Day 15: Marinette and Lila/Cerise (Faulty; Rock)

This is the full colored version of the Cerisette Rock Band AU.

This happens in the Re-Verse from the Miraculous Paris special: Lila/Cerise and Marinette play rock music and form a duo together before merging with the Kitty Resistance (Rose, Juleka, Luka and Ivan). Lila/Cerise plays electric guitar and Marinette plays keyboard. And they make an illegal concert. In this AU, the Supreme from the Re-Verse has forbidden the music. The latter's logo gets vandalized.

Lila/Cerise's hair is a wig with a sky-blue dye. Marinette is just Emonette-Shadybug.

Marinette is the Ladybug and Cerise is the new Hesperia for this concept.

We can see Marinette is blushing about her music partner.

About their music, the two girls compose the instrumental part. It's the band Kitty Resistance who perfoms the vocal and parts.

Adrien's feather allergy as foreshadow of his status as sentimonster is reaching on fandom part. But fandom claimed Felix being one isn't. His name being the episode name definitely foreshadowing his status as sentimonste, considering in s1-3, the episode always named after either akuma or sentimonster bar the Origins. That's what I call foreshadowing. Not whatever feather BS people like to claim.

Felix being a sentimonster is just make senses, always make senses for me, considering he seems harbor a jealousy toward Adrien especially at his remark "You always do everything your father tells you to do?" Considering as sentimonster he couldn't disobey whoever had his amok while human Adrien can disobey anytime he want yet choose not to, in his view.

Then come s4 and 5 with a huge retcon.

Also prior to s4 I don't believe the rings is amok, Felix want it because his mother want it since it's her family heirloom. Again, make senses that she want one of it considering Emilie is dead at this point. She has the right to own one of her family heirloom, Gabriel don't.

One of the episode in s5 implied that Felix always know that the rings are amok and this doesn't make senses if we were to connect back to his debut episode where he just give the ring he stole to his mother, even if say Amelie is a better parents/human than Gabriel, Felix who claimed to love his cousin and want to free him, should know better than to give his cousin's amok to his mother. The math is just not mathing, unless Felix doesn't know the rings are the amok in his debut episode and only know later which is a huge plot hole.

The retcon isn't inherently bad per se, in initial plot Luka is supposed to be Juleka's brother older by two years, s4 retcon him to be her twin. This isn't a problem because it's a minor thing that people either doesn't notice or doesn't care. But when what retconned is almost about the whole world building and lore, that's when it become a big problem. S4 onward doesn't seems like the same series as it's prior season.

Would you also argue that Nathalie is a sentimonster given the name of the final episode of season two?

And what about the first episode of the origins two parter? Does this mean that Marinette and Adrien are both not humans?

In seasons 1 to 4, episodes were mostly named for akumas and sentimonsters, but it wasn't a hard rule, so that's a pretty weak argument for Felix being a sentimonster. Even if he was human, he's still the episode's main antagonist, so naming it after him isn't weird even if he was fully human. This is extra true since Chat Noir was originally named Felix, so calling the episode "Felix" apparently drove up hype from fans who were saddened by the change. People wanted to see Felix make at least a cameo and would even pester the head writer about it prior to this episode. A lot of people wanted him to be a former Chat Noir or Adrien's older brother or something like that. You can find a lot of fanfics that did this long before season three was even airing.

Plus what else would you call this episode? There wasn't a single akuma, there were three, and "Princess Fragrance, Lady Wifi, Reflekta" is both an awkward name and something of a spoiler since I think this was the first time that we saw one item lead to multiple akumas.

ALL THAT BEING SAID, I would actually buy that Felix was planned to be a sentimonster from the start. That doesn't feel like a retcon in the same way that Adrien and Kagami do because there is some setup for Felix. The "always do what your told" line fits him being a senti and evil "twins" are often revealed to be magical in origin in these kinds of shows. Plus sentimonsters were a thing at this point, so yeah, I'd totally buy it.

The big reason I still call it a retcon is because of the issue you bring up about the rings. The way they're handled in that episode makes no sense if they're supposedly Adrien's amoks because how would Felix even know that? Who told him? Amelie?

I mean, I'd buy that Amelie knew because it's implied that she was somewhat close to her sister, but that just raises more questions! Why is she demanding her nephew's amok? Why does she give it to Felix? What does she think he's going to do with it? What is going on here?

And, of course, there's the biggest issue of them all: why is Gabriel only mildly annoyed that Felix and Amelie have Adrien's amok? If that was me, I'd be demanding it back! I'd be sending akumas! I'd go to war! You are not controlling my kid!

