I wanted to thank everyone’s who’s been with me this far enjoying my work as well as wanting to see Geno (& the whole RPG cast) return someday! I’ve been drawing Geno since I was in high school (2014) and now that the game has been remastered after all the years of being hated on for simply thinking the character is cool, I feel like my support has been finally payed off. And I can’t wait to continue drawing him & the rest of the characters) for years to come!

The remake of Super Mario RPG makes a good handful of changes to the original English localization to put the game more in line with the Mario series at large. But there's one they didn't change, and I kind of wish they did. In the Japanese version of the game, Mallow's homeland is not Nimbus Land but Marshmallow Kingdom. I don't know why they changed this in the English version, but it actually might be a play on words.

In Japanese, Marshmallow Kingdom would be Mashumaro no Kuni (マシュマロの国). While the Japanese name for the Mushroom Kingdom is Kinoko Ōkoku (キノコ王国), there is also this word mashurūmu (マッシュルーム), which refers specifically to the white mushrooms you get on pizza. I think Marshmallow Kingdom was named to be a twist on Mushroom Kingdom, in the same way that Mallow (or in Japanese マロ or Maro) was supposed to have a name that sounded a lot like Mario's.
