“I just wonder what it feels like to be cared for, you know?”

Giyuu turns to you as you stare at the ground, your shoulders slumped over.

“I’m sure many people care for you. I care for you,” he blankly speaks.

You appreciate his words, but it seems he doesn’t quite understand.

“Well, yeah… but, I mean like more in a loving way, I guess,”

In the past few months, you’ve found comfort in talking to your stoic comrade. Despite first impressions, Giyuu was easy to be around. At first, he didn’t say much. A lot of moments were spent in silence, but when you finally decided to talk, he’d listen.

You started off with simple things — your training for the day, what you hoped to eat for lunch, the status of a healing wound. It was nice. Nice to not feel a sense of judgment — something you grew anxious about when making new friends. He might not have been the most vocal, but he never made you feel unwelcome.

You look up to see him staring at you, patiently waiting for you to continue.

“Like, you know, romantically,” suddenly shy, your face blooms with color — it wasn’t like this when you told Mitsuri.

“I want to know what it’s like to hold hands and go on dates. To hug and kiss,” you peer off again. “I want to know what it feels like to be loved by someone,”

Giyuu simply hums, nodding his head in understanding as you sigh.

“Anyway, enough of that. Instead, I should focus on my next mission, not silly fantasies that’ll never come true.

You didn’t believe it then, never thought that anyone would be willing to love you — would want to love you, would choose to love you, but it happened.

You held hands and laced your fingers with his while out on dates. With your busy schedules, it was hard to go out sometimes, but you made the most of it. Some of your favorite dates were the ones where you didn't even go out. Instead, you spent time together at his estate, walking around the garden and sitting beside one another for lunch. The sun shined down on the two of you, but even without it, just being beside him gave you the warmest feelings.

You hugged and kissed too — his arms wrapped around you in greeting, a soft peck pressed to your lips when you pulled back. He hugged you when you were sad too. When he showed up at your place, and you were anything but fine. When you were having a bad day and felt low, insecure, and unsure, he let you cling onto him; and let your tears stain his haori. He assured you that all was okay, that he understood and wouldn’t leave like you sometimes thought. He let you fall asleep, and when you woke up, he was preparing you food, his sleeves rolled up as he stirred.

He’d kiss you during those times too. Soft and gentle on your cheeks and forehead. Other times the kisses were more heated, hot, and heavy with tongue, licking the skin on your chest as you whispered his name.

You experienced it all. Every daydream turned into a reality. Someone loved you for you, and that someone was Giyuu.

- First off, I think Kyojuro would absolutely adore your more shy, gentle, nurturing behavior. You know how he is about food lol so he’s always cooking up tasty meals for you, and he has a habit of including random ingredients into onigiri to see how it tastes, but he usually likes everything and isn’t super picky so you have to tell him if something tastes bad to you lol (idk if you’ve seen the “Will it Onigiri” series on TikTok but that’s kinda what I’m picturing here!) And if you hate one of his creations he always makes you a nice, fresh batch of milk tea to wash down the taste hehe

- And he absolutely ADORES your baking, this man would have such a sweet tooth so whenever he comes home at night or wakes up in the morning to the smell of baked goods in the air he rushes towards the kitchen with a wide, eager grin on his face as he waits to be the first to taste whatever he made <3 And he’ll eat things straight out of the oven too, this man’s mouth has lost ANY heat senses so he’ll have a whole dessert in his mouth and be chattering on about how delicious it was the second you’ve set the tray down to cool </3

- He thinks you’re so so beautiful as well, he was drawn to you from the moment he saw you and is still constantly telling you (very loudly, might I add) that you look absolutely stunning <3 He loves your round face and button nose and he’s constantly cupping your cheeks in his hands as he kisses your nose when you first wake up in the mornings, and I think he’d definitely be a curly hair guy so he LOVES your hair as well :)

