Could he lose it? Yes, however, the effort required to do so was significant in that he would rather accomplish several tasks of import than appease the opinion of others and his vanity.

Your soft inquiring voice breaks through his thoughts. His attention redirected, from the mirror to the sight of you by the threshold from the hall.

“Sherlock has mocked my weight again,” he sighed, patting the fat on his stomach. “I should be used to it by now, however…”

It was a sore spot from time immemorial. One his brother didn’t hesitate to pick on almost every time they saw each other.

“Are you not bothered by my weight?” he asks, you shake your head: a no, as he faces you, “Truly?”

“Mycroft Holmes, I didn’t care about your weight before we married. I certainly do not care for it much now,” you say as you cup your hands on his cheeks in all seriousness, “I’d rather you eat and overindulge in meals than skip them. It means you’re taking care of yourself. Your job is already stressful and Sherlock being reckless is the literal cherry on top. If partaking in an extra slice of cake can soothe your frayed nerves, then be my guest. However, do save a piece for me, and then we’ll find a way to lose the calories together.“

Your hands trail from his face to his body, noting every curve and contour to memory. He may not be society’s ideal man but you love every part of him. Even those parts that he hates.

“You are incomparable, my dear.” his voice wavered, as he leaned down to rest his forehead on yours. “Thank you,”

“I love you just the way you are, Mycroft,” you whispered, brushing a quick gentle kiss on his lips, “Don’t you ever doubt that,”

To Mycroft, your words were the only ones that truly mattered. Your acceptance and love are a balm to his insecurities and fears. He never thought that he’d ever experience such unconditional love from anyone except his parents. However, it seems that the world has granted him the privilege of being loved by you.

“Would you like to join me in our bedroom, my dear?” he suggested. His eyes twinkled mischievously in the evening light. “I thought of a way to lose those calories,”

@ anon, I am so sorry. When you've sent this ask one eternity ago I started to reply and then got interrupted by mom and then forgot ;-; I can't be trusted with this stuff sometimes I swear.

🔎 I like the idea about him infiltrating Yahar'gul for spyoning, however my "official" timeline and headcanons are different! (is "official headcanon" even a thing? xD) I have him go into Byrgenwerth with Yurie/Julie and Fauxsefka and make his way into Nightmare of Mensis under pretense of being a wayward Byrgenwerth scholar! I've had posts covering this thing in more details as it draws upon some cut content and obscure implications from Mico's dialogoe in Japanese original, but in summary, I think that Lecture Hall used to be accessible from the part of Byrgenwerth in "real" world and it only got locked when Micolash had Rom block the Arcane Lake! Why he blocked the way in the end? Well.... because slowly, Edgar started to warm up to Micolash and find a kindred spirit in him, realizing that Choir was never a right place for him and fellow choirlings never "really" understood him. So he ended up confessing having been spying on him and playing part in figuring out how to ruin his Nightmare.

🔎 I think he avoided wearing Blindfold Cap back in Choir, and now that he "joined" School of Mensis he doesn't wear a cage intentionally as well! Choir's Blindfold symbolises entrusting your way and what you are allowed to see to the 'Stars', whereas Mensis Cage missing only one bar at the eyes level symbolizes being allowed to see the cosmic horrors how they are but also repressing free will and personality to not (literally) die from horror at these visions. Neither really appealed to Edgar as he is an individualists and prefers to preserve both the autonomy of his research and autonomy of how he will "take" his discoveries. It is a risky strategy but he is a strong-willed and strong-minded man, besides he got a lot of Sedatives! This attitude made him similar to Laurence which is something I've realized only late in writing him, but now I am using it as an excuse for what attracted Micolash to him.

🔎 Edgar infiltrated at 'warm' season:

🔎 He originally was a teacher in one of the schools under Healing Church's influence! I assume Healing Church hired the foreigners abundantly that's hinted by how Brador's clothes (stated to be foreign) copy male Black Church clothes and foreign set of Paleblood Hunter copies male White Church clothes. But Edgar started to notice that whenever after the nights of the hunt any of his pupils became orphans, soon nice people in white robes from higher echelons would take them and these orphans would never be seen again :/ He was nosy enough to try and figure what was going on, but thanks to his intelligence and actor skills he managed to convince the Choir to let him work for them rather than getting thrown into a jail for people that learned too much. It was painful to manage being around people experimenting on children... at first. He was able to stomach the idea that after how much cosmic horrors were unleashed the world was as good as ending and orphaned children objectively had much higher chance to call upon Great Ones of higher rank than Choir's half-human ally Ebrietas and receive their wisdom and blessing.

