SU Music Rankings

Bc I can and I wanna start some Disk Horse rip. These are all in order of preference, with explanations, etc. It’s a long bitch. That said, I’m not counting little short jingles or small joke songs like Little Butler. This is the meat and potatoes of SU music- just under 30 songs. I might do the rest if people like my takes lol.

I scored it mostly on three bases- how dear it was to my heart, how much/often I relisten to it, and also what it means to the plot. That said, little fun songs don’t automatically go farther down than big, plot-heavy songs either! It’s a strange little balance.

Special Note: I don’t dislike any of this music! I love SU and that includes its bumps and glitches. I just pick favorite children lol.

1.) Change

Was there ever a more Steven moment than when he wiped the blood off his face and kissed it into sparkles? I think not. 

If “Be Wherever You Are” is an ode to young Steven, then this is teen Steven’s. Talking about change, and how much and how little it can do. How he holds his arms up for Spinel to hug him, so trusting. How he seems able to just. Break into soft tears at will, and not to be manipulative- it’s just his kind nature. The warmth in his voice. Fuck yesssss.

2.) Change Your Mind

This song is only fifty five seconds and it’s EVERYTHING to me. It really felt like someone was speaking the words I’d always held deep inside of me, unsure of how to say. It feels like a goodbye to someone who never really loved me. 

As much as I enjoyed Future, if this was the finale of SU, I would’ve been perfectly okay with that.

3.) Drift Away

This song gave me legitimate shivers the first time I heard it, and it still haunts me to this day. Spinel stayed, and waited, and all she got was a transmission thousands of years later. Fuck.

4.) Here We Are In The Future

THE MOVIE IS SU AS ITS BEST AND I WON’T BE SWAYED ON IT. Steven being a teen who loves his weird family but is growing just a bit sarcastic to their drama. The adorable love he and Connie share. His slow realization that he will always be working, always have things to do, is both somber and real. The Crystal Gems won’t be safe with one epic battle. They’ll be safe with years of hard work and love. HIS LITTLE HANDSHAKE WITH AMETHYST.

This is a helluva bop and a great way to summarize the main character’s backstories.

5.) Let’s Only Think About Love

Did ya’ll know that Zach Callison killed his throat with that last note? He gave his all for this performance in a vocal range he no longer comfortably do and by god did it SHINE. The FLAIR. The FORESHADOWING. All of the Gems all being awkward about Rose and Steven trying to bring them to the present. Peridot having a mini-existential crisis in a cute yellow dress. I love Zach Callison’s normal singing voice but man is that a fucking bop. Nothing will ever beat it.

6.) Here Comes A Thought

This bad boy helped me out a LOT with some mental issues I was dealing with in high school. I was unmedicated, unsupervised, and full of anxiety. I’d have break downs when I tried to speak about certain things. I couldn’t function. This song inspired me. It helped me feel okay with my intrusive thoughts.

And the episode! -chef’s kiss-. Once again bringing up the morally gray area of training child soldiers. Connie expanding her social group. Steven’s trauma hauling ass in that second half. The ANIMATION. Stevonnie’s gorgeous singing voice. GOD yes.

7.) It’s Over Isn’t It?

Just barely squeaking above Stronger Than You, this ballad is everything gorgeous. The whole episode is. I think Mr. Greg stands in the top five of my episodes for the entire show. It even got nominated!

There’s just so much about this song that I love. The gentle melancholy of Pearl’s voice. How the crew had to redo the shots for this bit bc Deedee went so fucking hard. The hard cuts between Pearl, remembering the love of her life, and Steven, who has begun to feel like he took her away. I’d recommend this song to anyone, regardless of what they do or don’t know about SU, simply bc it tugs so many heartstrings of love, loss, and responsibility.

8.) Stronger Than You

Did you realize this episode aired SEVEN years ago? This bitch was what got me into SU! Hearing about Ruby and Sapphire made my little gay heart so happy inside, and then getting a whole song confirming that they were a couple, that their love powered the strongest Gem on the team? Aaaaaaaaa

To this DAY I get excited when I hear Estelle start singing. This song is timeless. This song will live in media history. God I fucking love this song.

9.) Other Friends

I’m not the biggest musical person, so I hadn’t heard of Sarah Stiles before her casting as Spinel, but JESUS CHRIST the lady went hard. She went SO fucking hard. Sarah Stiles started on 100 and somehow just kept CLIMBING. You can just hear the sheer manic energy building in her voice, the anger and resentment. 10/10 Sarah Stiles is a queen.

10.) Independent Together

This made the list entirely bc the crew was like “you’re gonna get a himbo ass Steven-Greg fusion singing with Opal while Garnet flies across the moon on Lion while floating” and I am forever thankful to them for it

11.) Who We Are

Bismuth deserved more songs. ‘Nuff said.

12.) Peace and Love (On the Planet Earth)

It Could’ve been Great is EASILY one of my favorite s2 episodes. I love the entire concept of this song. Of Steven making music to reflect how much Earth means to him and his family. Of him teaching Peridot some self-care. Also Peridot’s singing voice is really cute and squeaky. 

I know it’s silly, but I would’ve really enjoyed a flip around of this in Future! Like Peridot reminding Steven how much he loves music, that he needs to take time to relax for himself, maybe with a new verse or just a remix of the original song!

13.) Something Entirely New

I watched this episode as it aired, and I legitimately almost cried. I love Charlyne Yi’s voice so much ya’ll- her raspy, not perfect singing voice against Sapphire’s deep soothing lull is great.

And to have Ruby and Sapphire’s meeting be the way it was- for Ruby to bemoan Sapphire losing Homeworld, to being stuck with a single Ruby, while Sapphire is a noble who has always been taught everyone in her “caste” is vitally important (and has, in her own mind, taken that to mean every Gem, as she should) and how they come together and make each other happy. Good shit good shit.

14.) I’m Just a Comet

The fact that Greg’s music career never really blasted off pisses me off to this day bc Tom Scharpling’s voice is fucking BUTTER. Also the song really feels like a jab at his parents now that we know the kind of dynamic he had growing up. “This life in the stars if all I’ve ever known” is definitely him wiping away their existence after reminding them (and himself) the things they used to say about him.

15.) Do It For Her

This episode. This fucking episode. This episode got me permanently hooked on SU. I’d just binged season 1 and was kinda meh about it overall after the bop of Stronger Than You. “Oh,” I thought to myself, foolishly, “I’ll probably just casually watch this from time to time.”

Like three days later Sworn to the Sword aired and that was it. I was hooked! Pearl’s gentle training song turning darker and darker, Connie’s accompaniment from nervous to determined to fully into such a toxic mindset. The fact that SU had the BALLS to discuss the repercussions of training child soldiers, now and later. This episode was everything to me, STILL is everything to me.

Six years and well over 100 fanfics written later, I think it’s safe to say this show swallowed me whole and never let go.

16.) System/Boot.pearl_final(3)

I debated putting this on the list because it’s not anything crazy important, just a way to show things are Wrong, but I had to do it entirely bc Pearl is so damn SALTY.

Like telling us about the Gems makes sense, she felt like she was given a duty, but she went so damn petty. WHY is that Ruby alone. Gross. This Amethyst is a trash dump. Wtf are you people.

17.) Full Disclosure

This episode really feels like a turning point for SU. Before, the show had its dark moments- but now we’re in the thick of it, and it’s not going away. Full Disclosure felt like an rebuff to the idea of returning to any normal we’d established in season 1. Gems are actually a giant species now. Gems tried to kill us now. There’s this Yellow Diamond bitch who got namedropped. Something about a Cluster. 

The song itself is BALLER, with its ingenious use of Steven’s ringtone and photos as he tries to decide whether to clue in Connie on all this nonsense. Meanwhile we, the audience, already know damn well Connie about to yeet some common sense into him.

18.) What’s the Use of Feeling Blue?

I’mma admit it- I’m a Yellow Diamond stan. I’ve always loved her- her anger, her poise, her hardworking nature. I actively argued against the “Yellow Shattered Pink” theories back in the day. But, man, when this arc leaked? I got so overexcited I was too jittery to watch it for like two days. It’s easily my favorite arc of the series. The sheer alien nature of the zoo, the Famethyst, and absolutely Patti Lupone’s beautiful ballad. Goddamn. Yellow singing to Blue to try and help her regain her old status, the warble in her voice as she reminds Blue she misses Pink too, the movement of the bubbles as she talks about attack. It gives me shivers to this day. FUCK.