- He thinks your fantasy maps are so cool too! :D I don’t think he’d have a whole lot of time to get into fantasy literature or games or anything just because of how busy his line of work is, but he always supports your interests and finds the maps in particular to be so incredibly cool :> He likes watching you make them sometimes, the process can be so creative and intricate and he will proudly display them in the house when you’re done with them if you’ll allow him to

- And as for quality time, boy does he give you plenty of that. I feel like Kyojuro is one of those people that could happily be around his partner all the time if he were able to, and while he will absolutely give you alone time if you ask for it (and he’s unfortunately kept busy a lot of the time with his work) he spends pretty much all of his free time with you <3 And he’s always doing cute little things for you like making you lunch boxes and writing sweet notes in all caps or tidying up the house on the rare occasion that he’s home and you’re not, in order to make you smile and take some stress off your shoulders

- He’s such a sucker for your gifts too, he always cherishes them and will show them off to anyone who will listen (especially Mitsuri because she loves hearing about how romantic you can be) If it’s something he’s able to carry with him while out on missions, he absolutely will, as carrying something you gave him is a nice token of home for him and reminds him what he’s fighting for when he’s struggling to get through a mission

I chose this match pretty quickly for you honestly, but ironically, I think if I were to choose another match for you it would probably be Akaza lol. He would be so respectful towards you and would also encourage you to share your feelings, and he would absolutely not be afraid to show his love to you at all lol he treats you like a queen <3 I just felt like Kyojuro fit with you a little better so he won out in the end :)

I considered matching you with Dazai as well, as I thought that the two of you shared some similar qualities and that the ways in which you oppose each other could make an interesting, fun relationship dynamic. I just wasn’t sure as I felt it may be difficult for him to handle heavy conversations especially when you’re upset with him, so I figured Kunikida may be a bit of a better fit as he’d be quick to understand your emotions and sensitivities while Dazai just may take a bit longer to figure that stuff out :]

He’s very different from a lot of the other AOT men and I think that he’s uiquely suited to you and your needs and wants in a relationship, and the two of you would truly be like two peas in a pod together

Headcanons About Your Relationship:

- He knows how you love the sky pretty much the same way he loves the sea, so he loves to combine those two loves and take you to the beach where he can stare at the ocean as he leans against you, while you can lay on the nice, comfy towel he brought and stare up at the sky <3 If you two go at night I think he’d enjoy stargazing with you too, as it helps bring him out of all the worries in his mind for a moment and lets him think about something far off into space and just enjoy the moment with you

- Armin would also be SUCH a cat person omg he’s the type of guy who would see some stray kittens hanging around scout headquarters and leave out food for them to make sure they don’t go hungry <3 And once the dust has settled on everything and the two of you are able to move in together he does the same thing, and you two would probably eventually end up adopting at least one of the strays as you both just completely fall in love with it

- This may seem like something simple, but I feel like Armin really enjoys your aesthetic and your color palette in general. He adores all the blues and pale shades, and though he’s always complimenting you because he wants to make sure you always feel loved and admired by him, he’s a little bit extra complimentary whenever he notices you wearing one of his favorite blue pieces of clothing hehe

- And he’s absolutely big on reading and literature, so when he finds out you enjoy writing in your free time, he would find it so admirable. He knows that writing can be an emotional outlet for some people and may be sensitive to share, so he never pushes you, but if you offer to let him read something of yours his eyes would literally sparkle with excitement lol he’d immediately jump at the opportunity and tell you everything he adores about what you’ve written

- I think after everything he’s been through, Armin has times where he really struggles with his mental health, and he often has nightmares in particular. He has some similar fears with you like the thought of losing everyone he loves, and the thought that he’s a horrible person and everyone will eventually grow to despise him also often haunts him in his sleep, and it’s those times in particular that he could not be more grateful for your nurturing aura <3 Being able to cry it out in your arms and listen to your reassurances after a particularly horrible nightmare is what keeps him going through each day sometimes, and he always makes sure to show his appreciation for all the emotional support you show him

