it up
Urbosa did have feelings for the late Queen Hyrule
Daruk’s the dad of the group no you can’t change my mind
Mipha is in love with Link but does have a tiny crush on Revali
The new champions where pleasantly surprised that the divine beasts lets them pilot them since back in their time they helped Link attack the damn things. The most surprised where “Blow that bitch out off the sky” Teba and “I’ve been using my body as a cannonball to hit the divine beast” Yunobo
Once it finally clicks that Link isn’t the one from their time the new champs always feel like there’s something not right with him and they don’t know what it is but it bothers the hell out of them
Sidon has a lot of pent up rage which is why he really likes fighting
Sidon's not the best at expressing himself and plus he's got ✨ depression✨
Sidon and Teba are around the same age both being around late 20's and early 30's
Also sorry to say this but Sidon isn't a himbo that finding a Hylian to save the domain was too smart for himbo status
Teba on the other hand is a complete impulsive dumbass who’s probably has adhd
The reason Yunobo doesn’t use a weapon when he fights is because while he was fighting once his weapon broke and the fear drive took over and he pushed the lights out of a monster and found out he’s really good at hand combat
Riju’s actually short for a 12 year old gerudo she should be around 5′6 by now. She’s hoping she’ll have a late growth spurt
Riju’s not very open about it but she’s got bad anxiety and likes to talk about it with her cool voe friends
The Link in Riju’s time taught her lots of things like how to use a bomb for mad ups with your shield and how to deflect a guardian's laser
Riju’s also jealous that Link can eat rocks but she can’t
When the new champions go back to their timeline they hope that they all become friends in the new timeline
Malice can only take effect on things that souls are still barley intact to a body or something like that
So am I saying that the guardians are powered by souls and once malice got in those said souls took the opportunity to turn on Hyrule for it’s horrid experiments. Mayhaps
Or maybe malice is a bunch of people’s souls blended together and take over the dead or strong people to possess (think of the splatoon 2 dlc ending or the cluster from Steven universe)
The fact that the old champions didn’t get possessed by malice is a miracle
Also if you saw my other post you already know that I think the blights are the champions from 10,000 years ago
Link is also related to the hero of time and my proof is the fact that he can eat rocks and you know who can turn into a goron and do that the hero of time ( I could also point of that there is plenty of times where it’s been stated that it seems like Link can slow down time. Plus this twink’s really strong. Kinda like god like strength and mmmh who could turn into a god I wonder)  Link being able to eat rocks proves a bigger family tree
Link also has the power to see into the past or other people’s memory because come on how else would he be able to see the memories from the dlc he wasn’t there!!!
100 years ago kid Sidon and Link used to hate each other. Yes I'm saying Link wanted to throw hands with a 7 year old and kid Sidon would gladly fight him.
Kass is a fucking cryptid

Does anyone else headcanon that Princess Zelda from Breath of the Wild is neurodivergent? I mean, I could just be projecting or grasping at straws, but bear with me here. Also, this is going to include mainly evidence from BotW and the book Creating a Champion because I haven’t had the time to sit down and play Age of Calamity all the way thru yet.
First of all, Zelda has hyperfixations/special interests.
1. Sheikah technology
On page 379 in the book Creating a Champion, it states that “she was able to restore ancient technology to a working state, putting her technological prowess on par with that of Sheikah researchers of the time.” Remember, she’s 16 here, and she knows so much about Sheikah tech that she is on par with other Sheikah researchers who are probably decades older than her.
In Memory #3: Resolve and Grief, she rambles about the Divine Beasts.
In Memory #4: Daruk’s Mettle, she is literally working on Divine Beast Vah Rudania all by herself. She is 16 years old and she knows how to fix giant 10,000 year old machines by herself.
In Memory #12: Father and Daughter, she’s observing some Sheikah scientists working on a guardian, and she knows exactly what’s going on.
In King Rhoam’s Journal it says, “Zelda's eyes lit up like a wildfire when I told her about the relics... I must admit, she has a knack for research.” This is before the Queen’s death. She’s like 5 years old here and she’s already researching advanced ancient technology. She got into Sheikah tech very young, so ancient technology is probably a hyperfixation/special interest of hers that has lasted for years.
Also, since neurodiveregnt people tend to know a hell of a lot about their hyperfixations/special interests, it would make sense that Zelda’s vast knowledge of ancient technology and wildlife comes from her being hyperfixated on those subjects.
2. Flora and Fauna
In Memory #9: Silent Princess, Zelda captures a frog and immediately starts infodumping to Link about the scientific properties of frogs. Her eyes literally light up and she starts talking extremely fast, which is something that I definitely do when infodumping.
In that same memory, she talks about how useful the flowers are for a variety of things, showing that she knows the different uses of all of those flowers.
Also in Memory #9, she rambles about the Silent Princess.
In her study, you can see a lot of plants that she grew and studied.
Zelda also seems to have issues with social cues, and she’s just not good at social interactions in general.
In Memory #9, Zelda seems to not notice that Link is uncomfortable when she shoves the frog towards him and continues to try to get him to eat the frog.
In Memory #12, when King Rhoam asks Zelda what she’s doing, instead of just answering the question, she goes on to ramble about guardians. Her father was clearly upset and didn’t want to hear about guardians, but she started to talk about them anyway.
She also seems to misinterpret social cues, like when she mistook Link’s silence as hatred.
She’s also extremely closed off and never tells people about her problems. Like when her mom died and she didn’t cry at her funeral and didn’t even open up about it until a year later.
