Matchmaking Harringtons 2
Diane wanted to ask more about Steve's interaction with the cashier, but she remembered being a youngin. The more questions she asked, the more Steve would close up. She didn't know what her husband had said to get things started, but clearly they needed a different angle.
She said as much that evening as she and Jonas got ready for bed. He protested, as she knew he would, but it was her turn now.
So right away the next day, she returned to the mall, hoping Steve's intended would be there. And to her luck, he was.
"Hello, hi", she waved as she approached the counter.
"Hi. Did you need help finding anything?"
"Oh no, not really", Diane said. "You see...", she looked to his name tag. "Eddie, I don't know if you remember but yesterday my husband and I were here with our son, Steve?"
Eddie's cheeks got red and his mouth turned to a straight line. Diane would take that as a good sign.
"We really want Steve to find someone special", Diane said in a low voice, leaning in a bit. "Now I don't know what my husband told you, but I'm here to give you a bit of advice."
"Advice....on getting a date...with your son?", Eddie said slowly as if speaking to an alien.
"Yes. Now here's our number. Call today, we'll make sure he answers. And ask him out."
"Your son? On a date?"
"You've got to be assertive, really make use of this...", Diane gestured to his whole being, "alternative look you've got going. Steve's never dated anyone like you so I'm sure he'll get a thrill having a taste of rebellion."
Eddie smirked as he took the paper with the number written on it. "Getting permission to be rebellious kind of takes the fun out of it. Uh, where should I take him?"
"Some place where he'll get a real rush of danger", Diane suggested.
"A dive bar?"
"He's not of drinking age yet and I am still his mother. I've got to act the part." Diane had definitely drunk underage, but her parents didn't know about it. She was pretty certain Steve had partaken while hanging with his friends. But as long as she didn't see it, she could play dumb. "Where do you and your friends normally hang around?"
"Dive bars", Eddie answered.
Diane pursed her lips as she thought of the best course of action. "I've got it. You're going to say you're taking him out to dinner. But when you pick him up, you'll actually be taking him out to a movie."
Eddie was silent as he did the mental math. Tell the parents one thing, but do another, thus the rush of rebellion. Dinner was public and respectable. But two young folks could fool around in a dark theater. It was honestly something he might try to do.
"Okay, I asked your hubbie yesterday if this is entrapment and I just need to ask again."
"Our Steve is a good boy. He...just has trouble holding onto someone. We don't know if it's him or the girls. We just want him to find someone special."
"...How special? Like, should I be making room on my hand?", he asked, wiggling his ring covered fingers.
"Not that special. Just enough to get him on the right track."
Eddie looked down to the number, then this strange woman again. He braced his hands against the counter and took in a deep breath. "Alright. I'm a gambling man. My break's at noon. I'll call him then."
"Wonderful. And whatever you do, don't tell him that we came to you."
"I don't even know how to begin that conversation", Eddie admitted.
-------------------
Diane was staring at the phone like she was the one waiting for a date to call. Jonas and Steve were watching a game on the tv and she was practically guarding the phone, using dirty dishes as an excuse. When it started to ring, she bit her lip to keep from smiling too much.
"Steve, sweetie, can you get that? My hands are wet."
"Got it", Steve said, picking up the phone on the third ring. "Hello, Harrington residence."
Diane was pretty much just pretending to do the dishes at this point, eavesdropping on Steve's side of the conversation the best she could without looking obvious. She fought the urge to jump for joy when she heard Steve confirm that he would be seeing the caller this Friday at 7.
"Alright. See you then", Steve said, the cord twirled around his finger. "Bye."
He hung up the phone, a dreamy smile on his face and Diane knew that look for sure but she reigned in her own expression. She was about to ask but Jonas beat her to it.
"Who was on the phone?", he called out.
"Oh, um, it was...", Steve was clearly debating how much to tell them, if anything. He took a breath as he decided to trust them. "It was that guy from the music place. He wants to grab a bite this weekend."
"Grab a bite, huh?", Jonas sat up a bit in his chair.
"Yes. Just a little something, we'll probably go to Benny's or whatever", Steve crossed his arms like he always did when he was trying to downplay something.
He then quickly excused himself to go up to his room and Diane dried her hands off for real. She went over to Jonas and nudged him, then nodded to the stairs.
"What woman? I'm not psychic."
"Go and listen. I bet you anything he's calling a friend right now to tell about the date."
"Are we really dropping eaves on our son now?"
"Go and listen!", she whispered urgently.
Taking his sweet time, Jonas got up and crept up the stairs. Steve's door was closed of course, but when he put an ear to the door, he could hear him walking about the room and talking to someone on the line in his room.
When he figured he'd heard enough, he came back downstairs to report to his wife.
"Well?"
"He's talking to that one girl he never dated, Robin?"
"About Eddie?"
Jonas nodded. Apparently the other day, Steve thought he didn't make the best impression on him when buying the music. He thought he came off as boring compared to Eddie. So he was surprised to get his call.
Diane couldn't help but be a little smug. Now the ball was rolling.
-----------------------
Saturday night was here and at 7 o'clock sharp, the Harringtons heard a loud engine enter their driveway. Steve came downstairs but instead of going to the door, went to the bathroom and did a final check in the mirror as the bell rang.
Jonas opened the door and got a load of date night Eddie. The ripped jeans were still there. But now instead of the uniform shirt and name tag, he was wearing a t-shirt that Jonas was just guessing had album art on it and a ratty denim vest.
"Evening Mr. Harrington. Is Steve ready yet?"
"I am", Steve said, appearing behind his dad.
"You two have fun at the diner. Have him back by 11", Diane said as she saw them off.
Jonas was oddly quiet the whole time. Diane just waited him out, knowing he'd announce any opinions he had once they were alone. In fact the moment he closed the door, he turned to her.
"How sure are we about Eddie?"
"Oh here we go. Were we so sure about Chloe? Or Mary Lee?"
"I just thought he might clean up a little more for a date, that's all."
"The important thing is that Steve likes him."
They spent their evening, drinking some wine and watching a movie. But they made sure to be up in their room before it got too late. They wanted the boys to have just a smidge of privacy when they returned.
All the lights were off when they heard that roaring engine come back at 11:15.
"They're late", Jonas said. "That's a good sign."
Diane smiled. They were both listening hard for any sort of sound that might tell them how the night went. They heard the front door open. It was about two minutes before it actually closed. Another good sign. Steve tiptoed up the stairs but in the quiet of the night and them holding their breath, he was easily heard.
The door to his room closed and Diane gripped Jonas' arm tight. "Do you think it went well?"
"Are you gonna go knock on his door and ask? Or should we tap his phone line this time?" Jonas chuckled at his wife's pout. "We'll hear about it in due time. Good night, Di."
"Good night."
They both settled in, officially this time. If things kept going well like this, they'd be inviting Eddie over to dinner soon.
Part 4
Don't worry, we're gonna get some actual steddie focus soon. And Jonas still needs to warm up to Eddie all the way.

“I cannot believe that you got us tickets for the Era's tour!” Wanda jumps on your lap excitedly.
You grin because you're proud of yourself for making her so happy. When the tour was announced, Wanda made a small remark about wanting to go but doubtful that she would be able to. Every time a Taylor Swift song played in the car and she was singing it as loud as she could, never missing a lyric, you thought about getting her those tickets. Unfortunately, after being in the trenches of the presale and living in the ticket queue from hell, you were unable to get tickets on your own. So, after you and Wanda started to explore your relationship more, you decided to go to the one person you tried to avoid for this. Your dad.
He isn't a bad guy, he just doesn't want it to get in your head that everything in life will be handed to you. So, everything you ask for from him comes at his price. Which makes you not want to ask things from him. Luckily, when you asked for the tickets, he handed them over with no conditions at all. He told you that you work hard everyday and that he sees it and appreciates it.
“I’m happy I can take you,” you say as you lean in for a kiss. But Wanda abruptly moves away from you and jumps off of the bed.
“Oh my goodness, I have to figure out what to wear! It's too late to make a costume!”
“A costume? What?” you ask yourself quietly as Wanda continues to pace your room frantically while rambling.
“Damnit, there's no time for friendship bracelets! Well, maybe I can do a couple. Oh! I can get Y/n to help me,” Wanda talks to herself.
You rise from your bed next, “Why are we making friendship bracelets?”
“Because it's a Swiftie thing! We can't go there without bracelets!!” Wanda says in a panic.
“Woah, I thought this was supposed to be a fun thing,” you say as you lower her arms from the air.
Wanda takes a breath to calm down and smiles at you. “It will be fun, babe. But part of the fun is trading friendship bracelets, going in outfits that represent our eras, and knowing when to shout lyrics that she doesn't include in her performance.” She wraps her arms around your neck as she talks and you place your hands on her hips.
“Okay, I suppose I don't mind helping with the bracelets. Um, what era are we in? So I know what to look for.” You ask, unsure what she even means by an era.
“Lover, of course,” Wanda answers simply and she kisses your lips.
“I know that, but what does that look like?” You laugh as you misunderstand.
Wanda tilts her head to the side as if she's reading your mind. “Lover is the seventh album which is the album that probably represents us best. So you can look up the image of the cover to get a sense of the colors but we'll basically look like a unicorn threw up on us.”
“Perfect, I have a unicorn onesie in my closet I'm pretty sure. Will that work?”
“Oh you poor thing,” Wanda shakes her head. “Forget the movie. Looks like our date is going to be a shopping trip. Grab your wallet and keys, let's go!”
“Alright,” you say as you grab your things and get your shoes on. This is not what you thought giving her tickets would result in. You thought maybe at least a blowjob, not a shopping trip.
The two of you start at the craft store in the mall and grab the necessary items for the bracelets. “Hey, maybe I'll make one with my number and throw it on the stage,” you say jokingly. Hoping to maybe get a rise out of Wanda, but instead she turns to you with wide eyes.
“We’re going to be close to the stage?” She says in shock.
You shake your head, “No, sorry, we're going to be in my family's box at the stadium. We'll be secluded from everyone.”
She shoves your shoulder, “Don't play with me like that!”
“Ow!” you laugh. “So let me get this straight. You're not mad I made a comment about trying to hook up with Taylor, but you're mad I made a joke about getting you close enough to do it?” Wanda nods. “I don't know what hurts more, my shoulder or my heart,” you pout dramatically.
“Oh don't be so dramatic. I trust you and I know you were only joking,” she gives you a kiss on the lips and you feel better. “Besides, I know that given the chance, you'd invite me and honestly, I wouldn't mind.” Your eyes widen a bit at Wanda admitting to you that she wouldn't turn down a threesome with you and her favorite musician. “I think I'm good with this stuff. Did you see any colors you wanted?” You shake your head as you look around and follow her to the checkout counter.
Next, the two of you go clothes shopping. “Are you sure I don't already own something that will fit the theme?” You ask as you drag your feet through the isles.
“I've known you for years, baby, trust me. I know what's in your closet.” She stops at a tie-dye crew neck and looks it over a few times before moving on. At the end of the shopping trip, you have a new outfit for the show that consists of a short button up shirt with multiple pastel colors on it. Plus a new pair of light blue shorts. And sunglasses with a clear frame and rainbow lenses. She didn't make you buy a new pair of shoes because she said you already own an acceptable pair.
“Don’t you need an outfit?” You ask as you near the exit of the mall. Wanda laughs loudly as if you said the funniest thing ever.
“You’re cute, babe. I have an outfit for this, don't worry that pretty little head of yours,” she kisses you on the lips. You're happy to have her lips on yours. She is so addicting.
“I like how you keep calling me 'babe.' I thought you didn't like pet names like that,” you point out.
“I don't, but I know that you do and it's kind of growing on me, babe,” she pulls you for another kiss. “Let's get back to the house so I can thank you properly.” You hum in excitement as you try to pry yourself away from Wanda. Once you do, the two of you rush through the mall until a shop catches your eye. You've been wanting to bring Wanda to the shop for some time now.
“Come on,” you say as you pull her to the small shop full of novelty items. You take her all the way to the back where they have their adult toys.
“What are we doing back here?” She looks around frantically for a moment until her eyes land on the package that reads, Clone a Willy. “Oh, I could definitely use this.”
You make a face as you look at the box, “What’s that?”
“You make a mold out of your dick and I get a vibrator out of it so when we're apart, I can still have you with me,” the thought that she wants a vibrator version of your dick and not some random other type of dildo makes your cock twitch.
“Oh, wow,” you look at the container and read the directions. “Yeah, we can do this. Not today though.”
“Yes!” Wanda smiles as she takes it from your hand. “So, why did you bring me back here? Is this your way of telling me things are getting boring between us?” Her tone suggests that she is only joking but in her eyes you can sense the insecurity.
“No, it's not boring,” you put your hand under her chin and kiss her lips. “I was just thinking about exploring some of this stuff and was curious what you might be interested in. I also wanted to see if you might want to use,” you look around at the selection of vibrators until you find what you came here for, you grab it and hand it to her, “one of these things.” It's a vibrator that she puts inside of herself and you can keep the controller to use on her whenever you want. Wanda looks at it for a moment and her silence worries you. However, all she is thinking about is the endless possibilities. “They have pantie versions also if you don't want that,” you suggest next.
“Oh that sounds interesting,” she puts the package you handed her back on the wall and looks for the underwear set. “Wow, you know me so well,” she says as she finds a set she likes. “As much as I like the idea, I feel like it might be a tad unfair.”
You consider what she might be suggesting and look at the wall to find something that you could use. “I don't see any cock rings,” you reply.
“Why don't you get one of those? They're not that big,” she points to a little pink bullet and you shake your head rapidly.
“Nope, no way, not doing that,” you reject the idea of walking around with something up your ass. Wanda laughs at your reaction. She has played with your ass during sex a few times and you've liked it but when she made the suggestion of pegging you, you just couldn't wrap the idea around your head. You've had sex with a guy before and even then you didn't like the idea of receiving it.
“Okay fine, how about a pair of these?” She extends the box of the underwear and you aren't sure about it.
“I don't know, I feel like it'd give me a wedgie,” you say. Wanda looks in the wall again and spots a vibrator that you can add to any type of underwear and she hands it to you. “This looks like a big period pad,” you scoff.
“It's the best option you've got here. Unless you want to drop the whole thing,” she shrugs.
“Alright, alright, I'll do it,” you agree. “Come on, let's go check out.”
Finally, back at the house, you call out to your parents to see if either of them are home and you're relieved to find a note on the counter claiming that your dad had a business meeting in Europe and your mom had negotiations to make in D.C. You have the house to yourself once again. You drop the shopping bags and pull Wanda into a kiss in the middle of the kitchen.
Wanda wraps her arms around you as she responds just as eager. You put your hands on her hips and lift her onto the kitchen island. “I love you,” you say as you bring your lips down to her neck. Wanda still hasn't reciprocated those words and you haven't pressured her to do so. You're going at her pace. The two of you still haven't told anyone about the nature of your relationship. It was kind of hot having this secret.
You surprise Wanda as you pull her pants down to her knees. “Woah! Are you sure you want to do that right here?” She tries to pull you up but you're fine where you are and once you lick her you kill any further questions or protests she might have. “I thought,” she gasps as you bring her close to a climax, “I was supposed to- Oh god! Be the thanking youuu, that's it! Right there! Oh yeah!” You look up at her as she pulls your head back by your hair and she shakes her head. “Not yet,” she says breathlessly. You nod and rock backwards until your butt touches the floor, the outline of your erection presents itself proudly. Wanda bites her lips at the sight.
“What do you want to do?” You ask as you lick her fluids off of your lips. Wanda grins as she pulls you up and she guides you to your bedroom. Making sure to bring the bag of toys with her.
Later that month you are uncomfortably adjusting the crotch area of your shorts as you stand in the crowd waiting to enter the stadium. “Stop that,” Wanda swats at your hand.
“Well it's not an easy adjustment,” you complain. Wanda sighs and rolls her eyes.
“This was your idea,” she reminds you in a whisper. “Besides, once we get to the box you won't even remember how much you hate it.”
“Or you'll crack first and I'll be able to take it off,” you tease, making Wanda scoff.
“Please, I'm very capable of holding off. I was a virgin for two decades, you however, couldn’t go a month without humping everything in sight once you hit puberty,” she fires back.
You scrunch your nose, “I feel like that first decade and a half shouldn’t count. You were a child and that’s illegal.”
“Fair point, but I still have four or five years less of experience than you,” she clarifies and you shrug because she's not wrong. “Meaning, I can hold out longer than you can.” Before you can respond, the line moves forward and you are having the tickets scanned and are being escorted to the private stadium box.
There are snacks and an assortment of the merchandise that you would’ve otherwise had to stand in line forever waiting for. You certainly didn't do all of this and you're surprised that it's there at all until you notice a card addressed to you. Without allowing Wanda to see it, you read it and your cheeks and neck redden from embarrassment.
The note is from your father stating, “Enjoy your date, I'm happy that you and Wanda are together just… please, keep it in the bedroom. There aren't any cameras in there. Love, Dad.”
“What's that?” Wanda’s voice makes you jump and you rip the note.
“It's nothing, just my dad being you know, my dad. He suspects that this is more than a friendly gesture. Always thinking I have that Stark charm he claims used to have every supermodel and actress in his bed,” you joke as you don't completely lie to her but if she knew the truth, Wanda would be completely mortified. There are more times than you can count on both hands and feet that you've given each other head in a common area of the house. At least it was only ever giving head or hand jobs and some fingering outside of the bedroom.
You hold your breath as you wait to see if she bought the lie. “Oh, well, it was nice of him to arrange all of this. Really, the two of you have outdone yourselves. I really don't deserve all of this.” She wraps her arms around your neck and kisses your lips. “Thank you,” she says before going in for another kiss. You feel yourself start to be affected by her kiss and you have to step away. You couldn't lose this bet.
“How has the willy been working out for you?” You ask as you walk over to the bar to make yourself a drink.
“Mmm I think it might be better than the real thing,” she says teasingly.
You shake your head, “If that were true, you'd have broken up with me already.”
“Well, the willy can't arrange a set up like this, so you still have that going for you,” Wanda starts to head towards you and that's when you activate her vibrator with your phone. “That's not mhm, that's not fair.” You turn off the panties with a smirk. That falls as soon as she activates the vibrating pad that is attached to your boxers.
You take a deep breath and close your eyes for a moment as you think of the image that has killed your boners for decades. The image of Jabba the Hutt. Then you open your eyes and continue to serve yourself.
“What the fuck?” Wanda asks as she turns the device off.
You shrug, “I've been playing videogames for years next to you. I have a dick, Wanda. I've had to learn how to kill boners around you for about as long as we've known each other.”
Wanda shakes her head. She narrows her eyes and turns in the intensity on the device. This one is a little more difficult to stop the physical reaction so you turn up the intensity on her panties as well. Wanda almost topples over and turns off your device. “Ok! Ok! I surrender!” You shut off the panties and the both of you are left trying to catch your breaths as you stare at each other from across the room. You can smell her arousal from where you stand and she can see your bulge from her spot.
“What would you like to drink?” You ask as you finish pouring your drink. Wanda asks for just a water and you toss her a bottle. Not wanting to get close to her in your current condition. The opening act hasn't even gone on yet.
The two of you give each other time to cool off and enjoy watching the opening act. You don't tease her as much but she does have her hand on your thigh. She traces shapes and you have to control yourself. Refraining from moving her hand into your pants. Then the main event starts and she moves away from you completely as you watch her change into a person you don't recognize. Taylor Swift comes out onto the stage and it has Wanda screaming the lyrics at the top of her lungs.
“IT'S THE LOVER ERA!! STAND UP!!” She shouts as she pulls you up to start dancing with her. “I'M DRUNK IN THE BACK OF THE CAR!” You laugh as you opt to stand behind her and wrap your arms around her to sway with her.
You kiss her cheek and to her neck as the song changes. Having her body pressed against yours has it reacting almost instantly and she smirks as she feels your boner poking her ass. “Are you giving up so soon?”
You shake your head. “You're silly. Just because my willy is saying hi to you, doesn't mean you win yet.”
Wanda bursts out laughing. Then she hears the notes to another favorite song and her personality switches again. You laugh as you let her enjoy the moment. You try to step away but she keeps you close to her. She wants to experience the concert in your arms.
At certain songs you know that turn her on because she shared her “ovulation” playlist with you and taught you what that was code for. You would use the vibrating panties on her. She would just moan softly and bite her lips. Then she'd kiss your cheek and thank you.
You couldn't believe how strong she was in this challenge. You were impressed. But you didn't want to lose. If she won, then the two of you would continue to keep this relationship a secret. If you won, you were finally allowed to scream it to the rooftops that you were with her.
By the time the concert was coming to an end, the both of you were close to cumming. Nearly three hours of edging each other, you knew that you'd explode the second you entered her. If you lasted long enough to enter her.
At the “Vigilante Shit” chair routine, both of you lost your minds. “You should learn that dance,” you muttered to her with a tight voice. Wanda nodded, she was too wound up to say anything. She feared the only words that she could articulate in the moment was,“fuck me.”
“Oh fuck it,” you finally said as you pulled you zipper down and moved her panties aside and entered her without much warning. “You win,” you said behind her as you pumped inside of her.
“Finally,” she said as she let out the breath she'd been holding. She gripped the counter in front of her. The two of you eventually moved further back to the suite and shut off the lights to be able to hide just in case something like this happened.
You fucked her roughly. You were typically very gentle with her. But the pent up sexual tension released an animalistic tendency you didn't know you had inside of you. Wanda made no protests as she started to hold onto you. As the confetti ended the concert, you shot rope after rope into Wanda’s warm pussy. Painting her walls white.
“Fucking hell,” you groaned as you head fell against her back. Then you started laughing. Wanda couldn't help but join you.
“What's so funny?” She asked breathlessly.
“People are probably posting videos of being proposed to or all of their innocent experiences and here we are. It's just. It's funny,” you try to explain.
Wanda shrugs, “It's not uncommon to fuck at a concert. How many stories do you hear that someone was conceived at some concert?”
You smirk as you face her, “Do you think we'll be telling that kind of story?” You pull your limp dick out of her and shove it back into your pants. You cover her dripping pussy with her underwear.
Wanda shakes her head and bites her lips as she walks around to grab her things to get ready to leave. “As much as I would love an Era's Tour baby and as much as you'd like to believe you have super sperm, no. I'm pretty sure modern medicine still has you beat.” She pats your chest. “Let's get going. I kind of want you to eat me out. That was a lot of cum, I loved it.”
“Yes ma'am,” you salute her as you grab your things and brace yourself to face the crowded halls once again.
The End.

𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓. maki zenin
ৎ୭ PAIRING: maki zenin x f!reader (she/her pronouns, afab anatomy)
ৎ୭ ABOUT: having maki as a girlfriend is to be treated like a spoiled princess! nothing but the best for her favorite girl.
ৎ୭ CW/TW: SFW. no-curses au, maki is kind of despised by the zenin clan but she still has A LOT of money, this is like a sugar mommy fantasy im not gonna lie but with TONS of affection and no sex. reader is the daughter of a lesser family. everyone is around 21-26. reader is not exactly a bimbo, but i wrote that thinking about a bimbo-way of acting. this is kinda of nonsensey?
ৎ୭ A/N: english is not my first language and I wanted to write about Maki buying stuff to her gf. this is my first time posting anything I write, im sorry!! i hope you like it.
Tumblr media
MAKI is used to disobeying zenin clan's orders. she owes them nothing, and never will. despite her insistence on breaking the rules, they refuse to let her out of the gilded cage that is this family. so she makes things difficult for them.
she thought things couldn't really get good. that even with her eternal struggle, she would still be forever subjected to a putrid rockbottom with no escape. no light, no guiding star. there's when you show up.
the first time she sees you is at a diamond viewing party. of course, a jewel auction for the three clans to squander their wealth, but also for the heirs — the real diamonds — to come forward and form bonds. if not for the arranged marriage, then for the fun and drinking. the illusion of choice gleaming in the eyes of those naive ones makes maki's stomach turn.
most heirs are annoying. she has no idea where mai is (and frankly, she couldn't care less), the youngest boy of the kamo clan is being annoying. everyone is completely stressing her out, not realizing it's all lambs heading to the slaughter. in their lives there is no real life or joy. they will enjoy their families' dirty money, but they won't be happy. everyone is pretending everything is fine, and it's getting on maki's nerves.
so, she grabs a glass of champagne from a waiter's tray and leaves the party, her feet leading her to the most secluded place in the house: the garden. only issue is, you had the same idea. sitting on an elegant bench and surrounded by flowers, there's you. it looks like a damn movie scene, she thinks when her heart skips a bit. you don't seem willing to put on a mask to please your family either, if you're sitting on a cold night alone in an elegant garden.
she can see you're trying not to shiver, but the sleeveless dress they've chosen doesn't help against the biting cold. at least the zenin gave her a white (fake) fur coat courtesy. then she walks over, takes the fur off her shoulders and puts it on yours. you look up at her, frowning. you look cute when you frown, she thinks.
“you're going to freeze to death here. keep the coat, I don't need it.” she says simply, sitting beside you without asking. but she didn't need to ask. you were happy.
maki took a sip of champagne, and you took a moment to study her. the black dress hugged her curves and showed off her muscles well. she had an aura of confidence, her hair shorter than most women's. it looked like she'd been through hell and come out stronger. though, you thought, not even Dante could have written such a beautiful, angelic figure.
“so, i'm Maki.” she introduces herself with a smile. you smile back at her. “and you are?”
and that's how it started — the gateway to her paradise.
maki hangs up the phone without a second thought. she doesn't care which idiot wants to marry her. she has everything she needs right here, now, in front of her. she wants to focus on that. you're in an expensive mall coffee shop, finishing your orders when she gets the call. another marriage proposal, another refusal.
Tumblr media
“Maki?” your soft voice pull her out of her thoughts. it's like being called by an angel. because that's what you are. her angel. “are you alright?”
“yes, darling, don't worry.” she gives you a reassuring smile and moves her hand to rest over yours on the table. it makes you smile and one day, she swears she's going to combust over your smile. it is the most important smile of her life, the smile she will protect without hesitation. “is the coffee good, angel?”
the petname makes you flustered. you nod, sipping on the coffee. it's the kind of stupidly expensive store, even for a coffee shop. the seats are comfortable and the food is simply delicious. your girlfriend loves to spoil you, after all.
“yes! it's so nice.”
“perfect, dear. do you wanna go to that clothing store after you're done with your food?”
Tumblr media
maki can go a little overboard sometimes, but spending money on your favorite things is her way of her showing love. gift giving. moreover, it's an excuse for her to see you trying on nice clothes, feeling good, turning around to show her the extent of the fabric. to her eyes and her eyes only.
the store is so fancy, and has every kind of dress, and it's perfect. she totally let go of her schedule, because no matter how many boring meetings the zenin want her to lead — sitting on a comfortable fancy sofa and watching you twirl in cute dresses is a much better way of spending her time.
“Maki, look! this one is so pretty!” the dress you show her, your favorite color, is amazing on you.
maki is sprawled out in the elegant sofa with light-tone pillows. the whole appearance of the store makes her much more evident, the dark green hair and the black and white laid-back suit make her look powerful. but that's the fun in your dynamic: she's the resting bitch face girlfriend, and you're the one in a cute dress, spending her money like it was your own. because is. all of her is yours.
“yeah. it is.” she smiles softly, raising one of her arms and moving her index finger to call you. “babe, come here. you like this one, right?”
you nod, coming closer. god, you're so pretty, she can't help but think.
her heart is yours, completely in love with all the ways you act. her soul is intertwined with yours, fate decided to bring you together permanently, that's the feeling she has. she is absolutely and completely lost when it comes to you — no one can take her love like you do. and nobody can love her like you do.
maki holds the hem of the dress, feeling the fabric between her hands. she meticulously evaluates, but her biggest focus is on your smile, your happiness — and of course, the dress actually looks great on you. it's a perfect win-win: you look comfortable and pretty.
“so let's take this one too and a couple others. pick whatever you want.” she moves her head to look for an employee. next to your girlfriend, on the same sofa, there is already a pile of dresses of your size. “excuse me, my girlfriend wants to see more dresses like this.”
she says the title with possession, smirking. she grabs one of your hands and bring it close to her mouth, pressing a kiss to the back of your hand.
“anything else you like, angel? buy anything you want. we'll be using my card.”
anything for her favorite girl.

part one part two part three part four
Eddie’s skin is starting to itch. It’s been two weeks since the night Lucas called him, begging Eddie to hang out with Steve so he could take Max to the movies without a chaperone. The night in Eddie’s trailer had been great, honestly. Better than Eddie ever could have expected. Steve was cool and he had a lot of opinions about things. Talking to him was fun in a way that Eddie hadn’t expected. He let Eddie tease him, but he gave just as good as he got. He didn’t take himself too seriously. Eddie liked that in a friend.
Eddie had, of course, had a crush on Steve before the events of Spring Break. He could admit it now. Any living, breathing, red-blooded American teenager with a lick of sense would have. Eddie wasn’t stupid and he certainly wasn’t blind. He’d seen Steve in that stupid little uniform back when he’d worked at the mall. But it was more of a “look how pretty he is from a distance because you’re certainly never going to touch” crush grounded in very realistic expectations than a “wow he’s so amazing and sweet and protective and really kind of funny and yeah, wow, okay, this is going to kill me when it crashes and burns” type of crush.
Eddie hadn't felt particularly guilty about the whole “hanging out with Steve for money” situation--or Operation: Distract the Babysitter as Mike and Lucas had taken to calling it--mostly because he’d been hanging out with Steve in group settings. His job had been solely to distract Steve so the kids could go off and do their own thing. But the kids had been calling in their favors for one-on-one hangout sessions more and more frequently in the past few weeks, ever since Lucas has told them how successful his Saturday night at the movies had been (and Eddie had tried very hard to tune that particular conversation out). But taking money from the little assholes and distracting Steve during trips to the arcade and days at the mall was a lot different than taking their money to orchestrate solo movie nights in his own trailer or smoke sessions in Steve’s bedroom. He was starting to feel a little dirty about it and not the fun kind of dirty, either.
That didn’t necessarily mean he was going to stop though. He still wanted to hang out with Steve and he was using the money to finance their hangouts; sometimes Mike’s allowance bought them a six-pack, sometimes Lucas’s lawn-mowing change got them more pretzels at the arcade. It made the whole situation feel just a little more ethical. At least that’s what he told himself.
Eddie thought he could maybe get away with it. He thought maybe soon he’d tell the kids to keep their money. He’d only wanted to teach them a lesson anyway. But it was so easy to take their cash. It was like taking candy from a baby. They were so stupid and so lame about it too. He doesn’t really see a reason to stop yet.
At least, he doesn’t until Robin corners him one afternoon in the back of Family Video while Steve is on his break. He’d run over to the convenient store across the street just before Eddie had pulled up in his van.
“What’s this I hear about you taking money from the kids?” Robin asks him, scowling as she says it. She’s got one finger pointed directly at the center of his chest and Eddie can see her knuckles going white at how tightly she’s clenching her fist.
“Uh, not sure what you mean, Robs.” Eddie isn’t stupid. He knows the first rule of getting accused of anything, regardless of guilt, is deny, deny, deny, unless and until evidence is found against you. And even then, only stop denying when the evidence is really convincing. His skin feels tight around his collarbones and he can feel sweat breaking out across his back.
“Don’t pull that shit with me, Munson.” Eddie doesn’t think he’s ever heard Robin sound like this, a mix of irritation and frustration, something protective in the way she stands in front of him. “Nancy heard Mike talking on the phone with El. What’s this whole thing you’re doing with Steve?”
Eddie swallows, but his throat is dry. “I really don’t know what you mean. Seriously. We’re just hanging out.”
“So you’re not taking money from the kids. You’re just friends with Steve.” She doesn’t even say it like a question and that, for some reason, makes Eddie feel like a particularly low life form, like he’s something she’d scrape off the bottom of her shoe. She crosses her arms over her chest and her expression makes it clear that she isn’t buying a word that Eddie says.
He tries to swallow again. He doesn’t think he’s felt this nervous since he landed in an alternate dimension back in March. “Listen.” He holds his hands up in front of his chest in mock surrender. “The kids just asked me to hang with Steve. To distract him. He’s been hovering, I guess. I know he’s worried. But they just want him to back off a little. Relax. He deserves to relax.” His voice comes out soft towards the end. He thinks that Robin must hear the blatant affection in his voice, the feelings that he couldn’t even hide if he tried, because her stance loosens. The scowl turns into a frown. He doesn’t even let himself feel embarrassed for what he’s clearly revealed to her. He’ll agonize over it later.
“Yeah, he’s been a bit... clingy since. Well, everything,” she admits. “I mean, understandably. But he does deserve some down time.”
Eddie nods. “And look,” he says. “I like hanging out with him. He’s awesome. And the little twerps deserve to have their money stolen from them.”
Robin looks sharply at him. “You have to tell him.”
“Rob...” Eddie starts, but he doesn’t know how to finish. He knows she’s right. Steve deserves to know.
Before either of them can say anything else, the front door opens wide and Steve comes walking through with a bag of chips and a soda in his hand.
“Eddie, hey!” Steve greets him with a blinding grin, genuinely pleased to see him, even though they’d hung out just the night before, smoking a joint between the two of them in the cool air out by Steve’s pool so Mike could take El out to the diner for ice cream.
Eddie can’t help but return the smile as Steve makes his way around the front counter. Robin and Eddie are still in the back corner of the store, by the horror section where Eddie had been browsing while he’d waited for Steve to return.
Robin’s voice drops low when she whispers, “You have to tell him, Eddie. Not now, but soon. Please. He deserves to know. He likes you. He likes hanging out with you. You have to tell him.” She says it all in a rush, before turning back to the counter and making her way over to Steve. Eddie’s heart flutters for a moment at her words. He likes you. He likes hanging out with you. But then he looks over to where Steve is pulling a Snickers from his pocket, handing it to Robin and smiling down at her. You have to tell him. His heart plummets into his stomach, because Robin is right. Eddie has to tell Steve.

