Barbatos is time infinite, space incorporeal – a wave of his hand is all he needs to see every universe, every timeline, every outcome. A snap of his fingers is all it takes to change everything. A power so infinite and yet, so bounding – for he does not want to see what will happen in several years' time if he turns that vase just so, if he cooks a certain meal a certain night, if he answers a question with five more words instead of two. 

The threads of time weave through his fingers, and he could create whatever tapestry he so wishes – but that is not Barbatos’ desire. Perhaps once, he had a vision of what he wanted his life to be. Perhaps that is why he is where he is now. A truth lost to the echoing realities of eternity. 

It is a power that could drive anyone mad, and he is no exception – but he has learned to temper it, has found someone to serve who understands the gravity of it and all its consequences. He is in control – even with the buzz of the multiverses filling his mind in the quiet of his room, with the colors that paint the edges of visions that seep through his dreams. True peace from it all is the one thing he knew he could never achieve. 

That is, until you came along.

“What is it?” 

“Hm?” He answers as if he’s been snapped out of a reverie.

The two of you are alone in one of the castle’s many gardens, thanks to your request for a moonlit stroll after a lively dinner with a crew of rather rambunctious demons. The moments you had alone were rare, and it pleases Barbatos to have you alone to himself. 

“You’ve been staring at me for some time now, Barbatos. Do I have something on my face?” 

“No, not at all.” He clears his throat, a sheepish smile ghosting his lips. “I simply found myself lost in thought.” 

“About me?” You tease, taking a step closer to him with mirth in your eyes. “My, just what was on your mind to have you staring so intensely?” 

“Nothing salacious, I assure you.” He smirks as he sees you playfully pout at that response, and then slowly closes the space between you. “...Do you really want to know?”

Your eyes narrow, searching his gaze as curiosity replaces cheer. “Yes, I do.” 

“I look at you,” he murmurs, brushing a thumb over your lips. “...and I see the void.”

Confusion knits your brows, and he chuckles softly as he looks deep into your eyes.

“You are so intangible, so captivating, and utterly beyond my comprehension of all that I know to be true.” A hand comes to your waist, to the small of your back as he pulls you close against him. “You are, for the first time in my long life, a mystery that brings me both intrigue and peace. It is as if time stops with you, by no will or power of my own. To be with you, to even gaze upon you, brings the cacophonous universe to a lull, a peace I never thought possible for myself.” 

As he feels warmth radiate from your cheeks, he brings his lips to yours in a languid kiss. 

“In you,” he whispers against your skin, “I see the abyss that I’ve always craved.”

Weekend Event: OC Emoji Asks

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Karasu: I wanted a LI that had some of the geeky qualities that Levi has without all the self-flagellation and pity parties. also the lowkey incel vibes he sometimes gives off I thought that there must be demons comfortable developing/using computers if they have the D.D.D. and AI, and then I remembered the KARASU AI, and it kind of occured to me—what if I make Karasu actually a crow demon and not just a mascot? That's basically how that started. His physical appearance was meant to incorporate some more monstrous qualities to help set him apart even more.

Azra: The Fall is a popular backdrop for a lot of the game's parties/dances and events. I was mostly inspired by this Lucifer Devilgram to flesh him out as an antagonist-type character that the demon brothers could butt heads with over MC.

In the Devilgram, Lucifer obviously wins that wager and he goes on to say that basically it bothered him letting other demons have a chance to live with MC and spend time with them like that. In Azra's AU, Lucifer loses the bet which is how Azra ends up living at HoL for a month. (My original headcanon for Azra's appearance was basically Sukuna from JJK, but I changed that when I got the nerve to share his story online. lol)

Zekhan: He's closely linked to Azra so their own stories have some overlap. They're bonded very much like brothers would be, even though they're not related by blood. Zekhan is quiet and serious and collected whereas Azra can be spontenous and sociable and an "act now, think later" type. He's not the kind of demon that creates or likes chaos—he sticks to himself but he's very intelligent and strong and loyal. His character is sort of a blend of Barbatos' quiet confidence and leadership and Satan's intelligence and interests.

Metatron: I wanted an angel OC because I didn't have one and originally, I needed a very friendly angel for Michael to be jealous of. lol Metatron is very curious about humans and I think he craves intimacy but doesn't know how to find it. He hides a lot of his "shameful" desires and self-doubt behind a bubbly and out-going personality. I think he's sort of like a mix of Arcturus (ArTw) and Asmo. He's seen as being cute but not handsome, and he's often described as naive and flirty even though he doesn't mean to be. He has a lot of responsibilities in the Celestial Realm and he's very familiar with bloody history of the three realms, but he has no close friends or loved ones he feels he can turn to when he craves more from his calling.

Dia's unnamed older brother: I'm adding him here since I was thinking about him today. He ticks the monster fucker kink because the game's canon characters are lacking in truly monstrous demonic forms. He's a bit bigger and taller than Diavolo is and is very gruff and not too sociable. His AU reads like a Devildom version of Beauty and the Beast.

🌌- what was your first date like?

