"Dont you think its a bit weird hiding from the firenation... in the firenation?" Aang said while he pulled Zuko's hair back into the tight earth braid(French braid but atla) he was forming with it. Though he never tugged too hard.

Zuko let a sighe escape his lips "this is the last place they'd expect to find us"

"But isn't this the firelords personal vacation home?" Sokka inquired from across the small fire they made on the beach. He had Suki behind him braiding what little hair he had in his wolftail.

"Yeah, he might pop in at any point" Toph added onto the question with a statement from her spot beside Katara, who was brushing through her hair.

"Well, he hasn't been here since my family was happy, and thats been a long time" he said with a small wince when Aang accidentally tugged too hard at the small hairs at the base of his neck. Earning a small 'sorry' and a kiss at the attacked hairs.

"What about the firelady?" Suki asked innocently. Zuko glanced over at Katara, she was the only one he told about his mom.

He took a small breath to prepare himself "my mom left when I was younger" he figured that would satisfy their inquiries but no, they looked expectantly "when Uncle lost his son, my cousin Lu Ten, my dad went to Azulon and suggested he take the role of firelord instead since he had heirs. Azulon was mad and told my dad that he would have to suffer the same loss as Iroh, and ordered him to kill me." He took a pause "he was going to do it of course, but my mom did something to stop him. I dont know exactly what she did, but I'm still here so whatever it was worked."

"That's messed up" Toph said simply and earned a small laugh from Zuko just as Aang finished up with the braid he was doing. He managed to braid flowers into the hair while he wasn't paying attention, and once he reached the base of his hair he tied it off leaving a little tail.

"Yeah, well, my family is all kinds of messed up" he gave a shrug

Katara paused in her brushing and looked at Zuko "well, we're your family now okay?"

"Wh-"

"Yeah!" Sokka exclaimed "big brother!"

"Sokka, I'm older than you by a month" Aang whined

"Yeah, but that doesn't count, Zuko is older by a whole year!"

The two went on to bicker about the technicalities of birthdays and Zuko just rested his head against Aang's chest while they talked. He managed to doze off when Aang absentmindedly wrapped his arms around Zuko in a sort of sitting up cuddle movement.

When he woke up he was in his and Aang's bed with Aang curled up in his arms like a teddy bear. He pulled him closer and gave the back of his head a kiss which earned him a mumbled out "mornin"

"Actually, its past noon" he mumbled back, resting his cheek against the airbenders neck

"How can you tell?"

"Im a firebender Aang, I have a close connection to the sun and I can tell where it is in the sky without having to look, as long as I'm paying attention at least."

"Oh, cool, we should probably head out to the others then" Aang went ro move but Zuko held tight

"Not yet, I dont get to hold a teddy bear all that often, let me enjoy this" he placed several quick kisses against the back of Aangs head and neck earning him a sputtering mess of a monk

"Zukoooo" he whined "come on Im hungry!"

"Alright alright, lets go" and with that Zuko picked Aang up bridal style

"Hey! Wait!" Aang clung to Zuko's neck while being carried "put me down!"

"You could just airbend out of my arms if you wanted me to put you down, just enjoy me carrying you for a change"

Carrying the pouting Monk out to the others was a bit amusing given the watertribe siblings just gave him a look and Suki was the first to talk "wow, the carried becomes the carrier, feels nice doesnt it?"

