Like I said already, I graduated high school this year. So naturally, because I'm somehow both lazy and busy at the same time, I don't draw anything for the occasion like I wanted to until the literal DAY before I start college. (Yeah, I'm not joking- my first day of college is tomorrow.)
Just because I've come this far since I joined Wattpad as a 7th grader doesn't mean I know how I did it. Oh, wait- yes I do. I do know. I guess I don't know my own brain. Anyway, it's because I had, and still do, a burning desire to reach out to you and tell you about all the silly little stuff I had on my mind. I also wanted to get to know people all around the cyber world who liked the same stuff I liked. (I hope I can find someone who does in my art college.) I wanted y'all to know that Unikitty and Minecraft: Story Mode were (and still are) my two most favorite things ever. For months, I begged my parents for it, and I eventually got it for Christmas. Over the years, I've come to like more shows, games and movies. I even realized that I liked doing musical theater, too. Since I joined Wattpad, I've expanded my posting to DeviantArt, this site, YouTube, and more.  I've probably told you all of this many times before, but I say it for a reason.
As I also said already, high school was as fun of an experience as it was... interesting. I couldn't finish my freshman year, and I missed my entire sophomore year, and if you survived 2020, you probably know why. I still passed, though. I think that junior and senior year made up for that. I was in the school musical both of those years, I got to attend my first prom junior year, and I went to Thespian Fest senior year.
Maybe the real high school experience was the friends we made along the way, as I've joked. But I wanted to surround myself with people I could get together with. As SpongeBob said, "I only want to hang out with my friends." And I did, 'cause we made every day the best day ever, especially the night we graduated. (The trampoline park we went to afterwards had some killer chicken tenders!) I took one of my friends to see Elemental before she went out of state for her college. I still keep in touch with a lot of them. Still, I'm really gonna miss everyone, and I wish them luck in their future endeavors.
As soon as school let out, my family took me on a trip to celebrate the fact that I graduated, and I made a video about it. You can watch it on my channel if you'd like.
But, I digress! There are a bunch of people here who I've just gotta show my gratitude for. You guys are part of why I keep going in life.
For @joyseer24, @agent-egg, @sundove88, and @pinkiemeowstic89, some of the earliest people I remember interacting with me.
For @erin-the-epic and @clg-artisa, who never fail to put a smile on my face.
(Also, special thanks to all the Unikitty fans here and on YouTube who called me out on my BS back in 2021.)
To @nevaehjwilliamsvaeh, a fan of Mao Mao and Six. I always love seeing you in my notifications!
@pocketlad, thank you for being my lad.
For @federthenotsogreat. It's nice to have a fellow Mario & Luigi fan to chat with.
@generalfoxy21, thanks for liking my posts and tagging me in your picrews.
To my fellow lovers of WALL-E: @cosmo-naute, @ohthewhomanity, and @defineshitposting. Computer, define friendship- the love that we shared.
For folks like @hazed-miner, @tailsofairies, and @milliemakesmistakes. Thanks to all of you cube kids for liking my Minecraft: Story Mode stuff.
To @choupiee. Anybody who likes both Unikitty and MC:SM stuff is a friend in my book.
There are also more Unikitty fans I have to thank, including @glitzycatart, @passionatepinkkittynew, @lizatheeddsworldaddict, @theunikingdom, and @doomlordsbutfunni.
@keith-neil, thank you for your Unitober challenge! I had a great time participating!
@askthechronoverse, I've got you to thank for liking my posts, reblogging them, and asking questions on the Big Bright World blog. And, thanks for keeping the Unikitty and Lego Movie fandoms alive. It's come to the point where I consider you a true friend, Fabri.
And to all my other watchers who weren't mentioned here, thank you for watching me and sticking by me. I don't know how to end this, so I'm gonna say that life is weird.

digital media i watched this year that i really really enjoyed: a (non-exhaustive, non-ranked) list
hi everyone! ray keys here. i'm writing this on Dec 21st because I know I'll forget to post this on time if I don't schedule it beforehand.
i don't watch things on streaming services because i don't have any of the apps downloaded on my phone and most shows just aren't my thing anyways (ATLA has been the only exception) so all of the links here go to YouTube or other (free) sites
here we go!
Misc. Series and Standalone Videos
17776
17776 is a multimedia webnovel (?) about American football in the year of, you guessed it, 17776, written in 2017 by Jon Bois. It's told through the communications of three space probes made by humans and it's genuinely comforting as someone who's generally terrified by the concepts of eternity and immortality. Trigger warning for unreality at the start.
17776
20020 (the sequel, written in 2020 by the same author)
Code MENT
Code MENT is a YouTube series made by PurpleEyesWTF, of which the first episode was released in 2010. It's a fan-made abridgMENT of the anime Code Geass, voiced entirely by one guy (or at least i think so), and some parts of it have become legendary (see: Soup Store). Trigger warning for murder, infrequent use of the R slur, and depictions of blood and gore.

Star Wars The Third Gathers: Backstroke of the West
Star Wars the Third Gathers: Backstroke of the West, uploaded to YouTube by GratefulDeadpool in 2017, is a video where somebody put the entire script of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith in Google Translate, translated it to Chinese then back to English, and dubbed over it. Yes, it's the entire movie. No, it somehow hasn't been taken down yet.

Mianite (S1)
At least some of you should be familiar with Mianite, seeing as how it has taken over my entire blog over the past month or so. The World of Mianite is a vanilla Minecraft SMP launched in 2014. It was streamed live, but the recordings of those livestreams were later uploaded to YouTube. The main members of the serverlist are CaptainSparklez, II_JERIICHO_II, SynHD, and OmgItsFirefoxx. Mianite has had three seasons so far, but I've only watched the first from one perspective so that's what you guys are going to get.

Alan Becker (and his Team)'s Work
Hi! This channel gets a special section all to itself because I just finished the Animation vs Minecraft series and I'm pretty sure my life has been irreversibly changed forever.
Animator Vs Animation
Animator Vs Animation (shortened: AVA or AvA) is an animated YouTube series by Alan Becker. The first episode was originally posted in 2006 and was later reuploaded to the platform in 2018. I recently binged the entire thing and was NOT expecting it to be as fucking incredible as it was. This is the de facto best place to start if you want to jump into Alan's other works featuring these characters, which I highly recommend because all of them are fantastic!

