Do you think Ushijima or Kita ever gets insecure? I can’t imagine them insecure but I feel like everyone gets insecure. I just... I ponder ..

can you read my mind because i think about this all the time. i apologize for responding to this insanely late but it truly did take me this long to come up with something for kita to be insecure about.

content warnings: ushijima’s is slightly suggestive and discusses body image.

i feel like their form of insecure isn’t debilitating, it’s just annoying. so here are some things i think they’re insecure about and why they shouldn’t be.

ushijima

love handles, stretch marks, and pecs that are large with more with fat than muscle. this man is incredibly strong and works out all the time, but he has the appetite to match. he’s strong, but he doesn’t have super defined abs. he notices other v league players around him don’t carry their weight the same way he does, so when he changes in the locker room part of him is like “huh. weird. is this not normal?” he tries to work out to get more definition and has those thoughts in his mind whenever he’s shirtless around the team but ESPECIALLY around you. i don’t know about you, but these are like….my favorite features someone could possibly have.

he realizes he has nothing to worry about once you get used to each other. you go on dates, spend days in bed together, and in the back of his head he’s thinking about how his body looks for you. not enough to prevent him from doing anything or changing how he acts, but it’s still something that bothers him.

one night you go to bed early because he has practice in the morning. you’re laughing and kissing him, and a small, shy smile won’t leave his face because he just likes you so much. you straddle him and run your hands down his chest and abdomen, past the weight that he doesn’t like thinking about. something in your gaze is so unwavering and fond, and he doesn’t quite know what to do. he feels exposed. you lean down and press a kiss to his lips, then lower to his chest, kissing all over his pecs and pausing to run your tongue over his nipples. he shudders, surprised at the motion, but you don’t stop there. you shift, leaving a trail of kisses down his midsection, burying yourself against his stomach. when you stop and pay attention to the skin just above his waistband he meekly asks you what you’re doing. you hum and ignore him for a moment, moving your attention to his hips. you can’t help nipping gently at the soft skin there. he gasps and his brows furrow, because he has no idea what to do. you press a few more kisses to his sides and move back up to meet his lips, smiling lightly. “you’re just so pretty. i couldn’t help myself.”

he’s startled. that was not what he was expecting. there’s so much sincerity in your words that he can’t help but believe you. insecurity doesn’t fade completely, but you can heal the open wounds.

kita

kita is a hard one because in my head he’s just….perfect. it took me forever to come up with something but i think i’ve finally got it. kita is worried that he’s boring.

he knows you love him and that nothing could change that, but he can’t help but feel a pang of guilt. he takes you to see his friends from high school and you laugh so loud around the miya twins. aran tells a million stories in an excited voice and kita realizes that he just….isn’t like that. he doesn’t get hyper and overly happy. he’s not very outwardly funny, and he certainly doesn’t have as exciting of a job as them. you love him, but maybe you notice those things too. maybe you’re secretly wondering why your partner can’t be as fun as the people he’s closest to. he doesn’t smile as easily or laugh as loud. he doesn’t throw jokes your way very frequently and he certainly doesn’t have the same energy.

it’s easier to make him feel better than he thought it’d be, though. you’re laying in bed with your faces close together. kita is telling some story, one that he really likes telling. there’s a little smile on his face that only grows as he tells it, partly because he loves that story but mostly because you won’t stop laughing. he’s not even really doing anything, or he at least doesn’t think he is. he’s not purposefully telling jokes or being overly passionate. apparently it’s just a good story, because by the end your face is buried into his neck and you can’t kick the grin off your face. you kiss his forehead and press your faces together. all it takes are a few words, a simple “you’re my favorite” or “i’m glad i met you” and he knows he doesn’t care about how you interact with other people. sometimes the thoughts sneak back in, but you’re always there to push them away again, telling or showing him that you’re delighted to know him, to be able to love him. he’s an absolute joy, and what other people say or do doesn’t matter.