Zelda doesn’t seem to have many friends. Like at all.
Literally her only friends are Impa, Purah, Robbie, Urbosa, and later on Link. That’s really not a lot of people, and almost none of them are her age.
Also, she has trouble seeing other people’s problems and emotions and putting herself in other peoples’ shoes, like when she wrote in her diary, “Everyone has struggles that go unseen by the world... I was so absorbed with my own problems, I failed to see his.”
Zelda has issues with emotions.
She clearly has many issues dealing with and expressing her emotions (although this could just be from trauma but still).
When things go wrong, she tends to get extremely upset. A perfect example of this is Memory #5: Zelda’s Resentment. She was extremely depressed and frustrated with her duty and Link, and the shrine not working for her just made her more upset. When Link came along and found her, she blew up at him for merely doing his job.
Also, she didn’t cry during her mother’s funeral because she felt she had to be strong. Her mother died when she was 6.
She didn’t even open up about her pain until a year later, when she passed out in the Spring of Power and Urbosa had to get her out. As far as we know, Urbosa was the only person who Zelda opened up to growing up.
She also has issues with criticism and perceived criticism.
When her father berated her for “ignoring her duty,” she wrote in her diary, “I was so frustrated and ashamed I could not even speak.”
Also, she saw Link’s silence as hatred, and she got extremely defensive and self conscious.
Zelda is extremely impulsive.
She ran off on Link during Memory #5 because she wanted to investigate a shrine, although she could’ve easily been attacked by monsters or the Yiga Clan, or she could’ve just gotten hurt in general.
In Memory #7: Blades of the Yiga, she went out into the extremely dangerous desert on her own, which almost resulted in her death.
She also tried to get Link to eat a frog completely out of the blue because she wanted to do an experiment.
Miscellaneous evidence:
Zelda is extremely rigid with rules, to the point where she prays everyday for 10 years and even puts her health at risk to pray.
She has anxiety to the point where it can keep her up at night (this is from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity), and although anxiety isn’t a requirement to be neurodivergent, it’s often comorbid with things like adhd or autism.
So I mean yeah, that’s my evidence. I know that you could probably say that a lot of these issues come from trauma or insecurity and her love of science could just come from extreme intelligence, but I like to think that she’s also neurodivergent. Don’t get me wrong, she definitely has a lot of trauma and issues, and I also headcanon her as being like genius levels of smart, but I think it’s interesting to think of her as neurodivergent too.

could I request a champion! reader with any pairing? I don’t care who it is to be honest, I just never see any champion reader fics and I think it’s a cool idea 😔 maybe something having to do with earth/stone/gems/etc? Maybe the DB is a mole of some sort, has the same properties (?) as a stone talus? Maybe it digs around underground and it’s attack (during ganon) is to resurface right under the player so they get tossed up? Just throwing ideas around but I think it would be pretty nifty :)
That’s literally such a good idea, holy crap :0 I’m going to do headcanons with these because there are literally so many things to touch upon I don’t think a scenario would be very good lol. And for characters... Mipha and Revali :)
warnings: none!
-Princess Mipha-
Mipha was super sweet to you since you were the last divine beast pilot appointed to the group, and since stressful times really make people bond, it wasn’t long before you two were official
Daruk and Urbosa think you’re a sweet couple and 10/10 would die to see the two of you happy. They’ve been supportive of you two since the start, and probably helped encourage one of you to ask the other out
And then Revali’s just a downright loving? tease about the two of you
You and Mipha often help one another practice with your divine beasts. She helps by teaching you to navigate underground pools of water safely, since you sometimes can’t help but travel through them
In turn, you use your knowledge of the earth to teach her how to safely navigate Vah Ruta through rocky terrain
And though your fighting styles are very different, you still train together
Your fighting style is blunt, rough, and powerful. You manipulate the earth just enough to propel yourself into enemies, send boulders crashing down on them, or bring up slates of rocks to act as shields
Mipha thinks it’s really cool!!! And she’ll cheer you on from the sidelines!!! And greet you with smiles and little compliments :)))
Even when you’re not training, you sometimes just hang out on the divine beasts for the fun of it. Vah Ruta offers an amazing view of Zora’s Domain, especially at night when the luminous stone is glowing and the rush of water fills the air
Hanging out on your divine beast is cool too, because you can show Mipha all these amazing underground structures you’ve discovered. And under all the rock, it’s probably the most peaceful privacy either of you will ever get in your busy lives
Baby Sidon thinks you’re the coolest person ever btw :) When Mipha first introduced the two of you. He rambled on and on about how Mipha always gushed about how talented and brave and strong and funny you were
And poor Mipha is just standing there like an adorable blushing mess
-Revali-
When you first joined the group, he was honestly annoyed that there was yet another person he had to share the role of divine beast pilot with
Of course, his annoyance just made you want to get to know him better, whether it be out of spite or genuine friendliness. Slowly but surely, you managed to become friends, mainly by constantly pestering him
To this day, none of the other champions knows how you managed to rope him into a relationship, but somehow you did
You often train together or have little competitions because being competitive is just in Revali’s nature
He shows off a lot in front of you and always tries to act all strong and confident, and though he may just nod at your compliments, he thinks about them all the time
You have a bit of a fear of heights since you’re more accustomed to being underground, so you were really nervous when he suggested taking you up to Vah Medoh. He was an insistent tease though, and you soon found yourself being flown up to Vah Medoh
He only grumbled once about how tight you were holding onto his feathers, but aside from that he was quite considerate. He kept the flight smooth and even, with no sudden dives or twists or anything
He could tell that you were still nervous up there, so when you started getting tired, he let you curl up against his soft feathers and fall asleep
That’s something he lets you do quite often, since he has such a soft spot for you you once feel asleep in his arms during a champion meeting and Urbosa never stopped teasing him
And, of course, if you went up to Vah Medoh, you’re dragging him down to your divine beast. It took some reassurance (and teasing) from you, but he finally did agree to visit your divine beast
He tried to act all calm and cool, but he didn’t stray a foot from your side until he was certain the two of you wouldn’t be crushed. Though he never verbally said it aloud, he liked it down there. He could actually relax and let his guard down for once
Also, given the nature of your abilities, you end up getting dirty a lot, which usually results in Revali fussing over how messy you are and trying to hurriedly preen you despite your insistence that dirt is nice too

So Sooga gets along with Revali, Sidon, Riju- what about Urbosa and Daruk? I don't think I recall the dynamic between him and the others. And I think Kohga is missing a few too- i guess im asking for headcanons here.