19.) Tower of Mistakes

This is, fun fact, that only SU song I have completely memorized. The story itself is kinda funny! See, we lost internet at my house for a solid 5 to 6 months when these episodes aired, so I only got a very brief window to view them all. But this was the first Amethyst song in a long while, and I didn’t want to forget it! So I keep replaying it in my head for ages. And that’s still definitely a thing.

Anyway will never not be sad that this entire song was about making it up to Garnet for Amethyst’s perceived slights with Sugilite (which was a two-way road), only for Garnet to pressure her into fusion later when pissed and never discuss it again bc Garnet probably never thought twice about it and Amethyst has the emotional openness of a clam that’s just been told its ugly. Helluva way to make someone feel like shit, G. Helluva way to bottle that shit, Ames.

20.) On the Run

I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times: Amethyst! Needed! More! Songs! 

The dichotomy between Steven’s play and Amethyst’s honest desire to run away from home is so well-done, especially when you consider a lot of Steven and Amethyst’s actions are playing together. The song is also near and dear to me simply bc it’s my favorite Amethyst episode to exist (well, maybe second to What’s Your Problem, but not by much). Moments like these are all the proof I need that they were right to fuse first.

21.) Be Wherever You Are

This tune really just feels like an ode to who Steven was as a kid. Trapped on an island with no way home, and he’s just happy to be with his friends. The stars are beautiful and not oppressive. Also that one animatic with Lars and the Off Colors playing in the Homeworld Kindergarten to this music was iconic and made this song get stuck in my head for a solid month.

22.) Familiar

I ADORE how the crew use bright neon colors to show how alien Homeworld can be. And Steven recognizing that the Diamonds treat him how the CGs used to, and how prepared he is to “fix” a broken family. It’s a soft, gentle tune about melancholy. Also the Pebbles are beautiful.

23.) Let Me Drive My Van Into Your Heart

Such a cute little love ballad, but every time I listen to it now I just imagine the heart attack Rose must’ve had at the line “And if we look out of place/Well, baby, that's okay/I'll drive us into outer space.” like there’s a Vietnam war flashback if I ever heard one

24.) What Can I Do?

I’m kind of neutral on this one? Rose and Greg both have great voices, but the song itself lacks many lyrics. I think it was definitely a good way to show Rose’s flaws in thinking.

Also, I’m shocked they managed cram that much vaguely sexual innuendo into two minutes, followed by how Not Hetereo that dance between Rose and Pearl was, and not get their asses chewed by it. You go guys.

25.) Cookie Cat

I love a lot of the vibes this song has. The lyrics are so damn prophetic, but they also sound like the kind of weird 90s commercials I grew up on. It’s been like two decades since I saw the Shirley Temple commercial but I’ll be damned if I don’t remember “Animals crackers in my soup! Monkey and rabbits loop-de-loop.”

26.) Giant Woman

I am. NOT the biggest fan of Steven’s original singing voice. I feel bad saying that, since it was just Zach Callison as a kid, but he never jived well with me for some reason. So I wouldn’t listen to this on the fly. 

The song itself is still really good though, with all sorts of fun animation of Amethyst and Pearl being bitchy to each other. It’s a bit sad in hindsight to see tiny Steven trying to get his moms to get along. Ahh, season 1.

27.) Strong in the Real Way

This song has SUCH a strong start. Pearl reflecting on Sugilite’s problems, but the show making sure to show us that Pearl’s lack of enthusiasm towards her also lends itself to jealousy as well as just general malaise. How much she cares about Steven, and wants him to grow up strong. 

And then Steven just kinda. Ruins it? I appreciate his enthusiasm for tryna bulk up but to take what was starting as such a rich, personal song and broadcasting it to random strangers just makes me a bit sad. Almost a bit angry on her behalf?

28.) That Distant Shore

I KNOW this is gonna create some discourse, but I’m just not the biggest Lapis stan. I love her voice. I love the visuals of the song. And I get why she felt afraid and needed to flee.

But Lapis never got to take responsibility for her own actions. And, in the end, the song feels hollow to me- because we all know she’ll never talk to anyone about it, know she’ll burst back in and destroy the barn, and no one will ever question it. I like Lapis a lot, but I feel like her arc never was fully finished. She never got help. She never learned to feel safe.

29.) Dear Old Dad

I’ve yet to meet a single human being who likes this episode tbh. There’s some great discussion about what kind of parent Greg is from it, and what kind of dynamic he has with the Gems that he felt he had to fake an injury to hang out with his son. Honestly the first half was fine and dandy. It’s just that then they Greg just went out of his way to drag Steven away from missions and such. It never jived well with his character before or after.

Also, is it just me, or does Zach himself sound like he hates the song as he sings it? There’s no passion or heart in his voice. It sounds like they told him to read off cue cards and he did. Tom Scharpling’s best attempts didn’t save this one for being a skipper. But the episode, unfortunately, isn’t, so it gets a spot on here.

Mermay Headcanon: The Mermaid (You) and The Pirate Gentleman (HR Wells)

*My little and late contribution to MerMay month. @crazythoughtsandlove​ and I were talking about mermaid and pirate ideas lol. I tried, I really tried to do something. Honestly, this is probably shit and I can’t say anything other than I’m sorry I tried to make it funny and slow-burn-y and cute and I don’t know what happened. Anyway, this was the little Easter Egg that I had dropped in my HR x Reader fic Hidden Among The Fairy Lights. Obviously this is in headcanon form rather than a full fic because I’m too mentally exhausted from everything in my life. Anyway, enjoy? Remember to reblog and comment to support content creators.

The fates seemed to have decided to toy with me today, HR thought as he ran through the streets of the Brazeeno Market Place

He dodged left and right, ducking past people and through alleys

The Pirate (Gentleman) as he likes to add on was on the run from a couple of ruffians who he maybe sorta accidentally provoked and got into a skirmish with

HR did it for a rock

Yes, you read that correctly. A rOcK.

But not just any rock, it was a cinnabar-fluorite-infused stone that was essential to his journey

His twin brother, Harry, who’s also a pirate, needed HR to fetch it while he retrieved the map for the Kjarni Flower

Both men were skilled in swordsmanship as well as improvising on hand in a fight

Harry: Go in, get it, and leave. Here’s the coins. Don’t start anything and don’t get distracted

HR: I’ll be in and out before you know it. I won’t start anything, scout’s honor

Harry: You’re not a scout

HR: Doesn’t mean I can’t use the saying

Harry: Yes, it does, you idiot

The crew just sheepishly looked at their two captains that argued like children

Anyway, back to HR who’s been cornered on the creaky and old harbor with vacant ships while you, the reader, were reading the background on him and Harry prior to this chase scene

HR held his ground, sword out and the stone safely tucked away in his pocket

A smirk on his face as he tried to play it cool, but inwardly he was panicked since there were no ships around at all

Reggie (Ruffian #1): End of the line, scum

Remy (Ruffian #2): Hand over the stone, moron

Roma (Ruffian #3): And pray to the gods that your spirit passes on to the other side safely

Now that’s a little harsh, isn’t it?

They took a step forward and HR took a step back, his foot slightly slipping back from the wet boards of the pier

Before any of them do anything, a wet yet firm hand had latched onto HR’s ankle, pulling the pirate off with great force

The dark-haired man kicked and tried to keep his eyes open as the undersea force dragged him away from the surface

HR’s eyes widened when he saw you under the salty sea, a mermaid with gleaming skin and seashells threaded in her hair

He saw the concern flood over your face, the gentleness within your dazzling eyes that he’d never heard of

Stories of mythical ravenous monsters under the sea that eat people of the land in a bloodthirsty rage

But the spectacle in front of him seemed anything but that

Still HR remained cautious, a hand over his pocketed knife as he eyed your colored tail

You put a hand to your lips, taking his hand gingerly instead of his ankle to bring him up to the surface

HR coughed out water and cursed at the saltiness of the sea, gathering his bearings before turning to you

You watched him with curious eyes as he shook his hair from the water before running his hands through his wet hair

Secretly you had always been intrigued by the land dwellers and their peculiar way of life

Even if the merpeople believed any interaction with humans to be forbidden by execution

You had overheard the exchange with the other humans and weighed in your thoughts before intervening at the most convenient moment

HR: Y-you’re beautiful- I mean a mermaid

He watched your cheeks darken at his words

You: *whispers bashfully* N-no’s really said that to me before. I’m not that pretty

HR: But you’re utterly breath-taking *shakes head and is astonished, blinking a few times* Wait, you can talk?

