can i request a scenario of bakugou with a chubby!s/o who's confident in her body type?
@burgvndy this is for you. Thank you so much for the inspo💕
You’d always been a plus sized girl and you loved everything about your body. The only person who loved your body more than you was the man you were in love with!
Katsuki was not the biggest fan of PDA this is true, which is probably why all the hero blogs and Stan pages thought he was so uninterested in you. They were always questioning how you got him and why he stayed around.
But they don’t know!!! No one but your close friend really know that this man is WHIPPED!
One of the first times Katsuki had seen you, you’d had on this short skirt with your thighs all bare and you nearly sent the poor man into cardiac arrest.
Your size never stopped you from wearing whatever the hell you wanted and Katsuki was attracted to that confidence too.
Every time you made the slightest move he swore you were gonna flash him and it took every ounce of willpower to keep his eyes off you.
Then you went and sat down! The way your thighs spread out on that chair. For the first time in his life, Katsuki found himself wanting to switch places with a goddamn chair…. He asked you out that same night and the two of you have been together ever since.
One night you stayed at his house and you’d forgotten to bring clothes to change into.
This man had the nerve to tell you to just throw on one of his shirts. Instead of correcting him and telling him to be so fucking fr, you went and grabbed one in of his tshirt and slid it on.
The damn thing looked like a crop top. You walked out to show him was a joke it was and the way this man laughed in your face almost made you end his life.
“You look like fucking Winnie the Pooh.” He was wheezing.
“Are you fucking done jackass?” You say as you pull the shirt over your head and drop it to the floor.
Once his giggling subsided he said “you could’ve just said they wouldn’t fit. I’ll buy some larger ones to keep here.” And he’s wiping tears from his eyes.
While you were walking around to your side of the bed he said “you look better naked anyways… hell maybe I won’t buy the shirts”
“Maybe I won’t ever sleep with a guy that get his jollies off to making fun of me” you grate out as you climb into the bed facing away from him.
His voice is right above your ear when he speaks again, “did I hurt your feelings princess?? Let me kiss it better”
He also did this thing where he’d run his fingers up and down the stretch marks on your side and stomach all the time.
When you ask him about it one day, all he says is that “it helps calm his nerves.” Whatever that means.
And don’t get started on when he fucks you. Hitting it from behind, he hands are planted on your wide hips and his favorite thing about this position is watching how your ass jiggles when he pulls you back on to him.
He also loves your soft saggy titas. Will lift those things and suck them right into his mouth happily.
Going back to that ass of yours, there’s so much surface area for him to slap and leave hand marks on. He’ll have the whole surface area stinging by the time he gets done.
Your thighs are another thing entirely.
He was nervous one night while you two were getting hot and heavy in bed. You could tell.
“Kats, baby, what’s wrong?”
“Nothin” and he tried to bend down and kiss you again but you stopped him.
“Talk to me or we stop.”
“You’re gonna think I’m fuckin weird. Hell I think I’m fucking weird.” He says.
You wait for him to continue.
“Iwannafuckyourthighs” it rushed out of him in one word.
“What? Slow down”
“ I. Want. To. *whispers* fuck your thighs.”
You let out and a chuckle and obviously that was the wrong thing to do because says something unintelligible and starts pulling away.
You rush and wrap your legs around his before he can get up.
“Don’t leave. I’m only laughing because we’ve done some pretty dirty stuff together, and this is what you get nervous about.”
He rolls his eyes, “well what’s your answer?” He grunts at you.
You pull him down to your and whisper against his ear. “Katsuki please fuck my thighs.. I want them all wet and sticky with your cum.”
And you feel the shivers that runs down his spine.
Katsuki loves every inch of you, he has zero complaints. He’s constantly touching you and showing you how perfect he thinks you are

User hamatoanne's fic plagiarism
Hello, I’m the author of The Android, an AO3 Robot OC x Reader fic that was plagiarized by hamatoanne on Tumblr in her Aemond x Reader story, System Error. You can read my AO3 post for more info about the issue. As you can tell by the timestamps on AO3 and the screenshots of her now-deleted story, mine was posted months before hers. I didn’t want to make this public, but it appears Anne has not learned her lesson and is grasping at straws to keep her readers in the dark. She’s been deleting her stories to hide evidence of her plagiarism. I think you deserve to know who your beloved writer gets her words from.
I don’t know this fandom, but I’ve heard you guys can get pretty crazy. Control yourselves. The only one who needs to take responsibility is Anne. Don’t send hate to her mutuals. Don’t send hate to her followers. Don’t stalk or harass or dox anyone. Read through this post and form your opinion.
Tumblr media
First bunch of screenshots: A side-by-side comparison of her story (now deleted) and mine (still up and linked above). I took screenshots in advance in case something like this happened so I’d have proof if I needed it. I decided to compare the first chapter of my fic with the first part of hers. I could do the whole thing, but I’m a busy college student and I think just a quick skim of the pictures below is enough for people to see the extent of her plagiarism.
I have screenshots of her entire post, but I don’t want to make this too long to scroll through and Tumblr posts cap at 30 pictures. I’m assuming some of you have already read her story multiple times, so you’re familiar with the words. If you haven’t, then I should warn you that the fic that she plagiarized is very not SFW. I’ll let you know where the not SFW content starts so you can skip it.
On the left is my story. On the right is what Anne posted (and took down).

Finally, I DM’ed her. This was just before I posted to The Android on AO3 about the situation. To summarize, I wrote about how I would go about the situation and how hurt I was about a bigger creator stealing from me. I admit, I was too kind and too much of a pushover. I just wanted things to go quietly. She later replied with this and deleted her fic immediately.
Tumblr media
“I was completely stupid for not giving your credit” Why do they always play dumb? You copy that much and can’t even think to put my name there? You credit the artist but not the person who basically wrote your whole story? The story that gave you over 3k notes, so much more clout than any of your other stories has earned you? Total BS.
“I had every intention of giving credit where it was due…But I forgot” Right. Sure. Of course. If she felt guilty about plagiarizing, she would not be so shameless to accept praise like she did. I have examples of where she happily thanked people for complimenting "her work”, but didn’t want to bring other blogs into this, especially since they were none the wiser to her plagiarism. Ironically enough, someone even gifted her a badge for being a good writer the day she replied to my DM. She tagged that post “#a breath of fresh air on a horrible day”. I wonder why her day was horrible. Whoever gifted her that badge deserves their money back.
My thoughts when approaching her DMs were:
If she wants to keep up the story? Fine, just edit the post to say that it was heavily influenced by my story and leave a link to the original. I don’t mind. The readers will see that, click my story, compare the two, and think, “Hey, that’s not just inspiration! She plagiarized!” and her downfall would start from there without me having to do anything.
If she ignored me and didn’t fulfill that request, i would take matters into my own hands and expose her on her own post. Even more damaging.
In the end, she chose to delete the post entirely, getting rid of the evidence and her clout. I actually didn’t expect this outcome since I thought she’d like the clout too much, but I guess she decided this route would be the least damaging to her reputation. Everything was swept under the rug for now.
And like a fool, I said thanks and went on with my life. But I decided to keep track of her. Because while I was too cowardly to do anything, I knew there would always be someone in the crowd who would take action. And it seems like people did.
After reading the supportive comments from readers of my fic, I started to regret how lightly I handled it. I wanted to be mature even though I wanted her entire blog to fall and her reputation taken away. But I didn’t want to be a “bad person”. I wondered if I should keep pursuing the issue. I realized that my overly-people-pleasing behavior might lead her to continue her ways. I decided to speak out because others might’ve had their works taken by her and that my silence wasn’t helping.
Next is her post, now deleted (I wonder why), about how she’s been so sad and how she’s going to be deleting her old stories and starting over. I’m likely not the only one she’s plagiarized from if she’s deleting other stories. At the time, I only saw supportive replies and reblogs on it, but maybe she deleted it after people started calling her out? Idk.
Tumblr media
She’s playing the victim game pretty hard. Acting as a kind underdog even though she’s the big creator who stole from a nobody like me. I know I said on my AO3 update that people shouldn’t send hate to her (and even censored her name after she deleted her story) but I guess I’m a little happy that people sought to call her out on her shit. I wish I was as brave.
Later, a nice person (we’ll call her Bob because she asked to remain anonymous) DM’ed me directly with a kind message. After seeing this, I decided I should take action and expose all of this since Anne obviously hasn’t learned and wants to keep it all hidden. Bob confirmed that I’m not the only victim of Anne’s plagiarism either.
Bob asked that I not use screenshots of our DM’s so here is a transcription of the important parts:
“Hey! I just found out that one of your fics had been plagiarized by someone in the HOTD community. First of all, I am tremendously sorry that happened…”
(For Bob’s privacy, I won’t explain her relation to Anne. Just know that Anne has refused to message her back).
“I definitely think you should make a blog post. with side by side comparison. I am still completely gobsmacked that she pilfered your entire story word for word and changed a few things. We found evidence that she had plagiarized multiple stories. Not just yours. We found out her mermaid!aemond fic was entirely stolen as well as a few others. She has quietly deleted them and hasn't spoken on them since.”
“We surmised that she takes ‘underrated’ fics from different fandoms and changes the name and that's it. It's almost like she believed that stealing from other fandoms was going to draw less attention than stealing directly from the HOTD fandom.”
So if you noticed that one of your favorite Aemond fics is gone, now you know why.
‘But benny, she still wrote her own sentences and just changed it around to fit aemond!’
Fanfiction is transformative. You know what the source material is and who created it. You know you’re not reading a copied and pasted text with maybe some words and sentences switched around. This wasn’t fanfic. According to Google, plagiarism is defined as, “the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.” (See what I did there? I credited Google. Is it so hard to give credit where credit is due?) She copied people's work, didn't give credit to the source material, and claimed it as her own. That's plagiarism.
I wouldn’t have had a problem if she properly credited me and linked the original story. I wouldn’t have had a problem if she didn’t blatantly copy and paste the entire text and premise. I wouldn’t even require getting permission to write a story based on my fic if she had satisfied those conditions.
She’s a 27-year-old grown-ass woman with enough free time to simp over some blond guy with an eyepatch. I’m a 21-year-old college student who only posts fics during the summer and winter because that’s when school’s on break. I’m too busy writing lab reports and essays to be an active writer online. The fact that she can disrespect smaller writers so tremendously should not be acceptable. The fact that she also deceived her devoted readers and friends about her "works" is also unacceptable.
What can you do about this? To be honest, I don’t know what to do. I’ve never had to deal with this before. I want to be a good person and say, “Don’t send any hate to Anne, don’t harass her. Just unfollow her and stop supporting her.” But that obviously hasn’t taught her anything. She’ll just make a half-assed apology, maybe go on hiatus, maybe disappear, and then pop up again under another name to steal from another creator. If you have any ideas on how to deal with this, please tell us.
She can try to block me or delete her posts, but the evidence is out and the damage is done. Anything she does to hide this mess will only make it worse for her. I’d appreciate people bringing more awareness to this issue, especially if it can reach the eyes of others she’s taken from.
Thanks for reading.

A week and a half later, you were moving into Jake’s apartment officially. The two of you, with some help from Phoenix and Coyote, had already moved all of the smaller items out of your apartment. Bradley and Mav also stopped by—when Jake wasn’t there—to take some of the more sentimental items to hold onto for you in their bigger homes.
So, all that was left were a few pieces of furniture. You sold some of your furniture but decided to either keep or store or give away the other pieces. And that meant that someone had to drag it down the stairs and shove it into the back of Jake’s truck or the trailer that Maverick brought.
“Don’t even think about it,” Jake stated, watching as you rearranged the chairs around the table.
“What?”
“You’re not carrying anything. It’s all heavy and we’re not risking you hurting yourself,” Jake insisted, walking over to you. “Just relax.”
“I think I can drag a chair a few inches,” you stated, shooting Jake a playful look. “But I won’t carry anything heavy. Promise.”
“Thank you,” Jake replied softly. “How’re they today?”
“I think I’m feeling flutters, but I don’t really know. I only seem to feel them when I’m trying to sleep, so I don’t know if I’m imaging them.”
Your twenty-week appointment was about a week away and both of you were a bit anxious about it. Of course, every first-time parent worried about the worst case-scenario at that appointment. That they were going to get some kind of news that would change the little fairytale that they built up in their mind.
“Only when you’re trying to sleep?”
“Yeah, I think so. Why?”
“It’s like they’re teasing you. Or trying to stress you out more.”
“They’re stubborn, that’s all.”
“They get it from both sides,” Jake replied, brushing his fingers down your bump.
“Hopefully, they’re not too stubborn coming out,” you stated, glancing down at your bump as Jake took a step closer to you. Smiling up at him, you let out a chuckle. “What?”
“I’m just thinking about all the gas I’ll save when I don’t have to drive over here anymore," he explained, causing you to raise an eyebrow.
“The gas, of course,” you hummed.
You let out a louder giggle as Jake leaned in and pressed a kiss to your cheek and then down your neck. The two of you, since your kiss in the kitchen, had gotten a lot more comfortable and handsy with each other over the next few days. You hadn’t taken it all the way yet, both of you were still cautious about pushing too hard too fast, but you seemed to be moving in that direction. It was starting to remind you of how the two of you were before you found out that you were pregnant.
Jake pressed a lingering kiss to your lips as his strong arms pulled you closer. And as you tangled your hand in his hair, returning the kiss, you heard the door to your apartment open. You turned your head and reflexively pushed Jake off of you when you saw Maverick standing there.
“Hey, Mav,” you greeted awkwardly, running a hand through your hair. “Thanks for coming.”
“Of course. Though you looked as if you weren’t expecting company,” Maverick quipped, working on his key ring.
“I can explain,” Jake stated, causing Maverick to shake his head.
“You already got her pregnant, Jake. There’s not much left to explain beyond that.”
“Mav,” you sighed, feeling like a teenager again.
“Trailer’s parked out front. I didn’t know how you wanted to divide things up. Penny said that she would bring lunch over to your new apartment. And Bradley told me that he was leaving a couple minutes ago.”
“Great,” Jake replied dryly.
“There's not too much left at least,” you stated, trying to perk Jake up. “But I have to give the key back to my landlord, Mav.”
Maverick pulled your spare key off of his chain and handed it over to you before turning to Jake. The two of them started to carry stuff downstairs to the trailer or Jake’s truck while you started to sweep up and do your final round of cleaning so that your landlord didn’t charge you extra.
Jake and Maverick were out by the trailer, sliding your dresser into the back when Rooster walked over with his keys in hand. Leaning on the trailer wall, Rooster and Jake shared a glare before Bradley turned to Maverick.
“Emma’s going to meet us there with Penny. I’ll text her when we’re finished up here.”
“We’ve still got a few trips left before that,” Maverick reported, walking over to Bradley. “We’re going to do the couch next.”
Bradley nodded and turned to head inside with Mav, leaving Jake to walk by himself. Jake wasn’t too perturbed. He was expecting the treatment from Bradley and the fact that Maverick hadn’t pushed him down the stairs after seeing the two of you together felt like a small victory.
You were wiping down the counters when they returned to your apartment. You moved to greet your brother before the three of them walked over to your couch. You stood a bit nervously by the door, holding it open for them.
“Please don’t hurt yourselves,” you told them as they started to carry it out.
“We’ll be fine,” Jake assured you as he passed by.
You watched them go before shutting the door. Moving over to the window, you sat down and watched for them. It was only three floors, but you knew that you wouldn’t be able to focus until the three of them emerged together. You weren’t so worried that the couch would be too heavy or anything like that. You were more concerned that they would use it to hurt each other.
Jake and Bradley carried the ends of the couch while Maverick stood in the middle. Bradley stood on the lower set of stairs, simply because Jake wasn’t stupid and refused to step down first. Otherwise, he wasn’t confident that he would make it down to the bottom of the stairs. Not without a crack in the back of his head. Again, he wasn’t stupid.
“Lift it up more,” Bradley grunted as they tried to turn one of the last corners.
“I am,” Jake huffed back at him.
“I wouldn’t have asked if you just did it,” Bradley snapped at Jake.
“Just lift, both of you,” Maverick stated firmly, shooting them both a look.
They managed to walk around the corner with the couch and down the last set of stairs before setting the couch down on the floor to catch their breath and relieve their muscles. Bradley leaned on the couch, glaring over at Jake as Jake stretched his arms casually. Maverick was silent, but he was clearly watching them.
“So, why are we moving my sister into your tiny apartment again, Hangman?”
“Her lease is up and we’re having a baby together,” Hangman stated, like Rooster was as dumb as a brick.
“And you couldn’t even get an apartment with enough room for a crib in it?”
“Bradley,” Maverick stated, shooting him a look.
“There’s enough room for a crib,” Jake snapped back at Bradley. “We already mapped it out. We wrote down the exact dimensions that we need. And even if we didn’t, it’s none of your fucking business, Rooster.”
“Jake,” Maverick sighed, turning to the annoyed aviator.
“It is my business when it involves my sister and my niece or nephew.” Bradley straightened up, staring Jake down. “She told me that you were looking at houses, but yet she said that she hasn’t been to any house showings. Why is that?”
“None of your fucking business, Rooster.”
“It’s not? Because it sounds like you’re selling a fantasy to my sister that you’re never actually going to deliver.”
“That’s enough,” Maverick replied to both of them.
“You would want your sister to just move into the first house that we found and could close on?” Jake stated, staring Bradley down. “We’re looking. But there’s other things that are more pressing that we have to deal with. But again, it’s none of your fucking business.”
“And does she know that? Have you told her that?”
“Alright, pick up your ends, let’s get it put into the trailer,” Maverick snapped, effectively ending the argument.
You watched from above as Jake, Bradley, and Maverick walked out to the trailer with the couch. Letting out a breath of relief, you got up and turned to clean once again. There was just the tables, chairs, and another small dresser left, which Jake, Bradley, and Maverick carried down in three more trips.
When it was all cleaned up, you took a moment to walk through the empty rooms, reminiscing about the memories that the place brought you. It was a sanctuary for you for a time. An escape, really. But it was an apartment for a version of you that was quickly disappearing and in a few short months would be gone completely.
You had grown out of it. And it was time to move on.
“You alright?” Jake asked softly, standing at the threshold of the apartment.
“Yeah,” you replied, turning to him with a small smile. “I’m okay.”
Picking up the keys, you walked over to Jake, pressed a kiss to his lips, and headed out. And into the new phase of your life.
~~~~~
You and Jake arrived at your shared apartment first, since Maverick and Bradley were dropping off some stuff at their respective houses first. Penny was waiting for you in the parking lot and Jake assured you that he would be fine carrying everything himself.
“So, how’d moving out go?” Penny asked you as you walked up the stairs. Your now shared apartment was on the third floor, so it was one less set of stairs than your previous apartment. “Pete gave me a brief overview.”
“He probably knows better than me. He was the one who was dealing with them,” you sighed, pulling out your new set of keys. “I just want them to be able to coexist. They don’t have to like each other. Hell, they don’t even need to speak to each other. I just need them to be able to sit in the same room and not try to kill each other.”
“They’re both stubborn and set in their ways,” Penny replied, shaking her head. “Have you talked to Emma about Bradley?”
“Yeah, but there’s only so much she can do. Ever since Mom died, he’s always felt the need to be so protective over me. And I appreciated it sometimes but now I don’t need it now. I just want him to be happy for me. For us, me and Jake.”
“He will. Maybe he just needs to see Jake supporting you—not that he isn’t already—for that to start to happen.”
“He better get over it by the time I have this baby or I swear,” you muttered, moving to unlock your front door. You turned to Penny with less annoyance in your features. “You know, I really want to make Bradley and Emma the baby’s godparents. And the baby’s guardians if something were to happen to the both of us and—”
“—Don’t talk like that,” Penny interrupted you, grabbing your shoulders.
“Penny,” you sighed as the door shut behind her, “I’m not living in some delusion where I don’t think that bad things can happen. And I want it all written down and signed and everything before I give birth or just in case Jake gets dragged away.” Placing a hand on your bump, you looked down. “I want to be prepared.”
“Hey, today is a happy occasion. You can focus on that stuff at another time. Right now, just enjoy the fact that everyone is healthy and that you’re moving forward in your relationship with Jake, okay?” You nodded slowly and Penny pulled you in for a tight motherly hug. “And that’s why I got you a gift.”
“You didn’t have to get me anything, Penny.”
“I know, but I saw it and just thought of you,” Penny replied, pulling away and reaching into the bag that she brought.
“And you definitely didn’t need to wrap it,” you mused, taking the box from her hand.
Gently tearing at the wrapping paper, you glanced up when the door opened and Jake walked in, carrying your nightstand and dragging a suitcase behind him. You shot him a smile as he glanced curiously down at the gift in your hands.
“What’s that?”
“Just a small gift,” Penny insisted, smiling kindly.
You tore away the rest of the wrapping paper and pulled out a rectangular plaque. You were a bit confused when you noted the three raised squares, but when you read the painted letters above them, it all clicked.
The message of ‘Daddy’ + ‘Mommy’ = ‘Baby’ was so simple, yet so emotionally overwhelming.
“You’re supposed to put your handprints here,” Penny explained, pointing at the squares. “Jake can put his handprint here and then you can put yours there and then when your baby comes, you can put their handprint there. They recommended red and white for your hands if it’s a girl, so that her handprint is pink. Or white and a darker blue if it’s a boy, so that his handprint would be a baby blue. And you can paint the baby’s name below the square too, right there.”
“I love it,” you croaked out, emotions quickly bursting to the surface. “Thank you, Penny. I love it, I love it so much.”
You pulled Penny back in for a tight hug, tears starting to stream down your cheeks. Jake looked on, concerned, but Penny gave him a reassuring smile and mouthed that it was alright. And when Jake continued to look concerned, Penny whispered ‘hormones’ to him. Jake nodded slowly and gently took the plaque from your hands.
“I don’t even know why I’m crying,” you breathed out, wiping them away hastily. “It just hit me all of a sudden.”
“It’s been a long day. You’re making big steps. It’s a lot to take in all at once.”
“Yeah,” you breathed out, trying to get a reign on your emotions again. Turning back to Jake, who was still staring at you with a measure of concern. “Where do you think we should put it up, once it’s complete?”
“Somewhere everyone can see it,” Jake suggested, causing you to smile and nod in agreement.
~~~~~
Since most of your stuff was already at Jake’s apartment, it didn’t take too much longer to fully make it your shared space. And you already made space in the living room for baby stuff. It was still early, you knew, but the alternative was researching about what horrible things you could find out at your twenty-week appointment, so you kept on decorating.
But today was the day, so you supposed that you couldn’t push it off anymore.
Waiting a bit anxiously in your car, you let out a breath when you spotted Jake’s truck pull into the lot. You grabbed your purse and slipped out of your car, walking over to where Jake parked. He got out of his truck, dressed in his day uniform, and quickly moved to your side. Pulling you in for a gentle hug, he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“Are you alright?” he asked you, causing you to nod against his chest. “Everything’s going to be fine. Whatever we find out, it’s going to be fine, okay?”
Jake locked up his truck before the two of you headed inside the office. You checked in and sat down, filling out some paperwork while Jake rested his arm behind your back. And when your name was called, the two of you silently walked back to the exam room. Laying back on the exam table, you stared at the ceiling as Jake rubbed the back of your hand with his thumb.
A knock at the door made you sit up and move to the edge of the examination table. Your obstetrician walked inside the room with a kind smile. It started off as any regular doctor’s appointment would. You went over your symptoms, your pains, your bloodwork, and everything else before moving onto the ultrasound.
You immediately reached for Jake as the wand touched your belly and he gave your hand a reassuring squeeze. She moved it around, typing away at her computer, taking a few images and measurements, before turning to you with a reassuring smile.
“Your baby’s growing normally and as they should. Everything is measuring normal. They’re a little smaller than average, but nothing to be concerned about. They’re still a perfectly healthy and normal size.” She typed something else before turning back to you and Jake. “Do you still want to wait to know the baby’s sex?”
“Yes, please,” you answered quickly.
“Alright, well, I’m just going to turn the screen briefly,” your obstetrician replied, hiding the information from you and Jake.
“You can tell?” you asked quietly.
“Yes, but all the files are marked to keep that information completely private. Unless you change your mind, of course.”
You nodded and shared a look with Jake, who pressed a kiss to the back of your hand. Your obstetrician typed away again before moving the screen back to your view. And as she continued to tell you that everything was normal and healthy, you sunk in and started to relax and enjoy the moment.
“Your baby seems to be a bit stubborn,” your obstetrician noted, trying to move the wand around your belly again to take some more measurements. “They start to cooperate and then seem to decide not to about three seconds later.”
“That’s not shocking,” you mused, watching the movement of your child on the screen. “Stubbornness is probably genetic for them.”
After a few more pictures, your belly was wiped off and you sat up once again. Your obstetrician smiled kindly as she sat down on her stool in front of you. Jake sat beside you, more relaxed than when he walked in, but still alert, as your obstetrician turned to you.
“Alright, there’s just a few more screening questions and then we’re all set.”
“Of course,” you agreed, nodding slowly.
“Mr. Seresin,” your obstetrician stated, causing Jake to turn to her. “Did you want to go and grab the ultrasound photos? A tech can bring you back there. And you can ask them any questions of your own about the process.”
Jake hesitated for a moment but agreed and got up from his seat. You squeezed his hand in goodbye before he exited the room with one of the techs. Your obstetrician waited until he was gone before turning to you.
“At the twenty week appointment, we usually perform a screening of your mental health.” After you nodded, she began. “Have you ever had a history of mental illness? Anxiety? Depression? Eating disorders? Anything like that?”
“Yes,” you answered softly. “Depression and anxiety.”
“When?” she asked, poised to type down the information.
“My mother passed away when I was twelve. And after that, I was diagnosed with depression and put in talk therapy for a time. But I stopped that when I was eighteen. And they put me on anti-anxiety medication when I was sixteen.”
“Are you still on that medication?”
“No, I stopped it about a year afterwards. I was just going through a lot at the time and talk therapy wasn’t working completely. It was just to get me through that time and then I didn’t need it anymore.”
“Have you had any flare ups since then?”
“A few times,” you answered honestly.
