#& so Baby Lena Luthor strikes again

It starts on a game night unlike any other, because this time, in what Kara is narrating to the bored audience of three as the plot twist of the century, Lena is losing.
Lena, Kara realized very early on in their friendship, is extremely serious about game night. She will not play Monopoly unless everyone promises not to tap out out of boredom. The vein in her forehead will throb when paired with Brainy for charades. She will dust off her yoga mat the day before to stretch her muscles for twister.
All this is to say that Lena hates, hates, losing. If there is one thing that she hates even more, it’s losing in front of an audience- and not just any audience, but Nia, Sam, and Winn, who will tease her mercilessly for it.
Alex is rapidly draining Lena’s money from the plethora of traintracks which Lena, by some ill stroke of luck, keeps landing on over and over again, having to pay 200 dollars each time, and she wastes no energy trying to hide her smug delight, her evil cackling rivalling Lex’s. Lena’s all huffy and annoyed despite her best attempts to hide it when she finally succumbs into bankruptcy.
“Aw, it’s okay baby.” Kara throws an arm around Lena’s shoulder to pull her in for a sidehug, but Lena doesn’t melt into it- instead she stiffens, aiming a deeply unsettling glare at Kara.
“Do not call me that.”
Sam is now openly laughing at Lena’s lousy sportsmanship and Winn is doing some sort of jig with a wicked grin. Kara, for her part, can not for the life of her remember whether she’s called Lena baby before now.
A part of her is sure that she has, and that Lena had taken it well- lit up, even, and gone soft in that play-reluctant way of hers that Kara loves. But the other part, the forgetful one, the one that had been daydreaming of scenarios similar to this one for years before Lena and her recently started dating, isn’t so sure.
No petnames, noted, she thinks, and soon forgets about it.
Lena’s bruised ego is soothed by her subsequent wins in pictionary and hungry hippo, and she ends up eagerly staying over. They have a wonderful night, and a wonderful morning. It’s a flurry of heartbearts and all those feelings that people attribute to the honeymoon phase but which Kara thinks will probably be for forever, because she’s been getting the same butterflies since the day she met Lena all those years ago.
So it’s really odd when, sometime during Lena’s stay, her mood shifts.
It’s not the first time it’s happened. Usually if she’s bothered by something serious she tries to hide it and act like nothing’s wrong, but when it’s something silly, like starting the day with a bad cup of coffee, or Andrea missing one of their weekly lunches, it renders her heavy footed, frowny, silently begging for Kara to ask what is wrong and fix it with a hug or a forehead kiss.
Kara is bemused and half worried that Lena’s heavy steps would break that one rickety floorboard in her kitchen. She approaches Lena from behind and molds herself to her back.
Lena melts, her grip on the tea box easing. Kara’s heart starts fluttering rapidly the way it’s been doing each time they’re physically close. “Tell me what’s wrong,” she says.
Lena’s grip tightens around the tea bag like she’s gathering the strength to send her away. Kara sneaks her hand under her shirt, warm hand splaying over her tummy. She kisses the back of her neck, nuzzling the skin. “Tell me. Please?”
Lena turns around and kisses her. Kara doesn’t so much allow herself to be distracted by it as she is swept into it. Lena tastes like the tea she was replenishing, feels like heaven, and before Kara knows it she has Lena perched on the counter and is pressing herself as closely as she can between her legs, sucking the last hint of sweetness straight off Lena’s tongue.
Her brain catches up and she pulls back, fingers gently weaving through Lena’s hair to stop her from following. It takes a few more kisses and soft touches to coax the answer out of Lena, and when it finally comes it’s so sweet- Kara will never forget the shy drag of Lena’s nose along her cheek where she chose to hide her face, or the agonizing preciousness of having to urge the words out of her, or the way she made Kara’s heart flip-flop in her chest in a display that would’ve been the highlight of the Olympics.
“What did you say?” Kara asks, and Lena whines at having to repeat herself.
“You stopped calling me baby.”
Kara knew it. She knew Lena loved it when she called her that, but the vehemence with which Lena reacted to it on game night confused her.
“I thought you hated it?”
Lena’s nail scratches down Kara’s shoulder, slipping under her collar. “Not when we’re alone.”
Kara grins. She loves having like Lena like this- more bossy, more affectionate, more playful, more everything that Kara loves about her. It’s as if she’s finally getting to see the full scope of Lena Luthor. She knows that it’s harder for Lena to show her good side than it is her bad, and she is honored, so honored.
“Just for me?” she asks, teasing, and Lena huffs, her expression souring.
One baby is all it takes to fix it. Kara adds an I love you for extra measures.

To Lena: r u busy??? U didnt answer my calls. Dinner later?
To Lena: my place.
To Lena: Or yours! Can totally go to urs. If u want.
To Lena: Lena????
To Lena: where are u??
To Lena: Answer my calls
To Lena: Pls?
Kara rounds the corner of her hallway, keys bitten, dangling from her lips, as she types with both hands. Her 67th text message of the day to an MIA Lena Luthor sent. She fails to notice the creature lurking around the front of her door; dark fur shining under the cheap LED lights of Kara’s corridor.
She’s still deeply absorbed in her phone with worry, in the middle of jamming her keys in with one hand, when something furry brushes against her legs and Kara yelps.
She pulls the knob clean out of the wood in shock, her phone dropping to the floor loudly, the cat doing a duet with her with a startled yowl of her own.
Heart hammering and adrenaline racing, Kara looks down and sees the cat for the first time.
“Oh! Oh!” she gasps, “I didn’t see you there, buddy. I’m sorry for startling you!! I didn’t mean it.”
The door knob clatters loudly to the ground as it falls out of her grasp. And Kara sheepishly feels guilty for the hole in her door. But the cat meows loudly, catching her attention, as if in response to her apology.
She crouches down low, and reaches out a hand to touch the furball. She snaps a quick pic, sends it to Lena and pockets her phone.
To Lena: KITTY!!
“Oh, oh come here,” she coos, “where’s your collar? How’d you get here huh?”
The cat reminds her of Streaky. The first stray who ever took to her kindly. Although upon closer inspection, Kara realizes this one has striking emeralds for eyes, Streaky’s eyes were a more softer blue.
The cat surprisingly seems friendly, immediately leaning into Kara’s touch. Nosing at the inside of Kara’s wrist and it’s such a familiar gesture but she can’t seem to remember why.
And...oh, a small rumbling echoes through Kara’s palm!
Oh, they’re purring!
Kara doesn’t know how long she stays there crouched low exactly, but eventually, she stands up, takes her hand away, and picks up the damaged doorknob.
“Well, time for you to go home now, buddy,” she tells them, giving their head one last pat before dusting off her hands on her jacket.
“Go on, shooo. Shoo. Go home. I’m sure your human is looking for you.”
But the cat remains unmoving. It looks like they’ve decided to sit firmly in front of Kara’s doorstep, casually licking a paw, as if waiting for Kara to open her door.
“Are you actually waiting for me to open my door?” Kara makes a mental note to thank Rao that none of her neighbors can see her trying to hold a proper conversation with a cat.
“Look, kitty,” she says firmly, “I’m not your human.”
The cat just blinks owlishly at her. Eyes too green, too intelligent and-
Kara makes up her mind.
She turns her face skywards, takes a deep breath (This will probably backfire, she already knows. But she's always had a soft spot for strays.) and then she pushes her door wide open.
The cat races inside, cutting through Kara’s legs and almost tripping her.
“Well, somebody’s excited,” Kara mutters under her breath, she watches the cat head for her living room couch; watches as they pause all of a sudden, changes course and jumps onto Kara’s coffee table instead.
Where the cat then proceeds to knock down everything in close vicinity, even the picture frame of her and Lena together.
“Hey! No! Bad kitty-”
But the cat is already hopping down from her pedestal, landing on the frame directly.
And then things get weird.
The cat proceeds to stomp all over it, meows loud, like really loud; insanely loud for a cat their size.
Her paw seems to be almost pointing? At the other person in the frame.
“I-” Kara seems taken aback by the bizarre behavior, sure she knows cats are vastly different from dogs, but this…
This is just weird.
The cat’s meowing only seems to get louder.
How you land yourselves in these situations, Kara. I really just don’t know, at this point. She can almost hear Alex say.
“What are you- Are you- are you pointing? That’s- That’s Lena, yeah. That’s my best friend.”
At that, the cat seems to vibrate. They start clawing at Kara’s pant leg, meowing and meowing and meowing—
And then it hits her.
"-but it turns out that she’s a witch. And apparently, so am I."
The green, green eyes.
A pink nose nuzzling against her wrist.
“Lena?”
******
“Oh, Rao! Lena you’re a cat! What happened?! Oh, no, baby what did you do?”
Lena-
Lena The Cat—and okay, so she’s still wrapping her head around that one—just stays silent. She’s sitting on her lap, looking regal than any cat has any right to be. A judgmental look in her eyes.
Lena’s a cat. Cat’s can’t speak. Can’t answer Kara’s questions.
“Right. Sorry. Only meow,” Kara murmurs, embarrassed. For some reason even in cat form Lena manages to be intimidating.
“Okay so, uh d-does that mean you still understand me? Two meows for yes. One meow for no.”
Kara gets two meows.
“Okay, cool, cool. Great. You can still understand me, that's good.” Kara runs a hand down her spine, “Gosh, your fur is just so soft.”
She hears Lena give a small growl, body tensing, “Right. Right. Sorry. Not the time for pets.” Kara retracts her hand away.
“Uhm, so next question then, I guess? D-did you become a cat this morning? Were you testing out your uhm...gift?”
Lena meows twice. Kara nods, clenching and unclenching her fist underneath her chin. Fingers itching to run themselves through Lena’s soft fur again. Lena seems to sense this, and nuzzles her face into Kara’s hand, bumps against her repeatedly.
“Really?” Kara double-checks, giddy. If she were human Kara bets Lena would be rolling her eyes like she always does when Kara does something particularly dorky, but she just pushes her head firmer against Kara’s hand and meows twice.
“So uhm,” she starts, cautiously, noting Lena’s increasing purr, “is there like a spellbook for this or something? Something that can help you transform back?
Lena meows yes.
“Is it in The Tower or back at your place?”
There are no responses.
“Sorry, sorry lemme rephrase, is it in The Tower?”
She gets two consecutive meows.
Okay, to The Tower it is.
******
“Are you going to tell me why you’re cradling a cat in your cape or??” Alex raises a brow at her, a hand on her hip, left foot tapping impatiently. Her sister was heading out for the day, it looks like. It was just tough luck that Supergirl landed one minute before the elevator took Alex.
Crap. Now they have to explain. They didn’t talk about this. Lena still hasn’t told her if it was okay to tell people about her gift.
“I-I rescued it,” Kara says.
Well, that isn’t so far from the truth, right? She stares at the bundle in her arms, Lena the traitor staying silent all the while—green eyes shining all innocent at Kara.
Alex’s stares intensifies.
“From a tree,” Kara flounders, and Lena The Cat has the audacity to yawn, squirm and jump away from her arms. She lands gracefully, tail swishing up in the air and heads straight for the lab.
Alex eyes the cat suspiciously before turning back to Kara. She jabs a finger to her chest. “It better not have any fleas. It better not touch my training mat.”
“She won’t.”
Alex just shakes her head, rolls her eyes, grabs her helmet and walks to the elevator.
Before she goes though, Alex says, “You know, this is gonna sound weird, but I swear I think I saw that same cat slinking out of The Tower earlier this morning.”
“Alex, she’s literally a black cat. There are hundreds of black cats in the city.”
“You're being weirdly defensive about this. Why are you being weird?”
“I’m not.”
Alex seems like she wants to say more, but the elevator dings, and she’s never been more grateful that Kelly makes Alex pick her up from work. Alex huffs out breath, before conceding and disappearing into the lift.
******
The camera flash is what gets Kara busted.
But is it really her fault if she walked in on a cute kitty, hunched over, meowing adorably, trying to flip over the pages of a thick spellbook, with her teeny-tiny bean paws?
Lena hisses at her, teeth-bared and fur puffy.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. But you were just really, really, really cute okay?” She walks closer to the desk, carefully lifts a hand and scratches Lena behind the ear.
The hissing slowly devolves into purring, and Kara grins triumphantly. Lena lets herself be picked up after a few moments, Kara leafing through the pages for her.
“So, found anything yet?” She asks, cradling Lena close to her chest. A warm weight on Kara’s arms, and as much as she wants to get her real Lena back, she also isn’t too eager on giving up this version anytime soon. Then again, Kara thinks, it would be impossible for her to give up any version of Lena Luthor.
“Spell? Charm? Anything? Do you need to make a potion? Are we gonna get to make a potion? Oh, oh do you need a wand? Do you have a wa-”
Kara’s words get muffled as two black paws press against her lips. Lena’s green eyes narrowing at her. She meows at Kara. Loudly.
“Mkay, mkay. Shut up. Got it.”
Lena removes her paws, and Kara makes a gesture of zipping her lips together. This seems to appease Lena enough because the next second, a pink tongue darts out and she...licks Kara's nose.
“Did you- did you just lick me?” Kara gasps out.
Lena doesn’t even acknowledge her with a meow, just turns away and jumps out of her arms again. Before Kara can do anything about it though, her phone rings.
The screen lighting up with Andrea’s name.
“Danvers, I’ve got a story for you.”
******
“Alex, please, I’ll be quick. I promise. I’ll only be three hours at the most. Please just look after her,” she pleads, pouting and puppy eyes in full power.
It also helps that the cat burrito in her cape looks to be cooperating. Lena The Cat staring at Alex with wide round eyes.
Apparently, some governor was found dead downtown, and now Andrea wants her on the scene. She can’t just leave Lena all alone in The Tower. No matter how hard Lena’s been protesting, this is brand new territory for both of them. Nobody knows the extent of Lena’s powers.
Point is, Kara would feel a lot better if she were to leave Lena under the care of someone she trusts. Even if said someone, accuses Lena of being a stray with fleas. It's still better than leaving Lena all on her own.
“Ugh.” Alex groans and Kara knows she’s won. “If this cat causes trouble I will throw it out the window, Kara.”
“No!” Kara yells, distressed. “Don’t do that. She’ll behave. She promises.”
She puts her hand under Lena’s arms and raises her up to eye level—Simba style. “You promise to be good for Alex, don’t you?”
All she gets is a lot of squirming and screaming, there were also a lot of attempts at scratching Kara’s nose.
“See?” Kara says, chuckling nervously. “She’s telling you she’s good.”
Alex looks skeptical, her arms crossed against her chest.