Armin is an incredibly perceptive person, so even if you don’t tell him something’s wrong, he’s always quick to notice and address it so that he can comfort you in return. If someone’s causing you problems he’s more than happy to confront them, but if you’re just in need of some affection and a listening ear while you vent or some reassurance, he’s amazing at that as well as he always knows how to make you feel heard and loved

- He’d also be really big on quality time, given the things he’s experienced and the losses he’s suffered he knows how easily it is to lose the ones you love most without ever expecting it, so he’s careful to never take his time with you for granted. He often plans dates or occasions for you two to spend time together, and even if you’re just relaxing in bed together and each doing separate things, just being with you and knowing that you’re still there beside him warms his heart and puts his mind at ease

- He loves when you wear cozy clothes, especially sweaters and hoodies. They make hugs with you feel so warm and fuzzy, and he’s a big fan of just coming up to you and nuzzling into your chest or laying his head on your stomach when you have a nice, warm sweater on and he’s in need of a little extra affection

Honestly this one was tougher, Armin felt like a pretty perfect match for you and not a lot of other AOT guys really stood out to me in comparison. I think either Reiner or Jean could also match with you well, as I believe they could be the type to be more observant and sensitive towards your feelings in a relationship in comparison to a lot of other AOT men and could be the kind of partner you would want, but Armin is just such a perfect pick that it felt hard to consider anyone else.

So muichiro right? Is his hair green or blue because I've heard people say it's green and others disagree saying its blue. Occasionally I hear people saying that it's teal coloured, which I believe that it is, but I'm not certain and I guess I could just watch the anime again to see but I still don't think that would stop people from arguing over it (just a small side note? mitsuri, rengoku and giyuu try to help him and tell him it's teal, but mitsuri is obviously just going along with what obanai is saying, rengoku is an idiot and giyuu is never to be trusted anyway. it's sanemi against a world full of color-seeing jackasses and you'd expect gyomei to be helpful but no- "you know shinazugawa, now that i think about it, it might be red"

Baby Babble 

Giyuu Tomioka x Reader (Dad! Giyuu x Mom! Reader)

Warnings: None, just family fluff and domestic stuff

Word Count: 2.1K

Summary: After returning home from a Hashira meeting, Giyuu spends some time with his son :’)

Giyuu set off to the master's estate this morning. 

All nine of the Hashira were called for a meeting, gathered to listen in on new information concerning some suspicious activity in a nearby village. 

It wouldn’t have been unusual for Giyuu to be sent on a mission soon after. In fact, you expected it most of the time. It wasn’t something you necessarily enjoyed about his profession, but you understood the importance of his position. The corps depended on those of high ranking.

However, today that’s not the case. Instead, Giyuu arrives home earlier than anticipated, and the pleasant sounds of you and your baby’s shared giggles greet him as he steps inside your home, sliding the door close behind him.

He’s met with the view of you bouncing your little one on your lap, and you’re so caught up in their beaming smile and chubby cheeks as you cheer their name that it takes a while for you to notice your husband’s presence. But when you do, you welcome the surprise with great delight.

Lifting your baby into your arms, you make your way over to him, greeting him with a chaste kiss on the lips.

“You’re back already?” you ask, your tone hopeful at the idea of your other half staying home for the rest of the day.

“Or do you have to go?” you finish, quieted at the likeliness of him leaving.

Your baby turns to look at Giyuu as he answers, round sapphire eyes that resemble his own caught roaming his features.

“No,” he shakes his head, “Not today,” he says, his gentle gaze fixed on your little one as he begins babbling, leaning forward and reaching out for his father. 

Cautious to his movements, Giyuu holds his hands out, prepared to catch your lively baby during his fit of wiggles while you chuckle. 

“It looks like somebody wants their Dada,” you coo, adjusting the hold on your son’s body as he stretches out yet again.