Just a little thought, but I feel like cuddles with Ushi or Aone on a rainy day would literally just be bliss

YESSSSS. oh my god. such big boys. they’d be so cozy.

ushijima doesn’t think anything about it. he goes on his run and comes back soaked and is in and out of the shower before you can chastise him. you have to drag him back for bed afterwards. he doesn’t really know what to do with himself when you first start dating but after a while and a lot of coaxing you finally get him to initiate the cuddling. his favorite position is burying himself against your chest or stomach and letting you play with his hair, though he recognizes that he’s over 200 lbs of love and needs to give you a break sometimes. he’s really warm too. even when he’s the one shivering, he still feels like a portable space heater.

aone loves the rain but get startled easily by loud thunder. usually he’s fine but every so often he nearly jumps out of his skin. it’s very cute. but he’s a pretty stiff cuddler in general. doesn’t quite know what to do with himself so he lets you move him around. he just sits or lays down and lets you melt around him. his favorite thing is when you settle your face right against his or against his neck. he also loves when you cradle him close, letting him wrap his arms around you and fall asleep against your chest or tucked under your chin. he’s really sensitive so he loves when you just gently scratch his back or the back of his head. it makes him shiver. he loves falling asleep with open windows, listening to the rain come down outside and watching with half open eyes as the room lights up with lightning strikes. and of course, you never fail to give him a quick kiss on the top of his head or his forehead every time he’s startled by loud noises.

disclaimer: i am talking about specific body types and some insecurity here. it’s all completely positive because thick men are my fucking jam but if that’s uncomfortable or upsetting to you please sit this one out.

ABSOLUTELY YOU CAN GET CHUBBY HEADCANONS. i talk about this all the time so forgive me if this isn’t super organized but i’m just so excited.

aone is the chubby boy i rage about the most. anyone that draws or headcanons aone with abs has clearly never seen a human man in their lives. just looking at his official art you can see he’s a thick little lad, and i wouldn’t want him any other way.

aone has stretch marks on his biceps, hips, inner thighs, and possibly calves. he’s such a big guy that it just happened. he thinks they’re weird looking and frowns when he sees them in the mirror, but he quickly changes his tune when you run your hands over them and kiss them and tell him how handsome he is.

he’s a teddy bear. every inch of him is soft, but he’s solid and strong too. he can easily lift you up no matter how big or small you are, and if you try to play wrestle or anything he wins easily and plants a single, smiley kiss on your forehead.

total chubby chaser. has never dated a skinny individual in his life. he doesn’t really care, but he subconsciously looks for someone built more like him.

Y’ALL ARE GONNA HAVE TO PRY DADBOD ASAHI OUT OF MY COLD DEAD HANDS. for god’s sake, he’s an apparel designer with a bun and a gentle disposition. i don’t have many headcanons for him just because if i’m honest i’m not all that invested in his character but i will die on this specific hill.

he’s so insecure. his friends are pro volleyball players or just naturally don’t put on too much weight (tanaka n sugawara i’m looking at you assholes) so he thinks he’s failing somehow by having some meat on him. you really have to nudge him into loving himself, but he does get there eventually.

asahi is someone that really needs to embrace body neutrality. all that matters is understanding that his body functions how it should and it’s important and acceptable simply because it’s his.

ushijima is not necessarily insecure, but he’s extremely aware of things he has that others don’t. he is an entire unit of a man, so he’s bound to be a little thicker.

LOVE HANDLES. STRETCH MARKS ON LOVE HANDLES. BICEP STRETCH MARKS. FUCK.

oh my god does this man have tits. i don’t even know what to say about that. i just want to bite him.

he’s got a softer tummy than the rest of the adlers and that’s okay. i love it, you love it, and i hope he loves it too.

has the slightest double chin when he looks down and smiles and oh my god.

daichi has the best kind of dadbod. he’s strong and has huge arms, but his stomach is soft over his abs.

honestly he doesn’t think anything of it. his body functions how he wants and needs it to and he’s happy with what he sees in the mirror, so he doesn’t care about it at all.

bokuto is a huge eater so in the off season he puts on weight. he still works out a ton but when he’s not playing constantly he loses a bit of his tone.

meg is gonna yell about love handles again. that’s the biggest thing that happens to him. he fills out around the waist and has some stretch marks there that he thinks look really cool.

i—thighs. he puts weight on his already thick thighs so when he sits down they do the thing where they spread out even more than usual. they also puff out a bit over his knee pads when he starts wearing them again for the season.