Kara sets her down on the couch, and crouches down low.
She tries to pet her head, but Lena bites at her finger, she catches her teeth on the skin of her supersuit’s thumb slot. She bites deeper, her teeth accomplishing nothing but a few dents.
And oh, Rao she thinks she’s such a feral little cat but her pink adorable gummy snarl says otherwise.
“I’m sorry, I’ll be back. I promise,” she whispers, careful not to let Alex hear. “And then we’ll figure it out later, okay? The safest place for you right now is to be with Alex.”
She really doesn’t want to go, and based on Lena’s protests she doesn’t want Kara to go either. But well, Andrea had finally threatened to fire her if she disobeyed...which is...fair.
She’s aware she’s been doing a less than stellar job at being a journalist lately. Rao, what an understatement. This is basically her make it or break it.
“Look, I’ll be quick, promise. Be good to Alex,” Kara murmurs. She presses a kiss on Lena’s furry forehead. Lena finally unclenches her jaw and lets Kara go. The little whine she lets out, letting Kara know that she knows the battle’s lost.
“Both of you, be good,” Kara tells them sternly. “Alex, please don’t yeet my cat out of the window.”
Alex shrugs, staring at the cat with suspicion. “I make no promises.’
Lena is staring at Alex just as hostile. Great. They both deserve each other.
Kara sighs exasperatedly. Well, at least she tried.
******
She gets a very angry Alex Danvers on the line, right after she’s finished talking to some sources. It’s nighttime now, and when she checks her watch—yep, she’s left Lena in Alex’s care for more than six hours.
Crap.
“Hey, Al—”
“KARA IF YOU DON’T PICK UP THIS THIS THIS GODDAMNED HAIRBALL RIGHT NOW, YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT EVER AGAIN.”
There is loud meowing, and then, “What the- Get off! Get off me right no-”
The line clicks dead.
Kara Danvers quickly changes into an alley, manages to break the sound barrier.
******
It’s Kelly who opens the door.
“Hey, Kara,” she greets her. Kara is impatiently rocking on her heels, trying to peer past Kelly’s shoulders.
The place was quiet; ridiculously quiet, and Kara feels fear swoop in her belly.
“Please, tell me my cat is still alive,” Kara bursts out, Kelly just gives her a pained smile and oh, no, oh no.
She muscles her way past Kelly to a brooding Alex on the couch.
Lena is nowhere to be seen.
“Alex, Alex where’s my cat? Where is she? Where did you put her?”
Alex finally looks up at her, Kara taking notice of the red marks on her arm.
Oh no, Lena, what did you do?
“Calm down, I didn’t throw the little demon away. She’s-" Alex sing-songs before finishing, "on time-out.”
“Time-out?” Kara asks, voice shaking. Rao, does she really want to know.
Alex takes too long to answer, taking a swig of her beer first before pointing to a corner in the living room.
And there, she spots it.
It, being a small pile of laundry on the floor, next to an upside down hamper. A big white hamper housing one Lena Luthor. There's a crude cardboard sign stuck on it; "Kitty Jail". Alex has also stacked a few encyclopedia on top of it, no doubt an attempt to keep Lena from escaping.
“Oh! Oh, Lena!”
Kara superspeeds her way and scoops Lena up, the cat meowing immediately and curling into Kara’s chest.
“You named the cat after Lena?!”
Crap.
Kara turns around slowly, “Uhm yeah?”
Alex just shakes her head. “Unbelievable.”
“Her eyes reminded me of Lena, okay?!” Kara yells defensively, pressing tiny kisses onto Lena’s fur.
“I’m sorry that Alex has been such a meanie to you," she coos, "I know you didn’t deserve it, baby."
Alex seems to perk up at that, because she raises up from the couch. “That,” Alex jabs a finger in their direction, Kara cradles Lena protectively, “That baby ruined my couch and she so totally deserves all the mean! All the mean in the world, Kara!”
Lena hisses in her arms.
“No, no. That’s not true. Lena is baby and she’s perfect and you’re just a meanie.”
“She ruined my upholstery! She left hair all over the place and that’s not even to mention the scratching!”
“Because you were mean to her!”
Alex scoffs, eyes bulging wide in disbelief.
“Get out,” Alex says, her brows pinching comically, “Get out of my apartment before that little devil causes more damage.”
“Gladly,” Kara says, and Lena meows her assent. They make their way past Alex, Kara unaware that Lena has stuck out her little tongue at Alex over her shoulder.
“And she’s not a little devil!” Kara calls out.
Alex slams the door in her face.
******
That evening, Kara pores over a thick spellbook, eyes swimming with Latin symbols with a purring machine on her lap.
By midnight, Kara has managed to pass out on her couch, a black cat curled on her chest.
The spellbook lay open on her coffee table, forgotten.
******
The first sight that greets Kara when she wakes up are green eyes.
Green human eyes.
And then it hits her.
“Lena!”
The spell had blessedly wore off by morning, and Kara’s never been more glad to see the sunlight lighting up Lena’s face.
For a moment, Kara’s assaulted with the mental image of laying in a pool of sunlight with a black cat stretching leisurely next to her.
“Good morning,” Lena purrs, and oh Rao, that sound is much, much better than her meowing.
“You’re back!” Kara gasps in awe.
“I’m back,” she whispers, she’s still draped fully over Kara on the couch. A blanket covering them both.
“Rao, I missed you.” A palm comes up to cup her cheeks, Lena automatically nuzzling into the inside of her wrist.
“Mm, I missed me, too,” Lena tells her, face breaking into a small smile. Kara traces her fingers up and down Lena’s spine. Oh, how she’s missed touching Lena’s skin.
Wait-
Skin.
Is she-
“Lena,” Kara begins, swallowing. Her nerves not going unnoticed.
Lena raises a brow at her. “Kara?”
“Are you- uhm- ah. Are you naked right now?”
Lena’s eyes light up like a cat’s and Kara knows she’s in trouble.
“Mm. It seems that I am,” Lena says, and all Kara can do is gulp.
“What are you gonna do about it?”
special shoutout to @mike-wachowski, @sexybread-png and @thebreakfastgod for their cat expertise without whom this silly little fic would not be written.

Red Bottom: Red Kryptonite D/S Supercorp Story (Complete)
Prompt Fill for Gabs: Redk!Kara wanting it fast and hard and lena fucking her gently until she's in tears? With lots of praise kink pls
*OR*
Under the effects of Red Kryptonite, Kara has to be kept somewhere secure. The L-Corp Laboratory is about the only location with enough lead lining to hide her heat signature while the DEO worries about bigger threats. Kara’s frustrated arousal and darkened mood is nothing compared to her girlfriend, Lena Luthor’s.
There’s a dark and evil side lurking inside Lena too. Always there, always out of sight. With Kara under the influence of the Red Kryptonite, Lena finds herself indulging in her own primal dark side in order to quell Kara’s own.
“Again?” Lena’s eyes fly wide open at the DEO circus.
“The red kryptonite particles went up with the explosion last week,” Alex says, overseeing the transfer of her sedated sister to the secure L-Corp laboratory. “And what goes up must come down. Jesus, I can’t believe we didn’t account for the rain.”
“Wouldn’t she be safer at DEO headquarters? It’s just, her safety should be the priority.” Lena doesn’t want to seem too eager to palm off her girlfriend.
“If the DEO headquarters were still secret, sure.” Alex rubs her temple, now suddenly thinking of other problems.
Her hazel eyes find Lena with a sense of exhaustion, as though there are too many things being juggled in the air and she needs someone to take Kara out of the equation.
Alex continues, “The League caught intel about our security protocols. Ironically, the one place Lex will probably not look is the place right beneath his nose. The building has enough lead-lining to hide her heat signature?”
“More than enough,” Lena confirms.
“Well,” Alex pats the chief executive’s shoulder. “I’ll call you tonight, and I’ll leave her in your capable hands for a few days.”
Lena laughs suddenly, the uncomfortable noise barely escaping through her tight teeth. “Please don’t.” She eyes Alex cautiously. “Just maybe let’s workshop this idea—”
“It will be fine,” Alex promises. “Just don’t listen to her, put your headphones in, think of it as babysitting duty. I’ll owe you one, big time.” Alex stares as though she means it regardless of the complications it might cause later down the line.
An unconditional favour from one of the higher-ups in the chain of command at the Department of Extranormal Operations… That could certainly come in handy one day.
“Not the holding cell. Put her in the observation suite, the glass is resistant to her heat vision.” Lena points to the clear glass room opposite the laboratory. “Extra restraints, green kryptonite lamps—”
“Green kryptonite could kill her,” Alex balks.
“In larger quantities, sure.” Lena nods. “In a smaller, medicinal dosage it nullifies her power for a short time. Like the small amount emitted by the kryptonite lamps your tech team developed last year in the event of…” Lena pauses, quirking her crimson lips as she searches for the right word. “Something unexpected.” Alex instantly closes her eyes. “Bring them, bring all of the equipment. And extra restraints too, please.”
“Why extra restraints?” Alex lifts her brow, confused.
Lena rolls her eyes, then turns to her personal assistant. “Jesse, clear my entire schedule from now until Tuesday. Alex, trust me, I’m doing you a favour, but I need the restraints and the kryptonite lamps. For my safety, you understand?” She glances at her girlfriend’s sister.
“Whatever you need, Lena.” Alex doesn’t ask further.
***
Kara awakes slowly and feels the tension in her arms. They’re captured around her ribcage, as though she is trapped in a suffocating hug. She shifts her shoulders, wiggling, unable to get herself loose from the poor, rough excuse for a blanket that has entwined her.
“You’ll forgive me for being cautious,” Lena says through the speaker. “It’s for your safety, mostly.”
Kara opens her eyes and simultaneously rolls them when she sees the applied restraints. Her arms are secured in a white strait-jacket, the tan leather straps buckled tightly, with another strap of leather secured between her nude legs to stop her wiggling out of it.
“For my safety or yours?” Kara flexes against the strait-jacket.
“Alright,” Lena levels seriously over the speaker. “For mine then.”
The strait-jacket isn’t torn to pieces when Kara flexes a second time, which strikes her as strange. She wiggles again, harder, flexing, stretching her arms as far as she can against the secured sleeves.
“Sorry baby,” Lena says, walking in to view as she stops in front of the glass door that separates them. “Another precaution. I can survive your bad mood, but only when we level the playing field.” Her emerald eyes glance to the industrial spotlights that emanate a low, dark green colour over the observation suite.
Green Kryptonite.
“If you think there’s such a big bad monster lurking inside of me—” Kara stops, heaving furious breaths. “Why risk it the other three-hundred and sixty-four days a year? Am I not capable of tearing you apart then, if I wanted to?”
“There is always a monster lurking inside of you, baby.” Lena folds her arms over her black cashmere sweater. “But you are the strongest, most level-headed woman I know. You would never let it hurt anyone.” Her eyes flicker with love. “The other days of the year, of course.” She pushes a small smile, but then it disappears as she dips her head.
Kara narrows her eyes. “Oh, you want to talk about monsters, Lena?” She can’t help but laugh.
“Not particularly.”
“Because you know the one that claws inside of your ribcage is so much more violent and hungry than mine.”
“Don’t do this, please,” Lena pleads. “I know you can’t help it, but could you… try and help it?”
“Sad, poor, angry little girl—lost and unlovable,” Kara scoffs, her lips forming an angry smirk. “How does it feel knowing that I am the only one capable of loving a creature as tortured as you?”
Lena’s mouth twitches almost imperceptibly.
Her face is beautiful and smooth like porcelain, but her eyes are utterly empty and her jaw flexes with the tiniest slip of anger. To Kara, she is still beautiful, still the finest human she has ever met, a bride to be made fit for House of El yet.
It’s simply a case of subjugating her first, Kara thinks. To teach Lena who exactly her better half is, metaphorically and literally speaking.
“You’re still pretty when you want to cry,” Kara says coldly, unbothered and unconcerned. “You should know that.”
“Funny,” Lena doesn’t skip a beat, her tone equally cold. “I’ve always thought the same of you.”
There’s a flash, a tiny strike of lightning. It hits Kara right in her belly and sends her flying backwards. The pain is the least of her concerns. She doesn’t understand what it was. Kara pants and opens her eyes, curled in the corner of the glass cage with a tight grimace.
“For my safety,” Lena explains, lifting the remote that controls the shock pulses. “In case I feel threatened.” She smirks slightly.
“You always feel threatened,” Kara laughs despite the painful ripples in her body from the electric shock. “Always threatened by other powerful women, always worried you’re too small, too unimportant, too weak to compete—”
“Whoops.” The powerful shock hits Kara again and makes her whimper. It leaves her crumpled and curling, sweating and gritting her teeth. “My finger slipped,” Lena says, unamused.
Despite the red kryptonite, despite the hubris it imbues her with, she is completely defenseless and that only compounds her anger. Kara wrangles as hard as she can, until she nearly dislocates her shoulder trying to get free from the pathetic little strait-jacket that on any ordinary day could be ripped apart with a sneeze.
The door alarm rings out. Lena steps inside the lion’s den, her Blahnik heels clicking quickly over the cold hard floor. Kara refuses to look at her, she tucks her sweaty head away as the pencil skirt gracefully bends at the knees to appraise her closer, as though she is some kind of small animal.
“See,” Lena whispers quietly, moving the damp blonde hair off her face. “Still so pretty when you want to cry, baby, I told you.”
“Don’t start a war you cannot win, Lena,” Kara growls with gravel in her throat. “I will still have my power and might when the weekend is out, and you—”
“Will still have mine, too.” Lena slips her hand over Kara’s bottom, pulling the curled up little monster close like a pet to be made tame. “Why don’t you be a good girl and let that nasty tongue of yours rest. I don’t want to sedate you. There is so much more productive fun to be had when you’re awake.”
Kara’s ears lift at that.
“Fun?” She looks at Lena with a craned eyebrow.
Lena looks different. Kara isn’t sure whether it’s the effect of the red kryptonite, or whether her girlfriend has always had that air of cruel arrogance and she’s only just noticing it now. But Lena’s eyes glean her as though she’s a wolfish little whore, a thing to conquer. Her crimson lips pull into a small smirk.
“Fun for me, yes.” Lena pets her damp, long blonde hair softly. “The way I see it, Kara Danvers, is that I’m going to marry you one day. That means for better or worse. And, if I can’t find a way to handle you at your worst—” Kara hisses when slender fingers yank her hair tight in a tight fistful. “Then what business do I have enjoying you at your best?” Their eyes lock seriously.