“You didn’t go back to talk therapy or medication or anything?”
“No, I just . . . waited for it to get better, I suppose. Probably wasn't the best decision, but I survived.”
“Can I ask why you didn’t return to therapy or medication?”
“Honestly, the only reason I went to therapy or went on medication when I was a teenager was because I had people in my family push me in that direction. But when I was an adult, I just . . . I wanted to just handle it quietly.”
“Well, please document if you feel any depression or anxiety during your pregnancy and your postpartum period. It’s an overwhelming time for anyone and there’s no shame in asking for help of any kind.” Your obstetrician paused before asking softly, “Do you trust your partner to help you if you feel depressed or anxious?”
“Yeah,” you answered honestly, nodding along.
“And are you two living together?”
“Yes, we are.”
“And you feel safe in that living situation? Do you feel safe and confident about bringing your baby into that environment?”
“Yes, completely.”
“Alright, well, please just document if you feel anxious or depressed.” She stood up and grabbed a pamphlet and handed it to you. “You can always call our office or there’s a helpline that you can call at any time. And there’s no shame in any of it.”
“Thank you,” you replied, thumbing through the pamphlet.
~~~~~
That night, you and Jake laid in bed, looking at the photos from your ultrasound together. You were curled up on his chest, resting most of your weight on him as Jake wrapped his arm around your waist, cupping your continuously growing bump with his hand.
“Were you a small baby?” you asked Jake softly, staring at the ultrasound picture of your baby.
“What?” he questioned, turning to you with some confusion.
“Were you a small baby when you were born?” you repeated for him. “She said that the baby was smaller than average.”
“I never asked,” Jake replied, a bit elusively.
“I was normal weight, according to my mom,” you stated, still staring at the photo. “Bradley was a large baby with a big fat head, but I was normal weight and size. Mav said that after I was born, my mom told my dad that she wished that I was born first. It would have been an easier delivery, she told him.”
“You think that they’ll stay smaller?”
“I hope so,” you mused with a smile. “I’d prefer a six pound baby to a ten pound baby, thank you very much.” You turned to Jake with a soft look in your eye, resting your head on his shoulder. “Your mom never complained to you about how big your head was or how you were overactive in her belly or anything like that?”
“No,” Jake replied shortly.
Your smile slipped a bit and you turned back to the ultrasound photo. Jake rubbed his hand slowly up and down your bump, soothing you in one way but making another part of you wander from his side.
“Can I take this one?” Jake asked, causing you to turn back to him.
“What?”
“Can I take this one with me?” Jake asked you again, pointing at one photo from the roll. “I was thinking about putting a photo from the ultrasound in my cockpit. If that’s alright with you.”
“Yeah, of course,” you agreed, nodding to him and offering him a smile. “I think that’s sweet.”
Jake nodded in return and pressed a kiss to your forehead. The two of you turned in for the night shortly afterwards. Rolling onto your side, you rested your head on your hand, staring out at the window. Jake gave your bump one last loving squeeze before moving away to fall asleep. And although you were exhausted and needed sleep, your mind kept you awake.
Staring at the window again, you paused when you felt that little flutter again. You smiled to yourself and glanced down at your bump.
“Right as I’m trying to go to sleep? Again?” you teased quietly.
Hiii I’ve been checking your blog and I love it, can I request secret relationship with Hotch? Like, Jack reveals your secret by accident by calling reader mom or smthn like that ❤️❤️❤️
a/n: I LOVE this.
Word Count: 2k
Warnings/notes: sickness (but like fever, not actually being sick), Derek Morgan being a little shit, not proofread
<3: aaron hotchner x reader
When you’d woken up that morning to Jack coughing and sneezing his little heart out, you’d known what kind of day it was going to be.
Seeing his condition, it was obvious that he shouldn’t be going to school, and once Aaron had woken up, too, he’d agreed. However, there was work to be done in the office for both of you, and you didn’t want to risk getting Jessica’s children sick, too. The only option was to bring Jack into the office. He could sleep on Aaron’s couch for the day, and then go home to bed straight after. It wasn’t perfect, but it would have to do.
As usual, you and Aaron took separate cars to work, you parked nowhere near each other, and Aaron always waited at least five minutes after you’d exited your car to leave his. All countermeasures to keep the keen eyes of your coworkers away from the two of you and your well-hidden relationship.
It hadn’t been going on for long - just under a year - but things had moved quickly, and you basically lived with Aaron and Jack, only going back to your apartment occasionally when you and Aaron decided it would be best for him and Jack to be alone. You loved the both of them from wherever you were, staying with them was just a way to love them a little bit closer.
And, boy, was there love. Much to your surprise, Jack had called you ‘mom’ the other day by accident, which led to you going back to your apartment while he and Aaron had a conversation about Haley. You felt flattered that he’d felt so safe and loved around you that the name had been given to you, and Aaron assured you that he wasn’t upset about it.
When you’d gotten back, Jack had hugged you tightly around your neck and whispered: “My mommy is watching over me, and you do that, too. So you’re also my mom. Dad said that I could call you that if I wanted to.”
“Yeah? You want to, buddy?” You’d asked, fighting back your tears.
“Yeah! D’you want to come play?” He brushed off the issue as if it were nothing, pulling away from you and grabbing your hand instead, leading you into the living room where his toys were.
That lively boy had been replaced now by a quiet, sick one, and you tried not to be distracted by the sounds of him coughing in Aaron’s office. You had paperwork to do. You were supposed to be working. Jack had his father, and Penelope, who seemed to be making more trips to the water cooler today than she ever had before.
“God, it’s awful, isn’t it?” JJ’s words made you turn your attention to her from where you’d been staring at the door of Aaron’s office.
“Sorry?”
“Hearing children in pain. It never gets better. It’s actually worse once you have a child,” She shook her head, “I wish there was something I could do.”
“Yeah,” You said on an exhale, shuffling some of your papers to give your hands a task, “I might go and see if they need anything, actually.”
“I doubt it. Hotch probably has everything Jack could need right in there,” JJ patted your shoulder as she continued her walk past your desk, “You don’t want to risk catching whatever he has.”
You nodded, swallowing as you looked down at your computer. You had to focus. If you went in there, all of the secrecy that you and Aaron had worked for would be put under a microscope. If Jack found comfort in you, like you knew he would, if Aaron let you stay with him in his office when he’d kicked everyone else out within a couple of minutes, every separate car journey to work would be rendered useless.
Profilers were a nuisance. They saw everything, every minute shift in behaviour. They would definitely notice the signs of a relationship between you and your boss.
“You okay, pretty girl?” Morgan asked as he came up behind you, placing his hands on your tense shoulders, “You’ve been staring at your computer screen for a while.”
“Yeah. Yeah, I’m just distracted.”
He didn’t seem to buy it. Or, rather, he did, he just knew that there was a deeper reason as to why you were distracted that you weren’t mentioning. His fingers pushed into your shoulders as if he were trying to knead the secrets out of you.
“Oh, I get it,” He mumbled next to your ear and your heart rate began to pick up, “Someone’s got a new boyfriend.”
“What?” You squeaked, turning in your chair and forcing Morgan’s hands from you, “What are you talking about?”
“You’re checking your phone a lot, you’re distracted, you’re happier recently; all signs point to good sex.”
“Derek! This is a work environment.”
“You’re not denying it,” He grinned, leaning on his own desk that was right behind yours, “So you do have a guy.”
“No! No.” You squirmed under his knowing gaze, dropping your shoulders as you let out a sigh, “Okay, yes. Yes, I do. Now, will you leave me alone to do my work?”
He cheered loudly in success, but your worried glance around the space forced him to quieten down, and after he didn’t make any other noises for a few seconds, the eyes in the office that had been drawn to the two of you quickly left again.
“Just…” You turned back to your computer, “Don’t mention anything to anyone, okay?”
“Only if you answer one question: was I right? Is the sex good?”
You imagined what Derek’s reaction might be if he realised he was talking about his boss, the thought almost put a smile on your face. Instead, you glared at him over your shoulder, and he raised a challenging eyebrow at you.
“Hey, baby girl-” He shouted across the office while holding eye contact with you.
“No! Okay fine,” You leaned closer to him, speaking in a hushed whisper, “The answer to your question is yes.”
His shit-eating grin only grew wider at your answer, and when Penelope approached the two of you, Derek made an excuse of asking her out to lunch, and the two of them left the office together. You could finally relax.
Until the sound of Jack’s coughing punctured through the air again.
As much as Derek annoyed you (much like an older sibling), he was brilliant at distracting you from everything going on in your life. And even though you were sure that he was telling Penelope your secret at that very moment, you couldn’t help but be a little bit grateful that you’d managed to tear your mind away from the child in Aaron’s office.
It was scary to think about what could happen if the people in your office found out about you and Aaron. As a woman, it was undoubted that you would get at least one comment about sleeping your way to the top, and even though HR knew about your relationship in order to keep professionalism, you couldn’t imagine the kinds of issues that might arise with other agents if they all knew about your relationship. People could be made uncomfortable, or accuse Aaron of preferential treatment; your jobs could be on the line.
But, then again, it would relieve a huge weight off your shoulders. You wouldn’t have to worry about taking separate cars, waiting in the parking lot, or having to stay away from the person who brought you the most comfort when you were really in need of a hug.
No. No, you couldn’t be public about your relationship until either one of you didn’t work at the BAU anymore, which you were sure wouldn’t be happening any time soon.
The door to Aaron’s office opened, and Jack appeared, holding Aaron’s hand and a blanket that he hadn’t let go of since he’d left the house. You tried to seem unfazed, glueing your eyes to your paperwork, but your heart beamed out of your chest when Jack pulled Aaron to a stop right beside your desk.
“Hey, you feeling okay, buddy?” You asked, keeping your voice gentle. The burn of about a dozen pairs of eyes suddenly became apparent.
Which was why, when Jack held his arms up to be brought up into your lap, loudly exclaiming ‘Mommy!’ as you hesitantly pulled him up, you knew there was no way you could hide. Even if he hadn’t said anything, the way he melted into you, wrapping his arms around you and burying his face in your neck, was probably a dead giveaway.
“Oh, sweetheart,” You cooed as you rubbed his back, looking up at Aaron, who was shielding you somewhat with his body as he leaned against your desk, watching you with a hint of a smile, “It’s okay, baby. You’ll feel all better soon, I promise.”
“How soon is soon?” Jack groaned into your skin, and you kissed his hot cheek.
“Really, really soon, buddy, okay?”
You continued rubbing his back as the people around you pretended to continue on with their tasks. Aaron rolled Derek’s desk chair from behind his desk and pulled it up next to you and Jack, lips stretching into a thin line.
“He was upset, asking for you. I thought I’d rather he be happy than us protect ourselves,” He explained in a low voice, “I probably should have asked.”
“It’s alright,” You assured him, “I’m glad you brought him out, it’s been killing me all day. What are we going to tell everyone?”
“I’ll tell them to mind their own business,” He placed a hand on your knee, away from the view of everyone else, “We did everything right, telling HR but keeping it a secret from the team. It can be a sort of… relief that we don’t have to sneak around anymore.”
“Yeah, you’re right. We should get him back to your office,” Jack had fallen asleep against you, so you stood up carefully, keeping his head still with one hand cradling it, “Morgan will be back soon, and we should probably figure out a strategy to best tell him-”
“Oh!” Came a shout across the office as you and Aaron were halfway up the stairs. You squeezed your eyes shut, not believing in your bad luck, and Aaron turned around to look at Morgan, “Hotch is the secret boyfriend?”
“Watch your volume, Morgan,” Aaron warned, “As much as it may not seem like it, you’re still at work.” The ‘And don’t you dare wake up my son’ was implied, but Jack did nothing more than wiggle around in your arms at the loud noises.
“Oh, man,” Derek grinned as you and Aaron continued to walk up the stairs to his office, “I know something about you, Hotch.”
His taunts were blocked out by Aaron opening his office door for you and closing it behind himself, twisting the lock and pulling the blinds as you set Jack down on his sofa and tucked his blanket around him.
“What is he talking about?” Aaron asked once you’d stood up, hands coming to rest on your waist in a way they never had while you two were at work.
You relished in his touch, morphing it into a hug as you wound your arms over his shoulders. At home, he was always touching you, always somewhere close, but it was different - new - in his office, where the only things exchanged between the two of you were longing looks and papers.
“Nothing you need to worry about.”
Seo Changbin. Every time you get an email from me, you feel your blood boil. What a conceited, terrible human being. You have to work together, but it doesn't mean you have to like him. In fact, you only feel hate towards him. So what if you have no idea what he looks like, so what if you have never met him? Nothing could change your mind about him. Right?
• author’s note: Just a silly little one shot to take our mind off things. I wrote this completely for fun so I hope you can have fun reading it as well! Thank you for being here, sending lots of love your way. ♡
Tumblr media
You stare at your computer screen, hoping that if you do it long and hard enough, it will magically conjure up the word you’re looking for. It starts with a g, that much you’re sure of, and it’s an adverb. It’s not gradually. It’s not gaudily. You have right there, on the tip of your tongue, but frustratingly out of reach.
You close your eyes and take a deep breath. You’ll find it. You’ll find it.
“Y/N?”
Your eyes flutter open on your coworker, Gahyeon, who gives you an apologetic smile.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” you sigh. “Just can’t find my words today.”
“Hm,” she nods knowingly. “I hate days like that.”
You slide a hand through your hair and sit up in your chair.
“What’s up, Gahyeon?”
“I just wanted your advice on something…”
She circles your desk and puts a document on it, asking about the revision of a tricky sentence, offering you a welcome distraction. You discuss it for a few minutes before she heads back to her desk, long hair flowing down her back. You turn back to your screen, ready to get a good amount of work done before you head to lunch. Your fingers dance on your keyboard for a few minutes when you get an email notification.
Immediately, your blood grows hot and you stop typing. The notification shows you who the email is from: Seo Changbin, from marketing.
You haven’t even opened the email yet but you’re already angry. You know his email will be dripping with his usual passive aggressive tone, blaming you for this and that, asking you to make corrections to something that has already been done and approved. You just know it. The guy is never happy with anything, especially not your work. He’s the only one, though. You work well with your colleagues, and your team manager likes you. You always hand in your work on time. You’re always meticulous. You care about what you do, and you make sure it’s well done.
But this guy.
Not long ago, one of his emails angered you so much you almost punched your computer screen. You almost took the elevator to his floor to let him hear a piece of your mind. Luckily for him you have some self-control - and you know he is still your senior in the company. You don’t want to lose your job over some loser who clearly has nothing better to do with his time than bring you down to raise himself up.
It wasn’t always this way. You’ve worked at this company for years as a translator and never had any major issues with anyone, except for some classic bickering and gossip. Then this guy integrated the marketing department as a star talent and proceeded to make your life a living hell because he, too, spoke several languages and didn’t approve of your phrasing or your choice of words.
It’s not the tone we are aiming for is the sentence you’ve read the most from him. Sometimes you hear it in your nightmares.
You really don’t want to open the email, but you have to. Then you can treat yourself to a good lunch. You had planned on just grabbing something from the cafeteria, but you will definitely head out outside. A brie and spinach panini from the cafe next door, perhaps? Maybe even some sushi.
You inhale slowly and click on your inbox.
The email starts as usual. Dear Y/LN. It also ends as usual. Looking forward to your collaboration. You clench your fists, imagining they land on his nose and break it in a thousand pieces. The guy is polite - too polite. So polite you also want to break his teeth. You can just feel the arrogance oozing from his words.
You read the content of the email and take a deep breath. It’s not too bad today, considering, but it still puts you in a bad mood. There is something I would like to suggest, he writes.
Suggest it to my fist, you arrogant fuck.
You stare at your screen, your face frozen into an expression of disgust. You hate every single word he uses. You hate that he puts his font just a half a point bigger like he has something to compensate for. You hate the little gray icon next to his name at the top that indicates the jerk still hasn’t uploaded his picture like the company requires. Maybe it’s best you don’t know what he looks like, because then your hate would know absolutely no bounds.
You work for a big company. So big it occupies multiple floors of a sky-high building, and you’ve probably only met about 5% of the totality of your coworkers. That does not include the marketing team, except for a few faces you can recall from a Christmas party. That department is a floor above you, right on top of your head even, and the thought makes you rage.
I won’t let you step on me, Seo Changbin. You can burn in hell.
You imagine he’s a sixty-something year old guy with a fancy suit and a big watch, a family he does not know how to show affection for, and probably a mistress although his dick hasn’t worked properly in years. You just know he’s the sort of man to look down on women, to never say thank you to cashiers and to play golf with his buddies on the weekend. Hell, he’s probably a part of a country club of some kind.
You’re probably taking all of this too far but you don’t care.
You need to hate the guy. You want to hate him. It makes it easier.
With a sigh, you quickly reply to him, your tone cold and expeditive as always. You sign with your usual kind regards, words you’ve decided during a lonely night in your apartment after four glasses of wine. Just regards would be too easy, best did not convey your feeling and warm was just gross. Kind - that was perfect. Just the perfect amount of passive aggressiveness that could never be read as just that.
You close your inbox, inhaling slowly. You’re not going to let the guy ruin your day. You are not.
You get some more work done and ask Gahyeon if she wants to grab lunch with you. Minho yells from his desk that he’s coming too, so the three of you set off downstairs.
In the elevator, you complain about the email. Gahyeon shakes her head, although smiling amusingly, and Minho lets out a chuckle as you spit out your murderous intents.
“What are you laughing at?” you pout.
“I was just imagining the day you’ll come face to face with the guy,” he says, eyes gleaming mischievously. “I need to witness this moment.”
“Historical moment,” Gahyeon agrees.
“It would be best for you to be there,” you reply. “I’ll need help getting rid of the body.”
Once you’re sitting down with your platter of sushi not long later, you let out a sigh and plop one in your mouth.
“So, are you guys going to the cocktail party Friday night?” Gahyeon asks you both.
“You mean the thing with free food and booze?” you reply with a chuckle. “Why the hell would I miss it?”
Minho shakes his head. “I can’t that night, I’m cat-sitting for a friend.”
You glance at your friend, but then again, for such a sentence to escape his lips is nothing out of the ordinary.
“You could bring the cat to the cocktail party,” you suggest.
“And what, put the poor thing on a leash?” Minho glares.
You let out a laugh. “No leash. Just let it roam free. Hopefully my archnemesis will be there and the cat will scratch his face off.”
You all laugh over your plates, covering your mouths with your hands so as not to be too loud. It’s a tendency you have - you’ve been warned before about making too much noise in this very restaurant. You love their sushi too much to risk being banned, so you do your best to be discreet.
“Are you going, Gahyeon?” you ask your friend.
She nods. “Probably.”
Minho raises his eyebrows at her. “Hoping Mr Finance Department will be there?”
Gahyeon blushes slightly. “Well…”
You slap your hand on her arm, gasping loudly. “Oh my God, that’s still a thing?! I thought you were over him!”
Minho leans towards you. “It was, but he broke up with Sunglass Girl.”
“He did?!”
“And he got a haircut,” Gahyeon whimpers. “I didn’t think it would be possible but he looks even more fucking hot.”
“I can’t believe you didn’t tell me,” you say.
You put a hand on your friend’s shoulder and look deep inside her hazel eyes.
“Don’t worry, Gahyeon. I’ll be your wingwoman Friday night.”
“That’s okay, Y/N…”
“I promise you to get you close enough to count the beauty marks on his face.”
“He has two.”
“I thought just one,” Minho frowns.
“No, two,” Gahyeon assures him.
“After Friday you can tell us how many he has on his entire body.”
“Y/N!” Gahyeon cries out, hiding her face.
She can’t stop giggling, though, and neither can you - and as Minho starts to make soft kissing sounds, you all burst out laughing.
When you settle at your desk for the afternoon, later that day, you’ve almost forgotten about your work nemesis. Almost.
Tumblr media
Kind regards.
Changbin lets out a scoff, scrunching his nose in front of his screen. Kind regards. He’s not an idiot. He can read between the lines. He knows exactly what that means, and it’s kindly fuck off.
He’s not annoyed by it. Changbin knows better than to let things like that get to him. No, he’s definitely not annoyed.
He just hates your guts.
Before he closes your answer to his email, he catches a glimpse of your picture, right there, next to your name. It’s so small he can barely trace your features, but in a previous moment of weakness he opened the picture so it would be bigger and saw you almost too well.
Wide doe eyes. Full lips. Smiling almost cheekily to the camera, wearing a black turtleneck. Wispy bangs grazing your forehead. Simple gold loop earrings. A faint white scar on the right side of your nose, probably from your childhood.
Yeah. He might have looked at the picture a few times.
It was just to get to know his enemy better, he swore to himself. That way, he had an advantage over you - he knew what you looked like, but you had no idea who he was. You could meet him in the elevator or the cafeteria and you would have no idea - but he would. It happened once. He saw you in the main hall of the building one morning, holding a coffee and wearing headphones. You were bobbing your head to the music, completely oblivious to the rest of the world. He tried really hard not to stare, but it was beyond him - luckily, you didn’t even notice him.
Why would you, anyway? Thousands of people work in the company, hundreds of them wearing plain black suits like he does. Once Changbin understood that, he knew one day it would come to his advantage. He’s just waiting for the right moment. It will come. He just has to be patient - which has never been his strength, but for you, he trusts it will be worth it.
He takes the last bite out of his sandwich - homemade - and leans back on his chair. If only he could deal with someone else, if only you weren’t the translator assigned to his projects 90% of the time. At one point it started to feel like a joke, so much he wondered if someone was doing it on purpose. Your pettiness, your rude tone, it all rubbed off on him in all the wrong ways. He doesn’t do well with games and smugness, so you’re really testing his patience. Getting on his last nerve isn’t even covering it. Passive aggressive emails are starting to not be enough to convey his point. The fact that you’re pretty? It makes it even worse. You’re probably just a princess that thinks everything should be handed to her. He’s going to need to make himself very clear.
He just doesn’t know how.
Of course it’s on his mind all day, and it pisses him off even more that he can’t focus on work because of you. You might be pretty but right now, for Changbin, you’re the devil incarnate and he needs to exorcize you out of his mind. Luckily, he has his gym bag with him so he can head right there after work. Small blessings.
At six o’clock, Changbin stands from his desk, gets his things and heads to the elevator. Many people have already left, which is why he likes to finish his day at six - it’s much quieter in the building and the subway. His briefcase in a hand, his gym bag on his shoulder, he gets in the elevator and sighs. A part of him just wants to get home, and another dreads the silence of his apartment.
The elevator stops on the 11th floor - your floor.
The chances for you to step in the elevator are slim, but present, so Changbin tenses a little, just in case. Good thing he does, because there you appear. Wearing a skirt and knee-high boots, your jacket around your arm, clutching your phone. His heartbeat immediately accelerates, and he has to violently remind himself that while he knows exactly who you are, you don’t.
You step inside the elevator, giving him a small nod, and push the button for the main floor.
It’s very silent. Changbin can’t help but glance at you - but you do the same at the same time, so both of you quickly look away. Leaning against the back of the elevator, you are pinching your lips, and you keep glancing at him. Changbin is more tense than he has ever been, keeping a solid frown on his face, his joints getting white at how tight he’s holding his briefcase.
You pull out your phone and start texting frenetically. He keeps his eyes in front of him, hoping that the elevator would just stop to let somebody else in, but it’s well on its way to the main floor without interruption. He glares at you when you snicker at your phone. Are you talking about him? Are you making fun of him?
He breathes out. Calm the fuck down.
You have no idea who he is.
And maybe it’s exactly why you are smiling like you are, stealing a few more glances. You’re not flirting, but he can feel it off you - if the context was different, you might have been. He’s trying very hard not to think about the fact that you smell really good. That your eyeliner is perfectly curved at the corner of your eyes, that he has a soft spot for knee-high boots.
So as to set his mind right, Changbin recalls to his mind the email you sent him today, and all the ones before. All the arrogance and rudeness, all the times he wanted to punch a wall or yell at you. That makes it easier, just a little bit.
The elevator finally pings at the main floor and he briskly gestures for you to get out first. You give him a cute smile.
“Thanks,” you say, your voice dripping like honey. “Have a good evening.”
Changbin clenches his jaw and does not answer. You don’t seem bothered though, as you walk away with a spring in your step. Fortunately, you head towards the street, not the subway, and he lets out a sigh of relief. Truly, small blessings.
Tumblr media
You stare at your closet and let out a long sigh. It’s not that you don’t have anything to wear, of course, but there’s just nothing you want to wear. You don’t care about impressing or seducing anyone, you just want to dress up for yourself, to feel good even just for a little while.
You hesitate but eventually settle on a simple black cocktail dress you adore because it’s extremely comfortable and has pockets. You slip it on, wearing only your golden hoops as your jewelry, and let your hair down. It would do just fine.
Gahyeon is waiting for you outside your building, which is only a few minutes walk away from the office. She looks insanely good in a red dress and matching lipstick, and you shower her in compliments. You make it to the building quickly, showing your identification to the security guard. The lobby is already quite busy with people from all departments, who are sipping champagne and catching up.
You and Gahyeon get a drink from the open bar, looking for Mr Finance Department in the crowd. Luckily, your friend has a radar for him and she spots him by the windows standing with his colleagues. He has gotten a haircut, and the short hair gives him an edgier look that really suits him.
“All right,” you say, holding your friend’s shoulders. “You remember the plan?”
Gahyeon nods. “Walk up to him, say hello, be myself.”
“And, what else?”
“Be direct.”
You hold up a palm so Gahyeon can high five you, and she sets off towards her crush, nervously playing with the strip of her handbag. You look at her go, trying not to squeal as you watch the guy turn to her and give her a sincere smile. From what you can see, although you can’t hear, they seem to be hitting it off. You feel a rush of pride, like your evening’s work has already been done. Now you can just let Gahyeon enjoy herself, have a few drinks, and go home in peace.
You head towards a quieter spot, considering going out to the terrace to enjoy the evening breeze when a familiar face stops you in your tracks.
“Oh, Y/N, long time no see.”
It’s your boss - not the boss boss, but high enough on the company hierarchy so that he is not the kind of person you can’t ignore. You give him a polite smile although you’re not really in the mood for small talk.