The stick men play the block game. Do not read the comments of any of the episodes until you have finished the entire series. Do not go in with any prior knowledge if you're able to. Set yourself up with a bowl of popcorn and a big ol' glass of ice water, sit back, look really closely for continuity because it is there and it is GLORIOUS, and enjoy.

hey it's the anon who asked what dr*m did,
I decided to do my own research (mainly cause I was curious) but... I can't find much? let me rephrase it - I did find the allegations from 6ish months ago, that he's going to court with one(?) of them, but that's... all? I didn't find the court's verdict, confirmations, or him admitting either... and any post or video I find has both the OP and the comments mostly on his side and believing that it's either not true or true but not grooming, even people who say they're not his fans or don't even like him.
so Im not sure if the confirmation didn't reach youtube or if I'm searching wrong or something?
but honestly while researching I realized that I cant stand him lmao, gotta agree with some comments I read - he made a mistake by showing more of his personality online, looks like any time he can handle a situation wrong/respond wrong he does it
so dunno, guess I didnt find the confirmation but at least now I don't find his old minecraft videos interesting anymore so theres that
Yeah he can't act properly to save his fucking life
Also I think most of the threads on Twitter and stuff that have all the proof he's guilty/etc is probably long buried, unfortunately. You could probably try to ask around saying you're trying to get the whole picture but tbh it's not a huge deal if you can't. You can try searching my blog but Tumblr sucks with that shit. The fact that this and his other controversies have been buried and lost to the void of the internet is typical white boy with a monstrously big platform shit so I'm not surprised. I never heard any details about court (prob for legal reasons) or a conviction either. All I know is there was screenshot proof from the victim that they talked, and Dr*m confirmed the screenshots were real but didn't say anything about other details. But those details literally can't be false if the screenshots & the shit said in them are true.
Anyway, as far as his other bullshit goes:
People found old kkk meme edits on his yt account through the wayback machine. More than once if I'm not mistaken
He has a history of defending himself using the r slur
He cheated "on accident" in a speedrun (the least important thing ever but everyone always brings it up)
He claimed he was going to donate all proceeds during pride month to lgbt+ charities & he'd do charity streams all month but never did
He defended himself about replying to haters, which would send thousands of his toxic stans after the person getting them doxxed/death threats/etc and he refused to address that it was irresponsible of him bc he was too entitled to immaturely clap back at the antis. Even other ccs, like B/itzel called him out about shit related to how he uses his platform irresponsibly & he unfollowed & shaded them like a bitch baby
The whole "accidental" copycat shit with QSMP/USMP and basically softcore stalking Q/uackity online.
His "apologies" for all of the above fucking sucked in multiple ways. And that's just 2021-Now shit I can remember off the top of my head, I lost my Twitter in May last year so now I get my info from people's posts about it on here or links to tweets.
Everyone largely suspects he spontaneously reignited d/smp lore & started the finale to cover up the groomer thing bc he has a history of doing smth "new and cool" every time he causes drama to divert attention and avoid accountability.
He's also suspected of suddenly rewriting the d/smp finale to paint his Irredeemable Abuser Villain Up Until The Last Stream as a sympathetic poor baby out of nowhere and wrote that his victim, c!Tommy apologized to him, which sends a HORRIBLE message about abusive relationships. T/ommy and T/ubbo have both subtly mentioned not liking the finale and that Dr*m had AWFUL communication during the last like 6+ months of the smp.
He also suddenly showed up in T/ubbo's chat lurking while T/ubbo happened to be mentioning he'd do his own research on the grooming situation instead of blindly siding with Dr*m and it was some shit out of a horror movie is2g, he suddenly dmed T/ubbo out of nowhere during it on discord saying they'd talk about it after T/ubbo wasn't streaming. Basically sounds like he was gonna bias T/ubbo about his innocence. Like he hadn't been in chat all stream long but SUDDENLY he was there the second the topic came up. But the d/smp ccs also can't say anything about the situation since it's a legal matter, so a handful of ccs have just stated/implied they don't support him other ways
He only quit MCC bc he threw a tantrum about how he couldn't practice for it but now that MCC island exists, people were getting better than him. He's habitually a sore loser about that kinda shit
He's got that whole weird "is he, isn't he" bullshit going on about him being lgbt. I personally think he's just catering to his stupid d/n/f shippers bc they like to truth their relationship & sexuality all the time and he's never explicitly said he's bi or smth. He's just vaguely been like "yeeeaahhhh I mostly like girls like 99% but maaaayyybeee I like guys idkkkk. 🤪" But he's also done that multiple times so who tf knows. I'm not gonna fully dismiss him & I understand no one including me is entitled to his specific sexuality, but he has garbage credibility on like everything so I'm neutral on the matter and find it hard to believe him
Not directly him related, but his stans went on a long and horrifying witch hunt on Twitter during the kkk ordeal doxxing, death threatening & harassing ENTIRE mcyt subtwts who spoke out against him and called him out on his racism, performative activism, shitty apology, etc. For example, I was part of S/neeg's subtwt and all my mutuals and me had to go private to avoid getting doxxed. It felt like being raided in some dystopian ass horror film. Entire subtwts were going private, panicking, paranoid they'd get outed & stalked & harassed by people just for condemning racism, raising Black voices, etc. It was borderline traumatic to some people, I know people who lost sleep over it bc they were so afraid.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head but the end of 2021 to early 2022 was a fucking nightmare between him being an immature entitled piece of shit and his stans blindly defending him and going out of their way to endanger people who rightfully opposed him.

hi scoopsogie, the post you rebloged about media creators expecting their audience to be different than it actually is and then putting their rage onto said media, made me think about Dream. because so far he was a creator who actually embraced the big part of his audience that is women and queer people. and he always has been supportive. but. and please correct me or reassure me if I'm being unreasonable. when he said in the video that a big part of his fans are actually collage guys and people into competitive gaming and with his request to be normal and tone down the activities that mostly women and queer people do in the fandom, i got scared that twitter's behaviour made him a bit apprehensive towards this side of fandom. that he doesn't like us like he used to and maybe he wishes his fan were mostly gamer guys...
Hi friend!
I like that post, it's very informative and sheds light on an issue in main stream media. For television shows, like they're mostly talking about here, there are a number of people behind the scenes making decisions and leading where the next season or arc is going. The showrunner, the network, individual writers (very rarely the actors). In between seasons, these people have time to discover *who* is watching their shows and being the loudest about it, engaging with it. It's not that NO men are watching those shows, they just aren't as loud and interested and locked in. I've read theories before about why men aren't as engaged in shows like woman as far as transformative work goes (art, fic) and a big one that I put my horse behind is that these shows are made *for* men. They see themselves as the heroes, the characters, and so they don't need to turn to fanfic to "fix" anything or to imagine it differently. I dunno, that's another essay for a different time.
For Dream and other streamers/real people fandoms (even musicians to a degree) they see their fandoms in real time. Musicians, definitely, because when they're touring you visibly see the audience coming to the show. For streamers it's a tad different, because names in chat are just names, but creators are usually way more involved in twitter where they see the bios and stuff.
I think Dream meant that his fanbase (which our reputation online has been we are all 14 year old girls) - *does* have college age people+ in it and men (who, let's be real, with *our* reputation online, is it any wonder they aren't as vocal as the die hard fans?). When your youtube subscribers alone are 30 million, you wouldn't expect all 30 million to be 14 year olds. I think Dream is very aware that his audience in primary female leaning queer people and POC. Especially compared to other gaming creators and a big part of why we are all here is because he makes us comfortable following him. I don't care how good a youtuber someone is, if they're shitty to their female and queer fans and constantly making gay jokes, I'd bounce. A huge part of why I even got into this fandom was the fanfiction. I had never played minecraft before in my life.
But also remember just who this video is intended for. It's not really for us. It's not intended for the fans who already saw the holes in these allegations and chose to believe Dream. It's for people looking to crucify him. It's *those people* he is showing himself to. It's *those people* he is saying 'I have boundaries and I don't condone everything my fanbase does willy nilly.' This shouldn't be a surprise to us, as Dream has always said he doesn't support doxxing and he doesn't support using his name to harass anyone. He's gone out of his way to be an example and be kind to people who have been mean and cruel to him (tommy, quackity). We've seen him reach out privately and resolve issues before (that guy Henry or whoever ((he's irrelevant imo)) who said Dream provided alcohol to an 18 year old in his hotel room which turned out not to be true).
I don't think he suddenly hates art or fanfiction. This is the man who not only has written fanfiction before (Percy Jackson) but hosted a fanfiction writing contest for his own fandom. I think what he doesn't want is for antis or whoever to go into the #dreamfanart tag and see explicit fic of him naked and/or having sex. Because minors CAN see that in the tag, it reaches a wider audience. Randos who only see that tag will think he condones that. So, he's simply stating he doesn't want that where majority of people will see it. At least, that's my interpretation.
It really sucks, but I think that really means no explicit art on twitter at all (though i think there's a gray area of having a private acct and only sharing with people who are over 18 and have to request to follow -- but that's been a practice already). Additionally, I'm not sure where his line is and where it crosses into explicit. Is kissing okay? He put a hard case out there for not truthing, which I'm glad he said, people shouldn't be scrutinizing his close friendships to the point where they're trying to see if they have separate hotel rooms (this is an example, i actually haven't heard of people doing that). Don't make DNF being real your entire personality.
I really don't think he suddenly wants an entirely gamer-boy audience. I think courting that side of his fandom helps with the harassment overall, though. Having men in the fandom gives the entire fandom more validity -> which, this actually makes me really angry and I hate it but (circling back to the post you mentioned) people have always struggled to respect majority female and queer fandoms.
I'm definitely rambling and trying to make sure I'm answering all the parts of your ask. This is not coherent and not all of my thoughts at all but it's already disgustingly long. So,
TLDR: Dream still loves us, still likes art and fanfiction, and isn't trying to replace us with dude bros.

