People seem to have this unrealistic expectation of Alys. People pictured the white woman from Merlin when they thought of her, but her physical appearance isn’t given much note on.

We have official artwork that shows her having dark hair and the books mention that she looks young for her age, but that’s it.

The only really important physical characteristic for Alys Rivers is that she looks younger than she is. Which Gayle does(she and Ewan look the same age even though she’s 7/8 years older than him).

And even if she was hit, plenty of unattractive women have a man(some are even with way more attractive men than them). It’s about the allure/personality/charm. Not necessarily looks.