“You think this is me at my worst?” Kara’s eyes grow wide with indignation. “Oh just you wait. The Hell I will reign down upon you—” Material is quickly stuffed inside her open mouth as gag, stifling the threats.
The material is slightly damp, heady almost, the feminine taste that is so distinctly Lena Luthor coats Kara’s tongue… Kara realises that this isn’t a traditional gag.
“Hold my panties for me like a good girl,” Lena whispers and stuffs them a little deeper into her mouth. “Don’t spit them out, otherwise I’m going to push them in another hole. And believe me, I have such better, bigger plans for your pretty tight holes…” Her manicured fingers slipped over the tanned leather strap between Kara’s sweating thighs.
When Kara’s blue eyes fly open in surprise, the question doesn’t even need to be uttered. Lena can practically read her mind. The executive peers down at her with a loving smile, her palms gently taking each side of her face and cradling it close to her own.
“The red kryptonite cannot be chemically neutralised. That means I need to find another way to control you when you’re… under the influence of dangerous substances.” Lena trails her hand through Kara’s long hair, her nails dragging and gathering it neatly. “That means I need to condition you to see me as your handler, to prevent my brother ever using the red kryptonite compound as a weapon.”
“My handler?” Kara scoffs through the panties between her teeth, laughing. “You couldn’t handle a guinea pig without help—” The sentence is slapped out of her mouth, hard.
“Your ears work, how reassuring.” Lena remains blank-faced. “Now, come with me, let’s see how reward-motivated you can be, little one.”
The fingers entwined in the back of her scalp tug, pull, coax her to follow on her knees across the glass room towards a desk with a laptop on top of it in the corner. There’s a soft, plush cushion beside the chair. Kara realises too late what exactly her girlfriend has planned.
“No, no.” Lena stops when Kara stops, glancing down at the ravenous little creature digging her feet into the floor. “Wouldn’t you rather feel good, sweetheart?” She swiftly takes the panties out of her mouth.
Kara thinks, too optimistically, that it’s so she can reply clearly.
Instantaneously, Kara feels all of her muscles tighten at once. Something has started vibrating inside of her—quite literally, vibrating inside of her—it’s pressed deep inside of her folds, right behind her clit against that perfect spot that made her cunt feel tight and hot. The panties were removed from her mouth so they weren’t a choking hazard, she realises.
Then, it dwindles away to nothing.
“I am going to hurt you in ways you cannot fathom,” Kara growls furiously at the denial of her pleasure.
“No, you’re not.” Lena cranes down and pecks her temple. “Because I will crush you before you ever get the chance, little girl,” her soft voice becomes a stern tone against the ear, the responsive slither of crimson red kryptonite emanating from Kara’s temple not going unnoticed.
The moment Kara snatches at Lena’s throat with her teeth—she is made to learn the hard way around why it’s a regrettable idea.
A sudden shock of electricity hits her, but not externally, this time it’s deep inside of her cunt, attacking the back of her clit with needle-like precision. It hits her so hard that Kara squeals and releases Lena’s throat before the slightest amount of pressure can be applied with her teeth.
Unlike the earlier electric shock, this one is prolonged and hateful almost. Kara curls on her side and cries, clenching her thighs, yelping like a wounded little animal. Lena stands over her calmly, hands clasped in front of her neat black pencil skirt while her thumb continues to press the remote control.
“Please!” Kara squeals. “Please make it stop!”
“Good girl,” Lena whispers and lifts her thumb off the trigger. “Manners will get you everywhere, sweetheart. I would advise that you don’t ever try to hurt me, otherwise I will have to rectify the situation with some sense of equalism. You understand?”
“Yes,” Kara spits the affirmation between her clenching teeth.
“Yes Ma’am,” Lena insists.
“You have lost your soft little fucking mind if you think—” Kara wails a sharp sob that cuts her off, squirming her thighs together again as a small jolt hits her deep in the back of the cunt.
“When you’re like this, Kara, I don’t see my girlfriend,” Lena says firm. “My sweet, gentle, strong Supergirl... She would never try to hurt me, would never hurt a fly even. But you?” Her tone is suddenly accusatory. “You are not my Kara. You are the monster that lurks beneath the surface, and you will kneel and be made tame or you will be crushed into dust. I’m not your girlfriend, your little human, or your subordinate. I am the only authority in your tiny fucking insular world and you will obey me.” It isn’t posed as a question, simply posited as fact.
“We’ll see about that, Ma’am,” Kara growls sarcastically.
“Good girl,” Lena’s tone is suddenly praising, her eyes narrowing with pleased surprise. “You don’t have to enjoy saying it, baby, you just have to do as you’re told.”
Instinctively, Kara wants to protest and be difficult. But whatever Lena has buried deep inside of her cunt…it begins to strangely swell, filling her, vibrating and pulsing against her slick hot folds in a way that is entirely pleasurable. Kara understands too late what game they’re playing. Lena is operantly conditioning her. A game of punishment and reward.
The corner of Kara’s vision glitters, almost. The red kryptonite heightens everything, her emotions, her mood, her aggression, and apparently her arousal too. The wolfish creature can’t help but gasp, closing her eyes and unable to form coherent words.
“I think that’s enough baby,” Lena whispers softly.
Slowly, the strange new toy inside of her cunt recedes in size and slows its vibrations. It feels like a knot growing smaller, then a love egg, then it’s too small to be descriptively felt any more. Kara can still tell something is inside of her but it’s the smallest, most inoffensive intrusion. There, but not there, like a tiny pill-sized probe of sorts.
Kara glances down to the  leather strap buckled tight over her slit. She had assumed it was there to stop her slipping out of the strait-jacket, but Kara now understood it was also there to keep something buried inside of her.
Kara shifts slowly on the floor, twisting her hips, trying to feel out the sensations in her body that no longer seemed to exist without Lena deciding they should. It makes the chief executive smile this wolfish, chipper grin that looks strange on her usually dour face. Her beaming white teeth are on display with the breadth of her smile.
She looks beautiful, Kara can’t help but notice.
“What-” Kara blinks, completely confused. “What did you put inside of me?”
“A very, very special toy.” Lena gently takes her by the chin, guiding her shying face to meet her authoritative eyes. “I made it especially for you, though the punishment features were certainly a last-minute revision. If you’re a very, very good girl I’ll show you just how nice it feels when I decide that it should.”
“And if I’m not a good girl?” Kara lifts her brow defiantly. “If I don’t want to be your unconsenting little fucking pet slave?”
At that Lena’s eyes widen slightly.
“Baby,” Lena whispers with a knitted brow, her voice slow and loving. “I’m trying to help you here. The green kryptonite—” She nods at the deep green spotlights that cast the room in dark shadows. “I don’t know how much exposure is lethal, but I know that if you ever posed a risk to the general public then the DEO would ask questions later after they had put you down like a feral animal.” The theoretical possibility seems to make Lena tight with worry. “You don’t have to like this. Its non-lethal, it’s for your own good, and my Kara would perfectly understand why it was necessary.”
“Then your Kara is a submissive little whore, and you probably know as much.” Kara glares at the unshakeable human she had underestimated.
Lena tucks a long weft of blonde hair behind Kara’s ear.
“Come along,” Lena instructs, turning on her heels to walk to the desk in the corner of the room. “You can either come willingly or I will give you a damn good reason to regret being so difficult.”
***
To Lena’s surprise, Kara did as she was told. Lena sat down in the chair and opened the laptop, her thumb on the shock button, ready to hit her girlfriend where it hurt once she reached zero on her mental countdown from ten.
But Kara crawls forward as best she can like a wounded little animal, her arms secured by the strait-jacket, her cheek pressed to the floor as she pushes forward indignantly on her knees.
The miracle happened. The pigs flew over the sky. The chickens had come home to roost. Lena felt her smile widen proudly, her fingers slipping around Kara’s neck and tickling the nape.
“Good girl,” Lena hushes, then she slips her hand around Kara’s jaw and brings her cheek to her lap. “There you go, just kneel there and show me you can be good.”
Lena rewards her in tangible, felt ways. The bullet-like toy inside of her cunt was activated with the remote, Lena’s thumb slipping over the control trigger to increase the swell in size, then the vibrations too.
Lena kept it on the minimal settings, flexing her thumb back and forth, giving her girlfriend just enough to coax her submission. She imagined that it probably felt like a pulse inside of her tight slick cunt, a pressure that grew and pressed into the back of her g-spot with delicious accuracy, then receded into nothing.
“Say thank you, princess.” Lena idly traces her fingertips on the panting jaw pressing to her thigh.
“Go fuck yourself you arrogant, precious little cunt.”
Lena just closes her eyes and presses the button.
Tense and tight and squealing, the wolfish little creature slumps to the floor and wrestles against the strait-jackets straps. Lena opens her eyes and peers down at her, guilty, curious, aroused beyond words and not ready to take her thumb off the trigger yet.
“Please!” Kara yelps with tears streaming down her red cheeks. “I’m sorry!”
“You’re sorry, what?” Lena lifts her eyebrow, waiting for the appellation.
“Oh go fuck yourself—” Kara regrets it instantly.
It was thrilling to bring a god to her squealing, tightly curled-up kneels. Lena knows it’s wrong, that it’s villainous in all the ways she holds herself to be morally higher than. But all Kara has to do is be polite, it really isn’t that hard. She increases the electricity until it feels like a thousand tiny needles digging and prodding, Lena has no doubts about it.
“I’m sorry, Ma’am!” Kara sobs. “Please make it stop, I’m sorry!”
“Good girl,” Lena hushes and takes her thumb off the trigger. “There’s a good, good girl.” She pets her long damp hair. “See, it isn’t that hard baby. You just have to do as you’re told, you just have to be a good girl.”
Lena replaces the pain with a flood of pleasure. It takes her girlfriend off her centre of gravity. Kara slumps again, her toes flexing and curling, her belly tightening until she is curling like a little kitten. Lena makes sure to show the submission an abundance of reward, her thumb flies upward on the control trigger and gives Kara a brief taste of how good obedience can truly feel.
The toy swells so big and wide inside of Kara that her weeping baby blues fly open, entire constellations mapped in the whites of her eyes. The vibrations are so powerful that Lena can hear them — thrumming, pulsing, mechanically growling away like a revving engine. She brings Kara down slowly, gently, backing her away from the cliff edge of a quick hard orgasm.
“Please!” Kara whines and brings her cheek back to Lena’s lap, kissing and digging her nose into the top of the chief executive’s thigh. “I’ll be good, I’ll behave, please just let me cum.”
“I think I’ll leave you right here.” Lena settles on a low, gentle vibration setting — enough that Kara can feel it stirring her orgasm, but not enough to push her over the edge. “If you’re still being a good girl by the time I’ve finished my ordinance paperwork, we can revisit things.”
“Please,” Kara whimpers, her voice barely a choking whisper. “Please, please, please—” She buries her face into Lena’s lap.
Lena ignores it and gets on with her tasks. It takes longer than it usually does, she’s more aware of the ticking time. The panting little mouth pressing to her thigh whimpers and moans, but Kara’s face is entirely slack and resting on the leg as though she has no energy to hold it up of her own volition.
“Please Ma’am,” Kara whimpers, “Please, Ma’am, make it feel good.”
Lena says nothing, offers nothing in response, but she pushes the trigger upwards and increases the vibrations and swelling size of the toy, incrementally and almost procedural. Then, she clicks into her emails for a quick update on the minute notes from the meeting she missed.
Ten minutes pass, if that.
“I need to cum,” Kara pants. “Please?”
“No.”
“Please Ma’am!”
“I said no—ow!” Lena glances down to where Kara had nipped her with teeth, hard. “What did I tell you?” Lena asks calmly, her fingers catching the shying chin. “I was fair, I warned you Kara, all you have to do is be a good girl and do as I tell you to.”
“Please no more shocks, I’m sorry—I didn’t, I didn’t mean to!”
“I’m not going to shock you,” Lena says reassuringly, closing the laptop lid. “You want to be fucked? You want to be pleasured? I’m going to show you exactly why you wait for my freely-given permission. You think this is degrading? Oh baby, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
***
Kara cries so hard it makes the veins in her throat bulge and stick out. Her legs thrash and kick, her arms wrangling desperately against the tight, taut sleeves of the jacket. Externally, it looked as though she might be in the worst pain one woman could possibly experience. Lena almost felt guilty. But, Kara wasn’t in pain.
She was in terminal pleasure.
“Spread your legs,” Lena only has to whisper the instruction.
Kara does as she’s told instantly, as best she can, opening her shaking legs as far and wide as she possibly can. Her cunt is pink and swollen against the wet leather strap, bucking desperately for an orgasm she isn’t permitted to have.
Whenever she gets too close, Lena dials the toy down—or gives her a tiny shock—depending on whichever is necessary to keep her an obedient and well-behaved girl.
“What a pretty girl,” Lena croons, brow furrowing deeply as she leaned against her chair and crossed her leg. “Tell me again, what are the rules baby?”
“I do as I’m told,” Kara pants. “That’s all I have to do, exactly as I’m told to do.”
“You’re such a good, obedient little girl.” Lena dials up her vibrations almost imperceptibly. “I wanted to break you in gently, Kara, but if you need to be brought under the thumb with ruthless efficiency then that works for me too. Come, hump my foot like a good pet.”
The red kryptonite glows and ebbs under her skin, everywhere, pulsing, from her temples to her toes, the slithers of red slip and glide beneath her skin and then reappear a moment later somewhere else. Lena surmises that her body, her primal aggression, it’s fighting her from the inside out and telling her this is wrong.
Kara ignores it and does as she’s told.
“What a good girl!” Lena cranes down and kisses her temple as the slick leather strap begins to work the top of her bare foot. “What do good girls get, Kara?”
“Rewards, Ma’am,” Kara whimpers.
“And what does the good girl want?”
“For you to fuck me hard, Ma’am,” Kara breaks into a sob and grinds her hips harder. “Please, please, it’s too gentle.” She dissolves into hiccuping tears.
“You’re sure you want a big hard orgasm?” Lena furrows her brow, as though she doesn’t understand. “Wouldn’t you rather a nice, soft, gentle little orgasm that just takes you over the edge—”
“Please let me cum hard,” Kara squeals, her face dipped down and cradled between her handler’s thighs. “Please, Ma’am! I’ll be a good girl, I promise!”
“No baby,” Lena says calmly. “Just a tiny soft orgasm tonight. If you are good, I’ll let you have a big one tomorrow.”
“Ma’am please!” Kara yelps as though agonised, her fingers digging tight into Lena’s kneecaps. “Please, please—”
It’s important that Kara learns the size and depth of a reward is Lena’s to call. She won’t get her own way all of the time, that’s Lena’s rationale with denying her. Lena dials down the vibrations incrementally, then makes the swell of the toy just a little bit smaller. Responsively, Kara sobs and bucks harder as she loses the pressure on her g-spot.