Ayato - honestly, the way I imagine ayato and I is mostly in an arranged marriage type thing (I have a differently designed sona for it and everything khsjfsdj). our first 'date' i guess would be considered the boat trip back from watatsumi island (where the wedding took place) and we drank ginger tea and chatted about folklore and mythology <3

Capitano - i've never really thought about it much, but i'd imagine our first date would probably be some sort of nature walk/hike where we just chat whenever the mood strikes us and i point out cool stuff i see while he just nods politely <3

Diavolo - i. also imagine being in an arranged marriage with him in most scenarios, but outside of those scenarios, in an AU in which im just a normal exchange student, i think our first 'date' would be where im infodumping excitedly to someone else (probably lucifer, satan or solomon) about how dia's demon form looks like it might be a dragon and im all fascinated by that and barbatos overhears and relays it to dia, who then invites me to an afternoon tea and tells me im allowed to ask whatever i like <3 though even given that opportunity it Would still turn into me infodumping about dragons

Lucifer - he's a very traditional sort, he's very careful to make sure none of our regular hangouts could be misconstrued as dates until both of us are entirely ready (which id totally misread as him friendzoning me and be sad about). but the first date he makes a reservation at a nice restaurant and works really hard to make it this Whole Memorable Thing but honestly i still consider our first date to be that time he let me pace around his study and infodump about my favourite book series for 40 minutes while he nodded politely and did paperwork.

🎵- what are some song lyrics that make you think of your f/o/your relationship with your f/o?

Ayato - there's a particular set of lines from 'Inventor's Daughter' by Branches that just resonates so hard with the arranged marriage fic/au i have laid out and it makes me SO insane (/pos)

theres something extraordinarily perfect to me about the "A white flag torn from a wedding gown" line, especially considering my sona's whole gender situation in this fic and the fuckery surrounding that. this au/fic holds a very dear place in my heart and honestly i need to keep writing it because i love it so much <3

Capitano - Black Bear (by Black Bear) sort of gives me him vibes, and the kind of wistfulness and envy the singer has towards the bear just. vibes. and also the way i write him. he is literally a black bear. so thats kind of funny

Diavolo - ok i have a few songs that vibe with this ship but there's a specific one that gave me SUCH brainrot recently about an au in which he and i are like hades and persephone and theres just SUCH a vibe and aesthetic surrounding it that makes me INSANE. The song is Epic III from the live version of Hadestown

Lucifer - There's something about 'Never Love an Anchor' by The Crane Wives that really tickles the Lucifer itch in my brain and the angst resonates SO MUCH with him. This section in particular just gives me SO MANY feels and makes me want to write disgustingly depressing angst of the ship ,,



💐- how did you two meet?

Ayato - usually arranged marriage type stuff, but outside of that im like a stray that thoma brings in because were both from mondstadt and he thinks im silly

Capitano - just through whatever fatui shenanigans and the like, my guy is a knight of favonius so id imagine he just got sent out with that group that went out and met capitano and was like. "ok im fascinated by this big guy. seeya"

Diavolo - again, i mostly imagine arranged marriage, though the first time they meet would be Before that, during some like fancy soiree or whatever, i dunno. other than that, just the exchange program

Lucifer - exchange program. i latched onto him like a remora because i could sense his autism from across the room and he just kind of took it



🏠- what's your and your f/os dream home?

Ayato - the estate beloved <3 but also i could see us having a holiday home in liyue, since its where we went for our (very belated) honeymoon and we liked it a lot !!

Capitano - Answered here!

Diavolo - I think he'd be very emotionally attached to the Demon Lord's Castle but I could also see us getting a sort of smaller, more modern style house closer to the main bulk of the Devildom where we end up spending a lot of our time.

Lucifer - He's very attached to the House of Lamentation and despite all his complaints he and his siblings are pack bonded and if they're separated they'll all die of loneliness and broken hearts (and also his siblings are too dumb to survive more than a few days without him), but I could see us having basically the inverse of Diavolo's in which we get a small place in the human world or something that we can stay in for a few days at a time just to get away from things!

🦅Yeah… After seeing how our great Lord Barbatos behaves, I can’t say I have much respect for the gods, either. According to Aether, not even the revered Lord of Geo was without flaws.

🌌In other words, we would both be very shocked to find Nigredo kneeling before a Statue of the Seven, even for our sakes.

Event- Corrupted/Grief-ridden Barbatos.

It's been two months.

Two months after <muse> left Teyvat. One fateful morning, they decide to revisit their long-distance Archon s/o. After using a wormhole vision given to them by Venti himself, <muse> finds themself in Liyue.

They decide to walk to Mondstadt- Venti's shown them this part of Liyue before. It wasn't too far from the beautiful city.

After around a mile of walking, <muse> stumbles upon a horrible sight. Ruin. Mondstadt was destroyed, and there was a strange pink glow coming from inside the ruined city. <Muse> decides to brave the breaking stones and buildings to find their dear Barbatos. What they find.. is also equally horrifying. Venti was crying pink tears. He was huge, twice the size of his old statue. He was on his knees and letting out a painful screech/wail. The Archon notices <muse> and looks down at them. It was as if time had stopped as Barbatos stares at them.