But Gabriel does nothing. He just waits for Felix to bring it back in the next season. Like this is how he greets Ameilie the next time he sees her:

Amelie: Gabriel! I'm so happy to be able to thank you in person for giving our family's ring (kisses his cheeks) back to Félix. Gabriel: It was the sensible thing to do, Amelie. Adrien: That was very thoughtful of you, Father.

Dude, what are you doing? Why didn't you just tell her that Felix stole the ring? What is going on here? Why does this episode (Gabriel Agreste) end will Gabriel totally fine that he didn't get the ring back because he finally got his hands on one of Ladybug's magical charms? It seriously comes across like he the completely forgot about the ring even though this is the season where Adrien is finally foreshadowed to be a sentimonster! Writers, what are you doing???

A better version of the episode Felix would see Felix show up with the goal of learning if Adrien is also a sentimonster and - if yes - figuring out what the amok is. Have Gabriel give Adrien a command to be nice to Felix so Felix is a total brat to see what his cousin will do. This would be excellent foreshadowing because you could do all of that without directly stating what Felix is doing, but once the reveal happens, it would be a major "oh!" moment on a rewatch.

As-is, the episode is just weird. It may have been intending to set Felix up as a sentimonster, but why? What was the plan? What's with the rings? Why did Felix try to take away all of Adrien's friends and ruin his reputation? There are just so many questions raised here that - sentimonster or not - Felix was still massively retconned.

I will also agree that a retcon isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the writers claim to have planned everything out which is why I will point out every one as it clearly refutes that claim. Plus most of them aren't minor things like the weirdness of Luka's age. It's big stuff like all of the above, which does negatively impact the show. Everything about Felix is extremely unsatisfying and I don't think we're getting answers to any of the questions I asked in this post.

Lila: Introduced at the end of Season 1 to be important later on. LilaSeason2.exe corrupted, only small cameo in Heroes Day recovered. Lila Season 3: Gets hired by Gabriel Agreste to watch over his son, after multiple incidents of her attacking him when akumatized. But she tried to get Oni-Chan to kill Ladybug so that warrants something. Tries to get Marinette expelled in Ladybug through backwards logic, pretending Marinette threw her down the stairs despite having no injuries. Then goes "I have mental illness so Marinette can come back please". Lila Season 4: Barely a cameo role. She finds out Gabriel in Monarch during the events of Strikeback I think. Lila Season 5: Lila is worse than Monarch, worse than Thanos, worse than Darkseid. Her plans are more layered than onions. Three moms, totally plausible. Surely this is all properly set up in the show for her to be Season 6 main big bad.

Lila’s been so on again off again that now that they’re building her up to be a permanent threat I can’t take her seriously

I’m watching ‘Ladybug and Chat Noir: Awakening’ (you can watch a really bad quality bootleg recording on most pirating sites right now), these are my reactions while I’m watching . A lot of the points won’t make sense unless you’ve seen it too I’m sorry 😭

- the character designs are so cute

- the romance feels a lil rushed. Because they spent the first half hour almost exclusively on marinette and setting up her character/insecurities/etc and all the romantic development was in a montage. Now there’s a love song and theyre in love and it feels very underdeveloped to be at this stage already

- this song is cute though I can’t make out the majority of the words but in-love ladynoir content has my heart

- no marichat so far . Waiting patiently

- they haven’t set the love square up to its full potential 💔💔

- ok nevermind they kind of have, ladybug rejected chat noir for adrien, she asked adrien out and he rejected her for ladybug. But there has been no ladybug + adrien interactions or chat noir + marinette interactions yet

- omg gabriel adrien angst omg gabe is so much less of a dislikable character, they actually gave him some depth . Adrien is full on yelling at Gabriel and gabe actually looks like he cares about his son

- this bootleg is terrible quality but even with the bad quality the quality is so obviously good

- I’ve gotten used to the marinette singing voice and now I just love it

- this movie is so dramatic with the love songs and songs about insecurities, I feel like it’s that movie ladybug made fun of in the show

- this is what ppl wanted for the show . adrien being resentful at first, Gabriel hit in the face with his own guilt and mistakes, having a genuine moment of self reflection, adrien forgiving him and gabe changing instead of getting his wish and being remembered as a hero, plus all of paris finding out hawkmoth was Gabriel, etc. I love this

FINAL THOUGHTS!