So I still don't have much to say about Hero 42 yet, but there is one, single detail I wanna mention, and that's based on the hero select screen.
Tumblr media
Now, if you somehow hadn't noticed by now, Overwatch generally sorts heroes alphabetically whenever needed. Note the Damage role starting with Ashe, Bastion, and Cassidy, then going down alphabetical order from there.
The two codenamed heroes, Venture and Space Ranger, also fit this sorting scheme. Venture is between Tracer and Widowmaker, and Space Ranger is between Moira and Zenyatta. We know that Space Ranger is just a temporary name used by developers, so don't expect her to stay there unless her final hero name still happens to fall between M and Z on the alphabet.
Applying this logic to Hero 42 though, we see them between Sigma and Winston. That make the range of first letters include S, T, U, V, and W. Now, this won't give us their final name either, but could give a hint to their codename, and thus some major part of their character. Some ideas include "Toxin" (noting their color scheme and resemblance to some old unused hero concept art), "Turtle" (hey I still stand by them basically being radioactive Bowser), or maybe even something as simple as "Spike".
Tumblr media
Also here's the best image I could find of this being. Saw someone also compare this design to an edgy version of the pokemon Chesnaught, which is funny considering that's what I'm using in my current playthrough of Pokemon X. Either way this is definitely my "big spiky shell dudes" era.
Maybe it's not surprising that this is the hero that captivated my attention so much out of the three early teasers, considering I am a Tank main and also just love this hero's design already from this little cartoony icon. My personal hope is that they are some sort of gnarly creature, since I feel like in a game with big cool robots and hyperintelligent moon animals, the lack of some kind of mutant monster dude has... I don't wanna say bothered me, but feels like a missed opportunity. Have this guy be some Oasis experiment gone rogue that's now going wild across the world or something. I don't wanna say outright to make them another Talon-aligned tank, since now we're swimming with those. I'm similarly not super keen on them being another Junker considering how many of those are also in that role, though it'd be an easy way to explain the "mutant" theory of mine. Consider that, if we count Ramattra as Talon-aligned, every single Tank added since OW1's initial release has either been part of Talon or a Junker, with the sole exception of Orisa. I won't deny they definitely fit the look of a Junker though, and there's definitely more to that style to explore, I just want a messed up bowser guy. or gal! we don't know yet! could even be another NB character! Diversity win: this giant mutant spike monster uses they/them pronouns too!
Anyways yeah this has been an exhausting weekend in the best possible way for being an Overwatch fan, so I'm gonna hold off on more posts unless someone asks for my thoughts on anything in particular. If you want a better recap of everything discussed at Blizzcon, I highly recommend the recent video on Master Ian Gamer's youtube channel, it's like 17 minutes long and covers almost everything of note for Overwatch 2's future from today's panel and from the opening ceremony.

I'm gonna go play more Minecraft now I think

Jumpscare!
I did another drawing :D This one is of Moon giving someone a lil spook! I've been trying to practice perspective and I liked the sketch I did for this so I turned it into a full drawing.
Some of the perspective of the background and main focus don't match because I took the perspective of the background from a Minecraft build I did, which was done after I had lined the rest of it, whoops. I also wish I had given the floor of the daycare a softer and rounded look, instead of having all those corners.
However, I really like the perspective regardless! And I'm a big fan of the lighting, although I went a bit too heavy on the face and the flashlight probably should have been brighter.
But, otherwise, I'm super happy with this :)
Here's the speedpaint!
And here's the full background (bc I spent forever on it) :P

