#'the manberg festival' is not an arc
Text
I remember watching the Theseus speech live. My jaw was already on the floor from watching Tubbo be killed and L'Manberg's explosion, and then Techno pulls out the withers and ohhhh no. Has there been a speech moment so iconic since? Will there ever be another? Sure, single lines like the infamous "It was never meant to be." came to define arcs and characters, but Technoblade got up on his stage and delivered a full monologue of classical reference, premonition and impending doom, and absolutely knocked it out of the park. And he improvised it, if memory serves me correct!
There were other similar moments: the injustice speech about the Butcher Army, the moment with Tommy and Dream at the portal (yes, the "I'm sorry Dream, but this guy's with me. Unless... you wanna call in that favour." and the incredible dread), his monologue about the rocket launcher in his base after the Manberg Festival, but truly, nothing on the DSMP can top "You want to be a hero, Tommy? Then die like one!" in build-up and delivery. In Technoblade, we've lost a kind friend, a generous soul and a wickedly-good entertainer.

i 100% agree with what theminecraftbox had to add about c!quackity. i might be biased because he's my blorbo, but i think it's way more interesting to have sexual violence be the one line he REFUSES to cross in the prison. almost like it's a way to protect himself from his own corruption.
a;ljsfkdaslf i'm not too sure that's what kat was saying tbh
(more discussion of noncon under the cut)
i think in terms of c!dreamity, right, i think that the probability probably swings towards c!quackity not doing anything physically of a sexual nature--i think comments and threats are pretty damn likely, tbh, but i can see a separation made for him between the violent nature of what he's doing and, well, sex, for a variety of reasons. because he's a romantic at heart and wants aspects of his relationships/love life kept separate from the bloody depths of pandora, because of his own perceptions of propriety and social norms, what have you. that being said, i think it's fair to make an argument in the opposite direction--what's undeniable, as kat has mentioned, is that there is a degree of restraint regarding matters of a sexual nature w/ respect to the prison, in that if anything of that nature exists he is very obviously much less unapologetic about them compared to how he is around violence and torture in general in the context of pandora (like, there's just very little that's unsubtle about hitting someone with an axe), but the existence of restraint to some degree compared to the much more overt nature of the rest of the torture definitely doesn't in itself prevent torture with sexual elements from existing in totality. just bc he's not walking out of the prison covered in another type of bodily fluids doesnt mean that the frustration and desperation of trying to get the book for another bloody day, with noncon sitting between them as an elephant in the room from day one, combined with the obvious social connotations with power and sex and masculinity and what it means to make someone your bitch, couldn't have all boiled over. ykwim?
again, to stress: if we're talking purely in canon, my opinions tend to skew towards the lack of anything physically happening of a sexual nature during the prison arc torture visits. but the fact of the matter, to me, is that it could have existed and that we wouldn't, like, know. the torture has a curtain drawn over it for a reason; we are kind of meant to wonder what "2 1/2 months of continuous daily torture" is really supposed to mean. i think that the prison arc absolutely has the space for it to include stuff like, violent sexual assault.
which is kinda where i have...different feelings about manberg c!schlackity, tbh. the contexts are so different that this comparison is kinda hard to make, but while the sexual harassment and the abuse in c!quackity's relationship with c!schlatt is obvious and undeniable, i think the manberg arc as presented does provide constraints, to a certain effect, on c!schlackity's relationship? it's important to note that c!schlatt was perceived as a bumbling fool before he was elected, and that's literally part of why c!quackity even made a coalition with him in the first place. it certainly wasn't for ideological reasons, considering his wanting to make a coalition with pog2020 literal minutes before--this guy thought schlatt was his best ticket at beating pog2020, and schlatt was also someone that came off as drunk all the time and completely idiotic. again, i've not rewatched in awhile, but i don't really think c!schlackity was marked by this feeling of c!quackity feeling Trapped By Fear in manberg as much as he grew increasingly disillusioned with the relationship--the greatest evidence of fear as a motivating factor imo would have to happen post-red festival, but that's also a point where c!quackity's frustrations towards schlatt and manberg as a whole were boiling over and i don't really remember much of him using the red festival as evidence that c!schlatt was someone he was afraid to fuck with. as kat mentioned earlier, the physical abuse in c!schlackity was obvious and undeniable, but when it happened it was also the motivating factor for c!quackity to murder c!schlatt and run.
obviously, the sexual elements in c!schlackity are Far more pronounced than anything for c!dreamity, and if we're talking the presence of dubcon in general i feel like c!schlackity definitely has plenty of room for it, even if all you take into account is how c!schlatt was drunk 90% of the time. and w/ the context of how part of the deal for the coalition was framed as c!quackity's use of sex to get himself the position of VP and the ... not nonexistent presence of his lying and manipulating c!schlatt for the sake of power, bc their relationship in manberg really was predicated on power and c!quackity's pursuit of it specifically, there's a lot of ways that i think a sexual relationship for c!schlackity can fall that's far more ambiguous and two-sided than what i've often seen in terms of c!schlackity portrayals. but along that same line, when c!quackity's reaction to physical violence was so pronounced and made a point of, in some manners i feel like portrayals of inescapable sexual abuse and violent sexual assault re: c!schlackity don't really feel in line with what i remember of their relationship in canon; i just don't really feel like manberg as a context provides the same room for it, especially in comparison to pandora's vault, which was kind of the point i was trying to make in answering that anon. that's just me tho .

In Defence of c!Niki - a Four Part Analysis of Every Arc
People who didn’t watch C!Niki see, in the fandom, a big sister type character with girlboss energy who wants to kill a child. Niki isn’t that. She has a well-written narrative which focusses a lot on her relationships with others. Here is me breaking it down!
