part four .
They would go together to Gwangju.
It wasn’t worth sitting around, waiting for someone to save them. There was new life on its way. There was no reason not to go.
Giwook healed rather fast, considering the circumstances. He slept through his pains for the most part, sweating out the more intense waves as Yonghoon would hold a wet cloth to his forehead. Jaehyun had led the group towards their motor home, which they had parked in a field on the other side of the woods. Whenever Dongmin would try and walk towards the wounded boy, Dongsung would hurriedly pick up his son and scoop him away, but each time it brought a smile to Giwook’s face.
“He’s cute,” Giwook managed to muster out. The group exchanged looks at the sound of Giwook’s deep and hoarse voice. Dongsung smiled towards him before sitting down in front of one of the tents. Dongmin sucked his thumb as he nuzzled his head in his father’s neck.
“So you’ve just been waiting here?” Harin asked that night as him and Rin worked to build the fire. Haejoo was inside their motorhome, feeding Dongmin, while Dongsung and Jaehee worked to tidy things up before their departure.
“Pretty much. It’s felt rather safe anyway, only came across a handful of chompers,” Rin explained as they threw a couple branches into the fire pit. Flecks of burning ash flew above the flame, then fell peacefully onto the ground. Yonghoon reached for a canteen as he looked down at Giwook. The younger boy was fast asleep, chest slowly rising and falling with the rhythm of his breaths. Yonghoon softly pressed his hand to the boy’s forehead. He wasn’t burning up anymore.
Harin slowly paced around the area, the crunching of the leaves and branches under his feet adding to the crackling from the fire. Yonghoon unscrewed the cap to the canteen and took a small sip. He felt Rin’s eyes following his small movements.
“What did you guys do?” she asked, her piercing eyes digging through their very souls like daggers. “Before everything…you know.”
Yonghoon let out a small chuckle at the question. Harin looked over at him, then at Rin, then back at his feet. Everyone stayed quiet. Hyungu looked at Yonghoon from across the firepit, eyes somber in the orange light. Yonghoon felt a pang in his chest for a moment as he reminisced on what things used to be like. Before.
“I was in vocational school. Fun times,” Harin chuckled as he kicked at the dirt.
“Does it matter anymore?” Hyungu interjects after a small moment of stillness. Coming from anyone else, Yonghoon would have maybe laughed, but Hyungu sounded serious. “We’re here now. What was past…is irrelevant now.” He threw a stray branch into the fire. Rin sat down next to him, looked at him like they were examining him. He just stared back.
Jaehyun kneeled in front of the flame and held out his hands for warmth.
“He’s right,” Jaehyun added. “We’re here now.”
Yonghoon looked down at Giwook, who had been stirring around in his spot. He tucked the blanket covering him into the boy’s sides. He thought what Hyungu said was true—being here now, though, he had something to care about. Someone. He didn’t care if the rest of them made it to Gwangju or not, at least not yet, but he just wanted Giwook to feel comfortable. There was a weird, foreign urge to keep the boy safe, even though they barely knew each other.
Jaehyun then went inside the motorhome, shortly returning with a bucket of water. He grabbed a makeshift table made from sticks and rope, set the bucket on top, then carefully placed it over the fire. He then brushed off his hands, wiping them on his jeans, and disappeared into his respective tent. Yonghoon then realized they didn’t have another tent for his group.
“Um, where are we sleeping?” Yonghoon asked at the thought, looking around their little campsite. There was Jaehyun’s tent, and they had already packed the other one into the motorhome.
“Who said you were sleeping?” Rin joked, but nobody laughed except for Yonghoon, who was fake laughing. As if on cue, Dongsung walked out the side of the RV with a blanket in his hand.
“There’s a little booth inside the van,” Dongsung spoke as he looked over the pale sitting above the fire. “Two of you can sleep there. Won’t be able to lie down, but it’s better than sitting out here. Jaehee and Rin will stay in the tent, I’ll sit out here and keep watch.”
Although the idea of closing his eyes and drifting off into a place very far away from earth sounded like pure bliss, Yonghoon knew deep down that he wouldn’t even be able to sleep, given Giwook’s condition and the fact that he didn’t really know these people. He almost found it suspicious how welcoming they all were. Didn’t even question his group—maybe because the profuse bleeding of Giwook’s leg made them desperate enough, but besides—maybe, Yonghoon was so devoid of humanity, it didn’t make sense. People still being kind after everything.
Harin and Hyungu slept inside the motorhome. As much as he wanted to, Yonghoon didn’t make much small talk with Dongsung. Yonghoon kept nodding off, but whenever he felt his head start to drop, he awakened right away, then would look down at Giwook. The younger boy didn’t wake up at all during the night.
They packed up at sunrise. Dongsung woke up Jaehyun and Jaehee and Rin as soon as he saw the slightest peak of the sun. Jaehyun demolished the tent, packed up their things, then started pouring the purified water from the bucket and into their canteens. Eventually, Harin walked out of the RV, letting out a big yawn. As Dongsung and Jaehyun worked to load things up, Yonghoon watched Giwook. He was still asleep.
Yonghoon placed a hand on the boy’s shoulder, kept it there for a moment, then started to shake him awake.
“Giwook,” he almost-whispered. “Giwook.”
The younger boy shifted as he awoke. He winced as he tried to move his leg, forgetting the gaping wound that was still healing. Yonghoon put a hand on Giwook’s forehead, feeling his body temperature. It had gone down since the night before, which was a good sign, and they needed a good omen that morning.
“We’re gonna start moving, okay? Can you get up for me?” Yonghoon asked with a softness in his voice he seemed to reserve for only Giwook. Hyungu walked over to the two, squatting on the opposite side of Giwook. Hyungu helped him sit up, and Giwook groaned. Yonghoon rubbed his back as he tried to comfort him. He rubbed his eyes, then looked down at his leg, sighing deeply.