Oh good point. All of these are susceptible to change, so nothing is particularly set in stone.
Sooga;
Enjoys hanging out with Revali. He admires not just his talent, but the fact that he hides his insecurities very well. Match that with his quick wit and their mutual love for making fun of Link honestly makes them buddies. They like to train, have tea, and have a nice crab omlette (Sooga is on and off in terms of how comfortable he is, eating around Revali). Revali, along with every other rito (namely women) have a crush on him. Sooga just, fucking attracts birds for some reason.
Sidon is his close second friend. Big as he is, a lover of fish, Sidon is annoying in a sort of endearing way. He likes fishing, hiking, swimming, collecting shells with him. When they aren't having fun outside or fucking, you'll see them indoors, whittling while Sidon goes on and on about some story. Sooga likes to listen, Sidon loves to talk. They just work.
Riju. Riju is sort of like his niece. He treats her respectfully, but having grown up with six sisters, Sooga has the instinct to care for her. He takes her out for ice cream, he does her nails/hair, listens to her rant, and even helps pet sit Patricia from time to time (and Patricia LOVES him, she blows him kisses all the time). He's also kinda protective. A boy her age tried talking to her, he went missing the next day. Odd I know.
Urbosa. Urbosa acts like HIS older sister, and while women make him uncomfortable, he trusts her more than most. She's always there to give him words of encouragement, always there to help him against some rather hungry ladies- she just has his back. Sometimes they meet up for a nice dessert and talk about what they like in men (Urbosa loves ladies too, but women are lost on Sooga).
Mipha. Sooga and Mipha get along. They aren't at each other’s throats, but Sooga isn't exactly nuts about her. She finds him slightly imposing, he doesn't like being near women-without Kohga, they're awkward with one another.
Teba. Sooga and Teba actually get along pretty well. They're both rather strong and silent types. That is, until Sooga asks about the family life. They end up sitting next to each other, tending to their weapons, while Teba tells him what it's like to be a dad. They're quiet overall.
Daruk. Daruk and Sooga...they co exist. Sooga doesn't hate him, but he isn't a fan. Jealousy from Kohga aside, Sooga doesn't like that he's loud, brazen, VERY touchy, and is constantly trying to get him to eat. Suffice to say, Sooga would prefer anyone else's company (he was once in a room with JUST him and Mipha. It sucked).
Sooga and Yunobo. For some reason, he's chosen to adopt him too, and is constantly acting as his confident. He's constantly making sure he's eaten and slept, and is trying to help him come out of his shell. The 'he asked for no pickles' meme, but in an uncle way. Sooga likes to take him out to smash boulders during the day, and hunt for fireflies at night. Yunobo once fell asleep on him, Sooga didn't have the heart to move him. He had to see a doctor for his back the next day, but worth it.
Link and Sooga have a VERY competitive relationship. They've established early on that they're rivals, and as such, wanna beat each other's shit on a daily basis. They lowkey need to stop hitting each other and just bone, everyone sees it.
The Great faeries. Not champions, but imma include it anyway-they coddle the crap out of him because he's honestly adorable to them. He really. Really wishes they'd stop kissing him, just ONCE. They're all better than Malanya though, for some reason he fucking HATES Sooga.
Zelda. Sooga...does not like Zelda. I'll leave it at that. Let's just say you shouldn't leave them alone together.
Impa/Purah/Robbie. Its fucking on site with Impa, Purah is actually tolerable, and Robbie is just fucking annoying.
Kohga!!;
Kohga of course, LOVES his lil red fishy, Mipha. You kidding me? She's a cherry! An absolutely precious lil ruby! Kohga loves her SO much, she can pretty much just waltz into the clan whenever she pleases, and gets whatever she wants by asking for it. They're ABSOLUTELY bff's. Shopping, cooking, talking about boys and taking selfies, they're practically joined at the hip. I'm telling you, Kohga would end game any bitch if Mipha asked.
Daruk. Kohga LOVES the guy! Not just because he's easy on the eyes, but he's big, loud, rowdy, pair that up with his love for food, and these two can keep each other company FOREVER. Just, be warned if booze is allowed, and may god help your pantry. When they AREN'T raining hell, they spend time at the hot springs, and let me tell you, you've never seen two dudes happier, they're like pigs in shit.
Sidon. Kohga and Sidon get along great! Nice to look at, Sidon is also just a sweetie who just. Does whatever Kohga tells him to. Like Sooga, but dumb as hell. One of the few people that BOTH of them can hang around with. Seriously though, Sidon is a big dumb sweetie, Kohga LOVES it.