hirugami sachirō fills out his scrubs perfectly. i don’t have any other headcanons for him i just think it’s important to mention him here.

thick kita shinsuke. oh my fucking god kita shinsuke.

i’m going to lovingly call him pudgy. his arms are soft and his stomach is soft and he’s just so so soft.

he’s very strong but he’s more sturdy than anything else. he’s got muscle because he needs it for his job but it’s certainly not the first thing you notice about him.

he’s built like he enjoys life. that’s the best way i can describe it. he doesn’t stress about his appearance. he lets himself sit and eat dessert with his friends and indulges his grandmother when she makes him too much food. he lives and loves in his body and that’s so important and beautiful.

i probably have more to say about this but these are all the characters i can think of right now. i headcanon the majority of the characters as definitely not skinny or ripped so if y’all have anyone specific you want me to talk about just send an ask 💞

i’m. i’m. um. oh. oh my god. i’m not entirely sure how to healthily process this in a way that doesn’t drive me to the brink of desperate insanity. let’s talk about this.

i love him. so much. aran is the ultimate chubby chaser. he’s so unbelievably gentle with big women. he’s the type to hide under your shirt against your stomach and just pepper you with kisses. what you said hurts because i know it’s 100% accurate 😭 he for sure just makes an excuse to get it off of you or go under it. and there’s nothing more wonderful in my brain than giant beefy aran stretching out my nice sweater with his monster arms and broad shoulders. i will happily sacrifice a million nice tops if it means i get to see him in my clothes.

and oh god, he buys crop tops for himself too, doesn’t he? that thought hurts. imagine coming over to hang out at his house and he opens the door in shorts and a cut off sweatshirt. oh god i’d be burying myself under there for the rest of the night. he’s so fucking sweet and cute and loves your body more than you ever have and makes sure you know it.

as a bonus he also has a really ticklish stomach so when you run your hands over him or kiss him he gets all shivery and tells you to stop (even if he doesn’t want you to) and it’s the most precious thing ever.

i really appreciate you bringing this up! i think this is a super interesting thing to talk about. in any fandom people will project their own tastes onto the characters they write for, and that’s totally fine. but that’s also a huge reason that tagging and content warnings are so important. if i go into a fic with a comfort character of mine and it morphs into something i wasn’t expecting, it makes me incredibly uncomfortable and i avoid reading that character for a while. so yes, tag your fics and make sure people know what they’re in for beforehand.

HIII SWEETHEART !! i’m doing pretty well and i always appreciate the opportunity. here are some of my random headcanons.

he hates most alcohol. he hates that i like whiskey and bourbon so much because he can’t stand it. doesn’t like tequila. the only things he’ll drink are white wine, sickly sweet cocktails, and stuff like mike’s hard lemonade. he needs it to be fruity and colorful or it’ll make him gag.

along that same line, his favorite beverage ever is lemonade. he always has a big jug in his fridge that he either bought or made himself.

i’ve said this before but he isn’t super into tattoos on himself but he most definitely gets a matching tattoo with his significant other where he gets their favorite flower and they get his. he gets it on his bicep and kisses it for good luck before serving in a match.

he moves in or asks you to move in so fast. like you go on a few dates and get more and more comfortable with each other until he keeps most of his clothes and most of his toiletries at your place. it happens within just a few months. he’s not clingy, he just thinks it’s the right way to love.

Funnily enough, it’s the two that were specifically brought up on here already, Risotto and Melone! :) I just… Love them. A whole lot. And I’m extremely attracted to the both of them too, for better or for worse, hehe. They’re both just ridiculously hot to me for different reasons, and they have really nice voices in the dub and the sub. I know Mel in particular is kind of questionable but… Yeah. I’m allowed to as a treat. He’s very pretty. :)

I also like Ghiacchio a lot! But I’m not attracted to him, I just appreciate him and his rants, which is funny because the loud and easily angered characters usually aren’t my faves. How about you? :D

That kita post! I'd like to think that kita has some degree of slyness bc he's still a "fox" after all. And then in the manga, we can see him teasing Atsumu (or that's just how i interpreted the panel, my atsukita filter is turned on on this one) and i find it quite amusing.