🔎 He is really physically fit, actually! The guy can throw a very good punch. Not just because he uses Ludwig's Holy Blade, but there are also stats indicating he is stronger than frikin ALFRED and I can't forget this detail for even one day:

🔎 For as long as Edgar remembered he was unintentionally rude, very rarely emoting and when he did it was very strong and explosive, appearing as though he was not interested in feelings and lives of others, not running his mouth in vain (save for his special interests) and of course he would not do things that made no sense for him. His first attempt at dating ended up pretty toxic as his girlfriend not only could not quite accept him and expected him to magically "warm up" in relationship, but also kept emotionally manipulating him into abiding by her demands. Like I said, he would not do shit for others, no matter how simple, if it made no logical sense in his eyes, so seeing how she never could have her way with him without going through proving her point to him rationally, she resorted to the worst kind of behavior - guilt-tripping and threatening. He was only a teenager back then and that unfortunate relationship made him falsely conclude that maybe women were just like that, so he searched a guy to date later. The very first guy that shown interest in him, who was also..... well, older let's call it that. But that guy walked his own dark path, did crimes and tried to pull Edgar into all that using Edgar's extraordinary intelligence and sense of alienation from society, and eventually absconded.

🔎 He also had a best friend that his parents tended to treat more like their son than Edgar himself. A friend who also claimed credit over blueprints of Edgar's inventions that he left behind when he departed to seek Yharnam unable to help his curiousity over what THE heck that town was doing (the world travelled). Some people were sad that Edgar left, like teachers, library workers, various people he's been helping with voluntary work. He also once protected a couple from getting robbed - like I said, the guy is STRONG. But yeah, he was a good man, and for many people, he just had a bad luck of choosing the wrong kind as close ones.

🔎 Pearl Slug item suggests that the Augurs might be all different colors! At Choir, Edgar enjoyed sorting the unhatched eggs of the slugs by the color when he had a free minute x) Another funny habit is to pretentiously fumble with an abacus when he is sharing some numbers. He would also get very antsy if someone took HIS Choir Bell, even if they were all the same and not branded and interchangeable. He actually always gets extremely protective over 'his' things in terms where they are all interchangeable and there is no ownership per say.. Once he uses something, it is now HIS and he feels nearly spiritual attachement to it. When he abandoned his Choir tools to display to Micolash that he DID stick by his side from now own, he was especially reluctant to give away his Call Beyond simply because Micolash would keep it instead of just letting it flee. To this day Edgar is slightly uneasy with it, as if Micolash owns a part of his 'soul' by it.. and at the same time, he finds strangely erotic enjoyment in the fact.

🔎 It is really hard to make him laugh, but he does have sense of humor! He just 'laughs internally' most of the time.

🔎 Remember how I said he was brave and disobedient to authority to a fault, and it was his intelligence that had Choir decide he was worth this stress and too precious to just get rid of? This guaranteed he heard all about Laurence from his new friends. People that knew Laurence well joked that they could've been "twins" and would get along. It was not the first in his life when he felt like he knew people he never met better than people in his own life.

🔎 He can get overly affectionate at someone saying a lot of smart things (that they genuinely comprehend, of course) or passionately sharing something they know a lot about. If he is close with someone and they are doing this, he will reach the point of shiny eyes and willing to suffocate them in a hug :') When Micolash is being very nerdy, Edgar might start smooching him uncontrollably. Like... yeah, normal flirting will make Edgar a bit shy at most, you charm him by opening your soul to him by infodumping!

🔎 Edgar strongly prefers to 'stay in shape'. That's why he'd go fight some beasts willingly even when they were not a direct treat to him and it was predominantly "dirty job" for Black Church hunters escort, that's why he carries people in his arms when there is a reason (so yes, do not confuse it with him being overly gentlemen-ish x) ). In the Nightmare, he might as much as pick a friendly fight with the residents, like fencing with one of the Shadows for example xD He sometimes also likes testing himself by being around Winter Lanterns.. That usually doesn't end well and Micolash has to save him. Yes, MICOLASH has to save someone from going insane. I swear all kind of wild shit happens with these two fjhfdhfsd

Everything ✨Onward✨ in the 2022 Pixar Character Encyclopedia! 📖

Today, an updated version of the Pixar Character Encyclopedia has been released!

It includes all Pixar films up to Lightyear, which means...yes, Quest Masters!! Onward is featured in this 200-something page book!

I decided to purchase the e-book and see all the pages for myself (cause really, I could not resist!) and six characters from this beautiful, exciting, needs more attention masterpiece make the cut from pages 224 to 229—comprising of Ian, Barley, Laurel, Wilden, Colt, and The Manticore!

But that isn't all the Onward rep that's in this book...

Some thoughts...

After seeing just Ian on the front cover of this book for weeks leading up to its release, I’m delightfully surprised and pleased that they included Barley on the inside front cover! and that both he AND Ian are on the table of contents page! thank you book for recognizing how important these bros are and how important they are to each other by putting them together! 😁

If you look carefully on the name borders of Ian and Barley's character pages, I think Guinevere makes a cameo! I wanna say those are her wheels...

Also LOVE the side borders! That has the concept art of the back cover of the Art of Onward book written all over it!