You: *cocks a confused eyebrow* of course I can, why wouldn’t I? I’m not some sort of animal that lives in the ocean

HR: I-I don’t know, the stories-

You: Stories?

HR explained to you the legends and stories, which you helped clarify the essence of the Merpeople

In return, HR did the same as he spoke of the human world and his adventures as a pirate

He oddly found himself confiding in you about the Kjarni Flower and its mystical powers to creating an elixir

You expressed the Merpeople’s legends regarding it, which provided to be beneficial to HR

The Pirate noticed your sparkling eyes in the midday sunlight, intrigued by every word you spoke

It particularly struck his heart when you expressed that your interest in the land-dwellers world

HR: Why are you telling me this? I’m a pirate, I could hurt you when you least expect it

You: I don’t know, I feel like I could trust you not to harm me

I don’t think I can to such a kind spirit, HR thought

Silence had filled the serene atmosphere between the two of you, waves rocking you and HR back and forth

HR noticed that the two of you weren’t so different, unlike the legends of the Pirate’s Guild

Everything down to your navel was regularly human. No webbed hands or fins for ears. The only exception was the gills on your neck and your majestic tail

The two of you remained there, floating in the sea before HR began to cough

You: I should get you back to land, you need to go back to your people

HR: Wait, before you do. My name is HR. HR Wells, the Pirate Gentleman

You: Gentleman, huh? Well, my name is (Y/N), Mermaid of Uquilnoah

You brought him back to shore behind some rocks, to which HR spotted his ship and his brother on deck with his back turned to him

The sun had fallen, expressing the evening time before night took its shift

You: I guess this is goodbye

HR: Why do you want to come to the human side? It’s corrupt and foul.

You looked down before gazing off to the laughter and lights and people on shore

You: I-I want to swim and walk. I want to go on adventures and explore what the sea cannot give me. I want to share experiences with others, a part of their stories and lives

HR: Come with me then. My troublesome hard hat of a brother and I go on adventures every day. We’d be more than honored to have you.

You: I-I’d like that, but how? I don’t have legs

HR pursed his lips in thought as he glanced back to his brother’s ship

HR: Stay here, I’ll be back. Here *hands you his knife* keep this until I get back

You took his knife, watching him swim to shore as your cheeks dusted pink at his words

No man or merman had ever expressed such interest in your or your thoughts

It was always someone else, some other beauty that held the center stage

You ended up being more of a background person

A hand ran over the faint scars over your body, trying to push away the hurt you had attained from others over the years

I just wanted to matter. I’ve always wanted my existence to mean something. Maybe in the human world, I can find that in my journeys away from Uquilnoah

HR hurried onto the shore and hurried onto his ship with his wet clothes chilling him as the wind blew

Harry shot his brother an incredulous look as HR ran onto the deck out of breath and speaking rapidly like a mad man

The twin dark-haired man stared at his brother before getting his attention

Harry: So, let me get this straight. You got the stone, ran into trouble, met a mermaid- who surprisingly didn’t bite your head off and now she’s waiting by the alcove shores for you because you promised her to be back?

HR: *catches his breath and smiles innocently* Yes :D

Harry: *facepalms* Are you fucking stupid or are you fucking stupid? That mermaid’s probably baiting you to sink this entire ship. We need to go. Now.

HR: She’s not lying to me!

Harry: How do you know that?!

HR: Because she told me about the Merpeople and their legends of the Kjarni Flower. She told me how she yearns for an adventure like never before, with people like us

Harry purses his lips and sighs roughly, rubbing his face harshly with calloused hands

HR: Don’t you see, Harr, she’s willing to come with us. Hell, she can even help us if we encounter something along the way.

Harry: Fine, but how are you going to get her to walk?

HR: Easy. Caitlin should have a potion or magic object.

Caitlin/Frost was the crews brilliant Ice-Witchdoctor, terrifying in batter but had sufficient magical abilities when it came to healing

Barry was the First Mate when both HR and Harry were off deck, quick on his feet for solo stealth missions

Cisco was the Quartermaster, distributing items such as a variety of guns/weapons, ammunition as well as coming up with the plans with the rest of the crew

Jesse was the pilot, manning where the ship sails because Harry doesn’t want his daughter doing anything dangerous, but she’s a badass gunner when it comes down to it.

Iris and Wally are the main Gunners for the group, their marksmanship impeccable through the harsh training they received from their father, Joe

Cecile and Joe typically fill in any role that needs to be filled depending on the situation that this crew runs into

Anyway, Caitlin manages to whip something up in which she’s enchants a necklace with the power to give you your legs and the ability to remain on land for long periods of time

However-yes, there’s a however, duh- there is a time limit

Every midnight strike, you fatigue and must recharge in the ocean overnight in order to not die from water deprivation

HR grinned widely head back to the covered alcove and waving you to come as close as possible

Explaining everything to you, the Pirate Gentleman handed you the enchanted necklace that held a single Golden Star Sapphire gemstone

Right as you pulled it on your tail transformed into legs in a blink of an eye, but… you were naked

HR had immediately turned around right when that happened, his cheeks flaring up as well as yours

You facepalmed before covering yourself, stuttering out that you’d need some clothes

story time bc im having Feelings atm

back when i was 12 i got a special pokemon white DSi w/ zekrom on it and a cartridge of pokemon white for my birthday. it was my first ever time i actually owned my own console, let alone a handheld anything, and before that i’d been like... aware pokemon existed but i’d never actually played it. i couldn’t even recognize pikachu at that point lol. i was a Mess 

so of course i was super excited n absolutely losing it because i was 12 and i got a rly cool gift for my birthday and it was just super meaningful to me to be trusted w a DS when we were poor and i was constantly told i broke everything i touched, and of course the first thing i did was get it set up in pop my new white cartridge in there. i named my first lil trainer AISLIN bc that was my favourite OC at the time n i didn’t know you could do small text until much later 

i picked oshawott -- named him wonderland iirc because those were just the vibes at the time -- n ran around and was super lost n everything and i think by time i got to the first town i was Exhausted from grinding and kept challenging the gym and losing bc i didnt know my type matchups at all. i saved n quit out and saw this mystery gift thing and i was just like. what is THAT. it’s my birthday. nintendo clearly knows this and will give me a gift!! and at the time, there was an event distributing victinis as part of a movie promotion, so i technically got to start the game w/ a level 50 event victini. his OT was movie14 and i thought he was SO CUTE. didnt know what his typing was or what any of his moves did, and he rarely listened to me because i had no gym badges, but i was over the moon over this little dude 

he carried me through the first 5 gyms, but kept leveling up so he’d usually be 1 away from when he’d listen to me :/ he was a rowdy dude but we had rly high friendship n he usually just rolled w/ it. i didnt understand that sometimes moves damaged ally pokemon so i ended up ohkoing myself in doubles a lot but i was having the time of my life w/ this little victini, getting lost, being frustrated a lot, doing lots of yelling to my bro and recounting all the guys i was catching. i remember i was genuinely afraid of sigilyph for a loooooooong time, and didnt get over it until i encountered a surprise shiny one in swsh actually lol

but anyway i got lost at one point, and of course i was like. 12. i didnt have patience and i didnt know abt serebii or bulbapedia or anything, and i deleted the save so i could restart. i renamed my trainer Alice, and picked the boy trainer this time, re-acquired Wonderland, and started off, remembering to check mystery gift. but the event for victini was over and there weren’t any gifts at the time. and i had no idea how to play without that lv 50+ guy on my team because i... still. didn’t know most of the types or the difference between special attack and regular attack and everything. i missed him a lot and actually ended up putting down pokemon white until the release of alpha sapphire (where i got a mystery gift shiny beldum and then thought it was ugly and released it, but that’s another post) 

anyway all this wraps around to the fact especially with the new swsh dlc, and the fact you can transfer victini into swsh now, i was thinking about that totally random mystery gift and how that silly little star is like... pretty much the reason i ever got into pokemon in the first place? it’s why i kept going and made it through the gyms i did and the battles i did, i wanted to see him do cool stuff n win battles for me. he was my cool little buddy and i got him on my 12th birthday. and he was lost to time forever because i deleted him and saved over him

but also one of the best things about pokemon is a hacker’s oyster, really, there’s discords dedicated to genning just about anything you like, and types of other hacks like powersaves, the DNS glitch for 3ds, etc that lets you get old mystery gifts, as well as pretty great community members who are willing to help with getting you the exact poke you’ve been yearning for. tonight i won a totally random giveaway for a victini that was cloned from the original 2012 Movie14 distribution event and im just really emotional thinking about it all. like. that’s my boy!! and just. getting a mystery gift victini on my birthday my first time ever playing pokemon ever. it carrying me through the game n making me rly love it n picking up other games in the series. missing him terribly for eight entire years. winning a victini that happens to be from the same event my birthday boy was from. feels like it was meant to happen !! i think he missed me too !! 

idk y’all, today is good i think. everything’s going to be ok and i can’t wait to raid with my new little dude :0 it’s been a long time

Writing Tag Game

Fandoms: my main fandom has always been Doctor Who but I feel v weird about it right now, so: Blake’s 7, Sapphire & Steel, Star Wars Prequels, Spooks (MI5), Once Upon a Time, and a whole load of random other things.

