why did you ever think dating an outwardly rude guy was such a great idea?

there you were, sobbing into your pillow because the both of you had an argument. the whole thing was just idiotic in a sense; the argument started out with a discussion about something stupid but turned heated as you both went on and on.

of course, the two of you had had arguments before but they weren't to the extent that you had to press pause on the relationship.

that was the exact reason you were currently sobbing.

it was never excepted that this argument would have tsukishima impulsively pause the relationship.

you didn't get to cry for long as your eyelids felt heavy and before you knew it, you had fallen asleep.

the next day was hell because you had to act like nothing was wrong—like everything was perfect in your life. the most popular student shouldn't have a flaw nor problem in her life. that was the standard you set for yourself to follow.

so with that, you put on a charming smile and proceeded to behave as though nothing was wrong.

it irritated tsukishima when he watched you interact with others in such a normal way, even he was acting more impolite than usual because of your fight. you, on the other hand, were acting as if everything were fine and dandy.

and he didn't like that.

"you know, you can go apologize instead of just watching from a distance like a stranger."

yamaguchi suggests but tsukishima only tells him to shut up, which the green haired boy happily complies to.

how would i even begin to apologize if she's treating things like normal?

the taller male doesn't voice these thoughts, though, as he feels it would be useless to get advice from yamaguchi.

even at practice he notices you're more chipper than usual. it was the calm before the storm, tsukishima concludes finally.

the first few hours of school you hadn't talked with your boyfriend and it was fine, but when the last hours of school ticked by you grew worried.

you knew tsukishima was a stubborn and prideful guy, and so it wasn't a problem when you two wouldn't talk for a few hours. but he would never go to the extent of straight up ignoring you for eight days.

at this point, you were close to breaking down in public because of this. other students have already began noticing your extremely happy mood these past few days.

friends would ask if you were alright and that you seemed off.

you denied answering any of these questions and only resumed with whatever you were doing because you didn't want to worry them.

in light of this, you reacted strangely and this caused students to be more attentive of you.

well, not everyone.

your boyfriend still ignores you—even if you make the effort to try and talk to him.

"oi, tsukishima."

tsukishima looks up from his seat on the floor of the gym and sees kageyama with that serious expression of his.

the blonde only raises an eyebrow at his sudden appearance.

"what did you do?"

kageyama asks which shocks tsukishima slightly, the king would never talk to him about anything other than volleyball—unless accompanied by the ginger.

"what?"

"to my sister."

not even about his own sister.

the raven points at you in the distance. you looked awfully gloomy—actually you've been gloomy all week, but you hid it with a deceiving smile.

tsukishima was annoyed at that, annoyed because you were behaving as though everything was fine, and annoyed because of your fight.

but why was he even angry with you?

it wasn't your fault to begin with.

"i would never do that."

you say, tears threatening to fall from your eyes. tsukishima scoffs at the answer you give him.

"i saw the messages, so don't lie to me!"

"what texts?!"

"the one with that friend of yours! that– that stranger you always text."

it was your turn to scoff at the ridiculous accusation.

"your just misunderstood, kei."

you try to explain the situation but tsukishima wouldn't have it, he was rambling at that point.

"i don't even know why you chose me. you could have chosen anyone at your disposal but you chose me out of what? pity?"

those tears feel hot against your cheeks now.

"no! i don't pity you, kei. why would i?!"

"i don't know, maybe because i asked you out in front of your classmates? maybe because i looked pathetic doing it so you just had to say yes as to not damage your reputation?"

you were shaking in bitter laugher.

"what reputation?"

"you know what i'm talking about! you're popular, you've always been so popular, perfect, likable.. so why? why, out of everyone, would you choose me?"

"because i–" i love you.

the words stumble in your mouth.

"because you're who i want, who truly sees me as me, who i can be myself around. that's why i chose you."

"well you chose wrong."

it felt as if a sword pierced through your heart when you heard those words.

"i need time to think."

"kei, wait please!"

the blonde distinctly remembers you leaving his home with red puffy eyes because of the argument.