Urbosa. Her and Kohga get along, in a sorta 'let's meet for brunch on Sundays' kinda way. It's a casual friendship, and honestly? It's comfortable for them. He's still lowkey scared of her though.
Kohga is Riju's OTHER uncle. He's the more 'tell me about the boys you like' kinda uncle. Total enabler, he lets Riju do all the kid stuff she never really got the chance to do. You wanna play with chalk? Absolutely. You wanna get your shoes dirty? Course! You wanna eat all the candy and go pants a royal guard? He's IN.
Revali is an ass. Full of himself, snarky, and so in the closet, they bicker ALL the fucking time. They don't HATE each other, they just fucking can't get along. They fought over BREAD once.
Teba doesn't love Kohga. He's not quiet, he squirms a lot, and even if he's asleep, he tosses and turns a LOT. Teba just puts up with him, while Kohga thinks he's boring, but nice to look at.
Yunobo is more loved by Sooga than Kohga, but he thinks the kid is a peach. He teaches him how to talk to boys he likes. Can't help with girls though. Still sweet to the poor kid though, always brings him something to eat, because he worries.
Kohga LOVES Link! They both love food (especially fried bananas), Kohga loves Link's antics, Link loves Kohga’s funny dance moves- they just click. You'll often see them napping together after a buffet of food.
The great faeries! He LOVES them!! They're big, they're beautiful, they proud and loud- they are just his gal pals. He knows each ones specific tastes, and its so easy for him to charm the pants off of them during tea time. Don't tell anyone, but Malanya is his favorite, they love talking about horses.
Impa/Purah/Robbie. Kohga doesn't hate Impa, but the girl is SUCH a buzzkill. Instead of going and getting her a girl, she's here, scolding him for some random rule. Smh. He LOVES Purah though. They're TOTAL shutterbugs together, and they both agree that Impa needs to get a girlfriend. Robbie is also a TOTAL babe. Like if dude likes to experiment, Kohga can run some tests on that DI-
Zelda. Kohga...hates that he likes her. She's just a sweet gal, and with a smile like that? He can't hate her. He visits here and there for political reasons, but they do have lunch and catch up. Him and Sooga do sometimes help pick outfits/looks as well. And...well. The royal stables are a HUGE plus (seriously, Kohga SWOONS for her white horse. He jokes that he's more handsome than Sooga. He's half kidding, that fucker is a BEAUTIFUL horse).

A separate anon butting in for the two cents; first, yes!! Ever since I noticed the pronoun thing for Revali, it seemed to me like a big point in favour of him being younger, so I'm glad I'm not the only one! Also (main reason for the ask) re: Mipha's age/Urbosa considering her part of the younger generation: I figured that she IS actually really young, just looks closer to adult size than other young Zora because she's royalty = bigger than regular Zora? Zora are pretty confusing re: age though
Hi! The thing about Zora age is too complex so if you don’t mind I’ll make another post about that when I’m ready. But I mostly feel like people’s “confusion” stems from trying to find a formula to equate Zora age to Hylian (human) age, as if you could say 5 zora years = 1 human year of development. It doesn’t work that way between real humans and other animals and there is no reason why it should with the Zora.
But anyway, Mipha was old enough that she was about to propose marriage to Link and Dorephan was super ready for it. The way she’s so h0rny for Link in her diary is hilarious, but jokes aside, it’s an indicator of her being physically mature too. The fact that Mipha is so short might be her being a really young adult that’s still going to grow to full Zora size (some lizards and marine species never stop growing so) or she just being kinda short for a Zora, just like Sidon happens to be taller than the average instead. Ultimatedly it’s mostly character design and trying to make them stand out among the Zora NPCs by giving them these unique exaggerated traits.
And yeah about Revali’s very interesting pronouns in Japanese, I’ll elaborate more now, the other post got too long (this post, for context for other readers). Like, yes older men who mostly use “ore” might use “boku” sometimes, for instance in front of their boss or even in front of important older people to sound humble, but:
1) Revali is the less humble person in ALL of Hyrule;
2) Revali NEVER switches pronouns. He even uses “boku” in front of Link when they are alone, just the two of them... if Revali was going to switch to “ore” at any point, that would had been the time. So Revali isn’t using “boku” to sound a bit respectful or subdued in front of certain people (royalty like Zelda and Mipha, tribu chiefs like Urbosa and Daruk, etc.).
(More under the cut)
I’ll admit though, “ore” might sound a bit strong for someone like Revali, but he could be using neutral pronouns to avoid “ore”... yet he uses “boku” and the fact remains there are many other hints pointing to him being around Zelda and Link’s age that we already explained on the other post. So the most logical simpler explanation is that he uses “boku” because he’s something of a 16-18 years old male.
Just in case someone is interested: this works very well for those fantastic trans!Revali headcanons too. Not all guys feel comfortable using “ore” even as older adults.
And so, to end this, I want to reiterate: I’m not trying to police people’s headcanons! There is no canon for Revali’s age, just strong hints that he’s something like a late teen or just barely adult. I just like discussing meta and knowing the characters’ ages help me understand them better.
It’s very interesting how the western localizations can make the Japanese fandom and our side of the fandom see the same character so differently. Revali is very condescending in English, so I totally get that he sounds like a 20-something year old guy dismissing Link as just some silly boy with a magic sword. In Japanese, however, the pronouns and tone Revali uses immediatedly tells you that Revali is but a boy himself and he just wants Link to see him as an equal but that would be too lame to say out loud you see Revali has a REPUTATION as stronk Rito Warrior manchild (and this is why people joke that Revali is “tsundere” in Japanese. He’s nicer to Link than in English but in most cases goes very backhandedly about his appreciation for his friend lol).