PART ONE: c!Niki’s Early Days
PART TWO: c!Niki’s Rebellion
PART THREE: c!Niki’s Disillusionment (you are here)
PART FOUR: c!Niki’s Healing
TW FOR THIS SECTION: brief mention of sh, derealisation, a lot of discussion on grief and death. Let me know if I should add more tws
I don’t think c!Niki’s disillusionment arc started on Doomsday, randomly. I think it started on the day of the festival, when Niki watched her friend die, was chased out of her home, and saw how much her best friend had changed.
Despite her anger at Tubbo for his speech (which sounded very pro-Schlatt) she still told Schlatt to let him out once Schlatt and Quackity started to box him in. It still had not been revealed quite yet that Tubbo was a spy, yet Niki still stood up for Tubbo regardless of how she felt about him. That’s the thing about Niki. She is a good person with sound morals who will support people even if their views don’t align with hers, because she knows what’s right and what’s wrong and she won’t let ‘wrong’ happen to anyone.
Once Techno killed him, Schlatt literally fucking exiled her.
N: You killed him!
S: yeah, I did. I did fucking kill him, Niki.
N: you are so cruel- how could you do that? After everything he has done for you?!
S: he’s been a thorn in my side since-
N: I DONT EVEN WANT TO BE HERE.
S: he-
N: I DON’T EVEN WANT TO BE HERE!
S: […] you can leave if you want
N: ….Where am I supposed to go?
Manberg may not be Niki’s home but L’Manberg is and it always will be. That’s why the thought of leaving for good hurt her so much. Wilbur comes out into the open after she says this, and he defends her.
S: you really crawled up here on the day of my festival, celebrating my country. That you are not a part of. And you started- you started crying.
W: You sounded like you were gonna murder another person.
S: no, I was only gonna murder Tubbo.
W: you sounded like you were gonna go for Niki.
S: he’s the only person- well I mean, Niki..
N: what?
S: I might murder Niki, actually. I might murder her.
Wilbur tells her to run. Fundy gives Schlatt arrows but he and Quackity tell Schlatt not to do it, all the while Niki’s getting chased out of the country she used to love. This solidifies for her the fact that she truly has lost everything. Ponk chased her down and he killed her - Ponk, who a few streams before, Niki had called a friend. Earlier Techno had also killed her, when he shot at the audience after killing Tubbo. According to the wiki neither of those are canon deaths but I think they should be. At the very least, being killed by Ponk should be.
She joined Pogtopia that day, and Niki already had heard about Wilbur’s plans from Tommy. He, her and Tubbo had all vowed to get L’Manberg back and at this point in time, Tommy was the person she trusted the most. Her relationship with Tubbo had been ruined because of her thinking she was on Schlatt’s side - and even now that she knew he hadn’t been, it didn’t change the fact that he did not stick up for her while she was there. Her relationship with Wilbur was still a close one but she was scared for him and worried for L’Manberg’s future. But Tommy hadn’t wronged her, and she knew she could trust him to help with Wilbur.
Her birthday party was where she really saw the extent of Wilbur’s mental decline first hand and was completely powerless in stopping it. The day had been going so well, and she’d been having fun, until Wilbur went to blow up Manberg. Niki had to beg him to stop playing the anthem and Quackity talked him down from blowing it up, but Niki was terrified.
This is when Niki began working on her Secret City - intended to be a safe space away from the conflict, or a last resort for refugees if the war went badly.
On November 16th, Niki was hopeful, especially after Techno revealed his armoury. That day, Niki also defended Eret when they were accused of being the traitor, saying she trusted them and that they helped her. Once again, proving her loyalty and the fact she was grateful for people who stuck by her side.
We all know what happened later. After they got L’Manberg back, and were cleaning up, Niki found the TNT Wilbur had placed under the podium. She made sure nobody else saw it and she hid it again. Because after everything, Niki still believed in Wilbur. She was still loyal to him. She still saw the good in him and trusted that he wouldn’t. But he did.
She’d kept her promise, she’d been loyal to him and L’Manberg, and it didn’t change anything. She didn’t manage to help anything. And Wilbur, the one person Niki believed would always be there for her, no matter what, betrayed her. And she couldn’t even ask him why. So after that she was left hopeless and never wanted to let anyone in again. But as much as Niki didn’t want to, that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
Tommy reminded the L’Manbergians that the L’Mantree was still there. And I think Niki found that comforting, at the very least. She asked Tubbo what they were going to do with Wilbur’s body and his only response was “let him rot”. She and Tommy were the only ones who didn’t laugh.
At this point Tommy became a constant, for Niki. He’d been there since she joined, he was the only one who understood that she still wanted Wilbur back, and in her eyes he was able to take on his role in the sense of inspiring them all.
So, of course it hit her hard when he tried to blame her for burning down George’s house. Then, he’s exiled and the next time she heads from him it’s because he blew up the community house - we know he didn’t, but Niki didn’t. She begins to see Tommy as someone who just causes problems on the SMP, nothing more. She thinks he’s arrogant and a nuisance and that he doesn’t care for anyone.
When it comes to Niki’s character it’s vital that we understand - she has been through so much pain that got overlooked by everyone around her. At this point, she was poor, grieving, and felt as if nobody in New L’Manberg listened to her. She was going through the lowest point in her life and nobody in that nation seemed to care.
And she couldn’t hate everyone for it so she needed someone to blame and that happened to be Tommy. He didn’t deserve it but he was an easy target. And it’s true that he wasn’t kind to her, but he wasn’t the only one, and he was obviously going through his own things. But Niki was angry and she needed somewhere to put her anger. Is that fair? Not at all. But it’s what happened.