His gaze.. it was piercing through <muse>'s flesh, getting more and more intense by each second that passed. Venti's appearance had changed. Every trace of sea-green had turned to pink, as well as his braids. A strange-looking crystal has gone through his chest, appearing on the other side of his back. He was wearing his Archon attire as well. His wings were also different; like those of Dvalin, but ripped and burnt. He also had horns exactly like his old dragon friend. Barbatos' stare turns to a subtle smile and he curls up into a sad ball.

Blog event- promotion.

Your muse wakes up to find themself sleeping in a different bed than what they had slept in the other night. You walk out of the room, heading out of the house. You find yourself in a beautiful city, filled with windmills. You decide to try and find the center. You suddenly hear beautiful lyre music and a faint voice. You decide to follow it. It gets louder after you go up a few flights of stairs. In front of you was a huge winged statue. Next to it was a crowd of people, all looking at a 'girl' in the center. 'She' was playing a lyre, her eyes closed and smiling. 'She' finishes after about five minutes. It seems you missed the first part of 'her' show. Will you confront 'her'?

Taka haven't gotten out of bed, which was very strange. Usually he was up at five, and ready before six, but it was nine now and he was just...still asleep.

Venti had slept over the day before, because he'd gotten quite drunk and his friend was nice enough to bring him here. He had already woken up fifteen minutes ago and had been debating on knocking on the other's door. Perhaps he's tired? Venti hadn't quite memorized Taka's sleep schedule, so he was unsure what to do.

It took Venti some time to get the Sustainer to agree- around a whole two weeks worth. He finally got her approval and a more fitting outfit for his friend's universe. She'd left the Archon right outside Mukuro's doorstep, which coaxed a complaint out of the bard. A warning could have been nice... He steps forward, strangely nervous as he knocks on the door.

🕷️ SPIDER - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears?

Let's start with... Petromy Phelmer!!! He's got 2. His no.1 fear is his irrational/mundane fear, which is that he's a germaphobe, essentially. He doesn't like what he can't kill with a bigger weapon or more wounds. It's doubly worse with parasites, viruses, fungi, and bacteria, because to him (a baby god who hasn't grown into his ephemeral and/or supersized form(s) yet), those tiny life-enders are competition to him, and he's got a lot to stand to lose.

His other no.1 fear is his mother ("Agnatha", "Agnes", "Agatha", or "Nathan" depending on who you're asking). Lol. Lmao. He's a momma's boy and her opinion means everything to him (especially since he wants the inheritance lol)

Aside from those, he's also horrifically body-shy and body-awkward, and will do everything in his power to both appear big and powerful, while also not show a single inch of skin or face (which mostly manifests and being in a diver's suit 99.8% of the time. Yes this also helps with the whole germaphobic thing).

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

OH MAN. OKAY. LIGHTNING ROUND? LIGHTNING ROUND.

Petromy Phelmer - He was my Sunless Seas captain OC/self insert. He has direct inspiration from Lamprey. First thing I decided about him was probably that he was an asshole who found abusing humans amusing.

Barbatos Osswenbower Langermann - Petromy's (stand-in) captain, because I needed someone to take over the role of captain since Petromy hides as an engineer. She was inspired by bearded vultures.

Rhodian - I just wanted to play a centaur in D&D lmao. The first thing I decided about him...? Was probably that he was a paladin.

Mackenzie - I drew a cat-helmet biker once (probably bc Celty Durarara was in my brain), drew her a couple more times, and now in my mind she's the wildcard "Rat Queen", "Cop Killer" of a stereotypical cheesy dystopian futuristic metropolis. First thing I decided about her was her helmet design.

Cornelius - I took a uquiz that told me I was a centuar rogue, so I picked up the challenge and made a centuar rogue. First thing I decided about her was that she was a performer.

Loveday - I needed to come up with an Eberron character. First thing I decided about her was probably that she has prosthetic legs.

❇️ SPARKLE - what is their most prized possession? what do they value?

Petromy - His ship (the SS Calliope) is his darling!! Which is also his body/shell half the time. He values money, power, brute strength, and bigger weapon/army diplomacy.

Rhodian - His most prized possession is probably his cult's crest, since it marks him as a member, and it's also his spellcasting focus. He values fairness, his family, and also his bugbear bestfriend, Gibbs.

Loveday is an artificer and easily loves her alchemy pack more than she loves herself.

📎 PAPERCLIP - a random fact.

Rhodian's a seal brown draft horse standing at 7 feet tall, who trims his hoof hair. He also has a weak constitution to drugs, a mild-to-severe case of motion sickness, and he wont eat apples, oats, or sugarcubes in front of other people.

Petromy's name is Petromy, but he thinks it's too diminutive and will say his name is Petrom.

Mackenzie circles her lowercase "i" dots but also won't draw the line body, and abbreviates her name as "Mcknzie", so when she writes it, it ends up appearing as "Mcknz°e".