"that's none of your business."

he finally answers, but it only makes kageyama more infuriated.

"you better fix it, fast."

is all he says, however, as he didn't want to make a scene.

tsukishima stands and steps to tower in front of the shorter student as he says,

"it's still none of your business."

you were watching the interaction happen with a glum look until yachi taps your shoulder. the gesture makes you turn towards her with a forced smile.

"what's wrong?"

the female student says before any words are spoken between you two.

"nothing, i'm just feeling a bit down today."

"i suppose you've been down for the past week as well?"

her words surprise you and, immediately, you glance at where tsukishima was in nervousness.

yachi also looks toward his direction and 'ah's knowingly—something she began doing instead of reacting loudly ever since you all became second years.

"relationship problems?"

"it's complicated.."

"tell me about it."

the events from that night taunted you, but you desperately wished to vent to someone—luckily it had been hitoka as she already knew about the relationship.

the second year sits on the polished wood floor and pats the space next to her.

you sigh, following her actions and sat on the floor.

"it was a fight. kei, he accused me of cheating and i tried to explain that it wasn't like that but he changed the topic to why i was even with him. he told me that i pitied him, and that i was only in a relationship with him because i didn't want to damage my reputation."

your thoughts become incoherent, unclear, and hard to follow so you pause to try and collect yourself.

"but i don't, i don't pity him– i wouldn't. i just care for him so much and i don't want to lose him. i don't know how to make this right, i don't know how to apologize because this wasn't even my fault! i just.. i just want everything to be ok between us again."

tears form in your eyes but don't spill, the agony of having to hide the frustration seemed to be reaching closer to the surface everyday.

yachi, who had been quietly listening, extends her arm for a hug.

"it's going to be alright, he'll come to you when he's ready to apologize."

"i hope it'll be soon because i don't know how much longer i can put on a fake smile."

you laugh sarcastically and stand up, holding your hand out for hitoka to take.

that was tsukishima's queue to leave the area. he overheard the conversation you had with the second year, and it made him realize it doesn't matter if his insecurities were giving him doubts.

"my duty is my heart."

he would always hear you say. he thought it was stupid, who would make their heart their duty? it was idiotic to follow your heart, that mindset would only get you hurt in the end.

but maybe, just this once, he would follow his heart.

you were bidding some school friends goodbye as it was the end of school when tsukishima approached you.

the tall male looks at you and gestures to a more private place to talk.

"what do you need, kei?"

you ask. you already knew why he needed to talk, but having been ignored for a week straight, you wanted to hear him apologize.

tsukishima hesitates before speaking.

"last week i reacted poorly and irrationally. i accused you of things i know you didn't do, and i.. i'm sorry. can you forgive me?"

you cross your arms over your chest in annoyance.

"you're an asshole, you know that?"

the blonde clenches his fists at the comment as he stares at you in slight desperation. the annoyance in your expression fades as you smile brightly—which confuses tsukishima.

"you're an asshole, but i forgive you. i forgive you, tsukishima kei."

you watch as your boyfriend sighs in relief and relax at your answer.

"you aren't mad?"

It was a captain..with black hair, bangs covering his left eye, eyes that looked like a cat and went to nekoma..kuroo testuro. you've been crushing on him for the past year and but never had the courage to ask him out on a date. the team knew of your so called crush on their enemy team absolutely despising you liking their captain. they tried to get you to like someone else who was BETTER than that jackass..tried so many times but failed seeing how you look at him.

every training camp they have with the different schools you're always googling at him with heart eyes. It was disgusting according to yū. but you didn't care, all you cared about was him..the boy you had fell for. straight heart eyes as you watched him play against the team, kiyokō advised to you to talk, just ask him out on a date but being the shy and quiet girl that you are you couldn't! how can I talk to him when I'm like this?! when will I get a chance to even talk to him?. ugh! liking boys Is strange. you sat up from your futon ripping off your covers to go outside the room, you opened the door to scope the halls out but when you didn't see anyone you quietly walked out closing the door behind you. to clear your head you decided to roam the halls, something you would do when you had troubled nights. It was dark and quiet, It felt peaceful, giving your mind to rest. It has been a few minutes since you left your room, 11:34pm to be exact. Its been a few minutes 5-10 since you left the room deciding to head back before you got caught by daichi again..you remembered the first night when you were out In the halls and he came out of nowhere! daichi was a strange man..but he was your best friend.