“How’s it feeling?” Yonghoon asked. Giwook leaned back on his hands.
“Better, but it still hurts,” he answered. “How long will we be on the road?”
Yonghoon smiled to himself as he noticed how much more talkative Giwook had been. Dongsung had walked by to grab the last of their things to load into the motorhome, and when he heard Giwook talking as well, he smiled over at Yonghoon. He reached down into his duffel, pulling out a pill bottle.
“I’ve been saving these for emergencies, but I think he’s been through enough. We’ll give him one for now, see if it works,” Dongsung said as he crouched down next to Hyungu. He grabbed a single tablet from the bottle, handing it to Giwook. Yonghoon scoured for his water bottle, then brought it to Giwook’s mouth after he placed the pill on his tongue. As soon as Giwook swallowed, Yonghoon and Hyungu helped him stand.
“He’ll ride with me and Haejoo, just so I can keep an eye on him,” Dongsung said, voice louder as he walked over to the camper. He opened the door for Hyungu and Yonghoon to help Giwook inside, and after they struggled up the steps, they laid Giwook down on the long bench, making sure his leg was elevated.
Giwook looked up at the ceiling, trying to keep his focus. He had been going in and out all night. He had trouble discerning what was real and what wasn’t—at one point he heard someone singing, but when he looked up, no one was moving their lips at any point. He also heard a walker sneak up behind him, but that obviously wasn’t real, for he was still alive, pondering on what was reality and what wasn’t.
But the sound of Haejoo’s groans were real as ever as she winced on the opposite side of the RV hunched over the table of the booth. He looked over at her, then over at Dongsung as he entered the vehicle again.
“What’s wrong, love?” he asked as he tended to her immediately. Rin and Jaehee quickly followed.
“It hurts,” she moaned. “I think I’m having contractions. I don’t know.”
Dongsung’s eyes widened, and he grabbed the same pill bottle he used for Giwook. “Just one for now, love. Try to close your eyes—we’re leaving now, okay? It’ll be a couple hours.”
Haejoo nodded as she leaned her head back. Rin went to the sink, grabbing a towel from the cabinet above, wetting it and wringing it out. They quickly returned to Haejoo and placed the towel on her forehead.
“I’ll watch her, Jaehee will watch Giwook. We should probably leave now,” Rin suggested. Dongsung nodded and walked toward the front of the vehicle, sitting down behind the wheel.
The drive to Gwangju was long, but calm for that matter. Haejoo slept well, and so did Giwook, despite the bumpy roads and occasionally driving over Walkers. Thankfully, Giwook didn’t have any more weird nightmares or hallucinations—he managed to actually sleep. He thought maybe the soft music Dongsung played had helped with the fact. Yonghoon, Hyungu, and Harin followed closely behind Yonghoon, Jaehyun and Hyungu in the Honda, Harin on his motorcycle. At one point, Harin zoomed ahead of them like the impatient guy he was. Yonghoon and Hyungu made small talk, and at one point, started talking about their lives before it all broke out, until the sound of Haejoo’s screams interrupted them.
They could hear it from the inside of the RV. The shrill sound of her yelping made Yonghoon’s heart sink into his chest, especially considering the fact that there were stray Walkers all around, and they immediately took note of the sound. More began to emerge from the surrounding areas, getting closer and closer to the group. Harin was out of sight by then—fortunately for him.
Haejoo started throwing up. The pain continued to grow as time passed. Her screams grew louder as well, up to the point where Giwook sacrificed his comfortable position laying down for her. He wanted to help, but felt useless. Haejoo gripped Rin’s hand tight as Jaehee kept petting her hair, trying to grant her some relief.
“Just hang on, dear, a little longer to go,” Dongsung shouted from the front of the vehicle. Dongmin was sitting in the passenger’s seat at the time, covering his ears from the commotion going on in the back.
Yonghoon slowed down as he struggled to maneuver through the pile of Walkers surrounding them. He plowed through the herd as he accelerated. Hyungu kept looking behind them at the crowd, half of which were dismantled from Yonghoon’s car running them over.
“Looks like they’re slowing down, just keep going. Pass them if you need to,” Hyungu instructed, referencing the other vehicle. Yonghoon felt guilty leaving them behind, but God, were they going slow as ever. Yonghoon sped past them, up to where the road stretched into an overpass, high enough to be unable to see the other side. Hyungu looked behind them, and the RV was free of any lingering Walkers, and they sped up to reach their distance on the overpass.
Yonghoon let out a deep breath as he looked behind through the rearview mirror. “Haejoo’s definitely going into labor in there,” he commented, imagining the chaos that was probably going on inside. He quickly ignored the thought as they crossed the overpass, onto a road just next to a big building that looked like something of a prison. They looked and noticed a giant line of people outside.
“That’s it,” Jaehyun commented. Yonghoon slowed down as he looked over to the building. There were no signs, no indicators of what it was—just the bricks and barbed wire fences that made up the place, along with a small group of people working outside.
They made the exit off the highway, onto a dirt road that led up to the building. Yonghoon slowed down as they neared. The RV sped ahead of them and parked on the side of the open space in front of the building. Dongsung quickly emerged, motioning for the others in the car to help them.
“She’s having contractions. Is this the place? Are you sure of it?” Dongsung panicked. Jaehyun nodded.
“I think I saw first-aid tents behind the building. There’s all these people. This has to be it,” he explained. Yonghoon walked past the two and into the RV, where Haejoo was lying on her back, Rin, Jaehee, Dongmin and Giwook watching closely. Giwook and Yonghoon stood behind as Hyungu and Dongsung tried to help her stand. Rin and Jaehee stood behind closely as Haejoo walked off the vehicle, into Jaehyun’s arms as she collapsed.