“How are you, sir? It’s good to see you.”
“Likewise, likewise. Now I wanted to mention to you the…”
He starts talking to you about a recent project that he wants to expand, and you nod at him, listening more or less intently - and that’s when you notice the guy standing next to him.
His black hair is slightly combed back, small strands falling back on his forehead. He’s dressed all in black, his shirt without a tie, and there’s an elegant, discreet watch on his wrist. He just emanates charisma.
Sexy Elevator Guy.
That’s the unoriginal nickname Minho gave him in your group chat when you told your friends about your encounter with a mysterious, brooding stranger in the elevator.
All week you hoped to see him again, although you never really counted on it. You didn’t even know if he worked at the company - maybe he was just a visitor. But from his attire and the fact that he is standing next to your boss, you can guess he’s your colleague.
How delightful.
Your boss seems to notice he hasn’t introduced you, and so he points at the guy, who has been staring at you since you appeared.
“Oh, but you two must know each other, right?” your boss says. “Don’t you work together?”
You frown. “Hm, I’m not sure..”
“Sure, we do,” the guy answers.
You look at him in surprise and confusion. This smile - it really does look like he knows you. Is it because of the elevator? You don’t understand.
“How delightful to finally meet you, Y/LN,” he continues, and your blood gets boiling hot. “Seo Changbin, from Marketing.”
Oh.
Oh.
Oh, no.
Your heart drops at the bottom of your chest as you stare at him. Does he know who you are? He has to, smiling proudly as he is. You’re too shocked to feel angry, but you know it’s coming.
“I -” you stutter. “I’m not -”
“Can you believe this, sir?” he laughs. “We’ve been exchanging emails for months but we’ve never met.”
“Yes,” your boss nods, “well, that’s what happens with such big companies.”
The two of them keep talking but you completely lose track, your eyes fixated on him. Seo Changbin. He is your nemesis? He is looking forward to your collaboration guy? You can’t believe it.
Yet you have to face it.
That’s him. Seo Changbin.
The guy you’ve been hating and insulting and plotting to murder.
He’s standing in front of you - and he is also Sexy Elevator Guy.
No fucking way.
“Excuse me,” you mutter and walk away without another look.
You don’t care that you’ll come off as rude - you need some air. A lot of it, actually. You head directly to the terrace, stare up at the dark sky and inhale deeply. You feel dizzy, the wine coming up your throat.
You can’t believe what just happened. It’s one thing to discover his identity - but you can’t get over the fact that he clearly knew who you were. He is playing with you. He’s had the upper hand this entire time. Of course he does, you realize. His picture isn’t on his profile, but yours is. How dumb you are.
Your eyes fixated on the horizon, you let out a bitter laugh. What a fucking dick. What an enormous piece of shit. You clench your fists, ready to go back in and punch him in the balls for humiliating you like that. Your physical idea of him might’ve been completely wrong, but it clearly wasn’t in terms of personality.
“Here.”
At the sound of his voice, you spin on your heels, ready to spit venom - but he’s no longer smiling. His eyes are dark, his face serious, and he’s handing you a glass of white wine.
“Noticed that’s what you were drinking earlier,” he explains.
You squint your eyes at him.
“Get the fuck away from me,” you hiss.
He sighs, looking at you as if he is disappointed.
“C’mon, now. Now that the cat’s out of the bag, maybe we can be professional adults about this?”
“Excuse me?!”
“I’m talking about the attitude,” he says, raising an eyebrow nonchalantly. “We don’t like each other, and that’s fine. I don’t care, I don’t need to like you. But I’m tired of working with you feeling like a fight.”
It’s like you sober up all at once, fixating on him a dark glare.
“I don’t think I’m the problem here,” you spit out. “You came in and started criticizing my work like I don’t know what I’m doing. I’ve been working here longer than you.”
“I’m still your superior,” he replies, taking a step towards you. “Whatever I say goes.”
“You don’t have to be a dick about it.”
“I’ve always been polite.”
“Polite, my ass. You’ve been looking down at me ever since your first email. I’m not stupid, don’t talk to me as if I am.”
“If only you did what is expected -”
You bark out a laugh, shaking your head. He stops.
“You did not just say that.”
He squints his eyes and exhales deeply. “All I mean is, it doesn’t have to be that difficult. Just make the damn changes.”
“I do,” you hiss. “But you could ask for them a little bit more nicely.”
“What, do you want every single email to come with a bouquet of flowers and a serenade? I have better things to do.”
“You’re such a patronizing asshole.”
“And all you do is insult me. Why can’t you act like an adult for once?”
“You know nothing about me.”
“I know enough.”
You take a deep breath. It feels like arguing with a wall - clearly, there is nothing to be done, and really, nothing to say. You just don’t get along, and that will be the end of it. You suddenly feel tired. You take the glass of wine from his hand.
“Here’s one more insult for the road: fuck you.”
You just want to go back inside, finish your drink and get home, but Changbin grabs your upper arm as you’re starting to walk away. He doesn’t do it gently, but it’s not rough either - you look up at him with spite.
Or you try.
Because Changbin is so very terribly your type, smells wonderful, and has the kind of voice to get anyone weak in the knees.
Focus, woman.
“What?” you hiss.
“This conversation is not over.”
“Oh, I think it is,” you laugh with scorn.
“It isn’t,” he retorts, his eyes focused on you.
He’s standing a little too close for your liking - you can’t help but glance at his lips. Plump. Inviting.
“We have to figure out a way to work together. It’s not like we have a choice.”
You lift your chin slightly. “If you don’t let me go this second, I’ll scream and tell everyone you’re a pervert.”
He bites his lip, clearly holding back an insult, and you wish he would just say it. He doesn’t, though, and simply lets you go. You shake your hair out of your face.
“I’m sick of the games,” he chews. “Tell me what you want.”
You smile at him. “The games.”
He sighs and you chuckle.
“Don’t think for a second you’ll get away with this trick you just pulled. If you thought I was difficult before, you have no idea what’s coming for you now, Mr. Seo.”
He looks exhausted and slightly worried, but angry most of all. That delights you, and you finally walk away from him, finishing your glass of wine in one sip.
Tumblr media
He can’t let you walk away like this.
This is all Changbin can think of as he watches you cross the terrace to go back inside. If it ends like this, then it will all be for the worst. You might follow up on your promise to make his life a living hell, or even worse, things might get awkward and even more tense. No, definitely, you and him need to continue this conversation and find some kind of agreement.
He licks his lips, turning away from the building in annoyance. He never signed up for this when he decided to leave his previous workplace for this one - yes, the salary was better, and so were the benefits, but it was never about that. It was about challenging himself, about growing and learning in his workplace environment, about finding his place. You couldn’t get in the way of that. Nobody could.
Changbin glances inside to make sure you haven’t left the building - he catches a glimpse of you near the bar, sulking. Good, he thinks, as he finishes his own glass. Let the both of you be miserable and angry, at least.
The world feels so quiet out on the terrace, but when he steps back inside, his ears are filled once more with the sounds of music and conversation. Since there are a lot of people around, maybe it won’t be as easy for you to start spitting venom at him - but he doesn’t really count on that. He takes a deep breath, tries to settle his anger. Just a conversation. Calm, polite, reasonable. You can do that.
However, as you lock eyes with him across the room, Changbin knows it won’t be that easy. Your eyes are full of fire, your mouth pinched in spite. It could be unattractive if only that black dress did not perfectly hug your curves and set his mind wandering against his will.
“For fuck’s sake, can’t you leave me alone?” you whine.
It would be so easy to fall back into the same energy as you, but Changbin holds on. He breathes in, leaning against the wall next to you. He’s not a difficult person. He doesn’t usually get into conflicts with people. Why he does with you is beyond him.
“Look,” he says. “I just want to be able to work in peace.”
“So do I,” you sigh. “But you never let that happen.”
“How about this,” he snaps, turning to face you. “I hold back on the passive aggressive, but so do you.”
To his despair, you only give him a smug smile.
“So you admit to the passive aggressiveness.”
“Is this what you pick up on?”
“Didn’t you hear me earlier?” you say, frowning. “You humiliated me. Made damn sure I’d feel like a fool not knowing your face. I’m not going to let you walk away from that.”
“What the hell do you want from me?”
You scoff. “You think I’m going to tell you now? No way. I want you to live in fear.”
It’s entirely against his will, but Changbin laughs. He quickly frowns afterwards, sliding a hand across his face. The look of surprise on your face quickly fades away, though, to a certain revolt.
“Are you laughing at me?” you ask.
“No,” he sighs, making sure his face no longer holds any kind of laughter. “You’re just getting on my last nerve.”
“Well you’ve been on mine for a certain time.”
“It’s useless to talk to you, isn’t it?”
“If you wanted to talk, why didn’t you just come and see me? Why did you have to do all that shit with the picture and the boss? Why did you have to mock me like you did?”
You are so full of fire, Changbin can’t believe his eyes and ears. You’re like a flame he can’t look away from - a flame he desperately wants to extinguish for his own preservation, and yet one he desperately wants to graze with his fingers, even knowing he’ll get burned.
Your conversation is going nowhere, Changbin is aware of it. Things have gone completely out of hand, so much it all feels like a fever dream. So confused between his different feelings for you, Changbin breathes out, pulling on his suit to replace it on his shoulders.
“I need another drink,” he mumbles.
Without him expecting it, tables turn - this time, it’s you grabbing his arm as he is turning away. He looks up at you in surprise.
“I have an idea,” you say.
Tumblr media
It might be the booze, or it might just be the adrenaline, but you find yourself dragging Seo Changbin by the wrist across the lobby, all the way to the elevators. To your surprise, he doesn’t even try to shrug you off, and you don’t let him go.
You both get in the elevator and you push the button for the 12th floor. Changbin waits until the doors have closed and you stand in silence to ask.
“Where are we going?”
“Where do you think?” you sigh. “Your office.”
He turns towards you, eyes dark.
“Why?”
You do the same, turning to face him. Your index pushes against his chest.
“You’re going to do something for me,” you state. “Even if I have to endure your shit, I’ll make sure nobody else does.”
“I’m not going to - It’s not even - and how are you going to do that?”
“Simple,” you grin. “Upload a picture.”
The doors of the elevator open on this perfect timing, and you wave your hand.
“After you.”
He lets out a long sigh but he still leads you to his office. You’ve never been in this area of the building, but now is not the time for sightseeing. Besides, most floors look the same.
Changbin opens the door to his office, and you follow him inside. It’s not a very big room, but it’s still wide enough for a large desk and bookshelves. There are two large windows, and the walls facing the rest of the floor are made of glass. Not much for privacy, you think. But then again, your own desk stands in the middle of a wide room, which you share with ten other people.
You nod towards his chair. “Sit.”
He rolls his eyes, but he does. You stand next to him, arms crossed, thinking about the fact that this was probably the spot from where he sent most of his day-ruining emails to you. You bite your tongue a little.
“C’mon. Open the computer and upload the damn picture.”
“I don’t have one.”
“One what?”
“A picture,” he explains. “An official one, I mean.”
You groan. “I don’t give a shit. Find another one, it’ll have to do.”
“I was told it had to be -”
“Hey,” you snap. “You’re in no position to argue.”
He scoffs but he doesn’t answer, although he clearly disagrees. You don’t care you’re being petty, and that he’s being the bigger person - you’ve never had much of a reasonable nature. As Changbin searches through his computer, you walk around the office, staring at the window, staring at him, and then at his screen. You catch a glimpse of a group picture, of him with friends, smiling widely at the camera.
He shakes his head but reframes the picture and uploads it to his email profile. You squint your eyes.
“There. You happy?” he lets out.
“It’ll do for now,” you say.
He closes the windows on his screen, standing up. His shoulders are wide, his arms too. You remember that gym bag he was carrying.
“Let’s go, then,” he says.
You chuckle. “Oh, do you think this is over?”
He blinks at you, chuckling in disbelief. “Isn’t it?”
“Not even close.”
“All right, this is enough,” he growls, taking a step towards you. “I’ve done what you wanted, can’t you move on now?”
“No, I can’t,” you spit. “You’ve made my life difficult ever since you’ve started working here and -”
“What about my life?” Changbin hisses. “You think your fucking tone and attitude has made my days easier?”
“At least I’m not a self-righteous asshole!” you cry out.
“God, you’re fucking detestable,” he says.
He’s standing too close to you now. All you can see, all you can smell, is him, him, him. The tension is so tightly drawn between your two bodies you feel like it can only snap. You desperately hold on to your end, though, because you’re scared of what might happen if you do let go - but it’s out of your control.
Changbin breathes in, and his eyes linger for a second too long on your lips - and that makes the tightrope snap.
He doesn’t kiss you first, but neither do you - it just happens at the same time. Your lips crash halfway in a feverish dance, and you can’t understand what is happening to you. It feels like your entire body just caught on fire, like everything makes sense, like every step you’ve taken, every word you’ve uttered, has led you to this moment.
Changbin’s hand slides behind your head, holding the back of your neck, and your arms circle his waist to sprawl on his back. He kisses you deeply, breathing you in, and you can only collapse in his arms.
Your hands go against his chest, and then in his hair, as he keeps pushing your head against his lips, as if to deepen your kiss, more and more. Your back hits the desk behind you, but you barely notice. All you can feel are Changbin’s lips devouring yours, his arms holding you close. You open your mouth wider but he’s quicker, sliding his tongue inside before you can do the same.
A moan escapes your throat, vibrating against his lips, and he draws you in even closer. It seems like forever before you lean back, breathless, just in order to catch your breath. Your lips feel swollen already, but you don’t want to stop kissing him. Still, the slight distance gives you enough perspective to realize what is happening.
“What the fuck am I doing,” you whisper, shaking your head.
A part of you wants to slip away, just so you have time to put some order in your thoughts, but as you are about to do so, Changbin’s fingers, which had been resting on your waist, grab your chin tightly. You whimper.
“Is this a part of your little game?” he says in a low voice, breathing heavily.
“What?”
“Tell me the truth,” he hisses. “Are you playing with me now?”
“What the fuck is wrong with you?”
You angrily grab his wrist, trying to pull his hand away - but he is stronger than you. You struggle against him, gritting your teeth.
“Answer me,” he insists.
“Fuck you,” you spit out.
He relaxes enough for you to push him away, squinting your eyes at him in anger.
“Way to ruin the moment, asshole.”
You do the only thing that makes sense for you in that instant - walk away. You’re ashamed and horribly angry at yourself for letting this happen. He’s attractive, yes, but he’s ruined so many of your days, made you feel miserable and worthless at your job. You have to hold on to your anger - and it has to be directed at him.
Your heels make no sound against the carpet and it’s infuriating. You don’t hear anyone behind you either, so you guess Changbin has decided not to follow you. It’s probably a good thing, although now you feel entirely at a loss as to how your workdays will go. Should you be quiet? You scoff. No - if anyone should, it’s him.
Your hand smashes the button for the elevator. It takes too long to arrive, but it does. You enter the elevator, push the button for the lobby and cross your arms.
Fuck, if only he wasn’t such a good kisser.
The doors are nearly closed when he comes in. He slides between them, stands in front of you. He’s not that much taller than you but someone in his demeanor makes you feel like he’s towering over you by several inches.
“Just leave me alone, will you?” you hiss.
He scoffs, shaking his head. There’s a wildness in his eyes, and you can’t look away from him.
“Can you really blame me for asking?”
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
“About playing games,” he says, articulating each syllable. Each sounds angrier than the last. “You told me you’d make me regret what I did.”
You pout. “Aw, are you really that scared? It’s not my fault you made it your job to piss me off.”
“Look who’s talking.”
You stare at each other for a second. It’s like the tension has magically reappeared, unresolved. It’s clear you both want the same thing, but can’t bring yourselves to say or show it. You’re so angry at him.
He takes another step towards you. Your faces are inches from each other - just a nod and his lips would be on yours again.
“Fine. I’m sorry about the picture thing,” he says, his voice low and deep.
“Just that?” you ask, arching an eyebrow.
His smirk only curves half of his mouth, and it’s humorless. “Don’t push it.”
You are the one to tilt your head forward, just slightly.
“This does not mean I’m not angry at you,” you breathe in his mouth.
“And we still need to talk about this,” he adds.
“Later,” you nod.
He turns to slam the button to stop the elevator, and as his body comes back to face yours, you pull him in your arms and kiss him.
It’s even more desperate and angry than before, maybe because neither of you are held back by the surprise and doubt. It’s unsaid, but you hear it from his lips, it doesn’t mean anything. You’ve just both been tense and you need an outlet - what better than each other?
Changbin pushes you against the wall of the elevator, his hands discovering your body. His warmth and his weight are completely enveloping you, and you push his jacket away. He shrugs it off, and the fabric of his shirt is soft against your skin.
Changbin kisses you deep, like he’s been waiting to do it, like you’re not on top of each other inside a dark elevator outside of work hours, his tongue tasting of lemon and gin.
One of his hands traces your hips and slides on your ass, squeezing softly. In a swift move, he lifts one of your legs and wraps it around his. It elicits a moan from you, your nails scratch the back of his neck. He growls in your mouth, biting your lower lip in answer.
With his body pushed against yours, you can feel his hard cock, and he shifts you so it rubs directly against your wetness. You roll your hips, breathing heavily against his mouth.
“You like that, huh?” he tells you. “Rubbing yourself against me.”
“Easy, you’re so fucking hard already,” you retort.
“Like you aren’t all wet for my dick,” he sighs, kissing your neck.
You feel yourself clench at his words. When you don’t answer, only grab him tighter, Changbin chuckles.
“You are, aren’t you?” he whispers, his hands moving up your dress, lifting it slowly, warming your thighs.
“Shut the fuck up.”
He shakes his head, biting your earlobe hard. You let out a small whimper.
“I’m gonna fuck that tight little pussy of yours so good you won’t be able to come into work tomorrow.”
“You wish,” you answer, starting to unbutton his pants. “I’m not gonna let you go a day without getting an email from me. I’m going to fucking torture you.”
As you mutter the words, you take his cock out of his pants and start to rub your hand around it. Changbin hisses, slightly bucking his hips.
“You need a fucking lesson,” he sneers, pushing your underwear to the side to touch you. “I’m going to shut you up.”
He is right - you’re soaked, but it seems to please him. He takes a few seconds to caress you, spreading your wetness, and inserting a finger inside of you. You let out a choked moan, wrapping your arms around his neck for a better hold.
“That’s right,” he mutters. “That’s what I like to hear.”
He inserts another finger, stretching your walls, and moving his wrist in sharp motions. You breathe out erratically, grabbing onto his suit, his fingers curled inside your cunt.
“Fuck, you’re so tight. Making me lose my goddamn mind.”
You don’t want him to stop what he is doing, but you are craving the feel of his cock inside of you, so you tug at his hardness, kissing his jaw.
“Fuck me already.”
He doesn’t need you to ask twice, guiding himself against your entrance and penetrating you. You let out a choked moan, grabbing onto the wall of the elevator. He gives you time to adjust to his size, but he’s not being particularly careful either.
“Holy shit,” you mutter in his ear despite yourself.
“Fuck, I can feel my cock stretching you,” he grunts.
He thrusts his hips faster and faster, and in a matter of seconds he’s pounding into you. The elevator is silent except for the sounds of your heavy breathing and moans, and the lewd sounds of him fucking you, skin slapping against skin.
Your nails dig inside the back of his neck again, and he grips your waist so tight you’re sure it will leave a mark.
“Changbin, don’t stop,” you cry out.
“So impatient,” he sneers, but he still doesn’t stop, like he can’t, like he’s a man possessed.
He even accelerates, and you feel yourself coming. Your orgasm ripples through you like lightning. Your body shakes, your thoughts evaporate. Changbin fucks you deep, his breathing heavy in your hair.
“I can’t -” he hisses. “I’m not -”
“Come inside me,” you surprise yourself whispering.
You can feel his cock twitch at your words, and he comes inside you, hips bucking sharply, grunts escaping his throat like it’s hurting it.
You stay like that for a few minutes, panting, recovering your breath. After a few seconds he takes a step back, breathing out. You got back on both feet, feeling dizzy and already sore. You both look like a mess, hair tangled, lips raw from kissing.
You lean back against the wall, breathing slowly. He does the same on the wall next to you. You’re silent for a few seconds.
“I have to go to the bathroom,” you say softly.
Changbin nods.
“Let’s go back up. There won’t be anyone there.”
His voice is softer than you’ve ever heard - almost tender. You look at him, giving him a small nod, and he pushes the elevator button so it heads back upstairs.
He lets you go to the bathroom alone, where you clean up, but he’s waiting for you outside.
“All good?” he asks with a frown.
“Yes.”
You look down at the floor as he does, and then back at him - meeting his eyes in the process. The silence is awkward, but just like that, you find yourself smiling. Him, too.
And then you start laughing.
It’s not hysterical laughter, just chuckling. He looks almost shy, and you can’t stop giggling. You might even be blushing.
“I don’t know about you,” he says, scrunching his nose. “But I feel a lot better.”
You smirk. “Took the words right out of my mouth.”
He stretches a hand towards you. “Wanna go back to the party?”
You nod. “Hell yes. I need a drink.”
“So do I.”
You head back to the elevator, and you let it head downstairs this time. Smirking to yourselves, you feel like the whole thing is unreal.
But you do feel better. You don’t force your smile - it stretches on your face, plastered, almost annoyingly so. And Changbin. Fuck. You think he’s cute, with his cheeks still red and his neck a mess from the work of your nails.
“By the way,” you say. “You look fucking hot in that suit.”
“Right back at you. When I saw that little black dress I almost bit my fist off.”
You grin. Changbin turns to you, placing a strand of your hair behind your ear.
“Something’s not right, though,” he says.
You frown as he leans towards you, whispering in your ear.
“I didn’t get to do half of the things I want to do to you. So once we’ve had a couple of drinks, I’m taking you to my place, and I’m giving you another lesson. And this one will last.”
You bite your lip as the elevator doors open on the main hall, which is still filled with your chatting coworkers. Nothing has changed - the world has kept on spinning. Changbin gives you a smile, and extends his arm.
“Shall we?”
Tumblr media
Changbin does not bring you to his place.
You bring him to yours.
Both of you started to get impatient after just one drink, eyefucking each other over your glasses although you had both just came hard in the elevator. It was like something finally snapped inside him, and he could let his thoughts roam free, unashamed, unbound.
The way your dress hugged your cleavage. The way your lips curled around the rim of your glass, begging to be kissed, begging to be fucked. All the things he wanted to do to you, that he had never let himself really think about, just proliferated in his mind. He could not stop thinking about how you moaned his name, how hot and humid you felt around him, how he wanted to slide his tongue on every inch of your skin. It made it difficult to focus on small talk with your colleagues. He kept feeling himself getting hard and he knew his pants were too tight for him to be able to hide it.
So he waited until you finished your drink and stole you away. Your place was just a short walk from the building. You made it there quickly, miraculously able to hold off making out and grinding against each other.
Now the front door is locked and you are alone.
Changbin stares at you in the darkness of the hallway. You look so fucking beautiful with your hair still a little dischelved from earlier, your lipstick tinting your lips a shade darker, your heels giving your legs the shape of heaven.
You take a step towards him and grab his hand, leading him to your bedroom. It’s small and cozy, most of the space occupied by a large bed - how perfect. It is unmade, the sheets tangled, a smell of lavender lingering in the air.
You aim for a kiss but Changbin shakes his head.
“Open a light,” he says. “I want to see you.”
You nod and turn on the lamp on your bedside table. It infuses the room in a soft yellow glow, and Changbin licks his lips. Perfect.
In a blur you find each other again, kissing passionately, feverishly. Changbin slides his tongue inside your mouth, toying with yours, drawing soft sighs from you. It’s a delightful sound he already likes too much. Eagerly, you remove his jacket, your hands palming his chest over the material of his shirt, and Changbin unbuttons it impatiently.
“Fuck, you look so fucking good,” you chuckle at the sight of his naked chest, immediately tracing the defined muscles with your finger tips.
His cock is already hard as a rock, pushing against his pants, but he barely thinks about it - he only sees you.
He takes a deep breath, because he wants to pace himself, because he wants to take his time with you this time. You made him impatient before, you clenched around his cock too tight, you sounded too good - but he won’t let it happen again. So he tilts your head to the left so he can kiss your neck, slowly unzipping your dress. His fingers brush the skin of your back at the same time, and he feels you shiver against him.
The dress falls on the ground, and Changbin takes a step back to admire your lingerie, simple black lace that makes the blood rush to his cock so hard he has no choice but to palm it, just to relieve it a little.
“You like?” you say cheekily.
“I’m trying to decide if I want to keep it on you or rip it off,” he answers, shaking his head.
You chuckle. “Want me to decide for you?”
Darkness flashes in Changbin’s eyes, and he closes the distance between you again, staring down at you.
“Listen, pet,” he growls. “Don’t think you have any control here. I make the decisions and you listen. If you don’t there will be consequences.”
The smile doesn’t disappear from your face, and Changbin can see that you like it when he speaks to you this way.
“A dom, huh?” you breathe. “How predictable.”
“Just as predictable that a brat like you is a sub.”
You pout. “Just for you tonight, sir.”
You slide a hand in his air and lean against his ear to whisper.
“One day you’ll find yourself handcuffed to the head of this bed and begging me to let you come. But let’s stick to tonight’s narrative.”
Changbin can’t help but chuckle at your words, feeling something swell in his chest. He likes you a little too much, and it makes no sense. Hours ago the only emotion you created in him was anger. But then again he hadn’t really met you.
“That’s right, pet,” he nods, taking a fistful of your hair. “Now you lay down on the bed like a good girl before I make you, huh?”
You nod, and Changbin follows you to the bed, when you lay down. He removes the rest of his clothes, letting his cock spring free, and catches you staring at it, licking your lips. He chuckles.
“Don’t worry, you’ll get your taste. But I’m having mine first.”
He pulls your legs so you are laying on the edge of the bed, spreading your legs so can stand between them. He bends forward to kiss you, stroking your hair, and carefully removes your bra. You sigh as he circles his thumb over your sensitive nipples, massaging the other breast in his hand. Slowly, Changbin makes his way down your neck, his tongue drinking in your skin. He leaves a few kisses on your breasts, then on your stomach, and then hovers over your panties.
