Raihan, with all the changes I gave him over on Kisenth! Piercings acquired through his teenager years, a tattoo which came early on in his gymleader position, and a scar he gets later on when Hades arrives to Galar, which ends up with him stabbed twice, and in a coma for several weeks. 

Regardless, he’s doing juuuuust fine in the aftermatch, and has no shame about showing it!

August 8 - Happy Birthday Kira~!!!

And thank you all for dealing with this dumb champ who generally means well but doesn’t always know the best way to go about things! You’re the ones making the experience all the more great!!!

Kira tends to keep her birthday pretty small scale -- a small thing at home with parents and closest friends. She doesn’t really need gifts to be honest ; she wasn’t raised a materialistic person. Instead, she’s just happy to have people who want to spend time with her, and appreciates it every time they do. Of course, when she does recieve presents, she’ll show proper appreciation ( but thoughtful and small is much preferred over expensive! )

Sometimes she just celebrates with a friend on another day -- mostly in the form of having fun and doing something together and calling it celebrating ( because a birthday is just as good an excuse as ever to hang out, no? ).

With her Johtonian family, her birthday is celabrated the visit that’s closest to the date : whether before or after. This is done with a large meal at the Kouyou estate for which her uncle, aunt and cousin will travel over from Goldenrod to attend, and a few close family friends such as Morty and his family, and some promising people from the branch family.

Over all - she just wants to spend time with the people she loves, and have a good day : so far, she’s always managed to succeed.

Being a trainer isn’t always fun and games - as Kira is made painfully aware of on multiple occasions.

Two weeks prior to Leon visiting with his ‘surprise presents’ that kicked off a journey none of them could’ve ever dreamed of, Kira and Hop had once again used Leon’s equipment and blanket to make themselves a little tent in the unoccupied room. Sometimes Wooloo joins them, but other times he remains with Heather, begging for extra snacks. Regardless, there’s never been a better place for Kira and Hop to read Leon’s many books on Pokémon, than right there in that little christmas lights lit tent. 

At least they always put everything back in order again after they’re done!

As part of a PR exercise to draw more attention to Pokémon Health and jobs in the Health care, Kira volunteered at a Pokémon center for a week - rather than the Pokémon shelters she normally volunteers at.

Since there were pictures ( you can bet she hated every single one of them - but fortunately she was able to forget that the cameras existed the moment she got to work ) she was given a nurse outfit to wear for the task!

The scarring on her leg has always been a massive source of discomfort for Kira. It’s hideous. She can’t even stand looking at it herself, so how could anyone else? From there on, her self image only got worse over time.

Small things that would normally not have bothered her were suddenly so much more impactful. The smallest imperfections got met with thoughts along the lines of ‘Oh, that’s ALSO not great’, ‘This could ALSO be better’, etc etc. With the scarring as base, everything else simply stacked atop.

She doesn’t really like seeing herself. Rarely puts on make-up because she doesn’t want to deal with mirrors, can’t relax on photos because she doesn’t want to be captured on them. 

Whenever someone does compliment her appearance, she just swallows the bitterness she feels at the very kind lie and will continue the conversation after an awkward thanks. 

She doesn’t like talking about herself. She doesn’t have much to say. She’d rather talk about other people - which shows in just how often she actually does.

The scar is something only those closest to her will be allowed to see. And even then it’s rare for it to be shown. Even when she’s by herself Kira covers her thigh up to not have to see it. Those who have known her for a few years have probably seen in a few times, but others can go months without even glimpsing at it once

Meanwhile, the scarring is so extreme that it can even be felt through things such as leggings.

Sometimes it’s so easy to forget that Kira’s known Leon since she was eight- despite how she didn’t really get as close to him until the start of her journey.