My night got a little derailed, so I can’t post the Empire Records AU I had planned for today, but! I wanted to give you all a lil something for Valentine’s Day, so here’s part four of the 10 Things I Hate About You AU <3 <3
I tried my best to proofread this, but I took some Benadryl and I was very much struggling with tense here for whatever reason, so please please please forgive me. Love you. Kiss you. Thank you.
Thank you all so so so much for your interest in this silly lil series. I’ve tagged everyone who has asked (I hope! Sorry if I missed you, I promise I did not mean to!) on the previous parts here, but after this part, I’m not going to do a taglist anymore (I’ll continue to copy and paste it from here, but won’t add anyone new). I appreciate the energy so much and I love that you guys love this and want to stay updated, but it’s really hard and time consuming and making sure everyone is tagged is giving me just a lil anxiety so I think I’ll be able to update faster if I don’t have to worry about it in the future. I hope you can understand! I think you can turn on post notifications if you want to see more; I always update previous parts with the new links :)
Hope you all enjoy this installment! A Robin appearance for the holiday :)

Pretty Girl
Two lovers working during summer break while having their own little fun and helping kids sneaking into the movies
♡Steve Harrington x f.reader ♡Small fluff & super short fic ♡Nicknames are used in this story ♡note: first fic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summer 1985
If someone told you two years prior that you would be dating Steve “The Hair” Harrington, King Steve, or King of Hawkins High, you would have never believed them without a doubt.
Yet here you are in his embrace as he kept on kissing your neck during your break time. In Scoops Ahoy. It was unbelievable.
Steve wanted you to work with him here during summer break since he would be lonely. And you can’t say no to the man you adore so much. You couldn’t babysit Dustin with him at summer camp anyway. But, Harrington decided to be affectionate with you during the time Robin, a friend of yours, is working at the counter.
Honestly, he changed immensely from how he was with his previous friends Tommy H. and Carol Perkins. He went from a jerk to in your opinion a great babysitter and mother.
He’ll never know you think that of him.
The feeling of his lips on your neck was warm and familiar. It was one of his favorite spots to kiss. If you got a dollar for every time he kissed you, you be pretty rich according to the Party’s definition of ‘rich’.
You wished that the moment would never end. You both have been through a lot in two years. From protecting some kids to being on the verge of death. And yet that’s what created a bond between you two which led to developing feelings and a relationship. You’ve been together for some time now.
“Steve, my break’s about to end…” You said in a low tone so that Robin wouldn’t hear you. It would not be the first time she caught you both red-handed. If your boss ever came to work here, you would have gotten fired alongside him.
“Relax pretty girl, I’ll be done in a second.” Your boyfriend responded with a nickname he gave you. It never failed to make you blush which Steve loved seeing.
Suddenly, the sliding window opened up with the face of Buckley appearing. You both jumped out of each other’s embrace as she let out a small disgusted sound for doing this in here. You still had a few minutes until break was over so Robin shouldn’t be calling you now.
You were flustered and standing behind Steve while he told her “Could’ve warned us first.”
“For your information, I called your names five times Steve, Y/n. Five.” Robin stated unamused which embarrassed you and surprised him for not hearing.
“Anyway, your children are here Dingus and Mrs. Harrington.” She continued teasing you in the last part as you looked at the counter to see Lucas, Max, Mike, and Will. Wheeler rings the bell at the counter continuously waiting for Steve and you to let them in the back.
“Again?” Steve said now his turn to be unamused as he stared at the four teens while leaning onto the counter of the window.
You let out a sigh as you went to the front and welcomed them in as usual. This was a secret between you all to let them get to the movie theater for free. These kids used your job to their advantage. They sure were a lovable pain in the ass.
Your lover went on and opened the back door for them to pass through. He then gave them his usual warning.
“I swear if anyone hears about this-“
“We’re dead.” The members of the Party completed on his behalf which led him to sigh and you chuckling at the interaction.
You and Steve watched as the kids walked away into the mall’s back corridors towards the theater like parents watching their kids leaving the house to go somewhere.
You smiled as you remembered how they looked like 1983 and 1984 compared to now. They grew up fast. To fast. You wished that they had gotten a better childhood. Not one where you had to go defeat some threat to save Hawkins.
This is the least you could do for them.
Steve noticed you in deep thoughts and frowning a bit. He immediately knew what you were thinking about and grabbed your hand reassuring you that everything would be alright.
“There’s no more danger love. We closed the gate. No more Upside Down, Demogorgon, or demo-dog.” He told you as he placed a kiss on your temple making you melt under his touch. This guy never failed to put a smile on your face.
Still charismatic as ever.
Maybe being in grave danger isn’t that bad. After all, you both would have never interacted with each other.
“You think Dustin’s gonna be back soon?” You asked him since you both did miss his presence.
“Maybe,” Steve said while shrugging his shoulders.
“Well, do you think he got a girlfriend during his time in summer camp?” You asked while also expecting a ‘no’. You wouldn’t believe it either anyway. If he did get one, it was probably his imagination.
“Not in a thousand chances,” Steve said also hardly believing the possibility.
You nodded and decided to try something. You planted a small peck on his cheek which caught him off guard. He decided to continue with a kiss on the lips dropping the subject of Dustin while saying “Love you, pretty girl.”
“I love you too Harrington.” You said as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
“Y/n! Break’s over so stop kissing each other and get over here!” Robin yelled out loudly for you to hear leading to a chuckle.
“Coming!” You yelled back as you pulled away from your boyfriend’s kiss and dragged him back inside Scoops Ahoy as he made a sad face making you laugh.
God, you wished that you could stay every minute of your life with the man of your life.

The hot blaring sun hit your eyes as you held Sarahs hand navagating through the outdoor mall. you guys had been out for hours, you wanted to treat Sarah to something special since Joel was working till around 6 and thought it would be a great time for you guys to bond, so you took a day off of work. "where do you want to go next?" you asked
"Uhm can we mabye stop for a drink?" she replied flashing a smile
You guys madeo your way to a small local coffee shop, one of your personal favorite that you grew up going to. you bought Sarah and you drinks and you guys sat down looking over your mountains of shopping bags. "thank you for this, I had alot of fun" Sarah said softy
"no problem I love having exuses to spend time with you" you replied, to be honest you loved seeing Sarah happy, Sarahs mom had left both Joel and Sarah a bit after Sarah was born and Joel put his all into raising Sarah. still, growing up without a mother figure was hard on Sarah and Joel had noticed. Joel felt horrible for her but there was really nothing he could do. when you and joel started dating and as you got closer to Sarah, Joel noticed Sarah become happier. "I'm really grateful for you y'know" Sarah said taking a sip from her drink "I'm grateful for you too"
Tumblr media
When you got home Sarah put on a fashion show for you and Joel of clothes you had bought her.
"Are you ready?" she asked from behind the door, her voice emanating excitment.
"come on out" you laughed glad to see her so happy.
she came out in a purple dress she had been the most excited when she saw it, even though it was very expensive, you didn't bat an eye, beeing able to give Sarah nice things was something you loved doing. Sarah did a small twirl before looking at the both of you
"do you love it or do you love it?" she squealed
"its absolutely gorgous!" Joel said, a smile plastered on his face
"thanks Y/n got it for me!" Sarah joked smiling at you
the rest of the night you, Joel and Sarah watched movies and ate cake until it got late. Sarah had fallen asleep on the couch and Joel picked her up and brought her to her room. you followed and you both put her to sleep. you placed a kiss on her forhead and as you pulled the covers up you stepped back to make sure she was comfortable. you felt Joels hands wrap around your waist as he placed a kiss on your shoulder
"thanks for taking her out today" he said "I don't think shes ever been that excited" "no problem" you smiled.
you enjoyed spoiling Sarah and had no plans to stop.

Love-Gate - Steve Harrington x Reader
Tumblr media
❀ Back to Navigation ❀   ❀ Stranger Things Masterlist ❀
WARNINGS: Some cursing, S4 EP3 Spoilers
Summary: Working as Ms. Kelly’s TA and having to stay late one night, you run into Dustin, Max, Lucas, and one of your closest friends, Steve. Revelations come to light and feelings are revealed.
Word Count: 2.8K
Tumblr media
Steve was excited, well maybe excited wasn’t the right word… Steve was ready to have a stable length of time in Hawkins. No monsters, no Upside Down, and more importantly, no girl problems. The first two had remained – he and the now group of freshman kids he had continuously slain monsters with had heard no whisperings of anything spooky going on. Maybe it was the fact that El had lost her powers, or even that she and the Byers’ had moved to bright and sunny California. But, Steve was thankful for the lack of creatures and Russians knocking at his door constantly.
However, the third part of his grand plan was, unfortunately, not playing out how he would like it to. Every girl he goes on a date with turns out to be not right for him, leading him to complain to Robin at work and to you on the phone. Normally, and during the past summer, all he had to do was stroll over to Claire’s to spot you restocking the poofiest scrunchies known to mankind or trying to comfort a crying ten-year-old as she gets her ears pierced. It was a daily occurrence for him – he would poke fun at the bedazzled scrunchie that helped tie your hair in a half-up half-down (it was part of the store uniform) and you would give a fake-salute and say “Ahoy!”. Starcourt mall stores were nothing if not consistent with how awful their store uniforms were.
He’d talk your ear off about how, no matter how hard he tried, every girl he flirted with didn’t return his affections. “Poor Steve,” you’d reply, earning a playful smack on the arm from him. After his break time was up, he’d give you one of his classic Steve Henderson smiles, drum his fingers on the purple check out desk, and say a variation of “catch you later” before he’d amble off back to Scoops Ahoy. You’d watch him walk back, flipping that silly little sailors hat around in his hands, and a dazed smile would form upon your lips. However, as quickly as it appeared, your thoughts would be sobered up by a group of girls asking where the jelly bracelets were.
Now, he had to resort to phone calls when there was a drag of customers at Family Video since you were busy being a teacher’s assistant at the school, shadowing Ms. Kelly in the counselor’s office. You were lucky that, for the most part, you could answer his calls. Nowadays, Ms. Kelly was up to her knees in files upon files of kids who were seeking her out for counseling. Due to the code of conduct, you weren’t allowed in the room while she was talking to the students, so you gave yourself busywork. Organizing paper clips according to size and color, cutting and filling out hallpasses, and sharpening pencils were what took up most of your days - but the pay and experience was good, so you didn’t complain. Plus, you were right there and available to take Steve’s calls… but you hated them. You hated having to hear about all these dates Steve was going on with all these different girls – hated hearing how he went to grab dinner, or watched the high school basketball game, or went to watch that new movie Top Gun that just hit theaters. Being friends with Steve Harrington was a full-package deal – you got the endless laughter and fun, but you also had to hear about his dating life.
Tumblr media
Ms. Kelly needed you to stay late to organize some files, which would have been fine, except for the fact that it was 9:30 at night. You were feeling worse for wear with a lack of sleep and too many variables swimming around in your brain. Two kids have been found dead, the town had an edge to it again, and you hadn’t heard from Steve in a couple of days. You understood that he had his life and you had yours, but this four day period of time without a word left you feeling worried.
You shook your head, dragging yourself back into what you were doing as you re-alphabatized the files within subsections of grade. You were just finishing up with the freshmen when you heard a noise from the hall. The beam of light from your flashlight began to grow shaky as your hand trembled, carefully closing and locking the filing cabinet. Normally, you would have turned the lights on in the counselor’s room, but since it was Spring Break, they were conserving power. Taking a deep breath and arming yourself with the lamp stand to your right, you braced yourself against the corner of the room, ready to take action against whatever monster threatened you. Hell, you, Steve, and Robin had faced the Russians – if you could infiltrate a top secret organization, you could defend yourself… right? Ever so slowly, you saw the lock on the door begin to twist and shift, resulting in your breath getting lodged in your throat. What felt like hours only took seconds as the door was pushed open and you began your swing, only to halt yourself when you saw the shocked faces of Steve, Dustin, and Max.
“Y/N?!” They all yelled in unison, and in disbelief. You let out a shaky breath, dropping the lamp stand on the ground and leaning against the wall, like you got the wind knocked out of you.
“What the hell are you three doing here?!” You ask, exasperated. Wordlessly, Steve reaches out to help you stand firmly on your own two feet.
“Oh, uh, you know…” Steve begins to say as Max digs in her jacket pocket to produce a key, effectively opening up the files you tried to preserve.
“No, I don’t know, and– Max, you cannot look at those files!” You exclaim, shoving the drawer back despite the hold the red-head had on it.
“But we need to! Chrissy’s file is in here, and…” Dustin says, trailing off. You raise an eyebrow and then fully put your back against the cabinet, protecting its contents from the mock Watergate breachers in front of you.
“So that’s what this is about. You want to look at Chrissy’s file and see if it has any correlation between what’s been happening?” You ask, earning nods from all three. You closed your eyes for a second and began gnawing on your lip – a habit you’ve never seemed to break when you got nervous or were contemplating something.
“Y/N, please, can you ditch your goody two shoes mindset for just a minute? For the greater good?” Steve pleads, his expression earnest. Looking into his chocolatey brown eyes, you crumble. Huffing, you slide away.
“Fine, but only Chrissy’s file, okay? I can get in serious trouble for this.” You relent. A grateful smile unfolds on Dustin’s face while Max resumes her previous actions. “While you guys are in here snooping,” you say, making sure that a negative connotation stays on your last word, “Steve, can I talk to you a minute?”
“Yeah, sure.” He says instantly, leaning against the wall and making himself comfy. With a deadpan look, you flick your eyes to the door.
“Alone?”
“Oh, yeah.” Steve corrects himself, letting you lead the way out of the room with him on your toes. As soon as you’re out in the hallway, you let yourself slide down the wall so you’re sitting on the ground, Steve opposite to you. You twiddle your fingers for a bit before looking up at him again, a little shocked to find that his eyes were trained on you. “Everything okay?” You sigh and nod and then shake your head.
“I assume you and the rest have some idea of what’s happening?” You pose the question, fearing the answer. Reluctantly, Steve nods a bit.
“Max saw Chrissy in some kind of predicament, and then saw her go into Ms. Kelly’s office.” He says. At his words, your head goes into your hands. “Hey, hey, what’s wrong?” Steve says, kind of cooing but with clear concern heavy in his tone. From anyone else, you would have hated that. But it’s Steve. He shuffles over to you and wraps an arm around your shoulders.
“I’m in there, Steve, every day and I watch these kids come in. Now there’s someone that ended up dead who just recently had to seek counseling?! And I couldn’t do anything just cause I’m some stupid TA who isn’t allowed to help.” You say breathlessly, shaking your head.
“Y/N, you are not stupid. You were, like, the smartest girl in the whole school and always willing to lend a hand.”
“And look where that got me. With a low paying job and single.” You spit bitterly, your gaze on your knees laced with malice.
“Alright, that’s not fair. You’re the best person ever, everyone knows that – including me!”
“Then what’s stopped you?!” You shout, a sense of helplessness touching your expression and voice. Steve opens his mouth like he’s about to say something, but nothing comes out. About a minute passes before he’s able to speak again.
“What?” He croaks out, his face the definition of disbelief. Before you can think of something to say, Max bursts out of the classroom with not one, but two files. It pulls you out of your conversation with Steve instantly, your goody two shoes turtle shell concealing you again.
“Max, you were supposed to grab Chrissy’s file, that's it.” You gritted out, anger clearly etching onto your face.
“Yeah, but it’s not just Chrissy. Fred was seeing Ms. Kelly too.” When Max mentions the other kid’s name, the second confirmed death, it causes your mind to spin. You beckon her over to where you and Steve were sitting, ushering her to open up the two files to look at them side by side. Instantly, you found the similarities. Constant headaches, nosebleeds, past trauma – almost everything was lining up word for word between the two kids. Shaking your head, you squint at Ms. Kelly’s handwriting as if it would reveal something more to you. All of a sudden, Max stood straight up, her face clearly concerned, as she began to walk towards the end of the hallway, looking intently at the door.
“Max?” You ask softly, not wanting to startle her. Dustin and Steve repeated her name, more urgency with their voices until she finally stopped and looked back at you. Her skin was so void of color and her hands so shaky. To you, it was like she saw a ghost.
Tumblr media
You don’t remember how you got to Steve’s room – all you knew was that you were asleep on one his plaid-patterned bed, your neck bent at an unfortunate angle that will definitely leave a crick. Your eyes flutter open to see Steve sitting next to you, his fingers fumbling while flipping a page of a book. You blink the tiredness out of your eyes, rubbing away any lingering sleepy dust.
“Harrington,” you murmur, drawing his attention immediately, “you look like a fish out of water with that thing in your hand.” Eyeing you and then the book, Steve lets a little smile develop in his lips.
“Yeah, yeah,” he says, accepting your little jab. “You slept like a rock.” He notes, almost chuckling at the state of you.
“How many hours?” You ask, pushing your hair that most definitely resembled a rat's nest away from your face.  Steve twists his left arm, revealing his watch. Oh, how you adored that watch. With a simple leather band and a round clock face, it remained a constant of Steve Harrington’s.
“A little more than 10 hours.”
“Holy shit,” you breathe, shaking your head a bit in disbelief. “I haven’t gotten that much in… well, I don’t know how long.” Steve shifts so that he’s laying down a bit, his head level with yours.
“We should talk about what you said,” he says, a more serious tone touching his words. This was what you dreaded.
“How about we forget them instead–” You begin, but Steve shakes his head.
“You can’t feel guilty about what’s happened.” He says, which gives you both a moment of relief and a moment of dread. Relief that he wasn’t going to mention the other thing that happened and dread as you were forced to think about the recent events.
“Steve, how can I not? I obviously knew something was wrong the minute they entered that office, and instead of looking into it, I just followed direct orders from a teacher because that’s all I know how to do. I mean, just look at me last night! I could barely even let you guys look at these files even though I knew I could trust you. I knew that shady stuff happens in Hawkins since the Russians and that huge monster that destroyed Starcourt. And yet, I paused and hesitated.” Steve gives you a pitiful look. “If I had just… followed an instinct or a gut, none of this would’ve happened. Chrissy and Fred, they would be okay and alive. Max wouldn’t be in danger.”
“Y/N, that’s not fair.”
“But it is!” You exclaim, tears threatening to spill from your eyes. Wordlessly, Steve gathers you into his arms, and holds you to his chest. Your fingers grasped at the soft yellow material of his sweatshirt and you knew that your sobs were dampening the cotton, but he didn’t move. He just held you closer.
“It’ll be okay. Robin and Nancy are already on the case at this psychiatric place and Dustin and Lucas are with Max at the Wheeler’s.” You nodded and pulled away a bit.
“Sorry about… this. I didn’t mean to, well, you know.” You say, motioning with your hands towards your tear-stricken face.
“You’re allowed to feel sad, Y/N. You’re allowed to cry.” Steve says, a sad smile on his face now.
“I know, it’s just… this wasn’t what you signed up for when you befriended the happy go-lucky Claire’s employee.” You say, laughing a bit.
“Well, was all of this what you signed up for when you befriended the Scoops Ahoy employee?” Now you were freely laughing, him joining in as well.
“Secret codes and saving town were definitely not in the handbook, but I signed it all the same.” You say. Steve sits up, leaning against his headboard.
“I wanted to be your friend the second I saw you.” Steve admits, sobering your smile just a bit. “I’d seen you working dozens of times, but it wasn’t until that knucklehead Lucas stopped by to grab a gift for Max. Now, if I were you, I would’ve given him total grief for it – teased him to no end as he asked about what to get for his girlfriend. But you just smiled and showed him what you would recommend.” You were astonished that he remembered that, blinking back a look of surprise. Steve picks up your hand gently and rubs his thumb over your hand. “And then, when you began talking to me, you didn’t hold that same notion of ‘King Steve’ or whatever that shit was. I was a blank slate for you until I introduced myself. And Y/N, I swear to everything, I am the stupidest guy alive for trying to hide my feelings for you by talking to you about all my failed dating attempts, because the only girl I really wanted to date was you.” Steve huffs out, breathless from his confession. Before you have a second to think, you’re cupping his cheeks in your hands and bringing up towards you. Taking the message immediately, Steve closes the gap by pressing his lips to yours. The kiss is slow and a bit awkward due to where the two of you were sitting, but it was perfect. Each push and pull expressed a need for each other, assuring messages of love. With one final kiss and a peck on your lips, Steve pulled back, letting his forehead rest against yours.
“Steve Harrington…” you say, out of breath, “I love you, Steve Harrington.” A dopey, lovesick grin spreads across both of your faces.
“I love you, Y/N L/N. Glittery scrunchies and all.”
“Sailors hat and all,” you shoot back.
“Monsters and Russians?” He asks, making you giggle.
“As I said – my signature remains true.” You laugh. Steve’s arms were where you wished you could spend the rest of your day, probably even the rest of your life. But of course, a call from Dustin not so subtly told the both of you to, quote, “get your asses over here” to the Wheeler’s basement. With his hand in yours and a sense of fearlessness in your mind, you knew that whatever was going to happen, it would be okay. Everything would be okay.