“I can take him,” your husband’s tone is almost eager as he takes a step forward, a closed lip smile appearing on his face while he reaches out. 

“Are you sure? You don’t want to change out of your uniform first?” you suggest, already passing your bouncy child into his arms. 

“No, I’m good, and it’s not soiled, so there’s nothing to worry about,” Giyuu assures you, carefully taking the baby while positioning his arms to better support him.

Over these past few months, he’s grown more assured in his role as a father, and you marvel at how well he handles your little one. 

Comfortable in his dad’s presence, you watch with a smile as your son presses his chubby cheek against Giyuu’s chest, softly babbling a string of consonants. You can’t quite decipher what he's saying, but you imagine it's something sweet. Maybe it's his way of saying, I'm glad you're home. I missed you. 

Not wanting to get too sentimental all of a sudden, you step back, gently clasping your hands together. 

“Well, since you’re back early, I’m going to take a quick bath before starting lunch. I still have to make those vegetables before they go bad,” you mutter, looking up at Giyuu — who simply nods.

Switching your gaze to your baby, you softly brush your fingers against the skin of his leg. “I won’t be long, okay?” you say, smiling at how he resembles his father before you step towards the bedroom. 

But as you depart, Giyuu follows behind, stopping at the doorway while you gather a clean outfit from your wardrobe. 

“You don’t have to hurry. Take your time. I’ll help you prepare the food after,” 

Lately, you rarely get time to be alone, always having to take care of things can be a lot, and even if it's just bathing, Giyuu thinks you deserve that time to relax. 

“Oh, okay," you nod at his offer, eyes gentle as you look over at him, his hand rubbing circles onto the baby’s back. It’s always heartwarming to see them together like that. And it’s cute how their hair matches, the same raven locks except your son’s, is a lot shorter. 

“See you in a bit,” 

Once the bathroom door shuts, Giyuu makes his way back through the living room, effortlessly sliding the door open while he and your little one head out to the engawa, surrounded by the lilt of nature as a pleasant breeze blows by. Today’s weather is perfect for spending time under the sun — not too hot yet not too cold. 

“Come on, let’s go for a walk,” he hums, stepping onto the stone path in front of him. 

As they begin their stroll, your baby lifts his head at the new scenery, turning his head in all directions until a small bird perching itself on a tree catches his attention. He observes the animal's subtle movements as they take a step closer, the green leaves on the tree rustling as another bird flies down to join in. 

“Do you see the birds?” Giyuu asks, briefly pointing to the feathered creatures. “They’re enjoying the sun, like us,”

Reaching a hand towards the sky, your little one calls out to the animals. 

“Ba-!” he shouts with excitement, giggling when his innocent squeal startles them away. Their downy wings flapping in the wind as they take flight. 

“Say bye-bye birdies,” Giyuu gives a small wave as your baby watches the birds fly away, wonder in his eyes as they disappear from his view. 

Everything in this world is so fascinating to your son. A pure innocence that Giyuu wishes he could hold onto forever. And although he knows it's not possible, he’ll at least try to keep him that way — free from the monstrous beings that lurk beneath the moonlight. 

Continuing their walk down the stone path, Giyuu rambles on to his young son. 

“Oyakata-sama asked about you today. He wanted to know how everyone was doing. I told him we were well and that you liked the toy he sent over for you,”

He knows your baby can’t fully understand him, but with the way he peers up at his mouth as he is talking, imitating the sounds of his vowels. He often likes to pretend that he does. It’s like, Giyuu is the chattiest when it’s just the two of them. 

In response, your son emits a string of incoherent babbles, murmuring an attempt at words while Giyuu nods, pretending to comprehend everything he’s saying.

“Hmm, yes, you’re right,” he agrees, gently petting your son’s soft hair before taking a seat on the nearby garden bench. 

Settling your baby on his lap, Giyuu goes on.  