Tropes: honestly, if it seems like a good idea at the time, but accidental marriage, hurt/comfort, time travel, crack-played-straight, crossovers, canon divergence, and no doubt other things I’m forgetting right now.

Number of fics: 576 on AO3 (although there are a couple of vids and 1 podfic in there, plus a handful of fannish origfics, but OTOH there are things on Teaspoon I’ve never brought over and meme ficlets from LJ and Dreamwidth I’ve never posted elsewhere.  It’s such a ridiculous no. of works, even though there are quite a few drabbles and ficlets, that I wind up not posting the other drabbles/ficlets out of embarrassment.  Like, who has time to read 576 works, think of my Remix authors!)

Fic I spent the most time on: Ha, well, I took 9 years to finish one called Strangers at Fairhurst, but that wasn’t time spent writing it.  Probably gift fic for exchanges (and longfic generally for obvious reasons) - many of those took a lot of extra time and research and betaing and things, because, well, it’s a gift.  You want it to be special.

Fic I spent the least time on: Probably some of those meme ficlets, because a lot of them were flash fic so speedy writing was part of the point.

I wrote So We Meet at Last for fan_flashworks in about 30 minutes - and then at some point it got recced somewhere and it was my most popular fic for ages, so the moral of the story is don’t angst over stuff, just write Miss Marple dusting Dracula and the world will love you.

Longest Fic: On AO3, it’s The Poison Tree (Dracula 1968, written for calliopes_pen in Yuletide 2016), which makes it look as if I’ve never got to 30k, but ha ahahaha.  I’ve been ill since 2011.  Before that, I wrote an epic 1980s UNIT series, the final installment of which was 80K +

Shortest Fic: My shortest fic is a drabble, of which I have around 45 on AO3 and while the word count varies on AO3, they were all 100 words exactly in Word, so take your pick.

Most hits/kudos/comment threads/bookmarks: These tend to be exchange fic - by and large that’s the only way anyone knows I exist.  (I really miss LJ/DW comms, because a fic announcement on a relevant comm was a really good way to do that and modern fandom has no equivalent and then everyone gets tunnelled into ship tags, all alike.)

hits - Not bad For a First Attempt  (actually this might have taken the least time - it was a Heyer double drabble I wrote for, er, wrangling reasons.  I’m not sure whether this is true or the hit count has been skewed, but the kudos count is also high, so it might be. Desperate Heyer fans are desperate?)

kudos, comments, & bookmarks - are all The Spirit of St Mary Mead, a Yuletide fic where Miss Marple is a genius loci, which has now overtaken the one where she dusts Dracula.  (The universe only loves me when I write Miss Marple!!)

Total word count: 1,371,543 (which does also include c. 300,000 words of origfic for Runaway Tales, although it doesn’t inc. the c.200,000 words of epic 1980s UNIT adventures, so I suppose it’s only c.100,000 out.)

Favourite fic I wrote: argh, idk, I do like quite a few of them still, but it’s all so dependent on mood and how recent it was and if people commented or not (because if they didn’t, I was obv. wrong about the quality). 

I usually answer this with Salt of the Earth, and I suppose it’s as reasonable as anything else and very me.  It’s about Mrs Tyler from Doctor Who’s “Image of the Fendahl” and how her life went, living by a time rift, fighting evil with folk remedies and rock salt and being 100% better than Torchwood while making a lot less fuss about everything.  So I think it’s still one of the ones I like.

Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: I don’t want to rewrite anything!  I have moved on.  I’ve written a lot of canon divergence AUs since somehow falling into SW Prequels this year and I think there are a couple of those where I thought a lot about where else they might end up, although the moment may have passed, certainly while I’m exhausting myself on exchanges!

Share a bit of a WIP or a story idea you’re planning on: Oh, my main WIPs at the moment are for hurtcomfortex so I can’t.  But, other things:

I do have a work that I need to check over a bit but which is otherwise a complete draft, which is something I originally wrote for (I think) NYR 2017 but either I was too tired to run with it or I wasn’t sure the original recip would like it, but ANYWAY, it’s Department S and sort of Annabelle/Stewart/Jason but also not:

“Yes, well,” said Annabelle, putting the book down away from her work, “perhaps I would have done if I’d been home any time in the last forty-eight hours, but you asked me to feed Auntie half the London Phone Book to analyse.  I’ve been up all night dealing with the ensuing attack of indigestion.”

Stewart perched on the edge of the desk and leant over to kiss her cheek.  “Sorry for the inconvenience.  Any results?”

“Smith is still the most common surname by a significant margin,” said Annabelle and then put her hand to her head and slumped back in the chair.  “The rest is just gibberish, I’m afraid.”  She reached out for the Mark Caine novel.  “As is this, I imagine.”

Otherwise, I am hoping to be done with hurtcomfortex soon, write my AU meme ficlet prompts from my Dreamwidth flist, and then maybe do intobar because that’s always one of the most fun ficathons. 

And somewhere in my notebook I have a crossover drafted out for genprompt_bingo where Barry Allen meets Henry Mills, because I thought that’d be a thing that should happen once (probably pre-canon for OUaT).

But, you know, I need to finish typing up this stupid exchange fic that has gone LONG again and I don’t even know if the recip will even want it...  (I love exchanges, honest, but... :lol:)

My mother was watching Hatena Illusion earlier today – I didn’t go to watch much of it, since that would spoil the surprise for when I tackle it later – but the one thing that annoyed me was the high-pitched girl voice, as it does. I bring it up because it’s pissing me off here too.

I was put off by the title and the style of the characters, but the reviews were good, so I’m here.

The shadow aesthetic reminds me of the one episode of Utena I watched.

The Hozuki aesthetic is very striking! It reminds me of Ranpo Kitan.

That action scene relied on shaky camera a bit, but it was better than I was expecting for a show like this (a Hozuki-style supernatural romance).

The preview blended so seamlessly into the episode I couldn’t tell which was which and I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing…

This is the 3rd entry on my hype list. ID: Invaded made 2nd by debuting beforehand and 1st was a spinoff to an established premise (Magia Record), so I hope I was putting my support in the right place.

The scenery is nice in this show.

The pun is that Seigi = justice, so the ep title could be “justice of the pink sapphire”.

I was using the spelling of Richard’s name from ANN when I put this series on AniList, so I didn’t expect it to be “de Vulpian”.

The joke (Hero of Justice) is that Seigi Nakata is kinda like seigi (no) mikata (ally of justice).

Wait, why, whatttttttttttt?! Who keeps jewels in their fridge?!

It turns out Takadanobaba Station actually exists.

Education major? No wonder she’s so trusting…likewise, economics is probably why Seigi is so black and white on his morals (although Richard did just throw that back into his face earlier). Update: I say that because in order to succeed in education, you need to be sociable and trusting of parents, colleagues etc., while economics is very numbers-based (even if the people behind it may be money-grubbers).

LOL, that “Tfantasy and Co.” was so clearly a parody on Tiffany and Co.

This thing about records reminds me of how hackers (or crackers) can resurrect most things if they have enough to work with. It makes me feel nostalgic, to think about IT like that again.

Is it just me, or is there CGI in this show…?

Padparadscha…the only thing I remember about that stone is that it’s got lotsa holes in it (from Houseki no Kuni). Hmm, I can see why Richard thought it was a pink sapphire, though. Update: Then again, the link says padparadscha can be a sapphire too and the bit just after this says padparadscha is a sapphire of a certain colour. (Richard was only saying it was pink – and thus less valuable than the padparadscha - to ascertain Seigi’s motive, as he says.)