Chahun “Boyfriend Headcanons”
A/N: i really get toooooooo invested in these I apologize
Seunghyub version // Chahun version //Jaehyun version// Hweseung version // Dongsung version
Tumblr media
- okay I always refer to Chahun as emo boy
- because well he loves MCR and have you seen his highschool picture???
- if not here you go:
Tumblr media
- He seems quite moody at time and kind of scary??? that’s not the right word but idk what else to use
- But anyways don’t misread his expressions because 9/10 times there is nothing wrong
- Chahun is really sweet
- Like idk how else to describe it
- Chahun would be the sweetest boyfriend
- he’s so goofy in an odd way and has such a unique sense of humor
- okay okay when it comes to the first date i think he’d want to play it relaxed
- Now we all know Chahun is a good cook and can do it all.
- So maybe inviting you over for a home cooked dinner
- it would put him at ease because he’s in his home environment and he would easily be able to find something to talk about should the conversation lack
- the food would be amazing too, leaving you pretty surprised
-if the evening goes well he might make some drinks because he’s good at that too
- and most importantly, he’d introduce to Romang
- But that’s only if it goes well
- we all know Romang is Chahun’s son and if Romang doesn’t like you
- You’re out
- So you need to be a cat person or become one fast
- anyways Chahun is a bit more adventurous when it comes to how far he takes things on the first date
- Will ask to kiss you
- the kiss will probably escalate maybe even a little tongue
-His hands would be very courteous however
- One
- but when you pull away he’d have pink ears and probably will avoid eye contact for the first minute after the kiss
- When the date is over I can just see him laying in bed, one arm behind his head and the other petting Romang as he ran over the events from the date with a soft smile
- Chahun is a great listener
- Will always sit and listne intently if you want to tell him something orjust rant
- he’s always there to listen
- Cheering you up isn’t really his forte but he manages to do it anyways
- he understands that he can’t solve all of your problems but he can hold you and make sure you know you can get through everything
- he does it with words and small encouraging actions
- he’s really sweet like that
- Chahun isn’t particularly cuddly but if you asked
- he would do anything for you
- so if you need cuddles and comfort he is there
- very much the stereotypical head on his chest with his arm wrapped around you and the other hand petting Romang
-When he’s upset it’s a bit more complex
- he doesn’t really like talking about it so forcing it out of him isn’t a good idea
-he’ll talk about it eventually he just needs to be ready
- but once he is there is no stopping him
- it can be quite funny when he’s ranting because he comes up with very animated insults to the things or people that are bothering him
- likes it when you rub his back as he rants tho
- Also sleeping together (not sexually) is really nice??
- Just a hand lightly on your waist
- nothing to suffocating
- no pressing against you or anything unless that’s what you really want
- but he himself finds cuddling while sleeping uncomfortable because of the limbs that fall asleep and the incapability to move
-However mornings with Chahun are the best
- sleepy conversations as you run your fingers through his hair
- also Chahun’s morning voice?? sexy
- Okay so arguments
- Chahun can be bitchy
- Especially when he’s mad at you or you’re mad at eachother
- Snide comments and glares which are mildly terrifying if the one spaghetti one chicken taco video has taught us anything
- But apologies are always incredibly heartfelt
- the type to look into your eyes and pour his soul out to you in sorrys
- also that little pout of his when he does it
- it’s very hard to resist
- soft kisses after soft sorrys very fitting as well
- Chahun is kind of a sucker for kissing your forehead and nose
- he just enjoys it
- Chahun like Jaehyun enjoys gaming and would love to play video games with you
- really doesn’t care if he wins or loses
- he just likes looking at how focussed you are on the screen while playing
- Another thing he just likes doing with you is watching tv with you
- Like getting completely invested in a tv show with you and watching every episode together
- he just finds it so intimate to share something like that together
- Also don’t watch an episode without him to him that’s like top 10 anime betrayals
- Now I feel like any guy in a band would find it awesome to teach their s/o how to play instruments
- Chahun is no exception
- However as you sit inbetween his legs holding his guitar
- he can’t hold back his laughter at how cheesy the whole thing is
- But in the end will teach you pretty good
- He can be quite serious when he wants to be
- Don’t forget sitting behind the scenes of 2idiots videos
- Trying whatever horrible concoction that they make
- it’s honestly amazing to witness Chahun’s and Jaehyun’s crazy antics
- Alot like Jaehyun he likes going out for drinks
- Trying new beers
- weird cocktails on the menu at a bar
- he thinks it’s fun and finds it nice to take you out in the evening
- He thinks the way you giggle when you’re a little drunk is fantastic
- When it comes to jealousy I think he can get pretty jealous
- Turns pouty when he notices something or someone that isn’t him might possibly have your attention
- I think he’s a little insecure so he just needs a bit of reassurance
- his jealousy isn’t anything outrageous or anything it’s subtle
- but he does make it known
- tightening his grip around your waist as you talk to someone
- As long as you make sure he’s okay and that there isn’t a serious problem, he’ll be okay
- ALSO if you surprise him by matching your hair color to his
- he will be so happy
- he would find it so cute and sweet and it’s just something that he would greatly appreciate
Let’s go to the naughty naughty
Tumblr media
-I’ve noticed when it comes to N.Flying I’m not that good with smut
- so bare with me
- Chahun is a dom .