This would makes his character even more interesting bc he's not just an intimidating robot that can see right through you, he's an intimidating robot with a humor. (angzjahasyagacgjgzkwvaixn) I think kita is quite expressive to the ppl he's close with. They just need more time to adjust to his vibe. 😆

Now, it makes me think that if he has a crush on you, he'd tease you with a made up fact while wearing a serious face that you'll a hundred percent believe and he'd try to keep his laugh with a small "pff". It's cute. 🥺 Sly kita is hot kita.

i have a lot of strong feelings about kita because i’m writing a long character x character story with him, so forgive me for being so opinionated on him. he’s definitely a really subtle tease. he makes jokes and pokes fun at people with a really small smile on his face so people genuinely can’t tell if he’s serious or not. and hell, he’s captain for a reason. you’ve gotta be pretty willing to push back to keep the miyas and suna in line.

hi Meg! So I recently got somewhat sucked into Jojo hell and I was wondering who your favorite characters and what your favorite parts were?

i’m so fucking happy holy shit. i am.........so sorry for how long i ranted about each of these points. but as this is one of my favorite shows ever and people are getting into it, i’m allowing myself to geek out.

okay !! i recently ranked my favorite everything for my jojo side blog ( @locobeetown if you’re interested. i’m awful about actually posting things there but there’s some bombass fanart) but they’ve kinda changed since then. my thoughts shift a lot but here’s how i’d put things as of right now !!

(keep in mind that though i’ve watched parts 1-5, i haven’t gotten to watch all of what there is of part 6 yet so i’m gonna leave it off the lists. i’m also reading part 7 right now, so though i won’t rank it as a part, i might throw in a character lmao.)

favorite characters:

1. jean pierre polnareff (part 3) !! you cannot take this perfect himbo away from me. the fact that he has so many episodes centering around him makes me so happy. he’s absolutely giant, and a delight to watch whether you watch in japanese or english. he’s just the perfect balance of silly and sweet and stupid and emotional and it makes me happy. i also kin him so hush bsksbd.

2. koichi hirose (part 4). the first time i watched part 4, i constantly raged about this idiot. i mean fuck, isn’t the jojo of the part supposed to be the main character??? who is this tiny miscreant with the most ridiculous pose out of everyone??? he’s just so weird and i spent so long wanting to punch him in the face. it wasn’t until towards the end of the part when i really thought about it that i realized my aggression was actually really intense affection. i adore him. he’s one of the most interesting lil lads in a really weird way and i’m grateful that he’s basically the de facto main character of the part. josuke n okuyasu are too busy flirting to be the leads lmaoo.

this is where it gets hard. though my top two are always solid, my other favorites shift around a lot.

3. yoshikage kira (part 4). if i could put all of the villains here i would, but kira wins. holy shit. he is one of the best villains of all time. i’m completely serious. he’s so well written and integrated perfectly into the show. the little glimpses of him you see throughout moriah are fantastic, and even better on rewatch. his stand is cool as hell and i love his hair changes. he’s perfect. holy shit. but also, i would like to say that this spot is reserved for the villains in general. dio/DIO and diavolo are so fucking good it’s insane. holy shit.

4. gyro zeppeli (part 7). i know what you’re thinking. ‘didn’t she say she’s only starting to read this part now?’ fuck it, i don’t care. gyro lights my brain on fire. i got an insane adrenaline rush the first time i saw him in the manga. that one manga panel that goes “tell him to eat shit johnny,” “tell him yourself,” “eat shit asshole! fall off your horse!” is one of my favorites literally ever. he’s unhinged n dirty n i am so obsessed with him and attracted to him that it makes me a little insane. i feel like i don’t have quite enough information to put him in this spot currently, but i know he’s likely not leaving the top five.