The quality of animation that occurred when Seigi was crying…it’s a bit worrying in comparison to some other shows (*thinks about Eizouken*).

I completely was able to predict Richard had the buns for Seigi to share with Hiromi.

Y’see? Words don’t lie, but they have a lot of nuance to ‘em. I say that because when I was researching Richard to submit his info to AniList, I discovered his foreign looks are because at least one of his ancestors was British with Sri Lankan heritage.

LOL, I like how Richard dismisses all the other royal milk teas. He’s just a little bit snarky, but not too much.

Update: Oh yeah, Shouko’s name has the character for “crystal” in it and it can alternately be read “Akiko”.

The opening of this one really begs the question of how often the Gems eat with Stephen. Obviously Amethyst eats at pretty much every opportunity,and we know Pearl doesn't like to eat, but Greg says during Keystone Motel that Garnet likes to eat sometimes and we see her with food in the comics sometimes, so does Garnet occasionally eat meals with Steven? We also see that he doesn't know where they are or how long they'll be gone. Last time Pearl only told him they were going right back out because he popped in on them when they got back. They don’t feel obligated to tell him what they’re up to. He tries to call for them at the door of the temple, tries to count down to them warping in, even hangs out the front door of his house/room yelling. It looks like he was originally going to just make waffles and just keeps doing stuff to it the longer it takes for them to show up. That's really not a lot of popcorn for three bags though lol, and what a mess on the floor for deciding on toaster waffles. Steven is so happy when Garnet comes home! I love his puns and his silly sense of humor. He's a little off-put by her silence though, that weird face has become an icon among the fandom. I think she's just weighing how much she should share with him. In the end she just tells him she has to burn the painting, but she chooses to show it to him as well. We know [confirmed outside of the show itself] that that painting is made up of ground up Gem shards, and the magic in it is powerful and scary. I assume that it could have possessed the phone much the same way it possessed the together breakfast. I wonder at the havoc that could have caused. Could it spread its power through the internet?

This is the first time we see a door to the temple open, and seeing Garnet use both of her gems to open it had me wondering [again] what was going on with her having two back when I first saw it. And now I'm intensely curious as to what Ruby and Sapphire's individual rooms look like. I've seen Garnet's room that she enters here referred to as both the burning room and the basement. Sapphire herself calls it the basement and I assume that the burning room nickname comes from this very episode and Garnet using the lava pit to burn the painting and the phone. But I have so many questions about how the temple and the door works. In Know Your Fusion Sardonyx has a room but she says it only exists so long as she does and when Pearl and Garnet split the room collapses within itself. But the basement still exists when Garnet is split;, and Steven is able to access it in Catch and Release when he gets Peridot from her bubble without permission [when Garnet is outside the temple but still together] as well as Made of Honor [where Garnet is not in the temple or together] when he gets Bismuth from hers, also without permission lol. We don't see him open the door in those episodes, but I assume he opens it directly into the basement and did not go the roundabout way through Rose's Room. We know from the sequence later in this episode that they are all connected though. Garnet is found in Amethyst's room in Reformed and Pearl's swords float down into it, both of them either visible through or coming out of Amethysts door. So is the basement really Garnet's room or is she just opening that room through her door? It wouldn't be very safe to have a room that's dependent on the stability of a fusion be the one you store all those gems in, even if that fusion is Garnet. Maybe it stays the way it is because there are other gems in it? But then Sardonyx's wouldn't have fallen apart since Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst/Steven/Smoky were still in it. Or maybe it was built into the temple because Garnet is such a stable fusion and Ruby and Sapphire's possible rooms are the ones that magically appear when she's split?

There are a lot of firsts this early in the game, so here we see Amethyst shape shifting “Dumb police! Uh, you’re dumb!”. It's interesting that she changes her skin tone to be closer to a human even though it's still purple. I really like how Steven just has a million of the exact same shirt lol. And this is a very sibling like exchange, Amethyst gets him with a water gun and continues to tease him even though Steven is very clearly irritated with her. It would appear that there's some connection between the rooms and the door/s considering that Amethyst reacts to Pearl coming out of her room by exclaiming that that's her door, it's possible when you come out the door just shows whichever room you are coming from but going in you can choose? When activating it from the outside we see the corresponding gem on the star glow but not when it opens from the inside, although the way it opens out corresponds with the opening sequence that matches the gems room [if that makes sense]. In this case Amethyst’s split is kind of wavy and diagonal, squelching apart as if it were goo. And when Pearl opens her door from the inside a few minutes later to try to throw Steven out she just kind of waves her hand and it is her hand that glows with a detail of trailing diamonds and not her gem that activates it like when Garnet opens hers from the outside, and we don’t see whether Amethyst’s gem glows since Pearl had left the door open

Watching Pearl and Amethyst's conversation about the sword I'm in an interesting position of understanding both sides really well. I have OCD, so I have a method to how everything is done and cleaned in my house, even my messes have a system. I get how Amethyst wants her things just so but I also get Pearl's need to clean it all up lol. More questions about how the door works though, because when Pearl comes out of Amethyst's room she really doesn't seem too fussed about looking for her it's just kind of like "oh, there you are", and she then activates her own door to go to her room. She barely even pays attention to what Steven is saying even though she asks him what’s the matter and doesn't notice when he sneaks in after her. So did she have to go out the door to go back into her own room? If so how did she get to Amethyst's room in the first place? And then when she walks on water before dropping directly down into only to come out at the top of her weird fountain? What's going on there? Steven has to swim across it and then he gets dumped down the falls. This episode is just nothing but questions for me. Did she activate her sword cache with the dancing? I know back then we didn’t know she could store things in her gem, but now that we do why aren’t all of her swords in her gem instead? And are they just floating in the cylinder of water? We do see a little bit of how the temple is connected starting when Steven slides down that weird ass waterfall/stream. There's the jagged stones all in the background, the water connects Pearl and Amethyst's rooms, and he gets flipped around and upside down. Even more evidence of my theorized brother/sister relationship in the way Amethyst and Steven interact over the together breakfast, especially when she starts chasing him. I think there's some big sister/little sister thing going on with Ame and Pearl as well in the way Amethyst talks about her junk here. That's one thing I find really interesting about the gems relationships, since they aren't biologically related their relationships to each other don't really form a family tree, they just relate to each other in their own individual ways. Pearl being a mom to Steven and Amethyst being a sister to him doesn't make Pearl also Amethyst's mom, they've got their own separate sibling relationship thing going on.