morality in the world of good omens
so i wrote another (admittedly very messy) essay on good omens not long ago right after watching season 2 but after finishing that, rewatching all of both seasons multiple times, and reading through the book, i have a couple more distinct ideas to get out...somewhere...if only for my own sanity. this is me throwing my thoughts into the internet before i pop, if you will. just 3 sections, below the cut.
1. environment, characters, & transformative fandom creations
to start this post off a bit more broadly, i've been thinking a lot recently about transformative fandom and the reasons why we write fanfiction/create semi-original works in the first place, as well as why certain aspects of fandom (writing, art, analysis, etc.) will be more appealing to me for certain shows/series than others. correct me if you have a totally different view of this, but in my experience i've found that i tend to naturally gravitate towards different parts of fandom depending on what the original medium of the story was- podcasts tend to lead to some of the most interesting art trends, for example, since there's more room for interpretation and character design tends to be more of an ongoing community project than something set in stone like for a tv show with live human actors.
in my own observation, i've noticed that a lot of the really big & excitable fandoms, the ones that generate tons & tons of fanworks more naturally (a.k.a. just because of the story itself & not other factors like a pre-existing franchise or hype about new great gay representation, etc.) tend to surround stories that fall into a kind of "sweet spot" that makes the creation of fanworks really appealing. if you've ever wondered why there are so many ravenous artists bending over backwards to draw gorgeous fanart for stuff like homestuck or south park or even minecraft youtubers, it's likely because those stories all fall into a sweet spot for drawing, with character designs that are recognizable at a glance and yet still simple enough that there is plenty of room for personal creative touches. (think also, if you're familiar with such kinds of homestuck terms: hyperflexible mythologies, A4:1524, and/or this archive link cause the official thing is down now for some reason)
the conclusion i've come to is thus that even something as basic as the original medium of a story can dictate a lot about what kinds of fan activities are more common or popular within said story's fandom.
so, back to good omens- for me, this all relates back because of a question i've been messing with in my head recently, about why i've been less interested in fanfiction for good omens than i have been for the last few fandoms i've been, almost all of which have basically broken my ao3 bookmarks.
this question has been fucking with me for a while now, largely because i'm not entirely sure what's motivating it. a lot of times i can figure out pretty easily why i might personally not be interested in some parts of fandom, but that's not really the case here. from what i've seen this fandom seems to be pretty mixed in terms of age, & the writing that i have read is certainly no worse than i've seen elsewhere, perhaps even better in some places- and yet, i can't seem to get entirely into it, even getting frustrated as i can't find something to my tastes for an ao3 bedtime story as i've grown so accustomed. what caught me off guard is that this was an issue that i ran into while watching season 1 as well, back when the series was still quite popular but not blowing up like it is right now.
a lot of this may seem like (and likely is, at least in part) basic overthinking, but i mentioned it all here because the answer i eventually came to is reminiscent of my previous reflections above on the nature of fandom & how/why fanworks are created.
a couple paragraphs above, i used the example of art as an example of how fandoms that generate a lot of original artwork will often do the most when the original story falls into a sweet spot of character design, but notably i think that this sentiment applies to a lot more than just art. if you've ever seen the copious amounts of kpop & hockey rpf fanfiction that lives on ao3, it should be clear that this applies to writing too.
i wrote this essay a while back responding to an observation about the lack of a more extensive symbolic language in fanfiction & i've toyed around with the idea more since, particularly in considering the question of why a lot of what we see as the staples of fanfiction exist in the first place. in that post, my response largely revolved around an argument of why we create fanfiction- namely, that fanfiction is created as in tandem with deeper analysis of the original story/series, as a way of trying to practically apply character analysis to a new context.
the key part of that last sentence to me is how a lot of this revolves around character analysis (and shipping, but really it's the characters that motivate the shipping in most cases so. same difference).
i tend to instinctively separate fanfiction into two separate categories: fanfiction that is based out of the original world/canon of the story (including but not limited to fix-its, deeper analysis fics that take a scene & extrapolate from it, continuations, etc.) and fanfiction that takes the characters from the original story & plops them in an alternate universe/AU. while i separate these out as two distinct categories of fanfiction, i should also clarify that i don't think these two groups are necessarily equal in terms of number of fics- rather, the vast majority of fanfiction tends to be AUs, keeping the original characters & changing any & all aspects of the world around them. again, this may vary depending on the story & Vibe of the fandom at the time, stories like game of thrones or harry potter or homestuck might have a lot more in the canon category by nature of any major dissatisfactions the fandom has with how the original story was told, but in most cases AUs are more popular. this was a lot of the basis behind my argument that fanfiction is created as character analysis in fact, since the characters are the most important part that carries over from original story to fanwork, as well as can end up being one of the most debated/scorned parts when it comes to fandom drift (i.e. "that's out of character"/"he wouldn't do that"/and all other such arguments about fanon vs. canon characterization).
basically, my conclusion in this case was that i was a lot less interested in gomens fic largely because i have a really hard time separating the characters from the world in the case of this particular story. aziraphale & crowley being an angel & a demon and dealing with all of the bullshit of their world when it comes to heaven & hell are such integral parts of their characters in my mind that i have a much harder time getting behind AU fanfiction that plops them in a totally different context. it's just a much harder sell for keeping the characters in character for me. (i also tend to not like s2 fix-its just cause, idk they're just not my style, which is where a lot of the recent blast of energy has led us.) to clarify, this is not a judgement, just a matter of personal preference and a reflection of why, even if a lot of fandoms will look the same from the outside/involve the same things like art, fic, etc., an individual's mileage can vary wildly when it comes to how they interact with different things online.
*additional note, also for clarification: i do want to acknowledge that a lot of this depends on pure popularity as well, popular fandoms will often end up with basically everything in terms of fanworks just by nature of how many people are interacting with & thinking deeply about the story. my point here is more along the lines of the fact that even within the more well-populated fandoms, certain types of fanwork will often Stick Out more to me than others, or even be visibly much more common than in other fandoms, due largely to the original medium/structure of how the story.
so, speaking of aziraphale & crowley in more depth now- why does the world of good omens feel like such an integral part of their personalities when it comes to characterization? up next, let's talk about morality within the context of good omens' perhaps surprisingly secular take on heaven & hell.
2. the amorality of heaven & hell (ft. the crowley quote apples you know the one)
(warning in advance that this section may be a bit limited since i'm not going to get super far (or very far at all, really) into the whole religious-analysis aspect of good omens.)
i've been binge-reading the original pterry & gaiman book for good omens over the last few days and it's been very fun seeing all the slight changes between the tv show & the original. you can really see the hand of the original creators in how the tv show was translated, even just by looking at which parts made it and which parts were deemed worth cutting out. i suppose having one of the original creators right there helping build everything really helps make a book -> show translation work, since the ASOUE tv series was also pretty well received- something about knowing what's the core of the series & truly important to keep in, and having more time to tell the story itself?
anyways, i have a short list of notes that i've been taking as i read, conversations that stand out to me or footnotes that particularly amused me, but i keep coming back to one line that stood out to me quite early on. in context, this line comes from crowley during the conversation where he is first attempting to fully convince aziraphale about stopping armageddon, specifically when they're talking about exerting equal forces on warlock to make him normal:
"You're saying the child isn't evil of itself?" [Aziraphale] said slowly. "Potentially evil. Potentially good, too, I suppose. Just this huge powerful potentiality, waiting to be shaped," said Crowley. He shrugged. "Anyway, why're we talking about this good and evil? They're just names for sides. We know that."
(pg. 67)
"They're just names for sides." if i had to pick one line to sum up the view on religious morality of this series, this would likely be it.
on the one hand, i tend to interpret a lot gomens' take on heaven & hell within the context of its political stance, something that is particularly obvious through a line from gabriel in s2e2 where he tries to clarify to aziraphale that heaven isn't trying to hurt job directly, but instead is just not stopping hell from doing horrible things to him. while there may be some additional nuance to add to this take within the context of british politics that i don't really know well enough to add about, i'm inclined to see this from the side of my own familiar american politics, which might hold some weight considering how long mr. gaiman's lived around here. point is, my current interpretation of that line is that it helps in more clearly establishing the analogy of heaven & hell as the story moves forward into newer seasons and thus more contemporary politics, equating heaven with mainstream liberal politics & politicians and hell with conservatives.