“Changbin…” you sigh.
“Still all wet and full of me, are you, pet? Is this sensitive?”
He pushes his index on the lace material, sending a shiver through your body.
“Y-yes. Fuck, Changbin, stop teasing me.”
“I don’t think so.”
He kisses you above the fabric, sliding his tongue over it. Even that way he can taste you, your wetness drenching your panties, and Changbin can feel his cock twitch. Fuck, he cannot wait to be inside of you again - but he has to be patient.
“So good to me, pet. So good. Let’s remove that.”
He takes off your panties and pushes your legs apart, taking in the sight of your soaked cunt, all throbbing and waiting for him. He hums appreciatively, unable to stop himself from stroking his cock at the same time.
“You’re so fucking gorgeous. Now you don’t come without me telling you so, right, pet? You understand the rules?”
“Yes, sir,” you breathe out.
From your voice and the way you are already heavily breathing, he can sense you are desperate for contact. Changbin finds himself unable to really torture you much longer, and sinks his lips into your cunt.
You immediately let out a whimper, arching your back against his mouth. Changbin holds your legs apart, swirling his tongue around your clit, slurping you in. Your taste instantly gets him drunk, the feel of your juices coating his chin making him want to possess you right this second. But it feels too good to feel you writhing against his caresses, moaning his name. You grab his hair, pulling it, and it hurts a little but it’s the best kind of pain.
“Look at that mess, pet,” he smiles against your pussy. “Has anyone ever eaten you out properly before?”
“Fuck,” you breathe, and he stares at the way your chest moves, your nipples hard. It’s such a beautiful sight he gives your clit a few licks to reward you. “Nothing like you, Changbin. You’re - fuck - you’re making out with my pussy so well…”
“Good, pet,” he chuckles. “Keep it up with the praise and I’ll let you come.”
“Changbin, please…”
He slides his tongue inside of you, teasing your entrance, and he can feel you clenching even this way - you must be close to coming, but you’re holding on, and he’s proud of you. He could edge you like this all night, if only his cock wasn’t starting to hurt him, aching for you.
“Fuck, your tongue, Changbin - keep licking me like that, please, don’t stop…”
“You want to come, pet?”
“Yes, please, c-can I?”
As he inserts two fingers inside of you and starts pumping them, his tongue pressed against your clit, you cry out in pleasure, pulling his hair.
“Changbin, fuck, I can’t - I can’t -”
“Come, pet, come all over my mouth.”
And just like that you do, your hips bucking under his touch, your pussy throbbing in his mouth. He can feel your walls tighten, your legs trembling, and he doesn’t stop his caresses throughout your orgasm, so you can ride it as long as you can.
Once you breathe out, your body sinking into the mattress, Changbin steps back, placing a kiss on the inside of your thigh. He wipes your juices off his chin and stands up to push your hair away from your face. You already look fucked out, your skin covered in a thin layer of sweat, your eyes glassy.
“Holy fuck, that was amazing,” you say softly.
“It’s not over, pet,” he replies, kissing your pretty lips.
“Can I suck your cock, now?”
“You’re asking so nicely, pet. How can I say no?”
You grin, looking down at his erect cock. Changbin takes a deep breath, letting you smear the pre-cum on the tip and giving it a few tentative strokes.
“I like your cock a lot, y’know?” you tell him. “So pretty and thick.”
Changbin slides a hand through his hair, easing his breathing, as you take him in your mouth. You suck him well, bobbing your head up and down, taking the time to wrap your tongue around him. Your hand accompanies your movements, stroking his base, and Changbin groans at the sensation. He would close his eyes and bask in the pleasure you’re giving him if only it wasn’t so intoxicating to keep looking at you. Such a beautiful sight, seeing you suck him off like that after having eaten your sweet cunt.
“Am I doing good, sir?” you ask, slapping his cock on your tongue.
Changbin grins. “Doing fantastic, pet. I knew you would look good wrapped around my cock, but it’s even better.”
“Did you think about it a lot?” you ask.
He frowns.
“You saw my picture,” you say, arching an eyebrow. “Did you imagine me with my cock in your mouth before, or did you just hate my guts?”
Changbin laughs, holding your hair. “I think I spent most of my energy hating you so I wouldn’t think about you sucking me off.”
“Hm,” you say with a satisfied smirk. “If I’d known what you looked like I would’ve come to give you a blowjob under your desk way before.”
“Never too late,” he grins. “If you do that for me I might bend you over my desk afterwards.”
You giggle, and Changbin feels that warmth in his chest again. He’s starting to like you a little too much, and it has nothing to do with the fact that his balls deep inside your mouth right now. You’re funny. Witty. Pretty. Even worse, you’re fun.
“For now let’s focus, pet, yeah?” he says. “This is good, but I want more from that pretty mouth.”
He guides you back, gesturing you to lay down on the bed upside down. Your head placed on the edge of it, he towers over you.
“You tell me if this is too much,” he whispers to you, and you nod - but you just open your mouth wide for him.
He guides his cock back in your mouth, able to move as much as he wants. You gag a little as he goes deep in your throat, but you’re taking him well - and so, Changbin accelerates. He fucks your mouth, perhaps a little too roughly, but it feels so fucking good he can’t stop.
“Fuck, look at how you swallow my cock, pet,” he says, breathing hard.
“It’s because you fuck my mouth so good, sir,” you answer.
He grins, bucking his hips, staring at your gorgeous body as he does. You’re touching yourself at the same time, your fingers pressed against your clit. Your eyes are watering, the saliva around your lips making his thrusts easier, and he’s dangerously close to exploding in your mouth.
“Such a good little pet,” he groans. “Do you remember when I filled that cunt of yours, earlier?”
You nod around his cock.
“This time I’ll make you choke on my cum,” he smiles.
You moan, the vibration sending him on the edge, and Changbin has to pull out from your mouth.
“Don’t move,” he grunts. “I need to fuck you.”
He climbs on top of you on the bed, making sure your head is against the mattress, and pushes into you without hesitation. It’s like it brings him clarity again, as much as the feel of you around his cock is making him more insane.
“God, this fucking cunt. I’m never getting tired of it,” he chuckles.
“Yes, fuck me deep,” you moan. “Make me feel that beautiful cock of yours.”
He thrusts his hips inside of you, stretching you deeper and deeper. You pant against him, your nails digging into the skin of his back, but Changbin doesn’t care. He pounds into you, feeling sweaty and drunk on the scent and taste of you.
“C-Changbin, fuck, yes…”
“Where’s that praise, pet? I need to hear it,” he grunts.
“I - I’m trying…”
“Am I fucking you dumb, or what? Keep talking.”
But he’s fucking so fast and sharp, and it’s difficult for you to find the words. Changbin can only stare at your face, your closed eyes, your parted mouth. Your lips are a little bruised, your hair a mess, your makeup smudged. You look like a dream.
“F-fucking me so good,” you breathe. “I love your cock inside of me. Please, k-keep fucking me…”
You’re clenching around him tightly, so close to your orgasm, and so is Changbin - he’s breathing fast, trying to hold off, but it’s getting more and more difficult. Once he’s inside of you he can’t think straight, and he’s getting impatient.
“Fuck, Y/N,” he slips out, your name feeling smooth on his lips. “I’m going to come. Let’s do it together, yeah?”
“Y-yes, please…”
How he wanted to come in your mouth - but his cock does not want to listen, and he explores inside of you instead for the second time tonight. You come as well, shaking around him as he fills you up, moaning his name loudly, the sound echoing in the room.
Changbin wipes his forehead, staying inside of you for another second. He tries to catch his breath, and opens his eyes to look at you. You are already staring at him, smiling softly.
“I thought you wanted to come in my mouth?” you tease him.
He chuckles, shaking his head. “You really get on my last nerve, you know that?”
You both laugh.
It’s yet another day at work.
You twirl on your deskchair, typing your translation on a fair rhythm. You’re not particularly fast today, but you’re not slow, either.
It’s just that your thoughts are a little elsewhere.
You take a break to take a sip of coffee, and an email notification appears on your screen.
Seo Changbin.
You push your tongue against your cheek, smirking devilishly to yourself. You sent him a particularly fiery email a few minutes ago, and you can’t wait to see his answer. You click a little too fast on your inbox.
Dear Y/LN,
Your email has come to my attention but I am in a meeting and unfortunately cannot attend to your request. Please rest assured it will be my top priority once I get back to my office. I will make sure to personally attend to these matters.
Ever yours,
Seo Changbin
You bite your lip, trying to be discreet as you chuckle. You scroll down to see the email you’d sent him. Just a few meaningless words about asking for clarification about the dress code, and a picture attached. A picture you’ve taken from under your desk, displaying your blatant lack of underwear.
You’re still playing a dangerous game - it’s just of another kind.
You send him a quick reply, your eyes shining.
Looking forward to your collaboration.
ripper / damon salvatore x reader
summary: Stefan flipped his switch and you and Damon have been trying your hardest to bring him home... but Stefan has other ideas.
word count: 1.9k
warnings: typical tvdu stuff (blood, fear, pain, etc)
Tumblr media
“Goodnight, Linda! I’ll see you next week,” you called out as you pushed the door to the boutique open, letting it shut behind you as you crossed the street to find your car. Your mind was swimming with unanswered questions, things in Mystic Falls had been topsy-turvy since Stefan flipped his switch and skipped town with Klaus. You and Damon had been hunting down every lead while keeping it from Elena, encouraging her to move on while the two of you ignored your own hypocrisy as you refused to do the same. On top of every dead end or trip down south to cover up the carnage Stefan left in his wake there was something brewing just beneath the surface with Damon the two of you were refusing to acknowledge. It wasn’t the time, there was too much on your plates but it didn’t stop the tension that seeped into every late night you spent with him poring over files Sheriff Forbes had given you.
You unlocked your car as it came into view, listening to the chirps echo down the empty street but stopped in your tracks when a figure appeared before you, “Stefan?” you asked, hope filling your voice but it faded just as soon as it had appeared when you looked into his eyes… so cold and dark, unlike the ones you’d come to know. “Where have you been? We’ve been looking for you.”
“I know,” he answered, “I’m here to tell you to stop.”
“Come on, Stefan… let us help you, I can help you,” you pleaded and he just chuckled darkly. He was someone you used to trust implicitly, he’d saved you from sudden death time and time again, taken you in and given you a home when Klaus had killed your parents to prove a point but this was not the Stefan you knew.
“You can help me, sweetheart,” he said, fingers trailing along your collarbone and you felt sick to your stomach at his touch. “God, have I been dying to know what you taste like,” he muttered mostly to himself. You thought about running, but it was pointless… you thought about screaming for help, but he’d just kill whoever showed up… Damon. Damon was at the grill, just a handful of yards away. “So many nights hearing that heartbeat just down the hallway, like a siren call. How stupid was I to resist?” he asked rhetorically and while his attention was focused on the pulsing of your neck you slowly pulled your phone from your back pocket, dialing Damon’s number and praying to whatever god was listening that you didn’t hit the wrong buttons.
“So, what’s the plan, Stefan? Just going to kill me right here in front of the grill?” you asked, voice wavering as you tried to stall him. “Who are you trying to send a message to? Damon? Elena?” He growled in response.
“Maybe the message is for you,” he said, hand closing around your throat. “Did you think I wouldn’t know you’ve been helping him? That it wasn’t you who’s been covering my tracks?” he asked but you couldn’t answer. His hand disappeared and you sucked in a breath only to let out a cry of pain as he gripped your wrist, pulling your phone into view before he pried it out and you felt your bones crack under the pressure as he tossed it aside. “Stupid girl, are you trying to make this easier on me?”
“So this is hard for you?” you asked, clinging onto that as you took a step back and tried to ignore the pain in your wrist. “Good, lean into it. You don’t want to kill me, even with your humanity off you can’t tell me you don’t miss the fun we used to have together… dancing with Lexi to Bon Jovi, crushing Elena and Jeremy at pool…” you trailed off, trying to spark something in him. “Just, come home, Stefan. Let me help you, everything can go back to how it was.”
“Yes, I really do, because the real fun is what I’ve been denying myself all this time.” he sneered and you felt a gush of wind behind you.
“Whoa brother, just take it easy,” you heard Damon say and suddenly you were flipped around with your back pressed against Stefan, his arm a vice grip around your waist as his other hand held onto your throat.
“You really should have stopped looking for me,” Stefan growled as you squirmed in his grasp, pain radiating through your arm as you struggled for air. “I don’t want to be found.”
“Yet you came all this way to Mystic Falls, to the middle of the town square. That doesn’t scream don’t find me,” Damon pointed out, taking a step closer but he stopped in his tracks when you let out a cry as the grip around you tightened. Damon could hear your heart thudding against your ribcage, quick and uneven as your eyes pleaded with him to do something.
“Had to deliver a message,” Stefan responded. “But now that I’m here, she is a lot of fun, isn’t she, brother? Always was so brave, even in the face of death,” he chuckled as he brushed your hair from your neck. “You can’t tell me you haven’t thought about it,” he taunted.
“Just let her go, we can talk this out… come to an understanding,” Damon said, slowly taking another step. He’d never felt so helpless, like control was slipping through his fingers like sand.
“Oh, I’m not in the mood for talking,” he replied and you felt his lips kiss along your carotid artery and you stiffened in his grasp before thrashing against him. “So responsive,” he chuckled and anger flared in Damon’s chest at the sight. “Come on, Damon… all this time you’ve been pushing me to have more fun, now you want to stop me?”
“You want real fun? You’re not going to find it here in Mystic Falls,” he said, gesturing to the empty town around him. “Let’s go on a good old fashioned brotherly road trip, find some girls that actually enjoy being fed on,” he said, and you didn’t miss the desperation in his voice as you tried to calm your breathing and focus on anything other than the ache throbbing in your wrist. Stefan wasn’t swayed and you let out a pained cry as his fangs sunk into your neck, opening you up as he drank you in and you struggled in his arms.
“Stefan- don’t,” you choked out, fighting against him. Your words came out strained as blood poured from your neck and you felt tears slipping down your cheeks. “Elena will… she’ll never forgive you.”
“She’s right, brother. Just let her go, we can make this all go away,” Damon pleaded and he knew you didn’t have much time before he ripped your head off. You were already starting to go limp in his arms and Damon’s eyes were apologetic as he looked at you but you didn’t have enough time to process what it meant before you were flying through the air and hitting the ground with a thud that winded you. You groaned as you lifted your arms to press against the wound in your neck, each nerve ending protesting with a fiery jolt of pain as you tried to control the bleeding.
You couldn’t see anything, couldn’t move… all you could hear was a crack in the distance as your eyes fluttered closed before you felt your body being tugged upright. “Come on, drink…” Damon said, shaking you softly and when you didn’t respond he shook you harder. “You don’t get to do this, damn it! Drink,” he said again and your eyes opened as you wrapped your lips around his wrist, letting the sickly sweet liquid slide down your throat. You were alone again, vaguely making out Damon on the phone with somebody before you lost consciousness.
“Hey, hey, easy, you’re safe now,” you heard as you sat up in bed, startled as your eyes darted around and you saw you were back in your room at the boarding house. Damon was looking down at you intensely as tried to ease you into laying back down but you just shook your head.
“Where is he?” you asked frantically, “please tell me we didn’t lose him.”
“He’s in the cellar,” he answered. You let yourself relax a little at this, knowing the hope you’d been clinging to all summer seemed a little more realistic now. “I’m so sorry,” he whispered and your face twisted in confusion. “This is all my fault.”
“What? Damon, this isn’t your fault,” you tried but he just shook his head.
“He knew the way to get to me was through you, I shouldn’t… he didn’t want to be found, I shouldn’t have pushed,” he said and your eyes softened as you took him in. He looked exhausted and the faint light peeking around your curtains let you know he must have been waiting a while for you to wake up.
“He knew I was helping you, this was as much a message for you as it was for me,” you replied. “I’ll be okay.”
“But you’re not right now,” he said and you smiled sadly.
“But I will be,” you reassured, “nobody said bringing a ripper back from the depths of inhumanity would be easy.”
“I’m so sorry,” he repeated and you just wrapped your arms around him, letting yourself move to straddle his hips to pull him closer into you. “You don’t deserve this, I… I should have protected you better. I can’t lose you,” he muttered into your chest as his arms snaked around your waist and held you tight.
“I’m not going anywhere,” you said and he pulled back to look up at you, eyes swimming with emotion.
“You… you mean too much to me,” he said, fingers brushing your hair behind your ear before cupping your jaw. “I can’t lose you,” he repeated.
“And you won’t,” you promised, eyes sad as you knew this wasn’t really a promise you could keep, but you would try… for him. You let your fingers thread through his hair as you held him close, needing the comfort right now as much as he did. Putting on a brave face was what you were good at, you seemed to face a new evil every week in this town but this was different… This was Stefan, one of your closest friends who used you to prove a point, who made it look so easy to bring you within an inch of your life. You needed Damon as much as he needed you and with someone downstairs locked in a cell who was so important to the both of you, you didn’t have any fight left in you to pretend you didn’t need him.
“I love you,” he muttered against your skin and your heart skipped a beat, wondering if you’d heard him correctly. “I won’t let him hurt you ever again, I’m so sorry.” You shifted, leaning back to look down at him and those intense blue eyes held so much emotion you felt your heart crack wide open.
“Damon-” you started but he cut you off by cupping your face and pulling you down to meet his lips. You responded immediately, letting your lips move in tandem with his before pulling back breathless.
“I love you,” he repeated as you rested your forehead against his.
“I love you too,” you responded, letting yourself smile genuinely for the first time all summer. “We’re going to get your brother back, okay? We’ll get him back and everything will be okay.”
“Fuck Noah,” She whispered, panting as she threw her head back into the mirror, eyebrows furrowed in pleasure.
“Oh my god don’t stop.” She moaned, and I obliged, giving her everything I could.
“Come Y/N,” I said between sucking, and squeezing her hips, “be a good girl for me.”
Her legs began to vibrate, her mouth open, sound unable to escape as she shook through her orgasm. I didn’t stop until she physically pushed me away, shallow breaths leaving her lips.
I grabbed her chin, pulling her lips to mine, begging her to taste herself from my tongue.
Noah
Twenty fucking thousand dollars. Twenty.
My mind kept racing over two things. The fact I had to somehow come up with all this money myself; and the fact I slept with Y/N last night. I sat on the cot in our motel room the next morning, head in my hands as my leg bounced nervously.
“I-I should go,” Y/N hopped off the counter, wiping my release off of her stomach before readjusting her shorts.
“wait-” I grabbed her wrist, pulling her back toward my drunken state, “can I see you again?”
She gave me a wry smile, “I’d like that.” She tugged from my grasp but I held her tighter, pulling her into my arms.
My body remained swaying, the euphoria and alcohol mixed, “do you regret what just happened?”
I wasn’t sure if this question was for me, or her.
“No,” She said, her fingertips running up the skin of my neck. She fit against my body perfectly, as if she was always meant to be there.
I had left the bar with the boys minutes after fucking Y/N’s brains out, stealing lingering glances at her figure behind the counter before parting. Even though I was drunk, I couldn’t believe it happened… but I needed a release, a bit of euphoria to ride out through dealing with the crushing news D gave us.
Twenty thousand.
I looked at the anklet D put on me, the green dot blinking periodically. I couldn’t believe the fucking bastard was tracking our every move. He’d followed us for years, but this was next level.
I also had no idea how to get that much money by myself. The boys and I alternated job’s each night for our sanity, but the fact I had to keep a journal and record each place I got the money from, and then submit it to one of D’s bitches so he could ensure only I was doing the work, was ridiculous.
Twenty thousand this month would mean I’d need to get approximately 645 dollars a day since there were 31 days this month. Which realistically didn’t seem too bad once broken down; but some days I could bring in thousands, others, absolutely nothing at all. At least my final day of owing will be a fantastic birthday present to me.
I groaned, flopping back into the mattress on the floor, my thoughts overwhelming. Everything has led up to this moment, and I was still completely fucked.
Jolly sat on his bed, strumming away on his old acoustic guitar that was barely holding onto the strings. With his hands dancing along the neck, I closed my eyes to the rhythm he created, fingers tapping along the beat.
I began humming, words spiralling out of my mouth subconsciously, “I’ve seen the devil, more than I’ve seen god.”
Jolly gave me a slight snicker, continuing to strum, “I like that.”
“I see through you, I know what you are.”
I repeated the two phrases over and over, singing lowly as I continued to drum my fingers. Hmm. I checked the time on my phone briefly, realizing it was 4:30 pm.
I sat up, grabbed my bag and swung it over my shoulder.
“Where are you going?” Jolly asked.
“To see Y/N.”
“Why?” Jolly stopped playing, placing the guitar across the bedsheets.
It's been twenty long years I've cried, but not enough tears I've become the sum of all my fears (I feel scared, so scared)
I stared at him blankly, the cogs within my mind turning to find an answer themselves. Why was I going to see her? Why did I care that I made it for when she got off work at the cafe? Something about her was magnetizing, and I couldn’t help but crave more. I wanted to explore her mind and body; to know her in every way possible.
I don’t have time to think of someone like her; I don’t deserve to think of someone like her.
I have a job to do.
But I don’t care.
“I don’t know,” I turned to look at him with my hand on the doorknob.
Jolly’s eyes watched back quizzically, “I think you should leave her out of this. Break it off now.”
I furrowed my brows, “There’s nothing to break off.”
Jolly gave me a curt laugh, “Yea, which is why you fucked in the bathroom yesterday. Nothing to break off.”
My face warmed, unsure of how he knew. I didn’t think it was obvious.
“She seems like a nice girl. You wouldn’t want to get her killed,” Jolly warned. He wasn’t wrong. This line of business wasn’t exactly safe, and I knew I shouldn’t get Y/N involved.
“She already knows too much,” I said, avoiding his eyes as I stared at the floor.
“Det är inte riktigt rätt möblerat på övervåningen hos dig.” Jolly groaned, rubbing his eyes with his palm. Your top floor is not properly furnished (Mind is a mess).
I rolled my eyes, “Oh don’t bring out the Swedish insults you asshat.”
“Well, I suggest you break her heart now before it’s too late.”
I bit my lip as I opened the door, ignoring his burning words.
“Din jävla fubbick,” I heard the swede mutter before I shut the door. You damn moron.
Guilt washed over my body as I took long strides through the motel parking lot, my mind spiralling and my palms sweating. What am I doing?
Jolly was right; Y/N shouldn’t be mixed up in this; but part of me yearned for her. I haven’t had someone willing to listen to my thoughts for years. I’ve never had anyone else to relate to other than my brothers.
I wanted to share everything about me and learn everything about her, and she felt safe to do so. She was also wildly gorgeous; her e/c eyes glimmered with so much hope, something I aspired to have one day. Maybe I could even share with her. Hope.
You gave me a strength unparalleled But nothing compared to how much I've bled (I feel scared, so scared)
Y/N
He hasn’t shown up for his coffee again today. Did he regret what happened last night?
I swept between the tables and recalled the previous events. I don’t even know what came over me yesterday, but I do know that I didn’t have any regrets.
I knew my face began to warm as I recalled the way Noah’s fingers dug into my hips, gripping onto me as he pounded into me mercilessly; drowning his sorrows through the pleasure of our bodies.
I couldn’t stop thinking about the way he stared into me, aching with fervour and hunger, begging me to give everything to him.
I wanna know what it feels like Is it nothing but dreamlike? I wanna touch you now
It was anything but romantic- having a quick fuck in the bathroom of a bar, but I longed for Noah even more after that.
I feel like I’m going crazy. How could he have such a hold over me, especially after finding out he is a criminal? I should be running; so why can’t I let him go?
Lust? Infatuation? Whatever it is, I crave him.
I pushed away my thoughts, finishing the rest of my closing tasks and clocking out. I waved to Annika as I pulled my hoodie over my head, grabbing my bag and de-tangling my earbuds.
As I walked out the door a hand immediately grabbed my own, pulling me towards them. A light squeal of surprise left my lips as he pulled me into his body, giving me a side hug.
“Noah?” I looked up to see a small smile dancing across the man’s lips as he towered over me. My eyes travelled across his neck tattoo, marvelling at its glory before trailing across his face in awe, my heart hammering once again.
His dancing eyes smiled as he wrapped his other arm around me, embracing me fully. I couldn’t help but grin as my face smushed into his chest, inhaling his scent; instantly comforted.
How can it feel so right? It is nothing but dreamlike I'm gonna touch you now
“You came,” I said, surprising myself. The way Noah’s cage felt immensely protective and serene as he embedded me into his chest, left my pulse pounding with elation.
“I wanted to be here for when you got off work,” He said, squeezing me gently before letting go. “Do you want to do something before your next shift?”
I gave him a cheeky grin, “Something?”
Noah licked his lips before matching my smile, putting his finger through the belt loop of my jeans, and tugging me along beside him as we walked down the sidewalk. I flushed at the gesture as he held me next to him as if claiming me for his own.
“I meant like, dinner,” He hummed, “but I also can’t stop thinking about last night.”
“Come Y/N,” he had said between sucking and squeezing my hips, “be a good girl for me.”
A shudder ran down my spine as my mind wandered, and I peered up at Noah, his cheeks flushing through his confession.
“Me too,” I said softly, “Did you want to come back to my place? We could order takeout… because I need to get my clothes for my next shift.”
“I’d like that,” Noah peered down at me warmly.
We walked together in silence, the only sound the bustle of life that surrounded the sidewalk as we passed various shops, heading towards my neighbourhood. For “level two acquaintances” the silence between the two of us was soothing, something that I think shocked us both.
Noah let go of my belt loop, shoving his hands inside of his pockets. I looked over at him, his expression filled with thought and worry, something eating him alive.
“Did you want to talk about it?” I asked gently, looking ahead as the light breeze slid past my cheeks.
Noah was quiet, eyes darting back and forth, “I trust you so much, and I don’t know why.”
I nodded, agreeing with his concern silently, letting him continue.
“and I don’t know who else to talk to about this with…my brothers are too involved and have enough opinions as it is,” Noah said, following me down the path that led us towards my house.