smiling to yourself at the thought you continued to walk back to your room but didn’t notice anyone else coming. when you continued to walk, the footsteps faded In, feeling a presence behind you and a small yawn after. you turned around to see— kuroo?!. he was In a white shirt, black shorts with his hair down. kuroo squinted his eyes with another yawn, "y/n? what're you doing up?." heart began to pound, you weren't prepared for this!!. "uh..I just— I was just walking around?." from being a freak show of lies, you couldn't find yourself to do It now, just turning away from embarrassment.

kuroo who raised a brow In confusion but turned lightly red seeing what you were wearing turning away with wide eyes, quickly avoiding you In respect clearing his throat. "then, I'll be on my way then yeah?. goodnight y/n." as he began walking away your heart started to pound. was kiyoko right? If I like him so much I should just ask him out.. your heart sped up more and more as anxiety breached In. this could possibly be your only chance considering you won't see him that much tomorrow. ugh! when kuroo brushed passed you, It felt like time slowed down, throwing a hand to grip his hand catching his attention. he didn't say anything but he didn't let go of your hand which surprised you but shook your head.

you looked nervous. the grip you had a hold of his hand tightened taking a small deep breath In and out. "I-I was wondering If you would go on a date? with me?." silence. your heart dropped not getting an answer possibly thinking you've embarrassed yourself, quickly letting go of his hand with an awkward smile, you rambled, "you know what, just forget any of this happened. I wasn't even here! goodnigh—!." soft lips Interlocked with yours, widening your eyes In surprise. surprised the guy you liked kissed you. you closed your eyes savoring the moment placing a hand on his cheek, tilting your head to the side to deepen It hearing a soft groan. the grip he had on your waist trailing up slightly up your shirt to grip your waist better, a shiver went up your spine feeling his cold hands on your skin. he was so gentle with you.

the moment only lasted a few seconds, before kuroo was the first one to pull back with a sluggish grin, "does that answer your question birdie?." he teased pulling back fully seeing your shock state with a chuckle, "I have your number so I'll text you. goodnight birdie." he walked away. you felt like screaming but you didn't, quickly walking back to where you and kiyoko were sleeping. when you got to your sleeping bag you Instantly cuddled your pillow touching your lips with a giddy smile, "he kissed me.." his lips were so soft and sweet..the movements and hand placement on your hip made you have butterflies. he such a curse took to you..

❤︎︎# — 𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐮 & 𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐮 there was no doubt you caught feelings for them both. atsumu and osamu. the miya twins and might I add the two famous faces In school. you were friends with them both, really close friends actually. during the time being with them everyday and talking with them everyday you've developed some feelings for them both, they were different In their own way. osamu was more on the chill side as atsumu was more of a jackass but nice In his own way. to be honest no one expected a thing from you..not even them! except your best friend. kita. the very first person to greet you when you first came to the school, kita was very Intelligent and Imitating In a way, he was able to read you like a book while others couldn't. he knew you liked the twins which he absolutely supported but he was wary around atsumu, he was a nice guy but let's his ego get the best of him.

like I mentioned, atsumu was a jackass. If you annoyed him In the slightest bit he would get Irritated with you and say the most ridiculous thing to you to shut your mouth up, he had an attitude like a angry grandma who got disturbed In his sleep. so when you first met the twins you were scared of atsumu till osamu reassured you and Introduced you both, and now you're all best friends!. talk and walk everyday, most students would question If you’re In a relationship with one of em or both of em. you could only wish for the possible but you doubt they would like you. they only liked you as their friend.

