The Autumnal Feast Begins

Castle Xandoria was bustling with activity today, as this was Alexander’s first autumnal feast to be held in a decade. All of the king’s friends and allies were invited, along with the local nobles and aristocrats of the land. Naturally, security was high as a precaution as ranks of the royal guard were out and about, directing traffic and the guests to where they needed to go.

The castle radiated warmth and tantalizing aromatics as the feast was being held in the throne room, where the monarch could sit perched on his throne and oversee everything. There he sat sipping spiced wine from a golden jeweled chalice, and feasted on candied figs.

The kitchens were in full swing; Cromwell at the helm orchestrating the dishes and the setting of the great long table. Every servant was busy with appointed tasks, making sure the space was kept neat and clean, making sure the dishes were set, and making sure the decorations were placed properly.

The ball room was also open, a vast ornate space where a full orchestra was playing, where guest could go to dance and mingle. The gardens were also open but the section where Sasha resided was restricted and heavily guarded.

The menu for this evening was varied, in combination with the delectable dishes and drink brought in from the king’s friends and allies his line cooks offered a succulent spread of: A variety of meats ranging from roasted suckling pig, wild game turkeys, roasted hens, salmon, lamb, whole cows, fresh breads, warming stews, ham with a pear and saffron chutney, roasted potatoes and squashes, stuffed pumpkins, an herb dressing, sweet rolls, honey cakes, apple pies, pumpkin pies, devils food cake, red velvet cake, custard, candied figs, spiced wine, ale, and mead.

For each new guest that came in Alexander would give a hardy greeting too. He was marry, and happy to share his feast with his friends and family. 🍂

yes, thank you! blanket apology that i've been so slow with you are strange, but it's coming along!!

superchan: the funny thing about this file is that it's split into two sections: jeongchan's story and felix's story, neither are fully formed at the moment. i haven't really had much of a chance to work on it since i've been busy and trying to focus on you are strange first, but i can say a part of the plot for chapter two is that jeongin tries chasing down an exclusive interview with superman, much to chan's dismay, he eventually gets it because of his ace investigative journalist skills (or so he thinks)

felix's story, which again isn't fully formed at the moment, takes place over the course of felix's first year on earth as he grieves and learns to be human basically

i don't have a snippet i'm happy with for the main fic but here's a bit from felix's story:

"I can't believe I've been frozen for almost twenty-eight years," Felix grumbles, he still hasn't gotten used to the fact that it’s been so long. That Chris is no longer the baby that Felix was put in charge of protecting. In fact, he’s not even younger than Felix anymore. Chris is a fully grown adult, and on this planet he is a superhero, powerful and strong and protecting others all over the world. Clearly not in need of protection, and certainly not from Felix. His first instinct is to protect Chris still even if he doesn’t need to, because in Felix's mind it was just a few weeks ago that he was barely able to walk, let alone talk. It all makes him feel unbalanced because his one purpose was to take care of Chris and he isn’t sure what he’s supposed to do now.  He frowns, "You were a baby to me and now you're... Old." "You're the old one," Chris retorts. "Not really," he says, "Being frozen does that to a person."

felix never bad: this one is actually my newest wip!! i actually had the idea for awhile now but never wrote it, i also have not actually written much more than two paragraphs for it. anyways, it's a seunglix fic based on the show dash and lily which if you're not familiar with is a series where the main characters become anonymous pen pals via a journal that they trade back and forth with dares to each other throughout the holiday season (hence the christmas evel ref). one of the characters is optimistic and loves christmas, the other is more gloomy and hates it (i'm sure you can guess who gets to be who); they encourage each other to try new things and of course fall in love through their words. it's so cute and wholesome, i want to write it for christmas but knowing me i probably won't have it finished in time for this year

.: Back to Normalcy :.

Two days.

Two days the king had been stuck in his mid-point form, roaming his grounds and forests miserably, trying to figure out how to change back. He had finally gained control of this version of himself, tamed it. Being stuck in it for 48 hours had helped with that, but now he was tired. He couldn’t stay this way, he didn’t need to be like this. This was for an extra boost in power and being in for so long made him hurt and tired. He ate three times as much and that was detrimental to the environment.

He had to change back, now.

He had found himself in a clearing, quiet and unassuming. Sunshine filtered through the trees that were just starting to have their buds burst with leaves. Alexander stared at his larger hands, and closed his eyes.

He thought about how smaller he usually was, his two toned mane, his shorter snout, his wingless back. How comfortable he felt in his own scales prior to this. He thought of his face, and how much he wished to be his normal self, so badly wanting to shift back. He believe himself to be in control and not consumed by his own beast. It felt nice to think like this, it made him feel good, and lighter.

He opened his eyes, and felt so much better. Suddenly the weight of heavy horns and wings were gone. They were gone. His original crown of horns were back to normal, his wings vanished, that long heavy tail had reduced in size…He did it, he was back!

The dragon lord sighs heavily, relieved and exhausted.

He would make his way home, in need of a bath and hours of rest.

Next step is to harness his new power.