this stance seems to be emphasized even more in the tv show than the book which makes sense considering its been coming out more recently, and especially in season 2 which is still quite caught up in a lot of quarantine-based reflection. (the tv show puts a lot more emphasis on heaven & hell in general, actually, perhaps initially a byproduct of actually being able to see those environments in their entirety and all the angels & demons that populate them- but we'll get to that.)
the book takes a slightly different stance that, fittingly, seems more reflective of the time it came out. in particular, i was struck a lot more when reading the book by adam's rise (fall?) to power, and how much of it was motivated by a burgeoning nervousness/pessimism about climate change and the anxieties of younger generations that comes with inheriting an earth that feels so fucked up. honestly if anything it's only gotten more relevant in that respect, what with the current vibe on the internet & the hopelessness of the doomer gen z gang, but it also has a distinctly different flavor to me from the tv show, which i think is largely because it's less connected to Formal politics since again we see a whole lot less of heaven & hell as such distinct, bureaucratic entities.
instead, there is a very distinctly amoral aspect to heaven & hell that we get through lines like the one above and especially from characters like crowley. this is why i argue that good omens, despite having so many religious elements, is such a deeply secular take, especially when it comes to its ethics & morality- Good and Evil, notably with the capital letters in this case, has very little to do with actual actions and much more to do with the name that you stamp on top of said actions. heaven & hell and the angels & demons that we see directing and watching and generally fucking with aziraphale & crowley throughout the story are distinctly separate from humanity, and as we see even more as the story progresses, distinctly unaware about what it even means to be a human, in both a deeper philosophical & very basic and literal sense. Good and Evil is simply another name for the sides- and thus the true ethics is something separate, and based in a deeply human experience.
in my opinion this is also why aziraphale & crowley, lovers of humanity and also to some degree spokespersons of it from how much they've "gone native," tend to be so deeply at odds with both heaven & hell and always end up agreeing with each other over their own supposed sides. what makes aziraphale & crowley so distinctly different is that they ascribe to the same ethics & morality that humanity does, or at the very least are trying to figure out ethics & morality & How to Be a Good Person in the same horribly messy way that humans do, separating them from the black & white "this side Good & this side Bad," logic that the rest of heaven & hell instinctively ascribe to.
there's a lot of nuance here, which is also why i think there is such an emphasis on moral ambiguity (and love, but we'll get to that) throughout season 2. the story of job, grave robbing, & questionable attempts at matchmaking- aziraphale is working through a lot of Shit right now when it comes to trying to figure out what the Good thing actually fucking is, and i think it's key that a lot of that is motivated by crowley himself. crowley might'e been cast out of heaven for asking too many questions, but aziraphale is there & listening to them & giving them the serious thought they deserve, and that can't be overlooked.
sidenote: i couldn't figure out a place to shove this in, but i also wanna point out that a lot of this is tied to the idea of growing over time too. on the same page as the quote transcribed above is another line from crowley leading up to aziraphale's question that puts a lot of emphasis on the fact that warlock is going to be a product of nurture, not nature. again, this is an argument against basic black & white assigned-at-birth morality for the ability of humans to grow & change over time and be influenced by the people around them.
it's notable that despite adam's supposed origin as a Son of Satan, what really gets him to stop the apocalypse in the end is the fact that he doesn't really give a shit about all this big plans but instead just wants to hang around his friends. there's a lot of emphasis in the book placed on how beautiful & nice tadfield is as a place for a young kid to grow up, how well loved & fiercely protected it as as something beloved to adam. while he might be overwhelmed when faced with the full picture of how horrible the world can be, ultimately what he cares about is loving & taking care of the people & places that he grew up learning were precious, and the only way to do that is to keep growing & changing yourself within that world and trying to help it also grow into something better, not throw it all away just for the slightest chance that you could restart. a message worth taking the time to think about, at the absolute very least.
3. finding morality w/in humanity: crowley & aziraphale and speculation for s3
i have complicated feelings about both aziraphale & crowley throughout a lot of the show and especially in season 2. i think a lot of people, myself included, are inclined to see crowley as the voice of reason in this season, and for good reason- as i mentioned before, a lot of aziraphale's deeper questioning of the status quo and goodness (Goodness) as a whole is motivated by questions from crowley.
i kiiind of mentioned this in my previous essay, but to state it more clearly, my take on crowley is that he's arriving at the right answer for the wrong reasons, and, conversely, aziraphale is arriving at the wrong answer for... kind of also the wrong reasons but also slightly for the right reasons. let me explain.
crowley is clearly much more aware of the flaws in both heaven & hell than aziraphale is, which seems to be the basis behind a lot of his motivation in asking aziraphale so many questions in the first place. he's also, as maggie & nina point out in s2e6, deeply lonely, often running away or getting ready to fight literally anyone that isn't aziraphale (or humans, but that's a little more complicated). from his reaction to beelz & gabriel getting together, i think it's pretty clear that he still hasn't entirely given up on the whole alpha centauri idea, and it makes sense- as i said in that last essay, crowley basically won the argument at the end of the previous season when it comes to aziraphale & crowley, "making [their] own side," so he doesn't have much reason to face any of his personal fears until maggie & nina basically point out that they exist directly to his face. once they do point it out, however, he's very motivated to act & does so almost immediately, even after hearing what aziraphale has to tell him and being pretty thoroughly devastated by it.
my point here is that crowley is correct in seeing the toxicity of both heaven & hell, he's just flawed and largely motivated by fear (up for debate if that's all it is, but i certainly think it's a big part of it) in his desire to run away from it all. it's not quite armageddon, again he's going more flight > fight here, but he's still ultimately giving up and that's not a great conclusion.
on the other hand, as some others on this site have pointed out, aziraphale is certainly showing a lot of strength in his willingness to keep fighting & try to change things for the better, but it's not hard to see how that belief has been twisted. one of aziraphale's biggest flaw in motivation at this point imo is that he doesn't just believe in goodness but Goodness, the kind that's tied to heaven always being right & all actions being morally Good so long as they're done under the name of heaven, and that clearly also isn't great.
thus what i think the both of these two really need ultimately is that deeper connection to humanity, and the ethics born from humans interacting with humans. we can already see how strong these two are when they collaborate, even when they're doing their absolute best to be as subtle as possible, but what i think they need is to once again be grounded by humanity, not to get so caught up in the bullshittery of heaven & hell and Good & Evil, but once again find a goodness defined by the world that they mutually love so much and stick with it.
i keep tossing a question around in my head about whether or not aziraphale & crowley are going to end up human by the end of this series. it feels natural that they would, they're already so at home and in love with earth & around humanity, but i'm also not entirely sure if that would be a happy ending for them considering how long they've watched & loved the world as it's changed. perhaps taking this post into account is another push towards humanity as a happy ending, not running away to a cottage to get away from the world (i just can't see running away to a cottage to be together as as happy ending, sorry- it might work for beelz & gabriel but not for aziraphale & crowley), but choosing to settle down within that world that is so dear.
#'just three sections' LAFFS. YEAH#astronaut rambles#good omens#gomens#no but i like this one a lot better than the last attempt at a gomens essay#this one feels a lot cleaner. more focused?#got a bit sappy at the end but i don't mind humanity is always worth loving#also off topic but i read this really interesting paper at work the other day#about pratchett’s writing in discworld & zizek & religion#forget what it’s called now but it was an interesting take on how fiction/fantasy can allow for deeper insights/reflection of reality#got some discworld books today so looking forward to reading those once i slurp up the last hundred or so pages of good omens#also thanks to my dad for having some interesting commentary on the job interpretation in s2e2 today#i all but literally slept through sunday school so i think a lot of the more noteworthy religion takes in this show go over my head =3=‘’#man i am so very much looking forward to how season 3 continues this story#i feel like a lot of the big conclusions there are really gonna be important for the direction of the story’s main message#season 2 is just. such a transition season it’s hard to get super distinct conclusions sometimes#like it’s still going somewhere there’s shit developing#it’s not like sherlock where it just teases deeper meaning forever but gives you nothing#but. it’s just so obviously Not Over Yet and I Need More#anyways much love i need to go to bed now arghfjdkd lots of shit to do in the future but all i wanna do is keep writing gomens essays. sigh#brainrot central#oh yay my phone’s at 69% now ☺️ wheeee#good omens meta