So, back to the way the temple is connected, Pearl’s room just kind of flows away but Amethyst has walls or cliffs with a clear hole out of hers, with those pink tubey things all hooked up to the wall above it. And when running down that tunnel he gets all flipped around and upside down again, the gravity keeping him and Amethyst attached to the floor but not working on the together breakfast as he has to re-catch it with the plate as it tries to float down or up or whatever. When he stops at the end and looks back at Amethyst calling out "I'm hungry" she seems distorted like in a fun house mirror as well. Whose room is it with all the floating rocks? Maybe Ruby or Sapphire's? [If I had to choose I would say Ruby for this one.] Maybe just a magical connector of some sort? More of those tubey's above that next hallway too, and Amethyst seems a lot more serious when she tells him to "get back here" this time, I assume she knows where he's headed. She and Pearl are both very concerned at him being so close to the Crystal Heart, there is more than one doorway into the room and Pearl seems to come from the total opposite direction. She flat out says it's connected to the most dangerous areas of the temple, which implies there's more to the temple than just the rooms we've seen. I can’t help but wonder how much is connected to the door and the gems in it and how much is stand alone,and how they can get to it all besides Steven’s random running and sliding around. Pearl's already told him once that it's dangerous for him inside the temple, but all Steven cares about is getting the Gems together. I am distracted by his surroundings however. We can actually hear the Heart "beating". I've already speculated about the gem tech having/being powered by sentient gems, and I'm wondering now if somehow Rose combined that tech they already had with biological aspects to create the Heart and the Temple and that's why it acts the way it does, almost like a living thing itself. We know because of her plant warriors and Lion that she's messed with combining her Gem Powers with organic matter before so it's not a stretch. We also get our first glimpse of Rose's very own room, directly between the Crystal Heart and the Basement full of all her fallen comrades. Interesting now too that they are all her comrades, the Gems loyal to Homeworld giving her their allegiance as Pink Diamond and the Rebels doing the same for Rose Quartz. I like that Steven is calmed when passing through her room, it speaks to his connection with her. Finally in the burning room, and judging by Garnet's gasp she did not see this happening. Steven is so blissfully unaware at this point in the story, he's been sheltered from real danger up to now. He's bordering on annoying in his ignorance even, especially looking back now at how far he's come and how much he's matured. Here we see where Centi went when Garnet sent away her bubble, they're everywhere. But Steven doesn't even question it. I think forward to his shock when Pearl tells him that they're always fighting Gems in Ocean Gem when it's so obvious even to the uninitiated when you see all these bubbles and watch all the gem monsters they take down and how they all become gems after they're poofed. Maybe you don't see it this early in the game, but it should have clicked at the very least when Pearl poofed the first time in Steven the Sword Fighter. I mean, I know I'm coming at this with an 'outsider' view so to speak, I know from experience how easy it is to overlook things right under your nose, so I'll try to go easy on him lol. I really notice now the different colors to the bubbles though. Sure Pearl's white bubbles, Garnet's maroon-ish ones, Rose's pink ones, at least one purple one as well; but what I think is really interesting is that there are blue ones and I believe a few flat red ones as well. Quite a few blue ones actually. This implies that at some point Ruby and Sapphire were bubbling separately. I want to know how often they used to split before Steven came along and they stayed together for nearly a solid fourteen years. Watching Garnet start to burn the painting knowing what it's made out of is the only time we see a Gem really and truly being destroyed.  Even when they're shattered they still have a powerful partial consciousness [more about that in Frybo], so I guess they never really die except in this very extreme case. Even those shards being ground up they still have power and a desire to be whole that we see when it possesses the together breakfast. I feel so horrible when you hear it [her? them? I assume since there's more than one color in the painting there's more than one shard involved] scream when Garnet lights it on fire. Although I'm sure most of the bubble was to keep it from escaping, which it does eventually do, I think part of it too was so Garnet didn't have to listen to it scream. It seems like once the painting itself was burned that consciousness was transferred to the smoke itself. I wonder how long Garnet would have had to hold it that way before it was completely gone or if she would have had to eventually submerge the bubble in the lava. It didn't take much distraction for it to get out of the bubble, it starts as soon as Garnet looks away. Once it does get out it starts trying to form into something right away, showing us hands before it finally gets into the together breakfast. Pearl shouts that it's taken refuge in organic matter, and it's able to expand and multiply the breakfast once it's got ahold of it. It clearly has some idea what it's doing when it snaps Pearl's spear in half. I am so entertained by Pearls’ expressive voices though “It’s horrible!”

Even after Steven manages to cram the possessed breakfast in the lava pool [wow, strong lol] and it's finally destroyed, the enormous waffle and all the whipped-cream-popcorn-syrup mess is still all over the place. For some reason this whole thing makes me think of the centipeetle babies and the drill gem babies. Perhaps those babies have something to do with them interacting with or copying organic matter? These are the kind of things I was hoping to think about in this rewatch, in the end I know it's just more questions but at least I have an idea of what to look for the further we go into it. I wonder too if maybe the destruction of the gem into the lava at the heart of this chamber has something to do with the harvesting we've all been wondering about ever since Peridot came out of her bubble. I don't know what yet exactly, but maybe it somehow helps power the Crystal Heart? Since it seems you can’t destroy a gem completely once it’s been made it only makes sense for them to try to reuse them once they’ve been cracked or shattered since healing isn’t a thing for Homeworld. For what seems like an episode that's just supposed to be "weird" it really makes me think so much. I really hope the tech and harvesting questions are answered soon.

They are finally all together in Steven’s room, doing what he wanted in the first place. I know I criticized him earlier for his ignorance and how he put himself and the others in danger by being more concerned in tracking them all down than paying attention to where he was, but it is admirable how important it is to him for them to have bonding time. I’m sure it gets lonely with them all doing their own things and not involving him or even telling him what they’re doing, and he does love them. Together Breakfast Mark 2 finally has a proper amount of popcorn for the bag, but no one wants to eat it now, not even Amethyst lol. Even though I mentioned it at the beginning of my analysis, at this point in the show we don't know that the Gems don't have to eat or that Pearl doesn't like to so it's a good way to hide these facts in them all talking about ordering a pizza. Even Pearl is nodding along and agreeing. This time our star is on Garnet's face, observing that it tried to kill them, and we continue trend of instrumental Love Like You

Softer than Roses - Lindir

Request from wattpad: Could you do a Lindir one? Where he and the reader are married, and the reader gets kidnapped for 100 years and he has to help her readjust to life in Rivendell.

A/N: Aww, Lindir. I’ve missed writing him so much! This physically hurt me to write... lol... Also, I’m sorry this wasn’t anything special... I wanted it to be but my brain just wouldn’t let that happen.

The golden sun seeped through the trees and fell upon the rocks and rivers that surrounded Rivendell, bathing the mountain valley in the honey-gold light. Its gentle kiss was warm to the touch, and everything flourished beautifully under its loving embrace. Everything except for one particular ellon, that is. Lindir couldn’t have cared if it the valley was being drowned in hail, rain or snow. He couldn’t have cared if the valley was whipped into unlivable conditions by the harshest of winds. He couldn’t have cared if the sun never rose again and the valley was cast into eternal darkness. His Y/N, his sun, his flower, his very heart’s blood… was gone.

Ever since her abduction 100 years ago, the sun and stars in his heart, hung there by Y/N’s gentle hands, had set and his very existence had been plunged into total obscurity. He had been blinded by grief and now, not even the boldest ray of light and happiness could strike his heart. The flowers that once blossomed in Lindir’s soul were now strewn about his fragmented soul, their blackened petals littering his being with terror. 

And now, in his darkest and eternal hour, his memories were a pack of bloodthirsty wolves who preyed and massacred the rabbits of his hope that were so weak, they could not even bear to run. Memories of her grazed and bloodied neck, of her terrified, heart-wrenching screams, of her rattied and blood-stained clothes, of the absolute terror that had resided in her E/C eyes haunted him every moment since she had been ripped from his arms by the scarred orc’s long, clawed hands. His dreams had turned to nightmares that shook him to his very core. His memories of her pink lips spread as a blood-curdling scream ripped through the air splintered him from the very depths of his being to the very highest and outermost points. 

“It’s only been a century,” people would say. 

But to Lindir it was much more. It wasn’t even 100 years to him. It was each and every one of the 36,500 days upon which he had awoken to find her missing from his arms. It was each of the 36,500 days that he had come home to a cold, lifeless room that was void of her warmth and comforts. It was the 36,500 days that he had been bound by the chains of grief in a prison of utter misery, tears streaming from his face as he sat upon the floor, hands laying useless in a lap upon which she had once sat… the remains of his shattered heart scattered upon the grounds around him. 

It was 36,500 days that his broken heart was without her healing touch, and that was the tragedy that had become his life.

The very last rays of the sun’s golden light had begun to disappear and the once crystal sky had been painted with violets and roses above the deep sapphire mountains. Guards stood like statues about the perimeter of the fairly peaceful elven town when a figure in a tattered and torn robe stumbled over the bridges that connected the main entrance of Rivendell and the world across the raging rivers below and fell at the foot of a massive flight of stone stairs. 

“Who goes there?” One of the guards yelled. 

“I need to speak to Lindir!” The figure cried, her voice flowing and melodious, a complete contrast of her appearance. 

“Who are you, stranger!” The guard called again.

“For Arda’s sake, I’m his wife.”

A sharp knocking sounded upon the beautifully carved wooden door that hid my chambers from the rest of Rivendell. The loud banging shot arrows of pain through my aching head as I rose from my position on the floor and moved to it as gloomily as a ghost. And perhaps I was only a ghost of myself. After all, my heart and soul were already beyond numb and not much else of me was left.

There mustn't be anything more ghostly than I, I thought. Not even in Mandos’s great halls.  

When I unlocked the door and pulled it back to reveal a guard, his hands wrapped around a double pointed spear, my annoyance was insurmountable. That was until my eyes flickered over to the elleth that stood behind him as quiet as a my heart stopped dead in my chest. 

There she was, my Y/N, standing before me after all the 36,500 days we had been apart. Her H/C hair was much shorter than it had been the day she was taken and her figure was thin and skeletal. The skin about her eyes bunched into new wrinkles that revealed the strain she had undergone since her abduction. Despite how tired and worn she looked, her smile was still the same as the day my heart and soul had willingly jumped into an eternity of love for the lovely elleth who now stood before me once again. 

