he still sticks close to you when you’re fighting or just out and about but his protectiveness and presence isn’t overwhelming or anything like that — he’s only really there to keep away any risks that you didn’t notice (e.g. a spell thrown your way when you were distracted by another person you’re battling, or a toddler running in front of you too quickly for you to course-correct around safely without his intervention)

though, still, he mainly just leaves you to your own devices (he knows you’re enough of a badass on your own — you beat him plenty of times, after all — so his only job is to be your backup or bag carrier)

if you became blind due to an injury in the isles recently…

hunter becomes much more protective over you than he would be otherwise as you learn to adapt to your new disability — never being too far from you as you adjust your routines, hobbies, and training to work better for you

he feels a great deal of guilt about not being there to protect you and prevent your injury and, as a result, becomes much shorter with people who treat you unkindly

he sticks beside or behind you at all times, even when you’ve had a cane crafted or a seeing-eye animal assigned to you, because he’s petrified of you getting hurt or targeted somehow — this fear slowly fades away as you become more confident and adjusted to your blindness, but even years down the line you’ll always find hunter close by when you’re out and about as a couple

he also looks into different accommodations from the human realm that luz has mentioned before — things like braille typewriters and label makers — and will incorporate them into your daily life to make things as easy as possible for you

if you use a seeing-eye/guide animal then he’s going to make a habit quite quickly of carrying treats for them on him wherever you are — even doing as much research as he can to make sure that they can get a taste of whatever meal you’re both eating without getting sick (he spoils them rotten, quite frankly)

if you use a cane/other inanimate aid, then he’s going to make it his mission to carve/craft you the perfect aid — something that’s the perfect length (but that can also be extended when needed), that has a grip with a texture that isn’t off putting whilst also being difficult to lose grasp of by accident, that is designed in a way that is practical whilst also being suited to your personal style and the life you live, and that can be put away easily and that can be recalled by you when it’s needed (a simple enchantment or glyph or spell should do it — he’ll brainstorm a bit with luz and king the next chance he gets)

Even though the fic itself is comprised of only 15 chapters + an epilogue, I felt thoroughly swept away by the romance of it all. The quick development of the story and feelings provided and immersive experience, which I think then reflected the whirlwind of events occurring in your work. The sheer amount of French sure did surprise me along with the presence of Fran. (She has been pushed to the side for far to long I would say, but that's because of filming conflicts. Did you know they recast her?) The overall story was so historically accurate (to me at least) that I think the overall vibes matched the plot!

Now, to my main topic, my darling Eloise. I noticed how you set her up with her intended partner based on the books, but was also pleasantly surprised that Theo showed up. In my heart, I was rooting for Theo but I love that you paralleled the impossibility along with the benefits that come with their relationship (as shown in the show). The fact that he is a soldier mirrors the fact that he is a lower class in the show, practically the opposite of Eloise. Overall, I still loved every moment of it.

I really loved the idea this was an adventure story almost as much as a romance. And really it was the story of a woman making her own choices despite obstacles. I tried to do research to make it as historically accurate as I was able to and yes there is a smattering of French. The French ppl I know who speak English still throw in French phrases when they talk to British people and I wanted to stay accurate that.

Fran is mentioned briefly yes, and yes I knew she had been recast. I believe at least part of her story may be background in s3, from what I can tell.

Yes I wanted to feature Theo and Phillip for Eloise. Obviously not sure how the show will go, and I have not read her book, but I know enough from mutuals to give her a version of her story with Phillip. I’m glad you enjoyed both of them being featured.

aria! I had a crazy dream last night omg 💀 I was at college with my ex, who suddenly turned into sunghoon which is so much better lmao, and he was like I wanna show you my dorm room so we go there and it's like four guys live in this one room with two bunk beds and one side is him and sunoo and the other is Jake and jungwon and when we got to the room, hoon had to leave so jake took over the tour of the dorm and he was like I wanna show you my bed 😉😉 and so I climbed up into his bed only to see jungwon staring at me from the end of it, I guess he'd been taking a cat nap, and it was super awkward but then jake hurried him out of the room and got into his bed with me and ig I was like super tired bc I started to get comfy and fall asleep so he bit my nose to wake me up and then started giving me wet, open-mouthed kisses on my cheek before climbing on top of me and kissing me,,,but then like, as dreams do, weird time stuff happened and we like fell asleep????? and when we both woke up he was still on top of me so he started kissing me again and sat us up to take my shirt off until we both saw that it was like the middle of the night and everyone else in the dorm was in their beds asleep (sunghoon was not there, he just straight up disappeared ig) and so Jake looked at me and was like let's go for a walk and I was like 🤤 so obv I said yes and then that's where the dream ended

It was both hot and like on crack at the same time which is funny but ngl I would've obvs preferred just hot 🔥 like if Jake kept kissing me while everyone was asleep or if hoon walked in or smth else more interesting than let's take a walk lol

maybe it's a fwb vibe, when y'all make out it's chill but jeonghan had to prevent the words "i love you" to slip out of his mouth when he was fucking you. having intimate moments with him is the best thing you could ask for, just being close to him, or maybe even fucking with him, you think thats enough to make you happy at the minimum but in fact your feelings grow. same goes for jeonghan, although he teases you alot, when your lips are on his he feels complete, but he would never confess not wanting to get friend-zoned.

so you try not to flat out laugh in his face as he attempts to flirt with you. he's trying so hard bless him, but his whole persona has change and you find that both endearing and incredibly hilarious. and glancing over his shoulder you see his friends watching on in horror, yunho and seonghwa simultaneously facepalming themselves and jongho's face scrunched up in utter confusion.

hongjoong's sees your attention is fixated behind him and he thinks you are looking at his friends. so assuming they are supporting him, he turns around to give them a beaming smile and a cheesy thumbs up, only to be not-so-welcomed to their disapproving, embarrassed faces.

he turns back around and his confidence kinda dissapates as he chuckles shyly.

"uhum... sorry about them they umm-"

"i would love to go out on a date with you," you cut him off, not wanting to drag on this whole process further and put him out of his misery...