What’s the earliest thing™️ (tv show, game, book, etc.) you can remember that you’re still a big fan of?
(I realise this question isn’t very clear, for example the first video game I remember playing is kingdom hearts, still a massive kingdom hearts fan, some of my earliest memories are watching doctor who, I still watch it now, etc.)
i think it's a tie between minecraft and adventure time!
the first thing™ i remember is a russian Club Penguin clone called "Шарарам", which apparently still exists 0_0
i got into it in May 2010, and then slowly pivoted to shitty free-to-pay flash games, and by the start of 2012 one of those shitty flash games was a minecraft clone called "Копатель онлайн" (literally digger online). so i eventually found the real minecraft, and the youtube letsplays of it.
i even have this old fandom timeline file, but half of it is in russian, to signify that the fandoms were in russian:
Tumblr media
as you can see, in the summer of 2014 i got watched (the first 4 seasons) mlp, and then almost immediately adventure time! the russian dub for season 4 was absolutely horrible, so this is the reason i can english today. i'm no longer a fan of mlp tho, so it's disqualified!!

Mercury you are Incredibly fucking correct about the way older people in the fandom act my GOD. I've been in a couple adults only fan spaces and holy SHIT you'd think adults who were here for like allllll of the other youtubers doing horrid stuff, who condemned CMC for doing The Same Thing As Dream. Would find this shit weird but they Don't! Moving from DSMP centric circles to Life Series/Hermit/Empires centric ones was like an ENORMOUS shock bc while there are still bad eggs in those spaces there are FAR fewer adults making every aspect of how they engage with these block guys about how bad they wanna fuck them or see them fuck each other. DSMP spaces I was in went "Nah it's Normal that Dream's giving out a phone number for fans to text him and get a real reply because broadcast celebs did that" and ignore that most celeb replies are automated entirely and also don't typically humor messages calling them sexy gay dogboys or daddy or any of that shit.
Back when that was happening there were Not grooming allegations about Dream yet but it was like a month at most after the CMC situation and anyone who like Thought about it for more than a moment could noodle out that like. Even if there would never be accusations against Dream, he sets the foundation for what a LOT of people will consider normal content creator behavior until the next big thing unseats him in like ten or so years. The idea that private snapchats or a text line that only you and the other person see unless one party publishes the messages are Normal Things to hand out to your primarily tweenage audience is like. Bad. Like even if he DIDN'T groom anyone he still sets the standard that privately talking to a grown man just shy of twice your age with 20 million followers is a normal and good interaction! The other adults in those spaces should have been seeing SO many more fucking red flags in the moment! It should not have been me and three other people who weren't OBSESSED with the man who were the only ones concerned with that!
And by GOD the RPF discussion. I spent months being told that I was just being an anti or a hater for agreeing that Dream repopularized super public RPF and RPF being sent to creators and blockign over RPF being abnormal. Like. My credentials here are I've been in Youtuber fandoms before and since falling in and out with the DSMP. I grew up on DeviantArt in the heyday of Septiplier and Phan getting sent to the content creators. I saw the culture change enough to have a significant pushback against shipping those guys from Buzzfeed Unsolved by 2019. I've BEEN online and I know that Dream and George encouraging ship content being sent to them and made hyper public like Drastically changed how often I found RPF on my timeline. YES shit was bad during SMPLive. It was SO much worse ten years ago and it's getting back to those levels as more kids migrate out of the DSMP/DTeam fandoms and act like content creators need to see their fanfic or fanart of them being used as Sex Objects. And being told I was just making shit up or hatemongering against Dream for noticing the Real pattern in how the public treats RPF? It made me feel unhinged then and it still makes me feel unhinged now.
anyways long rant over it takes me 0 whole dollars to think critically abt how I engage with people's Minecraft DND characters and how I engage with the actual creators and adults who act like that expectation is Censorship Of Queer People are dumb of ass.
I literally couldn't have agreed more with you anon. I wasn't in the fandom back when SMP live was a thing, but i do have experiences with fandoms where RPF is completely normalized outside of the dsmp. I'm kind of gonna go on a rant of my own as well here. But like
It's frustrating to see how these people, Idols, content creators, celebrities etc are dehumanized and often just seen as an object to project all of their emotions, whether it's frustrating, lust etc on to.
Like they genuinely stop seeing them as people, even if they don't want to admit it.
It honestly isn't even just about sexual content, stuff like writing rpf fics and assuming certain people's roles within the lives of the ccs they like is also weird
Like how you can find rpf fics where the ccs parents are abusive. How you can find fics where the significant other of the cc is cheating which is why they leave them for their friend and discover they were in gay love all along. or Fics where its revealed that "actually this specific moment that happened irl on stream was a sign of abuse and the people who claim to be the friend of X cc are actually toxic and don't deserve them" And its just like??????
People are reading into things so hard. And I'll admit when I'm hyperfixating hard it's sometimes difficult to differentiate what I feel and what the cc I watch feels or expresses, but I'm aware that that's parasocial behaviour and I ignore it. It's my brain tricking me into thinking I know that person and that they feel and see everything the same as I do. It's not healthy to indulge in that even if it can feel comforting.
And the problem with the dteam specifically is that they encourage this type of behaviour like a lot, and the only reason they do is profit.
Back to nsfw content though, it absolutely is going to become a lot worse and I'm not looking forward to that

can i ask what kinda games you play? and/or gaming suggestions too?🥺🥺🥺
Of course! I play such a weird variety of games. If anyone plays any of these too it's be great to have more people to game with - please note that I'm not competitive I just like to vibe and have fun. 😊😊
Warframe - free!
Valorant - free!
Coral Island - £19.99 - my lovely friend gifted this, I haven't had the chance to play it yet but they're saying it has so many diversity and accessibility options!
My Time at Sandrock - £19.99 - again my lovely friend gifted me this and I've played this so much, has great accessibility options like slowing down the times of days so you don't get super stressed out!
Stardew Valley - £10.99 - my lovely friend gifted this too. There's also mods for this game which makes things so much easier.
Apex Legends - free!
Dead by Daylight - £14.99 - tw: horror - they did have this for free on Epic Games for a short period of time so always check out their free games!
Minecraft - £24.99 - I don't know why it's so relaxing to strip mine and build pretty things sometimes.
Resident Evil 5 - £13.99 - please somebody get this and we can play together.
Don't Starve / Don't Starve Together - £7.19 or £10.99 - this game stresses me out because I don't know what I'm doing but it'd be great to learn.
Fortnite - free! - I play this with my friends kids and it's honestly so much better when you don't take it seriously.
SMITE - free! - I have played 2,543 hours on this scREAMS.
And then some other cool games some of which I haven't played because they're expensive but: Heavy Rain, God of War, Metro, Divinity, Firewatch, Hollow Knight, Last of Us, Borderlands, Stray, 7 Days to Die, Far Cry, Never Alone (a game made alongside Ishmael Hope who is Iñupiaq and Tlingit!).
I would also rec TheRadBrad on youtube for gameplays because not everyone (me) can drop £40 or £80 on a game.
I also asked my friend who is the lovely soul that bought me the games listed above and: my time at sandrock, coral island, stardew valley, binding of isaac, dead cells, sims 4 (which is free to play now base game only) slime rancher 2 (if they don't want early access games, there's slime rancher (1) and my time at portia) any of the telltale games, lego the movie 1 and 2 the game, Beacon Pines, if they want to cry Spiritfarer, 7 days to die, FEZ, Digimonstory Cybersleuth for the rpg fans, staxel,yooka-laylee(for the banjo kazooie fans out there), overcooked (for the co-opers), coromon (for the pokemon player) portal and portal 2 (for the puzzler) borderlands, fallout and bioshock franchises (for the fps players that want more story to their games) cat quest 1 and 2(for those who want a cutesey rpg) evoland 1 and 2 (for those who want to explore the evolution of video game graphics/audio through a game) the night of the rabbit(for the point and click lovers that like fairy tales) orwell and orwell: ignorance is strength (for the one that likes a story driven game about a type of big brother dystopian world) summer in mara (for those that want a cutsey game that's relaxing).