“Remember how I told you we owe a lot of money to this… guy? Well, this month is supposed to be our last month, and then we are finally free.”
I smiled widely, grabbing Noah’s arm in excitement, shaking him gently, “That’s great news! You’ll be done with it forever!”
Noah chuckled darkly, rolling his head to the side in annoyance, “Yeah, well, there’s a catch.”
My grip on his arm fell, a sullen expression taking over my joy.
“I have to get him twenty thousand, myself. The boys can’t help me.”
“Twenty thousand?” I exclaimed, stopping in my tracks to look at him, “That’s a shit ton of money.”
Noah’s hand ran across his face in frustration, pinching the bridge of his nose, “I know. I am beyond fucked.”
I blinked a few times in disbelief as we approached the steps to my house, the greeting of Juice’s trill on the other side of the door inviting us in. Noah was immediately bombarded with cat love and he gave the furry animal a small smile, bending down to scratch the top of his head before running his fingers down Juice’s back.
Closing the door I kicked off my sneakers, hanging my bag on the coat rack. Noah followed, placing his black vans politely by the front door; which was when I noticed a small anklet blinking beneath the hem of his pants.
I stared at it quizzically, and Noah caught my gaze. He lifted his leg, mouth forming a tight line.
“Like my new accessory?” Anger seethed from his tongue as he gave me a sarcastic smile, before standing in front of me, completely defeated.
I led us upstairs into my bedroom, “What is it?”
“A tracker.”
I stopped at the top, turning around to look at him, “What do you mean a tracker?” I watched his ankle with cautious eyes, flickering between Noah and the device.
He sighed heavily as I turned back around, opening my bedroom door. Noah immediately flopped onto my bed, inviting himself to lay on his back as he spread his limbs out, “The guy’s name is D, the one we owe. He said that to make sure I wasn’t getting the boys’ help with the money, we all need to wear these fucking trackers. I also need to keep a log of where the money comes from so it matches up with my location, and deposit it each week.”
“And this all happened last night?”
He nodded, and I watched as Noah’s eyes squeezed shut in frustration, tears pricking them. I stood next to the bed, watching for a moment as his chest heaved, crumbling before me. I then crawled next to him, sitting up as he rolled over. He placed his head onto my lap, holding himself against my thighs as silent tears cascaded down his cheeks.
“I…I’m barely holding on,” He whispered.
My fingers began running through Noah’s scalp, lacing themselves through his chestnut strands in an attempt to soothe him, showing my support. I hear you.
My heart yearned for him once again, filled with sorrow and pain as he suffered in torment, dealing with the burden of his demons. Noah didn’t deserve this. He was young when he fucked up, and he hasn’t been able to escape. I saw myself within his pain, my past mirroring back at me.
“I just keep hoping that one day I’ll have something else motivating me- something more than fear, more than spite. I wanna feel like I’m living.”
I listened to Noah’s words as they resonated with me. I too, wanted to feel like I was living.
I had never been part of the right crowd, and I was always getting into trouble, due to the influence of my previous relationships. I followed their shenanigans because I had nobody else to model- and I made some poor choices. I chose to follow them.
However, I also chose to leave- to start fresh and to forget about my past. People can change, and people can grow, and Noah deserved the same opportunity. He was being puppeteered by an evil man; and I wanted to help him escape, as much as he wanted his freedom.
I chewed my cheek in contemplation, fingers still stroking his hair, “let me help you, Noah.”
“Help with what?”
“The money. You don’t deserve to do it alone.”
Noah sat up now, watching me intensely from across the bed, “You’ve built yourself a new life Y/N. Don’t fuck it up now.”
He was right. Why was I willing to risk it all?
“I’ve been willing to fuck it up the second I saw you at the cafe,” I traced his face, analyzing his expression before my mind wandered to an idea; one so insane I couldn't even believe I was about to suggest this.
“I’m going to sound crazy, and I can’t believe I’m going to say this,” I hesitated for a moment, sucking in a breath between my teeth, “but why don't you come live with me? You and your brothers?”
Noah’s eyes widened, lips parting slightly in perplexity. He blinked a few times, and I continued my thought.
“You won’t need to pay rent or anything, so you guys can save money to pay this D guy faster. The motel money probably adds up.”
Noah slid off the bed, standing up abruptly, folding his arms over his body in defence, “You cannot be serious,” he laughed with incredulity.
“Listen, Noah,” I scooted to sit on the edge of the bed, looking up at him, “I was stuck for a long time, and I didn’t have a helping hand… but I have enough to offer you. I know what it’s like to struggle.”
Noah’s fingers ran through his hair as he began pacing, shaking his head, “I don’t need your pity Y/N.”
“This isn’t pity, I swear,” I stood up, approaching Noah gently, holding both of his biceps to keep him in place from his anxious wading, “I wished someone had helped me when I needed it.”
He stared down at me in complete disbelief, his eyes scanning mine for any signs of doubt; but I remained confident in my suggestion, staring at him assuringly.
“so let me help you,” I whispered, reaching up to place a gentle hand on his cheek. With a racing heart, I rubbed my thumb across his skin, bewildered at my words.
He closed his eyes in conflict and placed a hand on top of my own, clammy and nervous.
“Why are you helping a monster?” Noah breathed, leaning into my touch, curious eyes observing me.
“Everyone deserves help. You deserve it.”
What are we allowed to do? What are we allowed to be?
“You’re not a monster Noah,” placing a hand on his other cheek, I stood on my tiptoes, pulling him down towards me, kissing the tip of his nose delicately.
I wanna cross the line with you Let's pass the point of no return
Noah watched me with pure awe, matching me by grabbing either side of my face, and placing his forehead on my own, “You are fucking crazy.”
Is this wrong? I don't wanna know A big mistake? I don't wanna know
I chuckled softly, “I completely agree with you, I think I am insane for offering this.”
I wanna know what it feels like Is it nothing but dreamlike? I wanna touch you now
Noah laughed quietly with me, still in complete doubt. His eyes kept trailing between my own and my lips, as if trying not to kiss me, before giving in.
How can it feel so right? It is nothing but dreamlike I'm gonna touch you now
Noah’s lips kissed me tenderly as he held my face, and I melted into his touch. With each greeting of our lips, the kiss became harder and deeper, the emotion transferring from him to me; radiating between us.
We remained standing, holding each other intimately for a few more moments before Noah pulled away. He rested his forehead against mine once again, brushing his thumb across my lips as his eyes peered into mine longingly.
“I’m sorry, not sorry for breaking into your house; because otherwise, we wouldn’t be here,” Noah said.
“I forgive you, clearly,” I laughed, “but you could always try to make it up to me again if you feel like it?”
Noah let out a puff of air, hands running down my neck along my curves, resting at the top of my hips, “I like that idea.”
I grinned at him, my hands resting at the back of his tattooed neck, the apple and snake teasing me.
Noah leaned towards my ear, warm breath tickling my skin, “I’m craving the way you taste- and I’ve only tasted you once.”
I hummed as he kissed me hungrily again, letting out a sigh of relief. Our heads tilted slowly as they switched from left to right, sharing open-mouth kisses, and devouring each other.
Noah rubbed his hips into my own, a soft moan trailing from my throat. As much as I wanted to continue, I knew I had to go to work soon.
I pushed his chest gently, “It’s already 6… I need to leave for work in half an hour.”
Noah gave me a sly smile, “You underestimating my skills?”
I chuckled, “Not at all.”
“I bet I could make you come in two minutes,” His fingers trailed up the sides of my torso, fingers tracing circles across the skin.
I hummed, “what do I get if you can’t?”
Noah leaned towards my ear, fingers squeezing right below my chest, “then I’ll fuck you so hard you won’t be able to walk, and you’ll come again.”
My body shivered from his words, and my stomach began to swirl with excitement as Noah’s hands worshiped my body, whispering lustful promises as he peppered kisses down my neck. Noah peeked over at the clock on my nightstand briefly.
“6:04.”
My eyes fluttered shut as the pace of my breathing picked up, Noah leading us towards the wall. My back hit the surface as he pushed his body against mine, heat radiating off of him.
Noah’s hand gripped my wrists as he lifted them above my head, holding me captive as his other trailed down my waistline toward my desire.
I succumbed to Noah’s touch as his touch slid through me, circling and prodding. Whatever he was doing left me completely giving in to his caress; the fact both of us were still completely clothed made this moment that much more invigorating.
Noah’s teeth hooked on my bottom lip as he ravaged my mouth. I moaned earnestly as his fingers sank through my slick, curling towards my need. His palm pushed against me, rubbing and maintaining a repetitive pattern, and my legs began to give out. How he could make me surrender with his hand alone had me flustered.
(I'm in a) (I'm in a) (I'm in a) I'm in a, I'm in a dreamlike state
I rutted my hips towards his touch and Noah smiled into my lips, “so needy,” he mumbled.
I sighed eagerly as he continued his method, my body trembling in response, close to my release.
“C’mon princess, you can do it,” Noah muttered, trailing his lips down my neck towards my collarbone, before snagging his teeth on a sensitive spot. He sucked and nibbled at my skin, branding me.
I didn’t even care, exhilaration taking over.
Noah slipped his fingers out, sliding them up until he reached the top, pressing the pad of his fingers and circling them quickly. I shuddered, my body crumbling as I cried out his name.
Can it feel so right? It is nothing but dreamlike I'm gonna touch you now
Noah smiled into me again as his head lay pressed against my neck, satisfied and prideful of his actions.
My chest heaved as I came down from the high, folding off of the wall into his arms. I clutched onto his sweater for support, turning my head to the clock. 6:08
“That was four minutes,” I panted.
“Looks like I owe you,” Noah’s smug smile said it all.
I chuckled, looking up at him, eyes dilated with satisfaction “Oh, what a shame.”
Noah grinned, the whites of his teeth making my heart flutter. He sat on my bed, adjusting himself in his pants before watching me pace around my room, picking out my work clothes.
I opted for leggings and a tight square-cut long sleeve. I took the clothes out of my closet, holding them to my chest before turning around.
“Uh…” I looked at the brunette, his hair cascading down his face perfectly, “Do you uhm, can you turn around?”
Noah choked out a laugh, “huh? you do realize that I’ve seen you like, partially naked? And literally just touched you?”
My face flushed, “Yeah… but still.”
Noah chuckled, obliging as he turned around on the bed to face the wall. I began stripping, pulling my leggings up before changing my shirt. I peered at Noah, noticing his head whip back around.
“Hey!” I laughed, “No peaking!”
Noah turned around once I was dressed, sticking his tongue out playfully, “Whatever do you mean?”
I rolled my eyes as Noah stood up, scratching the back of his neck, “I’d say we’ve at least levelled up to buddies.”
Yea, fuck buddies.
I hummed, “I agree, definitely more than level-two acquaintances.”
Noah nodded at me with a lighthearted glare, “Friends would be going too far right now though.”
“Definitely,” I mimicked his expression before leading us down the stairs. I peered in the mirror that was hung on the wall next to the door, eyes glancing at the hickey forming on the side of my neck. Fuck. Nothing I can do about that now.
“I’m sorry we didn’t get to eat,” I said, “but if you want, you could come to the bar?”
“I’d like that,” Noah bent down to slip on his vans as I put on my black Converse.
I chewed my lip, “Did you want to invite your friends? Maybe talk about the offer?”
Noah stood up, frowning, “Y/N- I couldn’t do that to you.”
“Well, at least ask them, see what they say,” I looked at him with a serious expression, “I wasn’t kidding with the offer. I have the basement finished but unfurnished; and a spare bedroom upstairs. You guys would have your own space.”
Noah stared at the floor, kicking up the side of the carpet nervously, “I mean I’ll talk to them.”
I couldn’t help but smile widely, “Please do. Now lets go or I’ll be late.”
NOAH
Ruffilo, Jolly, Folio and I sat in a booth at Sammy’s, the three of them watching me curiously as I explained the situation.
“She offered us a place to stay for free,” I peeked over at Y/N, stealing a glance as she catered to a few customers. Her H/C hair fell so delicately around her eyes, and my heart fluttered at how genuine and beautiful her smile was as she poured the drink for the woman in front of her. She lit up the room around her, her energy charismatic and incandescent.
“No fucking way we are doing that,” Jolly said, glancing at Y/N briefly before folding his arms, sinking into the leather of the booth.
“I mean,” Nick began, looking between us, “This would help us out a lot Jolly.”
“-and Noah,” Nicholas said, “Like we pay roughly 130 bucks a night. That’s $3,900 we’d save him right there.”
All of us peered over at Y/N, and she lifted her head, giving us all a smile.
“Why would she do that for you? For us? What’s in it for her?” Jolly said, skeptical.
I had no fucking idea why she would, but I was desperate for any amount of help I could get.
I shrugged, “I don’t know.”
She was selfless, enigmatic, and completely sublime.
“How long have you known her?” Nick raised a brow, plucking a fry from the plate in the middle of us.
I winced, “Er, two days?”
Folio’s eyes bulged out of his head as he leaned forward, chest pressed into the table, “Ain’t no fucking way this is real. She has to be getting something out of it.”
Jolly snorted, “yea, his dick.”
I scoffed, rolling my head back dramatically, “Oh fuck off !”
“That giant ass hickey proves it-”
“Oh, can it Jolly, have any of you ever thought that maybe Y/N is just a nice person?” Nicholas defended.
I grabbed a fry, dipping it in some ketchup before taking a bite, “people like us don’t deserve nice people.”
Ruffilo looked at me disappointedly, “Don’t say that. We’ve done some fucked up shit, but how else have we been able to get by?”
“Plus, we can’t help with the money. D doesn’t know Y/N exists, so he wouldn’t suspect the help.” Nick said, and Nicholas nodded in agreement.
I watched the three of them as they gave me a sullen smile, “I’m worried D will be suspicious that our locations will move though; and that it will put her in danger.”
“She must know there’s a risk, considering you filled her in on everything,” Nick took a sip of his beer.
“Why she’s willing to risk everything she’s worked towards beats me,” I said, sighing heavily.
“Worked towards?” Nicholas asked.
The boys waited for me to answer.
She bargains with the world So everything she wants will come to her With no greed inside her mind She knows what she deserves
“She’s been through some fucked up shit I guess, but she saved a bunch of money and moved here to start over her life. She works two jobs almost every day to afford everything,” I looked back at Y/N for a prolonged period, my heart beating quickly, “She just kept telling me she knows what it’s like, and she wished people helped her.”
“So pity?” Jolly gave me a sarcastic smile, nodding rapidly.
“No,” I defended, “she’s just a generous person.”
We remained silent, chewing our food quietly before Jolly spoke.
“Well, I suppose it’s worth a shot,” He said, eying the fries before staring at me, “for Noah.”
“Yeah, but also you guys. She offered it to all of us,” I said.
Nicholas looked over at her warmly, “That’s kind of her. Really kind.”
We fell from sky with grace And landed in her soft and warm embrace She gave her love, her gift of life So we could live with her
I stood up, walking towards the bar, sitting on a stool in front of her. She nodded to another customer before smiling at me, waltzing over.
“So?” She bit her lip, almost looking hopeful.
I picked at the resin counter, my nail grinding within a divot in the material as I distracted myself from her, “How early can we move in?”
“Tonight if you want.”
Y/N and I shared a look before I nodded, giving a gentle laugh, “Okay. Want to meet your new roommates? Considering you haven’t even met the guys you offered your entire life to.”
Y/N laughed, “yea. I’m realizing how crazy I sound the more realistic this becomes.”
I motioned for the boys to come over and they did, each with a beer in their hand, sitting on either side of me along the counter.
Y/N gave them a sunny grin, introducing herself.
“It’s nice to see you again,” Nicholas said politely.
“You as well,” she nodded, before looking at Folio.
“I’m Nick, Nick folio,” He held out his hand, wrapping around her own and shaking.
She then moved to Jolly, who gave her a curt smile. Although he was stand-off-ish, she greeted him warmly.
“Joakim, but call me Jolly,”
“So, tonight?” I eyed everyone, who all turned to look at Y/N.
She shrugged, “I’m off at midnight. I can help take stuff over.”
“Well, we don’t exactly have a lot. We can probably take everything in two trips,” Nick said.
“I can help, I’ll meet you guys at the motel.”
+++++
We packed everything into our backpacks and suitcases, and my chest tightened at the realization we would be leaving our ‘home’ of the last few years.
“This is crazy,” Nick shook his head as he played Tetris with our belongings, organizing them within our van.
“You gotta admit,” Nicholas began as he carried out the old guitars with Jolly, “It will be nice to be in an actual house for a while.”
“Good point,” Jolly mumbled, “But I’m still suspicious.”
That is why we live like heathens Stealing from the trees of Eden
Y/N made it over around 12:30, and we packed her car full as well; not that there was much room considering how small it is.
All of us stood outside the motel, part of us grieving for departing what we’ve always known; the other relishing in gratitude for this new opportunity.
Y/N placed a hand on my shoulder as I stared at the motel door plaintively.
Living in the arms of freedom And everything we touch is evil That is why we live like heathens
I gave her a sorrowful smile before nodding at my brothers, “Y/N will lead the way.”
I sat in the passenger seat of Y/N’s car, staring out the window as we drove past the buildings towards her neighbourhood; our new home.
I couldn’t believe this was happening. This woman was a complete gift, the strings of fate leaving me confounded yet wonderstruck.
Once we arrived and went inside, Juice greeted the boys, and each of them immediately fell in love with the orange fur ball. Y/N toured everyone around before leading us down to the basement. As Y/N mentioned it was unfurnished, but had a full bathroom. The only items around were a rack of guitars in pristine condition and a few cardboard boxes.
“Holy shit- is that a Martin D-41?” Jolly immediately smiled, walking over to assess the guitars, “and an Ernie Ball Music Man John Petrucci Majesty?”
“Damn, and a Gibson Thunderbird IV Bass?” Ruffilo joined in on the geek-sesh, both of them giddy.
Y/N laughed, “Wow, you must know your stuff. Those were my dads, he was really into music.”
She walked over, grazing her fingers across the strings, “I’ve kept them in his memory, but I have no idea how to play.”
I watched her as she picked up the Martin, handing it to Jolly, “feel free to use them whenever you want; they deserve some love, they were made to be played.”
Jolly’s lips fell open before he smiled warmly, gazing at the guitar, “You’re so fucking cool.”
We all chuckled and I watched Y/N in awe as she interacted with my brothers, taking them in and treating them as if she’d known us all for years.
The stone, the dirt, the dust The unforgiving promise made to us Unworthy of your light, your god, your touch We're guided by the lust
“I only have one blow-up mattress I take camping, but there is a bed in the spare room, and the couch in the living room…” She looked between the four of us until her eyes landed on me.
“Uh,” Her cheeks flushed as she spoke, “we can always share my bed tonight until I can pick up a couple of mattresses…”
We cry the fallen names We cry for those who burned beneath the flame We stand besides the good and brave The broken and enslaved
My face warmed along with her and I coughed, straightening up, “Yeah, no worries.”
The boys watched us, a low chuckle leaving Folio. Y/N grabbed spare blankets, pillows and the blow-up mattress from the closet. She set up the bed, which Jolly dibsed. Nick took the couch, and Nicholas took the spare room down the hall from Y/N’s.
Y/N and I went into her room and she shut the door quietly, turning around, sighing.
“Well,” she blew out a puff of air, giving me a kind smile, “this is interesting.”
I nodded, following her with my eyes as she began getting ready for bed, brushing her H/C hair, and wiping off her makeup for the day. I admired her beauty, staring at her with reverence. She was brilliant.
“I-I can sleep on the floor Y/N. I don’t mind,” I whispered as she slid an oversized t-shirt over her frame, stripping off her work attire.
I licked my lips, swallowing harshly before averting my eyes, reminding myself that now was not the time to get worked up. She had to be at the cafe in a few hours.
Juice purred as he curled into a bed next to her windowsill, eying us from the corner.
Y/N turned off her main light, flicking on a dim lamp that cascaded a soft orange aura across the room before she crawled into bed, opening the covers and patting next to her.
“You can sleep with me, it’s okay.”
I shifted on my feet nervously, tossing my hoodie over my head and placing it neatly over the chair of her vanity, along with my jeans.
Hours ago I was pinning her against the wall, devouring her body in complete confidence. Why was I suddenly so shy? Why did this feel so much more intimate than sex?
Her love is yours But only if you give your heart to her
I walked over to her, sliding myself between her covers as I lay as close to the edge as possible.
“Oh, I almost forgot,” She mumbled, jumping out of bed and leaving to the bathroom, returning shortly with a bottle of pills and a cup of water.
She opened the bottle, turned around and placed one on her tongue before taking a swig of water. I watched as she placed her pills on her desk, before hopping back into bed.
That is why we live like heathens Stealing from the trees of Eden Living in the arms of freedom And everything we touch is evil
She crawled underneath the covers, snuggling into the duvet as she lay on her side, facing me.
We remained silent for a few moments before she asked me a question in a small voice, “Is it ok if the light stays on?”
I preferred the lights off, but I wasn’t going to share my preference; I was already invading her space.
“I have trouble sleeping,” She whispered vulnerably.
“Of course,” I said, pulling the covers over my shoulders.
“Okay,” her eyes fluttered open and closed, fighting against sleep, “goodnight Noah.”
I watched as her lashes touched the tops of her cheeks, her eyebrows releasing tension from the day, lips parted gently as sleep took over.
My eyes danced across her features, completely captivated. Y/N breathed slowly, and my hand subconsciously reached over, tucking a strand of loose hair behind her ear as I endeared over her.
“you’re my saving grace,” I whispered as I stroked her hair, still completely baffled this was all happening.
I watched her for a moment longer before I turned over, facing the door and her desk. My eyes trailed over to the bottle that rested on her desk, the yellow plastic alluring. Zolpidem. 700 dollars right there.
Destruction. Crime. Greed.
That is why we live like heathens That is why we live like heathens That is why we live like heathens
He was annoyed. At least that’s what it seemed to be to Neytiri.
 A certain aggressiveness to his movements while he used his knife to sharpen the point of his arrow, his arms flexing more than usual. His eyes stayed fixed on something causing a sharpness to be held within them. Neytiri watched her “mate” from afar, his frustration now leaking out of him and into her. Eyes slowly followed his line of vision falling upon a soon-to-be-mated pair.
You and Tsu’tey.
Seeing the two interact with each other always made her suspicions rise. The both of you never spoke to one another, yet now you two were destined to be mated. Tsu’tey was a hunter, you a tsahik. Both of you served in different social groups, not once interacting with each other, not even a glance. None of it made sense. It all happened too fast. Too sudden. She often pushed her personal feelings aside deeming it was not her place to have a voice in the matter, though this was a struggle to contain as she watched her “mate” continuously be irritated by their presence. Perhaps something happened with Tsu’tey? She thought. Jake and Tsu’tey often hunted in the same party, looking back the two had a rough introduction to each other, so a quarrel happening between the two wasn’t too alarming.
Gently she placed her knife down next to the leaf she used to cut up some fruit for dinner later on, she let out a puff of air rising from her seat making her way towards the man who she swore had steam radiating off of him from how much he was fuming.
“They are lovely aren’t they?” her voice snapping his head towards her, eyes wide. A giggle bubbled up seeing his reaction, though she covered her mouth quick enough to suppress its escape. His face relaxed, only for a second though as his previous frustrated expression soon after. Head looking back down at the work of his arrow, bringing a finger up to the point and testing the sharpness of it.  “Yeah. I’m happy for them,” he grunted out, his frustration no longer trying to be masked. He was not happy. Not even a little. He actually hated–no despised the new couple.
Loud laughter rang out just loud enough for him to hear, pushing his ears back toward the sound. You were laughing. Quickly he took a chance to catch a glimpse of you, you had tears in your half-closed eyes, your hand resting on Tsu’tey’s arm for support as you hunched over laughing at whatever he just told you. Jake held his breath briefly behind pursed lips to steel himself against the glee of your laughter. He fought the strong urge to go over to you and take you away from him, he wanted you to laugh at him like that. Only him. He had to do something about this and he had to do it quickly. Now. Before, he lost you for good. Except he found himself glued to his seat, his body refusing to move. His heart told him to go, but his brain kept him in place.
“You wish to speak with her don’t you?” Sighing Jake closed his eyes leaning forwards, resting his arms on his legs.
“If she doesn’t want to speak to me, that’s fine. She doesn’t have to” A pair of soft hands clasped themselves around his making his eyes slowly open, his eyes meet a pair of delicate ones filled with so much reassurance.
“You are wrong. So very wrong.” His eyebrows bunched together in confusion at her statement. Her face wore a smile that he couldn’t quite comprehend.
“You need to make amends. Talk to her before it is too late. You may not get this chance again.”
Slowly he straighten his posture, his hands still residing with her own, his face jumbled together. Where was this coming from? Could she be hinting at a particular feeling he has tried so hard to subside during their time together? Did he really make it that obvious? She continued.
“That night. I heard you two. I followed her, my curiosity getting the best of me. To my surprise, I found you with her trying to console her, comfort her, treasure her. It was clear to me then…and even now.” Reaching up she rested one of her hands upon his cheek, her thumb rubbing soothingly across the bone of his cheek, her smile never dropping nor changing.
“You were made for her, not me. I cannot take you away from her. I will not. All I ask and wish for my sister is happiness, her happiness is mine…and you Jake Sully,” she paused, bringing her other hand to the other side of his face, her hands now fully holding his face.
“Are her happiness. Our happiness.”
~~~~
He tossed and turned, seemingly not able to get comfortable quickly as he usually did. Everyone was already fast asleep, including Neytiri that rested beside him in their shared hammock. Her chest rising and falling slowly with every breath she took contentment resting in her face, she looked…peaceful. Her words from earlier filled his head, much so causing his restlessness.
“You Jake Sully are her happiness. Our happiness.”
Her words confused him, yet at the same time, they made so much sense. She was giving her blessing to him. But why? He was her “mate” – well soon to be. The two never quite found the time nor the need for it to happen. They were simply going along with the punchline for her mother. Putting on a show if he would describe it as such, though that’s very much so of what it was. His heart had belonged to you and always you. Though, your mother deemed you were not fit for the role to be the mate of Toruk Makto. It angered him seeing the way your mother treated you at times as if you didn’t have a mind or even a conscious of your own. He knew your mother loved you deeply he just thought she had one hell of a way of showing it.