- Not super dom or anything really intense but he does prefer being in charge
- even if he’s not on top, 7/10 he’s in control
- He finds lingerie incredibly sexy
- finding you all dressed up for him and looking oh so good
- He thinks it’s art
- into marking, giving and receiving
- thinks it looks amazing having your thighs covered in marks
- He doesn’t ever get too rough but he has his moments
- but eye contact is a big thing so doggy isn’t really for him
- would rather be face to face with you
- He’s not that loud during sex
- you need to remind him that it’s hot when guys make noise during sex and that it’s okay
- Soft sex is a totally different thing however
- both of you laying on your sides
- your arms wrapped around the back of his neck as he whispers sweet things to you
- holds you incredibly close in these moments and they tend to occur in the morning
- when he has that sexy morning voice I was talking about earlier
- Chahun very much likes using his hands on you
- feeling contrast of your soft skin with his rough fingers drives him wild
- Big sucker for blow jobs
- like big big big sucker for blow jobs
- That image of you on your knees in front of him is what he get’s off to when you’re not around
- I feel like he’s experienced but not the type to sleep around
- he’s probably had some relationships in the past
- Also not to mention all that time in sex ed in highschool
- “You have to learn how to do it right” Chahun ~ 2k18
- Aftercare
- long talks that lead into naps and sleeping
- Chahun laying on his back staring at the ceiling as your head rests on his chest
- talking about everything, ANYTHING
- You solve the problems of the world after sex
- but he’s never rough to the point of needing to check you physically
- but he does like to see how dark and intense the marks are that he left
- kisses them gently always making sure you aren’t hurting in any way
- As you guys slowly drift to sleep with conversation
- you can’t help but notice the small features of his
- the way his lips curl slightly like a cat
- the way his lashes seem to go on for miles
- the way his eyes sparkles a little
- You need to find exactly the right moment to tell him these things though
- after sex is when he’s the softest so it’s perfect
- he can’t help but laugh at your compliments a little
- but he appreciates them none the less
- no one really compliments him like that
- so he takes it kindly and return the favor
- kissing the features of yours he loves the most
- because he loves you the most, however you have to share that spot with Romang
Tumblr media
A/N; I get way to carried away with these lmao. Anyways enjoy???!!!

Surrounded (Mafia Crossover AU)(Part 8)
~Megan~
Masterlist
Day6/N.Flying/The Rose/Like any other kband honestly x Reader
Warnings: Violence, self-harm
Word Count: 2.1k
Part 1
“Y/N! Y/N!”
Sungjin barged into your room. There you were, lying on the bed. You didn't seem to be conscious. He rushed up to you.
“Y/N?”
You didn't wake. He shook you a little, careful not to hurt you. The result was your eyes opening slowly. When you saw Sungjin, you flinched.
“Don't hurt me, please!” you begged. “I didn't mean to…”
“I know. Woosung has done things like this before.”
You covered your face with your hands and he saw your body start to shake. “And I've done just as bad things…”
“You don't… know that. You've got your own mind today. When you did those things, you were being controlled.”
You peeked at him from behind your fingers. “Sungjin… why did they hate you in the first place?”
“Well… you know how most Mafias are related, like family?”
“Yeah.”
“Well, Day6 isn't related. We were created by JYP, our boss, to oppose some other Mafia causing chaos. Ever since then, we've mostly been here to get rid of rogue Mafias like The Rose.”
“Why are they rogue?”
Sungjin sighed. “Y/N, there are some things I can tell you. Other things, other people can.” He paused. “I'm giving you an assignment, alright?”
You bit your lip, scratching at your arms. Sungjin gripped your hands tightly, stopping you from furthering your self-harm. You took in a shaky breath.
“It's not scary. I want you to interview the Mafia members you meet, any of them. Find out as much as you can about all this stupid Mafia stuff.”
You furrowed your brows, suddenly confused. “Oh… okay?”
He chuckled, helping you off the bed. “I propose you start with Day6. Since I'm here, why not begin here?”
You warily nodded. “Uh, then… Sungjin, why is it called Day6 if you only have five members?” You already knew half of this, of course, but you needed to know more.
He cringed and looked down. Then he was saved from the question when his phone rang in his pocket. He scrunched his face apologetically and answered the call, going out into the hall. You didn't expect him to come back, so you headed to the bathroom.
To your delight, a set of new clothes sat on a stool inside, next to a shower. You didn't realize how gross you felt until you smelled the fresh and clean flowery smell—almost like roses.
You happily leapt into the shower and scrubbed yourself raw, making sure to avoid worsening your injuries. The joy you got from simply washing your hair was unreal. You felt like singing, but unfortunately you didn't know any songs.
You stepped out feeling refreshed. Pulling on your clothes left you in awe—you had on something you hadn't thought you would look so good in. You wore a white shirt with the thin golden outline of a 6, a black leather jacket just long enough to reach your waist, and black slightly-ripped jeans.
“Wow,” you said to yourself, quietly admiring the sight in the mirror. You left your dress on the bathroom floor. When you opened the door to your bedroom, you spotted a dirty-blonde man you recognized from being part of NFlying.
He smiled. “Hi, Y/N. I'm Hun.”
His smile seemed pretty genuine, but he looked as if he were afraid of you. You didn’t blame him, and wanted him to feel safe around you, so you returned a shy grin. Hopefully you didn’t look creepy, like Woosung. “Nice to meet you, I guess. What’re you doing here?”
He was by your bed, leaning against it. He shrugged. “Sungjin told me about your little ‘mission’ thing. I’m here to answer the questions I can.”
“Do you not know everything about N.Flying, or are you only supposed to talk about some things?”
“I’m only allowed to speak of a few things with you, and then I can take you to the other members. I think the next person on the agenda is Jaehyun. He can tell you more than I can, but he also can’t tell you everything.” Hun noticed that you had stayed by the bathroom door, so he gestured for you to come closer.
You walked hesitantly over to him and took a seat on the edge of your bed. Hun twisted around from where he was standing so he could still see you. “I guess I’ll ask a question…”
“Yep.”
“Is Seunghyub the leader of N.Flying?”