Hi! First I want to say that I love your stories and writing style! I was immersed in your Billy Hargrove x reader season 4 one-shot. It was just what I was looking for after finishing the season! Second I was wondering if I could make a request for a Billy Hargrove x female reader?
If not that’s okay but if you do then can I request that the reader is just like El and has the same powers but she also has Pyrokinesis. Billy and reader are together after meeting each other and they understand each other better than anyone else. Instead of Billy dying at star court mall she takes his place to keep him and El safe. So going into season 4, Billy has been feeling so much guilt over your death and feeling so broken that vecna has chosen him as his next target instead of max. Vecna uses you to torture billy and almost kills billy in the process. But what nobody knows is that you’ve been alive this whole time but stuck in the upside down. You’ve been able to survive so long because of your pyrokinesis ability. As billy is about to be killed by vecna(he’s so heartbroken he doesn’t know if he wants to continue without the reader) the reader shows up and saves billy and they start running to the opening to escape vecna. ( As this is happening Max and the others are looking for a song on maxs walkman that will help billy and she realizes that Billy’s favorite song is your favorite song California Dreamin by The Beach Boys). You can finish it however you want and change or add anything that will help you with the story line. You can definitely DM me if you want and I just want to thank you for taking the time to read my request! Hope you have a good day!
Stuck
→ summary: Losing you was probably, no, definitely Billy's biggest mistake - and he's made a lot of mistakes in his life. Whenever he sees Max and her friends, he thinks back to you saving all of them, in a 'mall fire' as it was known to the public. When the murdering starts again and he travels with the others he doesn't inform anyone when he starts hearing the clock too. After all, death meant being with you in the end, right?
→ request from the lovely @velyssaraptor
→ warnings: whole lot of wounds, sad billy :( , violence, swearing, Vecna, reader has powers (same as El & fire control/create)
→ spoilers season 4 !!
→ word count: more or less 5,8K
→ a/n: this idea… genius. Like this request is perfection, y'all. Anyway I'm hoping I'll be able to meet the expectations of… everyone that's reading this right now. have fun and enjoy <3 sadly, I don't think I've managed to write it that well and missed out on a few opportunities for good moments but firstly I didn't want it too long and second I'm stupid. Overall I deeply apologize if this didn't match your expectations at all :( still, please enjoy if you can!

Billy likes to think back to the day he met you. You were sitting on one of the lounge chairs at the public pool, seemingly Babysitting your younger sibling and his friends.
You wore a swimsuit in a plain color that suited you well. Sunglasses were sitting on your nose and when you had caught him staring, you reciprocated the look - until breaking it with a small laugh.
He'd later on asked you for a date and you went out to watch a movie and eat afterwards. He still remembers thinking you'd be at least a little like everyone else; going to sleep with him after the date. Instead, you had kissed his cheek and told him to 'work for it'.
From that moment on, he's been totally whipped for you.
And he still is. Even after seeing you die, seeing the life leaving your body while you looked into his eyes, black goo flowing out of your body in worrying amounts.
You'd died a painful but heroic death. Yet, he couldn't just tell everyone of how important your death was. That you had saved the whole town was a secret and had to be kept one. It maddened him - he wanted everyone to know that his girl saved everyone. That she was the reason everyone continued living without worrying.
At first it was really hard for him. Hell, it still is. But the first few weeks were spent in denial, crying and drinking copious amounts of alcohol. He knew you would've scolded him if you saw him like that. But he couldn't help it, after all he was barely alive anymore when you left.
So, when the killing started again he knew from the beginning that it wasn't this random Eddie Munson everyone blamed. He couldn't say why, but there was a certain feeling he had when the Mind Flayer had him possessed. It was like the drop of a rollercoaster but worse.
Which brought him to where he was now. Walking through the woods of Hawkins with Dustin, Lucas, Max, Robin, Nancy and Steve. It was still weird seeing his 'rival' like this - being some kind of parental figure for the teenagers while also fighting a bunch of monsters from another dimension.
"Alright he should be here." Dustin declares when they arrive at Skull Rock. And, indeed, there sat a boy with curly brown hair, eyes big and scared. He wore a denim vest with little souvenirs stuck to it and his pants had chains and a bandana on it.
He put the walkie-talkie next to him, gulping down the water they had gotten for him. "Am I dreaming or is that Billy Hargrove?" He asks, suspicious. "Yes, it's me get over it." Billy grunts and leans against a tree, hands in his pockets. "Oh, someone's cranky…" Eddie says under his breath before focusing on the others.
Billy zoned out while they were discussing their plans, only listening when they started walking again.
"So if I'm right this should lead us to one of the gates." Dustin says and holds up his compass. There's no reaction from the group apart from Steve giving him a thumbs up.
They get going, quickly arriving at… Lover's Lake? Billy has only been here a handful of times and it was always with you. You had loved it here, the calming view and peace was amazing.
You spent the night stargazing while he admired you, thankful for being able to be with you.
He's ripped away from his memories when Max touches his arm, giving him a worried glance. He smiles a little. After the events at the mall their sister-brother relationship had gotten worlds better and by now there were only short moments of bickering instead of full-blown fights.
"I'm alright," he half smiles and she nods, still worried.
They keep walking through the trees before they're standing on the shore of Lover's Lake. Their hike had taken longer than expected and the moon was shining brightly above the calm lake. "So. What do we do now, Henderson?" Steve asks and Billy looks up. "Uh, I'm guessing the gate is somewhere… in the lake. We gotta get on there." He motions to the water and Billy smirks lazily, water was no problem for him - since he started surfing really young he knew basically everything about rip currents and the dangers of water.
"I can go." He volunteers and the group turns to him. "Yeah, we have a boat here. Wait," Dustin walks a few steps to the boat, paddles lying in it. It looked stable and could fit at least three people. "Who's going apart from Billy?" Max asks and Steve, Dustin, Robin and Nancy raise their hands.
"I think that'll fit. I'll give you the compass," he passes it over to Robin who looks a bit overwhelmed at first but takes it without complaint, "when the needle starts spinning like crazy you should be at the gate. Or above it." He explains and gives them all a stern look.
"Don't go in there. We know way too little about Vecna." The moment he says the name Billy is distracted by an unpleasant, distorted clock sound somewhere near. He furrows his eyebrows and turns to look for it.
"Do you hear that?" He asks but when he turns to the others, there's no one. "Guys?"
"They aren't here." He knows that voice. He's spent the past six months missing that voice. "(y/n)?" he's breathless, his heart racing. Was he having some kind of hallucination? "You left me. You left me to die." you say and he finally turns to see you. Your hair is a mess, smeared with a black substance and there's some blood on your shirt.
"No- baby, I didn't leave you, I didn't want you to die I wanted to save you!" He sobs and comes closer to you. His hands shake when he reaches a hand out to touch your cheek. Your eyes, once full of warmth and love for him, were cold.
"I hope you feel guilty for what you did to me. For killing me." you raise your voice and a pained cry comes from Billy. He falls to his knees and tries grasping your hands. "(y/n)..." his whimpering doesn't seem to faze you and you pull your hands away.
"You murdered me!" you yell and he flinches, wincing.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry…" he wails and curls in on himself. "I can't live without you, please, come back to me. I can't do this anymore.." he whispers the last statement, sadness and guilt burning at the back of his throat.
The tears run freely down his cheeks and when he looks up it's not you that's standing there. It's something with… tentacles all over it and it's nose seems burned off. Billy scrambles back, scared.
"What- what are you? What did you do to (y/n)?" The creature laughs and comes closer to Billy. "No. What did you do to her? You're at fault for what happened." The monster speaks and Billy swallows around the knot in his throat, averting his eyes.
"Don't ignore me. Come with me and I'll end this pain. I'll bring you to her." it smiles - or so it seems, it's hard to tell - and extracts a hand. He considers it for a while, but then he hears your voice shout 'no' from somewhere. Frantically he looks around, yelling your name in hopes to find you.
The monster isn't happy about that and he growls before turning to Billy. "You're coming with me, whether you like it or not." And then Billy's back to the others, Max shaking his shoulder and crying while Eddie has his eyes open wide, shocked.
"Billy!" His sister cries and hugs him. Billy is completely out of it, eyes slowly looking around before taking everything in. What the hell just happened?
-
The moment Vecna finds you is the moment your time is most definitely over. When you saw him torture Billy like that it was hard to get into the mind of your boyfriend along with Vecna (you'd heard your friends call him that and it stuck with you).
But when you did, it was to see him actually considering giving himself to Vecna. It had broken your heart when he curled in on himself on the floor - pained cries coming from him.
You slump against the house wall that you were hiding in and for the first time in the Upside Down, you cry. The tears come fast and you hold a hand to your mouth to keep the sobs in.
You missed him so much. His curly hair, perfectly styled, and his stupid smirk he wore whenever he flirted with you.
You even missed the stench of cigarettes most of his furniture carried and his stupidly expensive cologne.
When and would you ever be able to see him again?
-
Billy leaned against a tree, one arm thrown over Max's shoulder who was dozing off. The group decided to exclude him from the boat 'tour' so he was stuck babysitting the kids.
Dustin and Lucas were discussing some things regarding Vecna and the Upside Down while Lucas was watching Max.
Lastly, Billy took the small pendant on his neck between his index finger and thumb. Your first anniversary you'd gotten two necklaces - for you and him. It was a small round pendant about the size of his thumb with a music note engraved onto the front of the silver metal. On the inside was a small picture of you and him in his room.
Your head was laying on his chest and he was making a silly face while your face was scrunched up in a laugh. The picture was accidental because the camera slipped out of your grasp and captured the moment before it hit you on your forehead.
He smiles fondly at the memory of you having a bump on your forehead for the next two weeks.
It made sense to him now - what 'you' had said. It was Vecna, Max had explained that. And yet he couldn't help but believe it's words. He was responsible for what happened to you. How could he have put you into so much danger?
He sighs and lets his head fall on the tree behind him. God, he thought, when is this gonna be over?
-
After the first incident it happened nearly regularly. At first a bad headache and sometimes even nosebleeds and then - the clock.
It was always you coming to haunt him.
But the worst was yet to come.
No one exchanged a word when Steve drove to the graveyard where you were buried. Max had made it a weekly thing to come here and tell you about what happened or just listen to music on her walkman while staying silent.
Today, she'd wanted to come again. She urged Billy to tell her about what happened to him and he caved because Max was Max and he couldn't say no to her.
So there he was, sitting in front of your tombstone with his legs crossed.
He didn't know you were there too, flickering in and out of the Upside Down every once a while. Hearing his and Max's voice was like a dream come true and you sat down at the stone, leaning against it and closing your eyes.
"Uh… Max made me do this so I don't have anything… prepared." You heard him nervously admit and you smiled. He's so cute.
"I don't know, I feel like there's so much to tell you." You imagine sitting back in his bed with him, his head in your lap and his fingers fumbling with the necklace.
"There's a new thing from the Upside Down and we all got back together. I think you would've liked to see us all together. We got a new one, kinda. His name's Eddie. He's friends with Dustin and Mike, they play DND together."
Tears leave your eyes when he tells you about everything, especially when he gets to the part where he starts to blame himself for you being gone.
Before he could continue he stops and you, too, hear the clock sounds.
You jump up and hide a few feet away when Billy is pulled into the dimension with Vecna. You can't make out what they're saying, so after a while you get closer.
"...come with me." Ends Vecna and Billy stays silent. "Come with me and forget about her. Forget about your pain. She's here, too. You can see her then." The monster proposes. "Is she really here?" Billy asks and it's the moment you realize he wants to go with Vecna.
"No!" You run out of your hideout without a thought and scramble to stand in front of Billy. "I may not be able to win against you but I won't let you take him." Vecna laughs and raises a hand, vines wrapping around Billy.
He falls unconscious when a particularly vicious vine knocks him out and you nearly growl. You raise your hand and Vecna is being pushed back by an invisible force. "Oh, I can do that too, don't try me."
You scoff, "Show me." It's tiring, the way he can fight all of your advances.
You're barely awake anymore when he puts a hand around your throat, cutting off air.
"No one fights against me and gets out alive." Vecna says and just before strangling you completely you drag your eyes to Billy. His face is scrunched up in pain and you struggle against the creature's hand. You wouldn't let him die like this. Not when he doesn't know the truth.
It's in a few seconds in which you set Vecna's body on fire, take Billy with you and run somewhere to hide. It's another second when California Dreamin' starts playing and another portal opens. You can see Billy high in the air, headphones over his ears. Your friends are gathered around him and Max tries reaching for his legs to get him down again.
Billy's eyes are rolled back, only the white being visible. You shudder and realize you have to get him out or it's going to be too late. Taking his hand you lead him towards the portal, making sure the monster doesn't see you. Billy is more unresponsive than you'd like, limply following you.
When you reach a rock big enough to hide behind in front of the gate, you stop. "Billy?" He moves his head in your direction, seemingly only taking you in now. "(y/n)?" His voice is breathy and his eyes are starting to droop - the vines have really gotten to him. "Yeah, yeah it's me!" You could sob from relief, but the usual sounds from the Upside Down are still present and you need to save him.
"You gotta get back. Max and the others are waiting." You explain and lift a hand to his cheek, caressing his pale skin. He pulls his eyebrows together and takes your hand. "But- you. You have to come back with me." you look down and try to find the right words.
"I'll come back. But first I have to win against Vecna. He can't come back anymore." Billy looks shocked, "No, no come back. We can plan it- we can talk about this but don't leave me again!" He's clutching your arms, keeping you from leaving.
"Billy… there's nothing I'd rather do than go with you. Come home. But I can't. I can't keep letting him win." A lone tear rolls down his cheek and you wipe it away, "Promise. I'm coming home after." You hold out your pinky, waiting for him to do the same.
"I can't…" he sobs, and your heart breaks a little more. Leaning your forehead against his, you look him in his eyes. "Promise. I'll see you soon and we can- we can do whatever you want. But you have to get outta here now."
He tries protesting again but this time you stand up, slowly pushing him towards the gate. "I love you. Remember that." With that you guide him backwards until he's through the gate, the circle leading to your home closing again.
A sigh escapes you and you turn back, walking towards Vecna. "Let's kill this asshole." You think and straighten your shoulders.
While Billy falls back down and is immediately pulled into Max's arms he can't help but feel like it's worse than before. Yes, you're alive. But you're currently risking it all again and he can't save you. Again. "She's alive." He whispers and stares blankly ahead. Now he just has to trust you. He definitely does, but still. Leaving you alone when it's something so dangerous makes him feel like he just lost you all over again.
"Who?" Max inquires, briefly checking for any injuries he might've gotten. Billy mutters your name before his eyes roll back and he passes out, the exhaustion of the situation taking over.
The friends look at each other, baffled. It's Steve, who speaks up. "Do you think he's serious? I mean, couldn't it be that it was Vecna who he saw?" He pushes his hair back and leans against the tombstone, a shiver running down his spine at the thought that this was a burial for someone who was alive.
"He could be right. He got out of there before we played the song, or very quickly at least. If Vecna had gotten him he wouldn't have gotten out this easily. We should believe him." Her eyes are focused on her older brother, his blonde locks falling over his forehead and generally being messed up through all the chaos.
"Let's get him home and then ask him. There must be something he knows." The others agree and they heave up Billy's body and bring it to the car.
-
Walking around the corner you see the large, looming house. It's covered in the black vines and bats are flying around it. The always-there thunderstorm is raging and the sky switches to red every few minutes.
Stepping forward you open the front door, the inside cold and unwelcoming. Walking through the heavy tension gets more and suddenly a dark voice speaks up. "I've been waiting for you." It speaks and you stop walking, standing in the middle of the foyer.
"Where are you?"
The monster doesn't show itself seemingly preferring to stay in the shadows and, literally, leave you in the dark.
"You don't need to know." you scoff and the voice comes closer. "I'm impressed by how long you've survived. When you sacrificed yourself back then, I was… confused. Why would you do that, I thought. And then I realized. I had never had anything like those friends of yours. Them being able to fight against me like that was impressive to say the least.
You may know why I wanted to get Eleven." He waits for a reply from you, but you stay silent.
"She sent me here." Confusion clouds your brain - how? "Oh, it was easy for her. I wanted to help her. Wanted to free her from Brenner's experiments and imprisonment. He would've let her die and I wanted to help," his voice gets angry and you realize the reason it was your friend group that was always tormented by this dark power.
"Yeah. I've been after her since she escaped and I realized I could use this to my advantage. It wasn't my plan when you arrived, but seeing you're just as talented makes it easier to forget."
This time, you can feel his presence behind you.
"You know, it's senseless to bring her here. What will you do when you get her? Kill her? Wouldn't that be too easy?" it's provoking, but you need to know. It wouldn't make any sense to chase her for so long, just to simply kill her.
"You're right. I want her to have to suffer what I have. I'm alone here. I'm alone and I have to watch the pest that humans are invading nature even more. She will suffer just as I did. And that's where you come into play. Trust me, there was a reason I didn't kill that lover of yours. I know what you two planned and I know his weaknesses so don't try me."
Your mouth goes dry and you step away from him, clenching your hands into fists. "Well… he's not going to wake up. Unless… you bring me the girl. He'll live. But not for long." His voice is menacing and tears gather on your lash line.
"No… let him go!" You yell and spin around to try and find him. "You can't do this to me! Not him!"
Vecna laughs, amused at your pain. "As I've said. The girl. You'll know when the time is over."
And with that, he's gone. You're left alone with your anger, sadness and betrayal. How were you going to fix this? Soon, he would go after more innocent teens and you couldn't let that happen. Not when you could keep that from happening.
When you leave the house a plan starts to form in your mind. If Eleven was able to open another dimension and trap him here there shouldn't be a lot that keeps him living. In fact, the only thing that does is the killing. Closing all the portals would make him weak and in turn you'd be able to kill him.
You mentally pat yourself on the shoulder for the plan before you realize; closing the gates could mean you'll also be trapped here. Not just him. The destruction of Vecna won't mean the end of the Upside Down but the end of the crossing between the normal world and this one.
You search for the safe place you'd found and sit down, using one of your powers to find Billy.
You enter the small hut that once belonged to Hopper, bed still intact. On it lies Billy, sweat shimmering on his face.
Max, Lucas, Dustin, Steve and Eddie (as you'd learned) are gathered around the couch, discussing something. When you get closer, you start understanding their voices.
"No, I think this time we won't be able to help. If there's one person that can kill Vecna it's (y/n)." Dustin says and gestures with his hands. So they know about you. "You're right, but if she kills Vecna… won't that mean all the portals will close?" Max asks, bringing up your earlier concern.
You sit down in front of the couch, one hand holding Billy's. "Yes but no. Vecna may be connected to the portals, but are they connected to him? All the other things are, like the Demogorgon, Mind Flayer etc. They will die with him. But the portals are on their own. She'd have to close them herself, kill Vecna and open one again before closing it when she's here."
You smile at Dustin's incredible talent of quick understanding and his IQ. There's silence for a little before Eddie speaks up. "The lights," he points to the small lamps scattered around the room and how they've started flickering.
Your concern grows and you scoot a little closer to Billy. His sweat gets worse and his eyes move around wildly under his eyelids. You lay a hand on his cheek, knowing this is your time to leave. You mumble an 'i love you' before getting up and leaving, throwing a last look at the group of friends.
Coming back to your reality was like a breath of stale, dust filled air. The weird white particles invade your nose and you cough before getting up. If you had the chance now, you'd start now.
Closing portals required more strength than you expected but with the help of a memory of Billy or your friends it worked out. One by one you weaken Vecna, the last one being closed when you hear him.
"What did you do?" His voice is awfully quiet and you shake a little. "I'm going to kill you for what you did. And you're going to die slowly, painfully."
He throws his head back and comes closer, looking down at you. "Oh, really?" a nod from your side before both of you lift your hands at the same time.
The invisible force hits you immediately and you're pushed back a good two feet before regaining yourself.
You grunt, pushing all of your effort into tearing him apart. He copies you, the bats around your two bodies going wild.
When your legs start cramping you cry out of pain. This wouldn't be a waste. You'd make all of your sacrifices worth it.
A scream tears from your throat and you push yourself harder, a red glow coming from its chest. It starts growing, his powers lessening and you are able to move back forward.
"You can't… kill me." He grunts out before you use your other hand and overstep your limits. Your hands cramp and your feet leave the floor, Vecna slowly falling into dust. His warped face is the last thing you see of him. It's before you pass out that the sudden quiet and peace engulfs you.
The group is gathered at Eddie's place, watching with wonder as the gate heals itself and closes before vanishing. Crazy laughing and high fives are heard when the realization sets in: you did it. You killed Vecna and with that all the craziness that came with it. They celebrate, Dustin trying to contact Mike and Will.
When they come back to Hopper's old hut they see Billy - awake. He's confused, rubbing his forehead after wiping the sweat away.
"She did it." Is the only thing Dustin says before everyone cheerfully explains the situation.
Eddie throws himself on the couch next to Billy. "Quite the girl you've got there. She killed an interdimensional monster and rescued pretty much all of… the world!" He makes an exploding Motion with his hands and laughs.
"Yeah. Just hope she'll come back soon." Billy smiles sheepishly, folding his hands. "Dude. There's no way that if she did this she won't be able to come back here. Guessing she's asleep or something. That had to be exhausting, man!" Eddie stands back up and goes to converse with their friends, leaving Billy with his thoughts.
Yeah, it had to be exhausting for you. He was hoping you'd make it home soon, then he'd be able to finally care for you.
-
Waking up in the Upside Down is definitely the worst experience. You're glad no weird Upside Down bug crawled in your mouth and that there's none of the crazy bats anymore.
"Let's see…" your orientation has never been the best, so instead of finding Eddie's house you go the way you think is right - to Hopper's cabin.
Finding it was harder than ever and your stomach growls loudly a few times during your hike. You take in a deep breath, getting ready to come back home.
You lift your hand, some reminder blood from yesterday still on your skin. The air shifts and something more tense sets in. Dark particles start swiveling before the red, slimy skin builds itself back up. Your chest heaves with exhaustion and you're sure you're going to collapse the second you're through the portal.
When it's done, or when it's big enough for you to pass through you take everything in one last time. You mumble an ironic goodbye and step through, the gooey substance sticking to you like a second skin. When you're out, it's only seconds before the gate disappears, with that closing.
You fall to your knees and suddenly a bunch of shoes are in your view. Looking up, you see Dustin and the rest of the party (well except the ones in California). "Hi, guys." It's more of a joke and before you know it your arms are full of weeping teenagers.
Looking around you see Billy sitting on the couch, looking fond, yet still exhausted. His hair is matted to his forehead and a bruise is forming on his underarm.
You send him a small wave before focusing back on the teens. "I'm proud of you. I saw and heard how you solved this and- incredible." Especially Dustin looked flustered and the rest of them started talking all over each other.
Nancy, Steve and Robin stood to the side, content with having everyone back together. Eddie, who you so far hadn't talked to at all, looked a little lost but endeared nevertheless.
His hair was wild and unruly, brown curls falling past his shoulders. His eyes were big and his hands full of rings. Attractive, admittedly. From what you've seen, a great friend, too.
When they slowly let you go and stood back up Billy came to stand in front of you. A wave of his cologne invaded your senses and you took his stretched out hand, getting up with his help. His arms wound around you and you buried your face in his muscle shirt clad chest.
"Welcome back, doll."
-
After all the excitement died down a little Billy helped you to his car, his arm around your waist.
He was steadier by now because he rested mostly for the past days. You did too, but your body wasn't back to full health yet and it would probably take some time still.
He opened the car door for you and you chuckled. "A real gentleman, aren't you?" He exaggerated a nod and bow before moving to the driver's seat.
His music was more quiet during the drive, still heavy bass and loud guitars but you could hear yourself think for once.
"What… if we moved together? With Max, I mean." It's probably random for him, considering you had never spoken up about it before. Admittedly, you've been thinking about this for a while - especially after getting stuck in the Upside Down.
His eyes went wide and he averted his glance from the street for a second, "What do you mean?"
"Well. Neil is coming back tomorrow from his… I don't even know what, and it's just going to get worse, isn't it?" He nods hesitantly and stiffens at the mention of his father.
"I just… The Byer's house has been free since they moved and it's a nice place. Joyce called me a few days before I- you know, and asked whether I knew someone that'd be interested. But obviously no one wants a house where someone went missing, right?" He agrees with a hum and you continue.
"This would be a big- huge step for us but I can't keep seeing you and Max in danger because of him. I really can't. Joyce offered the house for an affordable price and if we both start working again it would easily be manageable. So. What do you say?"
After a few minutes of silence which made you a little jittery, he answered. "Honestly, it's a nice idea. Definitely not something we can just chicken out from but even if it doesn't work out a safe home would be great. And there are tons of jobs now that Starcourt isn't open anymore." He stops before smiling and taking your hand.
"We'll just have to tell Max and she'll be the one to decide, hm?"
Telling Max was filled with nerves and your rambling, but she agreed quickly. She had only been to the Byers house a few times, but it would do as a new home.
Your parents weren't happy with it at first, considering they still saw Billy as trouble. When you elaborated more they slowly accepted it and were relatively helpful with the move.
Neil and Susan on the other side freaked out. Of course Neil wouldn't want his son to leave - who would he let his anger out on?
Susan was unsure, not wanting to be left alone with Neil and his endless anger. In the end, it didn't matter what they said and everything was settled quickly.
Now, now you were happy. Sharing a home with two of your closest friends - or even family - was amazing. You did have trouble sleeping at night, the terrors of the Upside Down still haunting you, but with Billy it was alright.
Living alone was hard but after a while everything became a routine and slowly but surely it became a home.

