There was a scenario I had imagined in which Mario would suffer emotional trauma and keep it to himself to the point of becoming depressed, growing more distant and avoiding others as a result. He would so desperately want for his loved ones to be at peace that he would rather endure unbearable misery in silence than speak on it; not knowing just how tired he really is and how badly he needs to be comforted.

So when Peach would finally -and ever so gently- confront him on the matter, his walls would crumble almost immediately, and he would break down in front of her. Anguish and exhaustion slowly giving way to healing. ❤️‍🩹

#This kept coming back to my mind when I was working on both the confession tangent and the body swap one 🥺#And looking at it... I figured it could indeed technically work for a variety of stories #The context might change but the issue remains 😢#Mario has a lot of trouble opening up about what upsets him #Especially to both his brother and the princess #Who just so happen to be the two people who care about him the most #So the poor man was essentially bound to experience this struggle 😔#But- there's beauty in sorrow. And love in suffering 🤲💖#I have often contemplated drawing a sequence that would showcase this moment #but ultimately felt that it was more impactful as a single image 🌅#It also deeply resonates with me for many reasons #This was a personal one for me 💙#Mario #Princess Peach #Mario x Peach #Mareach #hurt/comfort #Super Mario Bros #Fanart

⋇⋆✦⋆⋇ The Meeting on the Temple Stairs ⋇⋆✦⋆⋇

Hi hiii everyone!! For my second anniversary I did something I've wanted to do for a long time; which is redraw Rex and Brea as this classic painting by Frédéric William Burton! 🥺💙🫶💙 (og colors + painting under the cut!)

It was very fun to experiment with techniques, using shadows and light to create shapes rather than using hard lines. I painted every bit of this myself by hand and (mostly) on one layer to challenge myself and I'm very pleased with the result!

It was also fun to learn more about the original painting and artist as well! It's based off of a Danish ballad about a noblewoman who falls in love with her personal guard, which I did not know when I started painting it but it's absolutely perfect for us! 😭

Perks: seems more routine, sowft snuggly nest to daydream and swoon in, [darling] collage on the wall, '... okay, what have you been doing with that pillow...?'

Drawbacks: Limited space, have to take stability/sinking into account with props, perspective is Hard and I will make that headboard look good or die trying

'The floor'-

Perks: seems more impulsive, more yan/NEET clutter potential (more room to spread out), a glimpse under his bed (and at all the [darling] stuff he's got shoved under there)

Drawbacks: That carpet is UGLY, I will probably (definitely) bite off more than I can chew trying to fill all that space with props, it hurts my Everything just thinking about lying on the floor like that for too long

i had the pleasure of commissioning @jellyaris for this amazing artwork of Harvey and my farmer, Peach. it's somehow more perfect than i could have imagined, and i can't thank them enough!!

based on the following scene from my fic, razing doubt.

Some sunlight managed to brighten the sky behind the clouds. The wind had calmed. Our footsteps were barely audible over the endless patter of the rain. Harvey’s umbrella swung from the crook of my arm while we walked together under mine.

“I’m not sure we’ll make it in time,” Harvey fretted.

“I promised to get you there, didn’t I?”

“Yes, before you dug through everything you own to find your rain boots.”

“Everything I own fits in two drawers and a tiny closet. And if I recall, you were still getting dressed.”

“That’s— I could blame you for that too,” Harvey muttered, color rising to his cheeks.

“No fair,” I said, stepping to the side to get a better look at him. “There’s no way you walked all this way in a rainstorm— before dawn in a rainstorm— just to tell me about some broken phones.”

“Well,” he began, scratching the back of his head. A smile bloomed across his face.

“Well?” I giggled. “Admit it. You just wanted to see me.”

“Your hair’s getting wet.”

“It was barely dry when we left. And don’t change the subject, y—”

In one gentle motion, Harvey caught my arm and whirled me around to face him. The rain had made his wavy hair a bit more wild. His grin dug those tiny little lines around his eyes. My heart pounded as his fingers brushed my cheek, and his eyes bore into mine.

“I wanted to see you,” he said. The look in his eyes pushed the air out of me. His sincerity liquefied my nerve, and I had the urge to hide from him again.

“Okay,” I breathed when I’d found my voice. “Good. Come on. We’re in a hurry, remember?” I took his hand and pulled him after me to the cobblestone path ahead.

He also likes to place a mistletoe anywhere around the house. once he gets his wife to get under it with him, on accident he’s like “oh?…wonder who put that there…” and he’s avoiding eye contact while red in the face, acting innocent🤭 Dude still gets shy whenever they kiss, no matter how many times they’ve done it, it always tends to make his heart skip a beat💕

Tree decorating is ichis favorite part☺️ he loves the way the lights brighten up the Christmas tree and how sparkly the ornaments make it look✨ he also crafted a little angel tree topper, and his parents ADORE IT! They put it on the Christmas tree every year.🎄💖

Christmas morning is just as wonderful🥺 the purest smile on their baby’s face when he opens his Christmas gifts, TRULY PRICELESS😭💜 it never fails to make their heart flutter watching him get so excited. Truly one of the best gifts they’ve ever received was having their baby boi come into their lives, and nothing will ever change that.💜💙🩵