“Yes. Actually, when we operated in Japan, I was the leader. When we came to Korea, that role switched to Seunghyub.”
“Why?”
“He was originally a very important person here, and I wasn’t confident enough to continue leading here, so I stepped down from my position to let him lead. He had more experience here.”
“What do you mean he was important?” you asked, shifting on the bed, trying to find a comfortable sitting position. You decided to stand, because you weren’t going to sit on the floor in front of Hun. He would most likely get angry at you for doing so.
“He is an actual descendant of the original Jopok boss,” he said simply, lacing his fingers together and fidgeting quietly. “He was raised to be the leader of his own family Mafia, but he was recruited into this team instead.”
“Oh. So, what does N.Flying do? I mean, now, since you have to stay at JYP.”
“Well,” he began, licking his lips, “N.Flying has a long history. If you want to know anything about what we did before, I think Jaehyun can tell you. But now… I guess our role is simply working with DAY6, mostly. We don’t have a lot of the things we used to have before, and we don’t own this place, so we aren’t authorized to do much activity. A lot of the time, we just do what we’re told.”
You nodded and scrunched your eyebrows. “So I know that Dowoon is an assassin for DAY6. Who is your assassin?”
Hun seemed a little surprised with the sudden topic change, but he went along with it. “Hweseung. Have you met him?”
“I don’t think so,” you said, thinking hard. “You should just tell me about all of your members, so I don’t have to ask a million times.”
Hun’s eyes lit up as he smiled. “Well, there’s our leader, Seunghyub.”
“I’ve met him.”
“Oh? What’d you think of him?”
You looked at Hun sideways, and then sat back on the bed because your legs were getting tired. “What do you want me to say? He was nice? That would be kind of weird, since this is the Mafia and all.”
Hun nodded sheepishly. “You’re right. But was he at least handsome? I heard that an important part of being a Mafia boss is looking good.”
That brought a grin to your face, and you giggled a little. “I guess he was. But, to be fair, all of the boys I’ve met so far have been really attractive. Anyway, please continue.”
“Jaehyun is apparently more attractive than Seunghyub, according to some recruits.” He returned the smile and nudged you softly. “But… does ‘the boys’ include me?”
“I suppose you’re kinda cute.”
His smile dropped into a frown. “I am not cute. Tell that to Jaehyun. So!” He cleared his throat to change the topic. “After Seunghyub, by order of importance, there’s Hweseung, who I already told you is our assassin and spy. He’s outstanding at his job, by the way. Next comes Jaehyun, the trainer. He can also go on missions, but he isn’t the go-to assassin. You’ve probably met him before.”
“I have.”
“Then there is Dongsung. He’s a guard, and is also a mission-worthy person, because of his fighting skills. But because he’s kind of new, he has a lower role than he might have. He operates in the dungeons most of the time. Jaehyun likes to make fun of him for being down there.”
“I’ve never met Dongsung, either, even though I’ve spent five years in the dungeon.”
“Be glad he never had a post outside of your cell. He’s really talkative and would annoy the heck out of you.” He let a laugh come out, and then coughed awkwardly. “Um, then there’s K- uh, me. The doctor. Don’t underestimate me, because I can still fight. I just prefer to pick up after the fight.”
“Hm. Okay.”
“Yeah. That’s N.Flying, for the most part. Anything else you want to ask me before we should probably sleep?”
“Sleep?”
“Yeah, it’s almost…” he paused to look at the blue and white watch on his wrist, “eleven at night. You need your rest, and you should start getting used to an actual bed.”
“You heard?”
He nodded. “Young K tells me a lot. We aren’t super close, but he likes to keep me updated on everything.” He sighed. “I’m a little forgotten. He’s the only one who says much to me other than Jaehyun.”
“You seem to talk about Jaehyun a lot.”
Hun nodded. “He’s my best friend!”
You suddenly felt sad -- a pit in your stomach grew. “I bet it’s great, having friends.”
Hun felt the energy in you disappear and he cocked his head, looking at you sadly. “You can’t expect to have best friends on your first day out of a dungeon. Especially after your multiple relapses.”
“I wish I didn’t have such an awful past. It’s unfair that I can’t be trusted just because of this stupid relapse business.”
Hun sighed and began to step toward the door. “I can’t trust you, but I hope you’ll trust me. I’ll be your friend.”
You perked up. “Really?”
“Yep. Now get some sleep, and don’t be on the floor.”
You sighed, already dreading going to sleep. You didn’t think you could sleep in that bed at all. “Okay…”
He exited, closing the door quietly behind him. You sat quietly in silence, not wanting to lay down. After a minute or two, a knock came at the door.
You jumped up, running to answer the door. There you saw two short women, one around your age, and the other a few years older. You were surprised to see people here other than the many men you had been surrounded by since being brought out of your cell.
“Hello!” the younger one said, smiling.
You blinked, still taking it in. “Hi.”
“I’m Eun-mi,” she continued, pushing her way past you to enter your room. “And this is my older sister, Eun-chae. We’re maids here at the DAY6 mansion.”
“Um, nice to meet you, then.”
Eun-mi twirled her long brown hair and smiled. Eun-chae pushed a set of clothes into your arms. She had short black hair that was slightly wavy. Her nervous smile flashed for a moment.
“Well, those are your pajamas, miss. We’ll come by tomorrow to get you set up in here, and we’ll give you more things,” Eun-mi said politely.
You didn’t really want them to speak so politely, because you hoped to become more acquainted with them; after all, they were the first girls you had seen. “How old are you, Eun-mi?”
“Huh? Me?” She looked shy suddenly and bowed her head. “Don’t ask me not to use honorifics, miss. I am your maid.”