“Kanroji asked about you too. She wanted to know if you’ve learned any new words. She was very excited, but I told her you can only say —” 

A small hand playfully slaps against Giyuu’s mouth, stopping him in the middle of his sentence. 

“Ma-ma!” your baby says happily, giggling at the expression on his father’s face. 

“Exactly,” he mutters from beneath his hand, a deadpan appearance painted across his features until your little one pulls his fingers away. 

“But it did make me wonder… Can you say Dada too?” 

Your son’s large eyes peer up at him after the question, and Giyuu feels silly for a second. Of course, he can't say that yet. You would have told him if he did. 

Clearing his throat, Giyuu continues his try at teaching your son the new word anyway.

"Well then, maybe I can teach you. Just. Repeat after me, okay?"

Your baby tilts his head and blinks, focused as his father begins slowly enunciating his words.

"Da...Da," Giyuu slowly says, nodding with each syllable as your baby watches his mouth move — repeating the phrase a few times for good measure.

After a while, your little one gurgles, his lips puckering as he attempts to imitate the sounds. 

“Bah...Ma,” he mutters, eyebrows pulling together in a show of effort as Giyuu shakes his head. 

"Close, but no. Try again," he encourages. 

"Say Da...Da,"

“Ma-Ma!” your baby utters the contrary, flailing his hands in the air while Giyuu appears sullen. 

“Mama is in the shower,” he says, brushing away a trace of drool sliding from your little one's lip. 

But he’s not giving up just yet. For the next few minutes, Giyuu repeats the two-syllable phrase, even going as far as saying the words in a sing-song tone — one that would surely surprise a few of his fellow Hashira if they ever heard it. 

In response, your little one continues babbling a slew of sounds, bouncing in Giyuu’s lap while animatedly flapping his hands. But from Ba! to La! and back around to Ma! — he still won’t say Dada. And with the baby now growing fussy, Giyuu decides to give in, sighing as he admits defeat. 

“Okay... let's go back to Mama,” he places a delicate kiss atop his son’s head before standing, muttering a few words about lunch as they set off towards the house. 

“If you’re hungry, I’ll mush up some potatoes for you… or would you like rice instead?”

Fortunately, the walk back home is a short one. And once inside, they're greeted by you tidying up the living room, freshly dressed after your shower.  

“Hey, there you are! Where did you guys run off to?" you joke, looking at Giyuu while he slips off his shoes. 

“We went on a walk. That’s all,” your husband curtly responds to your jest, avoiding your seemingly all-knowing gaze as he sighs. 

“Oh, well, that’s nice,”

“And…” he goes on. “I tried to get him to say, Dada,”

“Oh!" your eyes glimmer with joy. "How did it go?" you ask, half expecting to hear your little one shout the new word. 

Instead, Giyuu answers with his gaze shifted to the ground. 

"Not great," he says. "It seems he likes Mama more." The words leave his lips lightly, a good-natured statement he tries to form a smile through while looking at you. 

But his attempt at humor is laced with a sense of disappointment. Not at the baby, of course, but towards himself instead — he must have really tried to get your son to say Dada. And even if saying your baby likes you more is all in good fun, the thought of Giyuu feeling bad about falling short of his expectations has you quickly reassuring him. 

“Oh, don’t be silly. You know that’s not true. Look at him,” you say, gesturing to your little one resting against his chest. 

On the way back to the house, his fussiness had subsided, leaving him calm in his father's arms again.

“He’s obsessed with you,” you softly laugh while you make your way closer to them.  

“He'll say it sooner or later,” you assure your husband, and he hums, looking down at your baby while you take hold of their chubby hand.

“You love Dada, right?” you coo, lightly tickling your son's side, who perks up with a giggle. 

Giyuu looks on as you continue to play around, his expression soft when you direct your little one’s attention to him. 

“Say I love you, Dada. Give him kisses,” you pucker your lips, and your baby gurgles, his mouth forming a small circle while his hands settle on Giyuu’s cheeks, holding steady as he leans in and pecks his lips.