but as long as you can keep this with them you're fine. for the twins, they were really easy to read, but you being too naive and oblivious didn't get the hint. whenever osamu would take you out just one on one you would think It's a hang out but reality he thinks it's a date. osamu knew you thought It was a hang out not wanting to make anything awkward so he stayed quiet not willing to correct you, leaving him with his own thoughts and delusion. for atsumu he was..odd? he would blabber on and on about something, complimenting you everyday, "y/n looking good!." he didn't wanna say anything wanting you to figure It out yourself but GOD how patient he had to be with you. atsumu would make It very clear he wants you, osamu was lowkey about It but still made It clear. but It wasn't working!. you liked them, so much yes. but you just don't wanna assume and embarrass yourself when you decide to confess, like you did last time with a guy you liked In middle school..gives you the chills. but overall they were also waiting for a perfect time to confess, with nationals coming up they've been busy non stop with practices. for a straight month you guys haven't talked that much or walked home together. you do admit, It was getting lonely walking home and eating alone without them.

the twins have tried to make room to spend time with you but It could never be fulfilled due to strict orders from their coach. and with school work they have to be passing In order to play at nationals which gives them less time to hang out out after school. students took notice of this beginning with rumors, like, "did they finally get sick of her?." "I can shoot my chance!." "haven't seen them together In over a month.." "did they break up?." It aggravated you of how much these Idiots didn't know a thing about what's going on but you didn't let It get to you continuing to go about your day..It was towards the end of school, going to your locker to grab your stuff, replacing your school shoes with your normal ones walking towards the front gate, as you were walking humming along the tune that played In your ear buds you heard a crowd forming. you stopped In your tracks raising a brow, taking an ear bud out to hear the chaos, It was coming from the gym?

Is everything ok? you decided to walk over overhearing loud voices you recognized, It was the twins. and they were fighting..yet again. you pushed past the crowd to take a look for yourself and was surprised to see them In a psychical fight? aran was pulling atsumu off osamu who was being held back by yuto, "If you weren't so terrible today maybe this wouldn't had happened!." atsumu yelled, osamu who growled In responses wiping his mouth, "people have their off days dude! just because your mr perfect doesn't mean everyone has to be at the same level as you!." "then quit!." was the last thing atsumu said, pushing aran off him as he stormed away, you assumed to the locker rooms, osamu staring In disbelief but scoffed walking the other way.

aran sighed watching him storm off, turning around to see you stand there with confusion. "hey..y/n." he said awkwardly, waving at him with a thin smile, "what happened?." you've never seen the twins get Into a psychical fight before, It kind of made you upset seeing them that mad at each other. aran sighed shaking his head, "for the past week they've been off their game, atsumu serving sloppy sets, osamu making mistakes left and right. no one knows what's going through their heads, and during practice today It triggered them both off." off their game huh?. "I'll go check on them. thanks aran." you gave him a warm smile before walking towards the locker room, luckily no one was In there but him, opening the door with a small knock. "tsumu?." nothing. but you walked In anyway, turning around the corner to see him on the bench face covered with his hands.

you could see some faint red marks probably from rubber warm being on the gym floor and some small bits of dark red. was he bleeding?. "tsumu." you said again and this time he looked up, he was bleeding. you sighed walking towards him, as he followed you with his gaze standing In front of him taking his face Into your hand. he was bleeding from his nose but It wasn't bad, "you're bleeding you know." you tried joking with him but got nothing feeling your heart race, you bit your bottom lip, using your thumb to wipe away the bits off his face but he hissed from the stingy sensation pulling his head away from you, "I'm fine, y/n." he said with a harsh tone, eyebrows furrowing. "tsumu—." you tried but got Interrupted by him giving you a glare, "I said I’m fine! would you just buzz off somewhere else!." he yelled at you. that was a first. you didn't say anything but took a step back bringing your hands to yourself with a short nod.