“The more you push the more pressure I’m going to take away,” Lena is stern because she feels that she has to be. “Are we going to be a good girl or a ruined girl?”
“Good girl,” Kara whimpers and bucks. “Can I cum, please? I’ll be a good girl, I’ll be obedient.”
“Chase it. I’ll cut you off when you’ve had enough baby, don’t you worry.” Lena cruelly smiles.
Kara bucks and grows silent for a moment, her pained expression slackening as the orgasm creeps up gently—nowhere near as forceful as the wolfish little thing desires it to be—but that will come in time, Lena thinks. She cups Kara’s chin and stares down at her, appraising, judging perfectly, grinning when the wild little thing comes undone with a sob and clutches at her leg like a humping little pet.
“There we go,” Lena whispers, turning the toy off suddenly just as Kara hit the peek. “What a very, very good girl. I’m pleased, Kara.” She cranes and pecks her temple, her tear-stained cheek, then her panting lips. “What do we say?”
“Thank you, Ma’am,” Kara stutters.
“Good, good girl.” Lena cradles her cheeks. “Let’s get you comfortable in bed. You’re not going to give me problems, are you?” Lena teases her thumb over the shock trigger.
“No Ma’am!” Kara shakes her head frantically. “No problems!”
“Good girl, that’s what I like to hear.” Lena kisses her more fervently this time.
It was a gamble with her life that paid off, Lena thinks with relief.
The green kryptonite lamps had died hours ago, the room was completely dim and dark save the backlight from the row of monitors opposite the other side of the glass. Unbeknownst to Kara, she had slowly regained her powers, or certainly enough of them to beat Lena in a fight if she so wished. But, she had been such a very good girl.
Lena had no concerns now that her little wolfish pet could be brought to heel.

Lena Luthor as Guardian prompt(supercorp)
“Guardian, didn’t I tell you to get out of here? It’s not safe.” SuperGirl grunted in between strikes as she struggled to take down the big bad of the week.
“And I’m pretty sure I told you, I’m a big girl who makes her own decisions.” Guardian replied, pushing the button that deployed her shield.
“I’ve got this handled.” SuperGirl responded through gritted teeth, before being pushed across the warehouse and landing with a crash.
“If by handled, you actually mean having your ass kicked, I guess you’re quite right.” Guardian quipped as she made her way into the fray, blocking an alien arm with her shield and ducking low to land her own hit.
Through the slit in her mask she watched SuperGirl stand quickly and regain her composure, a quick nod from the blonde confirmed that the pair were now working together, whether SuperGirl liked it or not and Guardian quickly took it upon herself to distract the alien in front of her for long enough for SuperGirl to take it by surprise.
To no one’s surprise, Guardian’s plan worked. It always did.
As a DEO agent loaded the subdued alien into the back of a van, SuperGirl thanked her stiffly.
“Until next time you need my help then, SuperGirl.” Guardian was smirking and she hoped the superhero could hear it in her voice.
“I told you Guardian, I don’t need civilian help. It’s too dangerous.” The blonde’s hands were on her hips and her face was set, her tone stern in an attempt to intimidate.
It just made Guardian smirk wider.
Their conversation was interrupted by a report asking for a photo of the two heroes together, and Guardian laughed at the pout that formed on SuperGirl’s face.
“I’ll let SuperGirl take the credit for this one.” Guardian responded jovially, before quickly locating her motorbike and speeding away.
By the time Lena got home after dropping her gear at the Tower, the shower was already running. She made her way to the bathroom, ready to face her wife head on.
She paused for a moment in the doorway, enjoying the view as Kara washed away a hard day of saving National City.
“Don’t think you can just ogle me, and all will be forgiven.” Kara said after a moment.
Those damn super senses, Lena could never sneak up on her.
“Are you mad?” Lena asked tentatively. She already knew the answer, but hey, a girl’s gotta try.
Kara shut off the shower and stepped out, wrapping a towel around her chest.
“You know damn right I’m mad.” Kara was looking at her now, a look of betrayal that cut right through to Lena’s heart.
“I thought we agreed. No more Guardian.”
“No, you told me no more Guardian and I told you, you’re not the boss of me.” Lena replied indignantly, crossing her arms across her chest.
“Don’t you understand how scary it is for me? Seeing you out there? In the line of danger.” Kara asked, her eyes pleading and her voice wavering with emotion.
“Don’t you know how scary it is for me?” Lena replied, her voice barely a whisper as tears spilled on to her cheeks. But Kara heard her. Kara always heard her.
“Oh baby, come here.” Kara held out her arms, and like a magnet Lena couldn’t resist the pull.
Her head was pillowed on Kara’s chest, their arms wrapped tightly around each other before she spoke again.
“It’s so scary watching you fly off into danger, day after day. I’m always so afraid that today might be the day you don’t come home to me. But when I’m Guardian. When I’m there, in the thick of it with you? I feel like I have some semblance of control over the situation. I feel less afraid.”
“Baby, why didn’t you tell me you were so scared?” Kara’s voice was soft, and her hand hand moved to rub soothing circles over Lena’s back.
“Because I knew if I told you, you would feel guilty for being SuperGirl. I didn’t want to put that on you.” Lena’s tears had dried now, and she felt felt better. Like the dam had broken inside of her, but the pressure had been released and she could breathe again.
“Lena.” Kara held the brunette at arms length and searched her eyes imploringly. “I told you, I always want to know how you feel. Even if you think I won’t like it. I want to know. Always.”
Lena dropped the blondes gaze, the intensity too much for her.
“I’m trying.” She whispered into the still silence of the bathroom.
“I know.” Kara pulled her back into her arms, peppering kisses onto Lena’s forehead.
“So, you’re not mad anymore?” Lena asked gently.
“No, I’m not mad anymore.” Kara laughed as she continued her trail of kisses down Lena’s face.
“Well that’s a shame, because I had thought of some rather fun ways to make it up to you.” Lena teased as she pulled out of Kara’s right hold and made her way toward the bedroom.
“But I guess if you’re not mad, my plans were completely unnecessary.” She smirked at Kara over her shoulder and watched a shiver travel up the blonde’s spine.
“I take it back I’m still mad.” Lena laughed as she heard her wife stumble in her haste to follow her into the bedroom. “Totally still angry, grrrr... you better make it up to me.”
“Very convincing darling. Now take of that towel and get on the bed.”
I hope this is kind of what you were after.

Lily Luthor
(I never write fanfics, nor really read them, so sorry if this idea has been done before. I started writing out of boredom in quarantine and figured I’d share it. So enjoy some Supercorp ❤️)
Kara gasps for breath as her eyes fly wide open, her vision slowly focusing in on the flickering lights on the ceiling above her. She feels the cold ground beneath her, but when she sits up and looks around she can’t quite place where she is. As she scans the room she finds its mostly empty and abandoned with not a soul in sight.
She had chains around her wrists that were bolted to the floor, and just long enough for her to stand up and move around a little. They were lined in Kryptonite, so there was no point in trying to break free. The lights abruptly cut off before coming back on a moment later, Lex appearing a few feet away from her.
She can already feel the rage taking over. Had he drugged her? Knocked her out? She couldn’t recall how she got there. All she knew is that she wanted to freeze breath him until he slipped into a hypothermic coma. She was still groggy so Lex kicked things off.
“Supergirl, fancy meeting you here.” He said with his signature, smug smirk.
“What do you want?” Kara spit out through clenched teeth.
“Actually, I think I have something you may want.” His tone was a bit less playful this time, business-like almost.
“What could I possibly want from you?”
“Information.”
There was a brief pause and she looked at him inquisitively, not exactly sure what game he was trying to play.
“I don’t trust any information that comes from a Luthor.” She stated sharp and firmly.
“Even if it’s Lena?” He questioned, knowing it would absolutely strike a nerve. He saw the fire practically light up in her eyes at the mere mention of her name.
“Don’t you dare bring her into this.” Kara warned, her glare becoming unnerving even to Lex.
“Have I struck a nerve, Supergirl? She is my sister after all. It’s my job to protect her. Especially from Kryptonians like you.” His remark caused her cheeks to display a bright shade of pink, he assumed it was the rage showing itself.
“You lost the right to call her your sister the moment you decided to hurt and manipulate her. She has a family now, and it’s not the Luthors. So don’t you dare talk to me about keeping my Lena safe. I’d die for her, and we both know it, don’t we?” She had stepped closer to him during her furious rant, she was practically yelling in his face. It only infuriated her more that he seemed somewhat amused by it.
“I know you would. It’s sad really..that you’d give up everything for her while she’s still lying to you. Unrequited love is truly one of life’s greatest travesties isn’t it?” He said, obviously amused with himself.
“I’m not that naive, Lex. If anyone is lying, it’s you to yourself. She killed you for me, remember? You don’t know anything about us, she loves me with her entire heart.” Lex was annoyed by the arrogance of her statement, she was going to be harder to manipulate than he anticipated. He hoped that after all the lying and fighting they did, that she’d still be really skeptical and on edge when it came to Lena. But on the contrary, she had more faith in her than ever. He should’ve known Kara would dive straight back into her blind and unwavering love for Lena, she could never help herself. He just didn’t expect her to be completely and totally wrapped back around her finger already.
“She may have killed me for you, but that was before she knew you betrayed her. She never stopped working with me. She’s been lying to you all this time, and really it wasn’t hard. I mean how long did it take for you to forgive her after all that she did to you, like one day? You make it way too easy, Kara.” He let out a haunting chuckle, and she was equally as annoyed as she was irritated now.
“I don’t believe you.” Was all she cared to say, she didn’t have to explain her reasons to a psychopath.
However, he already knew why. He had held this card for a long time but he was about to play it, she needed to be thrown off her game. “Of course you don’t. Why would you want to believe the woman you’re in love with is deceiving you?”
Kara just froze, not even knowing how to react to what he just said. “I..I..what? I’m not in love with her. She’s my best friend.” She tried not to seem shocked, but the stuttering and the bewildered look on her face betrayed her.
“Is that what you tell yourself? Red Daughter read your diaries and she seemed to think otherwise. In fact, Red Daughter was weirdly obsessed with Lena. I didn’t quite understand it at first until I realized she’s just a blank-slated copy of you. And it finally made sense.”
Kara never trusted a word out of this mans mouth, but for some reason she could tell he was telling the truth on this one.
“I’m not gonna argue with you, Lex. You’d say anything to divide us and I won’t let that happen. So you might as well let me go.” She huffed out, just bored of his antics at this point.
“Fine. I didn’t want to have to do this, but I guess you leave me no choice.” He paused for dramatic effect before continuing, he always liked to put on a show. “Lily, come on out.” He called out. A very strikingly beautiful girl walked into sight, she looked like a teenager.
Kara looked at the girl and immediatley sensed something familiar about her. It wasn’t until she locked eyes with her that she started to peice some things together and she just wanted to burst into tears, but she tried to keep her composure as much as possible. Although she knew the look on her face had to be giving her shock and confusion away. When she looked into this girls eyes she just froze dead in her tracks, the same way she did when she first locked eyes with Lena that day at L-Corp all those years ago.
Lily had Lena’s eyes, there was absolutely no doubting that. Kara had stared just a little too deeply into Lena’s eyes just a little too often to not see it. They were big, bright, and round, but more distinctly she had one eye that was green and one that was more blue. She couldn’t even find the words to say to Lex. She wasn’t even sure exactly what this situation was, but what she knew without a doubt was that this girl was a Luthor.
“Who...who is this? Do you have a daughter? Or another sister I didn’t know about?” Kara questioned, a puzzled look still on her face.
“No, no. I don’t have a daughter. But you do now.” He motioned to Lily with his eyes and Kara’s mind was racing so fast she was pretty sure she almost passed out from forgetting to breathe. The echo of Lex’s thunderous tone bounced off the walls and back to Kara, but the word daughter would’ve still been ringing in her ears anyways, though. She was flooded with a myriad of emotions that she couldn’t seem distinguish from each other.
“Lex, what the hell are you talking about? What did you do?” Her tone was demanding but her face was pleading for answers.
“I did what I needed to do. I needed an enemy that even the girl of steel couldn’t defeat. You have two weaknesses in this world, Kara, your family and Lena. So I figured..why not combine the two? So I stole a DNA sample from you and Lena both and voila..the first lab grown baby was made.”
She tried so hard to push the tears back but some of them surfaced anyways. She was trying really hard not to look at Lily, it only made it worse. She wanted to scream at him. She wanted to tell him that he had no right to violate their privacy and steal DNA. That he had no right to have a child for them. As much as she daydreamed every single day that Lena would marry her someday and have adorable half kryptonian babies with her..she wanted Lena to choose to do that with her. She felt like she had been stripped of any ounce of free will she had.
“I don’t know if you’ve noticed Lex but that is no baby. This doesn’t make any sense.” Kara said trying to make any sense out of this situation at all but failing.
“Well a baby wouldn’t be of much use to me. I may have stolen some tech during my brief visit to the waveraider during the last crisis, so I was able to go to the future and get Lily once she turned 16. But don’t worry, baby Lily is still safe in the lab. For now.” His haunting revelation sent chills up Kara’s spine. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She already dreaded the fact that she had to find a way to tell Lena all of this.
“Lex, I swear to god if you’re telling the truth and you hurt our baby..I will show you no mercy.” Kara growled menacingly. She looked at Lily again, more tears threatening to spill. It blew her mind that the girl standing before her was half herself, and half the woman she’d been in love with for years now. She’d always viewed Lena as such a pure soul despite the darkness she’d experienced all her life, so the thought of something happening to the girl that shared half of her DNA..it made Kara’s blood boil.
“Well, Lily was alive and well with her siblings when I went to the future. That means if you do everything I say, she’ll be perfectly fine.” He threatened, his tone was sadistic in nature. Kara was stunned when she heard the word ‘siblings’ but she honestly didn’t want to know anything more, this was all too much already.
“Lily, why are you working with him?” She questioned, looking at the girl with pleading eyes. The girl, however, stayed stone faced.
“Don’t bother, Kara. Sweet Lily here only does what I tell her she can do. Q Waves are a very wonderful thing.” The words spilled happily from his mouth, this is the exact exasperated reaction he’d hoped to get from the Kryptonian.