I really appreciate just how much they emphasize that Ian has discovered he has these strange, new magical powers within himself! Not only because it doesn't just happen to anyone (only those with the magic gift can do it), but because Ian didn't know he had them in the first place! of course this might just be me being bias on my love of the "magic that has been with a person all along is finally awakened" trope lol

also that's Barley's presence makes Ian more confident in himself! honestly SO TRUE!! and lol [his] face resembles his father's, a little on the nose but YES!!!!

I really treasure how they say Barley loves his family more than anything on his page! In fact, they pretty much say it twice! it's that important!

and that he doesn't care what anyone else thinks! Magic is what he believes in even if it seems like a waste of time and nothing worth spending time on to others...it's his belief in magic still existing in their world that saves the fountain from being torn down!

OMG "cast protects mysterious injury..." well, we all know it's from doing something Barley thought was a good idea, but even the book doesn't know what happened...but mysterious?...as in mysterious circumstances, perhaps? something way out of the oridinary? hmm...now that intrigues me... 👀

I love that they highlight Laurel missing having Wilden around, Colt may be her boyfriend, but she still cares for her sons' father!

Man, I didn't think her protein shake would be something I'd magnify on often, but I had no idea until I looked that it was chocolate flavored! guess chocolate can be be green in this world...

Oooooh, Wilden loved thinking about the old days and had a soft spot for adventure! I LOVE THAT A LOT! I don't think that's something that's thought about a lot...

Colt plans on becoming the fastest cop in town! not just fast, but the fastest! That is awesome!

Also interesting to know that he polishes his hooves...

The Manticores's tattoos aren't JUST tattoos! They're tattoos of some of her past adventures! NICE!

i know what you mean about 2x05 especially, it always bothers me. i swear, on my death bed i'm gonna be like "the drew crew's treatment of nancy in 2x05 was unfair and while they "apologized" i wanted a more substantial apology, especially because nancy never forced them into anything with the agleaca" and everyone is gonna be like "okay, can you please move on from this?" lol. i agree about the wraith storyline, i think that one and nancy being lucy and ryan's daughter are the strongest storylines they had on the show and were the best executed (but regardless, the writers always managed to leave me surprised, they definitely knew what they were doing!)

sorry for smashing your inbox with a long ask but I need an opinion, writing a badass (Tokyo revengers x katekyo hitman reborn) fanfiction Takemitchi's secret mafioso AU where he is a part of the Varia assassin squad but comes back to japan save his friends from doom since the universe likes to kill off his friends regardless of Mikey having the dark karma or not. Then wants to leave without a trace again after saving everyone again. Oh boy, it's gonna be a ride trust me. Takemitchi went back so many times to save Mikey that he gains unique abilities like he can see the future in all of its possibilities. He finally finds a solution to save Mikey: he takes on the dark karma so he is the one getting a bad future so everyone is finally going to be happy. It works but due to that, he unlocked forbidden flames called night flames (it's a unique weather flame in khr) and regular weather flames called clouds. So he is in limbo about what to do next sorts but gets saved by Varia. Thanks to the impulse hes amazing at killing and they need a cloud guardian since they lack one so they become his second family. They teach him how to control the flames and how to be an assassin ( honestly Varia is Toman but rowdy and crazier). So perfect, Right? Wrong. When he time travels he lands on different timelines that deviate from the previous one. The same world just a different ending because of that he ends up becoming Draken's half-brother somehow and the universe (me the writer sorry) said MORE ANGST and Takemitchi is now from a family line of badass assassins and it was either him or Draken. To save Draken he goes through the training and becomes more eh better at the murder part. Draken has no clue he has a sibling or is part of this huge assassin family legacy. Draken believes his mom had mentioned he had a sibling but assumed she was drunk and insane at the time. Later on, he finds clues that this might be true so he starts 🔎. Takemitchi goes back in one more time to make sure this is the timeline everyone is happy with but him. He makes Kisaki and Hinata get together, makes sure Shinichiro lives, makes sure Kakuchos parents dont die and Izana isn't a bitch. Sanzu doesn't gets his scars. He helps found Toman and just vanishes then comes back and they are like ???? That is suspicious that is weird what are you hiding? How do you always know when we are in danger why do you keep saving us all? Why? They all start 🔎. Here are my questions: make Takemitchi have like a whole-ass split personality driven by this dark karma to make the others be more sus of him? ( even without the second personality Takemitchi will be sus due to his anatomy not being normal human he will have wings and stuff since he got modified to be a tengu yes I have a reason no it is not because I want to see Takemitchi in wings nope ( tengus are jap spirits that have wings and sharp claws)) Should I make this a male Takemitchi or a female one? Should I make it a Takemitchi to have both female and male bits? Well, it is a Takemitchi x all fic that I won't be explicit I want to focus on angst, not romance. What ya think this has been haunting me rn.

Of course JL sings songs and lyrics that other people wrote for him. "World on Fire" for example was written by Ed Sheeran. the producer Oscar Neidhardt talked about it himself when it came out. Ed sent them the song and JL took it. So that's a fact. The man sings songs other people wrote, maybe he added a little bit. That's exactly why I believe he didn't write (most of) NNLY.
