kei seems like he would purposely spread misinformation to break up reader and aki. reader comes over to hangout with tsukki. he tells her he has the house to himself because akiteru left to go out with some random girls (it was actually a last minute work meeting)
omg he's such a pot stirrer LOL
aw but what if reader believed him? 😔 what if it's wayyyy before akiteru and reader have sex for the first time? they've only kissed/made out a couple of times, nothing super serious.
but for reader those few, fleeting moments mean everything to them. being pulled into a dark corner by akiteru's imposing form as his massive hands hold your head to drown you with affection.
it's hard to not be super noticeable when return to the living room to sit next to kei on the couch, knees feeling like jelly. but kei isn't stupid, it's obvious something is going on and he wants to put an end to it.
you're over at his house again and barely five minutes have passed when you start asking about his brother. "is aki home?"
you try to say it as innocently as possible but kei already has you figured out. you used to ask, "did your mom make dinner?" or "is your brother here?" but now you're referring to akiteru by name—even worse, you've started calling him "aki" in a dumb, cutesy voice.
it's the same voice you use when you have a crush on someone. you've never said kei's name like that.
"actually, he's out. told me he was going to a bar with a few girls. sounded like a date or something," kei said and the light in your eyes immediately disappears. kei knew exactly where his brother was. a meeting at work ran late so he and his coworkers had to stay in the office a few extra hours. but maybe if you didn't know that small tidbit, you could actually give kei the your undivided attention.
you try to act like his words didn't bother you, shrugging your shoulders and changing the subject.
the night goes on as normal, with the two of you studying for your respective exams before watching a movie. if you were still bothered by akiteru's supposed trysts, you tried not to let it show.
it's late when akiteru finally walks through the front door, kicking off his shoes.
"i'm home," he announces, placing his work bag on the dining table and loosening his tie. akiteru notices the two of you on the couch. "oh, hi, y/n." he says, barely paying attention to his younger brother sitting next to you.
your response was a curt "hi," eyes never leaving the tv screen—a far cry from the "hiii, aki," in your sweetest voice.
it catches akiteru off guard, finally flicking his eyes over at kei who just shrugs his shoulders. after heating up his left over dinner, akiteru sits on the couch, trying his best to make conversation if you two (but mostly you). but you pay him no mind, only giving short, uninterested responses and scooting closer to kei.
when it comes time for you to head home, akiteru innocently offers to walk with you like he usually does. "actually, kei already said he would."
without another word, you and kei head out the door.

"what the fuck were you thinking? you better be wasted...or high or something!" you shouted at him. yamaguchi was in the living room ushering the straggling party guests out of the house, leaving the three of you and kei's girlfriend — your best friend — left.
it was a blur, honestly, he didn't mean for any of it to happen. kei didn't even want to play that stupid game. what university student still plays truth or dare? kei told himself he wouldn't do any stupid dares but yamaguchi, alcohol still heavy on his breath, asked that he kiss the prettiest girl in the room.
his body moved without thinking, brushing past his girlfriend who had her lips already pursed in preparation for a kiss. but kei instead reached for your unassuming mouth, pulling you in for a kiss that left the rest of the room watching in horror.

there was a reason why you were so grumpy before the party started. kei knew you had been talking with his brother earlier that day, probably begging him to stop by "just for an hour or two" but, being a few years older, the thought of hanging out with a bunch of uni students didn't sound like a fun night for akiteru.
hell, kei didn't want to be here either, even with his girlfriend bugging him the entire time. but when you asked him, he jumped at the chance knowing full well that there was another tsukishima on your mind.
a part of kei—stupidly, foolishly—thought that you'd appreciate him more if he spent more time with you in ways that his brother didn't but none of it ever mattered.
"i'm gonna try to get through to her," you finally say, pointing upstairs. "someone's gotta comfort your girlfriend."
you leave kei standing alone, watching you bounce upstairs to try to fix his mistakes. he wants to reach for you and pull you into an embrace but he's sure that you'd only reject him again.

he had been so snippy with you the past few days, which wasn't completely out of the ordinary but he usually had a reason for being upset. "if you're not here to study, go bother yamaguchi," he said curtly."
kei should know better than that, though. you've always been a thorn in his side—a welcomed one most of the time but a thorn nonetheless. his words do little to dissuade you and within a few minutes, he can feel your hands on him again.
"fucking what?" he snaps again, slamming his textbook down on his desk but it barely fazes you.
"just tell me what's wrong and i'll leave you alone," you said, crossing your arms. "i don't think i've done anything wrong to bother you lately so just get over it."
kei is always patient when it comes to you but for some reason, you're the last person he wants to see. he tries to ignore your constant nagging but you're persistent as ever.
and he, unfortunately, snaps.
"do you always have to be so fucking annoying? can't you see i'm trying to do something? do you need attention so bad all the fucking time, jesus," he says, pushing you away from him to turn back to his work.
you tried to speak up for yourself afterward but kei wouldn't hear it. "are you fucking deaf? i don't give a shit, y/n. go bother someone else." he berated again, plugging his headphones in to tune you out.
he isn't quite sure when you left but kei could feel the guilt from his words buzzing inside himself as soon as they left his mouth.
the truth was kei had noticed the closeness between you and his brother and had gotten a little jealous. you had always been his friend and the idea of akiteru swooping in and taking you — sweet, naïve, vulnerable you — into his clutches bothered him.
but the crush you had on kei's older brother was painfully obvious. all your longing stares and heart doodles in the margins of your notebooks were dedicated toward the tall goof. it made kei wonder why you never looked in his direction with the same affection.
still, coming at you like that did nothing to make him feel better and he's sure you're feeling way worse. coming out of his room, kei decides he's gonna go to your place to apologize.
as he's heading to the front door to put on his shoes, he notices the door of akiteru's bedroom. it's slightly ajar but just enough for kei's golden-brown eyes to make a passing glance.
kei stops dead in his tracks when he sees you curled up in his brother's arms, sniffling into his shoulder. "i wasn't trying to bother him, aki, i don't know why he snapped like that," you said, tears still evident by the tone of your voice.
akiteru, who noticed kei as soon as he walked into the hallway, had you in his lap, strong arms curling around you protectively. "shhhh, don't feel bad, baby," he coos, patting your head gently. "maybe he needs some space. why don't we spend time together instead, hm?"
he wipes your tears away, smiling softly at your pretty face, and offers more kind words to help you relax. "there's my pretty girl, let's take a nap," sniffling once more, you nod and allow akiteru to shuffle your bodies around so you're laying in each other's arms in his bed.