"I'll leave you alone..but you could've asked a little nicer." when you walked out, you made sure he heard the loud slam flinching from the sound sighing deeply to himself falling back onto the bench. when you left you felt awful wanting to go home and..cry but you knew osamu was still here. you were going to feel bad If you didn't check up on him so you sucked up your feelings and walked to where osamu went. when you walked to another part of the gym you see him sitting down on the ground with his head hung low, you smiled softly walking quietly over to him, kneeling down, grabbing ahold of his hands. osamu looked up to see you staring at him with soft eyes. you didn't say anything but examined his face, he wasn't beaten up that bad, just minor scratches and a busted lip.

"you okay?." you finally spoke up, osamu shook his head with a scoff squeezing your hands, "not really." he spoke In a low tone, sighing. "you know I hate when you two fight but to the point where you guys are putting hands on each other? what's gotten Into you both." osamu sighed, finally making eye contact with you. "with nationals coming up and everyone being on edge..I guess It built up frustration and stress." unlike his brother he's more calmer and willing to talk about his feelings, It made you mentally sigh In relief that they weren't like each other, hearing some communication from the other half put you back In a better mood. "and today during practice we were playing really sloppy we ended up getting mad at each other which lead up to that." he shrugged, "but I'm fine." he reassured, you nodded slowly still feeling a little down about what happened with atsumu.

you knew he could get In a mood but you didn't expect him to do It with you. osamu noticed your mood was down, squeezing your hand, "what's wrong with you?." he asked noticing your face, you looked up from your thoughts shaking your head, "nothing! I'm f-." "y/n." you sighed In defeat. "fine. when I went to check up on atsumu..he was all upset and mad he ended up yelling at me. but I'm ok!." he yelled at you? what an asshole, osamu scoffed but didn't let It take too much over his emotions just bringing your body down towards his, hugging you. you were surprised from the sudden movement but stayed comfortably In his arms. you were so warm..the comfort he gained from you calmed him down a bit. you guys had stayed like this for a few more minutes, osamu pulling back just enough to see your face.

you always have been, pretty e/c eyes..he doesn't know what took over him but he started to lean In, like being hypnotized you started leaning In too, before you knew It. your lips locked with one another, It was a slow and gentle kiss bringing your hand to place on his cheek, tilting your head to deepen It hearing him groan quietly. osamu pulled you closer to his body, kissing you back with a sweet taste. for a few more seconds you were first to pull back with a soft smile, "didn't know you were so bold." osamu rolled his eyes at the tease, pecking your lips again, "had to take my chance." It was your turn to roll your eyes, "you dork." he smiled leaning down to kiss you again, he's been waiting so long to do this, he felt relieved.

after the whole thing at the gym, walking you back home with one last kiss. It was quiet In their room. osamu on the top bunk, atsumu on the bottom staring at the ceiling with frowns on their faces. thinking back tot he fight atsumu started to realize what he did, when he calmed down In the locker room he Instantly felt bad for yelling at like that. and the fight with samu? hitting his own brother took a toll on him, he felt Instant regret but being stubborn as hell he didn't say anything. osamu was jus as stubborn but more mature than his brother, but not liking the tension In the air he sighed, "tomorrow you should apologize to y/n. you messed up dude." atsumu sighed, turning to his side to face the wall, "I know.." osamu raised a brow looking down, "wanna play smash bro's?." It was silent for a bit before atsumu answered. "yeah."

It was there Idea of making up, playing video games and slowly getting back to how they were. but as they were playing the game osamu took a pause, "hey bro?." he said, atsumu looking at him with chips stuffed In his mouth with a raised brow. osamu looked at him In disgust but shook his head, "I ended up confessing to y/n. well, I kissed her—" "you got to kiss her?! dude!." he said with his mouth full hitting osamu In the arm who hissed looking at him with a glare, " It was In the heat of the moment!. but that wasn't all I wanted to tell you..I think you should also confess to her." "so kiss her like you did?." he hit him In the head, atsumu pouting at the hard hit. "no you dimwit. jus, when you're apologizing confess to her."