on august 21st, 2014, i was a 12-year-old in 7th grade who was just finding out about the hidden block/normalboots collective of game reviewers.
on august 21st, 2014, i found caddicarus - who would have a huge impact on my life for the next 4 years.
during those 4 years i had many fandom shenanigans. made some great memories, made some not-so-great memories.
i remember when he was an android fanboy. i remember when he didn't like pizza. i remember when his voice was higher and when he had the buzzcut. the stock grungy background and aesthetic. the frosty cooltext generated logo. that iconic gong noise at the beginning of the intro. when the intro didn't even have music at all - do fans these days even remember that the intro was once a heavenly chant with no music?
"🎵ay ay ay ay ay, ay ay ay ay, subscribe...🎵"
"that's how we do it in my garden!"
"CYOAR!"
i remember rushing home one day in march 2015 to watch him on PBG's minecraft hardcore. i remember when he first got his tattoos. i remember how the audience was divided over his mohawk.
many sunday afternoons were spent waiting for the new video to come out. being the young devoted fan i was, i started drinking pepsi after he said he preferred it over coke. i called it "the official drink of the beautiful people".
i remember in 2016 when he got rid of all those extra shows and made the caddicarus show weekly. and i remember when the sub count slowed around the same time. but we as the fanbase made do with what we had.
i left in late 2018 around the time he hit 600,000 subs. i left to pursue other fandom endeavors - long story short, i moved onward. 😉
in the 4 years since i've left, caddy pretty much addressed every criticism people had with his videos and he's been thriving more than he ever has. and even though his videos are no longer for me personally, i still respect him with every fiber of my being.
now, it's august 22nd, 2022. i'm 20 years old. i haven't watched a caddicarus video in god knows how long. when i think of caddicarus, the color blue still comes to mind. that shows you right there.
yet, as i sat silently in the college library, on the first day of junior year, i held my hands on my heart and teared up as i saw caddy do the same and then lie down on his side as he saw the long-awaited number show up on his screen.
i took a big sip of the pepsi sitting next to me. and even after i found out that he hates the US version of pepsi, i still drank it with pride. because it shows that the impact he and his videos made on me is still visible to this day. and also because...pepsi really is better than coke.
i am aware of what caddy thinks of the pre-2020 era. i recognize that he wasn't exactly making the videos he wanted to make and that he regrets them now. but we wouldn't be where we are today if they never existed. they still made an impact.
i remember when we never thought he'd hit 1 million subs. i remember checking socialblade and the prediction for the 1 million sub milestone was...actually pretty accurate. it projected he'd reach 1 million when i was in the middle of college. but at the time, it was still 6 years away. which is a long time in internet years.
but he's so resilient. that's 10 years of blood, sweat, and tears poured into the channel. and within those videos - no matter what he thinks of them now - are the childhood/teenhood memories of many, many people. nerdy and geeky kids who found a part of youtube that understood their nerdy and geeky interests. kids who finally felt validated after finding other people who enjoyed the same videos. kids who then had internet friends to talk about their interests with. kids who finally found their voice...and began to make videos of their own.
thank you so much jim. thank you for all you've done. you have given me and now a million other people so much happiness and joy. i hope you continue to thrive and inspire millions of people. stay beautiful. 💜💙💜

It feels so weird posting about it, but it deserves to be said.
If you guys haven't watched Technoblade's latest video, you guys need to watch that then come back.
You did that? Good. Then you know what I'm going to be talking about.
Alex "Technoblade" has passed away from stage 4 cancer. His father read out his final video to us and I'm in shock.
For those who aren't aware, Technoblade was a Minecraft Youtuber who's content touched the lives of millions.
I decovered his content mid-2020, early 2021. I was in a such a rough patch with my anxiety and mental health that I wasn't entirely sure I was going to get better.
But, watching Technoblade's content put a smile on my face when I didn't think I could smile. Made me laugh when I couldn't laugh. He made me feel so happy, and was my biggest inspiration.
When I felt bad about myself, I would talk about myself the way Techno talked about himself. Loud and unshakeable praise about how I was the greatest person to ever live and that nothing could take me down. It was silly, but it worked. Even through the anxeity and gender disphoriya and self-hatred, emulating that pride made me feel stronger.
He was my biggest hero. I wanted to grow up and be just like him. Loud, proud, on top of the world. I wanted to hold myself the way he held himself. Talk the way he talked. Be as kind and loved and adored as he was. Look myself in the mirror and tell my younger self I did it, I was just like him.
I wanted to meet him someday. When I was famous and the "talk of the town", I wanted to shake his hand (virtual or otherwise) and tell him how much he meant. Tell him that I achieved my biggest dreams because of him.
But that can't happen anymore. Because he's gone.
I hate myself for that small part of me that wanted it to be fake. A weird fever dream I could wake up from that I could tell my friends about and laugh it off. I guess a part of me still wants that dream to hold true.
But this is actually happening. And it feels so weird to greive over a man I never met, and realistically could never meet, but I can't help it. He was such a big part of my life, and I don't think I'll ever truely move on.
I'm not a religious man. But, I pray for Techno's family. I pray that they'll be okay and will be able to live the rest of their lives stress free and happy. Because after everything they've had to deal with, they deserve that more than anything in the world.
I pray for Techno's friends. I know how much they cared about him, and how much he cared about them. And I pray that they'll be okay and greive. That they'll be able to be as happy as they can be, despite everything.
And I pray for Techno's fans, for the community. Drink some water. Have a snack. Take a nap. Cry to your hearts content. We lost a great man, and it's okay to greive for someone you've never met.
Rest in peace Technoblade. You will continue to touch and inspire lives, even in death. You were the strongest and funniest man to ever exist. Your legacy will never die in the hearts and minds of the millions of people you've inspired. And even though you're a godless man, I hope you rest easy in Heaven, and kick God's ass on the way in.
And if I see ANY of you fuckers trying to pry into Techno's family's privacy or make jokes about his death or even place a BIT of disrespect on his name, it's on SIGHT. Because we're NOT talking about his character or his persona, this is an actual tragedy and it's the LEAST he deserves.

