The Sun is entering Leo and soon Venus follows, Mars already hanging along in this brave fire sign, it's the middle of summer - the season of Fire, what better time to make a Fire element enchanted candle, right?! Brave yourself, this post is loooong and for a very strong enchantment (or just for guidance of what to use, since there are so many optional parts in this!) Go with your own flow!

🌞 First I suggest doing some research of corresponding symbols (runes) and energies (Sun, Mars, tarot cards) and find what's necessary for yourself.

(Since I'm still learning I wrote everything down to later on use in the enchanting ritual, it really helped me a lot.)

ℑ𝔱𝔢𝔪𝔰 𝔣𝔬𝔯 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔢𝔫𝔠𝔥𝔞𝔫𝔱𝔪𝔢𝔫𝔱:

🕯 red candle. red colour resonates with Fire energy. (you can also apply this method for any other enchantment, for doing so, check the candle colour correspondence with your intent). Bees wax candle would be best, but use what you've got! I had a casual store bought paraffin wax candle, when I make my own I use soy wax and leftover pieces of old candles.

💧cleansing water to banish any unwanted energies from the candle. It can either be spring water, salt water or any other cleansing substance that you prefer. You might also need a cloth or towel to dry the candle off, but that's optional.

O P T I O N A L :

🎗If you don't have a red candle, you can use a colour corresponding ribbon or yarn/thread instead. Just tie it around the candle and - voila! - it's a more fiery candle than it was before! (:

💎 colour corresponding stones. e.g. fire opal, ruby, red garnets, citrine, red jasper, bloodstone, quarts, tiger's eye, warm toned agate, amber, carnelian... Any red, orange, also yellow, white stones would do, the very basic crystal/stone magic starts with the colours of the objects (; (I chose some granites and other igneous rocks I had, also carnelian and citrine.)

🌺 essential oils to anoint your candle with or herbs. for that lit fire energy- cinnamon, clove, juniper, hibiscus, thistle, red poppy, garlic, chilli, coffee beans, ash tree, oak, cedar, cashew, walnut, chestnut, fig pomegranate, strawberry, any kind of seeds... Herbs can be used either in cleansing water, charging oil or simply put around the candle, or even - if you go as far as making the candle yourself, you can add the dried herbs in the candle, just be careful !! don't add too much of them and make sure they don't catch fire whilst the candle is burning!

✖️ runes. I find this very personal and suggest for you to do your own research and follow your intuition in choosing which runes to use. You can either put them around your candle or engrave them in the wax. I did both. Here are some for inspiration: Teiwaz corresponds to Mars Sowelo corresponds to the Sun Kennar corresponds to Fire Uruz corresponds to strength, power, courage (Fire virtues)

🔮 tarot cards. Same as for runes, I find choosing tarot cards a personal game and suggest you to pick those you find necessary. The house of Wands stands for the element of fire. I found this post very helpful in deciding what cards to use for the enchantment. My tarot deck

🗡 if you wish to engrave symbols or words on your candle, you'll obviously need a dagger or any other sharp object to do this with. It definitely doesn't have to be athame or fancy ritual dagger unless you have one, of course. Whatever you use, I'd suggest cleansing it before. I used a flint cutter I had flintknapped myself.

🦊 figurines or pictures, symbols of corresponding nature, entities You can include anything that symbolises or illustrates fire ruled naturescapes or beings, for example, desert and arid climate, volcanoes, lava, hot springs, foxes, scorpios, snakes, lions, cats, coyote. This also includes magical creatures like dragons and phoenix and entities you personally believe in. And symbols/pictures of the Sun, Mars and stars, as they are also guided by the energy of Fire.

📆 For an extra boost for the enchantment I suggest checking the time of the year, month, week and the Moon phase, as well as other astrological happenings, but it is not an obligation, do as you feel. ✌🏻 I performed the enchantment ritual on Tuesday, the day ruled by energy of Mars, power and courage, but I had not planned it out to be so, my inner flow guided me this way.

🧭 Fire is associated with the direction of South. If you wish to include the direction in your ritual, you might need a compass to make sure you're facing the right direction.

Remember that everything else except for the candle is highly optional. I did not use half of what I've written above.

��𝔥𝔢 𝔯𝔦𝔱𝔲𝔞𝔩:

Gather everything you'll be using and cleanse the ritual space. However you do this is up to you - you can either meditate, visualise, burn an incense, whatever feels right for you.

Lay out your materials, acknowledging the meaning of every single item. Focus on their presence.

Prepare the candle by washing in with cleansing water. ! Make sure you don't wet the wick ! Remember that in performing any ritual, intent is the most important. Whatever you do, put an intent to every action you do. E.g., whilst washing your candle, think or speak words/visualise of your intention, for example, “The magickal water cleanses thee with good intent and purity”. The same applies for the ritual in a whole, you must be sure of your intention, why you are performing it.

Afterwards call upon the element of Fire to invoke it. Do this by facing South and thinking/saying words to invoke the element. You can come up with your own text, you can also just visualise, but even just quietly whispered words have a stronger impact, in my opinion.

Here and now, I evoke the elemental force of fire. The flames of creativity and passion, Dancing source of heat, light, and life. I seek the glowing force within That I might warm myself with Desire, excitement, courage, and inspiration. I call you forth to burn away All that impedes my highest vision And to enact change in the world. Lightning and heart, Heart and force Fire, I call thee hence

Ask the element what you wish for. Ask for it to charge this candle with it's properties (state desired virtues).

Call upon any deity if you wish to. I asked Latvian Goddess Mara, who is also associated with the element of Fire, to give her blessings and support.

Add in the corresponding items, anoint the candle with essential oils or herbal oil infusion. As I picked up an item which's energy I wanted to be transferred in the candle, I called it's name (this especially goes for runes and tarot). I put the stones and runes around the candle in a circle, I ordered the tarot in an outer circle around the candle as well.

Engrave any signs, symbols or sigils in your candle. I engraved the symbol of fire (regular, empty triangle or empty circle), (Alchemy) symbols of the Sun and Mars, and a lot of runes.

Once again speak or think/visualise your intent, repeat your spell or intent as many times as you find necessary. Repeating it over and over again can grow it's power.

Finish the enchantment spell with ending words such as “And so it is”/ “The spell is cast”/ ”The candle is enchanted”///

You can either burn the candle right away, use it for certain rituals (if so, you must state this in your intent in before enchanting the candle), or leave it for a couple of hours with all the items surrounding it, so it would really absorb their energy. Daytime of fire is noon, I left my candle with all the used items for the whole noontime to charge.