Carefully he swung his body out of the hammock, moving and stepping as quite as possible watchful enough to not move too much to prevent waking Neytiri. Successfully, he made his way out of their–the shared hut taking a route he knew too well seeing he’d always go here on sleepless nights like this one.
Pushing plants and leaves out of his face as he passed through he could hear the splashing of water along with the smell of crispy water, a smile slowly creeping up on his face. Pushing more leaves out of the way he made his way toward the small pond picking up a little speed on the way. The abrupt softness under his foot stopped him in his tracks, glancing down he noticed a loincloth and familiar teal beaded top, his heart sped up as he recognized who this belonged to. The sound of humming broke him away from the clothes, his eyes being directed to the sound as if he was being enchanted and put under a spell, quietly he tucked himself behind a rather large leaf.
There you were. The moon shined perfectly on you. Water glistening on your skin making it look softer than ever. Your hair was wet and slicked back while you occupied yourself with your humming, eyes closed and the most beautiful smile on your face. He felt the air being sucked out of him the more he watched you, you were so ethereal looking. Too heavenly to be real. He was snapped out of his trance to the sound of gasping, his heart picking up pace for a different reason now. He was caught. Almost instantly you covered yourself, sinking deeper into the water your face just above the water.
“What are you doing here?” You shrieked. He opened and closed his mouth probably resembling a fish out of water gasping for air as he struggled to find a correct explanation for her. Instead, he just slapped a hand over his eyes while his other hand held out in front of him as he slowly emerged from behind the leaf.
“I didn’t see anything, I swear.” He was nervous, so nervous he could feel himself sweating. Hearing the splashing and crashing of the water he assumed you were getting out and waited a few more seconds before peeking through his fingers to see you in front of him tying the knot back on your loincloth. Removing his hand from his face he watched as you readjusted your clothing back on your body, your hair falling alluringly in front of your face. His hand itched to fix it though he refrained curling it into a ball at his side.
“Announce yourself next time. The water is all yours now.” You were quick to walk away from him, a pang running through his chest as you refused to look at him as you spoke rather coldly to him. His body moved before his mind could comprehend what he was doing. You came to an abrupt stop, his body now blocking your path huffing you crossed your arms over your damped chest.
“Out of the way.”He stood frozen. Your face grew irritated more and more by the second.
“I said out of my way, Sully. I must  leave before Tsu’tey grows suspicious of my absence.”
“I can’t let you do that.” He finally breathed out, his nerves now all jumbled up.
“Why not?” The annoyance in your face twisted something in his chest. You were never this cold towards him, though he couldn’t blame you for it. This was all his fault.
“I need–I want to talk about…about us.”
He watched the cold demeanor on your face break a little, but it quickly covered your face again except now it was colder than before. You scoffed looking at him in disbelief.
“What are you talking about? There is no us Jake. There never has been. So, there is nothing for us to discuss.” Again you tried to make your way around him but again you were caught.
He wasn’t letting you go that easily. He needed something to keep you here with him, he needed to tell you the truth. Biting his lip he cursed at himself for what was about to come out of his mouth.
“I love you.”
Silence.
You stood there in front of him your back towards him, your feet glued to the soft grass where you two stood. Your heart paced fast, too fast it felt like it would explode out of your chest. He felt the same except his heart paced out of worry, fear that you had gotten over your feelings and that he was a little too late. Little by little you turned yourself around to face him, his eyes frantic and desperate for you to say something. Anything.
“What?” You exhaled out a shaky breath, your vision becoming blurry.
“I said that I love you.” His voice was more serious now. Straightening up his posture he poked out his chest a little to show his seriousness. Your small frame coward shoulders slumped and your breathing became ragged. It felt like that night all over again and it was becoming too much for you.
“You do not mean that. You are saying these words to me to make things right. I will not fall for it this time Jake.” You sucked in a sharp breath as you felt a sob getting ready to rip through you and out of your mouth. “I cannot let you do this to me again.”
“I am happy. The happiest I have ever been. Tsu’Tey has taught me what love should and should not be. He–He has taught me that I need to love myself before I can give all my love to you.” You shook. Hard. You were crumbling right before him and all he wanted to do was hold you and tell you everything would be okay and that they’ll work through it. He slowly lifted his hands to your face that rested in a downward position, cupping your face in his hands he rose your face to his. His mouth suddenly became dry when your eyes reflected the same expression you held all those night ago. You didn’t fight him you didn’t have the energy to nor did you want to. You wanted to believe what he was saying was true, though there was a part of you that didn’t trust a word he spoke to you.
“Then let me help you. Let me be the one who helps you find that love for yourself to share. With me.”
“I–I do not understand.” Your voice was laced with sadness but also confusion.
He had run out of options. There was not a single thought in his mind that he could cook up and serve to you in words, his mouth nor brain would allow it. Hs tongue retracted outwards coating his dried lips with a layer of saliva, his eyes danced between yours and your lips. He wanted to stop himself for what he was about to do, in respect for you and Tsu’Tey’s relationship but in all honesty? He couldn’t care less.
His body leans in, so carefully. Breathing and no breathing could be heard between the two of you as he grew closer and closer to you until his lips were ghosting over your own. He paused for a moment waiting to see if you would push him away from you or pull yourself away, but you didn’t. Your own breathing had slowed down your eyes watching his lips now as you could feel his breath among them. He was so close you could barely feel your legs anymore or your fingers, not even the slight chill of the night that blew around the both of you because all you felt was him, everywhere, filling everything around you. He whispers,
“Please.”
“Please don’t hate me for this.” Pushing his head a bit further, he felt his lips finally connect with your own. Your lips are softer than anything he has ever known, soft like a first snowfall, or biting into cotton candy that melted away by the slightest touch. You tasted sweet. So effortlessly sweet.
This was the only thing that mattered.
This.
You.
Your petite body pressed against his and your arms found their way to his neck wrapping them to pull him even closer into the embrace. Your lips danced feverishly together as if you two were starving for each other, and without a doubt you two were. His hands dropped from your face sliding their way down your body, his fingers brushing lightly against the curves of your hips sending a small shiver down your spine. Swiftly he hooked the back of your legs wrapping it around his torso, carefully sinking you both to the ground with you straddling him. Breaking for air, he headed for his next destination. His kisses felt like fire against your skin, the way his lips pecked and nibbled on the skin residing between your neck and collarbone sent your mind into a whirlpool.
“Jake…” you puffed out, your lungs no longer working at the moment. Your voice seemed to fall on deaf ears as he continued his assault on you. Holding the small of your back he rested a hand behind your head as he laid you softly on the grass, his new position in between your legs now. His lips found yours again except this time he was more desperate. His lips moved now rather harshly against your sucking and biting at them to get your gasp out his name, his thoughts running wild as you did so.
Once again you two broke away for air heavily panting as you both observed each other. You underneath him with messy hair and slightly swollen lips and him above you with eyes hazing over. Your eyes reflected loving eyes, showing him they are the door to his own soul. Touching him with those gentle hands, not as clay, but as if his body were reborn in its most perfect form. And so, in this love there runs a deep gratitude, a sense that what is given is sacred and transient, passing in time into the eternal cycles of living.
You wore a smile on your face, a smile that was finally for him, your hand cupping his face and gently rubbing your thumb soothingly across it. Instinctively, he leaned in your touch.
“I–see you…jake.”
He felt a wide grin spread across his face as his stomach did a flip after  flip.
“And I see you, y/n.”
~~~~~
The two of you walked back hand in hand, both faces wearing a smile. The sun now rising spreading across the forest, waking a few up in the process.
“So what are you going to tell my sister?” Awkwardly Jake scratched the back of his neck.
“Well, she was the one who pushed me to do this. But, I’m glad I did because if not I would’ve lost you to Tsu’Tey.”  The comment earned a small laugh from the girl beside him tweaking confusion from him.
“I and Tsu’Tey were never going to mate. We were following my mother’s request, neither of us were interested in the other.”
He was relieved, relieved that you and Tsu’Tey were never mated, and also relieved that he could be the one to mate you, just like he had planned.
“So? Does this mean I can be your mate?” You stepped in front of him, locking your fingers together and smiling beamingly up at him.
“It seems Eywa has deemed you so. Jake Sully.”
His smile mirrored your own before he swiftly captured your lips with his own once again, silently thanking their great mother. After all,
Eywa makes no mistakes.
A/N: I almost put this on my other blog but fuck it I don’t consider this too The Other Kink to not post. Me love thick men thanks @lovelykhaleesiii for the plot ideas
Aegon came back to the throne skinny, sickly, and surly. He was irritated from the shattered bones and having to rule over an even more shattered kingdom he never wanted in the first place.
You were his new wife, married quickly after he had returned. Aegon liked having you around, requesting you stay by his side at all times. The Dowager seemed to be annoyed as she couldn’t get her son alone to debate how to navigate the still burning coals of war.
You tried to get to know him better, idly chatting away as he drank strongwine. Aegon hollowly stared at you one day and said, “I have nothing to talk about, I like listening to you.” So you had to start bringing books in for entertainment. But the feeling of something missing was in the back of your mind.
Staring at a painting of Aegon on his coronation day brought forth what.
The young king in that photo was robust, handsome, and definitely well fed. You couldn’t do anything about the scars…but maybe some flesh on his bones would help with aches and pains. The Targaryen rarely ate, preferring to drink or sip on soup.
So at your nightly private dinner you ordered the servants to bring heavier options, meats and sweets, bread and pudding. Aegon eyes widened and he grumbled, “I can’t possibly eat that.” You moved to the seat closest to him and prodded, “Why not? You look like a wandering septon.”
Violet eyes turned up at you. He stared at the feast and his mouth twisted slightly. Aegon bitterly remarked, “Because that’s what the Maester told me. Gods, I’m a buffoon. They just want me weak and drunk all the time!” He threw his hands up in anger, cursing himself.
You smiled sweetly, forking a piece of ham to his still frowning mouth, “Eat up then, this will make you stronger.” Aegon opened and took a generous bite, moaning around the flavor. You hummed, “Good. You’ll be feeling better in no time, my lord husband. Show them how wrong they were.”
It was off to the races by that exact moment. Aegon’s notorious appetite of his youth had returned, ten-fold. He requested large feasts for every meal, even beginning to invite some of the lords milling around the place to break up their plotting.
Aegon would often be exhausted after a particularly long day, forcing himself around on that cane in the Keep. He’d plop down in a comfortable chair and you’d hand feed him, cooing, “You’ve worked so hard today, just let me take care of you.”
He would sigh, “You’re too good to me.”
You’d happily do this every second if it got him to smile, that rare, beautiful smile. He’d relax and drink and eat, opening diligently for whatever he dictated you’d bring to his mouth. You didn’t know if you loved him yet, but this made you feel very…warm inside.
You were doing needlepoint next to Aegon, who watched the Blackwater wistfully. He munched on some honey cakes and grapes, having developed a habit for keeping his mouth occupied. You had a feeling the morsels kept him grounded from whatever hellish memories kept the king up at night.
The Dowager Queen entered the chambers, stiff and dressed in black. A new Kingsguard stood behind her, aloof as ever. She delicately perched on a seat, staring at you two. Aegon grumbled, “What is it mother? More spies under the keep? Cregan Stark is on the spires?”
Her pretty mouth thinned, looking so much like Aegon. Alicent wrung her hands together and said, “No, nothing of that sort. I wanted to say you look healthier. Maybe the Maester could check your, ahem, potency soon.” Aegon dramatically groaned around a lemon cake, “Always an ulterior motive, yes! In front of my darling wife.”
You stated, “I do not wish to injure him trying to copulate. I feel this is a private matter between the Maester and us, My Queen.”
She huffed, “Do please meet with them soon, we need an heir.”
Poor Jaehaera was scarcely considered, the child strange and gloomy. Aegon tried his best, the girl often climbing into your shared bed weeping, your husband trying to console her. She was shy of you, but had warmed up some when the princess saw you make Aegon laugh.
After Alicent had left Aegon shoved another lemon cake down his throat. He murmured between smacks, “I don’t trust the gods damned maesters. Not one.” You grabbed his scarred hand and promised, “I’ll be right there with you. I- I’d love to have a child of yours, if the gods allow for it.”
His violet eyes grew glossy and he rasped, “Fine. We go to them on the morn, my sweet.”
Aegon was flushed and very aggravated in the Grand Maester’s quarters. You knew he was self conscious about the scarring and the withered leg he refused to rid of. A blanket lay over his lap, him looking down sullenly. You sat in a corner of the room, hands folded in your lap.
He’d gained some weight, you’d noticed that now that you saw his pale and scarred flesh in the buff. Where ribs once poked through was a soft layer of padding, a small roll creasing his tummy. His arms were more built from the cane, but you could see a bit of softness. Aegon’s hips had flared out.
Heat settled on your cheeks. Your husband looked very good, soft and sweet. You couldn’t help but imagine how more flesh would sit on his delicate Targaryen bones. The jingling of chains alerted the pair of you, the old Maester shuffling in. You relocated to Aegon’s side, holding a hand. He looked up at you and murmured, “You may not want to see this.”
Hardening your gaze you stated, “You’re my husband, I will cherish every bit of you.”
Your heart fluttered watching the stress dial down across his body. Aegon pulled your palm to his mouth, pressing a soft kiss. Orwyle rasped, “So we need to check on fertility, hm?” Aegon snapped, “Why else would I be here? Obviously she’s not broken and burnt.”
The Maester chuckled softly, used to the King’s outbursts. He murmured, “Lay back, I need to check you.” Aegon reluctantly leaned back, closing his eyes tight as Orwyle pulled back the blanket. You stared at the withered leg, frowning in sadness. His other leg, although still healing, had thickened up slightly.
“I see you’ve been having a healthy appetite again,” he noted.
“Because my darling wife cares about me and my health. My aches have lessened.”
“Mhm. Yes.” Aegon gritted his jaw as his cock and sac was felt and checked. Orwyle noted, “You’re producing sperm, but no copulation. We must get your seed and artificially enter it in the Queen.” You spoke, “Can we do this act in private? Ah- the collection part?”
Orwyle waved a gnarled hand, “Yes, of course, I will have to inseminate you quickly after.”
Awkward visit over, Aegon was struggling on his cane, sitting down on a bench with a huff. You nuzzled into his soft hair, teasing, “Not too bad. I have heard the seed takes better when the woman has had her own release.” The king laughed deeply, “Oh, I’ll take care of you. Make Orwyle cover his ears for a bit.”
You pecked his sweet lips, humming. Your hand skated down to his belly, just slightly straining the fabric that once hung off his frame. With a purr you commented, “You are looking very healthy and handsome my lord.” He looked wide eyed at you, eager for some sort of praise, “You think so?”
“Yes, no longer on death’s doorstep, but we’ve got a long way Hm?”
He agreed heartily, belly rumbling as if on cue. More and more eating processed, Aegon seeming to grow more confident with the extra padding. You made sure your husband didn’t have to lift a finger, feeding and pampering him, washing and helping him dress.
Add the lack of mobility and Aegon’s tendency to travel by litter— the weight had piled on much faster than expected. Far exceeding what that original painting you’d scene. But instead of disgust, you grew aroused at his increasing weight and happier moods.
The first few sessions of ‘collection’ were definitely arousing. You’d grope and knead at fatty flesh, hand running tight strokes around his cock. One session he’d busted his doublet after eating a meal and squirming around your slick fist. You’d quivered and came watching his thick belly poke out between shredded fabric, riding Aegon’s scarred fingers.
One cane turned to two to support his heavier weight. You’d ever heard servants complaining about how heavy the King had gotten. He seemed to not pay any mind nor register any weight.
Tumblr media
Laying in bed together one night, you idly stroked his swollen belly, bloated with mead and meats of all sorts. This was a far cry from the slim layer of fat lining his body. Aegon’s cheeks thickened, jaw softened, chest swollen. You marveled at his fat sides and rapidly growing stomach. And do not get you started on watching his one thigh grow wobbly and thick.
“Should I cut back on the food,?” he asked.
You raised your brows, replying, “Why do you say that my love?”
“Mother said I’ve gotten rotund, that it’s unseemly.”
You frowned and curled tighter into his soft side while humming, “You look good, happy, and so very arousing to me. A king doesn’t need to change for anyone.”
Aegon eyed you, chin settled into his pudge. He raised a brow and asked, “Arousing you say?” You couldn’t help but smirk a little, squeezing that belly you worked so hard on. The blonde laughed, “Little harlot, you like feeding your king don’t you?”
You blushed, caught unaware by Aegon’s blunt statement.
“Well?”
You shifted against him a bit, growing hot under his heavy gaze. In a small voice you spoke, “Oh, you’ve outed me Aeg. I love it, so much. You look so good, properly fat like a king should be. Shouldn’t have to do a damn thing but order the realm.”
He smiled again, cheeks bunching up. Aegon kissed you passionately, hand greedily reaching to your breast, kneading expertly. You moaned into his mouth, shifting to lay half atop of his mass. You pressed onto his belly, making the poor thing wince.
“Sorry, sorry,” you said.
He shook his head and kept kissing you, tongue lapping you up. Your hand crept down his pale belly, passing now faded stripes to get at his cock. Aegon moaned lowly into your mouth at the contact of your hand. You murmured, “Can I taste you tonight my lord? Please?”
Aegon sighed, “Oh fuck, yes, gods.”
You yanked back the covers, exposing Aegon’s plumping cock, fighting hard to stay up against his generous lower belly. Aegon’s hand laid at the nape of your neck possessively, giving it a squeeze. He panted, “C’mon dear, yes, so good to me.”
You grabbed onto the base, lapping at his ruddy head, tonguing the slit eagerly. Aegon moaned and shifted, stuck under his still gurgling belly. Easing your lips you swallowed him down until he was at the back of your throat, bobbing while your hand got the rest. The other hand was massaging his balls.
Aegon moaned your name again, pudgy fingers scrabbling at your neck. He incoherently rambled nonsense, lazily attempting to buck his hips but quitting when you slapped a fleshy hip. You needn’t have your husband upset his fragile bones trying to fuck your throat.
Keeping up an easy pace you savored the moment, soaking up every moan whimper or cry. You pulled back up to pay special attention to his sensitive cockhead, Aegon’s belly rolling as he squirmed. He cried, “Close- fucking seven hells- angel!”
You flicked your tongue across the slit harder, Aegon losing composure and tearing at your locks of hair. You moaned in ecstasy, greedily swallowing down his spend until your husband was whining and pulling you off.
Wiping the back of your mouth you hummed, “Splendid.”
Aegon, catching his breath, panted, “Get over here so I can get my own. Now.”
He didn’t have to ask twice.
Tumblr media
Aegon leant back in his favorite chair by the window overlooking the Blackwater, fingers digging into a bowl of candied sweets. His frame certainly filled out the chair now, heavy sides lipping over the arm rests. You were vibrating with excitement, holding back a smile.
The king stopped his munching to stare at you. He asked, “What’s got you all giddy?” With an excited squeak you moved to lay between his legs, head padded on his stronger one. Aegon’s thick fingers found their way into your hair, scritching idly. He asked again, temper almost on the edge, “Have a jest my lady? C’mon, out with it now.”
Looking up with a beam you chirped, “I’ve missed my moon blood two times now. Orwyle says I am with child!” Aegon’s face was a flurry of emotions— confusion, realization, happiness, then tears. He rasped, “Truly? You are pregnant?” Tears streamed from his pretty eyes, wide with glee.
“Yes, yes!,” you cried.
Aegon grasped at you, pulling you up and closer, an awkward angle but you liked being near to his soft flesh. He kissed you passionately, rambling breathlessly, “Gods be good, I- I can’t believe it.” You nuzzled his nose, warbling, “It’s a miracle. Oh Aegon, I am overjoyed!”
He pulled back, scarred hands holding your face, “We must plan a grand feast, a tourney, something! You’re eating for two now.”
You teased back tearily, “You’ll be eating for three then, yes?”
He rolled his eyes and kissed you again, laughing softly. Maybe the Targaryen’s could rise above the shambles of the realm. This was a new start, a new seed.
Doing Battle
Responding to this ask: Hi I'm wondering if I could request a sirius x reader but grumpy x sunshine BUT reader happens to be the grumpy one and sirius keeps trying to ask her out and gets rejected but it isn’t like “playing hard to get” but “hard to woo” if that makes sense but eventually the grumpy reader embraces the sunshine
A/n: So this kind of took on a life of its own, but I hope you like it. I did my best to keep the characterization in check whilst adhering the grumpy/sunshine trope. Like I said originally this is one of my favorite pairings so write so thank you so much for requesting!! (Side note! I changed my blog name/theme so I hope y'all can still find me, I was formerly Readitandshmeep)
Doing Battle
You weren’t hiding.
You were… finding your peace of mind, that’s all.
Peace of mind was hard to come by these days, ever since Sirius Black had made you the object of his affection.
About two months ago he had decided that he wanted you, and by god was he going to have you. You had no clue where it started, and you could only hope that it was going to end soon.
The particular act that had driven you out onto the back porch of the Potter's house was beyond anything you’d ever experienced with Black.
James, still unretired from his party boy persona that had ruled Gryffindor tower during his time at Hogwarts, had decided to throw a ‘small’ party. Just a little get together with his closest friends to commemorate their formative years.
Of course, everyone who was invited was welcome to bring whoever they wished. What a wonderful idea, make sure everyone is welcome, right? Cute
What had started as a little get together quickly escalated into a full blown rager with just about every graduate and upcoming seventh year you knew.
You hadn’t even planned on going originally, James had sent you an invite. One you were admittedly surprised to receive until you remembered that his relationship with Lily meant the world to him, and being her best friend of course you’d be invited.
When she’d called you you’d bet that she already knew you wouldn’t want to go.
“Look, it’s going to be sooo small, don’t even sweat it!” She said
“Yeah I won’t sweat it,” you’d replied, your tone even “because I’m not going.”
Lily sighed and you heard her bed sheets ruffle through the receiver as she flopped back onto her bed, “why not, you never get out anymore”
“The last party you dragged me to I got accosted in the stairwell”
“You didn’t get accosted!” She defended, “Fabian ran into you and yes, he spilled your drink, but I think you lived.”
“I hate them.” You resigned to guerilla war tactics.
“I don’t understand why though.” She whined.
“Because they were rowdy and awful and I don’t understand why Sirius insists on speaking to me!” You huffed. Lily just laughed at you, her windchime like giggle coming through the phone in clear high notes.
“He likes you, I don’t understand why you don’t see that” She says, “it’s an innocent crush, love”
“Yeah right, nothing about them is innocent…” Silence hung in the air for a few beats, “but, if you really want me to go..”
Lily’s squeal had you wincing as she bolted upright, “Thank you!! You won’t regret going, we’re going to have so much fun.”
“Yeah, I bet” You sighed.
That was how you ended up in the opulent living room of Potter manor, music blaring and people shouting. Your mood had gone from fair to spoiled and putrid within minutes of being there, especially since Lily had ditched to cozy up with James somewhere you didn’t have the stomach to look for.
“Good evening” A familiar voice invaded your ears and shivers ran up your spine causing your shoulders to stiffen.
You looked over your shoulder and there he was, in rare form tonight.  Long black curls tousled and falling just around his neck, a tight pink floyd t-shirt paired with wide leg jeans. He looked good, you’d be blind to say otherwise, and my god did you wish you were blind.
Maybe if you were blind there wouldn’t be a flush crawling onto your cheeks at the sight of him. You could always blame it on the cup in your hand, maybe if the liquid were a little bit lower.
He took a seat on the couch next to you.
“What do you want, Black?”
He tilted his head a bit, smiling at you all too sweaty for your liking.
“Other than you? Not much” He shrugged.
You huffed, letting your head fall back against the couch. “Do you ever let up?” You said, staring daggers into the ceiling.
“Unfortunately not, Sunshine!” He leaned a little closer to you and you could smell his cologne, and oddly a lot less liquor than you’d expected.
“So, how is my favorite girl?” He flashed a smile at you when you looked his way
“You really wanna know?” You said, your head still against the back of the coach as you looked at him. He nodded, curls bouncing with him. “Awful”
His grin dropped into a mocking pout, “now why’s that?” You threw him and incredulous look, “Why do you think?”
Sirius sighed, dramatically looking around. “Oh I don’t know, maybe because you insist on being in a bad mood all the time?”
Your face hardens as you sit up, turning your body toward him. “Maybe I’m just in a bad mood around you? Ever think of that?”
“I think you like starting fights with me.” He says plainly, mirroring your body language.
“I think you like pissing me off.” You echo.
He just smiles at you then, leaning a little closer to you putting his face right next to yours. “What can I say, you’re cute when you’re mad.”
“You’re the worst,” You say, “You know, you might have had a chance with me. If you weren’t you”
“Weren’t me?” He echos, cocking his head almost like a puppy.
“Yes, if you weren’t so loud and obnoxious. If you weren’t such a player and a jackass” You say matter of factly.
He makes a little pouting noise at you, leaning back a little and taking your hands in his. “So that’s what you want, huh?” He pulls your hands to his chest and slides down onto his knees.
A few people turned to look at the two of you as he readied himself for another embarrassing display. You rolled your eyes, looking down at the boy knelt in front of you.
“Don’t” you say. He nods at you again, smiling up at you as. You shake your head fervently, a small smile creeping onto your own face. “No, Sirius”
He just keeps smiling and nodding until he opens his mouth, “I’ll be so good for you, if that’s what you want!! I will be so so good for you, darling!” He cries
For just a moment you keep your eyes locked on him before you look around and what felt like a million eyes met yours. Some of them were smiling, others laughing, some just looking on with awe.
“Best you’d ever had I promise!” He’s still staring up at you when you look back at him, but his smile fades when he realizes the small amusement behind your eyes has died.
You rip your hands out of Sirius’ as sprint out of the room, leaving him there knelt on the carpet calling after you.
You were furious, beyond furious. How could he embarrass you like that? Sure he’d been pursuing you but he’d never mortified you like that.
