#tbh i have felt incredibly frustrated and sour all day and like #there are many reasons to live of course but the simple joy of how merry will approach me for cuddles like. #it is a very effective way to gain some perspective i suppose #'hey stuff is wrong with the world and a lot of stuff sucks but like' #'your kitten has a bond with you and loves you regardless of all of that stuff' #'he's a kitten he doesn't even know what taxes are theres so much more to life that creatures capable of loving and being loved #live in this world in a reality where none of those stressors directly affect them so maybe it's okay to back off and love them back' #merry knows that pets are good and food and treats and playtime are good and he celebrates simple victory in catching a bug #so maybe i can do a little mew or wiggle or human equivalent after finishing that paper or w/e #hes sleeping in his spot rn #he decided he wants to sit on his baby blanket on top of my backpack catty-corner from my desk #so that's his spot #he's close enough to come over for cuddles when he likes and far enough to have his own view of outside and do his own thing #i love my little cat #he's a very good baby boy