Prompt: Joel/Tess on a date but Sarah (knows Tess and adores her) doesn’t know yet that they’re dating, catches them at the movies or at the mall. Something innocent and adorable yet very smoochy!
It's been a while since I got this but this prompt was lovely! Happy belated birthday @bignosebushybrows and hopefully you had an amazing day ❤ and fingers crossed you like it:
When her uncle barged loudly inside their house, calling her downstairs and immediately showing her the keys of the car looped around his finger with a flashy grin, Sarah hadn’t thought much of it. Really, she would, over all things sacred, hate it if someone else had been entrusted to watch over her.
But uncle Tommy was fun and, hopefully her daddy wouldn’t know if she lowered the voice inside her head just a little; Sarah liked going on with him because he let her do things on her own.
Now, she did love her dad. More than she could try to put into words, more than she could ever describe, more than the countless stars that adorned the countryside sky when they visited the old ranch where they grew up. However, she was growing older, and there was so much freedom a girl of her age could get under the vigilance of her parents. And she had long gotten used to her daddy being overprotective, it was for her own good, and there was truth to it sometimes.
Tommy rolled the windows down and clicked on the radio, humming along, and she beamed on the passenger side.
Yet she liked this, and it wouldn’t do her harm. At the end of the day, there was someone supervising her, and Sarah understood her own limits and what risks she could encounter.
“You gotta try the new arcade.” He said, messing up her hair, laughing at her scoff.
She couldn’t stop smiling, having talked long enough about that with her friends over the phone.
“Sure will.” She agreed eagerly, wrinkling her nose at him playfully.
“And what are you gonna do while I’m nowhere to be seen? You aren’t gonna be scared, aren’t ya? ” He teased half-heartedly, earning a giggle out of her as he took a turn and drove through the park, a shortcut he always reminded her existed when they went this way.
“I'm gonna use the money my daddy gave me, buy me some fries.” Sarah shrugged, playing with the bracelet around her wrist. “And you should take out Maria on a real date.”
Tommy gave her a sidelong glare before staring ahead.
“Uncle, meeting her at the mall only is a disgrace to the Miller’s last name.” Not for the first time Sarah scolded, and Tommy almost put his hands up in surrender.
“I’ll keep that in mind.” He joked, elbowing her gently while she frowned, right as they approached the parking lot. “Listen, I promise this is the last time.”
“It better be.” Sarah gave, that chiding tone the same one she brought out so similar to her dad’s, and then she remarked seriously, elbowing him back. “You should buy her something nice.”
Maria was a cool, charismatic woman who worked at the cash register in one of the stores—she had forgotten the name now—and her uncle was infatuated. He would use the excuse of taking her to the mall for an ice cream or to shop around, but then he would flirt with her while Sarah looked around, and it became common.
Right now, her daddy had no clue, and she had zipped her mouth shut.
Once inside, Sarah counted her money twice as Tommy mocked her without malice, barely disguising his impatience.
Maria’s store popped into view when they took the escalator, and Tommy kissed her forehead to her light-hearted complaint.
“Don’t get too far, ‘kay? And if you need anythin’ you know where to find me. Go have fun, kid.” He squeezed her shoulders, trusting her and letting her acknowledge it as she nodded.
“Please, bring up the date before we leave!” Sarah exclaimed, waving a hand in the air before disappearing into a bright, big H&M store on her left.
She took a break at the food court when she got thirsty, all the walking and observing and trying on clothes tiring her some, so she sat close to the cinema entrance and ordered some cinnamon sugar pretzels after drinking her lemonade. Munching on them, Sarah squinted in the fluorescent lights above her head.
It couldn’t be him, right?
Sarah was sure of one thing: she could recognize her daddy on a crowd, and he just stood out with his physique. And he wasn’t alone! His arm was banded around a woman’s shoulders, leaning on him, and when she saw a glimpse of her face-
“Ish that Tesh?” She murmured around a mouthful of food, crumbs drizzling around her lips; Sarah brushed them aside, pretzels being set apart as she scanned them thoroughly, not being noticed.
Accidents happened, and she could mistake some random couple; nonetheless, some meters between them couldn’t fuzz out the truth. Sarah leaned on he elbows, attempting to capture more as her daddy whispered something on Tess’s ear, who in turn smacked him gently on the chest and pressed their lips together. Oh, oh, so it was something serious.
Tess had been a constant presence in her life whose encouraging words were always at the ready, who had figuratively taken her under her wing since the first day, who was confident and relaying both—she was friend of the family, had known her for so long. The past summer, she had spent so many hours at their home teaching her how to work with clay, starting with easy things since Sarah was a beginner.
Had she been so blinded by her own joy as to not notice the signs? Tess surely showed up more, and her daddy had been a bit weird, in the sense that he would act differently around her, and once Uncle Tommy picked at him because he called her during work hours…
Her heart almost leaped out of her chest, the dawning realization sticky like the cinnamon on the pad of her fingers, a gasp spilling out of her lips as they walked towards her seat.
Sarah froze as there was no way she was exiting without being noticed, clutching a napkin to clean her fingers anxiously and blinking repeatedly at the wait for the inevitable.
Warm eyes spotted her, their conversation drowned before being completely shut down, and then it was their turn to still like a deer caught in headlights.
Tess’s hands were intertwined with his, and Sarah fixed on it before her gaze darted between them, chewing the inside of her cheek.
The first one to regain her composure was Tess, laughing nervously. “Hey, hi Sarah. Nice to see you here.”
Sarah rubbed her palms, clasping them together as she locked eyes with her daddy, who looked as if he wanted the earth to swallow him whole.
“Uh, baby girl.” He greeted gruffly, strained, but not dropping Tess’s hand at all. “How long have you-”
“You have some explainin’ to do.” Is what Sarah opted to answer after chosing her words carefully, approaching them openly.
Tess was the one who tilted her head and offered a relieving, small grin, offering her other hand. “Let’s go for a walk then.”
Joel sighed heavily and scrubbed at his face with a hand, staring at them both afterward. “‘S a long story, Sarah.”
“Got nowhere else to be, Daddy! I suspect we’ll be here for a long period of time.” She yelled to jab at them, who shared a quick, fleeting look, giving in easily. “At least you were in good hands.”
A complicit wink at Tess—they both busted in giggles, he rolled his eyes, and urged them forward.
She wasn’t ready to go home yet.

Lucas Sinclair, Mike Wheeler, and Will Byers with a male!reader who is Dustins older brother
(Each of them are 15 in this fic btw)
Tumblr media
Lucas Sinclair
You met Lucas when you were dropping Dustin off at the movie theater to see a movie with Lucas
Lucas asked about who you were because Dustin had NEVER mentioned you before
Dustin just explained you were his older brother, just a year older than the group.
He had seen you around school, but never around Dustin.
Lucas was kinda pissed that Dustin had never brought up the fact he had a brother, but that was a conversation for later.
You smiled at Lucas before you drove away, and Lucas couldn’t stop thinking about you for the entire movie
If you go to any of his basketball games/play basketball he will always try to impress you.
You guys go on a lot of dates to gas stations and malls (mostly because Dustin asks you to get stuff for him and you wanna spend time with Lucas)
Once you brought Dustin with you on a date with Lucas and they just talked the whole time so. Never again did you bring him
Lucas thinks you’re super cool because you can drive a car, but he will never admit that.
If you play dnd with him he will be so happy bro
He hasn’t gotten to play it in a while and having his boyfriend play it with him?? He would be so excited
Most times when you guys wanna sleepover you guys stay at your house because Lucas does NOT want his boyfriend to be around Erica
He also wants to see Dustin too but won’t tell you that either
His favorite thing to do is go to your house
Lucas loves being able to hang out with his bestfriend AND his boyfriend without it being weird so
Tumblr media
Mike Wheeler
You and Mike first met when the group were younger.
It was in Mike’s basement and the group was all playing dnd when you came in to bring Dustin home because it was his turn to feed the cat.
Mike first thought you were just an annoying older sibling like Nancy.
He was totally wrong when he found out Dustin had told you about Eleven and you started asking Mike if there was anyway you could help.
And when you started playing dnd with the group thats when he fell in love
You asked him for help sometimes and he loved it
When you guys were older, you joined the hellfire group with Dustin and Mike.
You and Mike spent so much time together after that
A lot of times after hellfire you would comfort mike about Will and El being in california
But you were a little jealous because you assumed Mike just wanted to see El again.
All Mike really wanted was to be your boyfriend.
When you guys started dating it was when Mike went to California and you came along.
One night Mike was bored, so you guys decided to take a drive in your car.
There was no specific place where you were going, you guys just wanted to enjoy the sunset and the city in your car.
It was perfect, music was playing softly in the background, it wasn’t too cold or too hot outside, and you and Mike were just laughing and cheering.
When you parked the car, you both sat in the grass in some random spot and just stared at the sky.
You had put your hand in Mike’s hair, and his head was on your shoulder.
Eventually Mike just leaned up and kissed you, whispering that he loved you.
You stared at him in shock before telling him you loved him too, and fell asleep with him in your arms.
Tumblr media
Will Byers
You and Will first met when he moved to California.
You were in his science class and was his lab partner (idc if this is corny)
He thought you looked familiar but never knew why.
Until you guys were just talking about your lives and brought up siblings and that you had a younger brother named Dustin.
Will thought it was kinda weird that he thought one of his best friends brother was hot but he just ignored it.
After the project you guys became good friends.
You guys hung out outside of school and just talked and did whatever
He asked you out the day Angela made fun of Eleven when she tried to use her powers on Angela and it didn’t work.
You just yelled at Angela for being such a bitch and told her what she needed to hear
You also defended Will whenever people said shit to him
He was so in love with you at that point and you felt the same
He would never ask you out though, you had to ask him.
You did that by literally just saying “Hey umm, wanna be my boyfriend…?”
Will said yes and just jumped into your arms happily
When he meets up with Dustin again Dustin is so shocked that you are dating Will
But as long as his best friend and brother are happy, Dustin’s happy.
Sorry Will’s was kinda rushed 😜

