question: how did you discover/get into scooby doo?

this is something i'm always so interested to hear, being that there are few people who don't have at least some small tie to the franchise. whether you would consider it one of your biggest current interests or it's just something nostalgic from your childhood, i'd love to know how you found scooby and what it means to you!

#for me it was my dad! he grew up with the original show and wanted to introduce it to me #so one day when i was maybe? seven?? he came home with the winter wonderdog dvd and we watched it that night #from there we watched every single scooby doo movie that had ever been made #and got the new ones as they came out in subsequent years! #watching a new scooby movie with my dad every weekend are honestly some of my favourite childhood memories #also what's new scooby doo had also started airing on one of the main cartoon channels here in the uk around 2010 #so that's the show i watched the most consistently as a kid #velma was my original favourite of the gang because i looked a lot like her (big glasses/same haircut/etc.) #people would always compare me to her and it genuinely gave me a lot of confidence in my appearance that stays with me to this day #but fred was always my firm second favourite - he made me laugh the most of any character #and took on a deeper meaning to me in my adolescence when i realised i was autistic and strongly identified with his portrayals as such #the characters are probably what's kept me coming back all this time - they've been with me forever #and i love them individually + as a team who support each other with their unique skills and love for one another #but also the wacky adventures and general aesthetic #many people joke about the basic plot being the same every time but it makes my autistic brain happy #i love permanence and consistency baby!!!!! #and the different variations on that same formula always keep things fresh and fun #anyway ramble over #looking forward to hearing you guys' responses! :D #scooby doo #nem misc posts :]

I love that art history nerds confirmed it is supposed to be the real Mona Lisa #I love this movie making the statement that no piece of property could possibly be worth more than human life #and juxtaposing a lifeless painting with a person who is very much living and taking action and improving the world #and I love the way that the Mona Lisa looks almost as though she approves of it in the way Helen looked at her approvingly earlier on. #it's like these two women are sharing a knowing smile across centuries #but it is the real and living one who has something to fight for #I'm STILL on my third watch of the movie because I have to pause every 10 minutes to post about it on Tumblr #I simply have to there's no other way! 😅 #i regret nothing.

i forgot that i had my mother bring over the OG boy tits (bottom) the other day so i could do a comparison between them and the newer ones. Like, the og were made in 2hrs from scraps as a joke, but i didn't expect the difference between them and the new ones to be so drastic.

The biggest difference is the face i think. The og pair has one piece of glass to be both of the birds faces, while the other uses 2, with the features being soldered on instead of just painted on with enamel.

like the new ones are over all much cleaner even if i still have Issues with them bc i made them without using a grinder just to prove you Could do SG without one, but I'm still proud of them. Like, I'm proud of all 4 of my sons, but the younger 2 are my favorites (don't tell their brothers)

Top Left: Nissa is my first D&D character. She's Gnome Bard, and a very bubbly person. There's a lot of color and pattern because she's a maximalist. Unlike most bards, Nissa never gets her way through seduction because she's aroace and that would be too weird in her mind. Due to a phobia of being poisoned through food, she does all the cooking when adventuring.

Top Right: Harleigh is my Hunter for When Twilight Strikes. (A calls her Leigh.) Though she has the reputation for being 'the responsible one' between her and A, she has a well-hidden chaotic side. She used to believe that her work was for the greater good, but that's been called into question as of late and it isn't sitting well with her.

Bottom Left: Amira is one of my characters for Scarlet Hollow. She's Hot + Book Smart, and a very tired lawyer who's working her ass of to pay off her huge student loan (and Vivian's medical bills). Amira foolishly thought she could get some much needed rest in Scarlet Hollow, she was not anticipating dealing with spooky shit and she's not happy about it!

Bottom Right: Riley is my character for Our Life. They are a very sweet but anxious person. The only person in the game they look 'normal' next to is Baxter because they are a goth! Riley's love of all types of games led them to becoming a pro gamer. Later in life, they are part of a dev team for an indie game studio.