He took a few more jabs at the girl of steel just for fun before finally letting her go, of course not releasing her until he was somewhere out of sight and safe. Coward, was the only word Kara was thinking. He may have let her go, but it was on one condition: she goes to tell Lena the information she just learned. The thought of the conversation had Kara in tears already. There were so many thoughts swirling through her head that she could barley fly back to the DEO without running into a few buildings. Nothing about this was right. What if Lena was upset they had a baby together because she didn’t love her back? Knowing that this meant the world to her, but could possibly mean nothing to Lena terrified her. She obviously wanted kids under extremely different circumstances...but once again she couldn’t not love anything with Lena’s DNA in it.
She landed on the DEO balcony and just stood there frozen for a moment. Alex and Lena, who were conversing nearby, noticed Kara standing out there in deep thought. She looked conflicted and upset. They both stopped their conversation to walk over to her worriedly. Kara looked up and locked eyes with Lena as they made their way over, and Lena noticed her eyes started to water more. Seeing Lily’s eyes only moments before, and seeing the way they paralleled with Lena’s, made her feel like she was going to break down before she even got to start.
“Kara, what’s wrong?” Alex queried with her signature sisterly concern. “I, um..Can I get a moment alone with Lena?” Kara fidgeted nervously, she looked like she was ready to crawl out of her own skin. Now Lena was even more concerned than before. “Yeah. Of course.” Alex was just more worried now than she was, but she’d just have to wait for an explanation.
“Kara, you’re worrying me. You look like you’ve just seen a ghost.” Lena took a step closer to her, it always made Kara feel weak in the knee’s when Lena got that serious look on her face, or just got anywhere in her personal space at all. It took her a solid few months of friendship to learn to form a coherent sentence with Lena that close to her.
“Not a ghost...your brother. He..Lena he went to the future.” Kara’s anxiety was spiking by the second.
“To the future? What could he possibly want there?” The inquisitive look on Lena’s face started to contort into pure concern, especially because Kara looked like she might faint once the words finally left her mouth.
“Kara, what did Lex take from the future?” Lena pressed harder, her unease taking over her normally stoic exterior.
“Our daughter.” Kara finally spit out, she almost dropped from relief until she saw the puzzled look occupying Lena’s face.
“What? We don’t have a daughter?” Lena was trying to make sense of this in any way she could, she was being flooded with a lot of the same emotions Kara was now.
“Not yet.” Kara gulped and studied Lena’s face, trying to figure out what she was thinking, but to no avail. Her face was too many things at once to pinpoint.
“We..if we have a daughter does that mean we...?” Lena motioned between the two of them before she trailed off, but it still sounded like a question she expected Kara to answer. Kara wishes she didn’t know exactly what she was talking about. But she did. She was being confronted with the thing that terrified her more than anything else in the world: admitting her feelings to Lena. Maybe she could beat around the bush and avoid it, but she knew that at some point during this situation it would come out, even if it wasn’t right at this moment. She had a decision to make. It didn’t help that Lena was staring at her with those eyes that made her absolutely melt.
“Um, I..uh..I don’t know. He used our DNA to make her in a lab. But he did mention Lily had other siblings in the future.” A soft smile dared to surface on Kara’s lips at the thought of raising a family with Lena.
“Lily?” Lena asked, a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth too. She knew she should probably be freaking out at the whole lab baby revelation, but all she could think about was how cute a baby that was half Kara had to be. She was also smiling at the fact that she’d always wanted to name her first born Lily. She was glad to know her future self got to do that, even if it wasn’t in the most conventional way. It made Kara give a real, big smile this time. “Yeah. She’s beautiful, Lena. She looks just like you.” Kara grinned with a softness that gave Lena way too many butterflies.
“Really?” Lena questioned with a slight blush.
“Mhm. I don’t know where she got the auburn hair, but she has your eyes. I knew she was related to you before Lex ever even opened his mouth. I could recognize those eyes anywhere.” Kara heard Lena’s breath hitch and her heart rate increase. That tended to happen when Kara complimented her.
“Is she as sweet as you are?” Lena flirtingly grinned at her, grinning even bigger when she saw Kara blushing.
“I would hope so. But I didn’t get to talk to her. Lex is controlling her using Q waves, so she just stood there silently.”
“So he’s turned our daughter into his personal robot? Why?”
“Because he wants to take me down. That’s why he went to the future and got her once she turned 16. He wants to use her as a weapon, and he knows that the second I look into her eyes.. I won’t be able to fight her.” Kara’s admission made Lena want to melt into a puddle of emotions.
“I know you don’t want to hurt your own blood Kara, but we have to be prepared for the fact that he will make her hurt you.” Lena’s tone was soft and sympathetic.
“It’s not that, Lena. I...Can I admit something to you? So you can understand why I’m so worried?”
“Of course.” The intensity of her gaze made Kara’s entire body feel like it was on fire.
“Several months ago when we were still fighting, I got another visit from Mxyzptlk..he told me he could send me back in time to try telling you my secret earlier, to fix things. But it seemed like no matter when I told you, things always went wrong. So I thought maybe you’d be better off if you had just never met me. But when I went to that timeline.. you were a dictator. You’re family had kidnapped and tortured you and you went down a really dark path. You had a Kryptonite heart and you were blasting me with it. But I...I just took it. The second I looked into your eyes..I couldn’t make myself fight you. Even though it wasn’t the real you I just couldn’t do it. I would’ve died if Mxy hadn’t of gotten me out of there in time.” Admitting this made Kara want to fall over and die in this timeline too, but she needed Lena to understand why she was so worried. Because no matter how much she didn’t want to embarrass herself in front of her crush, they were in this together. Lena was the only one that truly understood the weight of this situation.
Lena just stood there stunned. “Wow..I-I don’t know what to say. I think I’m flattered?”
“You should be, I wouldn’t have done that for anyone else.” A blush was rising in both of their cheeks now. Lena tried to hide it by changing the subject back, but the smile on her face spoke volumes
“So if he got her from the future then where is baby Lily?” Lena always enjoyed flirting with Kara, but right now her worry for her daughter was plaguing her mind.
“He said he has her in his lab.”
“What? We have to go get her! We might not be able to take down teenage Lily right now, but we cannot let Lex near our baby.” Lena was slightly panicked now that she realized Lex had baby Lily too.
Lena was taken back by the grin on Kara’s face, so she spoke up again. “Kara, he has our baby, how are you not panicking right now?”
“Sorry, I am. I just.. Im not used to hearing that.” She still couldn’t wipe the grin off her face, even as panicked as she was.
“What?”
“Our baby.” Now Kara wasn’t the only one smiling.
“Yeah, it has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?” Lena didn’t understand how she was so excited and so terrified at the same time. She was terrified at the thought of being a mother, because she never had an example of what a good mother looks like. But the thought of having Kara to figure it out with? That made her stomach erupt with butterflies.
“It does. We need to go let the team know what’s going on so we can come up with a plan. And then you and I have a lot to talk about.” Kara’s tone was more serious this time, she was in mission mode now.
They went and gathered the team together and gave them a run down of the situation. Their faces looked just as shocked as Kara and Lena’s did at first. Most of them knew Kara and Lena were in love with each other, but they didn’t expect their first child to happen this way.
“Brainy?” Lena asked as they were all gathered around the table brainstorming.
“Yes Ms. Luthor?”
“Did you know?” Lena’s tone wasn’t accusing, just genuinely curious.
“I was aware that in the future L-Corp created the technology to create offspring from two female organisms, however I was not aware that Lex was responsible for Lily’s conception. I was not entirely sure how she was conceived until now, actually. I was afraid to ask.” Brainy wished so badly he could comfort them by telling them the truth about the future. That they end up having the cutest wedding he’d ever witnessed, and had 3 beautiful daughters together. Kara had insisted they all take on the Luthor name, to show how proud she was to help her rebrand it as a source of good. To show her how proud she was to be with her. They were the true definition of happily ever after.
“He..he’s not responsible for the others right?” Kara was embarrassed to even ask for a multitude of reasons, but she had to know.
“Wait, others?” A confused look was evident on Alex’s face.
“You don’t have to worry, Ms. Danvers. Lucian and Lexa Luthor were entirely your own doing.” Brainy’s answer cleared up Alex’s question while also raising about 50 more.
“I have about a million questions and as much as I want to unpack this, we need to start moving within the hour. I’ll be damned if I let Lex hurt my neice.” Lena and Kara recognized Alex’s protectiveness, they’d seen it with Ruby many times before. It made Lena so happy to know that Alex would be an amazing enough aunt to Lily to make up for the fact that her uncle was insane.
They all came up with a game plan and we’re getting ready to move soon. At this point Kara was just a bundle of nerves. Lena noticed, so she went and got a peice of tech she’d been working on. It only took about 15 minutes of tinkering to code it to what Kara needed specifically.
“Hey Kara, before you go..” Lena pulled the small peice of tech from her pocket and presented it to Kara. “I know you’re worried that you won’t be able to fight her if you have to see her eyes, so I made you this.”
“What is it?”
“It’s called ArkAngel. It’s still in its trial run stage, but it’s normally for parents who want to censor obscenity from their children. It blocks out stressful stimuli from the users vision. I wired it to block out Lily’s eyes. You’ll be able to see her, but from the nose up she’ll be blurry.” Lena explained.
“Wow, thank you. You’re a life saver.” Kara said grabbing it from her.
“I just need you and Lily to make it home safe. I can’t lose you again, Kara. And I can’t lose our daughter before I’ve even gotten the chance to meet her.” Kara could see the emotion swelling up in Lena’s eyes. Lena tried to present herself as cold and stoic, but Kara saw the real her. The Lena that was sensitive and compassionate and loving. Seeing that side of Lena for the first time all those years ago is what changed her small crush into being full on in love with her.
Kara engulfed her in a tight hug. “You won’t lose me, Lena. I will always come home to you. And from now on so will Lily. I swear to you I will protect you both til the very end.”
Lena was so consumed with emotion she didn’t even know what to do with herself other than just cling as tightly to Kara as she could. “You’re still my hero, Kara Danvers, I hope you know that.“ Kara thought her heart was gonna explode. All she wanted to do in that moment was pull away from the hug, grab her face, and kiss her like she’d never been kissed before. But she knew it would leave her dizzy, and the last thing she needed to do before a mission was distract herself. So she settled for a sweet and loving kiss on the forehead. Lena pulled away to give her one last longing glance before she inevitably had to leave.
Kara flew to Lex’s lab and it was much bigger than she expected. She wandered around for what felt like an enternity trying to figure out where Lily might be, but in reality it was only a few minutes. She finally saw a sector of the building that was completely shut off by a big steel door. She knew that’s where she had to be. She walked up to it and saw a keypad that prompted the user for a 5 digit code. She knew it would take forever to try every 5 digit combination imaginable, so she asked for Brainys help over comm’s. He was able to disable it so it didn’t trigger any alarms. However, Kara wasn’t prepared for the fact that Lex had a failsafe. The minute she walked through the door an alarm starting blaring, announcing that Kryptonian DNA had been detected. First Clark had a Luthor protocol at the fortress, and now Lex had a Super protocol at his lab. ‘What is wrong with these guys?’ Was Kara’s first thought. Her second thought was pure panic. She knew she needed to find the baby and get out as quickly as possible. Teenage Lily would surely show up at any minute now.
After walking further down the hall, she heard a baby cry. Bingo! She knew which room she was in now. She went to bust through the door when she was flung back by a whirl of cold breath. Crap, Lily had the same superpowers as she did. “Not so fast, mom.” Lily called out menacingly. Kara had to keep reminding herself that this wasn’t the real Lily, this was all Lex.
“I know he’s controlling you, Lily, but you have to fight it. I don’t know you yet, but if you’re anything like Lena then I know you’re strong. You can beat this.”
The pep talk didn’t help, and Lily started charging at her. Kara had to pretend that she was some random villain to keep herself from breaking down. The fact that she was hurting her own daughter made her want to cry on the spot. But she knew it needed to be done. She finally had her pinned down and was about to knock her out when it happened. Lily smiled at her..and Kara froze. She wishes now that Arkangel had blurred out her entire face. She had Lena’s smile and dimples too. Crap.
In the few moments Kara hesitated, Lily was able to wrestle out from underneath her mothers strong grip to try and attack her one last time. As much as Kara wanted to break down and cry, she thought of her baby sitting in the other room alone and scared, and it gave her a second wind. She gave Lily one last devastating blow, enough to knock her out. It gave her enough time to go grab the baby and get out.
It didn’t fully register that she was holding a baby, her own baby, in her arms until after she was flying towards the DEO and out of harms way. She finally sighed a breath of relief and looked down at her baby for the first time. Even as a baby she looked so much like Lena. Her eyes were teary already. Partly because she just harmed her older daughter, and partly because her baby daughter was now safe and in her arms. Lily had stopped crying and was much calmer now, flying seemed to soothe her. Kara was just in awe.
She landed on the DEO balcony for the second time today, but this time she landed as a mother. She wasn’t sure what to make of that, but she couldn’t wait to see the look on Lena’s face when she saw their daughter for the first time.
Everyone came running up, but they stopped once they reached the door and let Lena have her moment with Kara first. “Kara you’re bleeding, what happened?” Lena said placing a hand on Kara’s cheek and stroking it gently.
“She apparently has your smile and dimples too, is what happened.” She grinned a little before more tears swelled up in her eyes.
“Even as a baby, she’s just as beautiful as her mother.” Kara added and now Lena was teary eyed too. She looked down at the baby in Kara’s arms and was just instantly infatuated. “Wow..” Was all that managed to escape her lips.
Both of their hearts were so full in that moment, it was a feeling neither of them had quite experienced before. While it may not have been the most conventional way to have a child, it still felt like the happiest day of their lives. Everyone was watching from afar, just absolutely swooning at how adorable this was.
“I love her already.” Kara was absolutely beaming now. “And I love you too, Lena Luthor. More than I’d like to admit.”
“Well I think finding out we have children together in the future kind of takes the surprise out of it but.. I love you too, Kara. I’ve been in love with you from the start.”
Kara looked up and locked eyes with her, her gaze was more intense than she’d ever seen it. This was it, she thought, it looked like the woman of her dreams was about to do what she’d been fantasizing about for years now. Lena gently grabbed her face and kissed her, and suddenly it felt like everything was right in the world. Kissing her soulmate made it feel like she was surrounded by magic. Like symphonies were playing and folktales were being written about their love.
The kiss was soft, loving, and sweet. Kara had never been kissed quite like that before. She just melted into it. When Lena pulled away she craved her taste her for just a second longer, but she was quickly snapped back into reality when she heard everyone awe’ing in the doorway. It just made Kara and Lena smile at each other. “Come on over, guys.” They said and everyone ran over to see the baby excitedly.