N: L’Manberg has not been L’Manberg. For many weeks. Maybe even months, maybe even.. maybe even, I don’t know.. since the start? […] I want the people to realise L’Manberg is not what they think it is. I want them to open their eyes and stop being in this circle.. in this circle of fighting for it. Because that will not bring us anywhere.
Do I even need to say anything? She fought for it for so long, on her own, and lost everything and everyone anyway.
On Doomsday, she spoke to Ranboo.
N: Do you.. do you really think L’Manberg should be safe today? …Ranboo, I will- If you think that we should fight for L’Manberg today, I will fight with you. Because I believe in you. And I always believed in you.
R: I think we should. […] the thing is, if we don’t fight with them, then what are we showing them? We’re showing them that we never cared about them.
N: .. i care about them, I really do. But I got.. hurt by them… They always talk over me, Ranboo. You know how that feels.
R: yeah. But like you remember yesterday, sometimes you just have to get louder.
N: You’re right..
R: sometimes you just have to get louder until they have no choice but to hear you.
And good god, isn’t that exactly what she did? Something something, peaceful protest is ignored (striking at her bakery, not paying her taxes, verbally standing up to Schlatt). OSomething something, she got louder. (Burning down the L’Mantree, blowing up her bakery)
An underrated line from Doomsday though? Niki telling her chat that she needed to save Puffy. I think she was muted so you’d only hear the line if you were on her stream, but she tried to help Puffy after and seemed distressed that she couldn’t get to her. Puffychu crumbs.
She held it together until she saw Ghostbur, believing she was hallucinating and repeating to herself that Wilbur was gone and that he betrayed her. She doesn’t want to care, but she does. And the idea of Wilbur still existing terrifies her, because what does that say about her grief? And if her grief isn’t justified, then the things she’s done definitely aren’t. As long as Wilbur is dead, Niki feels like she has a reason for her anger.
During her meltdown Niki is rambling. ‘Wilbur is dead’ becomes ‘L’Manberg is dead’ which becomes ‘L’Manberg is gone’ which becomes ‘I am gone’ and ‘I am L’Manberg’. This reveals a lot about Niki, even if it may seem nonsensical at first glance.
I’ve made a post before about how for crime boys, L’Manberg is interchangeable with the other person (For Tommy, it’s Wilbur. For Wilbur, it’s Tommy.) And I think that this is the same thing for Niki. L’Manberg is Wilbur. Wilbur couldn’t live without L’Manberg, and L’Manberg isn’t the same without Wilbur.
Then, she is gone and she is L’Manberg. Niki isn’t the same person she used to be and she’s starting to think that she can’t live without L’Manberg either, not happily, anyway. But at the same time, she helps to destroy it because the memories are too much to bare, and all it does is remind her of all the times she’s been hurt there. She can’t see the good in it anymore.
Destroying her own bakery was somewhere between emotional self-harm and trying to separate herself from L’Manberg as much as possible. There could’ve also been a sense of survivors guilt? Everyone else’s homes and things were destroyed but Niki’s bakery was untouched, and she found that really unsettling.
She talks to Jack about why she burnt down the tree, saying it was because she’s lost everyone.
J: that’s not a very good way of going ‘hey, I wanna be friends again’, burning down their sacred tree.
N: i don’t want to be friends with any of them again! Have you seen them?
J: then why do you care?!
N: because it hurt me! […] we both have been ignored by all of them all the time. We walk behind them slowly and-and carefully because they will ignore us all the time but we wanna be part! We wanna be part- we’re like little puppies, aren’t we?! Like little puppies, just walking and walking. But they’re never going to see us. All we are for them is something to take something from. […] whats the difference between these people and us? When we lose something, we lost it. And we grieve it. And it will be a part of us. When they lose something? They move on and they find something new.
I feel like people who think c!Niki is badly written or don’t like her just watch this stream and think she is overreacting because they don’t know her lore. But none of this came out of nowhere.
The thing is, Niki was ignored throughout Manberg and New L’Manberg by Tubbo and Fundy and sometimes even Eret. Niki has had things taken from her by Schlatt and Tommy. She has seen everyone move on from Wilbur when she couldn’t.
I think the other characters did care about her - Wilbur definitely did and Tommy did too. Karl did, Eret did, Puffy did. But it’s so difficult for her to see that because the love is so quiet in comparison to everything else. She’s no longer an idealist, she can’t see it when it isn’t right in front of her. And that doesn’t mean she’s wrong. She’s not completely right, but she’s not wrong about being used and feeling unwanted. That did happen.
So why does this turn into hatred at Tommy? Like I said earlier - he was a constant. The only one she still had after Wilbur, but he didn’t seem like he cared about her. In Niki’s eyes he became just like the rest of them - he used her left, and then when he came back she thought he’d replaced Wilbur with Techno and was now replacing him with Tubbo.
(I’m not saying I think that’s what happened but it’s what Niki saw. This part of my analysis is also partly speculation and partly based on things Niki said after the fact, because I can’t find the vod where she and Jack decided to target Tommy specifically, I think there’s a missing one between Niki’s Doomsday vod and the one where Jack tells her about the nukes.)
She directs her anger at him also because it gives her an ally. Jack blames Tommy for most of what’s happened to him, because Tommy resulted in him losing his second life; if Niki agrees that it’s his fault then she has Jack. So unconsciously she starts directing her anger more towards him.
The thing about Tommy is that he’s loud. He’s annoying. He can be rude. He doesn’t take things seriously, especially when he’s being painted in the wrong, because he doesn’t know how to handle it so he just deflects.