(Also sorry super late reply the internet started to spoil me Pokemon Snap so I decided to avoid social media for a bit and forgot to finish this draft)

I have the idea of revali who's being an annoying tsundere with reader(kinda the way he acts with link or saying things like "you don't know how lucky you are to be with me") but, one day, reader find a rito mask. When revali sees them, he doesn't recognize them, acts friendly and towards him, making reader fall in love with him. When they confess their love in the rito form, revali deny them saying that he's in love with reader. It can go angst or fluff. Also if the reader could be neutral/male
No problem, it's actually the first time I see headcanons with a male/neutral reader, but I don't deny it, Revali being tsundere it just suits right.
Also, I'm so sorry for taking so long, I imagine a lot of things but it was SO long to write.
I hope you like it ✨
Revali being a tsundere with reader (neutral/male).
Tumblr media
At first, Revali is pretty much of a gentleman.
He's not someone who is disrespectful to other people, less with the Rito.
But he's an asshole with Link and, sadly, you.
The most sad part for Link, is that Revali treats you better.
That doesn't stop him for teasing you A LOT.
He seems that he doesn't mind your company.
No, actually, he doesn't even seems like he cares about you.
But you two always find each other together, for some reason.
I wonder what it could be....
He always invites you to practice with each other.
At first it seems like a really good idea, but....
You always find him overworking himself.
Of course, you're worried about him, but if you get any closer, he'll just pretend he's just fine, like nothing happened.
“You seem like you want to impress someone with all that work...”
“Don't overthink yourself... I do it just for the protection of my village”
“I was going around Rito Village, some guards where talking you've been wondering something about sword or other kinds of weaponry, it's weird since you focus so much on archery”
“You have some problem with me want to know more of how the little knight and you fight? Of course I know this stuff already, I'm a warrior after all”
“Hmm... Link is not going to answer anything, but you can ask me if you want...”
“I could never be a problem in your training”
“Then why you have been inviting me to practice here?”
“I want to be sure you are well prepared, and you must feel so lucky, you're being trained for the great Revali, there's no other archer with my skill”
You two always have this kind of conversations, but Revali always finish them with something egocentric like that.
You didn't like him a lot, he sometimes just acted nice but out of nowhere, he starts acting like a douchebag.
But you see him how he treats other people, like princess Mipha and princess Zelda, he treated them kindly.
One day, wandering at a forest, you found a mask.
A rito mask, there was details that resemble their marks, it had some kind of beak.
You out of curiosity, grabbed it and use it thinking it was just a mask.
But seconds after you transform into a Rito.
Terrified you go running to the Rito village, probably to find princess Zelda, Link or other Champion except for Revali.
“Alright... Revali is always on the practice range, there's no way he's gonna be on the same time as you at Rito Village”.
Surprise ✨he was at the same time as you in Rito Village✨
You thought he was going to notice it was you, and start make fun of you.
But he didn't even notice it.
He treated you... Well, normally, with respect, without mocking you or anything.
“I never saw you in Rito Village, are you a traveler?”
You just nodded at that question, in fear he might recognize your voice.
“You can't talk? I have encounter some Rito with that disability”
Oh he didn't even react like he reacted with Link, and you thought he didn't like the ones who don't talk.
You decide to talk, since you don't know how is the sign language with the Rito, and you would not take risks with this.
“No, I do not have any type of disability”
You prayed to Hylia so he can't recognize your voice.
He was kind of surprised, you don't know if it was your voice or that you can talk.
“My mistake, I don't want to be disrespectful with any Rito, what's your name?”
"Shitshitshitshitshitshit, now what I'm going to do?" You thought in exasperation.
You came up with a random name but enough to be Rito like.
He didn't mind, he still treated you like a friend.
“Are you gonna stay some days? There's a flight range on the Hebra Mountain, you can go and practice any time you want, if something happens, you can find me all day there unless I'm busy with Vah Medoh”
Maybe you wanted to continue talking to him in your rito form.
You two started spending more time together.
You were really worried for the mask.
When it's going to let go? What are you even supposed to do?
You tried to find out anything about mask that transform you into completely different species.
Sadly, you didn't find much, just some old tales, but nothing out of that.
You continue spending time with Revali even going to the flight range.
You come up with excuses, he believe them.
You fall in love with him, he never treated you like that.
You decide to confess your feelings.
It didn't go as planned...
He didn't feel the same.
You contained the crying, you were kind of used to that.
“My apologies, but... I already have someone else who I'm actually interested in, he's the most strong, intelligent Hylian and their beauty is... Unexplainable, I might have the ability of defeating, singlehandedly, an army of monsters, but once he's there, my eyes can't stop looking at them... I must reject this confession, but I'm proud of at least young Rito are interested in becoming better then me, I have to go... There's some matters with the Champions, and it's important, excuse me...”
Now I write it, this seems like Revalink, not my favorite ship but holy cow.
You need to take that mask off, NOW.
You had no other choice but to tell the Champions.
You go as fast you could.
You didn't know how to fly, at least for too long.
You get to the castle and asked to see the Champions.
Of course.... They didn't let you.
Because, you know... A weird Rito just asking to see the Champions.
Then you asked to at least know where Impa was, you said it was important.
That time they took you with her.
“My apologies, but one of the appointed knights of the princess is missing, we haven't know about him for days, please tell anyone else about your problem, I'm occupied with their research”
“I think I know where they are...”