You crossed your arms, suddenly more sure of yourself because of her submittance. “You two are the only girls I’ve met, and I don’t wish to have maids. I would much rather have friends. So please, don’t bother with being polite.”
She blinked, and then smiled. “Alright, I’d gladly be your friend. Right, unni?” she checked, turning to Eun-chae.
“Alright,” the older girl said quietly.
“Now,” Eun-mi started, “Put on the night clothes and go to bed. Good night!”
The two nodded and exited, smiles on their faces now. You felt better knowing that you had two new acquaintances that seemed easier to get along with than the boys. The men were part of the Mafia, so they wouldn’t be the best to simply hang out with.
You walked to the bathroom to change and did so, finding things to brush your teeth and hair with along the way. You were ready to sleep, now, but you weren’t ready at all to climb into bed. Sighing, you pulled back the covers and tucked yourself in, thinking hard about anything other than how uncomfortable you were.
Somehow, you fell asleep.

Song of the Week
I’m actually excited for this week . . . I’m not sure why, because I don’t actually remember who has a comeback this week, but something made me excited . . . and current me has forgotten what past me was excited about. So, a usual week for me.
Honorable Mentions:
Lots of semi-interesting indie stuff this week that I wasn’t really in the mood for. Mirrorball, Super Sound Bugs, and Genie had quite a bit of it. For a good example of the trending style (and one I particularly liked) from a different channel, check out Nostalgia from Ha Hyunsang. A lot of the others have some more different ideas, but this one is still nice.
Hey, so lowkey I’m loving this era of soda brands producing summer bops? Like, we had Kang Daniel and Zico earlier in the year for Pepsi, and now Chungha with Be Yourself doing a Sprite ad. Like, if the songs keep being cute and having adorable messages with carefree summer vibes who am I to complain.
K.R.Y did a ballad. The visual was beautiful, even if I was bored in actual seconds. WayV went off with Turn Back Time, which is M-pop, but still posted to smtown’s main channel so I watched it. They seem to fit into the NCT model of music well.
Jun. K as a soloist is a powerful thing. His previous stuff has consistently been pretty good. This is Not a Song, 1929 fits into the model of his previous tracks well, with a heavily belted chorus, jazzy sounds, and mature themes. And he sounds great throughout this one. My only complaint is the hair. IDK why he and Hyungwon are trying to make this a new trend, I am not a fan. (P.S., Junho in the audience of the live in a mask, while JunK and Wooyoung are on stage without, and while is very obviously separated but still supporting is so cute, and so sweet, and so so funny.)
WJSN’s Butterfly skews a little too cute for me, but has the synth heavy musicality I’ve grown to expect from them. And it has the nice summery feel I was craving last week, so I’m glad to have it. I may spend some time digging into the b-sides to see if any of them have some experimental interest for me.
Seventeen tracks fit into one of 2 categories for me for the most part. One is the tracks that push boundaries. They are musically different, or change the definition of the Seventeen sound. Songs like Home, Don’t Wanna Cry, and all of the unit stuff fit in this category. The other category is cute/sweet stuff that is there is put a smile on your face. Mansae, Oh My, and Pretty You fit this genre well, as does their new release My My. I’m not really sure why My My is out though. It doesn’t appear to be off an album, and they are fresh (ish) off of a successful Japanese promotion. It also has almost no dancing in the video, which is very uncommon for them, and no promotion outside the video (as of yet at least). So I think it’s here for one of two reasons. First, it could be for the fans. Usually tracks that are for that make that pretty explicit in the lyrics and/or the video. It isn’t super obvious here, but I guess the lyrics are hopeful enough. Second, it could be Big Hit testing the waters. I saw no promotion for this track, mostly because it seems to be on Big Hit’s channel only, not on Seventeen’s already well established channel (where they incidentally have a fan track out this week). I don’t know what Big Hit’s plans are, but hopefully it involves supporting Seventeen well.
And while the essay I just wrote about Seventeen would suggest it is the winner this week, that is not the case. Also, second essay alert. Feel free to skip, it is just me saying I love N.Flying a whole lot and that they deserve the world. Oh Really is N.Flying’s newest track, which is sweet and fun, and totally fits into their sound. They are also the only currently active band from FNC, the home of idol bands, which means they not only have big shoes to fill, but also have to help keep the company going while those groups get their lives together (or don’t, as the case may be). And for a group with the rockiest of starts (they debuted in 2013 in Japan and 2015 in Korea y’all), with 3 lineup changes in as many years, they still manage to seem upbeat and happy. The most recent change, with the 3rd added maknae, seems to have settled just fine for them, with them embracing Dongsung. Basically, it is heartwarming af to see them being successful and doing it while having cute sweet songs like Oh Really. It gets the win for being a great song and for being such a great group.

hello ! i’m meg, i’m 19, use she/her pronouns and live in est. sorry this intro is mad late, i’ve come down with something but we’re going airplane tell you about soomin anyways !!! the fourth link on my blog is a stats tab, and it’s nearly finished so feel free to check that out --- and finally, you can read some more info on soomin under the cut ! if you’d like to plot, which i hope you do, feel free to im me or hmu on d*scord @ i want everyone to raw taemin#0420 ( don’t judge me ) !!!