That makes him a really easy target for anger. But the vast majority of what happened to Niki was never Tommy’s fault. She blames him for Doomsday, she’s angry that he used her, and she’s processing her grief of Wilbur through hating Tommy. That’s why she does what she does.

If it was up to me the dsmp Manberg/Pogtopia arc would be two parts like season a and b if that makes sense. The first part would be focused on Manberg and Tommy and Wilbur building up Pogtopia. The mid season finale would be Tubbo’s death and the festival and be longer then the others. These are some random thoughts about how it would go.
The episode would end in a bang. (Literally) with Tubbos death
It’s mentioned many times that Tubbo decorated the festival himself and Tubbo is obviously very proud of that.
Wilbur and Tommy look much thinner and dirtier as they hide on the roof watching the party below them. Tommy’s hair is darker and more like Wilburs
Tubbo and Schlatt’s suits match as well as their hair.
During the build up to Tubbo’s death Schlatt is in an uncharacteristic good mood. He and Tubbo even have a cute moment where Schlatt fixes his tie for him and tells him he’s doing a good job and Tubbo visibly beams.
Quackity summons a dagger when Schlatt threatens to kill Tubbo (a reference to him pointing a crossbow at Schlatt in the og dsmp) but hesitates and puts it away a moment later. The tip of the dagger is crusted with blood suggesting he’s used it before.
Fundy steps forwards to try and psychically confront Schlatt and Quackity grabs his arm.
When Tubbo is killed Schlatt and Quackity are be thrown back and knocked unconscious by the blast, a nod to their non canon deaths.
Fundy is blown back as well but falls into the water at the bottom of the stage where he’s dragged out by Niki
Tubbo and Tommy lock eyes on stage and Tubbo opens his mouth but looks away instead of speaking.
Wilbur seems to sense what’s going to happen moments before the blast and pulls Tommy away from the edge of the roof.
Before the festival you see Sapnap and Quackity talking in the background fighting about something. Later we find out they kissed and are fighting about that.
Niki has to be held back by Schlatt’s soldiers.
This is one of the few times we see Schlatt not drunk.
The episode end with flashing colors from the firework filling the screen and goes straight to credits with out outro music

Writing Manberg is funny because it was objectively shitty and had some terrible moments but they were also just fucking around for most of it. Fundy has his t4t escapades. Schlatt mostly just wanders around and tries not to die in a river. They build a bunch of shit and then dont put anything in it. It was mostly just people hanging out with occasional veiled threats before the festival
YEAH ITS SO FUCKING FUNNY. In retrospect it’s realy funny how scary Schlatt was even though he was like entirely incapable of walking around without almost dying instantly….. though the bunch of empty buildings while citizens are miserable and starving does sound very scary and familiar. Guess Q did take a bunch of inspiration from him… Manberg was such good fun
Fundy’s t4t escapades were just as on the nose with his manberg arc’s theming too. TO ME!!!! Initially thinking he could control and boss H around as much as he wanted almost to be immediately knocked down a peg (lol) . Life is full of disappointments and miscalculations but at least with H he got. Something out of it

Tommy
Killed by Dream in the prison
Fun facts:
There are 58 total deaths!
Dream has the highest and most varied kill count, with at least 12 kills under his belt
The bloodiest event was the Egg Finale
Jack was killed by most of SBI: Tommy, Wil, and Techno
Connor and Schlatt are ghosts even though they only lost 2 lives on the server
The only person who has killed Tommy is Dream
The War of Independence has the least canon deaths
Antfrost’s, Mexican Dreams’s and Tommy’s second death, and Quackity’s first death are the only ones caused by a mutually agreed fight/duel. Everything else is murder intentional or accidental.
Schlatt’s and Sam’s final deaths are the only ones caused by body problems, not outsiders. Curiously both had 2 lives when it happened.
MD is the only player to be canonically killed by a mob.
With BadBoyHalo and Skeppy sharing a death count, is actually very hard to tell how many lives they actually have left.
Even if C!Ranboo said that he only had one life when he died, he did die in canon 3 separate times.
Is shown that anyone revived has a single life, as Tommy was sent to purgatory when he was killed again. Jack is the exception.