All the times he’d crossed a room to sit next to you, or ditched his friends to walk with you at the back of the group were now eclipsed by this one thing. Admittedly he’d been starting to dissolve the barrier you’d set between the two of you, carefully chipping at the stone walls.
When he’d knelt down you’d expected the pleas and whines, and for just a moment the thought had tugged at your heart stings. But you hadn’t expected him to turn it into a spectacle.
Hearing yourself say it now you can’t help but think about how silly that was, naive even. This was Sirius Black, everything he did had to be a spectacle.
You were no exception.
So here you were, not hiding out on the back porch of Potter manor waiting for Lily to find you so you could go home. You considered giving her an earful for even bringing you, but thought better of it. She’d just wanted you to get out for once, fair enough, she’d always been the better of the two of you. Sunshine incarnate with a trusting nature to match.
That’s why you worked, maybe that’s why subconsciously you’d thought about letting Sirius in. No he wasn’t exactly trusting, probably one of the most suspicious people you knew. Maybe sunshine incarnate was a little steep to describe his character, but he was hellbent on cheering you up.
You bit your tongue remembering the feeling that had bloomed in your chest when you saw him, all smiles and jokes when he came to you. You’d never let anyone see it of course, as far as they knew he was the bane of your existence.
But you could almost swear there was something in his eye that told you he knew, secretly somewhere in the head of his he knew you liked having him around. Sure, you could blame it on being wanted but that wasn’t entirely true.
No, unfortunately Sirius had wormed his way into your psyche… and perhaps your heart.
That was until now, when the thought of him only induced a blinding rage and near painful embarrassment in you.
You were brought out of your thoughts by slow, creeping footsteps creaking over the old wood flooring behind you. It could have been anyone, but your intuition had never failed you before.
“What do you want, Black?”
Your voice was colder than he’d ever heard it. Not that he could call any of your greetings toward him warm exactly, but this one was devoid of anything other than spite.
He said nothing, instead he slowly came to sit behind you, keeping a good distance and staring out across the gardens in front of you.
A silence settled into the air for a few moments that felt like several minutes before Sirius spoke.
“I shouldn’t have done that.”
That was all he said. No empty ‘I’m sorry’s or ‘please forgive me’s. Just an admission of guilt, part of you appreciated that. But the other part of you wanted more, so you let the silence coat the air again.
“Look, I know you don’t like me, or at least you pretend not to, but I don’t mean to embarrass you.” He says, turning to look at you.
You shoot him a harsh glare, the anger you’d felt rising once again in the back of your throat.
“What exactly did you think was going to happen when you got on your knees and screamed at the top of your lungs?” The words spit from your tongue like venom, maybe if they burned him just a little he’d see that his actions do have consequences.
Sirius just sighed and dropped his head into his hands, running his fingers through his hair. His sigh turned into to something like a groan.
“I don’t know, I don’t think when I’m around you” He says quietly.
“What’s that?” You say, incredulously.
He lifts his head and looks at you once more, his expression is exasperated and border line annoyed.
“I said; I don’t think much when i’m around you”
For a moment the two of you just stare at one another, until… you laugh. Not just laugh, not like the little chuckles you’d let out when someone would tell a good joke. A full bodied, honest to god cackle.
Sirius can’t help but smile watching you double over like a mad woman. He stared at you profile as you took a deep breath, a smile gracing your features.
“So that’s what that was?” You turn to look at him, taking in the soft smile and look of adoration he wears, “A lack of thought?”
“Yeah”
You hum, looking away from him. “I don’t hate you.” You say, still looking out over the garden, “I’ve tried but I think it’s impossible.”
It’s Sirius’s turn to laugh, not as hard as you but something little more than a scoff. “Trust me it’s not” He employs.
“I guess it is for me.” When you meet his gaze he’s no longer smiling, but that thing behind his eyes that reads like adoration is still there. Something you suppose everyone else could see but you up until now.
You don’t entirely understand what came over you next, but you do know that it was one of the best decisions you’d ever made.
You always said that sunny weather was not the default, that rain and sunshine operated in a battle for control. Either one winning or losing everyday. But in that moment when you leaned forward and kissed Sirius Black for the first time your world view shifted a little.
Perhaps it wasn’t about control after all. Maybe some days the storm clouds parted and dissipated to allow the sun to shine through to nourish the plants and heat the ground, so the children could play and the laundry on the line could dry. And perhaps other days the sun relented to the clouds, allowing them to water the earth and create cozy days where loved ones gathered together around warm fires.
Perhaps everything existed in a balance, perhaps that’s why opposites attract.
And perhaps that’s why that night on the porch was the first of many where you and Sirius chose one other over control.
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: you fall in love with a murderer, and have to choose between living a life with out him, or dying
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: HEAVY angst, no happy ending (sorry), ghostface au, little cursing, scream 6 spoilers ig, death :(
𝐚/𝐧: my first writing!! lmk what y’all think 👀 theme heavily inspired by @auras-moonstone, which go check her blog out if you haven't already! also story very similar to author on wattpad, forgot their name though so if you know, make sure to comment!
Tumblr media
your feet ached from running, and with every step you took, it felt like your muscles were snapping into itty-bitty pieces. however, you had to keep running, for yourself, and for your friends.
you were currently being chased by two ghostfaces, who had just brutally murdered chad. it was painful to watch, since you had been attached at the hip since kindergarten, and had grown up together.
he was always there for you, and was a great listener. he listened to you when you needed to vent about your shitty day, or when you were rambling on about how cute and thoughtful ethan was.
you met ethan at the beginning of the semester, and instantly clicked. you constantly hung out, and the group liked to joke about your crushes on one another. you just thought it was playful teasing, although you had definitely fallen for ethan, hard.
unbeknownst to you, he had felt the same. originally, you and him were never supposed to happen. the plan was for him to join the group through chad, and continue the family business from there. although, once he heard your angelic laugh and experienced your lovable personality, he knew the whole plan was fucked.
however, none of that matters now, as you stand in front of detective bailey. he had just revealed himself as one of the heartless killers, and the other murders still had their masks on, and stood next to him proudly.
then, he took off his disguise.
it was ethan. your ethan. the one who you baked cookies with only a few nights ago, was a serial killer, and wanted your blood.
you couldn’t focus on the others words, all you could do was stare at ethan. he however, was to much of a coward to even glance your direction. he couldn’t bear the thought of your eyes being stained with sadness and betrayal.
you were quickly brought back to reality as all hell broke loose. quinn chased after the sisters, bailey after kirby, and ethan after you.
you pushed your sore and aching legs down a dim hallway, only to find a dead end. it was over for you. no where to run, you turned around to look at ethan, and backed into the cold, concrete wall.
“so, this is it? you’re just going to kill me now, after everything we’ve been through?” you ask with an aggravated tone, your words still lingering in ethans ears, much after they were said.
“i- i dont want to do this to you, y/n. but i have to. its for richie, for the family.” he grips the knife, and slowly brings it up to your throat. you tense up, and squeeze your eyes shut.
this is how you were going to die, bleeding out at the hands of the boy you loved most. it felt unreal, although you were starting to except your fate. you internally jumped at the feeling of the tip of the knife to your throat, and now you were waiting for him to end your life with one stroke.
you kept waiting, for what felt like an eternity, but nothing ever came. you decided to open your eyes out of curiosity. he was standing still, looking down at the ground, deep in thought.
“do it. please, don’t drag my death on. the least you can do is make it quick. kill me, ethan.” you say, the tremble in your voice very prominent. the sound of your whispers catches him off guard, and he looks up from the floor to make eye contact with you.
ethan broke upon hearing your pleads. what was he doing? he loved you, more than he loved his father or sister. you made him feel special, in a way no other family member could.
“I can’t do it.” he says, dropping the knife and beginning to sob into his hands. you look at him, both confused and distraught, until your attention is brought elsewhere. sam was covered in blood behind him, a knife in hand. she brought a finger up to her lips, signaling you to be quiet so she could attack him.
you didn’t want him to die, but you knew he had to. you quickly embraced him, arms around his neck, standing on your tallest tiptoes, due to his abnormally large height.
you dig you head into his neck, between your arm, and began to cry with him.
“you dont know how bad i want this to be a dream.” you managed to choke out, in between sobs. “i wish i could wake up in your arms, and everything could go back to normal.” you say, still hugging him, for this would be the last time.
you pick your head up to look at sam, signaling to her that it was time. you bury your head back into the crook of his neck, closing your eyes, waiting. you then hear the knife plunge into his skin, and you feel the vibrations of his muffled shrieks along your skin.
you decide to continue talking, trying to help him through the pain, while sam retracts the weapon from his back and goes to stab him again.
 “i wish i could wake up from this nightmare, and we could go back to studying econ on thursdays, and getting milkshakes at our favorite diner while we talk and laugh for hours.” you exclaim with a depressing and heartfelt tone.
“remember when you were walking me back to my apartment late one night, and we saw a stray cat? and you sat there for the next 10 minutes, feeding it scraps out of the palm of your hand?” you recite to him, and he nods slowly, while in pain.
“thats the ethan i fell in love with. he would never do anything like this, and he was the most selfless guy i knew. he would spend hours researching the perfect flower to get, and would make sure to text me every morning and night to check on me.” you share, and start to feel his body go limp, and all color he once had, slowly drained from his soul.
“i love you, so much y/n. i wish things were different.” he stutters out, before going unconscious.
“me too.” you say, laying his body down on the ground. tears spilling from your eyes, and onto his lifeless cheek.
that was it. there was no more ethan and y/n. you would have to live a life without him. no more sleeping in his bed while you ran your fingers through his hair, no more sweet messages, no more song recommendations. apart of you had died that day, and it killed knowing that he would never come back.
another regular appointment | 906 | softestpunk / @softest-punk
Summary: The bricks of The New Inn, slick with rain, bite into Dream’s back even through the insulating layer of his coat, but any momentary shock of pain is instantly swallowed up by the warm sanctuary of an eager mouth. It is unprofessional, of course, making repeat visits to the dreams of a particular dreamer without proper cause.
Recompense | 1,445 | Lilibet
Summary: In hindsight, pressing the King of Dreams, an endlessly immortal being of unfathomable power, against the wall of The New Inn is probably not one of Hob’s best ideas.
verdant, fertile, and blooming | 1,893 | softestpunk / @softest-punk
Summary: The Dreaming enjoys Hob's visits very much—to Dream's increasing distress.
lonesome nights are over | 1,934 | thewalrus_said / @thewalrus-said
Summary: Hob's restraint broke at the one-year mark, six months since the start of their odd, circumstantial friendship. "Tell me truly, Dream, have you ever paid for a drink in your life?" Dream blinked, looking down at his half-empty glass. "What?" he asked, a rare loss of words from him. "Every month, someone pays for your drink for you, and you've never taken them up on it," Hob said. "Were you really not interested in any of them?" "Interested?" Dream's brow furrowed, like he was trying to understand and couldn't. "Interested in what?"
let me in before the rainy season starts again | 2,633 | tiltingheartand / @tiltingheartand
Summary: “Oh shit,” he says, eyes wide. And then, “oh fuck,” as he’s scooting backwards as quick as he can, “sorry, sorry, I’m sorry,” because what else can you say when you realize, oh, that’s not just a version of your friend that your brain conjured up, that’s your actual friend, the anthropomorphic personification of dreams, in your actual dream. The dream where you’re naked and waiting for him to come be naked with you.
Please see below for more recommendations!
all i want is to be a bit warm for you | 7,848 | im_not_corrupted / @im-not-corrupted
Summary: Upon escaping Fawney Rig, the King of Dreams does not feel anything. His skin is numb to feeling. Desperate to feel something other than the cold that became a constant companion since he was so cruelly caged, he makes himself bleed. Still, he doesn’t feel it. During one of their weekly meetings, Hob notices. And he watches as it becomes a pattern. Concerned, he inevitably brings it up, only to learn more about where his friend had been in their century apart than he expected.
How Adam Loved Eve | 9,761 | Moorishflower / @moorishflower
Summary: It's said in the Bible that when the Lord took the rib from Adam and used it to craft Eve, there upon her breast, where the rib rested beneath her skin, was Adam's name writ in the old language of angels and higher powers. Hob wonders, sometimes, if Adam bore Eve's name somewhere upon his person, or if she spent the rest of her life wondering if God had chained a man to her that would never love her back. Everyone is born with the name of their soulmate as a mark on their palm. Hob Gadling is born with a thousand titles in looping scrawl on his arm and a name on his palm that no one can see but him.
Real People | 9,781 | spqr / @andthepeople
Summary: Desire’s blood red lips curl into a smile so knowing and devious that Dream’s heart drops into his stomach. “I know,” they say, nearly purring. “As an apology, dear brother, I’ll give you the one thing you want most in the universe. The thing you don’t even know you’re yearning for.”
Tumblr media
À Cœur Vaillant | 10,156 | WyvernQuill / @wyvernquill
Summary: The young man turned, and asked, determination and cowardice both flickering in his eyes, “Professor, do you think it’s wicked to help the devil?” For a moment, Hob thought - and tried to not let his mind dwell overly long on an entity he had long thought demonic. Is it wicked to help the devil? Less than to love one, surely.
What Manner Of Creature | 13,727 | Myrocongridae (Anguilliformes)
Summary: Hob's had a number of theories about his strange friend over the years. They are all, of course, completely incorrect.
Terms of Endearment | 13,871 | BeholdingTheGaytimes / @beholdingthegaytimes
Summary: It’s been somewhere between two or three months, he reckons, since Hob started consistently having domestic dreams about a man he hasn’t seen in about a hundred and thirty years. It’s only a bit mortifying. Dreams and the subconscious are odd, and he’s not going to start judging himself now for any wanton desires.
Hope and Stubbornness Endure | 14,028 | icarus_chained
Summary: There are consequences to being caught in nightmares not your own, in the tormented memories of beings infinitely more powerful than you. Hob Gadling doesn't care. Nightmares can't kill him. And if this was ever real, he has no choice but to try and fight it now. To show ... to show his friend that he would have rescued him. If he'd known. He would have tried, no matter what it cost.
I have lately learned the difference | 18,085 | Chthonion / @chthonion
Summary: While Dream is imprisoned, Hob dreams of prisons, until, one by one, all of them take the same shape: a glass cage. Hob doesn't realize why until he meets Dream again, and the dreams don’t stop afterward.
In the Arms of Morpheus | 18,473 | Kavute / @mashumaru
Summary: In the year 1916 the sleepy sickness struck the world. Over the years millions of people were affected with no real cure or known cause. Hob Gadling, currently known as Robert Gadlen, a respected neuroscientist, uses his time to try to solve the mystery of sleepy sickness and missing dreams. When the old familiar Stranger returns to his life, Hob's understanding of the world shifts once more.
Get Lonely | 19,058 | Moorishflower / @moorishflower
Summary: It has been four months and two weeks since Orpheus died. Struggling to come to terms with his role in the death of his son, newly-divorced ghostwriter Dream Murphy finds solace in an ASMR YouTube channel run by a kind, faceless man. When he starts to feel more than gratitude for the man to whom he credits his recovery, he must make the difficult choice between standing sentinel over his son's memory, or moving forward with his life.
string of pearls (by fate's design) | 21,642 | youcanseethecosmos / @youcanseethecosmos
Summary: He knew of Roderick Burgess. Every man, woman, child, and dog has heard of The Great Collector and his labyrinth of mythical creatures. Hob had never been rich enough to get invited to the shows and parties Burgess would throw at his mansion. Nor was he ever sneaky enough to attempt pretending he was a nobleman. But Hob knew what happened at those parties by observing others. Listening in on drunken rambles of the aristocracy who enter The White Horse to escape their totally miserable lavish lives. What a bunch of cunts they are. But again… a job is a job.
Two Shots:
The King of the Forest: 3k [WerewolfKing!Chan | Supernatural/Fantasy AU | Smut | Mild Angst | Royalty | Mediaeval Setting]
The King of the Forest 02: 2k [WerewolfKing!Chan | Supernatural/Fantasy AU | Smut | Royalty | Mediaeval Setting]
Herbie: 10k [Mechanic!Chan | Smut | Some Fluff | Strangers to Friends to Lovers]
Chris was the best mechanic you’d ever met. He was good at his craft, capable of bringing your dingy car back to life time and time again. He was, also, excellent at riling you up just by existing, which wasn’t the best when you were absolutely convinced he just wanted to be friends with you. But maybe, just maybe, he’d prove you wrong.
Herbie 02: 5k [Smut | Fluff | Friends to Lovers (kind of)]
As it turned out, your hot mechanic friend also had a crush on you. After rocking your world in his repair shop’s office, you wake up the next day on his bed in his clothes, ready to spend a lazy morning together.
Five-Point Star: 6k [Bodyguard/Assassin!Chan | Smut | bit of Fluff | Angst | Strangers to lovers to enemies but lovers?]
With a career like yours, you knew you shouldn’t let yourself fall in love. But honestly, in retrospect, there was no way you wouldn’t have fallen in love with Chris. After meeting him, you couldn’t help but hope that he’d be the last person you fell this deeply for–maybe foolishly so…
Five-Point Star: The Aftermath: 17k [Bodyguard/Assassin!Chan | Smut | bit of Fluff | Angst]
After months of hindering a mercenary’s attempts to get to the person Chris was hired to protect, after months of many fights, injuries, and plotting, he had expected for the resolution to be much more satisfactory than this.
Drabbles/Timestamps:
[23:26]: 1k [Roommate!Chan | Roomies to ???? | Fluff]
You couldn’t sleep, and desperate times require desperate measures.
[02:11]: 1k [Boyfriend!Chan | Established Relationship | Smut | Fluff]
After waking up in the wee hours of the night, your boyfriend simply needed you to warm him up.
MiniSeries - A Mutually Beneficial Agreement
A Mutually Beneficial Agreement - pt 1: 3k [Demon!Chan | Supernatural AU | Smut]
How ironic... to have found yourself entangled with a demon called Christopher, of all things. Some people would’ve made you believe he was taking advantage of you. But you knew better.
A Mutually Beneficial Agreement - pt 2: 14k [Demon!Chan | Supernatural AU | Angst | Smut | Some fluff]
Your favourite demon seemed to be full of surprises, some you could more than get used to, but others that… you weren’t sure you could get used to at all.
MiniSeries - The Realm of Nyaldra:
Purple Flame: 6k [Dokkaebi!Chan | Fantasy AU | Royalty AU | Established Relationship | Smut]
The Firelands’ Gifted Tribes hated each other, especially the Goblin Children and the Dragon Children, but they were willing to work together against a common enemy. Thanks to the war, a pair of star-crossed lovers find the opportunity to end the decade-long feud between the two Gifted Tribes, a goal they’ll strive for whether the Goblin King and the Dragon Queen like it or not.
The Beginning of the End: 2k [Dokkaebi!Chan | Fantasy AU | Royalty AU | Established Relationship | Star-crossed Lovers | Smut | bit Angsty]
Whenever Chan held you in his arms again after spending long periods of time apart, he couldn’t help but feel selfish–and even a bit foolishly hopeful. [A sort of pt. 2 to Purple Flame].
Series of One Shots/Drabbles - WereRoommies:
It’s Cold Out: 8k [Werewolf!Chan | Supernatural/Fantasy AU | Roomies to Lovers | Smut]
Rut: 4k [Werewolf!Chan | Supernatural/Fantasy AU | Roomies to Lovers | Smut | Fluff]
Your roommate’s rut is coming to an end.
Alpha Dog: 17k [Werewolf!Chan | Supernatural/Fantasy AU | Roomies to Lovers | Smut | Fluff | Soulmate AU? 👀]
Lee Know
One Shots:
Alone Together: 8k [SpacePirate!Lino | Sci-Fi AU | Smut | Established Relationship (kind of) | Lovers (idiots) to Even More Lovers (affectionate)]
Minho was a man on the run, an outlaw. He was always getting himself into trouble, thieving and fighting against the people that perpetuated an unfair system that did nothing but bring pain to those the system considered lowly and unworthy. For his next mission, he decided to ask for help from the person he trusted most in this world, you.
The Taste of Love: 3k [Vampire!Lino | Supernatural/Fantasy AU | Smut | Some Fluff | Mediaeval Setting]
Every handful of centuries, Minho found himself someone that was willing to let him feed off of them. It usually wasn’t planned, it sort of just happened. This time, that person was you, the baker that had just moved into town. He wanted nothing more than to have a taste of you, in more ways than one.
Minho was your rock, he was your anchor, your best friend, which was why you just couldn’t stop yourself from falling for him, even when he was, essentially, a supernatural being. One ‘camping trip’ might be the last push you needed to finally confess. Or maybe not…
Dog Unleashed: 11k [Werewolf!Lino | Supernatural/Fantasy AU | Smut | Fluff | Mild Angst? | Established Relationship]
Starting a relationship with the man that had been your best friend since you were a kid was and wasn’t easy in equal parts. It was, because there wasn’t anyone in this world you trusted more than Minho, there wasn’t anyone that made you feel this safe. But sometimes, it just wasn’t. Not only because of the physical distance, but also because of the challenges that posed having a supernatural boyfriend who didn’t like to talk about his equally supernatural problems.
Are You There, Wolf?: 8k [Werewolf!Lino | Supernatural/Fantasy AU | Smut | Fluff | Best Friends to Lovers]
Minho had always deemed himself a bit of a weirdo. In his humble opinion, he’d only become even weirder with time, especially after he acquired his supernatural… condition. He’d never cared much about it, not when you’d always been there for him, and hopefully you would always be.
Pairing: Roy Kent x F!Reader
Summary: It's a beautiful day for a youth football match, where you are the brand new coach. And what better way to start it than meet the infamous uncle of one of your players?
Word Count: 2.5k
Warnings: It's just fluff, lads. Roy Kent with a toddler. Reader is a mom
A/N: Took a break from Could This Be to write this. First time writing for Roy as the main! I hope you all enjoy! :)
Masterlist | Main Blog
“Alright, first match as a coach.”
You stared in the mirror, adjusting your cap for a second time. The nerves were eating you alive, and you had to pretend you weren’t completely nauseous, due to the fact that if you focused on it too much, you would, indeed, throw up.
“You can do this!” You told your reflection, pulling at the hem of your jacket. This had been how the last ten minutes had gone; mantras and adjusting your clothing. At this rate, you were never going to leave the house, let alone coach the game.
A tiny figure appeared in the mirror behind you, running up and pressing her tiny, pudgy fingers into the glass.
“You got this!” She squealed, throwing her head back to look at you before giving you a wide smile. It was hard to argue with that face, and hard to resist smiling back. Putting your hands under the toddler’s armpits, you hoisted her up at top speed, met with a loud giggle.
“Alright Eebee,” You told her. “Let’s get going.”
The walk to the pitch was a short one, luckily, as you had not one but two people who you had to ensure the arrival of. Evie was sat in the pram, facing forwards, with a small assortment of snacks to keep her occupied. She was making her little sounds, as she always did, and every time, it made you wonder what went on in her head. She was old enough to speak, but not enough to where she was completely understandable, at her crisp 2 years of age.
The sun was out in full swing, not a cloud in the sky, the perfect evening for a game of footie, and the pitch itself was in pristine condition when you arrived. The balls were left out in a box for you, as they usually were. Stopping at the edge of the field, you released Evie and let her run around the pitch while you watched. The hope was that she would tire herself out enough that she’ll nap during the match. You weren’t too confident in the plan, as she rarely followed the script you made in your head, but it didn’t hurt to try.
As players and their parents began to arrive, you were sitting in the grass, watching Evie kick the ball around the field.
“Hello, Evie!”
A flash of blonde ran past you and onto the pitch. When the toddler noticed her friend arriving, she squealed with joy before running as fast as she could to hug Phoebe. Standing up, you watched the two of them.
“God, seeing them together makes me want to have another,” Rachel said as she appeared in your peripheral. You smiled at her before turning back towards the two. Phoebe was holding Evie’s hand, bringing it up in the air and waving, but not at you or Rachel.
“Uncle Roy! This is Evie!”
Turning, you saw a tall, muscular man in a black t-shirt and jeans. His arms were crossed over his chest, and the only response he gave to his niece was a curt nod. It didn’t appear to bother her, as a bright smile filled her cheeks before she turned back to your daughter.
“So I finally get to put a face to the infamous Uncle Roy,” You remarked, glancing back at Rachel before your gaze found him again. You didn’t realize how long you had been staring until he met your eye, the look of disdain never faltering. Jumping in surprise, you immediately turned forward again.
“You don’t know him?” Rachel asked, sounding surprised. You looked at her, fighting the urge to sneak another glance at him.
“Should I?”
She opened her mouth to answer, but was interrupted by Phoebe yelling, “Headers, Uncle Roy!” The other kids had started arriving at this point, and when they realized what she was saying, they all ran to line up behind her. Roy looked mildly inconvenienced by the question, but still stepped onto the forward and grabbed one of the balls.
“Alright, one at a time,” He said. It was so uniform, every child going one at a time without fighting, that you wondered how many times he did this with them.
“They seem to really love him,” You remarked to Rachel. She nodded.
“They all idolize him,” She said. “Especially Phoebe. Just can’t get enough of her Uncle Roy.”
“Oh I know,” You said with a laugh. “Can’t get through a single practice without her bringing him up at least once.” A beat passed. “It’s not as nice when she says she misses him being her coach though.” Rachel scrunched up her nose, her expression screaming with embarrassment.
“Sorry ‘bout that,” She said quietly. “She just loves him so much.”
It wasn’t hard to see why. He was so gentle with the kids as he threw the ball for each of them them, giving them a fatherly compliment with every single hit.
“Beautiful.”
“Lovely.”
“Great job.”
“I love that!”
He didn’t come off as a person who smiled often, making you feel like you were seeing some rarity in the wild as he laughed with the children. It almost felt invasive. A big secret that you were now in on.
The beating in your chest seized when Evie appeared at the front of the line, begging for her turn. Slowly, Roy kneeled down to her level.
“Alright, love,” He said gently. “Can you take a few steps forward?” She obliged, skipping a few steps until Roy beckoned for her to stop. She was bouncing up and down, waiting excitedly to have her turn, just like the big kids. He counted 1, 2, 3, before softly tossing the ball against her head. When it bounced off, she looked surprised for a brief moment before letting out a loud squeal. She ran up to Roy and threw her arms around his neck. He froze for only a second before wrapping his arms around her.