obvs it isn’t canon but I love this adaptation. The superpowers are portrayed as powerful as they actually are, there’s more drama and angst which I needed, the timeline is VERY different to the show. Marinette stands up for herself to chloe the same day that ladybug and chat noir reveal their identities, so it’s like the origins episode of season 1 mixed with one of the various identity reveals from season 4. Also she’s not friends with any of her class other than alya, adrien and nino, so it’s also kind of pre-origins vibes. Idk, it was really good and I can’t wait to watch it in better quality, with captions, and without ads playing every half hour

Also I’m forever thankful that there was no lila rossi storyline

MLB - Season 5 - Episodes 25 and 26

Conformation (Final Day 1)

Time for some very normal and extremely hinged Gabriel and Tomoe plans. Like, Gabe at least has the excuse of having his brain literally rotted with magic and also dying actively, but Tomoe is just kinda nuts on her own and that's honestly kinda worse.

As I said. Very normal, extremely hinged, these two.

What a genuinely unhinged nightmare.

Now she has power of god and anime on her side and she wil kick his ass.

Re-creation (Final Day 2)

Look at Marinette, beating the shit out of dying man.

Oh, look cameos from the specials that I haven't watched and with the exception of the Paris one, I probably won't watch either.

Fucking hell, he's falling apart.

And into the basement we go.

And everyone shows up for the big showdown.

Look at those god-forms. And God themselves.

Yeah, okay that was genuinely moving.

Even Gabe eventually deciding to do the right thing. Ish.

I saw the Miraculous Awakening Movie. I’ll leave a review or something later.

My predictions for the second movie.

1. Nathalie becomes Mayura and is the big villain for the sequel and sentimonsters would be a major problem.

Ok, just imagine Nathalie as a major villain in the next movie. She’s smart and can use sentimonsters to easily fool Ladybug and Chat Noir.

She can create Sentibug to trick Chat Noir like in the tv show.

2. Luka is introduced as a major character and a love triangle starts.

Before you say anything. I know Luka made a few small cameos in the movie and i know we had a identity reveal already and Mari and Adrien are together.

But what if something goes wrong for Marinette and Adrien. Like the new enemy or something shows up and they start having relationship problems due to the superhero stuff or something and Luka shows up and becomes friends with Mari.

Luka is the civilian side for Mari, away from the superhero talk stuff. They hang out and start falling for each other.

But of course, Mari is gonna realize dating Luka is hard due to being a superhero and be forced to break up with him and get back with Adrien/Chat Noir.

3. The other heroes are chosen by their kwami’s like Tikki and Plagg did for Mari and Adrien and this time their identities are kept secret.

I liked the idea of the kwami’s choosing their holders like what Plagg and Tikki did in the movie. I wonder how that would work out, especially for Chloe. Will her identity be a secret this time?

4. Fu loses the butterfly miraculous again somehow and Lila shows up at the end and becomes the new Hawkmoth or Lila steals it from Fu or Nooroo chosen Lila.

I don’t know how this would happen. Maybe he dropped it somewhere or Lila figures out he has the butterfly miraculous and steals it from him while he’s not paying attention.

But I also like the idea that Nooroo wanting a good holder and mistakingly thinks that Lila is good person and chooses her.

5. Gabriel is still a villain and working behind the scenes while in jail and still in contact with Nathalie.

Ok, he was redeem as a father but remember he knows the identity of Ladybug and Chat Noir. Maybe he still wants the ladybug/cat miraculous to make his wish. So he tells Nathalie everything. He plans everything to avoid hurting/attacking Adrien and try to steal the miraculous from him another way.

6. The second movie immediately starts where the first movie ends and Bunnyx shows up in front of Marinette and Adrien.

Just imagine before Mari and Adrien kiss or after, Bunnyx shows up in front of them, telling them something is wrong. I don’t know what the problem would be, but I would love to see Bunnyx just randomly showing up.

Miraculous: Chloenette (MLB Femslash February)

Day 8: Chloé and Marinette (Lonely; Skirt)

This is a Chloenette piece related to the @mlbfemslashfebruary event (With Soqueline's cameo).

This happens in an AU:

Chloé is in love of Marinette since childhood

There isn't any bullying thing

But Chloé keeps some aspects of her Queen persona (a little more Tsundere than Himedere, openly insulting but with a hidden good side)

Soqueline is still Marinette's protector (as in canon)

Soqueline is doubtful towards Chloé because of the latter's "mean" attitude and "mean" actions toward Marinette

In this scene, Chloé has invited Marinette in the Grand Hôtel for clean a personal thing with her tonight. This time, Chloé wears a bee-themed skirt (that completing her pajamas).