12 have all three lives: George, Sapnap, Callahan, Alyssa, Eret, Niki, Hbomb, Puffy, Tina, Boomer, Jack, and Michael
8 have 2 lives: Karl, Foolish, Charlie, Aimsey, Purpled, SeaPeeKay, Hannah, and Eryn
11 have 1 life: Phil, Technoblade, Fundy, Tubbo, Wilbur, Tommy, Quackity, Dream, Punz, Antfrost, and Ponk
6 have none: Schlatt, Mexican Dream, Ranboo, Lazar, Vikkstar, and Connor
3 are Unknown: BBH, Skeppy, and Sam

I came up with that AU the other day thats like, what if Wilbur approached Tubbo to make drugs first which leads to Tubbo becoming his right hand man instead of Tommy, but I had some issues properly developing it because if their personalities and goals stay the same and its just that one change then nothing is really different after the Manberg/Pogtopia war because Tommy would still reject the presidency for his discs and Tubbo wouldnt get himself exiled and even if he did something exile-worthy, Dream wouldnt double down the way he did in canon, because he cares about Tommy and his discs and not Tubbo. However, Im rewatching Tommys exile vods and he keeps going on about "if the roles were reversed and Tubbo was exiled" and it gave me some ideas
So, I still dont really know how Tubbo would get himself exiled, so Im not even gonna talk about it
First, I do think Tommy would want to visit him even if they had an argument before the exile and I definitely think Dream would be spending a lot of time with him in order to prevent it (and yknow, for manipulation reasons). Tommy would probably be a lot less suceptible to Dreams emotional manipulation attempts since he has more of a support system in Lmanberg, so I feel like Dream might try to influence the way he runs Lmanberg instead. I think Tommy would struggle quite a lot with being the president and it would make him feel bad on top of missing Tubbo, so Dream could maybe exploit that idk
I dont really know if Tubbo would actually have more visitors like Tommy is saying because yeah, Tommy was pretty destructive and some people didnt like him but he did have friends who (aside from Tubbo kinda) really had no reason not to stop by. Idk, I'd say he would get as many visitors as Tommy in canon, he just would actively push them away because he doesnt have the mindset of "oh theyre just doing this out of pity and I dont like it" (although thats something that could develop over the course of his exile)
Back when the exile arc was still on-going, there were speculations that Tommy would join Dream and become a protegee of sorts and nothing close to that ended up happening BUT I feel like Tubbo would be more likely to join Dream if he was put in that situation. Like, Tommy has said multiple times that the disc are the most important thing to himand I feel like that already kinda got to him but if he was isolated with Dream manipulating him, I think it could convince him to join him. And then we could have a really interesting conflict between Tommy and Tubbo and really confront the fact that he seems to care more about his discs than literally anything else. I think there would also be some good internal conflict from Tubbo because yknow, siding with Dream has historically gone bad for former presidents of Lmanberg. ALSO maybe he would think a lot about that thing Wilbur told him during the festival that was like "youre just a yes-man" and reflect on that or something
This would be the point where the AU starts diverting more and more from canon since Tubbo doesnt move in with Techno n Phil and all that doesnt happen because hes still just with Dream, but i dont really know how exactly it would divert rn. Maybe I'll come up with that as Im watching idk

Okay I have some serious buisness question regarding your coming out as a DSMP Enthusiast !
How did this happen ?
Who's your favorite characters and favorite "group" ( like happyduo, emeraldduo, SBI ect .. ) ?
If any, your favorite ships ?
Annndddd your favorite arc :D
( If you respond to all of that you can't hide from the dsmp fan allegation anymore, I'm sorry )
Ooh boy, I'm putting my answers under the read more because this is going to be a long one /lh
SO !
I've actually been a DSMP fan since like. 2020 ? Joined the fandom about a week before November 16th, it was the first big event I watched live 👀 It all happened because an artist I originally followed for Ace Attorney content posted an animation meme of two characters I didn't know yet, but immediately took a liking to.....
youtube
How very surprising indeed :D But yeah, these two are the ones that dragged me in – this and the awesome art, of course X) The funny thing is, I immediately went on to read fanfics instead of, idk, watching past VODs/best-ofs, and immediately got spoiled 75% of the plot in the process :') But yeah, this isn't exactly a recent thing, I've been around here for over two years at this point 😭 Just never really posted about it anywhere except on AO3 until recently
Regarding characters, as you might have guessed based on, y'know, recent interactions, c!Schlatt's pretty much been my favorite ever since I learnt of the DSMP's existence X) But c!Eret, c!Puffy, c!Punz and c!Wilbur are also among my favorites :D As for groups... god, duo names are going to be the death of me, but I really like Sweaterduo, Pumpkinduo, Prankduo, Stagedduo, Traitorduo, whatever Schlatt & Fundy's duo name is, Sheep Siblings (as in Schlatt and Puffy, I don't typically include Tubbo in there (I know they never really interacted but. They did in my heart </3 (and in this like, one BBH livestream I keep preciously))), the Knights of Eret, and both Manberg and Pogtopia :)
Regarding ships, well, Puffychu comes to mind, of course <3 But uh,,, I also have a,,, certain affection for,,,,, *sigh* Drunz
And, well, my favorite arc has to be the Manberg vs Pogtopia arc :3c I mean, not only is the nostalgia talking, but it's also got my favorite villain (and favorite character overall), sooo many betrayals, Wilbur's fascinating character arc, the beginning of Eret's redemption, the festival, Techno's arrival, the election scene, November 16th– So so so cool, my god <3 I also really liked the Egg arc, but I wish it could have had a more satisfying conclusion than what it had – there wasn't much to see after the Red Banquet, which is a shame because I'm a huge fan of possession stories :< But that's life I guess !
All this to say. Yeah the allegations have grabbed me by the neck and are shaking me like I'm a wet kitten 😔 Though to be fair, I suspect my DSMP x RPZ AU would have made that obvious soon enough anyway 😭

techno literally killed more people with fireworks at the festival than eret “killed” in the final control room. it’s been like 1,5 years, let her have her say, she’s been trampled over and spat out for things that wilbur asked her to do. coming from a techno stan :]
context: [Link]
anon I'm sorry but, I'm genuinely perplexed. there are actually people in the year 2022 that don't know the difference between canon and non-canon deaths? I didn't think that was still a problem we were working through.
to sum it up:
not every death on the server is equal, and in fact Most of them aren’t substantial at all. minecraft is a game that makes death very easy and this is a live improve roleplay between three dozen people, to treat every single death as actual murder would be absurd.
but to take death completely off the table for roleplay purposes would mean cutting off avenues for the stories that they’re able to tell and lower the tension. there would be no revival book without death, there would be november 16th without death, and so there was a compromise.