he told him to not kiss you but he was going to do It anyways. stubborn as usual. the next day at school he seen you at your locker getting ready to leave for the day, the entire day he tried to talk to you but always got caught Into something, unlike osamu he got to hang out with you..like you guys were a couple. It pissed him off, but he was at fault here. when he finally got a chance to talk to you he felt his stomach drop, he was nervous. what If you don’t wanna talk to him? or you hate him??? as the steps got louder the more he started to feel nervous. when he made It behind you, he cleared his throat. "hey y/n." hearing his voice you paused your hand, you didn't turn around fully but just turned your head to look at him, he looked nervous. "hi atsumu." ouch. he slightly pouted not hearing his usual "tsumu!." but shook It off, scratching the back of his neck, "about yesterday..I'm really sorry for yelling at you. after the fight and practice I got so pent up with frustration I took It out on you and..I shouldn't have. so I'm sorry." hearing his apology your eyebrows knotted together with a frown, turning fully around with crossed arms, "do you mean that?." he nodded his head, placing his hands on your arms, "I do. plus I have something else to tell you." before you could ask what It was, you felt soft lips ontop of yours. your eyes widened but you slowly relaxed In his touch kissing him back.

after hours from the practice matches, bokuto, kuroo, akashi, tsukishima and you were all In the gym practicing. you and bokuto were practicing your spikes as tsukishima and kuroo were practicing blocks. you were trying to not get distracted from the fact your crush was In the same room as you, setting balls your way!. being the best ace In japan, best spiker nation wide, your spikes were all sloppy and messy right now!. kuroo noticed this with a raised brow but stayed quiet watching further notice. when akashi set another ball your way, your hand came In contact with the ball a strong stingy pain shot through your palm as you spiked It down, the loud smack didn’t come unheard by akashi who looked concerned. “fuck.” you grumbled to yourself, clenching your hand to yourself. when the water filled to the top he stopped the water, carefully carrying It to the bed you were sitting on. when he placed the bowl beside you he grabbed your hand, gently putting It In the water. you flinched with a small hiss feeling the stingy pain again but relaxed seconds In with relief. It felt nice. you looked up to make eye contact with akashi, “you really know your stuff huh?.” you questioned with a small smile, akashi looked up with one of his own looking back down focusing on your hand “when I was little my mother would always do this, so I just picked up from her.” he answered checking your hand again to see the It swell down a little, you nodded your head slowly watching his movements. for the rest of time waiting It was silent, neither of you were talking. from the time being, you felt akashi pull your hand from the water, placing It on the towel to dry It up. once It was dry he reached over for the bandages to begin wrapping your hand. his movements were soft and gentle not wanting to make It too loose or too tight, when he was finished he placed It down carefully on your lap. “how does that feel?.” you lift your hand up closing It and opening It, you still felt some pain but not as much as you felt before, “feels good.” you mumbled placing your hand back on your lap seeing him shake his head too, “you should be careful playing on this hand for a few days.” again you nodded your head starting to feel nervous, nervous over the fact you two were alone In a semi dark room. the lights from outside was the only light source coming Into the room, even In the dark he looked so pretty..his greenish teal eyes were so bright and mysterious, your gaze formed with his as you guys looked at each other. the distance between you both was so close you guys could kiss at any given moment, was kuroo right? should I just ask him out??

akashi realized how close you too were, having a small blush form backing up a little clearing his throat, “I’m glad I was able to help, but—!.” when he had gotten up you grabbed ahold of his hand with a tight grip. he looked at you with confusion still with red cheeks, you looked really nervous. “uh..before you go I was wondering If you would..like to go on a date sometime? I-I really like you but I didn’t wanna ruin anything between us— but kuroo said to ask now then later before another person took you away so—!.” the way you rambled out on and on was cute. he always found It cute when you would ramble, or— when you did anything really. akashi was quiet sure, but he was really observant, he caught on with everything. the way you ramble when you’re nervous, fiddling with your fingers when you’re focused, the slight high pitched tone you have when your upset with something— akashi smiled leaning back down taking your hands with his cutting you off from your thoughts. “I would like that.”