KANG SOOMIN.
kang soomin came into the world in seoul in 1994. his father, kang dongsung, an heir to his own father’s well built business and his mother, guk soori, was nothing more than a karaoke hostess his father had met while getting drunk with friends. born to an unwed couple in korea in the 90′s, it was safe to say soomin’s early life wasn’t easy.
dongsung’s parents frowned upon the birth of a child out of wedlock, soomin’s grandfather wanted nothing to do with such a child. felt it was best hidden. dongsung didn’t often go against his father’s wishes. this time was no different, despite him having some feelings towards soori he told her he could have nothing to do with her any longer, and nothing to do with their child.
soori didn’t mind much. sure, she’d cared for dongsung, but she hadn’t exactly expected a man she’d met at the karaoke bar to be responsible for his child, let alone a kang. she knew she wasn’t going to end up his wife and be some high society mistress. thus she let it roll off her shoulders, and even knowing it’d be hard, she had her child on her own. that’s where soomin comes into the picture.
born guk soomin to a single mother, despite things being rough for them, he was a happy child. always bright, always smiling. his mother worked several jobs to keep food on the table, caring for not only her son but her sister who seemed incapable of doing so herself. when soomin did get to spend time with his mother, the normally happy child was even more so elated. he loved his mother more than anything else.
a kind, caring woman, she taught soomin to be giving. to be loving. to be respectful. she raised him until he was nearly nine years old, but life got in the way. or perhaps, that isn’t the right phrasing. death is what got in the way, after all. a few months before soomin’s ninth birthday, his aunt picked him from school. it was unusual to say the least. despite her mooching off of his mother, soomin hardly saw his aunt.
unfortunately, it wasn’t because she’d missed her dear nephew. she came bearing bad news --- news soomin didn’t think he’d ever have to hear. his mother was dead. soomin was too young to understand all the technicalities and the sciences behind her death, but he wasn’t too young to understand what had caused it. guk soori had worked herself to death. she’d done it for her family. for him.
soomin’s aunt was the only family he truly had left, but she wasn’t interested in raising a child. after all, she could hardly care for herself, let alone a nine year old with a broken heart. that’s how soomin ended up at the kang’s door. his father had since been married, and to a woman with a child. while soomin grew up with his mother alone, his father cared for someone else’s kid.
at the time, soomin didn’t quite grasp that. however, he did grasp that he was second to this child in every way. his father cared more for his step-child than his own flesh and blood. only taking soomin under his wing to prevent it being spread that his off-spring was put in the system. for soomin’s ninth birthday, he got a gift he’d never wanted. he became a kang.
soomin went from having nothing but a loving mother to having everything but. however, his education improved, his clothing, his warmth and he ate more as a kang than he ever had as a guk. soomin missed a lot of things about his mother, her gentleness, her family name, her. but he put on a brave face, soomin learned young that no one cared about how he was really feeling. it was best to always smile. to never burden.
the one thing soomin did get to keep, was soccer. he’d played on his local team when he was with his mother and now he was playing on a bigger team at a larger school, and he was good. his skills improved fast and he found soccer connected him more to his old life than anything else. it became his passion quite quickly as you can imagine.
soomin discovered in his teenage years, soccer wasn’t his only passion. it wasn’t business, though his father intended to make it business --- no, it was boys. the pretty boy in his history class, the soccer captain, his father’s assistant. he was passionate about men, but he knew his father wasn’t. in fact, his father pushed him towards several of his business partners daughters, and soomin ? complied.
another thing he learned young ? he didn’t have the privelage to be gay. so he stayed silent, loved boys in quiet. and outwardly ? to the world ? he was heterosexual. it pleased his father, one of the only things soomin did that could please him. so soomin figured it wasn’t so bad of a trade off, right ? as soomin got older, he only learned to hide his sexuality more. not only was his father not keen on homosexuality, but his teammates weren’t either. he was told by everyone who he should love, and he listened.
despite this, soomin remained the same happy-go-lucky guy he’d always been. smiling all the time, being kind and caring. deep down he was affected, but as he’d learned, he couldn’t burden others. he was the shoulder to cry on, not the one who cried. though this made him appear fake at times, it was only ever out of the goodness of his heart.
as soomin got older he continued his passion for soccer, attending a school well-versed in sports. however, he still majored in business. if you asked his father ? his current stint as a professional soccer player wouldn’t last long, and he’d be back at the kang business before everyone knew it. funnily enough, his teammates thought the same thing.
despite being very talented, soomin’s teammates saw him as someone whose father bought his way. it wasn’t true, not even slightly, but being a kang came with not only harshness in his home, but outside of it too. his father wasn’t exactly a great guy, and he was keen on paying the way for soomin’s step sibling. soomin always understood why they though that of him, and never got angry over their harsh teasing.
soomin is a great guy all in all, despite his rough past. though he does date women while having no feelings for them, everything else he does is rooted only in kindness instead of selfishness. he’s very giving and involves himself with several charities. his dad didn’t like this either, saying the kang’s didn’t become rich by giving away their money. however, soomin knew what it was like to have nothing --- he loved giving back.
though soomin could never seem to please his father, he remained confident. one of his worst traits was his pride, and perhaps it was built up to hide his many insecurities, but regardless. he could certainly present as a bit cocky from time to time, but nothing rich people weren’t used to seeing. when you have all that wealth ? it usually goes to your head a bit.  of course, his father doesn’t quite care how cocky he is. he sees him as unfit to run the family business, as an embarrassment to the kangs.
as far as personality goes, soomin is an amazing person despite his flaws. he’s generous and empathetic, and there for those who need him. he’s a bit of a people pleaser, perhaps too much so, but it only makes him seem that much more gentle and that much more lovable. he’s also pretty energetic and adventurous, he loves trying new things and having fun. he’s essentially a human golden retriever ( in a non-furry way ).
i think that’s all i’ve got for now ! i hope you love soomin because my big baby definitelty deserves it ! thanks for reading !
