You mention that Argyle and Eden were a goofy depiction of love at first sight to show that the notion of love at first sight is goofy in and of itself but fail to mention that Mike SAW them. He saw them "fall" at first sight and immediately go hot and heavy, he saw that. And asking Will to be his friend, that was the best thing he's ever done. And when you're in kindergarten it feels like love at first sight, you're IMMEDIATELY best friends. Mike thinks that's how he's supposed to feel about El. And he knows he doesn't, so he lied about how he feels about the day they met.

okay one more before i pass out because i'm thinking about it JDNFHDJEJAN Lysandre does not think of silva as a Human or even a living thing that has an Identity. so in every situation he thinks of her as 'it'...except, for when he's literally interacting with her or close enough for her to sort of "pick up" on him directing his thoughts and intentions at her.

in the drabble series i've been writing, the only time he uses she/her in reference to silva is when he's interacting with her. examples of him seeing her in the forest, later again offering her food, then after she's had her first treatments. lysandre is purposefully shifting his thoughts because as much as he doesn't think of her having an identity, he does sort of think of her as more of a pokemon than a person--pokemon are far more adept to how those around them are thinking. their intentions, emotions. he has to adjust how he thinks, however temporarily, to assure that she doesn't catch onto those false attitudes.

"life doesnt get better, you just get stronger" does NOT include ages 11-17. life does in fact just get better from there. those years are dogshit. like, you do get stronger but its mostly just a factor of not being 11-17 anymore. positive thinking helps but it doesnt fix whatevers going on at 15, you have to brute force through that one raw