“Y/N,” I gasped, tears forming in my eyes as my heart, for the first time in one hundred years, lifted; hope regained its firm hold upon me once again as I asked, “is it really you, darling?”

“Yes,” she sighed, her chest visibly heaving from her ragged breathlessness, her eyes becoming more watery than the great, raging seas themselves. “It’s me, Lindir. I’ve come home.”

The pure happiness that flooded my soul at that moment was unlike any that ever had before. Her frayed appearance mattered not to me, for the sight of her radiant being standing in front of me was one I thought I would never have seen again upon the horrible night I lost her. 

“Oh, Y/N!” I cried, my hands reaching out to pull her brittle form into my arms for the first time in what felt like an eternity. I pulled her head to my chest in the way she used to love, and my other arm wrapped around her waist in the way I knew comforted her. Y/N, in turn, delicately buried her head into the nape of my neck, her arms wrapping around my thin torso. We hugged in the way we had a century ago, the way I had longed for ever since her abduction. “I’m sorry I look so horrendous,” she apologized, her breath soft against my skin as it drifted through the fabric of my robes. 

“Darling,” I cooed, pulling out of the hug to look at her once more, “the sight of you standing here at all brings me more joy than I ever believed one was capable of feeling. I care not that you look a mess, for I know I probably do too. It's okay.”

“You’re as sweet as ever,” she sighed happily, the tears that were once brimming in her eyes now wetting her cheeks softly. 

My hand came up to caress her face, my thumb wiping away her tears. “I only ever am with you, guren vell,” I sighed, kissing her hairline like I used to all those years ago before thanking the guard who brought my lovely Y/N back to me again and leading her into the rooms we once shared. 

“It looks the same as it always did,” Y/N sighed as she walked around, her gaunt fingers running through the silk covers upon our bed. 

“I never had the heart to change it,” I said as I walked over to her and shyly pushed a strand of short, H/C hair out of her face. 

“Your hair is shorter,” I spoke, a worried look contorting the aspects of my face. Y/N’s suddenly saddened eyes drifted down towards the carpet beneath our feet. 

“They singed it off until it was even shorter a while ago,” she whispered weakly, tears beginning to run down her face again. Although now, they were no longer tears of happiness, but rather, tears of absolute melancholy and fiery rage. I brought a finger to the skin on the underside of her chin and gently lifted her gaze to mine. 

“Darling, it might be rugged and stunted now,” I said, “but after washing it, it’ll be restored to its proper softness eventually. That lovely sheen that I’ve missed so much will have return and the lovely scent of your favorite flowers will radiate from it once more. And don’t worry, it’ll grow longer. I’ll make sure of it.

“And my darling, oh my sweet darling… I’ll make sure your skin softens once more, and you know what? I’ll make sure it’s even softer than before. It’ll be softer than the petals of roses. I’ll make sure you're fed more than enough so you no longer have to be brittle and frail. Darling, I promise you, I’ll care for you once more, and I promise you’ll flourish once more.”

“Promise?” Y/N asked, her eyes holding an uncertainty that made me want to pledge myself to her a thousand times. I wanted her to know I’d always be there for her, to make her happy and to make sure she’s taken care of once again. 

“Y/N, I swear it on the Valar. I will not leave you, nor will I lose you. Not again. I’m going to protect you with everything of which I am capable. I promise. You won’t have to fear again, my darling. I promise.”

She hesitantly stepped closer to me and I opened my arms welcomingly, hoping that she would melt into them like she used to. Her eyes scanned mine anxiously before she flew into my arms, silent sobs wracking her body. 

"Shh, darling, shh,” I cooed, my fingers running through her soon-to-be-silken hair. When they reached the ends, I realized how dry and dead the strands were. “It’s all okay now. I have you, darling. I’m here and you’re home.”

“Do you know what they did to me, Lindir?” she sobbed softly, her entire body trembling as she clung to me. “They tortured me every day. Every day, some new metal was tested against my skin and when they had nothing new to test or hurt me with, they berated me. Each and every day… for a hundred years. I’m covered in scars, my hair is burnt, and now every little sound scares me to death. I was hardly fed, and I never slept. Lindir… I’m so scared.”

The words she spoke stopped my heart. Tears welled in my eyes as I looked down to where Y/N’s hair parted at the base of her neck, and sure enough, faded red lines covered her skin like a morbid, cross-stitched pattern. “I’m so scared and it hurts so much. I’m so ugly now Lindir. So ugly and so… so scared.”

Those words… those horrid, terrible words finally made the tears in my eyes fall, and my body too shook alongside hers. 

“Y/N,” I sniffed, pulling her once soft face from my chest, bringing her E/C gaze to mine, “I promise, love. You are not ugly. You’re so so beautiful. Those scars that you say cover your sweet, precious skin are a sign of your beauty. Y/N, you’re so strong and so so beautiful. And with time, darling, you’ll be even more radiant than before I promise. And, where there once was reason to fear, there is no longer. I’ll protect you, always… and this time, I’m never letting you go.”

I kissed her lips lightly, before staringly anxiously into her eyes, eyes that were filled with wonderment, or perhaps my lonely, longing heart was confusing fear and hate with some emotion more positive in order to keep it from breaking once more. 

But all my fears melted away as she pressed her lips to mine sweetly. Sweetly, and passionately and desperately. It was through that kiss I realized she was just as hurt, just as heartbroken as I. I realized that she had lived with the fear that she might not live to see the light of day again each and every day for the past 100 years. 

And with the realization, the tenderness, and love that our hearts had been destitute of finally returned. I felt in her delicate touch at every point at which our skins brushed against the others’. And I knew she could feel it in the way my hands cradled her soft features, for she only pressed further until I toppled over backward. Her small form followed me and before I could reassemble my bearings, we were both in a tangled heap upon the floor, tears of pure euphoria seeping from our eyes. Our laughter rang throughout the little room, and at last, the whole world seemed brighter. At last the world seemed warm again. My heart bathed in the sunshine that was Y/N’s love for me as the sun in my heart rose once more, chasing away the wolves and the rabbits, allowing the flowers of my soul to bloom again, and for the happiness to resettle itself in the home it once had within me, within Y/N, within us. 

I wrapped my arms entirely around Y/N’s form as she giggled happily. She squealed as I brought her close to me, our faces nearly touching as I gazed fondly into her eyes once more. I nudged her nose with my own and snuggled it into the small space just between her glistening eyes and perfect nose. The tingling that erupted at the tip of my nose told me that she returned the gesture, and when I opened my eyes, I saw the most beautiful sight I had ever seen… her radiant, warm smile. 

“Oh, Y/N,” I cooed, my arms completely encircling her delicate frame as I kissed her forehead, honey dripping my lips, “no amount of words could explain my joy at your return.”

“And mine could never express the joy I feel at finally being with you again, my home.”

Pretty Odd (Things Have Changed For Me and That's Okay) by Cadensaurus (Ao3). Baby!fic in which one day, Phil wakes up with a baby in his bedroom and finds out that apparently he and Dan are the only ones who don't know where this baby came from, as everybody else claims that it's Phil's. What happens next is they then end up raising a baby together, with no less than a few existential crises from both of them along the way, as well as plenty of blunders and mishaps. Oh, and through it all, Phil starts falling for Dan but doesn't dare tell him because he can't risk losing his best friend.

Missing Pieces by existentialcatwhiskers (Ao3). When an accident occurs in the middle of filming a new video for the gaming channel, Dan finds himself becoming more reliant on Phil than he was comfortable with. Unfortunately, Dan needs the help and can't push Phil away, but he can feel the situation beginning to dredge up feelings that Dan had pushed away years ago and buried deep within himself.

No Strings by @phangirlingforphan. Phil really misses sex and it turns out that Dan really misses sex, too. So…they just decide to have sex together. No strings. FWB minus the usual dramatic storyline that follows. Hilarity and #bants ensues.

Galaxies and Greenhouses by @fourthingsandawizard whom you should definitely check out ;). When Dan meets a boy with piercings and a dragon tattoo while shopping in Diagon Alley, he’s pretty quick to jump to conclusions, much to his own embarrassment. But as they become fast friends, they both come to see that sometimes the most important lessons learned at Hogwarts are the ones that happen without a wand.