“Ah-Daah,” your little one mutters when pulling back, his gummy smile beaming as his father looks on, starry-eyed at the two syllables. 

"He...he almost said it," Giyuu mumbles, his voice barely above a whisper as he turns to you with a widened gaze — an optimistic gleam overtaking his features. 

“Yeah! See, I told you. He’s already learning,” you glance up with a smile before continuing, cooing to your baby once again as you tickle them. 

“And Dada helped you even more today, didn’t he?” 

Wiggling in your husband’s arms from your feather-like movements, your baby breaks into a burst of bubbly giggles so endearing it’s contagious. The sound radiates such pure, wholesome energy that soon you're joining in on the laughter, with Giyuu falling behind with a chuckle not long after.

Because even if your son didn’t say Dada today, it’s true, he’ll say it sooner or later, and you’re right, Giyuu did help — even if it was only a little bit, it still made a difference. 

The only thing that truly matters to him is that he gets to continue coming home, to the place where moments like this exist — where he smiles with the two people he cares about the most.

ok so basically our like franchise quarterback had been BR7 (big Ben - i can't spell his last name tbh) for so long but when he retired (after a shit last 2 seasons arguably more but no one wants to talk about that) we had to get a new qb so we used our number 1 draft pick on kenny pickett instead of oh idk drafting centers or guards to fix our shit offensive line but whatever. so we got kenny and everyone was excited and he started in the 3 preseason games and everything looked good etc etc except when he started during the season he quite frankly was kind of ass it was hard to watch. so when he got hit and was on concussion protocol and couldn't play, mitch trubisky (backup qb) started and look he also did pretty bad. so when kenny was able to come back he started again but still wasn't like anything big like we were still losing and then skipping ahead a little he got an elbow injury that was going to need surgery so he was going to be out and mitch came back in. the thing about mitch is i actually don't know his story im pretty sure he was the old backup for the bears maybe idk but anyway he was starting games and he was playing so so bad like oh my god . bad . so tomlin basically benched trubisky in favor of starting mason rudolph and the thing about rudolph is that he'd been backup under ben but Ben was kind of an asshole and didn't like give rudolph any guidance at all and when ben was hurt and rudolph had to play he wasn't very good and everyone hated him this is very important. so now rudolph was starting and everyone was expecting him to do horribly and basically saying our season is over but he actually did very well and we won the game and everyone was like holy shit and then we won the next game too and everyone was like rudolph is better than pickett and trubisky and tomlin just hates him bc it's rumored that rudolph is a trumper (idk if this is true) (tomlin is black and white steelers fans are racist idiots that want him fired even tho he's one of the best coaches in the league (17 seasons straight with no losing season lfg), that's all you really need to know) and that's why he's never started etc etc which is really dumb bc . it's not that he didn't start bc tomlin hated him, he didn't start bc last season he was ass u all called him ass whenever he played remember when you boo'd whenever he took the field and were actively wanting him to fail or did we all conveniently forget that but whatever what do i know. so because rudolph is doing so well and kenny is literally coming off of surgery, it was decided that against the ravens this week (today, the game we need to win for better playoff chances) rudolph would start kenny would be backup 1 and trubisky would be backup 2! someone in the media came out with information from an inside "source" that said kenny was mad about not starting and refused to suit up to be number 2 and it was a whole thing that blew up (mark maddon when i catch u when i catch u mark maddon) and it caused a lot of fans to start calling him princess kenny and basically call him selfish and conceited and stuff. so while talking to the press kenny basically addressed those rumors (which he'd already technically and indirectly disproven in earlier interviews but whatever) and said they weren't true he never refused he's following the advice of the coaches and health staff hes going to suit up as backup in the game etc etc. and then a picture of kenny mason and mitch came out where they were all laughing and smiling and joking around and yeah that's it it's kind of awesome to me