You explained everything to Impa except for the part of falling in love with Revali.
Of course, she didn't believe at first, but when you continue explaining and saying things that no one else does just.... You, she believed you.
“Then what's your excuse of not telling the champions?”
“Being fair, I thought it would make no difference and Revali makes it worst”
“ You're Zelda's appointed knight, not a teenager with anxiety, you must know that you must be brave in order to protect your princess, let's go with Purah, she must know about this”
You two decide to try keep it secret, but sadly, the Champions were with Purah.
“Who is this unexpected guest Impa?”
“Your majesty, they have something to explain, please hear closely, it might sound crazy but it's not”
You tried to explain everything the best you could, omitting the part of Revali, you just said that you never talked to him.
Revali was more then surprised, Urbosa was calmed about it, Daruk and Mipha were confused. Zelda and Link were curious about it, but he just watch form behind.
Purah didn't knew much about but she did everything she could to help you.
It was kind of difficult to take oof the mask, but you made it.
Ngl, it was a little bit painful.
The mask disappeared after they remove it.
Purah asked you how do you found that mask and you answered.
After it, Revali asked you to talk in private, he seemed distracted.
You go to somewhere private and talked with Revali, first of all, he apologized for acting the way he does with you and for not at least recognizing your voice.
“I've been worried about you all those days, wandering where you could be, the guards didn't find a sign of you anywhere, I feared that... Some of those Yiga members where captured you or worst...”
“I'm just one of the assigned knights for Zelda, also I can't use the master sword or posses any kind of magic that can destroy Ganon they might see me just as another guard”
“It doesn't matter, all the Champions were worried about you...”
“I know.... Also, about what I said to you in the rito form... Can you forget about it? Please”
He smirked, he seemed to take that as a joke.
“I could never forget the confession of the most important Hylian for me”
“That's the thing, on the moment I wasn't a Hylian, I was a Rito, it seems you liked me better like that...”
“That's not true, if I liked you better as a rito, I would have accept your confession”
“I don't think being a Hylian would change anything...”
“Who told you that? I can't recall mentioning that”
If I continue writing dialogue, this will be a frickin one-shot, and I already have a lot to edit.
You two decide to spend more time together with some conditions.
Revali will be honest and you don't disappear out of nowhere and for a long time.
After spending time together, the bond between you and him was pretty solid for a relationship.
Revali never let go his tsundere side, but he can't help it.
And rest is history.....

Yo what if the Champions’ spirits stuck around long enough to train the next gen? Hcs for that?
*blows dust off of ask* Sorry this took so long, hope you weren’t too comfy sitting in my inbox there. Alrighty! Time for some
Training Montages *Rocky Theme Plays* (Headcanons)
Credit to @champion-of-the-sky for some help with the hcs
Ok, the first part of this post it just gonna be some of my thoughts into how the Divine Beasts actually work, because that’s kinda of necessary information if you wanna train them. So here is another one of my big boi head canon posts because sometimes I can’t shut up.
So firstly, the Divine Beasts can draw immense power from Hyrule which is stored over time and charges their giant laser thingys (Naboris draws power from the earth and makes electricity, Ruta takes in water from the atmosphere, Rudania is fire boy, Medoh has wind and thermal (from the atmosphere) generators, etc. etc.)
The Ancient Sheikah were like “hey wow these are really powerful beasts so maybe we should make sure that no one unworthy gets their hands on them”
Their solution was to have a spiritual bond between the beast and the pilot. Each Divine Beast has their own “soul” or personality and can judge someone of being worthy of piloting them. And only that person would have the power to use the Divine Beast to its full potential (AKA use the giant Anti-Ganon lasers)
Ergo, the Champions
When the died 100 years ago, their spirits stuck around because Ganon need to trap their spirits in order to get the Divine Beasts to actually work
[And then this would be a good segue-way into that cool idea where the Link has to fight the Champions taken over by malice, instead of the blights. BUT we’re not talking about that today]
Ok, so you know the story. Link frees the Divine Beasts from Ganon’s grasp. The spirits of the dead Champions command a legendary blow against the blight of Hyrule. Zelda and Link help save the day. Yay!
HOWEVER! The Champions are still there, their spirits persist.Turns out their spirits cannot go away, because the Divine Beasts don’t really wanna go without an owner, considering they’ve been controlled by Ganon for 100 years, so fair.
Basically, the Beasts wont let the spirit of their old pilots go until they find a suitable successor
Enter, new gen Champs!
Daruk/Yunobo
Training with a Divine Beast is not unlike trying to form a bond with a real animal. In fact, the Beasts do behave with a mind of their own, so that might as well be an on point analogy
Daruk struggled with Rudania because its personality was very stubborn and blunt, much like the Goron race anyhow. As said in my other post, Rudania’s personality clashes with the playful and loving nature of Daruk
The only reason Daruk even got the handle on things was becuase Link forced him to spend a whole day in the Divine Beast. We can only speculate that from that time, Daruk must have somehow formed a mutual respect or protective bond with the giant lizard
So essentially, when he’s training Yunobo, he does the exact same thing
“You just gotta walk around for a bit, Yunobo. Get a feel for ol’ Rudania. They’re a grump, but you’ll get along.”
“G-get a feel? We’re surrounded by lava! What if I mess up? What if your Divine B—”
“Your, Divine Beast”
“Right, right… but what if it doesn’t like me and tips my into Death Mountain’s core!”