Okay I'm writing because I just wanted to vent, just wanted to write a big ass wall of text to put my emotions in order don't mind me.
Techno was the reason for why I got into Minecraft, I was never a fan of the game before him. In 2020 I saw the Sad-ist animation Dream vs Technoblade a few days after it was released at random in YouTube recommended. Watched it and thought it was awesome, didn't even know it was related to Minecraft or anything. In the end of the animatic the pig girl had kicked that green dude's ass and won and I was happy cause I was routing for her (yes, while watching the animatic I thought he was a girl cause of the hair). So looking through the comments I found out that those characters were actually real people and went to check it out... that was when I meet Technoblade.
I watched his videos and through him got to know a lot of mcyt from the dsmp, and it was amazing, it was an entirely new world for me to get onboard on. And just like that I was so invested, during the major big events, during c!schlatt administration, during c!tubbo's execution, during the war between Pogtopia and L'manburg, c!Wilbur's death, Philza joining, c! schlatt dying, c!techno being betrayed, c!tommy being exiled, the destruction of L'manburg... everything, I was there for all that, they helped me get through the toughest parts of the pandemic. But even though there were all these streamers and all this content I was always looking for Techno, If he was in it than I always watched from his pov cause I knew it was gonna be fun ya know? Cause he was just so funny and great, he is the potato king and the pvp master and a force to be reckoned with, and in the rare time when he posted a video I knew for sure it was gonna be as good as the potato war, and to cherish it a lot because he didn't post often ya know?
When he first posted about the cancer I watched the video in disbelief and kept expecting for him to just say "bruhh you nerds actually believed that it was just a joke", but he didn't, he was serious, he was serious and I was in shock, like what do you mean, he's 23 years old there's no way there's just no way, bet by this time in the next year he will already be much better. There's no way, there's just no way, well, here we are.
... the last video he posted was on my birthday, april 2... Idk, idk how to feel, idk what. It was too fast. It was all to fast and I was not prepared.
I already lost someone from my family to cancer before, I think that's why this is hitting me so hard, it never gets easier.
My prayers go to his family, his friends, all the people he helped along the way through donations and in general, but most of all, they go to him. I pray for you techno, you were a great person and I'm very sad to see you leave so soon, you will be missed, but never forgotten.
Descansa em paz porquin.

hey uhhhh quick question are you okay with mcyt (minecraft youtuber) fans interacting w this blog? as in fans of hermitcraft, empires smp, or last life? (if you don’t know what those things are, please feel free to look them up) just wanted to get some clarification bc you’ve rbed from a couple people who don’t want mcyt fans to interact with them at all (something abt all mcyts inherently being racist, which is a bit strange as there are many mcyts who are people of color) and i wanted to be sure that i’m not violating any boundaries by interacting with your blog. it’s ok if you don’t want to answer this, but i just wanted to ask
This is an interesting question; I'll try to keep my answer here as succinct as possible while providing the information I want to.
I have watched Minecraft videos on YouTube but I don't consider myself an "MCYT" fan. I don't follow or really know much about the Big Famous YouTubers most folks do beyond their names (Wilbur Soot, TommyInnit, Dream, Ranboo, etc). At best I have an awareness of Grian and MumboJumbo and have seen some of their vids but I don't actively watch them? It's basically just osmosis. So that's to say I don't know much at all ABOUT the MCYT community myself or consider myself part of it, but I am loosely Aware of it, if that makes sense.
I don't know who specifically you're referring to that has MCYT fans on their DNI (though I'm aware of some blogs that do) but I want to be clear that I can't speak for them. It's their DNI. That said, I also want to say I'm not sure that what you've said here - about viewing all Minecraft YouTubers as being racist - is correct. Since I don't know who you're referring to, I can't confirm or deny if that's what they believe, and if I were going to confirm or deny it I would go see what they themselves have said. But I can say that, from my experience, the reason people put MCYT fans on their DNI is personal and generally more complex than that. I know that's a very vague explanation, but again, I don't want to speak for anyone else about their own boundaries.
As for my boundaries - I don't really know enough about the community or the people in it to draw a hard line regarding interaction. I'm not comfortable with anyone who supports and stans YouTubers that are openly prejudiced, and I don't actually know which YTers are openly prejudiced because I don't pay attention to them. I've heard generally that Dream is a prick and that's about all I care to know on that front, I don't remember what he's said/done but I know it's enough that I actively avoid him. Beyond that I got no clue.
TL;DR - I don't have anything about MCYT in my own DNI because I don't know enough to put it there. If other people have that in their DNI that's their own personal boundary that should be respected. My basic sentiment is "don't support assholes" and I don't know enough to name many specific assholes for that point. So just be a cool person, yeah?

Intro Post:
I'm Brice Terry, an autistic aromantic dorky manchild who was born on September 5th, 2004, I unfortunately live in West Virginia, Which is an all red state, which is not a good place for an autistic, aromantic person like myself to be hanging out in, I'm a nerd as you can see from the posts you're viewing, and Fictional characters give me life, and I love Nintendo and SEGA and I prefer VHSs and DVDs over streaming services, and I'm anti AI.
I am also pretty known for my embarrassing musically account, my four dead Youtube channels, and my very controversial opinions on Angry Birds nowadays.
I wanna try to get a job in Voice acting because I've been practicing and practicing in my room since 2020, but they didn't have a class for voice acting at my high school and I still have anxiety on being on someone's project.
I post incorrect quotes, random posts, Meme posts, art, and rarely posts about life updates.
Also, if the name "Brice" feels familiar to you, then hi, I'm back from the dark realms of Musical.ly and YouTube, and I'm back and cringier than ever. But I promise that I won't be THAT cringy. I'm probably gonna get very cringy with the chances I get.

I also have a Pinterest, Wattpad, Discord and Facebook account all of them have the tumblr name: Briceterry04. (My Facebook account just uses "Brice Terry")
On Pinterest, you will find Posts, and fun comments on some posts on Pinterest that have to do with Mario, Splatoon, Sonic, Kirby, Zelda, and KH related.
On Wattpad, I have many things like my very own series "The Idiot Group" which is basically a parody of Fanfiction in of itself. I also have "Brice Talks" where I talk about something I wanna talk about, "Brice's movie Review" where I will review a movie that is good, or bad, or everything in between.
On Facebook, I post Memes, Life updates, random posts, and Live streams, which may be coming to Tumblr because Facebook is becoming Twitter AKA Xwitter so you might get a voice reveal if I do go live.
Well I hope you can find something here to love!

This is really self indulgent, but I drew something, a piece I recreated from like 2017 lol. I was... fourteen at the time? And I'm so proud of it. I've got an art account to post it to but it's on insta and I've genuinely not opened that account in like four months because if issues that's been going on in my life. It's sorted now but I still don't want to post anything to that profile yet. But I'm also so proud of this piece. And for some reason I just want to share it! I don't care if nobody likes it. I just want to post it. I don't know why, lol.
Anyways, here it is.
Tumblr media
And I'll post the old version so you can like compare.
Tumblr media
I know the dog doesn't look great but it doesn't matter. I'm proud of this.
I used to be a big Minecraft fan (didnt watch any youtubers like dream, in my time it was DanTDM that was the shit). It's on there that I discovered my name and so it holds a deep love and I loved playing with friends. It's so nostalgic to me.
Peter's also changed from then, he doesn't wear those clothes or use that particular bow, his character also changed a lot from what he used to be.
Tumblr media
For anyone curious, he looks like this now. I won't go into detail about his character. This boy has been with me since i was five. I was drawing and writing him ever since I learned how to.
Anyways, here are my peices. Thanks for observing.