Growing up with strict parents was never a problem. Y/N understood the reasons, she knew her parents were just wanting to protect her from what one day in the past happened to them. She understood why they had rules for when they went out with friends for birthdays, they'd take them and pick them up. She understood why they'd put her and her little sister in a high school that only girls attended, wouldn't be distracted by the hormone-ridden boys. She understood why they had a certain time to get home, until eight in the evening, so it wouldn't interfere with the schedule the next day. She understood parental protection, because that was their duty. But all that didn't make sense when she met Jeno. Jeno. She loved his name. It all started when a moving truck stopped at the front house 3 months ago. Y/N was studying in the room and heard the loud laughter, it caught her attention that she went to the window and saw him for the first time. Jeno shone, the good laugh made Y/N laugh unconsciously, he helped his parents take things into the house that would become of Lee family from that day on. And of course, even watching from afar, she couldn't help but notice the boy's beauty. She'd never had contact with so many guys, just a few distant relatives, so seeing Jeno kindled something inside her. Even though he was smiling innocently and wearing very plain clothes, a white T-shirt, light jeans and black shoes, she could see how defined his shoulders were. She'd never seen such broad shoulders, not in person, she'd seen some shirtless actors in the movies. But Jeno was real and now her neighbor. And seeing him there, she understood when schoolmates called a boy hot. That was the word that defined Jeno. The next day, Jeno's mother showed up at the door, introducing herself to Y/N's mother and from there, the two became friends. And that garnered some comments at dinner, when everyone was gathered around the table. Y/N found out that Jeno went to the neighborhood school where only boys attended, which meant that his parents were also strict like hers. And in the next few weeks she saw him arrive along with the friends who stayed until the end of the afternoon at his house. That's when all her convictions started to fall apart. She wanted to have this experience, it would be nice to spend the afternoon with her friends without having to study, just having fun without having to go to the mall for it on a specific day. But the first time she actually spoke to Jeno days later was a pure accident.
"Y/N!" her sister yelled at the head of the stairs and she huffed loudly, losing concentration brutally. "What?" She yelled back, waiting for the answer that didn't come. She got up from her desk chair and went downstairs, finding her sister standing in front of the pantry looking up. "I can't reach Tommy's food." The sister complained and Y/N smiled slightly. It was the sister's job to feed the pet that day. "I'll get it for you, bring him here." She asked as she went to the package on the top shelf and her sister went. The excited dog, as soon as the youngest opened the door to the room where he was, ran through the house like a rocket. And Y/N laughed, until she saw that the back door was open, she put the food down and looked at the dog. The pet took turns glancing between her and the back door, and when she started to grab him, he ran again. "Hold him!" She asked for her sister but it was too late, Tommy was already running to the back door and Y/N followed him, trying to catch up. "No, Tommy!" The dog seemed to think it was a joke and headed out of the house, crossing the street and ending up right in front of the house while Y/N ran awkwardly after him, yelling for him to come back. She stopped when she saw Tommy sniffing someone's leg and when that someone bent down to pick it up, she really saw who it was. Jeno. There he was, plain again, in a blue sweatshirt and comfortable black pants. She didn't want to be so obvious by looking him over from head to toe, but this time she was facing him and thanked Tommy for taking his attention even momentarily. So she could closely observe every detail that hadn't been possible in the last few weeks. He was more handsome than he looked through her window. The black hair falling into the eyes, the thin and well-shaped face, the protruding nose, the pink and full lips. Not even her favorite actors were so beautiful like that, almost sculpted by the gods. No, in fact Apollo himself would be jealous of Jeno. When she stopped to look into his eyes, Jeno turned away from Tommy and looked at her. Firmly and intensely. Y/N felt her whole body shiver as their eyes met. The dark irises traced her face. "Hello." he smiled sweetly and she practically melted. A boy was supposed to be this handsome and with a voice so…attractive? Were all men like this? "Hi." She replied shyly, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Is this dog yours?" he asked as stroked Tommy's ear, which he seemed to like. Another thing Y/N noticed was Jeno's hands, wide and big, the strong veins bulging out made her breath a little more labored and certain thoughts that she never had, appeared. Like if they were as soft as they looked, if they were strong enough to… Y/N shook her head to clear the thoughts. "Yes, that's Tommy." she replied, feeling her entire body on fire, not just her cheeks. "Well, Tommy, I think it's time to go with your owner." Jeno laughed and she smiled, the sound was even more pleasant to hear up close. Jeno returned the dog to Y/N and their hands touched for a few seconds but that made the two face each other again, Jeno had his body leaning forward to be able to deliver the dog safely and obviously closer, even though he still had one chasm of distance between the two, Y/N noticed how taller he was in person. Y/N smiled shyly and lowered her head, pretending to be busy adjusting Tommy on her lap, it was actually because of Jeno. "I'm Jeno." He introduced himself and Y/N lifted her head, looking at him. He'd moved away and she hadn't liked it that much. I know that, she thought. "Y/N, I'm your next door neighbor." She quickly turned her body to the house behind her, as her hands were full. "It's nice to finally meet you!" she frowned, cocking her head to the side, confused. "My mom, she mentioned that there was a teenager my age in the house across the street, but it's the first time I've seen you." Probably because she was too busy studying and watching him through her bedroom window. "Well, I have to go in. It was nice meeting you, and you too Tommy." Jeno spoke cordially and Y/N just nodded, not knowing how to respond. She walked away as he entered the house and walked back to hers, seeing her sister standing at the front door. Y/N turned around in time to see Jeno smiling at her before closing the door. "You're not going to say anything to Dad." Y/N asked and the sister raised her eyebrow. "I do your homework." "Deal."
[...]
Over the next few weeks, Jeno seemed to want to keep in touch with Y/N somehow. He always sat on the front steps of the house or on the sidewalk, sometimes with friends and sometimes with a guitar. Anyway, he always looked at Y/N's house waiting for something or someone to show up. She saw everything through her bedroom window and always felt the same desire to run to talk to him until dawn, forget about studies, school, friends and even her parents' rules. But that seemed impossible, not only because of the strict parents' rules and because their schedules were never close. But because apparently Y/N's father had a really bad opinion of Jeno. Y/N and Jeno's dad worked together, that's why the Lee family moved in across the street, a big promotion at work and there they were, in the same neighborhood, the same street. Jeno's father was talking to Y/N's father about his son, and all Y/N heard from his father was that he was bad news.
"Mr. Lee said his son got into trouble at school. He hit a classmate, what kind of guy does that?" Y/N's father looked indignant and she swallowed her food harder, feeling her throat clog. Jeno didn't seem aggressive that day when he held Tommy, but of course she would never say that in front of her father because he would have a whirlwind of questions as well as scolding. She already knew her father's speech, so she was silent as he told her how bad Jeno was. So this was how good girls felt about bad guys? Confused but tempted to get to know them even more? Jeno had such a beautiful smile, she couldn't see him punching someone unless he had a good reason to. People don't punch each other for no reason, right? “Did you hear, Y/N?” she heard her father speak and raised her head to face him, everyone still waiting for an answer from her. "What?" "Stay away from him, you're not the right girl for that kind of guy." he warned and she just shook her head. Unfortunately, for the first time in her life, she didn't want to hear what her father was saying.
Later that day, when everyone else had gone to bed, Tommy woke Y/N to let her know that he had done his business and she only understood that the place would need to be washed when she went downstairs. Tommy was very hygienic and wouldn't sleep until his environment was clean, which meant he wouldn't let Y/N sleep. "Dad will kill me if he finds out I'm awake at this hour." she looked back at the kitchen clock and sighed. Eleven at night and there she was cleaning the dog rug because it was fresh. "Just to clean up your mess, Tommy." The sister had probably failed to close the door to Tommy's place. She shook her head, heading outside through the back door and washing the rug as she left Tommy in his place. As she yawned and the water fell, she saw movement in the house across the street. Curious, she craned her head until she could see Jeno sneaking out of the house with his hand over the face. She watched him sit on the sidewalk, his arms braced on his knees and his head down as he seemed to talk to himself. Y/N put the water and Tommy's rug aside when she saw Jeno's injured hands, on impulse she walked out of the back of the house and crossed the street carefully so as not to make any noise that could wake the parents. She felt her whole body shake as he looked up to see who had approached, not just because of her thin pajamas but also because of his eyes. They were just as intense, but this time there was a bruise near his eyebrow that made her heart clench. They were silent for a while, Y/N had her arms behind her and was playing with her fingers while Jeno looked at her curiously. “Do you want help with the bruises?” she asked quietly, pointing to his face, Jeno lowered his gaze for a while, pondering. "I don’t want to bother." he replied sincerely, looking back at her in time to see her smile slightly. “It wouldn’t be kind of me to leave my neighbor without a bandage.” Y/N didn't know where that courage was coming from, or maybe the lack of shame, but she wanted to help Jeno in some way and also get closer. Even in the dead of night, hidden from her parents. It was the only opportunity she could find. Jeno laughed softly and got up from the sidewalk, getting a little closer to Y/N who stared at him wordlessly. Should guys look good even with a bruise on their face? She nodded to him and walked back to the house, followed by him, entered the back door and indicated the kitchen stool for him to sit on while she went to get the first-aid kit that her mother kept in the living room. When she came back, Jeno was sitting and watching her intently, her legs were shaking and that was why she climbed on the bench to stand taller than him and clean the wound. She took what she needed and turned to take a better look at him, she swallowed hard when realized how close she was to him. Maybe it was a bad idea but why did it feel so right? Subtly, she placed a hand on his face and Jeno chuckled low. "What's it?" she asked quietly, trying not to let herself be mesmerized by him. "Your hand is cold." he whispered and she smiled shyly. Y/N's other hand began to work on the bruise on his eyebrow. "Forgive me." she spoke and Jeno closed his eyes for a brief moment, as if to say that everything was fine. It took a lot of self-control for her not to shift her attention to his inviting eyes, especially when he was breathing so close to her. Everything was going fine when suddenly, Jeno brought both hands to her waist, the thin Y/N pajamas didn't stop her from feeling the heat of his palms on her skin, making a shiver go up her spine. “Is it okay if I do this?” he asked, the low tone in which they spoke was making the whole room that much warmer and more tempting. "Yes." she replied weakly, not taking her eyes off his eyebrow even though his gaze on her burned her insides. But in a good, very good way. It was more than okay, she wanted to say. After she thought it was enough, Y/N removed her hand and the dirty cotton, she discarded it on the countertop and took a band aid, she put it on the wound and without realizing it, her fingers made a gentle caress on the skin. “Did you get hurt anywhere else?” she asked, pushing Jeno's hands away. In her peripheral vision, she saw he nodded and waited for him to say where. But that didn't happen. In fact, Jeno got up from the stool, standing at the same height as her face and she swallowed hard once more, she didn't even know her body could produce so much saliva that way, until she felt her skin quickly cool down after his hands left her waist. She kept her eyes lowered and Jeno lifted his shirt over his head and left his torso bare. Simple like that. Her eyes widened of their own volition and even in the dark, she knew he could probably see that she was blushing. No, rather, her whole face had turned into a real tomato. She opened her mouth a few times but no sound came out until she saw a bandage near his ribs. His ribs weren't the only thing she noticed, his thin, pale waist, his abs that were defined but not overly defined like she'd seen in movies, was perfect. With shaking hands, she touched the bandage that was smeared with blood, Jeno jumped when her still cold hands touched his skin. "Sorry." she grimaced and glared at him quickly, Jeno laughed but raised his arms so she had better access. Y/N took off the bandage slowly, afraid of hurting him even more, and felt a pain when he saw the cut still open. Quickly she took a new cotton to clean that area too and took the same care with that bruise, in silence she took care of that region, doing the same as she did with the bruise on his face, even the almost imperceptible caressing in his skin when she finished. "I think it's over now." she announced even though it wasn't necessary and looked at him quickly. Jeno turned until he was facing her, with a smile that lit up more than the moon. “Thank you so much for your nursing skills.” Y/N felt her cheeks burn even more and felt his hot fingers on her chin, causing her to lift her head and their eyes to meet. "Thank you for taking care of me." he was being so sincere it took her by surprise. It was almost as if no one had done it for him. "I just didn't want it to hurt any more." she pressed her lips together in a thin line, uncertain. "It didn't just hurt me." he admitted and she looked at him confused. "The guy I beat up, he sure is worse than I am." “What… what happened?” she clasped her hands, not sure if he would like to talk about it, let alone with her. “I thought the neighborhood already knew.” he accused and she shrugged. “The part where you hit someone, yes.” Jeno shook his head and took a deep breath before starting. “I didn't hit someone because I like fights. I don't like bullies. A guy was making fun of one of my friends for being short, I didn't want to get involved until he pushed Renjun for being quiet. I know I went too far, but I only did it to protect my friend. You don't know how harmful schoolmates can be.” Oh, actually Y/N did. There were bullies at her school too, by sheer luck none of them had messed with her yet. But even if it was inappropriate, she smiled upon hearing it. She liked Jeno's courage, she had to admit that. Few people faced bullies, most were always afraid, but apparently not Jeno. “Did you hit him a lot?” she asked curiously and that caught Jeno's attention. He looked at her almost as if he couldn't believe she had liked it. "I broke his nose." he admitted, through no fault of his own, and she smiled. “I admire those who defend those who need it. Daddy don't hear me say that but it served the bully right.” she chuckled low and Jeno smiled. He approached, placing his hands on the bench beside Y/N's body, who stopped laughing instantly. He was too close. Dangerously close, as no other boy has been before. "Why would a good girl like you help a bad guy like me?" his breath hit her face, and she had to blink a few times. But is it possible that even his breath was attractive? "You're not bad!" Jeno smirked and brought his torso forward, causing Y/N to take back or else their noses would touch. Not that she didn't want to, it was just pure instinct. “And how do you know?” “Because I watch you.” she responded quickly and regretted it instantly. She didn't want to look like a stalker. Jeno kept his smile and raised an eyebrow. "That's good to know because I'm watching you too." he replied and no matter how shy she was, Jeno's bright eyes held her there and she couldn't take the attention away from them. It was like looking up close at the stars. "When you're studying in your room all afternoon or when you're chasing Tommy around the room because he took a sock from you." Y/N bit her lip to contain her silly smile. Mom always warned that when Y/N and her sister got home from school, they needed to leave the curtains open so the house would be brighter. Apparently Jeno enjoyed watching her as much as she watched him. “Can I do something?” he whispered and she just nodded, didn't even have the strength to answer. Slowly, as if the world was spinning in their time, Jeno brought a hand to her warm cheek and brought his face closer to hers, which didn't back down this time, she felt her heart beat against her ribs but she didn't want to do anything but look at it. Unlike what she thought at first, he placed a soft, wet kiss on her other cheek, making her close her eyes to just feel the contact. His heavy breath hit her skin, sending another shiver down her spine and only stopped when he pulled away, forcing her to open her eyes again to see that he was millimeters away from breaking the distance she had been hating. "Jeno, I..." she spoke weakly and he stood there, so close that their lips brushed against each other as she spoke. "What?" She didn't know how to say it, never imagined she would be in that kind of situation inside her parents' kitchen, but she wanted so badly to satisfy her wildest desires. "I...have no experience." was what she managed to say and if Jeno was further away, he wouldn't hear as her voice didn't come out at the end. Even admitting it out loud, she didn't have that much confidence at the moment and wanted to look away from him but the hand that was still holding her cheek also remained, so she could see that his gaze didn't change. He was still looking at her with a twinkle in his eye, not the way her friends said guys would look at a girl when she assumed she hadn't kissed before as if she was a trophy. But with Jeno it was different from the beginning. "If you don’t want-" "I do." she confessed, too quickly. She didn't want to give him time to pull away, because it felt so good to have him there so close, his wide hand on her cheek emitting a warmth she'd never felt before, so comforting. Jeno blinked in agreement, and the hand that was on her cheek went up to her eyebrow and down all over her eye, silently indicating for her to close and that's what she did. Breathing hard, she just waited, feeling his hand return to her cheek. It was a soft touch that tickled Y/N's lips a little, but it was enough for her to feel her whole body trembling. Not from the cold because of the pajamas but from anxiety. His lips were soft and full, she just felt all the passion she thought a kiss should have as he moved forward, capturing her lips with desire that made her sigh. Y/N, not knowing what to do, felt that Jeno directed the hand that was on her cheek to the back of her neck and brought her closer as she tried to imitate his movements, even though every little hair on her body stood up when he grabbed her by the back of her neck and that her heart was now warming in a unique and different way. But she lost herself completely, giving herself up for good, when she felt his tongue on her lips and she opened her mouth for the kiss to become deeper, even though unsure if she was doing it right, she took the opportunity to place her hands on his shoulder. While his free hand went to her thigh, moving down to her calf and pulling her closer to his waist., Y/N got the message and did the same with the other leg, hugging him completely and feeling a gigantic fire grow. It was as if they had gone from a simple spark to pure lava. The hand that was on her cheek went down her spine, making her sigh against his lips and even though she felt short of breath, she didn't want to stop. Jeno brought both hands to her waist and without them noticing, he leaned over and put light pressure on her to lie down on the counter. Jeno broke the kiss and ragged breath met as well as eyes. Although Y/N wanted to kiss him again, she had enjoyed so much the sensation and the way her body had reacted, but she didn't have the strength. Her hands were shaking as she felt the warm, soft skin between her palms and the way he was looking at her was mesmerizing, she didn't want to do anything but continue like this. Hugging him, feeling every inch of her body being dominated by Jeno. He brought a hand up to her face and gently caressed her face, and she closed her eyes. However, they became alert when a noise was heard upstairs. Y/N pushed Jeno away, feeling extremely cold, as he searched for his shirt to put it on again. She took the box and threw it in the first drawer she found and heard footsteps at the top of the stairs, she knew that steady walk and felt panic. "It’s my dad." the voice didn't come out but Jeno managed to read her lips and tried to run to the back door as she pushed him apprehensively. Jeno took her hand quickly and she looked at him, she didn't want him to leave but if her father found her there with him, shirtless… things would be worse than they already were. Y/N took turns looking between the stairs and Jeno, not knowing what to say, she just nodded for him to go just before they were discovered. He did, rushing through the back doors as she sighed. “Daughter, what are you doing up at this hour?” she jumped in shock and turned around to find her father standing in the doorway to the kitchen. She swallowed, afraid her father might have seen Jeno there. "I… heard a noise." “Me too, stay here. I'll see outside.” she nodded as her father walked past her and headed outside the house the same way Jeno had come. Y/N clasped her hands together nervously and turned to wait for her father, hoping Jeno had time to hide. When her father returned, she felt her heart stop in her throat. "It's okay, let's go back to sleep." he announced as he closed the back door and Y/N took a deep breath, thanking for being saved this time. She went in front of her father and said good night as she was about to close her bedroom door, received an answer and closed it, feeling relieved that her father hadn't found Jeno there. If they had continued to kiss, they would hardly have heard the older man on the stairs and then they would have been screwed. Just with the memory of that moment, she smiled and brought her hand to her lips, she could still feel the texture of Jeno's lips. She wanted to laugh, when she would have imagined that the first kiss would be with someone like Jeno. But she didn't regret it, it had been better than she had even dreamed of. Before going back to bed, she appeared at the window and her smile widened when she saw Jeno standing on the sidewalk of his house. He seemed to expect her to appear at the window. He pointed his finger at her, then he motioned as if were going to sleep and then pointed to himself. As soon as she understood what he meant, she blushed and nodded, waving her hand goodbye before walking away. Jeno was right, she would dream about him that night. And in all the others to come. [...] The weeks passed and it became routine for the two to meet secretly at night when the whole street was asleep. Although Y/N hated lying to her parents, it wasn't like she could tell that she was liking Jeno, or that they made out when given the opportunity. She knew the rules and even respected them, but she could no longer follow them. Sleep early to have a good day at school? She didn't. Pay attention in class? No, all she could think about was Jeno. Study during the afternoon in her room? Impossible, she really liked to look at him through the window. And being in the kitchen of the house reminded her of the night they had their first kiss. In short, everything she did was reminiscent of Jeno. As rumors about him passed from mouth to mouth down the street, Y/N's mouth was too busy kissing his. It wasn't a difficult task for her to get involved more than she should have, Jeno was captivating, the complete opposite of the bad boy the neighborhood insisted on labeling him. But none of that mattered to Y/N as when realized she was already terribly in love with Jeno and without being able to tell anyone. Apparently, now she understood why Juliet had fought so hard to live her love with Romeo. Jeno made everything easier, including her breaking some rules, spending time with him meant forgetting about the complicated world even for a few hours. She trusted him with her biggest secrets, like her desire to skydive or read erotic books, and Jeno did the same. The feeling there was mutual and soon it became difficult to control and hide. Y/N was in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for her sister who was taking a shower upstairs. "Hey." she heard the familiar voice and looked in the direction, smiling to see that Jeno was there. "Hey." she dropped the glass on the table and walked over to him. Jeno opened his arms and she promptly threw herself on him, feeling him hug her tight and also how sweaty he was. “Did you leave school early?” “Yep, we had training for the games, the coach always releases us early.” he explained and Y/N moved away, smiling. She would like to see Jeno training soccer, he was one of the main players on the team, he even won some championships. "Since I didn't see your dad's car out front, I assumed you were alone." spoke as he raised one of his hands to the back of her neck. Y/N's reaction to the contact was the same as the first time he'd done it, a shiver running through her spine. Jeno leaned down to kiss her softly and she kissed him back, tasting the salty sweat. Although she had imagined that she would hate it in the future, with Jeno she actually liked it. Seeing him sweaty did things to her body that she'd never felt before, especially in a certain area of her body. “Hmm.” she pulled away, sensing that he wasn't pleased they ended the kiss so quickly, and placed her hand on his shoulder. "My sister is there." Jeno sighed. "Can't you lock her in her room for like five minutes?" he asked with a cute face and she laughed softly. "You have 10 minutes until she gets back." she warned, seeing him smile widely, his eyes almost closing completely in the way she adored. "So it's a great opportunity to let you know that Mark got that cabin from his parents." brought his mouth close to her ear and spoke softly. “All weekend. Just for the two of us.” It wasn't just a shiver that Y/N felt, it seemed to be a whole wave of electricity that landed on a fixed point on her body. A point that Jeno seemed to tease unknowingly with each passing day. Y/N took a deep breath as lowered her head, it was a tempting offer. All she wanted was to be alone with Jeno, in peace and away from everyone else. But the reality was quite different from what she wanted. "You know my parents would never let me go away for a whole weekend." remembered and her hands went down to Jeno's biceps. She was ready to pull away from his embrace when he pressed her against his body even tighter, anticipating what she would do. “We can find a way.” "How? Because I won't be able to lie to them about it.” “Do you want to tell the truth about us?” he asked and she was silent. It would be the right choice, that's what they should have done from the start. “Jeno, my father hates you. He's going to freak out if he knows I'm in love with a boy like you.” she shook her head, already imagining the scene without having realized what she had said. In fact, only noticed when she saw that Jeno was staring at her in surprise. “Are you in love with me?” Oops, she wasn't meant to be loud. Oh, you know what, fuck it! "I am!" she admitted, shrugging her shoulders. Jeno smiled widely and hugged her tighter, this time lifting her off the ground for a moment. He planted a few kisses on her cheek while she just laughed. "Then trust me." he put her back on the floor and held her by the face, making her stare intensely. "Because I'm in love with you too." She couldn't hide her big smile and didn't even want to. It was the confession she needed. “As for your father hating me-” "He doesn't just hate you." she interrupted him, putting her arms around his neck. "He hates your hair." she ran her hand over the strands, which were now bleached yellow. "You like pulling it when I'm kissing your neck." he shrugged. "His opinion is irrelevant." "He hates your bold ways." “You don't complain when my bold hands are on your thigh. Irrelevant again.” "He hates it when you're singing in the street with your friends." “You love that I sing very close to your ear.” Jeno leaned up to her ear and blew against her skin, causing Y/N to squeeze even tighter. Jeno was right about everything. "You know what?" he pulled away, looking at her again. "Fuck what your father says."

