I just realized something. we’ve all kinda realized that Tim didn’t need to die, right? The ritual wouldn’t have worked in the first place anyway. And I just saw a post mentioning this with (an obvs sarcastic) “thank you Jonah 🙂” at the end. BUT THAT MADE ME THINK.

The Not-Them is a creature of the stranger, and when it killed Sasha, caused them paranoia, and then chased Jon through the tunnels, that theoretically would have given him a mark, YES?

which leads me to believe the only fucking reason that Elias told them of the ritual was to get Jon to “die” and go into the coma, becoming a full avatar. Sure, Nikola technically told him beforehand when she broke into Georgie’s house and then she kidnapped him bla bla bla but Jonah definitely made things worse imo, specifically telling them it was on them to deal with it.