They spent several hours out buying baby stuff to take back to Lena’s apartment, and before Kara knew it she was agreeing to move in with her. She knew she still had to worry about teenage Lily tomorrow, but for the night she was just soaking up her newfound motherhood with the love of her life, who was now officially her girlfriend. She couldn’t have been happier.
After some long nights and tiring days, they eventually took Lex down and returned Lily safely to the future. Over the next 5 or so years, they added two additions to their family just like Brainy had said. Lexa and Lucian Luthor brought even more joy to their lives than they could’ve imagined. They were insanely, grossly happy. After everything they’d sacrificed and been though and lost, they were finally getting their fairytale ending.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading and I really hope you enjoyed it! Did anyone catch the Black Mirror reference? 😅

With Volume 3 of the Supercorp Zine underway, I figured I should finally get around to sharing my story from Volume 2!
“Home is Where the Mini-Marshmallows are”
Kara Danvers / Lena Luthor
Lena comes home from work to find an intruder in her apartment; a small, furry intruder with eight eyes, eight legs and a taste for marshmallows. Luckily, she’s dating the expert in alien pest control.
Lena Luthor was a strong, smart, successful woman, the CEO of a multi-billion dollar company, a scientist, an engineer and a pretty damn good chess player.
She had single-handedly saved the world on multiple occasions.
She took on alien invasions, bio-weapons and super villains  and she won.
She was not the damsel in distress.
Usually.
But when she got up in the middle of the night for a glass of water, and something small and furry (and blue?) streaked across the kitchen floor, over her bare feet and disappeared somewhere among the stacks of unopened boxes in her brand new apartment, she did what any reasonable, sane person would do; retreated to higher ground (aka a chair,) and called her girlfriend.
“Lena?”
“In here!”
Kara had thrown a jacket on over her pajamas, but her hair was still sleep-tousled, her glasses were sitting crookedly on her nose, and she may or may not have broken the lock letting herself in. Lena had never been happier to see her. “Are you okay? You sounded really worried on the-” She paused, blinking up at Lena with that adorable little crinkle of confusion between her eyes. “What are you doing up there?”
Lena gathered what little dignity she could given the situation -stranded on a chair in the middle of her kitchen in nothing but her underthings and a dressing gown designed to show off more than it concealed- wrapping the sheer silk more firmly around herself and lifting her chin. “There's an alien in my apartment.”
“Psht, an alien?” Kara scoffed, straightening her glasses. “There's no alien in your apartment, why would you think there was alien in your apartment?”
Lena raised a single eyebrow.
“Oh, right.” Kara had the grace to look sheepish. “Old habits. What happened?”
Lena gave her a brief description of the encounter, shuddering at the memory of little feet running over her toes. “It's hiding somewhere in there,” she said, waving in the general direction of the rest of the apartment.
Kara frowned. “You're sure it wasn't a mouse?”
“Mice don't usually come in pastel.”
“Good point. So you're...”
“Staying right here.” Lena crossed her arms. “I don't do mice.”
“But you just said it wasn't a mouse...”
“It was small and furry and it had a tail. Don't judge me.”
“Okay.” Kara took off her jacket and and rolled up her sleeves. “I'll take a look.”
(Lena would have been lying if she said the sight of those well muscled forearms and Kara's endearingly serious save the day face, wasn't almost enough to make up for needing to be saved in the first place. Almost.)
Sliding her glasses down her nose Kara scanned the apartment, quickly spotting the tiny intruder hiding under Lena's bed. “There you are...”
Lena's room was dark and quiet. There was another stack of boxes piled up against the wall, but there was some evidence that she had started to unpack since the last time Kara was here; clothes hung up neatly in the closet, a few books on the shelf under the window and a picture of her and Kara on the bedside table. Kara smiled at that before kneeling down beside the bed and twitching the blanket aside to get a better look at their intruder.
Eight glowing eyes blinked back at her from the shadows.
Definitely not a mouse.
“Hey there little guy,” she crooned. “Don't be scared. Lena's super nice, really. You just surprised her that's all. Come on out and we'll try to figure out who you belong to...” While she was talking, she edged as far as she could under the bed and reached out a hand. All eight eyes narrowed, shrinking back against the wall. Kara stretched a little further and there was a flash of light, followed by a pop! and an electric sizzle. Kara yelped and jerked back, smacking her head against the bed frame which cracked and split down the middle, dropping the mattress down on top of her.
“Oomph!”
Kara?” Lena called from the kitchen. “What happened?”
“I owe you a new bed!” Kara yelled back, muffled by the tangle of bedding as she squirmed her way free.
“Well this isn't exactly how I imagined us breaking the first one in,” Lena drawled switching on the light, “but I suppose it's my fault for not going with the metal frame.”
“Ha, ha,” Kara muttered, feeling her face heat up. “You came down off your chair?”
“I was worried.”
“Aw...”
“About my poor furniture. You on the other hand, are indestructible.”
Kara pouted, holding up her burned fingers. “Tell that to Pikachu!”
“It hurt you?” Lena softened instantly, taking Kara's hand and pressing a kiss to the reddened fingertips. Anything else she might have said was lost to the gooey haze that took over Kara's brain every time Lena's lips came anywhere near the vicinity of Kara's very gay self.
“Kara?”
“Hmm...?”
Lena sighed, but she looked pleased. “I asked if you think we should call Alex?”
“What? No.” Kara shook her head. “It's not dangerous, just scared. Come on, I have an idea. You found it in the kitchen, right?”
“Yes...” Lena followed close behind, hanging onto the hem of Kara's pajama top and keeping a sharp look out for any movement from the rest of the apartment.
“Well maybe it was looking for something to eat.” Kara rummaged through the cupboards and pulled out a bag of mini-marshmallows. After she and Lena had become official, the Super Friends had banded together to move Lena out of the hotel and into her new penthouse apartment. Given who she was dating, that had included stocking up groceries.
With or without her approval.
Lena wrinkled her nose. “I don't remember buying those.”
“You didn't have any good snacks!” Kara opened the bag and took another quick scan of the apartment. “It's under the couch. I'm going to see if we can lure it out.” She laid a trail of marshmallows from the edge of the couch to the middle of the living room floor and emptied out a box of books. Then she tugged Lena over to the couch. Lena shuddered, but she sat down next to Kara, tucking her feet safely up under her.
“And now... we wait,”
“What if it doesn't like marshmallows?” Lena whispered.
“Everyone likes marshmallows,” Kara assured her, poised on her knees with the open box held at the ready.
“Are you sure that's going to hold it?”
“Shhh...”
They waited.
Lena tried to resist, she really did, but the minutes ticked by and Kara was right there...
“Lena...” Kara hissed.
“What?”
“Stop distracting me!”
“Oh, is that distracting?” Lena purred. Stopping was the last thing on her mind. “What about this?”
“Lena...”
They both froze at a rustle from under the couch. Kara held her breath and a small white ball of fluff slowly crept into view. It's fur was a constantly moving halo around it, oscillating through a pastel rainbow of colour and then back to white again. It had eight little legs ending in two toes each, feather-like feelers, and a long tail that curled up and over it's back. It gobbled up the first marshmallow with tiny little squeaks of excitement and quickly moved on to the second.
Kara untangled herself from Lena and lifted the box, sliding noiselessly off the couch and readying herself to strike. She waited until it had finished the second and third marshmallow before she pounced.
Three things happened very quickly.
Kara slammed the box down.
The alien burned a hole through the cardboard and bolted.
Lena screamed.
Kara spun around. Lena was frozen on the couch with the fluffy little arsonist in her lap, trying to hide itself  in her shirt and peeping the smallest and saddest little peeps either of them had ever heard.
“Oh...” Lena unfroze, tears filling her eyes. “She's so scared, can't you feel it?”
“Careful,” Kara cautioned as Lena let go of her death grip on the couch and brought her hands up to cradle the furry menace. “We don't know what... oh.”
“It's okay,” Lena said softly, stroking the strange white fur; pink and purple swirls radiating out from under her fingers. The alien's cries gradually tapered off as it snuggled in; turning around three times with its strangely clawed toes catching on the silk of Lena's shirt and it's yawn wide enough to reveal several rows of pointed teeth before laying down in a tight little knot and closing all eight of it's eyes, tail curled up over Lena's thumb like a cinnamon roll. It was cute, in that weird way all baby animals were cute, and Lena was clearly smitten.
Kara sat down carefully beside them. One eye opened and a menacing little growl rumbled out from under Lena's hands. “Seriously?” Kara huffed and moved back. The growling stopped. “Of course it only likes you.”
“She has good taste,” Lena teased, but she shuffled them around, tucking the alien into the crook of her elbow and drawing Kara's arm over her shoulder.
Kara wisely kept her fingers out of biting range. “How do you know it's a she?”
Len shrugged. “I have no idea. I just knew.” She looked up at Kara. “Could she be telepathic?”
“I wouldn't know,” Kara admitted. “Kryptonians are immune to psychic powers. I can ask J'onn, though. Maybe he could help us figure out where she came from. We can't give her to the DEO after what they did to the Morai, but we can't exactly keep her either. There's no way that thing is passing for a pekingese.”
“I could attach an image inducer to her collar,” Lena mused.  “We'll say we adopted a kitten. Lesbians like cats, right?”
Kara snorted a laugh. “I'll ask Alex, though she's probably going to say we're missing a few steps. I'm pretty sure it's moving in together, and then pets.”
“Well it's a good thing I already had an extra key made, isn't it?”
“You did?” Kara tried for casual but inside she was doing back flips.
“Of course, why do you think I took the penthouse with a skylight? I'm certainly not going to be the one flying in and out of-”
Kara cut her off with a kiss, and by the time she pulled away they were both grinning like idiots.
They stayed there until the first light of sunrise began filtering in through the wide wall of windows. Curtains were another thing Lena hadn't gotten around to yet, but Kara didn't mind. She didn't care if they ever got curtains. She had love and sunshine, what else could she possibly need? Breakfast probably, her grumbling stomach reminded her. Sighing, she eased out from underneath her girlfriend and headed for the kitchen.
Like the rest of the apartment, it was half-unpacked at best, which is probably why they hadn't noticed the small metal cylinder wedged under the corner of the fridge, and the scattered trail of glass leading back to a hole in the corner of the kitchen window. Kara pulled it free, wondering if this was how their guest had arrived. The pod, if that's what it was, was scratched and dented, with three long tapering ridges spaced equally around the outside and a rounded nose. Kara ran her fingers over a line of strange symbols etched into the side, nearly dropping it when they lit up, revealing a message in unfamiliar script. Before she could even attempt to decipher it, the message changed, switching rapidly through dozens of different languages before settling into  an archaic form of Kryptonian, written in an angular, slanting style that was difficult to read.
“Home, destroyed,” Kara murmured, sounding out the words one at a time, “daughter, only hope, please protect, thank you-” She broke off, covering her mouth with her hands. The pod hit the floor wit a dull clang.
“Lena?!” she called, heart pounding.
“Mmm?” Lena murmured from the living room.
“I think we might have to skip a few more relationship steps.”
“Why?”
“Because I'm pretty sure we just adopted a baby...”

The Smartest of the Danvers Sisters part 2 (a B!D series)
You woke up in your bed the next day at 06:55 am just 5 minutes shy of your regular schedule, you were feeling as lot better than before if you took it easy going to school would be an option as long as you took it easy, after all you had a big reason to keep a perfect attendance, a 6ft tall reason, then as you started to wipe out the night gunk from your eyes you noticed something, something that made you freeze mentally and physically.
A t-shirt.
A large Gray t-shirt.
A large Gray t-shirt that you had bought for your girl friend Elena, and you were sure it was hers because, one, it smelled like her, old spice scent mixed with blue berry shampoo, two, to the best of your knowledge neither of your sisters had a t-shirt like this, Kara was all about cardigans and one pieces, total girly stuff, and it was in a really good condition to be Alex’s, that girl went through clothes quite fast given how she couldn’t be bothered to give a flying frick about them, and lastly, you had enjoyed removing it last week when both of you had gone to her home.
And that could mean only one thing, Elena had been here, and she had met your sisters - also Maggie and Lena, but they weren’t a cause for worry right now - closing your eyes you summed up your current predicament in the most articulate manner you could, “SHIT!”
picking up a baby pink apple cut Shirt and dark blue jeans to wear for today you casually got out of your room and paced towards the bathroom, for which you’d have to go through the living room/dining hall, you tried to act as nonchalant as you could but you felt all the eyes on you, and before you could make your way to your  desired sanctuary Alex called you out.
“Sweetie Y/N, how are you feeling now?” she strode towards you and checked your temperature by placing her hand on your forehead, finding that your fever had went down she gave you a slight smile and went back to setting the table for breakfast, you knew your sisters and you knew the bomb would be dropped at the right moment - at least as far as they were concerned - so savoring what time you did have you rushed into the bathroom and took a long hot shower.
When you came out and sat down for the breakfast no one said anything, and that rung warning bells in your minds louder than a nuclear plant would in case of an accident, your family, especially Kara were chatterboxes and when you had just bounced back from being sick they’d chatter extra fast to make up for any deficit, but right now your family was quieter than a grave yard.
And then Lena being the Luthor she was pulled the pin from the grenade, “So Y/N did you sleep well?”
In any other house hold that’d be a perfectly normal question, so mundane that it’d be taken for granted, but not in your house, not with you, last time you didn’t get a good night’s sleep you had raised an unholy hell, your sisters, their girlfriends and rest of the super friends were shocked by your display, and they definitely hadn’t expected the growling demonic voice that had escaped your throat when Kara had tried to remove you from your bed by pulling on your PJ’s with her super strength but had only managed to tear the said PJ’s because how tightly you had held onto the bed.
so your carefully replied in a cheerful tone, “Of course, the best I’ve had as of late, all thanks to you guys! how about a party tonight? Pizza’s Potstickers and everything? on me obviously” you had laid it as thick as you could, and hopefully preemptively neutralized whatever Kara would have followed with.
“That’s a good thing, though i must say you were in a deep slumber, given not even your princess charming’s magic wasn’t able to wake you up yesterday when you smooched her” Unfortunately the strike didn’t come from Kara but from Alex, which was odd, and dangerous, Alex did not followup Lena unless it was a life or death situation, it simply did not happen they were like the two heads of a runespoor which always fought about well... everything - Kara being the third dopey head that did whatever she wanted to because .... she could - you quickly took a spoon full of cereal and stuffed your mouth with it buying yourself a minute to think up an appropriate response.