CONNECTIONS.
first friend ----- the first person soomin got close to when he came to live with his father and was introduced to this new world of rich kid culture. ( 1 slot open )
first kiss ( girl ) ----- his first kiss with a girl. probably was... bad ? neither of them talk about it anymore. could be really good friends now or something ? we can plot it out more. ( 1 slot open )
first kiss ( boy ) ----- really cemented for soomin that he was gay. was definitely a secret, and is something soomin may even act as if never happened ( certainly does if it’s mentioned around others ). ( 1 slot open )
ex-boyfriend ----- someone he dated, but it didn’t work out either because it just couldn’t or because the sneaking around and soomin pretending to be so heterosexual just pushed them away. we could have fun with it ! ( 1 slot open )
beards ----- any of the girls he’s dated to appease his father and/or the public ? we’d have to talk about it in more detail but they could be a current girlfriend or an ex, and it could make for a fun plot too. ( 2 to 3 slots open )
best-friend ----- obvious plot here. just a ride or die friend, they’re really close. tell each other almost everything. when one is single, the other joins them as a plus one. that kind’ve amazing best-friendship ! ( 1 slot open )
step-sibling ----- the child of the woman his father married. no blood-relation, but they certainly act like siblings. they bicker all the time, but at the end of the day despite their differences and his sibling being much more ... bratty, soomin would do anything for them. they’re the only person he even really considers family. ( 1 slot open )

Note
so... i'm thinking about getting actually into n.flying. i've listened to their title tracks and their most recent album, and i can tell the members apart and know a little about them (i think hwesung is my bias atm) but where should i start if i want to learn more? thank u!!!
I support your decision to dive into N.Flying head first, they are chaotic individuals that deserve all the love and support in the world. I'm not sure of any great resources to just learn everything about them right off the bat, especially because a lot of sh!t has happened to them since they first started promoting in Japanese clubs in 2013.
Read more for an overview and some youtube recommendations... warning there’s a lot, I wrote you a book and I’m sorry. But also please read if you’re interested ⇟⇟
An important timeline of major life changing moments:
They officially debuted in Korea in 2015 with FNC label, starting out as a four piece band with Seunghyub, Jaehyun, Hun, and Kwangjin (their first bassist). These songs had a lot more stereotypical rock vibes, this is awesome and lonely. They were a LOT more angsty here
Hweseung came into the mix in 2017. He finished up his military service in 2016 and joined FNC for 8 months before joining N.Flying for the Real where they use him as bait to catch a mermaid lol. They also lightened up on the angst... kinda 🤣🤣. This time also included Hot Potato and HOW R U TODAY?
In December 2018, Kwangjin "voluntarily" left N.Flying because he was seeing fans outside of schedules. Also because rumors of sexual harassment to female fans in events. As of May 2019 he filed a lawsuit against his accusers and denied all rumors. (There's not much published news past then other than Kwangjin enlisted and has won a few medals in the military.)
Back to a four person group, their senior Lee Jaejin (from FTISLAND) subbed in as their bassist on tour
Their first win happened on March 2019 with Rooftop. Which Seunghyub wrote and first published to his soundcloud (go check it out, he is so crazy talented). They performed it on tour before "officially" releasing it with FNC (cause FNC sucks). This is the win where Jaehyun sobs so hard he can't speak and a bunch of groups hug him (most notably Rowoon from SF9). (Starlight was also released on Seunghyub's soundcloud prior to FNC's release.)
Now we're mostly caught up (on major life changing moments in their career)! Dongsung officially joined N.flying January 2020, however he had been playing with them as an unofficial member before his addition was announced. Dongsung previous debuted with (disbanded group) Honeyst, also under FNC (FNC sucks). He also trained with the rest of N.flying and you'll might hear Seunghyub talk about how he has always been friends with Dongsung and was there after Honeyst disbanded in April 2019 to encourage Dongsung to keep performing. His first MV was Amnesia but his first official debut (I guess you would call it) was Oh Really.
Lol you're really getting a whole novel and I'm so sorry for that. Just a few more things I promise. Here is a quick overview of the members:
Seunghyub/JDON: The leader/ rapper and deeper vocalist, he has actually no control of them, he writes/composes/produces, he is a maknae collector, v nice see here and here
Cha Hun: the lead guitarist, an emo boy, owned by his cat Romang, i have no doubt he will poison you if you talk bad about her, kinda evil like actually evil, only a few days older than Jaehyun but still thinks he's old, ½ of 2idiots
Jaehyun: drummer, has an absurdly big mouth, the embodiment of pure chaotic good, laughs like this 😆, still acts like the maknae even though he is now the middle child, has a cute dog that I think Hun sees as competition, ½ of 2idiots
Hweseung: lead vocalist, amazing vocals go watch Still Love You (you'll know why I sent you around 3 mins in), loves pats (they literally all pat him except maybe dongsung but give it time), he did so many immortal songs b o y
Dongsung: bassist, current maknae, apparently he has m u s c l e s, father's son (seunghyub is his dad), he worked really hard to be here and if you're not nice to him I'll fight you
Now you might be curious about:
Why is Seunghyub a maknae collector? Well this single father started with Jaehyun as the baby, then added Hweseung as the baby, and now Dongsung is the youngest member. Lol and he definitely spoils his three children
Why is Seunghyub 28 (international age) and not enlisting? He had a bad accident that caused chronic pain in his leg, he's had multiple surgeries and it pushed back their debut. He was exempt from enlisting.
Why is Hun evil? Well he has a habit of cheating to make other members more confused (see the dreaded game of mafia poor seunghyub), just as chaotic as Jaehyun but it's hidden behind his emo exterior
Why is Jaehyun so chaotic? Good question no one knows. If you find out please share.
What is 2idiots? I thought there were 5 idiots? Correct there are 5 idiots in this group, however 2idiots is Jaehyun and Hun's youtube channel where they do dumb stuff and are hilarious.
Anyway thank you for joining me on this journey that you probably didn't ask for 🤣. If you want to learn more I suggest watching 2idiots, Seunghyub's Summer Camp, that one cooking thing, the weekly idol with Day6, this questions video, and many more.