"It does, especially given he could easily get down but he has yet to do so" he spoke to soon because Aang air bent out of his hold and landed next to him, giving a flick to his ear

"Jerk"

"Your jerk" he corrected

"Yeah yeah yeah. My jerk"

Bladebreakers: College Edition

anyone who’s already read my fics knows exactly what i’m about, so lets get straight to business about the college headcanons im about to slap yall with

also all under the cut bc this went way too long lmfao Hilary and Kenny should follow shortly bc it got really long and im just. oops

Kai is the first to go which is like. logical considering he’s the oldest and most driven out of all of them

not to mention he had the entirety of Hiwatari Corp. about to be put into his name as soon as he reached 18 and he’s just like aw man here we go

to be honest? he’s not keen on taking over the company, never has been (excluding the time where he felt obligated to under his grandfather’s influence) and the thought of actually having too just kinda. embitters him

so he gets himself sucked into the whole Business classes to get himself the necessary qualifications – and despite being bitter, he doesn’t half-ass shit so he studies on the regular

it isn't until Max wrangles him into finally giving his own interests a go and he changes his path to a History Major with a Minor in Business

he is so much happier

History, specifically Ancient History, had always been an avid interest in Kai’s books so he basically dives into his new studies with his own brand of stoic enthusiasm

its also the sole reason why he’s been amassing so many books in his personal collection at home, Hilary had implored him to buy bigger shelves after Max nearly broke his neck tripping over a loose pile

Kai likes to study alone, preferably in his private study (Tyson keeps making fun of him for having a private study at the age of 18, what are you, a grandpa? damn rich kid lmao) with soft instrumental music playing – he’s especially fond of rainy ambience music

of course, Kai is often seated at the back of the classes, but is indisputably one of the best students with very insightful and well-researched essays, naturally, most of his professors adore him

except a select few traditional-minded professors – they’re still bitter that Kai stood his ground when they had overlooked Cleopatra’s history and reduced her to the Ancient Sex Symbol and Kai was ready to cut a bitch at the blatant disrespect towards an Ancient Political Mastermind

the majority in his class has a fat crush on him but thats nothing new

Max, for a long time, had a bit of a dilemma as his parents urge him to start choosing his preferred path; was it going to be Engineering like his Mother or Mechanics like his Father, and honestly? the poor boy was so torn

in the end, he confessed he wanted to do neither – he loved Beyblade but it wasn’t something he wanted to dedicate his life to forever

instead, his heart had always belonged to the ocean and he dreams of being a Marine Biologist

his father was very supportive, while Judy had her doubts so it took a little convincing – in the end, her son’s joy was more important to her and she too gave her blessing for him to pursue his dream

Max goes on to major Zoology, directed towards marine animals, and takes up a minor in Engineering because hey, it pretty much runs in his family and it stayed an avid interest of his

his university wasn’t too far of from Kai’s own, so sometimes when he stays over at Kai’s he gets a free ride to class

he returns the gesture by always providing the best butter croissants for breakfast (they’re still warm too!)

Max usually studies in the campus library, noise-cancelling headphones on, bopping silently to whatever music he’s listening to as he reviews his notes for the next exam

he researches a lot for his topics and has collected so much trivia about the ocean and its inhabitants in general

Max: did you know jellyfishes have no brain? Kai: Max don’t bully Tyson Tyson: excuse me?

the professors love Max tbh, he’s always fully engaged within class so they usually let him get away with things mainly bc he’s just their Favourite

pretty sure half of the university knows of Max in some way or another, being a social butterfly and all and maybe having flooded the campus once by accident

Ray also had a hard time deciding what to do and what to study; being from a rural village with traditions certainly made him question wether he should pursue a modern career or stay within his community

the White Tigers were quick to kick his ass over it however, booting him straight to Kai’s doorstep and telling him to do what he feels was right for him

now, he’s managed to get himself applied to one of the prestigious university for culinary arts – he’s not too sure yet which path he wants to take in terms of culinary skill

he loves cooking and working in a kitchen, however after many work experiences he has found that working at the command of someone else wasn't exactly to his tastes, not to mention, he’d like to dabble in more traditional culinary arts

as of now, Ray particularly enjoys the sweeter side of cooking, preferring to create intricate pastries and confectionaries, often stemming from his chinese roots but also applying his skill within the japanese side of things

his homemade mooncakes are honestly to die for

next to his obvious passion for cooking, he’s also taken up classes in horticulture, mainly bc he’d love to grow his own ingredients and create his own sets of spices and various artisan products

since his career path is very labour focused, he often practices at home and takes inspiration from various chefs all around the world. his bookshelves are full of recipe books and general insightful cookbooks