“canon deaths” are events that people agree to treat separately from non-canon deaths. everyone has three canon lives, and when you lose one this is typically both a physically And mentally traumatic event. this is someone Literally being killed and either respawning with physical scars from their death (like tubbo’s burns) or staying in limbo.
that’s not to say that a non-canon death Can’t have weight, and in fact a character doesn’t need to die at all for it to be traumatizing. it just depends on Intent within the roleplay. there’s a difference between two characters messing with each other for fun and, say, the pit or dream’s physical abuse during exile. and the difference is shown Through the roleplay.
and this is all because minecraft is Limited in how you’re able to interact with the world and with other players. you Can’t show a physical difference between playfully shoving someone into water and trying to drown someone, so the difference has to be acted out.
to interact with the series Without acknowledging all of this is to undermine their ability to Tell a story in the first place. it fundamentally breaks the audience’s relationship with the world and the characters in it.
the final control room was four Canon Deaths happening at once, followed by the loss of tommy’s second life in the duel. there Is no other event on the server where that many canon deaths were lost at once. not manberg v pogtopia, not new l’manberg, not doomsday, not the disc war finale, not the egg arc, none of it. and that’s a Big Deal !
this was a mass slaughter like the server has never seen before or since. and this has had a Massive impact on the characters and what came after it. and to not acknowledge this fact is to, again, not engage with the story as it’s being told.
as for Wilbur having an impact on eret... No He Hasn’t.
that is outright a lie.
wilbur asked eret to join l’manberg and she did. he didn’t ask eret to cause four deaths, he didn’t ask her to make a deal with dream.
wilbur did absolutely nothing to eret personally, he barely even Spoke to her. l’manberg was not hers when it was destroyed. and then wilbur committed suicide.
I genuinely do not see where anybody could get the idea that wilbur Told Eret To Do Something that hurt her in any tangible way.
I’ve been an eret swinger for a long time, I was Invested in her growth as a character and her redemption arc. but people turning around and saying “that guy committing suicide was Really selfish to the person who got him murdered actually” is such a batshit take.
“eret got four people murdered like two years ago, so it should be water under the bridge ! wilbur still needs to be held accountable for killing himself though, he’s a selfish and awful person for having done that,” like. My God.
here are more of my thoughts on the stream and conversation around it for anyone curious [Link 1, Link 2, Link 3, Link 4, Link 5]

I'm having too many thoughts of fucking soulmates aus now so have some little tidbits for a potential fic or smth I may write. This is dsmp based I'm sorry.
Soulmates take a while to form, and the bond is only truly established during moments of large emotional impact with your soulmate, whether it's stressful and traumatic or an extremely happy moment. Before then, the bond isn't final and therefore any effects such as intertwined lives doesn't get taken into account until the marks show up. Soulmates also don't form until people are around 16.
Soul marks! They show up when the bond is finally established, and tend to be something mutually significant. It can be a scar, a birthmark or even like a tattoo.
Soulmate bonds can break in certain circumstances, such as an event that may make them feel severely disconnected from their soulmate/others.
Lives are intertwined, if one dies, then the other also dies.
List of people I think would be soulmates:
Wilbur and Quackity, they realised during the burger van arc.
Sapnap and Karl.
George doesn't have a soulmate for reasons (XD wanted George so he was made off-limits)
Tubbo and Ranboo, obviously. The bond doesn't sever with Ranboo's death.
Techno and Phil. It's not romantic or a qpr, they're just destined besties and that's okay.
Ponk and Sam, but after the whole mess their bond was severed. Neither have picked up a new soulmate bond yet.
Ant and Velvet.
Skeppy and Bad, though their bond became severed after the eggpire shit.
Lazarbeam and Vikkstar, their bond was established during the revive book experiment stuff. Platonic or not, your decision.
Niki and Puffy have a sort of strained bond, however they still remain soulmates. Niki and Jack are self-declared platonic soulmates, destined besties if you will.
Purpled and Fundy are platonic soulmates, becoming so bonding over the whole betrayal from Las Nevadas thing.
Schlatt and Quackity were soulmates, though during Manberg it faded until it severed during the red festival.
On the line of faded bonds: Eret and Wilbur (platonic), who's bond was severed during the final control room.
Eret and Foolish become platonic soulmates when Foolish comes to the smp.
Tommy and Tubbo are unofficial platonic soulmates, with Ranboo being pulled into the mix when his and Tubbo's bond is established. They're besties for life and have little marks for each other they all redo. Tubbo still refreshes his mark for Tommy. Tommy keeps both of his.
I feel like these wouldn't have soulmates:
Slimecicle due to his species not having soulmates.
Punz simply because they have no interest in soulmates.
Jack doesn't have an 'official' soulmate but he has an unofficial soulmate.
Connor is too busy being sonic.
And, of course, the last ones I've got some modicum of an idea for: Tommy and Dream, platonic soulmates. Dream specifically fostered that type of bond during exile to keep Tommy linked to him, so he wouldn't be killed during the final disc confrontation.
To expand on discduo, here's some fun tidbits about them:
Their bond is established during the beach party, as that is when Tommy accepts Dream is truly his only friend and the only one to care for him. It's one established due to extreme stress and desperation, and due to the unhealthy obsession on Dream's part.
During exile, Dream purposefully damaged the area Tommy originally kept his mark for Tubbo, punishing him if he tried to fix it or redo it. Tommy eventually stopped doing it all-together.
Little sidenote: Techno was the one who encouraged him to redo it after exile, despite thinking that nobody in L'Manberg wanted Tommy, because he values the importance of soulmates despite everything.
The only reason Dream went with them during the disc confrontation was because Tommy threatened to die otherwise, which would reveal their bond and Dream wanted that secret for fucked up evil reasons. Except, their bond doesn't have their lives intrinsically intertwined, only their mortality (so if Tommy is mortal, Dream is, and if Tommy is immortal, Dream is immortal too).
Their bond hasn't broken despite the prison and such, as revival caused it to become a permanent bond due to Dream being the one to revive him. Tommy tries his best to cover the mark.