I can see max being quite protective of you and is often there whenever a classmate or her brother is giving you trouble. She’s loves to watch movies and eat snacks with you or just eating snacks together. She definitely teases you with a smile on her face thinking about how cute you look when you make a fake annoyed face at her. She loves going to amusement parks with you and getting on scary roller coasters and laughs about how scared you look.
She very much does enjoy her time with you wether it be the silly and goofy stuff or the legit kinda romantic stuff. She’s all for trying something new if you want to wether it be new food or a new place that just opened up. Max loves it when she can talk to you about Billy or just something she’s frustrated on and when you comfort her she can’t help but smile. She puts a lot of trust and respect into you so often she tries not to yell or cuss if you reason with her now to.
Spending time with her is often very fun like going to the mall shopping or getting clothes she’s also really good at making you feel better especially when your down or had a bad day. She’s full of fun and just wants you to have the best experiences with her possible. You guys laugh a lot your the dynamic that when one of you look at each other you both laugh a lot of inside jokes between you too is pretty often.
She hates when Billy tries to get involved and when she has enough of him trying to push you away from her she’ll take matter into her own hands since you just may be the best things that’s happened to her since she’s moved to Hawkins. She’s all for showing you tricks on her skateboard that she’s still learning but most of the time you’ll have to watch her for her so she doesn’t fall. She enjoys the little cute dates you guys have it could be at a park enjoying ice cream or any snack of that kind or just in her room reading comics and discussing random topics that you guys are interested in. She is annoyed with everyone else but you she’ll always smile when your around and finds you company very comforting.

El loves to be close to you and even loves matching with you wether it be outfits or accessories she loves the cute couple type thing. Even though you guys are dating you still have a type of bff thing going on. Whenever girl problems come to her she always calls you since she trusts you a lot. You guys’s dates will mostly be small but cute things like hanging out on the beach and enjoying each other’s presence. Enjoys sharing meals with you and trying your food as well or you introducing her to new foods and having a full day dedicated to trying new foods.
She loves to gift you little things that she makes for you like a drawing or a little crochet heart. She’s is definitely clingy and loves to have her arm around yours and her head on your shoulder she finds it peaceful. She also hates when you guys come to disagreements and will even cry after thinking that your furious and her and might end things so when she sees you at school she’ll wave you down and try to make things better. She’ll even be crying while apologizing and will be so relieved and joyful when you say you forgive her.
Her separation anxiety tends to strike her when you go somewhere like a party without her scared that you may forget about her and when you do come back she’ll be all over you cuddling and smiling. She’s always at her happiest when with you she may even ask someone else like for relationship advice or how to keep you happy. Whenever you sad or just down she’s always the first person to ask about you and spam calls on your house phone.
God forbid if you ever get hurt or end up in the hospital she’ll be shaking and having nightmares on what could continue to go wrong for you. So when you heal you’ll have to let her know and see you before anyone else she just has that type of motherly love for you. She’ll always charge at any monster before they even come close to you. And thinking about fuels her anger. So she always wants to be around you and checks up on you often and asks your parents about you as well.

tagged by @cinematicnomad to post 7 comfort movies. (i would like you to know i struggle with lists like this because my autistic brain very much wants me to be AS PRECISE AS POSSIBLE and i only learned very recently that neurotypical people don’t worry about that?? they just…answer without worrying if they’re picking their top 7 comfort movies?? they just…pick 7 movies and move on with their life?? wild.)
1. spotlight. kat and i have this one in common, and for good reason - it’s just so. damn. satisfying. people who do bad things get called out on their bad stuff and people who had been ignored get heard. it’s (in my opinion) one of the most re-watchable dramas out there. and man…such a good cast.
2. howl’s moving castle. look, probably most of the studio ghibli movies could make this list, but howl is the one i turn to the most because the whimsical, fun, warm vibes of this movie feel like a HUG. the growth of all of the characters makes me smile and you just want to FALL into this movie. i absolutely want to take a walk through some hills and find myself at the door of a wacky castle with a super hot wizard, thanks very much.
3. major league. i asked my younger brother once how many times we’ve seen this movie and he laughed and said, “oh man…at least a couple dozen.” you have to understand this movie is a solid piece of the foundation of my childhood. we only had the basic stations when i was a kid and this movie was on on saturday afternoons constantly. CONSTANTLY. i can probably quote the entire thing from memory. there’s something about a baseball movie that always makes me feel like i’m living in an endless summer afternoon, like i have nowhere else to go, nothing else to do. it’s an unsurpassed vibe: just baseball and a warm afternoon that never ends.
4. 10 things i hate about you. another endlessly quotable movie - and one i share with my sister. also our dad loves it - and quotes it to me too. there isn’t a lot to say for this one other than sometimes a movie comes along and it’s just yours, you know? this is one of mine. when my sister had her oldest child i bought her a tiny red izod polo shirt and she immediately asked, “did you buy this from an outlet mall?” YES. I ABSOLUTELY DID AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN PROUDER RO BE YOUR SISTER THAN IN THIS MOMENT, RIGHT NOW.
5. rudy. if there’s something i think everyone needs to know about me, it’s this: i love inspirational sports movies. LOVE THEM. absolutely cannot get enough. do i know exactly what the filmmaker is doing to me every time i hear sweeping music and someone starts running in slo-mo? oh yeah. abso-fucking-lutely. do i care? not the smallest bit. in fact i lean into that shit. rudy is one of the best ones and it also gets extra bonus points because for a long time it was the only movie i ever cried at. that’s not hyperbole. people would refuse to watch it with me because i’d always be reduced to a blubbering mess by the end. HE’S SO LITTLE. AND THEY CARRY HIM OFF THE FIELD. give me a break. i’m not made of stone.
6. steel magnolias. the hallmarks of this list are a) i have watched this movie at least a dozen times, b) this movie has a VIBE, and c) this movie is insanely quotable. this movie passes all three with flying colors. the cast is absolutely stellar, and this community of women who love and support each other is just…THE ACTUAL BEST. but also: it has dolly. DOLLY. “what size shoe do you wear?” “well, i wear a size six, but a seven feels so good, i buy a size eight.” perfection. PERFECTION.
7. ocean’s eleven. you know how i love an inspirational sports movie? I LOVE A HEIST MOVIE. like LOVE. the whole genre is smart and fun, and ocean’s eleven is also stylish and funny and just a fantastic fucking time. it has an insane cast and a great soundtrack and it’s just so GOOD. so so good. it’s a film told with a wink that manages to carry the best part of 50s/60s swag into the 00s, and we are all the better for it.
i tag: @tattooedsiren, @machtaholic, @smowkie , @itsactuallycorrine , @caroandcats , @elisela , and @missanniewhimsy and whoever else wants to do this. it’s a fun one.

Things have been fairly normal since the whole “supervillain getting in Jamil’s head and making him attack everyone” incident. Dagger is still a near-weekly problem, along with Meltdown and whoever else he happens to be hanging out with at the moment. Other villains come and go, too, some low-level Supers like Reaper and Gibbous, along with non-Super nuisances that the team does their best to curb, too - bank robbers and muggers and kidnappers and such.
No one has heard anything from or about Luna. Then again, no one had heard of her before the incident, either. Which means she’s probably still out there, and could very well be biding her time until she can strike again. None of them ever really talk about her, but Liliana can feel anxiety hanging in the air that wasn’t there before, especially on poor Jamil’s part.
Luna knows exactly where they live, what they look like without their masks on. Probably knows their names and where they work, thanks to rummaging through Jamil’s brain. So not only could she easily return, but she could also tell others the information she learned. They don’t know who she might be associated with. They managed to pin down Reaper one day and quiz him about her and any other new villains in town, but he was less than helpful on the subject.
Even if they could track her down and catch her, Liliana has learned from snippets of conversation that they really have nothing to do with her. It’s something she’s never thought of before, but one reason that there are still so many supervillains around is that there’s no way to arrest them. The government likely could detain them, but no one trusts that it would be humane or that the heroes wouldn’t also be captured in the process of trying to hand them over. Just the thought of the government locking them up makes Liliana sick to her stomach, villains or not.
Normal jails can’t handle them. Normal courtrooms can’t, either, in order to convict them to send them to jail. And no hero wants to be in charge of locking them away themselves, even if they did have the space and technology.
So all they can do for now is damage control, really. Try to stop their crimes as often as they can, try to disrupt whatever plans they have. She doesn’t envy the team their jobs. Between supervillains, regular criminals, and their day jobs, they’re constantly busy.
Every other Saturday, though, after everyone who’s working gets home, they make it a point to go do something together. Since Liliana’s been with them they’ve seen a couple of movies, gone to an arcade, had a picnic, gone to the mall, and eaten out at restaurants a few times. Every experience is a huge deal for her, though she tries to make light of the awe she feels. It’s just been so long since she’s done such normal, fun things. Sometimes she feels like she’s watching someone else’s life.
Today, they’re at the city park. No one can remember whose idea it was to start with, but “the children” - as Quinn likes to fondly dub Nari, Alex, and Jamil - went crazy over the thought of playing on the playground, so here they are. It’s late enough that all of the actual children have gone home. Jamil is trying out every slide, while Quinn judges Nari and Alex in a series of competitions on the monkey bars. Liliana watches everyone from the side, a small smile on her face, but every once in a while she glances over at the empty swings.
Swinging used to be her favorite. Especially on park or school swings like these, with the long chains that could take you so high you felt like you were flying. She and Mila used to see who could go the highest, and try to swing themselves right over the top bar.
It feels silly and childish now. She can’t swing herself right now, anyway. She healed another broken rib - on Nari this time - earlier this week, just a couple of weeks after the pain from Alex’s had finally faded. So there’s no way that she can pump the chains on a swing.
Still…she could just sit in one. That won’t hurt anything. Glancing over at the chin-up contest again, she makes her way over and settles into the plastic seat, gloved hands gripping the chains loosely. Her toes just barely reach the ground, giving her enough leverage that she can give herself a little push. The swing rocks gently. Liliana watches her sneakers as they brush across the dirt, back and forth. She pushes again and swings a little more. Such a simple motion, but it brings so many childhood memories flooding into her mind.
“May I give you a push?”
The sudden question makes her jump and look back over her shoulder, though she recognizes the voice. Jamil is standing behind her with a smile on his face, cheeks flushed from his adventures down the slides.
“Oh, um…y-you don’t have to, I’m…I’m fine.”
“I know I don’t have to, but I’d like to, if you’d like to swing. If not, I’ll leave you be!”
Now her mind is at war. She automatically wants to say no, not wanting to inconvenience him or make him do things for her.
She also really, really wants to swing.
Somehow, without her actually deciding what to say, “Sure?” slips out.
“Alright, hang on!”
Suddenly, she’s flying through the air, and it’s exactly how she remembers it. Colors rush by as the wind blows her curls back off her shoulders, then tangles them around her cheeks again. She grabs onto the chains tighter. Her legs automatically fall into a pumping motion, toes pointing out at the horizon, her eyes bright with exhilaration.
Yes, it pulls at her rib a bit. But she finds she doesn’t really care.
She’s been swinging for a few minutes, oblivious to anything else around her, when another voice breaks in. “Hold on tight, I’m coming through!” A set of hands grab the swing by her hips and shove forward, higher and faster until she’s sure she actually is going to go over the top bar, or more likely, fall out the back of the swing. She squeals in shock, though this sensation is familiar, too. Then she’s dropped abruptly, her stomach following the motion, the swing’s momentum twisting it back and forth as it reaches the bottom again.
Alex is turned around watching her, laughing. He’d come up from behind and grabbed the swing, running all the way underneath it.
Her brother used to do the very same thing, back when she was small enough he could lift her.
“Did I scare you?”
“A, a little.” She’s smiling, though. She can’t help it, even with the pain in her side and the melancholy of missing what used to be.
These people…they treat her like a family should. Better than her family ever did, though she feels like a traitor for thinking it.
She shouldn’t fall for it. If her real family taught her anything, it’s that what seems like love and care won’t last and can’t be trusted. If her own flesh and blood eventually turned on her, then she can’t expect people who were strangers a few months ago to be any different.
But right now, she’s shoving those thoughts deep, deep down. She can worry about all of that later. Right now, for once, she’s going to let herself enjoy the moment.
Nari is shoving and punching Alex and playfully fussing at him for scaring Liliana, and Jamil has jumped up on the swing next to her, standing on one foot and pumping with his arms. She doesn’t move from her spot, just keeps smiling and watching their antics. They’re so full of life and joy, even with the stress they constantly face.
Before long Quinn takes up Jamil’s position without a word, and she’s swinging again. Alex and Jamil balance on the seesaw, attempting circus tricks, screaming like girls when Nari uses her power to make the metal move beneath them, which sends her into fits of laughter.
It’s late when they finally pile into Quinn’s car to head back to HQ. Everyone is tired in a contented way. Alex leans the passenger seat back practically into Nari’s lap, claiming he’s going to take a nap, while she kicks his headrest repeatedly and threatens him. Quinn clears his throat loudly, though, and quiet falls to let him focus and not overwhelm him with sound in the small space.
Liliana leans her head back and watches the moon out the sunroof. Her hands are tucked between her knees to keep her arms from brushing up against Jamil and Nari, who each lean into their respective doors to give her more space. It’s…peaceful. She’s pretty sure she hears someone snoring. She could fall asleep, too, honestly, which is surprising for her since she doesn’t usually feel comfortable sleeping unless she’s alone.
The motion of the car does lull her into a near-dozing state. Her eyes are closed and she’s absentmindedly trying to picture which turn they’re taking when someone gasps and the car suddenly jerks to one side. Liliana’s eyes fly open and she sits up abruptly. There’s a bump and a loud popping and hissing sound, then the car is swerving uncontrollably, headlights sweeping back and forth across the empty road.
The seconds seem to pass in slow motion. Her hands are gripping the seats in front of her, eyes fixated out the front windshield. A cacophony of screams and shouted words fill the car as the steeply sloped side of the road looms in front of them, cutting off abruptly as they tip over the side and begin to fall.
Gravity inverts, and for a moment she’s weightless before being slammed back down. Her temple smashes into something hard and unyielding. Images are swimming through the darkness around her - a cracked window, slumped figures. A beam of light making her wince and turn away.
Someone groans. The car shakes as a door is forced open.
“This one’s still awake.”
“Here, use the syringe.”
There’s movement around her, the click of seatbelts unbuckling too loud in her ears.
“Wait, why are there five?”
“What?”
“This one, who is she? She’s not one of the usuals, is she?”
“Doesn’t matter, just grab her.”
Something is very, very wrong, but she can’t make her body work to do anything about it. The darkness outside is creeping closer inward. She feels her seatbelt loosen and a pair of hands latch onto her, but the darkness closes in completely before she can protest.