Daruk gives a hearty laugh. “Kid, you helped save ol’ Ruddy from Ganon, remember? You’ve already got a good bond going. So just walk around for a bit and just take ‘em all in. Good luck!”
And he slams the door behind him, leaving Yunobo in the dark
But he’ll eventually get around to forming a bond. But Rudania’s probably a little grumpy that they’ve gone from reckless pilot who laughs too much, to timid teenager gifted with a powerful champion ability that he is self-conscious about
Daruk is hella encouraging with Yunobos training. The kid will eventually be the second best with his Beast. Daruk is patient with Yunobo because he sees himself in him. And he also teaches him some cool tricks like if you tilt Rudania just right, you get a cool slip and slide ramp that’s perfect for the hot springs
Urbosa/Riju [not a lot for these guys bcs I’m lazy and this post is long anyway]
Urbosa would be playful with Riju when they train, making goofy jokes about things, letting out a quick joke to lessen and tension Riju might feel from her anxiety to lead her people. At the same time, she also explains things with good detail
Riju is third best with her beast. Occasionally, she’ll be intimidated by Naboris’ strength and power, especially considering she had an incident with Patricia the Sand Seal back when it was shooting lightning everywhere
However, she’s the one to ask the most questions, half of which Urbosa can’t answer. She’s got that childish curiosity that serves well in her understanding of Naboris
Mipha/Sidon [also not a lot because using your imagination can be hard]
Mipha and Sidon just act like siblings, much to both of their delight. It’s less of training, and more of catching up on everything over the last a hundred years on top of a giant elephant.
Because they’re siblings, Mipha pulls little pranks on her little brother on purpose. But neither are really annoyed by it, as they both laugh it off
Like Mipha will tell Sidon to stand in a certain spot to see how the parts of Ruta move. Then she makes Ruta move in such away to splash the poor prince in gallons of water
You’re gonna ruin his handkerchief Mipha!
Sidon is the best at managing his Divine Beast out of the four, for not only does he have a strong bond with the previous pilot, but he gets along well with Ruta’s playful personality
Revali/Teba
Local birds butt heads because they’re both egotistical idiots
Revali continues to be as dramatic as usual, while also maintaining his image by claiming that Teba will probably never master Medoh as well as him
Teba respects Revali given that he was his childhood hero. Yet at the same time Revali isn’t exactly what he expected, and he’s not down to take this sass from a teenager
Perfect storm of dumb banter, because both have reluctance in the whole situation
Teba gives out a groan, frustrated. “Argh! This damn bird wont start its propellers. How do I get it to work?”
“Perhaps Medoh is still tired. After all, you’ve been complaining none stop all day.”
“Right, my voice is the problem.”
“Why don’t you sing her a lullaby, she’s probably so sleepy.”
Teba scoffs, “You’re kidding. There’s no way that would work. Beside, there’s no way I’m sing—”
“Why don’t you hold your tongue, my dear apprentice,” another groan escapes Teba, “You’re going to hurt Medoh’s feelings with that attitude. Tulin is your son, yes? Surely you’ve sung a tune or two back in his fledgling days?”
“Sure, but I’m not gonna—”
“Medoh wants to hear you s i n g~”
Revali is strict with his training, and Teba probably struggled with Medoh the most out of the four, considering that before Link came along, he had the mindset of killing Medoh.
Teba still repescts everything Revali is doing, making sure to call him “Master Revali.” And though he would never admit it, Revali’s feathers would always fluff with pride at the notion of it
Also he’s gonna call Teba his pupil/apprentice throughout the entire session
Angsty moment: when each Champion thinks their apprentice is ready, THAT’S the time they get their final rest and their spirits move on. Like, imagine Sidon wanting to Master Ruta to make his sister proud, but at the same time the day he does is when she is gone for good.
That looks like a good note to end off of! So yay :)

Pre-established relationships headcanons
Tumblr media
Since Aryll is sort of a pre-established character in the AU where I write her, I thought I’d come up with some headcanons for her opinions on canon characters. Of course these are not putting any boundary to future interactions, but in case a mutual wants to go with pre-established relationships, these could be some ideas to work with!
Tumblr media
Link: thought it was rather obvious, but I am still gonna write about it here. Aryll has a strong admiration for her brother, who is her first and most important confidant. She hasn’t missed how his new duty might create some distance between them, so she will always do her best to make the most of the time she can share with him, following him on his quests whenever possible.
Tumblr media
Zelda: at first Aryll kinda kept her guard up around Zelda, as she hasn’t missed how the princess has been critical towards Link when he was appointed as a knight. Overall, she thinks Zelda is a nice person who has to deal with an awful lot of responsabilities, which can compromise her friendliness at times. Nonetheless, Aryll is grateful to Zelda for allowing her into the Royal library and, when the occasion allows it, to let her followe her brother on his missions. That does help her getting a more positive opinion on the princess as time goes by.
Tumblr media
Mipha: Aryll likes Mipha a lot. She thinks she’s a gentle soul and a loyal friend for her brother. Since has been knowing her for a long time, Aryll is kinda aware that there might be some tenderness in Mipha’s care for Link that goes beyond friendship. She mildly ships them, but does her best to keep it to herself, as it’s her brother’s choice in the end.
Tumblr media
Revali: despite Revali’s open dislike for Link, Aryll finds him so theathrical she can’t really take his sour words for serious, encouraged by the fact that Link seems to ignore Revali’s taunts as well. She actually finds him rather funny, and is deeply curious about him as he can fly, hence reach heights she can only dream of when climbing around.