Anyways that's my fucked up evil lil soulmate au, just some good old discduo shit going on. Feel free to give more fucked up evil ideas.

timeline shenanigans
alright so i realized that my whumptober prompts wind up skipping around the timeline a WHOLE lot so i think i should probably put an explanation of how that all goes on here!
TLDR: i see dsmp canon as being considerably longer than what we have in terms of IRL time. longer explanation under the cut
okay. so. lets talk timeline. my main dsmp canon timeline centers ctubbo and how old he is which. is kinda funny but also makes things hard to explain. so let’s try to figure this out. i also operate under the assumption that the world is filled with WAY more people than we see on stream, so keep that in mind.
5000+ years before DSMP: philza (32) dies. in her grief, trixtin (31) ascends to godhood and becomes Death, making philza her angel
1000+ years pre-DSMP: eret and foolish meet. at some point, eret dies, and foolish makes a deal with death so that they reincarnate.
~370 years pre-DSMP: eret is reincarnated as a royal
~200 years pre-DSMP: wither cult era. victorian england type vibes.
~100 years pre-DSMP: eret and foolish reunite on a train (link to a fic!)
now we get into the tubbo-centric stuff. this is how i understand the timeline which. rip. let’s see how we do with this. in terms of time, assume that like cctubbo, ctubbo’s birthday is in late december
4: tubbo is found on the side of the road by philza (5000+) and taken in
10.5: tommy (10) is found by wilbur (19-20) and taken in. elsewhere, the royal/greater SMP is founded
11: tommy (10.5), tubbo, and wilbur (20) go out into the world, meet eret (19), wind up in the territory known to us as the Dream SMP
11.5: l’manberg is founded, starts as a small commune of sorts, and people begin joining.
12.5: fundy is born, ages at a 7:1 ratio (by the time he is 1 full year old, he is the equivalent of a 7 yr old)
14: l’manberg declares independence, war begins
15: fundy’s aging slows down once he reaches adulthood (3 years of existing, equivalent to 21 human years)
16 (may/june): final control room and deal with dream happen. l’manberg gains independence
16.9 (like. november.): wilbur (26) decides to hold an election
17 (january): schlatt wins election shortly after tubbo’s 17th birthday. tommy (16.5) and wilbur (26) are exiled, form pogtopia
17.9 (december): manberg festival happens Weeks before tubbo’s 18th birthday.
18.4 (may/june): manberg vs pogtopia war. wilbur (26) names tubbo as interim president, blows up manberg city square as cleanup efforts begin, dies
18.5 (june/july): ranboo (18.7) moves to the DSMP
18.7 (october): interim president tubbo is named Real President amid chaos following wilbur’s death
19 (january): shortly after birthday, george’s house is burned down. investigation takes a month (start of february), and at the end, tommy is exiled.
19 (early early may): tommy (19) escapes exile; butcher army + techno’s execution happens. one day later, tubbo goes to visit tommy, discovers that he has “died”
19 (july): doomsday; stays in royal SMP territory for a while
19 (august): disc confrontation; dream is put in prison
20: sets out of the SMP with a number of l’manberg survivors and founds snowchester. nukes begin being built
21 (jan-april): gets married, adopts michael (3). tommy (20.9) is trapped in the prison, dies, is revived around march. nuke goes missing.
21 (may): red banquet happens
21 (june/july): wilbur (26, mentally 40) revived, las nevadas formed
22: invited to las nevadas
22 (march/april): burger arc
22 (july): prison break, ranboo (22.9) dies; revengers save michael (4.5)
edit/sidenote: ive got fics that divert from this bit specifically. within the king of kings timeline, michael is rescued from snowchester and brought to the castle, and stays there until after ranboo dies.
22 (september): wilbur apology tour
that’s as far as we have, so that’s what i’ve got in terms of timeline! hopefully this makes things make a little more sense when it comes to how much time is mentioned to have passed later on. some fun facts about this list: 1) wilbur is dead for five years instead of six months. the limbo time dilation stays the same though. 2) dream is in prison for just under two years.
okay that’s it. xoxoxo

I catagorised every death/situation where people died on DSMP using amount. THIS IS ONLY CANNON DEATHS:
The Most Cruel Act Comited: Vik and Lazar! Thats at least 8 in all, and whyyyyyyyy!