Mari and Chloé are in the latter's bedroom.

Interesting how from season 1-4 the episodes were named after the akumas or senti that would appear, but season 5′s relate to the powers of the miraculouses.

*Horse - Teleportation, (has to do with moving from one place to another, therefore I paired to episode 13).

*11. Deflagration (an explosion in which the speed of burning is lower than the speed of sound in the surroundings).

*24. Representation, can also mean “depiction”, “image”, “portrayal”, “copy”, “delineation”, “design”, “duplicate”, “enactment”, “exhibition”, “illustration”, “imitation”, “impersonation”, “impression”, “likeness”, “narration”, “personification”, “reproduction”.

Makes me speculate it takes place in Gabriel’s “Wish” and follows him in his new life (it also shows the other main characters as cameos). As time goes by, Gabriel realises it’s not the same, something is wrong. Adrien and Nathalie (if she’s still around and hasn’t sacrificed herself to bring Emilie back, thus wiping herself from existence) are not the ones he knew. Emilie herself is off.

*25. Conformation (the structure or outline of an item or entity, determined by the arrangement of its parts). 

The “wish world” starts falling apart and Gabriel, desperate to remedy his mistake, seeks help to restore the old reality. He finds Fu, explains everything and together they search for Marinette to restore reality with the power of creation.

Master Fu Was a Good Mentor Actually.

When Season 1 came out well, “Origins” wasn’t the debut in any country. So we just had to the show at face value in terms of two teenagers being superheroes facing off against a villain that created minions of his own. The question was... how did they get their powers? Why were they, kids of all people, deemed worthy of them?

Did their Kwami scout them out? Was there some higher power at work that determined who got the Miraculous? How did Hawk Moth get his own? Why wasn’t this person, if there was one, guiding our heroes like a real mentor should? The answers came with “Origins” be it after “Volpina” or as a mid-season premiere and... were not what we expected.

Master Wang Fu is not some mystical guardian of the Miracle Box but rather an old man who’s lived for a long time. Rather than sensing the innate goodness in a potential hero’s heart via mystical means, he subtly sets up tests of character for who may each wield the two most powerful miraculouses in the world.

It could’ve been Marinette who saved him from the car or maybe not. It could’ve been Adrien who helped him up and got him his cane or maybe not. What mattered was that those who did would do so without any desire for fame or glory? Marinette could’ve been hit by the car. Adrien could’ve gone into class if he just ignored the random old coot. Yet this showed their true colors anyways.

Thus another test was made: giving them the Miraculous and allowing them into the field alone. When Hawk Moth inevitably made his move, Fu would need to see if the heroes would jump into action themselves to save Paris. If they couldn’t deal, they’d willingly let their Kwamis go off and let him retrieve them.

Yet they went to help save Ivan as Stone Heart anyways. Marinette would feel unworthy after failing to de-evilize the Akuma but bounce back come Round 2. Fu would only view them from a distance and hardly appear in Season 1 aside from a cameo in “Princess Fragrance” and “Anti-Bug” before Tikki took Marinette for a formal meeting in Volpina.

All the while, Marinette and Adrien operate autonomously without any Zordon-figures or some government official to answer to. Season 1 has Fu silently view from the shadows how his chosen heroes are allowed to flourish and craft their own way without anybody imposing on their lives. As we learn in “Feast” and with Su-Han, this flies right in the face of what the Order tried to instill in him.

When Marinette meets him, he entrusts him with the knowledge of each Miraculous and their powers off-screen. She’s never told what to use when a battle calls for extra help and trusted with her own judgement. So much so that “Kwamibuster” demonstrates her using the Mouse without a rundown of how to use it or even how to unify Miraculous, using Multitude to share the load.

It’s even implied that she knows the Kwamis on a personal basis based on how she gets on Kahlki’s case for her high expectations of Max. Hell, he gave her the Horse Miraculous in case she needed to teleport back from London and back so she could enjoy just being a teen.

Yes, he’s not exactly an active mentor who trains his chosen heroes but one only needs resolve to use a Miraculous and what their powers entail. Even then, his short-comings are a result of a lack of formal training and defiance of that training. In a way, it made him better than his forebearers in some ways.

Fu knows all too well that any hero is capable of messing up big time and hardly holds it against Ladybug for the events of “Miracle Queen.” He doomed his own order and was made an illegitimate Guardian purely because he was the only survivor of his own failure. Who better to succeed him than one who has know failure but persists to do the right thing anyways?