Max had suggested to him to make videos of his dishes, mainly for self-improvement, but also being able to put them online to start a crowd interest for his work

its going pretty well actually, his videos have become quite popular since they are aesthetically pleasing, the food looks tasty as hell and also a wide crowd of older people have voiced their joy in seeing more traditional confectionary being made

his friends secretly love their birthdays nowadays bc without fail, Ray always gifts them homemade foods, from neat boxes of handcrafted chocolates to cute jars of sweet jams

he knows, he always takes time to create flavours he knows they will appreciate

Tyson, surprisingly, knew exactly what he wanted to do, and it wasn’t anything to do with Beyblade

look, he loves Beyblade, it’s something he’ll treasure all his life, something he’ll still pursue in the future, but

it won’t be what he wants to do full time

instead, he majors in Anthropology in order to pave his way into Archeology and everyone is so proud they start crying

next to his Major, he also minors in Business, mainly due to his longstanding position within the BBA, with whom he stays as a particular poster boy and star

next to his work with the BBA, he occasionally helps out in the Dojo and everyone kinda realises? that this guy is literally holding down two (2) whole jobs while also studying and if that isn't hardcore my dudes i don’t know

then again, he’s grown a lot and his interest in his father’s career had always accompanied him since he was a kid – however, his studying habits are still all kinds of atrocious and the only reason why he can even halfway ace his exams is bc he refuses to go down quietly, actually is really critical and analytical is he puts his head into it, and the fact that he employs Hilary to stand vigil with a rolled up magazine to smack him back into focus should he slack off

otherwise, he’s friends with most people in his class and regularly exchanges notes with them and even has become a favourite with a select few of his professors

most just find him exhausting but can’t refute his elaborate essays, which are both thoughtful as eyebrow raising

he attends the same university as Kai (much to his chagrin) and they stick together just as much as they bicker (one-sidedly) just like old times – however, they are both ancient history buffs and its one of the very few topics that they can be heard talking about in actual peace without Tyson going apeshit when Kai loses interest in the conversation

Tyson and Kai are also those college students who pull ridiculous all nighters to study

Max once got so nervous for an exam he made a terrifying concoction of Red Bull and Instant Coffee to stay up and study

he aced the exam but he cannot for the life of him remember what he did in those 24hours bc as soon as he went home he crashed for nearly 32hours straight

Tyson and Ray who were present at the time refuse to speak about it and when asked about it, they kinda just. disassociate for a minute at the sheer horror they had witnessed

Kai rarely ever communicates with classmates yet somehow gets always invited to all the frat parties

i really really REALLY liked this drama and it’s one of the two bl dramas (not counting the untamed) i’ve given a full 10/10 rating on mdl because it’s THAT good

everything about this drama is just.. chef’s kiss i love it i will probably rewatch it when my plan to watch is empty but it’s a pretty long list so.. hopefully i’ll ignore that and just rewatch sjkfhslf

i’ll of course watch kiss and kiss me again just for the petekao, the squad and rain scrumbs because i’m sure that the petekao compilations don’t show everything

but yeah im just.. i love this show it’s been a rlly long time since i started writing this but i’m still happy because it’s so good and truly gave us a good happy ending and i swear i cannot emphasise enough how important good happy endings in lgbt media are!!!!!!!!!!

Welp since I’m being forced to take a break from studying I guess now would be the perfect time to continue writing fic. I think yall are really gonna like the stuff I’ve been working on. I’m gonna save this ship or die trying.

The royal AU is going to to my longest fic, maybe (including the multichaptered ones). 1192 words and it’s not even half finished yet.