———
Worstest: Eret how could you sell them out? The L’manburg massacre during the war for L’Manberg Independence resulted in 4 cannon deaths: Tubbo was killed by Sapnap, Tommy died while trying to escape Dream, Wilbur was killed by Punz, and Fundy tried to hide with invis in a corner but forgot to take off his pants so George killed him (and an amazing quote)
———
Then theres a 4-way tie for second place:
Manberg Festival: Tubbo was blown up on stage by Techno, after Schlatt forced his hand, and Schlatt ended up being collateral to the explosive
Red Banquet: Foolish was killed by Ant as a sacrifice for the egg, and Ant was killed by Puffy as revenge for him killing Foolish
Confrontation of Las Nevadas: Purpled then Quackity were pushed out the window by Slime
Puffy’s Off the Rails Birthday: Ponk trried to kill Sam, but Sam lead Ponk into a trap where Ponk was blown up by TNT, and Sam used a stasis chamber to get away, but died due to wounds inflected by Ponk
———
Then all of the one person deaths:
Tommy dying in a duel against Dream
Wilbur died to Punz as he tried to escape the newly christened Manburg
Schlatt was killed by Quackity following the Manburg Festival
Jack was killed by an bloodthirsty Wilbur during the Manburg versus Pogtopia War
Schlatt died to a heart attack during the Manburg versus Pogtopia War
Wilbur convinced Phil to kill him - assisted suicide - at the end of the Manburg versus Pogtopia War
Karl died in a planned explosion - he knew it would happen and was okay with it - set off by Quackity, in an attempt to frame Eret
Quackity was killed by Techno after New L’Manburg’s attempt to execute Techno
Jack was pushed into lava and accidentally killed by Tommy, when he visited Tommy in (Tommy’s second) exile
Mexican Dream died protecting Mamacita from a zombie while visiting Tommy in (Tommy’s second) exile
Mexican Dream was killed taking a bullet for Juan Mendez shot by Dream
Mexican Dream was killed by Dream when he attempted to duel Dream (the key word being attempted) while visiting Tommy in (Tommy’s second) exile
Jack was killed by Techno in the Doomsday War (after putting up a very impressive fight)
Dream was killed by Tommy in Dream’s vault at the end if the Disc War Saga
Dream was killed by Tommy in Dream’s vault at the end if the Disc War Saga
Tommy was killed by Dream when he was stuck with Dream during the Prison Lockdown
Ponk was killed by Sam in response to Ponk stealing a prison keycard in the Keycard Incident during the Egg Arc
Skeppy died when Bad accidentally killed him by shoving Skeppy into lava by the Egg during the Egg Arc
Bad, due to the fact that Bad has infinite lives, and can only die when Skeppy looses all of his cannon lives, it seems to fit here.
Ghostbur??? Does he really count???
Slime was killed when Purpled shoved him into lava, as revenge against Quackity (canonically on 14 September 2021, streamed on 27 November 2021)
Connor revealed that he had lost a life on an earlier date due to “having a bad day”
Ranboo was killed by Sam, after Sam tried to hold Ranboo hostage during the Prision Jailbreak
Ranboo is implied to have lost a life before the Prision Jailbreak
Ranboo is implied to have lost a life before the Prision Jailbreak
Sam was killed by Dream as revenge for Dream’s prison treatment and a condition for Dream letting Sam out of Pandora’s Vault
Aimsey died due to fall damage when Tubbo pushed her off the Prime Path to kill them, due to an argument over Aimsey’s daisy
Fundy killed himself after talking to Wilbur when Wilbur was trying to apologize to everyone he had wronged
Connor died when Wilbur and Niki sold his soul or something to DreamXD to get Friend into the afterlife
CPK was killed by Ant about trusting each other over the Egg’s reaperance during Puffy’s Off the Rails Birthday
Ant was killed by Bad when they were having a fight about trusting eachother over the Egg’s reaperance during Puffy’s Off the Rails Birthday
Hannah was killed when she tried to kill Eryn over trusting him over the Egg’s reaperance by the Egg and Bad killed her during Puffy’s Off the Rails Birthday
Eryn was killed when a newly Egg-corrupted Puffy pushed them into lava by the Egg during Puffy’s Off the Rails Birthday
Bad was killed by the newly Egg corrupted Puffy (as a sacrifice) by the Egg during Puffy’s Off the Rails Birthday
Do you think I should re-arange any sections?

A lot of people try to paint c!Quackity as a major villain during the Manberg arc, and I’m not going to pretend that it isn’t partially because of Evanmcgaming’s video on that arc because hoooooly shit that was all questionable as hell. From introducing Quackity with stereotypical Mexican music in the background to painting him as, well, Schlatt’s bitch, to borrow a phrase, it really was not good. And considering the fact that Evan didn’t the fact that Quackity had even killed Schlatt in the first place, taking a life, or that Quackity wasn’t down with almost any of the policies enacted, well…
The most sympathetic view of c!Quackity we get for the entire video is from the festival when Tubbo gets killed, and it’s Quackity, shocked, doing his nervous laughter thing and trying to figure out what was actually going on after helping brick Tubbo up in the cage or whatever. (It’s been a good couple months since I watched this btw) But even then Quackity was still! The bad guy! And not, say, Techno for killing Tubbo!

Foe of Tomorrow [Dream SMP x OC]
Tumblr media
Foe of Tomorrow is a DREAM SMP Fanfiction in which I inserted an Oc. As I add the OC, there will be changes in the original timeline and story plot. I do not own the DREAM SMP or the characters in here except my OC and Plot line. Please enjoy!
Tumblr media
In Addition:
-This took place in Tommyinnit's Exile. Therefore, this is after the death of Wilbur Soot. And it only meant that this was after The Manberg Festival Arc. And as I said, I made a few (A LoT) changes. The first few chapters was inspired by 1XAlineX1's story, "The Protector" from Wattpad. And maybe, this time, Tommy will finally get his Villain Arc.
-This was labeled mature because of the following contents:
[Gore, War, Dark Content, Toxic Household, Mommy Issues, and other things that can be labeled as a trigger for a few viewers.]
-I was actually thinking that I can make the backrooms have a connection here. BUT! I won't tell any of you why, because it can possibly spoil big time.
-I love symbolism and hidden or double meanings, so look at all of them it can help in understanding the plot.
Disclaimer:
As you read the names of the characters below, you could see that I used their real names except, Technoblade and Dream's and other members of the Dream SMP that still hasn't revealed their names, because I do know that Techno does not like his real name mentioned and I am unsure if Dream wants anyone to use his real name, so please try to understand that.
I won't put any Dream SMP ships not unless it is canon, because first of all, for all we know... They don't like the ship that was bestowed upon them. So I am trying to limit the shipping here.
Lastly, most ocs get hates especially the owners of that oc. And so, if you do not like this book because it is an oc x certain fandom and is expecting an x reader, please leave quietly and do not cause trouble in here.