⛄️first snow. [billie eilish x fem!reader]

summary: (y/n) and billie have been dating since spring and have their first snowfall together! [established relationship.]

Tumblr media
i wake up to billie not at my side. the print of where she slept that night, and many nights by now, was dented into my bed, her body heat barley there. she’d been gone for awhile. i turned my head and squinted against the loudness of the bright powdery scene illuminating the inside of my room through the window.
it had snowed a good 8-9 inches last night, leaving a thin layer of white on everything outside it had touched. my bedroom window showed off it’s cold windy view. what a good start to late November. the air from outside pushed at my window pane, i could almost feel the coolness in my room. my black out curtains were drawn back, not how i sleep so i knew my lover had been here too. i imagined her pulling back the curtains through my heavy sleep, being excited and thrilled at the snow, being originally from California, only seeing it once and awhile during family holidays.
i felt myself almost lightly jog across the wood paneled floor, giddily grinning to tell my girlfriend news she obviously observed herself that morning. it was like a fun game to see where she was first; the kitchen making cereal, all she knew how to for breakfast, in the bathroom humming melodically in the shower or splayed across the couch in the living room, waiting for me to meet her.
finding her in the kitchen made me smile. her hoodie went down to her bare mid-thighs, so she wouldn’t be walking around completely naked although i constantly tell her i would never mind. dropping two spoons into individual coffee cups on the counter, she then turned to face me holding them.
“i made hot coco, princess.” a full grin, displaying her perfect row of teeth. i giggled as i took the mug and brought up to my face to feel the hot steam cascade over it. the smell of chocolate whispered into my nose. i closed my eyes and hummed audibly. it was way too hot to drink but it felt good in my hands. billie sipped hers and pretended like it wasn’t burning from being fresh out the microwave.
emotions started to flow ontop of me. i started thinking about how i was in my kitchen with my girlfriend who had prepared me hot cocoa first thing in the morning; it was like a hallmark movie. it made my heart feel warm, i felt like kissing her and wrapping her in my arms, which i knew she wouldn’t mind, but i settled for a kiss on her forehead instead. she looked at me like she doesn’t know what it’s for. as if she’s not the best girlfriend in the world right now. she blows before she sips this time. stealing quick glances over to me to see if i’m drinking mine.
“do you wanna go outside?” i say with a wince, the warm drink stinging against my lips from my cautious sip. her blue eyes lit up and widened. she set her cup down practically skipping to my room to throw on clothes from her overnight bag. i guess it was a yes. i opened the curtains wider in the living room as if to see if the weather had infected every part of my apartment complex, and sure enough it had.
pictures of me and billie we had took on polaroid cameras, and our phones were taped in a heart shape over my old but welcoming couch. i scanned our collection of photo booth strips from the mall with pure adoration. i had no right to be feeling like i was falling in love all over again. we had already done so much together, even though we started dating in april. it was our first snow together and all i could do was thinking about seeing something i’d seen a million times with my favorite person for the first time.
she came out the room with a black beanie, layered sweatpants and beaten down sneakers . her hoodie had been finally concocted into an outfit after she’d been wearing it without anything since she had came over in grey sweatpants that obviously had been turned into shorts through scissors. she playfully threw her fists to her hips, a nod of her head said she was ready. i tried to hurry and get dressed, just leggings, a shirt, boots and my fuzzy winter coat. she dragged her feet against the hardwood, to the front door welcome mat. we held hands of matching nail polish while we giggled excitedly downstairs to our cold endeavor.
as soon as we got outside, the wind brushed against my face, eliminating what little body heat i had left. strings billies’ grey hair flied against the wind. she squinted her ice blue eyes to try to battle the air, her hand still tightly in mine, the only warmth besides the inside of our coats. she walked with me down the small makeshift path previous footsteps had made. the wind wasn’t bad when you got used to it. billie paused us to throw snow into the air and let it land overtop of our heads. clumps of snowflakes fell into her lashes.
as it fell down and was pushed by gusts of air, she grabbed me and pulled me in close by the waist. i gasped before letting out a laugh. she smiled at me, her eyes low and droopy.
“i must say madam,” she brushed my hair from my face. “the snow irradiates your skin.” she had thrown on the dumb old british accent to be flirtatious. i rolled my eyes with a grin that was hurting my cheeks from staying put so long. i couldn’t help it, even her stupidest jokes stroked happiness in me. she hugged me close and i pulled her in tighter like she might run away. like if i pulled her closer we’d melt into each-other and become one.
“when i was a kid,” she spoke, reaching down and a groan to scoop a wad of snow in her small hands. “my brother and i used to eat snow.” i listened intently, a feeling of nostalgia washing over me as she’d talked, even though i personally hadn’t gotten to eat things from outside with a sibling, she looked so happy when she talked about her brother and her childhood, it made me happy too. “never the yellow snow through.”she cringed and shuddered as if she’d seen it happen to a close friend of hers.
“whattt, no lemon flavor?” i joked, she laughed from her stomach and brought the snow to her mouth to bite. i watched her and could almost feel how cold her mouth got from how big of a piece she had eaten. she let it melt in her mouth a little before chewing and it dissipating.
“natures finest.” she put a new scoop of snow in her hand to hand to me. i put my coat sleeve over my palm to mock a glove and took it. inspecting it, feeling how heavy it was, essentially a snowball. “try it.” she watched me with puppy eyes of adoration. i licked it, then bit. curse my sucky enamel because the bottom of my teeth feeling the temperature sent a sharp shiver down my spine. i shuddered and got another bite because it wasn’t bad.
“water in a different form, amazing.” i was being sarcastic but i also was sincere. i enjoyed sharing this moment with her. “would be a shame if someone..” i weighed how heavy the ball of snow was in my hand. slowly shaping it into a ball and taking looks at billie with a evil grin. she shook her head rapidly.
“no way dude!” she stepped back putting her hands up, already on the defense. she dipped down slightly to grab her own powdery ammunition. “(y/n), don’t you dare.” her chucks slid across the snow packed ground. my mischievous expression only grew wider.
“what is it, baby? i’m not doing anything.” feening innocence. she keeps the snow in her palm for protection even though her palm is turning red and numb from the cold. i put the formed snowball in my covered hand behind my back for insurance as-well.
it felt almost like a old western-movie-show-down. i felt my heart beat with anticipation. who was gonna get the balls to throw first?not me, i don’t wanna be asking for it. billie had played outside way more than me as a kid. even if it wasn’t in snow, she just didn’t go down without a fight. i loved her competitiveness.
apparently, i had been asking for it. she threw her snowball down and i slowly brought my hand up, but before i know it she tackles me into the snow. i yelp and land on my back with her ontop of me, my hands instinctively going to lay on her thighs. she sits ontop of me with a smirk that’s up to no good.
“you thought i would give you the chance, (l/n?)” she shook her head with a snicker, waving her index finger from left to right. “tsk tsk.”
“you letting me over? wouldn’t dream of it o’connell.” i felt my lower pant leg begin to get wet so i left both of them up behind her. it brings her closer to me she leans against them like they’re the back of a chair. she beamed. the snow looking amazing against her skin and full pink lips. the black of her lashes looking even more dramatic with all the polarizing white around. “i don’t know whether to sneak attack or kiss you right now.” i thanked god for my coat protecting my head against the wet snowfield.
she crossed her arms. “you do not wanna have that fight, miss.” as if picking for me she learned down and kissed me, laying her full weight on top of me. i wrapped my arms around her waist and embraced her like it was my last. we laid in the snow for an extra five minutes locking lips like some cheesy movie. 8months with her only eternity to go.

Take a Chance on Me (Michael Kelso X Reader)
Masterlist
Request Something!
Summary: Senior year had been full of ups and downs for the gang. After having to convince some of your friends, you all go to the last dance of the year. Your ex-boyfriend Michael Kelso has a secret plan to get you back.
***
It was just another day in Eric Forman’s basement. Everyone sat in their unassigned assigned spots watching cartoons, wondering what to do for the weekend.
“We could go to the Hub,” Eric suggested, absentmindedly playing with Donna’s hair.
“Nah, we go there too much,” Hyde said. He tapped a random beat with his foot, trying to think. “We could go to the drive-in.”
“We have no money.” Fez countered. It was true; besides Jackie, the group was pretty broke.
“And all the movies there suck anyway,” Donna added.
“We could go to Spring Fling.” Kelso shrugged like he didn’t care about his own idea.
“Ew, I don’t wanna go to a stupid dance,” Hyde said with a sneer. You lit up, thinking about Kelso’s suggestion.
“You know, I bet it wouldn’t be that bad. It might be fun.” The others didn’t look too convinced. “Come on, guys. Spring Fling is the last event of the school year; we should go!” Jackie gasped, suddenly interested in the conversation. She turned in Hyde’s lap to face him, arms hooking around his neck.
“Oh, please, Steven, let’s go!”
“No, I don’t wanna.”
“Please.”
“Jackie, I don’t wanna go to a stupid dance.” Jackie pouted, staring down at him. After a moment, he broke, letting out a long sigh. “Fine.” She clapped with glee.
“See, guys, if Hyde’s gonna go, then it can’t be that bad.” You said. After a minute of thought, everyone agreed. Jackie jumped from Hyde’s lap, grabbing your and Donna’s wrists.
“Come on! You guys gotta help me pick out what to wear!”
***
After looking through her closet, Jackie decided she didn’t like any of her clothes enough to wear to Spring Fling. So the three of you loaded into your car and went to the mall.
“Oh my gosh, Y/n, you should get this. It’s totally your color.” Jackie said, holding a dress up to your view.
“Jackie, we’re here because you wanted to shop.”
“I know, but it’s so cute.” She held the dress against your body, and even though you didn’t necessarily need it, you did agree. “Michael would absolutely die.” You immediately pushed the dress away.
“No, he wouldn’t.”
“Yes, he would,” Donna interjected. “The entire ride to and from California, all he did was talk about you.” Now that surprised you.
Before he and Donna ran away to California in the summer, you and Michael Kelso had been dating for almost two years. But you had accidentally scared him off from talks of the future, your future together in particular. It broke your heart when he left without even a note. But miraculously, when he and Donna were brought back by Eric, you two remained good friends.
So the fact that the man who was supposed to love you and then abandoned you apparently only thought about you when he was gone was utterly baffling.
“Well, either way, I don’t care.” You responded. But you did care. And Donna and Jackie knew it too. Jackie held the dress to you again.
“At least try it on, Y/n. You’d look hot.”
“Fine.” You yanked the hanger out of her hand and stalked off to the fitting rooms. “But I’m not doing it for Kelso!”
***
You didn’t try the dress on for him, but Kelso was definitely part of the reason why you bought it. You and the girls got ready at your house while you waited for the guys to come pick you up. Part of you wanted to just go in your own car and meet them at the dance, but everyone insisted they go together.
A few honks alerted you and the girls that the boys were in the driveway waiting. You all rushed down the stairs and walked out to see Kelso’s van. He rolled down the window, sticking his head out.
“Y/n, you can come sit up front.” Jackie and Donna smirked, pushing you toward the front while they went to sit in the back. Kelso reached over to open the door for you, and you climbed in. Music played as he drove, everyone talking in the back. “You look pretty.” You were taken off guard by how shy he sounded. He glanced at you, borderline staring whenever you were at a stoplight.
“Thanks.” You looked at him, clearing your throat. “You look pretty too.” You wanted to slap yourself. You tried to compliment him back but didn’t know what to say. Before you could correct yourself, he grinned. He grinned the way he did when you complimented him when you were dating, equally shy and prideful from your attention.
“Thanks.”
The gym was filled by the time you got to the school. You were honestly surprised that this many people had come to a school event that wasn’t prom. But it seemed like everyone was having fun, especially with the live music. It seemed to be a group of underclassmen that didn’t have anything better to do.
“When can we leave?” Hyde immediately asked. Jackie slapped his arm, telling him to behave.
“We can’t leave yet hide.” Fez rolled his eyes as if Hyde had forgotten an important part of the night that would be happening at this dance. “We have to stay for when Kelso-”
“Hey, Fez, there’s a snack table. Go nuts.” Kelso interrupted, pushing his friend away. The rest of the group dispersed, leaving you and Kelso to dance, which was really just shifting your weight from foot to foot in time to the music.
“What was Fez talking about?” You asked. Kelso laughed nervously, waving his hand.
“Oh, nothing. We gave him some chocolate before we left, and you know how he gets.” Sensing he didn’t want to talk about it anymore, you nodded and pointed behind him.
“I think I’m gonna get some punch.”
“I’ll go with you.”
Like a shadow, Kelso stayed close to you for the rest of the night. But not in a weird way. In fact, it comforted you that he was near you like he used to be. He only left you to go to the bathroom, so now you waited for him in the crowd of friends and strangers. You were talking to Donna about something when she nudged your shoulder and pointed behind you towards the makeshift stage. You turned around confused but soon became horrified.
Michael Kelso was standing on stage, staring at you while he adjusted the height on the microphone stand, and the band behind him started playing a familiar tune.
“I’d like to dedicate this song to Y/n L/n.” He announced quickly before he ran out of intro music. He then went on to sing Take a Chance on Me from ABBA, smiling dumbly at you the entire time. For some verses, he would do little dances or act out the lyrics. He wasn’t bad, but he wasn’t necessarily good either. Everyone laughed, including the gang, but he didn’t care.
While Michael sang, you were hit with a flood of memories. This song played on the jukebox during your first date at the Hub. He was so nervous, which made you giggly because he had never acted so scared around you. That night, he walked you home and kissed you at the door; the rest was history.
It was a history that you wanted to keep buried. He had left you because he was scared about having a future with you, throwing away the good years between you when he ran to California.
But along with that history was your love for Michael Kelso. And everything was starting to come up to the surface.
Suddenly, he was standing in front of you. The song was over, and the band was now playing something else, distracting everyone around you, so you could only focus on each other.
“I want you back.” The statement hit you like a ton of bricks as if he hadn’t just dedicated a serenation to you of what you considered to be your song. “Please, Y/n. I want another chance.”
“You left me.” You don’t know why you said that. You wanted to say, ‘Yes, Michael Kelso, I’ll give you another chance because I never stopped loving you.’ But you guessed that your brain overrode your heart because it was supposed to know better.
“I know.” He sounded so sad and full of regret. “I freaked out.”
“You ran over 2,000 miles away.”
“I know.” Kelso started to sound defeated, which broke your heart. “I, I was scared. I didn’t think I was ready for anything after graduation. So when you started talking about life after high school, I realized I had no idea what to do.”
“Micah, please tell me there’s a ‘but.’” Calling him by the nickname only you would call him felt so natural, and he almost melted at the name like he used to. But he had to focus.
“But, when I was in California, I would try thinking about what I wanted to do if and when I came back to Point Place. And every time I had an idea, you were there. Every single time.”
You were speechless. In all the years you had known Michael, he was never this articulate or romantically outspoken with his feelings. Based on your expression, he knew you didn’t know what to say but would allow him to keep talking. So he did.
“I’m not going anywhere this time. I swear. I’ll get on my knees and beg you if I have to, Y/n. Please, all I need is one more chance.” He started to get nervous because you were still silent. You just stared at him. “Say something.”
“Okay.” It was quiet, and he shouldn’t have been able to catch it because of how loud and crowded the gym was, but he did. He grinned.
“Okay?” You nodded in confirmation.
“Okay.” You stood on your toes and threw yourself on him, arms around his neck and head buried in his shoulder. On instinct, Kelso wrapped his arms around your waist, slightly lifting you off the ground. You pulled your head up to look at him, noses bumping. “But just one chance.”
“That’s all I need, Baby.” He leaned forward and kissed you while you still dangled in the air. Your friends were probably freaking out at the sight, and other Spring Fling participants probably wished you would move because you were borderline making out on the dance floor. But none of that mattered. In your head, it was just you, Michael Kelso, and a new chance.
