i’ll be on semi hiatus for a lil bit

i’m trying to get used to new anti anxiety meds, and until i do, they’re gonna be making things worse and dragging me back to some of my worst times, bringing back depression and thoughts and feelings of not wanting to be here anymore, so i need a break ic and ooc to give myself some time, and this goes for discord as well.

sometimes i just can’t help but think about how confidently jace told alec that anyone interested in his ass obviously couldn’t possibly be interested in isabelle’s ass, and i cry inside, because this is just reason 1 of why i will die saying this boy is bi and never had a chance to figure it out.

I can’t believe that in this year of our lord 2022 I have to listen to stupid people saying Jace is somehow treated better than any other character in the fandom (OR in the books).

just as a general fyi, that has nothing to do with the present, but because i’ve had this issue before, i don’t consider every meme reply as a starter as a rule. in the same way, you don’t have to turn every meme reply i make into a thread, i won’t either. sometimes i might like it as just a standalone thing, and love it but not want to continue it, and sometimes it might just not vibe with what i thought etc. for me memes can be fun to just read the answers to, instead of it being an obligatory starter. that being said, if i am continuing it, that means i actually want to, and see the potential and think the plot will work for expansion, and not because i feel i have to.

also, the fact that jace has super speed, super strength, can jump to and from crazy heights, is smarter than you, is also a brilliant musician, and all he wants is to cuddle clary and have kids and live his life in peace - this fact ALONE - should be more than enough for you to love this boy.

ugh. i don’t like it when people use jonathan christopher herondale as jace’s official name. that’s not his name. his name is jace lightwood herondale. that is the name that HE picked for HIMSELF. jonathan christopher is the name valentine, his abuser, gave him, and it was a copied name from his own son. jace has no real ties to that name. when he first arrived to the lightwoods, maryse was pretty much UNHAPPY with the fact that his name was jonathan, because she thought it was unoriginal and lacked personality, and then jace said TWO things that sold her on NEVER calling him that and should sell YOU TOO: 1. he said his father used to say that THERE WAS ANOTHER JONATHAN and if HE MISBEHAVED, HE WOULD BE REPLACED with the other boy 2. he also said, that if she disliked the name, she could call him CHRISTOPHER, because 1. jace had been given so little IDENTITY that it wasn’t what mattered the most to him 2. he just wanted them to like him so desperately, he wanted to be good so desperately, that he have would answered to any name they picked. and then MARYSE was the FIRST PERSON ever to give him a NAME OF HIS OWN, which was JACE, and used both his previous name, but gave it some identity, and jace absolutely LOVED and treasured it. he loved the name so much that he introduced himself as that to everyone, that everyone KNEW HIM as jace, and that when he chose his final official name, he chose JACE as his name. the name that his chosen MOM gave him. which is also why he picked LIGHTWOOD. he wanted to finally, officially, be a lightwood, even if it would just be considered his “middle name” he wanted it registered in the archives as his name. he even had his ring engraved with BOTH herondale AND lightwood crests. he wanted to feel like he belonged, and tell the world that he did. and finally, being called jonathan reminds him of abuse, and he hates it. he hated it when imogen kept calling him that. hearing it from valentine’s lips sent him right back to the abused kid he used to be. so just. don’t make a whole ass post that is supposed to be in his honor, with this name. it’s rude for one, cuz it’s not what he picked, and for the rest you can re-read above.
