You asked for OCs, I deliver! These are my main ones rn but I have a couple others in production

Traci (left) is a member of the CCC and works in a mobile unit. Her job is less containment and more keeping an eye on ppl with special powers, but she's fickle with her priorities. Not afraid to cause problems as long as she won’t get in trouble for it.

Cael (right) is a delivery person who got captured by the Wall because they panicked and swallowed a gemstone they were supposed to deliver, and because that gem happened to be magic they have powers and their eyes glow blue now. More than anything they want their life to go back to normal.

I have posted about them in the past but it's pretty spread out so if you want any specifics feel free to ask. (I am making an attempt at organizing stuff but idk how well that’s going rn.)

Horseweed (I misnamed it horsetail on the stream, my apologies, there is also another plant with that name that I will post about as well!)

Firstly, what is it and what are the benefits of this fabulous plant? Well, this weed is commonly found across the Northern and Southern Americas and has spread elsewhere to places like Europe, Asia, and Australia. Thankfully along with its wide availability, it is also full of health benefits with a yummy taste included!

Some benefits include antibacterial, anti-fungal, and carminative properties (a fancy way of saying it helps relieve gas). Also, it treats diarrhea, hemorrhoids, and menstrual irregularities. An awesome bonus is that it is said to treat an array of skin problems including eczema, and ringworm, among others as well. This usage was found primarily in African cultures and (so far) I haven't been able to identify what properties aid the skin problems. [It also may be an effective way to treat herpes, boils, and bites but use with caution as I haven't found more detailed info on those claims.]

Recipes!!

Horseweed Tea:

The ratio of plant matter to water when making a tea is going to vary amongst what your overall preference would be as far as potency of benefits and flavor are concerned. A great idea is to fill a heat-safe container with the leaves and cover it with boiled water, steeping overnight. To get the most out of the plants, allow the hot mixture to cool at room temp before storing it in the fridge to steep overnight.

Horseweed Syrup:

For this, all you'll need is your previously mentioned tea mixture and sugar of your choice! Add a 1:1 ratio of sugar and tea to a pot and bring to a boil. From there, simmer it until it becomes your desired consistency.

If the syrup is added to carbonated water it will have a flavor similar to that of a combination of cream soda, Dr. Pepper, and root beer - BUT MEDICINAL!

The cycle of the Sun represents the cycle of our lives and reflects the natural flow of  energy moving inward and outward. There are times to grow, times to pause, times to let go and times to learn. Just as we align with the Moon’s journey every month, we can align with the Sun’s journey throughout the year. It is a powerful cycle to honor.  While the Spring Equinox begins this journey and represents new beginnings, the Summer Solstice 夏至 Xiàzhì represents the next step of this divine cycle. The Summer Solstice reminds us to turn inward and find the light within us all, to grow and evolve.

Living is to celebrate and acknowledge the life force energy within us and give back to Source some of the energy and blessings that we have been receiving.

Creating ceremonies, celebrations, or rituals for summer solstice is a way for humans to express gratitude for these gifts. We have so many things to be thankful for—our families, our friends, our homes—and there are so many ways we can express our gratitude for those things: through words and actions, through gifts and offerings, through celebration.

The sun reminds us that there is hope in the world, that it is a time to work on ourselves and our ability to be the light and find meaning in our journey, even when things seem uncertain. This is the circle of life - endings bring about new beginnings which transits into a period of uncertainty. Big shifts also cause old energies, anxiety and worries to surface and darkness can easily take over our souls and minds. In this time, we need light in the dark corners of our souls and minds to illuminate the faith we have in us, reminding us that just like the Sun, we will rise each day no matter what life brings us.

Hoe to use the sun's light in your life:

(1) Set intentions

Summer Solstice is a time of growth and light, so it’s a great time to charge up your intentions for the season.

Work on a goal review. What are the things that you want to bring into your life? What habits do you want to change? What should you stop doing? Then write down your intentions or affirmations. They can be goals, plans, aspirations—whatever works for and matters to you. You may meditate on the themes of this phase- patience, faith and self-empowerment. Create powerful "I am" statements that reflects these qualities and the development of them. "I am open to receiving the energy to develop trust in my life", "I am open to growth and self empowerment."

(2) Use gratitude statements.

Part of the spiritual manifestation process is to actually feel gratitude for what we have before we want other things. Through this act, we are sending energy out in the universe to call in the energy we desire.

(3) Immerse yourself in water.

As the summer solstice is right in the middle of the calendar year, it's a good time to bath in the light of the sun immersed in water, reconnecting with your body and awakening your senses. Let the water cleanse you, releasing you from all you no longer want to carry, as you enter the latter half of the year.

(4) Prepare a summer solistice gathering

Summer Solstice is the time of year when the sun is at its strongest, and the days are hottest. It’s a time when we can honor our connection to nature, and all that it gives us.

On this day, we can invite friends and family for a get together to imbue in the light of the sun.