Cross My Heart could potentially be great if I could just quit it with the unintentional cliches. The first chapter is TECHNICALLY finished (750 words) but I just want it to be a little longer. However... since I haven’t found a way to expand on it yet I’ll prob just make that the intro and start all over with a new chapter 1. I mean... yeah, the way I wrote it would absolutely make more sense as an intro... yup, thats what im gonna do.

The college au ficspired by my real life college experiences/observations...trust me, with my tv show worthy, drama filled, almost hallmark-like life THIS is definitely going to turn out amazing. Still havent figured out if it’s going to be a collection of oneshots or if it’s gonna be a multi chapter fic that i somehow figure out a way to bridge together, but...yeahhhh. Also!!! It’s still unnamed and that REALLY bothers me. Also I have no idea whether to set it at a school I’m familiar with (one that I’ve actually been to so it feels more comfortable to write) or if I should pick somewhere else and attempt to make it up as I go along. So that’s prob gonna take me even longer to finish the first part to the series.

College AU in which Allison, Derek, Lydia, and Jordan are all suitemates. And Derek recruits Allison to help him set Lydia up with his best friend since childhood. Will absolutely have lots of platonic darrish and I’m restraining from hinting at romantic dallison like I didn’t even know I shipped it until I started writing this fic and it accidentally made its way into my work. (SPOILER ALERT: It was going to be flirty dallison realizing they liked each other more than they thought while trying to make marrish realize their fate together. But I don’t even know. I want it to be totally marrish but wow that dallison was really great.)

I was working on that hurricane marrish fic where Lydia was away at college and Jordan decided to visit her so she didn’t have to be alone during the storm. Because they may have only been best friends but he was secretly in love with her and though he knew nothing would happen, he’d much rather know she was safe and had someone by her side because when has a hurricane ever been fun tbh. Also Lydia LOVES greeting Jordan with “deputy”

Old Flames & New Loves, which I’m considering renaming. Jordan mistaking his old high school sweetheart and his childhood best friend for being in a relationship and he gets jealous but he also wants Lydia to be happy even if it IS with his best friend so he’s all conflicted. Happy on the outside, putting on the performance of a lifetime YET internally screaming bc wtf does derek think he’s doing with the one girl jordan had ever loved in his life but also he knows he has no right to say anything since he and lydia broke up 10 years prior *cries*

Lydia, who doesn’t believe in love, meeting her son’s friend’s father and instantly being intrigued by the handsome stranger and slowly realizing it wouldn’t be so bad to fall in love again if it’s with the right person.

I was also writing an au/headcanon before season 5 ended about the hellhound and the beast being cousins. The hellhound and the beast were close as kids until the hellhound had to keep cleaning up the beast’s messes and season 5 was all about the hellhound being tired of picking up the beast’s slack and decided to put an end to this once and for all but Lydia was tired of all the bickering between the two because they were supposed to be family so she made it a point to make the two reconcile all while ending the beast’s temper tantrum. Buuuut I’m not so sure I want to continue since s5 ended so long ago. Would you guys want this??

I still have to finish that fake relationship fic I was writing (to forge & to hold) about Jordan trying to trick his rich, overbearing mother into thinking that he and Lydia are dating. But not only does she not like Lydia (I WAS THINKING ABOUT MONSTER IN LAW WHEN I WROTE THAT PART, OKAY?? lol), but she also doesn’t believe their charade. Because Jordan, who has been in love with his roommate/best friend from the beginning keeps being weird about the whole situation lol especially bc his mother and “gf” just cant seem to get along like ever

Derek is happy. Draeden is real, yet they’re only being hinted at, so we can focus on marrish without another ship getting clustered into the main plot

The Boy Next Door only needs one or two more chapters. Lydia moves into her new neighborhood and is immediately intrigued by Jordan, the man living next door, and his young daughter. Originally was a Secret Santa gift, but I turned it into what I hoped would only be 4 chapters but is looking closer to about 6 or 7