Tumblr media
Daruk: Aryll is slightly scared of Gorons, and downright terrified by Daruk. He’s loud, huge, and does a poor job on controlling his strength. While she knows he’s a nice one, she can’t help but cower in fear whenever she sees him.
Tumblr media
Urbosa: Aryll loves the motherly and fierce vibe Urbosa gives. Of all the Champions, Aryll thinks the Gerudo leader is the one that feels more like an actual powerful celebrity, but due to how much she admires her, Aryll can be rather shy when approaching her. She does slightly hype inwardly whenever they interact.
Tumblr media
King Rhoam: She finds him daunting and does her best to keep away from him when she can.
Tumblr media
Sidon: Aryll can relate to Sidon’t admiration for his older sister, finding it rather endearing. She also thinks he’s a quirky little prince, as depicted in this sketchy comic, but does play along with his odd ideas of marriage, as she would never crush a child’s fantasy.
Tumblr media
Impa, Purah, and Robbie: while Aryll is fascinated by the Sheikah’s gimmicks, she does often struggle to keep up with their creative quick-thinking. Overall, she finds them interesting but slightly weird.

for the ask meme, since you've done Link, Zelda, and Mipha, might as well do the other champions? If you're still doing these
I was going 2 wait till 2morrow but like. If i dont now Idk if i will!! I'll answer 1 and reblog it with my other answers
Daruk:
Sexuality Headcanon: AroAce.
Gender Headcanon: Daruks gender is Grandpa. Not male r anything just grandpa.
A ship I have with said character: A good rock roast. Get that man some food
A BROTP I have with said character: Link n Daruk r broes they probably have eating contests
A NOTP I have with said character: I dont like the idea of shipping Daruk with anyone 2 be honest
A random headcanon: Daruk wld factkin Guy Fieri even though he doesnt know what any of that means. /j .
General Opinion over said character: Same stuff I said abt the other champions I love him a lot n think hes rly neat. He was my favorite 4 a bit but now i love all of them. Hes my grandpa now and hes absolutely the grandpa of the other champions+zelda. (Except maybe Urbosa.) I love how hes both big and strong but also soft and caring. I love the scene after u free him from the divine beast and Yunobo sees him with Link and waves at him. Tht makes me so happy and its one of my favorite scenes in the game.

Hi there! There are two things that I want to do. First, tell you how much of an amazing person you are and how much I love your writing! Keep going strong! Secondly, how about some Sidon, Yunobo, Daruk, Revali, and Teba reacting to having their s/o take multiple photos of them in the hopes of creating a scrapbook of memories for them to look back on?
Thank you!!! I know I haven’t been on much due to a cocktail of depression, arm brace and just stress, so I really appreciate it sweetie! I’ll keep doing my best!
And heck yea you can have some sweet headcanons!

Scrapbooking s/o (BOTW)
Sidon
The second takes a picture of him, he’s immediately curious as to what they’re up to. Why were they taking pictures? And why did they seem rather shy about it?
Has no idea what scrapbooking is, mostly due to the fact that photos aren’t a really common thing, but is delighted when s/o explains it to him.
From then on, Sidon almost always ask for one photo whenever they do something fun together. Might “borrow” the camera and sneak a few of his own in.
Yunobo
“E-eh? You want to take pictures of me, goro?”
He’s a bit (hella) camera shy so he’s not quite sure with the idea of it at first. What if his hair looks bad? Is his smile too goofy? Bluno keeps photo-bombing, how is this going to work???
But, again, the fact that its such a sweet and heartfelt concept gets him to open up more, and with time Yunobo even makes a few suggestions!
Daruk
“A photo? GWAHAHA why didn’t you just ask?”
He doesn’t even need to know why- if s/o wants a photo, then s/o is going to get a photo! Doesn’t mind how many they get of him too, though s/o will struggle to get one of him relaxed- somehow he always manages to pose showing off his muscles.
Might be moved to tears when they show him the finished product- he wasn’t expecting it at all! Will sit with s/o and go through all the memories smiling.
Revali
“Get my good-side!”
Another one who doesn’t really question it at first. They want a photo, he’s pose epicly! So long as he’s in flight, that is. The second they’re taking photos of him, like... reading, he’ll be more self-conscious and ask.
Might not admit it to anyone, but when he does see the finished product he needs a moment to make sure he doesn’t get tears in the scrapbook. He’s really touched and loves it!
Teba
The reason he finds out s/o is photographing him is because they can’t get a single shot of him not moving! Everytime they try to take a shot, even if he’s sitting, they somehow wind up with a blur.
Is... unsure how to feel about photos, bu t knowing what the end product will be warms his heart and gets him to sit down and stay still for pictures.
Loves the scrapbook, and anytime he’s feeling nervous or uneasy, going through it relaxes him quite a bit.

Can’t forget about BEST DAD.
Not only has he adopted the younger Champions being the local Dad Friend with a whole compendium of rock-based dad jokes--
Daruk actually has a son.
That screaming baby goron from Majora’s Mask? That’s the one. Precious angel.
I figured-- Daruk admires Darmani a lot. Darmani’s hailed even in his time as a great heroic warrior who would and did give his life for his people. He’s got a whole big statue carved into the mountain that Daruk quite literally looks up to. (And then Daruk’s statue is put right above Darmani!!) But also-- Darmani’s statue is holding that goron kid!! And that kid really looked up to Darmani as his own dad. I thought it would be nice to complete the circle to give them that little parallel.
Also, small ‘oof’ because Darmani died before that kid got to grow up and, uh, Daruk--