Well if your family was going to change their pattern today then it was just fair you returned the favor, you swallowed the morsel in your mouth and began, “Mum’s coming over this weekend, how about I call over Elena for dinner? we’ll sort it out for once and for all.”
Both Kara and Alex looked surprised, you weren’t the kind of person to delay talking about any issue with your family, in fact you made it a point to sit with them every alternative weekend and talk about any and all emotional baggage they wanted to.
But then something else struck them, they thought they knew everything about you, but it was starting to be quite evident you weren’t simply their dimply baby sister who would follow them like a duckling followed it’s mother, you had grown older, soon to be adult and now they didn’t know how much of what they knew was just their own assumptions and how much the truth.
You didn’t wait for them to reply instead simply placed your bowl in the sink, took your bag and rushed out for school.
At school you met Elena who gave you a soft smile when she saw your hunched shoulders, and you both went to your class with a companionable silence.
at lunch when you both were heading to the cafeteria to meet your friends you broke the news to her, “Elena, umm I need you to come over this weekend after what happened yesterday, my family wants to meet you, also my mom would be there”.
She paled a little, and then after heaving a soft sigh she took a deep breath and looking you into the eye she said, “7:30 in the evening works?”
You gave her a toothy smile, dimples and all then standing on your toes, you gave a chaste kiss on her cheeks simply replying “works perfectly.”
Though internally you thanked whatever was looking out for you and most importantly you couldn’t help but fall over your five ft lesbian ass in love all over again with the jolly green giantess who deserved the sun the moon and all the stars the universe had and then some.

Magic Baseball
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: I don’t know anything about baseball, so bare with me. A little friendly competition between Legends and Superfriends.
Warning:
Legends Vs Superfriends, Season 4 ships
Word Count: 1165
It was suppose to be a friendly get together, no one actually knew how it escalated to a fight between the teams. Especially on a baseball field where it wasn’t in anyone’s job description.
You actually didn’t want to play this game as you we’re apart of both teams at one point. The Legends, dressed in dark green baseball tees, stood on a baseball field in Central City and waited for the Superfriends to arrive. A blue and white swirl of a portal appeared as nine members from Superfriends entered Earth-one.
“Hey everyone!” Kara smiled.
“(Y/N), it’s nice to see you again.” Lena moved to hug you as the rest of the Legends gave a questioning glance.
“I helped them defeat Reign, before you guys recruited me.”
“Well having a temporal micro-manipulation and kinetic energy absorption metahuman is good on any team,” Ava and Lena had protective glare battle against each other.
“Unless she’s on the opposing team,” Nia commented.
“Is this normal baseball with the exception with powers?” Nate asked.
“Hold on that’s a little unfair, the Legends have more powers,” Alex reasoned.
“Are you scared you’d get your ass kicked, Danvers?” Sara teased.
“It’ll be your turn to fall on your butt, Lance.”
“I mean, last time you fell off the bed on your own,” Sara smirked.
“Wait what?” Kelly and Ava turned towards their respective girlfriends.
Sara turned to Kelly with a smile before she faced Alex. “It’s seems you took my advise about Maggie.”
You, Zari and Charlie or as Charlie like to call your trio, Charlie’s Angels smirked and teased their Captain. Mick on the other hand, wasn’t so subtle.
“Boss, is that the lady you had sex with during the speedster’s wedding!” Charlie’s Angels laughed as Alex blushed and Kelly and Ava grew red.
Ava grabbed Sara by the elbow and dragged her to the other side of the dugout. Kelly just had her eyebrows raised with Alex cowering in fear.
After the whole, whatever just happened, Sara and Kara the respective leaders stood on the pitching mound calling heads or tails. It was decided that powers, suits and skills were allowed to be used throughout the game.
With that said Team Legends took to the pitcher’s mound, the bases and the outfield. Nate was the pitcher, Ray in his exosuit was the catcher, John stood on center field ready to work his magic, Zari stood on left field with her air totem, Charlie stood on right field ready to shift, Mick positioned near first base, Ava with her courier near second, you on shortstop and Sara near third.
Winn had struck out, Brainy had calculated a homerun and J’onn had hit towards you. You scooped up the ball and with your kinetic energy absorption you slowed J’onn down. You were able to get close to him before another kinetic pulse erupted. You however frowned when you went to tap him when you fell through.
You rolled into a somersault and threw the ball towards Sara. J’onn now stood on third as Kara stepped onto the plate. Nate nodded towards Ray and the moment Nate threw a curveball Ray miniaturized it.
“Strike one!” Ray unshrunk the ball and tossed it back to Nate.
“Okay if we’re playing it that way,” Kara mumbled.
“Z, John, Charlie get ready!” Sara yelled.
Once Nate pitched Kara swung over her shoulder. All nine of the Legends looked up and wondered where the ball went. J’onn and Supergirl made it to home plate with cheers from Superfriends.
“Hold on love, where did the ball go?” John still locked up.
“Bloody Hell, If I knew I was going to play with a creature like this. I wouldn’t play!” Charlie threw her cap down.
“Should I get Gideon to fabricate another ball.” Ava asked Sara.
“Hey skirt! We are playing baseball not spaceball!” Mick yells.
“That sounds fun,” You smiled. “Come on, don’t blame Kara for hitting the ball.”
“We did agree on being able to use powers,” Nia argued.
Once Ava came back with a whole duffle with baseballs, John used his magic to catch the ball from Alex, and Lena surprising reached second base. When Nia hit the ball towards Sara, Sara caught it and tackled the Luthor out.
When it came to switching, the Legends groaned when Supergirl took to center field, J’onn in his Martian form on right field, Brainy with his Legion ring on left field, Alex on the pitching mound, Lena near first, Kelly near second, Nia as shortstop, Winn near third and James as the catcher.
If there’s anything you can take away from this game is that your teammates are cheaters and sore losers. John was up to base first and the moment he stepped onto plate, he chanted and the ball disappeared into thin air as he swung. Sara and Ava cheered as John pulled out a flask and held it up towards Superfriends and walked around all the bases.
“Cheer, lads!”
“Okay Superfriends we got this!” Supergirl pumped.
You had made it to first base with Ray on second. Zari was up to bat when you stepped off base ready to run. Alex had caught the slight movement and threw towards Lena as you dived towards first. This caused Ray to steal third as his Atom suit projected further also with the help of temporal micro manipulation as you returned the ball into Lena’s mit when she threw it towards Winn.
“You’re a pain,” Lena glared as she tossed the ball back towards Alex.
“Well, I try my best.”
Alex threw a fast ball towards Zari and the moment the ball left Alex’s hand you sprinted towards second. Kelly scooped up the ground ball and threw it towards Kara.
One moment you were heading towards second the next you were groaning in pain in the floor.
“Kara!” The whole field yelled.
“(Y/N)! I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to! Oh my god! I’m so sorry! I got too excited and I forgot to hold back my strength!” Kara rambled.
“Hey kiddo you alright?” Sara and Alex asked in sync and looked at each other before trying to listen to your answer.
“Kara dislocated my shoulder!” You managed to say through pained gasps
“Okay hang on there squirt, we’ll get you help,” Lena and Ava said in sync.
“Blimey, (Y/N) you should look at your arm!”
“I’m gonna pop it back in (Y/N/N),” Alex hovered over you. “3,2-”
An agonizing scream rivaled the canary cry.
“Stay off your shoulder.” Alex requested.
You forced out laughter. “Like Ava or Sara would let me do anything.”
“Im so sorry.”
“I’m fine Kara,” you hugged to reassure her.
“I’m guessing the game is over?” Winn asked.
Another Magic Baseball was planned but you never went in fear of getting injured again. The Legends babied you while your arm healed and when you visited Superfriends during holidays you would use your dislocated arm against Kara.

Angels To Fly - Chapter 2
Chapter 1, Chapter 2 on ao3
Could not have done it without @supercorpppp‘s great feedback :)
Trigger warning for suicidal thoughts at the beginning of the chapter.
Kara glides through National City, slightly enamored with how modern mankind has become. She’s still taken aback with everything, to say the least. Namely, how can she have an adult charge? Why has this woman not been given a new Guardian when her previous one died? She listens intently to the woman’s thoughts invading her mind. Lena Luthor, that’s her name.
In a flash, Lena’s thoughts become louder as Kara finally descends towards her destination. She stops as soon as her eyes focus on a lone brunette standing and contemplating life and death by the suspension bridge, looking beyond the sea.
“Wow.” Kara mutters to herself upon getting a good look at Lena Luthor, a bit starstruck at that. She knows her charge is beautiful, she just didn’t expect for her to be this humanly stunning.
Kara closes her eyes for a few seconds, trying to calm down the cluttered thoughts of her charge in her head. She flies slowly and closer towards Lena, finally settling almost a hundred feet from her. The Guardian tries to find a center and hopefully get through the main dilemma so she can find a proper solution to talk her charge out of harming herself.
Soon enough, Lena settles herself on the outer side of the railing, her hands tightly gripping the steel behind her. Kara’s eyes widen, almost panicking at the scene before her. One wrong move and her charge will plunge towards her death in the depths of the ocean.
“It has to end now. I can do this.” Lena’s thoughts echo in Kara’s mind. A rush of incoherent thoughts follows along with the conflicting emotions that she felt awhile ago.
Kara looks back on her various trainings, thinking of the appropriate action to the situation. She’s tempted to go down and pose as a human but that could have dire circumstances. Besides, this is her first time on the job. Rao knows what could happen to her if she took matters into her own hands.
From Kara’s vision, Lena sighs deeply. Lena extends her body with her tight grip on the railing as the only thing preventing her from falling. Her limbs are shaking, lips quivering, palms getting clammy. The brunette’s breathing picks up intensely when the powerful wind breezes, making her stance falter.
Kara closes her eyes and tries to pierce through her charge’s emotional defenses. As part of her powers as a Guardian, Kara can convey her thoughts by talking directly to Lena through their unique connection. However, Lena can only hear them under the guise of having ‘nagging thoughts’ alongside her own.
“I can’t take this anymore. Goodbye, Lex. Goodbye, Mom, Dad. I love you.” Lena takes one deep breath and prepares to release her hold on the railing.
“Don’t do it.” Kara mutters, eyes focused on Lena who freezes in her spot. “Please don’t. You really don’t want to do this. You have so much left to live for. You are capable of so much more. Whatever it is you’re going through, you will overcome it. Taking your own life is not the answer to your problems. The world can be unfair but I swear that life gets better. I believe in you.” She adds in a whisper.
Lena’s forehead creases, looking conflicted all of a sudden. Kara pushes it a little more by displaying comforting images in Lena’s mind. She throws in all of Lena’s happy memories she can access as well as hopeful thoughts and dreams that the brunette has.
“Please don’t do it, Lena.” Kara trails off once again, hovering closer to her charge this time. “Someone still cares for you. I will listen to you. I will do anything and everything I can to protect you. You are worth more than the world thinks of you. You are more special than the world makes you out to be. You matter, Lena. We’ll get through this together, I promise you.” Kara adds, giving out a small smile.
Lena takes a deep breath, finally letting herself cry. The tears come free falling, emotions pouring in. The brunette tightens her grip on the railing once again as she comes to realize what she’s about to do. Without thinking twice this time though, Lena moves away from the outer railing and carefully sets foot into the bridge again. She gathers herself by squatting on the pavement, covering her face as she wipes away the tears.
Kara lets out a deep sigh of relief. It was quite a close call even for her. She shakes off the heavy feeling then turns back her attention on Lena whose chest is still heaving from crying, the trembling feeling still coursing through her body.
“Kara? Kara, can you hear us?” Alex’s unmistakable voice utters from somewhere around Kara, startling her.
“Alex? Where are you?”
“I’m still in the command center. We’re telepathically connected to you via the control panel. We can see you and Lena Luthor right now.”
“O-Okay. Have you finally figured out how this happened?”
“No, Kara. That’s why we need you back here right now. We’ve never had a case like this, we need to work out just how big of an impact this is to us.”
Kara purses her lips, preparing to fly away but not before sneaking a look at Lena who has finally calmed down. “Will she be alright?”
Silence greets her until J’onn speaks up. “We can keep an eye on her from here while we figure this out. You can always go back in a flash if need be.”
Kara hesitantly nods at no one in particular. “Alright. I’m on my way back.” She utters and swiftly travels to headquarters.
However, when Kara comes close to reaching headquarters, another surging uncomfortable feeling strikes her again making her stop in her tracks. It’s more profound and distressing this time around. She tries to feel for Lena’s presence, listening more intently if there’s any call for help or lingering thoughts that would give her an idea but alas, nothing.
“Alex, something’s wrong again. I can feel it. What’s happening?!” Kara exclaims to herself. She hears slight murmur in the transmission between her and headquarters until Alex speaks.
“Kara, what you just received is an alert.” Alex starts. “It’s Lena’s imminent death.”
Lena Luthor wanders back to where she parked her car with a heavy heart.
She had a plan. She told herself that all her misery was going to end tonight. That all those cooped up feelings she tried hard to keep inside would come barreling down the depths of the ocean along with her. But at the last second, everything dawned on her. She felt a veil of protection she hadn’t felt in a long time, a voice inside her head telling her not to jump followed by a surge of treasured memories as well as dreams she has yet to fulfill in her life. It was an unworldly feeling but somehow, it was certainly what she needed.
Lena sighs deeply. She crosses the dark street and rounds the corner where she parked her Aston Martin. However, from afar, she sees three men and a woman inspecting the vehicle. Her forehead creases, sensing that they aren’t lurking around for friendly relations judging by the metal rods and sledgehammers in their hands.
She immediately stops in her tracks and hides behind a wall, feelings of intense nervousness creeping upon her once again. She fishes out her phone from her coat pocket to dial 911 but unfortunately, the gadget slips out from her grip and falls into the ground in a loud manner.
“Shit!” Lena hisses to herself. She subtly peeks behind the wall and sees the group whispering among themselves, pointing to her direction. Almost immediately, two of them take out their guns and start making their way towards her.
Lena’s eyes widen, her senses going into overload. She hastily walks the other way, trying to figure out a solution while sending – or rather, praying – for some kind of miraculous help to intervene from the potential danger she’s in.
“Hey, baby! Where ya going?” Man #1’s voice calls out behind her. She disregards it and keeps her head down, hands in her coat pockets as she crosses the block.
“Girl, wait up! You forgot your phone!” The woman voices out.
“Pretty girls like you shouldn’t be alone at this time of the night!” Man #2 chimes in.
She glances quickly on her shoulder, a mere split second. But upon looking back in front again, she bumps into a man emerging from the street corner, making her jump in surprise.