5. part 4 jotaro kujo. i know you’re probably wondering why i specify which part, but he’s in four of them and part 4 is the best itteration of him bby FAR. animation-wise, he’s perfect. he looks his age, i love the fit, and he keeps a lot of his muscle from part 3 without looking super out of place. and his personality? oh lord his personality

honerable mentions to bruno’s gang from part 5 and josuke from part 4. they’re so cute i just adore them.

favorite parts:

1. part 4: diamond is unbreakable. this part is an absolute joy. it’s definitely the most rewatchable in my opinion and arguably the only one with a truly happy ending. actually, not even arguably. the end of this part, every single time i watch it, makes me SOB. every time i think about it i get that one quote from “the empty child” episode of doctor who where he’s yelling and emotional going “just this once, everybody lives!” the characters are great. obviously. two of my favorite characters of all time are in this part. koichi is a fucking joy. the show is relentlessly wonderful in japanese and english. fuck the sub vs. dub debate because this part is beyond perfect in both. YOU ALSO GET THREEE JOJOs IN THIS PART. THREE. josuke is the main one and he’s easily the most fun jojo, although he definitely gets the smallest role of all the previous “protagonists.” but the side characters make up for it. and as previously stated, the villain is a fucking masterpiece. I can’t believe it. and when you get to the episodes “July 15th (Thurs)” you are in for an absolute treat. i could rant about the music for 30 years here, but i’m just gonna say “holy mother of fucking god” and leave it at that. if i were to rank all the music in this show a huge number of the top slots would be taken by this season. i think “great days” might be one of the best openings ever. just sayin. god. what a good season of television.

2. part 3: stardust crusaders. what can i say about this part that hasn’t been said already. this is where series really picked up in quality and insanity with the introduction of stands and everything, so obviously it’s great. jotaro is a joy (though, just like josuke, as a main character he’s kinda overshadowed by the other characters, specifically polnareff). it’s super long so some people says it drags, but it’s kinda like the chimera ant arc to me. take a break between the big journey and the actual arc when they’re in egypt and push through the episodes you’re not a fan of and you’ll have a great time. and some of the enemy stand users you meet are so great you’ll never forget them. death 13, dan of steel, and the d’arby brothers (especially d’arby the gamer) are fantastic. OH MY GOD. AND HOL HORSE. I ALMOST FORGOT HOL HORSE. possibly the most iconic enemy of all time, mostly because he was originally intended to join the crew. ARAKI YOU COWARD. GIVE US CRUSADER HOL HORSE.

3. part 5: golden wind / il vento doro. i mean, there’s a reason this is the one people talk about the most. it’s not my favorite, but it is by far the best written. like, it shocks me how well written it is. this is the first time i think you really get into the nitty gritty of each character, and it’s kinda awful how attached you get to them. like, watching this part hurts me. another one with iconic music. traitor’s requiem, modern crusaders, giorno’s theme, and the fUCKING TORTURE DANCE are unelievable. i love them. god. also everyone should watch the dub at least once because you get to hear jonah scott call a kid “jailbait” and fugo’s voice actor is unhinged. i love it.

4. part 2: battle tendency. what this part lacks in me forgetting half the plotpoints because i haven’t seen it in so long, it makes up for in the fucking opening, the pillar men, and JOSEPH FUCKING JOESTAR. god. what a gem of a little idiot. also lisa lisa is hot. look her up. she muzzles joseph at some point. queen shit.

5. part 1: phantom blood. LOOK. IT MAY BE AT THE BOTTOM OF MY LIST BUT I AM AN AGGRESSIVE DEFENDER OF PART 1. NOBODY FUCKING APPRECIATES THIS PART. i am of the personal opinion that all part skippers and people who suggest skipping parts should be shot. how are you gonna go watch part 3-5 without knowing who the fuck dio is??????? 🤨 dumb. dumb dumb idiots. anyway johnathan joestar is the only straight man in the world. absolute fucking gentleman. and dio???? god damn. you can’t skip this if you want to appreicate him fully. and the goddamn. fucking. memes. in this stupid part. i know people play the “kono dio da” thing to death but watching “goodbye jojo” happen for the first time is like being blessed with a thousand dollars in cash. it’s so funny. this is when the men are BIG BIG BIG and it makes for a fun time. finally, johnathan’s theme is the most distinct theme for any of the protagonists and i can’t believe how perfect it is. they pulled out the full orchestra for this absolute king. god. what a good fucking boy.

Random question, but how do you feel about Shirabu?

IN LOVE. i adore him. i wrote for him here if you haven’t already seen it. i just find him delightful. slightly grumpy but definitely the sweetest sub after you put some pressure on him. he’s one of the characters i feel like i don’t appreciate enough. he makes me want to rewatch season 3 because i want to remember what he’s like.