Your heart soared.
Roy approached you and his sister, Evie hanging off his neck like a monkey, and his one hand supporting her bum. Both of them looked completely nonchalant at this, as if it had been occurring forever.
“Does this belong to you?” His voice was raspy and low, and you wondered if it hurt his throat to talk like that all the time. Raising your hands, you reached out to the toddler, who, quite unusually, wrapped her arms tighter around the stranger.
“She does,” You said, your eyebrows knitting together. “Although, she seems quite fond of you.”
“Yeah,” He said. “Fuckin’ annoyin’, innit?”
At first, you were taken aback by his comment. But then, you saw it. The flash of humor in his eyes, and you realized that he was making a joke. A smile crossed your cheeks, and you were surprised when his mirrored yours.
“This is my brother, Roy Kent,” Rachel said, before adding “Don’t worry. He is the complete arsehole you think he is.” As she was introducing you to him, you found that you were asking yourself just one question: Do I think he’s a complete arsehole, though?
“Fuck you,” He said sharply, voice loud. A few parents glanced over, but none of them dared to say anything.
“Pleasure to meet you,” You said simply, watching as Evie swung her legs up and was now sitting on his shoulders like he was a climbing frame. You brought a hand to your forehead in embarrassment. “I’m sorry about her. She hasn’t learned her manners just yet, has she?” Your daughter gave you a mischievous look, as if she understood what you were saying.
He waved you off. “She’s fine. No trouble at all.” Giving him another look, you turned to Rachel.
“I was actually going to ask if you wouldn’t mind watching her during the game?” You smiled hopefully. “I couldn’t get a babysitter and… well…” Rachel stopped you with a hand to your forearm.
“Roy and I will take good care of her, won’t we, Roy?” She nudged her brother, giving him a look that you couldn’t quite decipher. He cleared his throat before. nodding.
“Yeah, yeah,” He said. “If she dies in my care, though, it’s your fault. Since I’m a stranger and all.” You playfully wrinkled your nose.
“Then I’d be forced to kill you.”
“And how would you do that?”
You leaned forward before whispering, “With my bare hands.”
He stared at you for a moment, as if assessing your ability to do that, when a few of the boys ran by, screaming, “Roy Kent! Roy Kent! He’s here! He’s there! He’s every-fuckin’-where!”
“Oi!” You shouted at them. “No cussing!” You eyed Roy, who’s cheeks turned a slight shade of pink. “What was that?” He gave a look to his sister before looking back at you.
“You…you don’t know?”
“Is there a reason I should already know you?” You asked, a little more demanding than when you had asked Rachel previously. “Unless you mean… I do know you’re Phoebe’s uncle, she talks about you all the time.”
He was looking at you, but in a way that was making you uncomfortable. It was like he had been enlightened to you somehow, like he was seeing you for the first time. The referee blew his whistle, making both of you turn away.
“You ready, Coach?”
“Yes,” Came out of your mouth, but it also came out of Roy’s. When you and the referee looked at him, he blanched.
“A bit below your pay grade, ain’t it, Coach?” The referee said, patting Roy’s arm before walking away. Roy appeared annoyed by this comment, but said nothing to confirm that.
You wanted to question it further, but Roy was faster as he nodded towards the pitch.
“Get goin’, Coach,” He said, taking Evie’s hands in his and having her wave at you as he slowly backed away. She giggled the whole time.
Watching a bunch of 8 year olds play football isn’t as exciting as one may think it is, but you were thankful that the halves were only 20 minutes each as opposed to the professional length of 45 minutes. Though you tried hard not to, you often found yourself looking behind you to see what Evie was up to. More often than not, she was with Roy, either being chased around by him, chasing him as he kicked around one of the spare balls, or actually watching the match while on his shoulders. Throughout the first half of the match, she was constantly heard laughing.
It was weird, seeing Evie so comfortable with a person who wasn’t you. After all, it has just been you and her for the last just over two years, and you had certainly never brought her around any men. And yet here she was, treating this man as if they'd known each other her whole life.
At the end of the first half, the score was 2-2, and your players were tired.
“You guys are playing so well,” You told them, applauding as they crowded around you. “Whatever happens, you all did amazing things on this pitch today.” Without looking over, you straightened up. “Coach Roy!” When you did turn. he was eyeing you curiously, forgetting to kick the ball from Evie so she couldn’t take it from him, which she quickly did. “Any words for these players?”
He approached, stopping right next to you with his arms crossed over his chest. A firm, hard look was passed across the players.
“Fuckin’ kill them.”
All of the kids screamed their heads off in agreement before running back onto the field. You looked at Roy in shock.
“You can’t say that!” You exclaimed. He shrugged.
“You asked.” You still had the same stunned expression when you watched him turn and scoop Evie up in his arms, her laugh echoing through the whole field.
His words of wisdom worked, for by the time the game ended, your team had won 7-2. And it only resulted in one bloody nose and two yellow cards (You talked the referee out of the red card for the bloody nose). You gathered the balls and put them in the box, leaving them out for the next set of teams who were due to play in an hour.
“Good game, guys,” You told your players. “Monica’s mum has snacks for everyone. You’ve all earned it.” Raising your hand up, all the players smacked your palm as hard as they could. The only exception being Phoebe, who instead tapped your hand with her forehead. When you gave her a questioning look, she smiled at you.
“Uncle Roy’s best friend taught me that,” She informed you before skipping off to her mum. You decided not to question it.
“See you guys for practice,” You called to Rachel and Phoebe, who both gave you a wave before walking off. It took you a moment to realize that Roy was not with them, meaning neither was Evie. You began to spin around in search of them, and were relieved when you saw him on the other side of the pitch, your toddler curled up in his arms. Her head laid on his shoulder, his hand running up and down her back in comfort. For someone who, you assumed, didn’t have children of his own, he sure handled them incredibly well.
It was very attractive, not that you’d ever admit that to him.
“How long has she been asleep?” You called to him as he made his way to you. He lifted his free arm in a shrug.
“‘Bout a minute into the second half.”
Shaking your head, you put your hands on your hips while staring at the sleeping baby.
“Thank you for watching her,” You said. “You really didn’t have to do that.”
“It’s fine,” He said. “Definitely more fun than watchin’ the match. Fuckin’ painful.” He pointed at Evie. “She’s gonna be a football star. Best player here today. Don’t tell Phoebe.” Laughing, you grabbed the pram and pulled it over. Though you offered to take her from him, he shook his head before carefully placing her in himself. Watching him be so tender with her made you feel some type of way. When he straightened up again, you looked down at the ground before looking back at him. His eyes never left you.
“Well, it was nice to meet you, Roy Kent,” You said. He tilted his head slightly.
“You too.”
“Come on, Uncle Roy!” Phoebe yelled from the car park, Rachel grabbing her and smiling apologetically as she dragged her towards the car.
You bit back a smile as he mumbled, “Fuckin’ prick.”
“See you around?” You asked him, curling your fingers around the handles of the pram. He looked down at the toddler, then back at you before nodding.
“Yeah,” He said quietly. “You will.”
And as you walked away, the breeze hitting your cheeks in just the right way, as they were burning deeply, you found yourself hoping that you would.
let’s not do anything hilarious
A link to the master post
Summary: Astarion Ancunin has two objectives whenever he comes to Baldur’s Gate. One: keep Tav happy. And two: keep Callum happy. As of right now, he is failing quite spectacularly at both. Callum vanished under his watch and his mother is in a state of panic. It’s been years since she’s worn that wrecked expression and he never wishes to see it again. The only way to fix that is to locate the boy and bring him to her as quickly as possible.
Pairing: Astarion x Tav (female Tav)
Word count: ~2200
Notes: I can’t seem to get myself to write the thing I want to write, the thing I keep telling myself I should write, so here we are again with a random tidbit. This time we get a little Gale time, featuring @necromosss’s Tav, Mira, stirring up some trouble. If you haven’t seen her art, go check out her blog. She turned me on to the Gale romance. I just hope I did Mira justice.
Enjoy!
This is the single most devastating moment of Tav’s life. Nothing could have prepared her physically or mentally for such an event. Her heart is pounding, her palms are clammy, and her skin is crawling with so much anxiety she could rip it from her body. Even then, that would pale in comparison to pain she feels a in her very soul.
“Oh my gods, where is he?” Her eyes meet Gale’s then Astarion’s respectively. “Where’s Callum?” When neither of the men provide an answer, only stare back with gobsmacked faces, she turns away to start searching. A hand touches her shoulder when she tries to move away and she flinches.
It’s only Gale, who lets go immediately. “Breathe, just breathe, Tav,” he says, keeping a calm and cool head.
She shakes her head. “I can’t.”
“Yes, you can.”
“Callum is missing. My son is missing.” Saying it out loud makes it feel worse. Tav clutches onto the fabric of her shirt above her frantic heart. “I should’ve been paying more attention to him. Or holding his hand. He’s so small, Gale. So small. What if someone took him?”
The wizard swats away the suggestion. “I’m sure he merely wandered off after spotting a sparkly bauble or colorful trinket.”
“But what if—”
He cuts her off. “We’ll find him.”
“But—”
He cuts her off a second time, firmly grabbing onto both of her shoulders. Her mouth snaps shut and she stares wide-eyed at her friend. “We will find him, Tav. But I implore you to take a deep breath.” Tav nods profusely inhaling through the nose and exhaling slowly through the mouth. Already some tension leaves her. “There. Much better.”
She takes another breath and at least now she can think straight. “Thank you.”
He smiles at her reassuringly. “Of course. I doubt he got very far. Why don’t you search the immediate vicinity? I shall search further up the road, and Astarion, you can—” It’s only now that they’ve both noticed their other companion is nowhere to be found. “Astarion?”
Curse that blasted vampire.
Astarion Ancunin has two objectives whenever he comes to Baldur’s Gate. One: keep Tav happy. And two: keep Callum happy. As of right now, he is failing quite spectacularly at both. Callum vanished under his watch and his mother is in a state of panic. It’s been years since she’s worn that wrecked expression and he never wishes to see it again. The only way to fix that is to locate the boy and bring him to her as quickly as possible.
Easier said than done.
He wasn’t at any of the stalls near where they were, nor inside any of the shops. It comes as no shock that no one noticed a small child with blue hair passing them by. If Astarion didn’t have to worry about accidentally exposing himself to the sun or drawing too much attention, this would be so much easier. Wave a dagger here, idle threats there and somebody would’ve seen something useful.
He makes a sharp turn down an alleyway when he spots a woman crouching in front of several stacks of barrels. She doesn’t notice him yet, her focus on something, or someone, hidden from his view. “Hello, little one. Are you lost?”
“Y-yes,” a small voice warbles.
He cant physically see him, but he recognizes that voice. It’s Callum. Callum is over there, to his immense relief. Astarion’s first instinct is to shove the stranger aside, pick up the boy, and run like the hells, but it’s never that easy. This is Baldur’s Gate, the City of Blood, who knows if this woman has good intentions or bad. Astarion hangs back, sliding back behind the corner from which he came, a dagger at the ready, just in case.
He watches as she scoots a little closer. His hold on the hilt tightens. “Can you tell me your name?” she asks.
“No.”
The woman, a drow upon closer inspection, laughs at the timid yet blunt answer. “Smart boy.” Astarion wholeheartedly agrees. “I’m Mira. I’ll help you find your way home, alright?”
“I miss my Mama.”
She stands up and holds out a hand. “I know. We’ll find her together, promise.”
There’s a long pause as Callum thinks of what to do. “O-okay.” A tiny hand comes out from behind the barrels, latching onto her fingers.
She smiles down at him, hoping to coax him out of his hiding spot. “Okay.”
Astarion has no choice but to step in before they can leave. Thankfully for him, the alley is steeped in shadows, so if things get out of hand, at the very least he can close the umbrella in favor of fighting. Astarion clears his throat and slowly walks their way. “Thank you, but that won’t be necessary. He’s coming with me.”
The drow jumps, startled by his sudden appearance. “Stay there,” she whispers. She lets go of his hand, guides him back behind the barrels, and turns to face Astarion. She eyes him up and down. “Can I help you, sir?”
He puts on a charming grin and holds up his hand to show he’s not holding a weapon (it’s up his sleeve). “Ah, but you already did. You found my friend for me. Thank you for your services, but they are no longer needed. Good day.” He motions for her to leave.
She takes a defiant step back, closer to Callum. “Are you his father?”
Astarion resists a grimace, because it’s a stupid question and he can’t say yes. “No,” he grinds out. “I’m a family friend.”
“How do I know you’re telling the truth?” she challenges.
They’re maybe five feet apart, staring each other down, silver glaring up at red. “You don’t,” he deadpans. He looks past her, toward those barrels. “Come out, little bird. It’s time to fly home.”
Out pops that head of blue hair, followed by puffy, red-rimmed eyes. “Asty?”
“The one and only.” His eyes flicker back and forth between the boy and the woman every few seconds. He doesn’t want either of them out of sight. “You had us all worried sick disappearing like that, especially your mother. She’s looking for you right now.”
At the mention of Tav, the little comes out of hiding entirely. The drow woman still stands guard, hand shifting towards a rapier sheathed at her hip. “Mama?” he chirps.
Astarion nods. “Yes. I’ll take you to her.”
A few things happen all at once. Callum tries running towards him, only to be prevented by her. Astarion reveals the dagger up his sleeve because it seems he’s going to have to do this the hard way. Next thing he knows, a strong gust of wind blows him back against a brick wall and then there is a sword being pressed to his throat. The mysterious woman knows magic. And he dropped the dagger when he hit the wall. Perfect. Can this get any worse?
Naturally, he has to make light of everything, if not for himself, but for Callum’s sake. “Let’s not do anything hilarious.”
She presses the blade ever closer, making the cool metal touch just below his Adam’s apple. “Shut it,” she hisses. “I’m not going to let you hurt him.”
She thinks he’s going to hurt Callum? The idea is so preposterous, he could laugh. He restrains himself from doing so because something tells him she won't share his sense of humor. “This is just one big misunderstanding, dear. Lower your weapon and I will gladly explain everything away.”
Her eyes narrow dangerously. “Do not take me for a fool.”
And yet she is a fool. “I would never dream of doing such a thing.”
“How about I just run a stake through your heart, vampire?” His smile drops as a crooked, snaggle-toothed smirk spreads across her face. “Better yet, I can toss you out in the sun over there.”
Well, shit. This is worse.
A gasp from the little boy turns both of their heads. He’s running away, running right past them, running as fast as his little legs can take him, with his arms extended out. “Mama!”
At the end of the alley stands Astarion’s beloved druid, looking regal under the light of the sun. And Gale’s there too, he supposes. “Callum!” She meets him halfway, deftly scoops him into her arms and squeezes him like her life depends on it. “I was so scared.” She cranes her neck to look him over. “What happened? Are you hurt?”
His voice waivers. “I saw a cat and I wanted to pet it, but-but it kept running away. Then I lost you.”
She closes her eyes and thinks of his warmth breath on her neck, his weight in her arms, his heart beating in his chest. “It’s okay.” He’s okay. He’s fine. “You’re not lost anymore. You found me.”
“I love you, Mama.”
Tav presses a kiss into his hair. “I love you, too.” She kisses him over and over again.
The tender moment is broken with an aggravated cough. “Ahem! Not to spoil this heartwarming reunion, but can someone please tell this madwoman to release me?”
The druid flushes with embarrassment. “Sorry,” she calls. She approaches the drow woman, though she still keeps a safe distance back. “Let him go. Please.”
She glares at her captee. “He’s a vampire!”
Gale tries to talk her down. “Ah, yes. We are well aware of this fact, Miss …” He trails off, gesturing for her to fill in the blank.
“Mira,” she says.
“Miss Mira.”
“Just Mira,” she corrects.
“Just Mira.” He slowly saunters over, placing a hand on Astarion’s shoulder. “He’s actually a very good friend of ours and we’d prefer it if you didn’t kill him.”
“He was going to drink from your son!”
The vampire scoffs. “No, I wasn’t!” He pauses. “And that’s not his son!” The thought of Gale and Tav, together, makes him physically ill.
“Hush,” they both snap.
Astarion begrudgingly obeys. There is still a fucking sword at his throat and apparently he’s the only one bothered by it.
This is going absolutely nowhere. Tav steps a little closer so she’s behind Gale but next to Astarion. “Miss—” The other woman opens her mouth, so Tav quickly corrects herself. “I mean, Mira. Mira. I appreciate you looking out for my son, I’ll never be able to properly thank you for that, but there’s no one I trust more with him than the man before you.” She grabs Astarion’s wrist. “Please, release him.”
Mira’s eyes start on Tav then Callum, flit over to Gale, and finally land on the vampire. They’re all staring at her, hope shining in their eyes and it’s too much for her to bear. “Fine,” she groans before sheathing the rapier and crossing her arms.
Astarion brushes off some imaginary dust from his shoulders. “Thank you. It was about time.”
“You’re welcome,” she sneers back.
Tav’s hand is touching his face, turning his head by the chin this way and that, checking for injuries. “Are you hurt?”
He shrugs, playing it of. “I’ll live.”
“Asty, I’ll make it all better.” Tav semi-reluctantly hands him over to Astarion, who readily accepts the boy. “I’ll give you a magic kiss like Mama gives me.” And he does, right on the cheek, and then Callum hugs him around the neck.
Astarion catches a glimpse of a beaming Tav over the boy’s shoulder and feels his heart melt with sentimentality. Gods below, he has gone soft over the years and these two are to blame. With a sigh, he pats the boy’s back. “Thank you, little bird. I think it’s working.”
So Callum’s fine. Astarion’s got him. Tav feels secure enough to turn her attention back to Mira. “Thank you for protecting my son. Please, let me give you something for your trouble.” She digs into her satchel and pulls out a small pouch heavy with gold coins. “Here. Take this.”
Mira stares at the pouch for a moment, but takes a step back. “It was no trouble at all. Keep your gold.”
The druid is a persistent one. “Then allow me to buy you a meal. Please. I do insist. Please.”
Mira is not immune to those big, doe eyes. She throws her hands up, resigning herself to her fate. “Sure. Why not?”
Tav’s face lights up. “Yes! Perfect. Thank you. I know this place not too far from here—”
“I’m sorry. You expect me to endure a meal sitting across from someone who just tried to kill me?”
Tav chuckles dryly. “I’ve done it.”
Astarion spins around. “What? When did you—” But then he stops mid sentence to cringe. “Oh … right …” She’s referring to the first time he fed on her. He was one gulp away from going too far. Tav passed out from the blood loss and he stayed up the rest of the night to make sure he hadn’t unintentionally killed her. The next morning she sucker punched him. It was very much warranted. “Have I told you how lovely you look in that color, darling?”
She rolls her eyes. “That’s what I thought.”
Mira leans over and stage whispers to Gale. “Um, so what’s the story behind that?”
He arches an eyebrow at the query. “To what are you referring to?”
She looks back over at the trio. Tav is fussing over both of her boys, repeatedly asking if they’re okay, they’re unharmed, they’re fine. Mira tilts her head in their direction. “Them.”
The wizard follows her gaze then sighs. “One lunch isn’t a sufficient amount of time to explain that … mess.”
“Is that so?” She clasps her hands behind her back and bites her lip. “Sounds like a good excuse to meet up again.”
Gale’s face burns bright red. “O-oh.” He starts fiddling with his coat, the buttons, the cuffs, anything to distract him from openly gaping at the beautiful woman currently speaking to him. “I-I wouldn’t be opposed to the idea.”
“It’s a date?”
He offers her a shy smile as a confirmation. “It’s a date.”
Thanks for reading!
When you’d finally made the decision to move in together, Frankie had one stipulation: his little girl should have her own room, for when she came to stay.
You’d both agreed that moving into your place was best - you owned it, it was a proper house, as opposed to Frankie’s small rental apartment, and it had a large back garden that you just knew Frankie was scoping out for a swing set and summer barbecue parties.
His lease ended in early December, so it made sense to move in then - but you could tell he was anxious.
“It’s my turn to have her at Christmas,” he explained, “and I’m just - I dunno, I’m just worried she won’t feel at home here, not yet.”
“We don’t have to do this, Frankie,” you’d offered, trying not to let your own anxieties show. “If you feel it would be better for her not to.”
He shook his head and took your hand, bringing it to his mouth and covering it with kisses. “I need to wake up beside you every day, baby. I want this so much.”
“Me too. Frankie - does she like me?”
“C’mon, baby,” he’d sighed, pulling you to him for a hug. “You know she loves you. You know that, right?”
You nodded as he continued. “It’s just…no matter how much she loves you, it’s a new environment. And with Christmas and all, it might be a lot.”
“And that little room isn’t in great shape,” you’d added, cursing your decision to put off decorating the smallest bedroom. “It’s a little…bare.”
Frankie’s dark eyes searched yours as you sucked thoughtfully on the inside of your cheek. “You plotting something, bebita?”
***
Frankie and his daughter’s mom agreed that it would be best to have a couple of trial sleepovers in the weeks leading up to Christmas, just after he’d moved in with you. Better that than expecting a five year old to feel comfortable spending the biggest holiday of their year in an unfamiliar house.
You found him staring into the little box room a few days before his daughter’s first visit. With limited funds, you’d had to make the best of the basics in sprucing it up - a simple white bedframe, with pink and purple bedsheets; a matching nightstand, and a wardrobe. There hadn’t been much left for little touches, save for a pink fluffy rug on the hardwood floor and some brightly-coloured curtains. Frankie’s old place had come fully furnished, so he’d only been able to add a few familiar items from her room there: a small bookcase filled with copies of her favourite books, as well as her toys and dolls that lived with her dad.
You’d tried. He’d tried. But you could tell from his downcast expression that he was still worried.
“She’s got her own bathroom at her mom’s,” he said, eyes revealing how hard he was trying not to offend or hurt you. “That’s Gavin, though.”
Gavin, Frankie’s ex’s partner, was a successful local businessman with a home to match: large, comfortable, perfectly decorated and wanting for nothing. You knew it grated on Frankie, no matter how often his little girl - or her mom, for that matter - reminded him that he was and would always be her daddy, her number one - huge room or no huge room.
“She loved her little room at your old place, Frankie, and this is even more hers - we can paint it and decorate it however she wants, we don’t have to worry about asking for the landlord’s permission.” You reached for his hand and squeezed it. “What matters is that she feels at home here, not how big the room is.”
He’d nodded before changing the subject, asking when you wanted to finish decorating the house for the holidays. As he meandered off to take down a few boxes of decorations from your loft, you stared back into the little room and tried to think.
***
On our way over now. She’s looking forward to seeing you! xxx
On the day of her first stay at your place, Frankie and his little girl had spent the morning hanging out with his mom, doing some Christmas shopping, and visiting their favourite diner for lunch. You sip your coffee at the kitchen table as you wait for them to arrive, hoping this will work out - for Frankie and his daughter’s sakes, above all.
They arrive in a flurry of shopping bags and chatter, the little girl racing into your living room to look at your Christmas tree with her dad. You pop your head around the door frame to say hi, your heart melting at just how like him she is: thick, curly dark hair, olive skin, and those beautiful, sparkling dark eyes.
She smiles her usual sweet, shy smile and runs over to give you a hug. “I’m excited for our sleepover,” she mumbles, voice muffled by the fact that her face is pressed against your leg. “Daddy said I have a whole new room here.”
“And he’s right,” you add, bringing yourself down to her level. “We made a room just for you, for when you come visit here.”
Frankie rubs the back of his neck nervously. “After the holidays we could look at painting the room however you want, mija,” he suggests, pre-empting a less-than-enthusiastic reaction to the little bedroom.
You stand up and offer your hand. “Would you like to come see the room?” Her small hand slots into yours and you trot down the hallway together, the little girl detailing exactly what her abuela had for lunch while her dad follows closely behind.
Frankie had affixed a name sign for her to the bedroom door, and she points at it excitedly. “Maybe Daddy can open the door for you?”, you prompt, and with a deep breath Frankie turns the handle.
You’re not sure who’s more dumbstruck by what they see: Frankie or his little doppelganger. While she starts to wander around the room, mouth slightly open as she takes everything in, he stands just inside the door and keeps looking from the room to you and back again.
“How did…You…How?”
The walls and basic furniture and decor haven’t changed at all, but the room has been transformed since Frankie saw it last with a few simple additions. A stack of folding plastic crates in complementary shades of pink and purple, picked up for a couple of dollars each, stands in the corner, providing storage for art supplies and her toys. You have added a set of stick-on mirrored squares to one wall, creating a sort of full-length mirror that the little girl is already twirling around in front of, her favourite teddy bear in hand. A beanbag with a pink cover is neatly positioned beside the little bookcase, ready to be a perfect reading nook.
But what makes all the difference are fairy lights. One set has been affixed to surround the mirror, entrancing Frankie’s girl as she admires her reflection. Another, this time with pink lights, is wound around the head of her bed, casting her pillows in a warm, rosy glow. And as a seasonal touch, you’ve strung a set of gingerbread man-shaped lights along the top of her wardrobe.
She spins to look at you and Frankie before racing over to him for a tight hug. “Thank you, Daddy. It’s like a magic room.”
He scoops her up and looks at her. “A magic room?”
She nods, expression serious. “With the twinkly lights. It feels like it’s magic.” She wraps her arms around his neck and tells him he is the best.
***
Frankie settles her to sleep that night and returns to flop beside you on the couch. You’re about to pour him some wine when he sits up and mutes the sound on the TV.
“Alright, you didn’t correct her when she thought it was me who did that but I need to know - how.”
You smile as you sip your wine. “What do you mean, how?”
“You know what I mean. The room. The fact you made it look literally magical to her with no budget. How?”
“You just gotta know where to look for bargains, baby,” you explain, thinking about how excited you’d been to find the crates for next to nothing in your favourite bargain store. “And the beanbag is my old one. I just had to get a new cover. Oh - and little girls love fairy lights.”
He shakes his head, amazed and affectionate. “You did all that in a few hours, and for her.”
“For her. For you. But mostly for her. And I’m so glad she likes it.”