“Hi there, darling. You seem to be in a hurry.” Man #3 utters with a smirk, trying to get a good look on Lena’s face while effectively blocking her way.
Lena nervously looks around her, swallowing the lump in her throat. She keeps her head down and tiptoes around the man but to no avail when the other three catch up to her.
“Hello there, sweetheart. I can’t help but notice that you look expensive. You own that pretty looking car, don’t you?” Man #1 grins devilishly, looking her up and down.
“L-Look, you can have my wallet, jewelry, even the car. Just don’t hurt me. I won’t even go to the police.” Lena declares, trying to sound confident.
“Oh, she’s generous.” The woman chimes in, joining in the others’ laughter as they start to circle Lena. “That’s a nice offer but I’m afraid we can’t have that, right, boys?”
“Yeah. You people always say that but when you go scot-free, the first thing you do is call the police.” Man #2 says spitefully. “We’re on probation, lady. The moment you call the cops on us, we’re going back straight to prison.”
Lena glares back at them. “W-What the fuck do you want?”
The quintet breaks into mocking laughter. “Wow, you’re still feisty, huh?” Man #3 trails off. “You already offered everything and we could let you go if we want to. But the thing is, you’ve already seen our faces and we certainly can’t have that. Don’t worry, it’s not our first rodeo.” He seethes while taking out a small knife, all of them inching closer to her.
Lena looks down on the ground. With how close they are to her, she has only one chance for an escape. She turns towards her intended direction and tightly closes her eyes as she takes a deep breath, tucking herself in the crook of her elbow. She holds on tightly to the armed pepper spray inside her coat pocket and in one swift motion fishes it out, deliberately aiming for their eyes and nose as she proceeds to generously discharge it.
“Fuck!-“ One of them groans out in pain. Lena doesn’t let them move as she clumsily knocks them over to the ground.
Lena hastily and almost blindly goes off towards the direction back to her car. She runs like she’s never run before as the adrenaline pumps in her veins, only looking back every few seconds to check if they are still following her. A slight burn brushes in her eyes making her squint every now and then as well as some painful gushing in her throat that she tries to ignore. She’s about to round the corner when a gunshot echoes in the background.
She cowers immediately, looking back to see them still disoriented but slowly catching up to her. Lena proceeds to run faster when she feels her right leg slightly dragging. She looks briefly at it and sees blood gushing down her right calf with the actual pain only setting in upon looking.
“Come back here, you bitch!” A manly voice angrily exclaims behind Lena followed by three consecutive gunshots, luckily missing the brunette. The bullets hit a car’s windshield and somehow a fire hydrant that explodes, blocking the path and giving Lena a generous leeway. She places both hands on the back of her head and neck as she flinches, finally turning the corner.
“S-Shit!” She exclaims to herself, fumbling with the keys of the Aston Martin while running. She’s only a few feet away to her car when she trips on her feet. The pain of having been shot on the thigh finally catching on when she feels a great deal of difficulty getting back on her feet.
“C-Come on!” Lena whispers angrily to herself while dragging her body closer to the driver’s side. From afar, she could hear several footsteps becoming louder by the second. She sighs deeply, knowing that if she doesn’t try, she could very well be dead anyway. In one quick motion, she places all the pressure on her left side and uses the leverage to carry herself in an upwards manner while leaning on her car. Lena takes a peek down her leg and for some miraculous reason, the bleeding has stopped and the pain is almost gone. Her forehead creases as she catches up on her breathing, proceeding to slide down towards the car door while trying to open it.
“Hey, bitch! Don’t fucking move or I fucking swear we will blow your head off!” One of the men declares a few feet away from Lena, making her instantly freeze in her spot.
“Holy shit! I know this chick! It’s that Luthor girl with the insane brother!” The woman chimes in.
“Yeah. That delusional brother who tried to kill the families in this town. I guess it’s about time we return the favor then.” Man #3 trails off with a smirk, sharing a look with the other three and motioning for them to fire at will.
Lena’s breath hitches as she closes her eyes with the knowledge of what’s coming next. She takes a few steps back while holding up both arms in front of her like reflex. She waits for the torment to come as simultaneous gunshots go off, the stinging pain of what would be her slow, painful death. But nothing comes.
Curious, Lena slowly opens her eyes to unveil an otherworldly sight. A flash of blinding light greets her vision at first. When her eyes start to adjust to the brightness surrounding her, the image almost gives her a heart attack.
A woman exuding an ethereal glow with huge wings shielding them from the bullets.
“L-Lena’s death? What do you mean, her death? I just saved her from taking her own life, Alex!” Kara exclaims, confused upon arriving at her designated control panel room.
“Yes but this is a whole different thing, Kara. Guardians get that sort of notification when their charge’s imminent death is coming. Of course, this kind of alert normally comes days before but seeing that the predicament and the general mess of all things right now, it makes sense that we’ve only gotten Lena Luthor’s death warning a few minutes ago.” Alex utters sympathetically.
“You cannot be serious with this, Alex! I haven’t been her Guardian for more than half an hour and now you’re saying she’s going to die in less than ten minutes?!”
“Kara, we cannot do anything about this. We can’t interfere with anyone’s intended death.” J’onn interjects with a warning tone. “What you can do is guide her to the beyond once she dies. It’s your job.”
A stream of thoughts and Lena’s voice suddenly interrupts Kara. “Walk faster! You need the police, Lena. Don’t hesitate to use the mace in your pocket. They’re going to kill you. You need help.” Lena’s desperate voice proclaims.
“She’s calling for me. She’s in trouble and she needs my help.” Kara mindlessly reiterates, still focusing on Lena’s thoughts.
“Kara, you know the rules. Don’t meddle with this, okay? You can’t-“ Alex trails off.
“I know the rules, Alex.” Kara warily responds. “There’s billions of control panels here and just my luck, I get the clunky one. What I don’t get is why I’m being subjected to all this trouble right now? First, I get an adult charge. Second, I almost botched trying to save her from jumping off a bridge. And now, you’re telling me she’s going to die after all that? She doesn’t deserve this. She’s a good person!”
“Shit! Shit! Shit! Calm down, okay? You need to be on your toes if you want to get through this.” Lena’s thoughts ring in Kara’s head.
“Kara, there’s nothing you can do. We’ll have this sorted out and get you another charge. You did your best to save her earlier but her death is an entirely different thing that is out of our hands.” J’onn interjects.
“But she heard me when I talked to her! I-I don’t know how but it was uncanny. It’s as if she heard me-“
“It’s probably in the link-up, Kara. Yes, it’s unusual but maybe you have a strong connection with her because she’s an adult? O-Or it's your powers. You're one of the most powerful Guardians around. Look, we’ve yet to figure this out so please, let this go.” Alex rambles.
“She’s my charge!” Kara raises her voice. “She needs my h-help- I can’t let her die just like that! Lena has been through so much. There has got to be another way!”
“There isn’t unless you want to lose your Guardianship.” J’onn utters sternly. “Revoke her pass.” He orders Vasquez, referring to the Kara’s authority to go through the portal between the human world and theirs.
Kara’s forehead creases at the notion. Knowing how stubborn she can be, Kara supposes that J’onn and Alex can’t certainly risk any chances if she were to pull something unpredictable.
Alex sighs, cautiously approaching Kara. “This is your first time on the job, sweetie. It happens to the rest of us. We know that it’s difficult but you’ll get through this-“
Kara doesn’t let Alex finish speaking. She abruptly spreads her wings and flies off into the human realm once again, barely missing the gate closing in on her by the feather of her wings.
“Kara!” She hears Alex’s voice calling out after her a little too late.
Kara locates Lena’s whereabouts by following the sound of her charge’s thoughts as she nears National City, soaring at the speed of light. Momentarily, she arrives to see Lena looking absolutely terrified while being hounded by strangers taunting her with their weapons.
“Kara, she’s meant to die! Don’t interfere or I will send out the other Guardians to come and get you, that’s an order!” Alex’s faint voice telepathically echoes in her mind through the control panel.
Kara grits her teeth, torn between following her superior or protecting her charge at all costs. She gets distracted when she hears a gunshot from the ground below her. Upon surveying the scene more closely, she sees that Lena Luthor had been hit by a bullet on her right leg. Kara swallows the lump in her throat and ultimately makes a decision upon herself, disregarding all protocols.
Just when the dangerous strangers fire off their weapons once again, she uses her powers to deflect the bullets from hitting Lena as she’s about to round the corner. Further, Kara blows up the fire hydrant in a bid to stall them from catching up to her charge.
Kara catches up to Lena incapacitated and bleeding on the ground, trying to crawl to her car. Without thinking, she hurriedly goes to the brunette’s side and heals the wound by placing both hands above it. She knows that she’s not supposed to but it wouldn’t be possible for Lena to make her escape if she can’t drive at all.
Suddenly, the attackers catch up to Lena almost when she’s about to make her escape. They point their guns at the brunette while Kara can only helplessly look on as she hovers above them. She’s sure now more than ever that this is how Lena’s intended to die. If she interferes with this event, it’s highly likely that she’ll lose her Guardianship and even Lena as her charge. She’s already in big trouble as it is with all the obstruction she did in the past few minutes. All those years of Guardian training ultimately yielding no fruit. All her dreams of becoming a model Guardian will essentially cease to exist. If she’s in the least bit lucky, maybe she could get her job back of delivering news to the angels.
She glances back at Lena, watching how the brunette’s expression contorts to that of terror and fear. Kara tries to look within her charge’s thoughts. Several flashes of family memories, milestones, and regrets come to light. It must be her compassion or sympathy of having to feel for her charge or being generally unexperienced on the job but regardless, she feels a rare connection with Lena Luthor that makes her question her choices.
Guardians are by nature, invisible to humans. Unless they choose to voluntarily release themselves from such, they will remain so., Alex told her during their first Guardian training session.
If Kara were to hinder Lena’s death, she’ll have to voluntarily reveal herself to protect her charge. Granted that humans are not susceptible to beings like her, it will also definitely lead to disastrous consequences once she goes back to Heaven. Never mind not entirely being sure just how much vulnerable she will become once she brings herself to light. However, without thinking it through, she takes it upon herself to ignore reason when the men start to shoot at Lena, completely disregarding the thought that she’ll be seen in her true form by mere mortals.
Kara swiftly lands in front of Lena, creating a crack on the ground. She holds out both of her arms in a cross manner, using her huge wings to cover herself and Lena from the line of fire while employing her powers to block out any other damage that could possibly hurt them.
“What the-“ One of the men exclaims in horror, all of them proceeding to shoot Kara and Lena with all they have got.
Kara glances behind her to see her charge looking back at her in a dumbfounded manner, not entirely believing what’s happening. When Kara hears the gunshots rapidly decline, she abruptly flutters her wings in a wave-like gesture to bring out a powerful gust of wind that knocks out their attackers far off into the street.
Kara sighs deeply, carefully gazing down on the immobilized attackers. She surveys her wings and body for any wounds that may have escaped her but thankfully, there’s none. She slowly turns around to face Lena, checking any visible injuries when the expression on the brunette’s face catches her attention.
“W-What are you?!” Lena exclaims as she takes a step back, scared out of her wits.
Kara’s eyes widen, the image of her being an angel with gigantic wings and glowing in plain sight escaped her for a moment. She tries to come up with something, holding both of her hands up in a calming manner.
“I’m Kara. I’m your-“ Kara utters and barely takes a step towards Lena when she hears another gunshot.
Lena can’t quite believe what she’s seeing right before her eyes. She’s not high nor is she drunk as far as she can remember. But for the love of all that is good and holy, it can’t be possible that a beautiful angel in what looks like a white jumpsuit is standing in front of her.
Lena takes another step back, bent on getting into her car to drive away as far away as possible from all this madness when the sound of gunshot erupts again. She cowers in fear just as Kara the angel hastily hovers into the air towards the woman attacker holding up a gun. In the blink of an eye, Kara clasps her hands together and emits a powerful shockwave in an almost concussive force. The woman flies off into a car’s windshield, unconscious but barely alive much to the angel’s horror.
What the fuck is this shit?, Lena thinks to herself in a panic. She takes this moment to get into her car, taking off the other way in a hurry while clumsily finding her spare phone in the glove compartment. She catches up on her breathing when she notices the mysterious angel slowly and almost lifelessly falling into the ground with force from her rearview mirror.
Lena contemplates whether or not she should stop. The attackers could still very well be after her but whoever that winged woman is, she still saved Lena’s life. She couldn’t just leave her there. Lena takes a deep breath and opting not to think anymore, turns her car around and drives towards the angel lying motionless on the ground.
She slowly gets out of her car and carefully trudges towards the woman. Lena kneels beside the angel, not entirely sure what to do to an otherworldly being. She’s about to take a stray hair out of Kara’s hair when the angel’s ethereal glow starts to disappear.
Lena falls on her butt, crawling backwards in fright. She keeps her eyes on the woman and watches how the angel’s wings begin to vanish in an illuminated pixel-like fashion towards the sky. As soon as the angel’s wings completely disappear, Lena notices a stream of blood coming out of Kara’s torso.
She surveys the lifeless body before her looking every bit the human one can possibly be.
“Kara! Kara?!” Alex angrily screams. “What happened? Why can’t she hear us?! Why can’t we see her?!”
“W-We don’t know, ma’am. This has never happened before.” Vasquez utters with confusion. “We can’t reach her. She’s nowhere to be found in the directory. It’s as if she doesn’t exist.”
“What?! That’s it! I’m going to come and get her back here!” Alex declares, materializing her wings.
“I’m afraid you can’t, Alex.” J’onn calmly interjects.
“What do you mean I can’t? Open the gate and call the other Guardians-“
“You won’t be able to get Kara even if you tried.” J’onn points to the static screen in front of them. “That’s not normal. All Guardians are always at our beck and call. Kara not being able to be found anywhere is a first for a Guardian.” He adds. “Vasquez, show us Lena Luthor.”
Vasquez nods. Shortly, Lena Luthor is shown to be surrounded by emergency medical staff and police apprehending her attackers. Looking closely on the side, they notice what seems to be an unconscious and bleeding Kara being loaded into an ambulance.
Alex’s eyes widen in shock. “N-No. It can’t be. How is that possible?”
“I have no idea. I didn’t even know it was possible until today.” J’onn responds, fear in his eyes. “It takes a lot to be stripped of being a Guardian. Kara’s must have done something beyond belief to trigger this phenomenon.”
“S-So, she’s-“
“Yes. It's not just that she's no longer a Guardian or even an angel.” J’onn declares. “Kara is now mortal.”
It’s going to be light-hearted from here on out. You’ll also get all the answers to everything as we go :)
