GYOMEI HIMEJIMA BREAKDOWN!!!!

SPOILER WARNING!

if you have not read the kimetsu no yaiba manga yet, please do not proceed. or if you wanna spoil yourself than go ahead.

So here is a little Break down for Gyomei Himejima, though nobody asked he really needs to be appreciated more.

how can anybody hate this man? cmon, hes so handome.

anyways lets get into it

NAME MEANING ::

悲 /hi/: means sorrow

鳴 /me/: means bird song. However, when paired with 悲, it will be a scream (悲鳴 /himei/)

嶼 /jima/: here means small island, islet (if it's big island, it's 嶋, 島 both read /shima/)

If we combine 悲鳴 and 嶼 together, we will get the meaning "The screaming in the small island". But if you combine 3 separate words 悲, 鳴, 嶼, it means "The sound of birds singing full of sorrow on a small island"

In addition, 悲 refers to the character as a monk and always has the catchphrase "How pitiful" as a way of showing the Buddha's compassion.

行 /gyou/: means to step forward.

冥 /mei/: refers to the place of darkness which doesn't have light, or also refers to the abode of the deceased

行冥 /gyoumei/ would be "Into the dark", "Into the dead". Coinciding with Himejima's death after the battle with Muzan, that mean's Gyomei has "deathflag right from the name".

APPEARANCE ::

Himejima stands at a whopping 7'2, In the anime it shows that shinobu is as tall as his legs, god damn...

He is a very muscular man, he has big veiny arms and hands, he has a Red Beaded necklace Around his neck and Red Prayer beads.

He has a spikey onyx colored undercut, his hair seems very soft.

He has White glassy eyes, He has no Pupils Visible due to him being blind. He crys a bunch during the series (reason in backstory)

He wears an Olive green Haori, the frame of the haori contains the kanji for the Shin Buddha chant (南な無む阿あ彌み陀だ仏ぶつ || Namu Amida Butsu) on both sides. The Patches on his haori aswell has the chant.

BACKSTORY ::

When he was a child, he had a fever which caused him to become blind.

When he got older he lived in a temple with children. One of them little fuckers was Kaigaku, One day kaigaku stole some money from Gyomei and Decided to flee the Temple, while doing so he encountered a demon. He told the demon about the Temple with the children and Gyomei, He put out the wisteria incense and invited the demon in the temple to spare his life. Gyomei Sensed a demon nearby and told the children to stay close to him, but was very frail and weak and his voice was too soft to shout loudly. they did not obey which led to them getting killed. The only one who listened was Sayo. Once the Demon found Gyomei and sayo, Gyomei decided to beat the living shit outa the demon. "the feeling of me killing a living thing was disgusting to me, but if it werent for that day i wouldve never knew my strength." Gyomei said. He killed the demon and the sun started rising. help came and sayo told the man " That big man! he killed everyone!" Out of panic. Because of how tall he was they thought of Gyomei, which caused him to get death row, right before he was going to be executed Ubuyashiki Saw him and bailed him out. In order to return the favor he joined the Demon Slayer Corps and became in hashira in 2 Months.

He crys alot due to of the event what happened in the temple, He is very sensitive.

BREATHING TECHNIQUES ::

First Form: Serpentinite Bipolar:

Gyomei throws both the flail and axe towards his target and manipulates the chain by rotating it thus causing the axe and flail to also rotate in order to drill through his target.

Second Form: Upper Smash

Gyomei throws both his axe and spiked flail for a pincer move before stepping down on the chain to cause the flail to rebound and smash his target from far.

Third Form: Stone Skin

Gyomei Sends out a series of slashes with the axe to deflect attacks, like a shield.

Fourth Form: Volcanic Rock, Rapid Conquest

Gyomei uses both the flail and axe weapons at both ends of the chain by swinging the chain on both sides in order to strike his opponent using a two pronged wide cornering attack.

Fifth Form: Arcs of Justice

Gyomei utilizes a powerful barrage with his flail and axe, doing a great amount of damage. The axe is destined to hit first with the trajectory of the flail following from the opposite side and slamming into the opponent.