Ethreal by @sin-n-city. AU- Super powers. Dan’s not normal. In fact, he’s never met a single person exactly like him. No one else can move objects with their mind, just by a simple thought. He lives life carefully, limited interactions and semi-non-existent social life. That is, until a pair of sapphire blue eyes change everything. Dan Howell/Phil Lester, PJ Liguori/ Chris Kendall.

Geez, that’s a lot. Well, 9, 12, 14, 26, & 26 were already answered in previous posts, so I’m skipping those. The rest? Uh…here goes.

2. Is there a ship you didn’t like at first but ultimately started shipping?

Hmm. Um. I guess Alex/Maggie of Supergirl. At first, I liked it better when Maggie rejected Alex, and thought they could go in a better direction for them after Alex came out, but was then rejected. And I still believe that. But, it’s a canon lesbian pairing, and they’re cute, so sure.

5. What is your most fluffy + happy ship?

…Nothing is. I have fluffy and happy moments that I enjoy and love, but ultimately, I don’t think that I have any pairings that started or will remain that purely happy at any time. Which leads to…

6. What is your most angsty ship?

Everything, probably. All of my ships are full of angst. My more known pairings that I support are gay, so easy gayngst right there. And then otherwise, I just like adding drama and struggles in for everyone. Because torture is good.

10. Is there a ship that makes your skin crawl?

Uh, not particularly. Like, you kind of have to reach for stuff that I wouldn’t think works, which most people either wouldn’t think of, or care about themselves.

For example, if anyone seriously shipped something like Fox/Pigma, kudos to you for going the distance on something so hideous and loving it, but goodness, that’s probably my limit.

Also, I guess stuff involving characters that are underage, but do nothing to age them up. Like, if Bowser Jr. is suddenly in an AU fanfic where he’s in his 20s and courting Peach’s daughter or something, ok, sure. But, if Bowser Jr. is paired straight up with Peach, as a child with an adult? Yuck.

11. What is a character you can only imagine in one particular ship?

The struggles of being a multi-shipper include that you’re typically good at pairing off characters and don’t need them to stay in their ships. Continuing on Star Fox’s examples, I guess, I’d pass Fox around to basically anyone else in the series that I think somehow works.

It’s pretty easy when characters aren’t defined enough, or if you’re not close-minded to headcanons like, “Fire Emblem’s Inigo/Laslow likes all the ladies, but would totally get with guys too, when he’s practiced enough.”

15. What is the first ship you had?

Isn’t this just a repeat of that “oldest ship” question? Whatever, I guess something basic. Mario/Peach, out of sheer laziness, because I liked them together as a couple a while ago, like around when the first games came out. I’ve paired them off since, and I did fall out of it at some point probably, but I don’t know, they’re a nice pair overall.

16. Is there a ship that made you realize something about yourself?

…As in…? I mean, I’ve realized that I love writing lots of pairings? And that I like cute, tender moments, amidst all kinds of hard, turbulent trials? Writing hero/villain things makes me realize how to be kinder to those that we don’t immediately understand? I don’t know, one of those should answer this.

17. Is there a type of ship you always go for?

Nerd/Jock or Popular/Shy have become my go-to pairs, especially gay ones, because yes.

Usual stereotypes in stories include some bigger, muscle dude in a bitter relationship/rivalry with a smaller, smarter guy, or otherwise a quiet, lonely girl that struggles to standout against a loud, popular girl.

So, whenever that happens and when I’m not rolling my eyes from it, I’m like, “But what if they secretly had crushes on each other instead?” And honestly, that’s so much more satisfying, like I can’t even begin.

18. Is there a ship the writers have ruined for you?

Oliver/Felicity, no contest. I think I still have it as a couple that I like, but the longer that Arrow goes on for, the more that I don’t like them together anymore.

It was a cute idea, it could have made for a cute endgame or fun one-off idea. But the writers of the show twisted it so hard to work throughout Season 4 and at moments in Season 3 and Season 5 that I literally can’t stand it.

When it gets to the point where Felicity gets a scene to punch not-Laurel, basically feeding into shipping war fans and siding with one over the other, that’s my limit. Shipping wars happen, but it’s best when writers and stories don’t go out of their way to side with one; you pick one to be canon in the end, not give them ammo to be jerks to other fans with.

19. Is there a ship the fandom has ruined for you?

Let’s stray from the above, because I barely touched into the Arrow fandom once to see Olicity shippers, and goodness, I don’t need to go back.

Hmm. I don’t think any Steven Universe ships have been ruined for me yet, but I feel a lot less comfortable supporting them like I used to. An official artist was chased off of Twitter by Amedot (Amethyst/Peridot) fans, and that was a pairing that I totally supported before I learned about that happening.

Outside of that, it’s not so much that ships get ruined as much as they grow stale to me. Keeping it with SU, I’ve grown very weary of Ruby/Sapphire. It’s like, the series has content that could go for any Gem pair-ups, but because they’re the canon lesbians, they win all kinds of cute and lovely fan art.

Like, I love them, but it’s exhausting to see and go, “Oh. Another fan art of Ruby and Sapphire being gay. How original.” It’s especially weird because they’re not main cast individually (Garnet is), so…yeah.

22. Is there a ship you’ll never admit you have?

Probably, I’m sure. By answering it specifically, that means that I’m admitting to it, right? So, good, I don’t have to think, lol.

24. What is one scene you want to see happen for all your ships?

Well, who wouldn’t want to see their OTPs get married? Isn’t that like the most obvious…really, why is that a question?

25. Is there a ship you wish you didn’t know existed? 

I guess not really. There are ships that gross me out. There are ships that bore me. There are ships that have fans that turn me off of them. But I don’t think there’s anything that I wish I didn’t know about. Otherwise, that would make me feel ignorant upon learning it, or I’d be missing out on some drama.

28. Is there a character you have several ships for?

Gosh, I really need to make it clearer that I’m a multi-shipper. Yes, I can ship multiple characters in multiple ways.

Mario, Peach, and Bowser are all in one love-triangle. I can pair that one off in any way, if not pairing all three of them off together. I don’t care.

Just because I would fight to have Machamp and Alakazam as a couple being a thing and actively encourage people to follow them, they’re not exclusive, and I could see either with other Pokemon.

I started Arrow and thought that the moments between Oliver and Diggle should have become romantic. Some episodes still make me think they should’ve been a couple.

Steven Universe has no “perfect” canon pairing outside of Ruby/Sapphire, and therefore everyone is open game. Do I like Pearl/Rose more than Greg/Rose? Some days. Sometimes Pearl seems better with Amethyst. Or Lapis. Or Peridot.

Every character I come across has a relationship with other characters that, if they have enough development, could be seen in a romantic light. Therefore, I like the idea of any of those.

29. What is the ship you ignore 98% of canon for?

Well, I guess that’s anything Pokemon, because Trainers are always needed, but I usually say, “screw them, go monsters.”

If it means anything with enough plot, then I guess nothing. I don’t really ignore canon, and like to work with it when possible.

If this means for confirmed canon ships, I usually acknowledge canon relationships, especially if it’s beaten to death with confirmation. It doesn’t mean that I’ll automatically like it, but I won’t pretend that it doesn’t exist.

30. Is there a ship you like but you dislike the fandom?

I think Steven Universe is the go-to for that. It’s most definitely not the entire fandom, but I’ve heard my fair share of stories.

Like in the above posts, I like many ships, and I like pairing off characters in Steven Universe any which way that I can. If anyone is looking to tell me, “No, you can’t do that, it’s not canon,” or, “No, you can’t do that, because this one’s better,” then that’s not ok.

The SU fandom is full of that kind of attitude, and the whole “shipping wars” type of attitude. I don’t approve of shipping wars, period. I like comparing and contrasting ships. I like that everyone has different opinions about pairings.

I like civil conversations on them, and people understanding differences and respecting different approaches to pairs. Even things that I’ve talked against, such as the earlier mentioned Fox/Pigma, I wouldn’t outright hate someone over. Like, do you really ship them together? Ok, cool.

There are all kinds of different flavors out there to try. Some you like, some you won’t. You shouldn’t be close-minded to that, and you shouldn’t hate someone for having a different taste from yours.

If the fandom thrives on debate topics that involve insults and rabid hatred of one another, that’s not worth the time or energy. It’s that simple.

My Pokemon AS team ohohoho~~ (plus ramblings)

Considering I love KHUX now... yeah, they’re named after the Dandelions Leader~

-Skuld/Gothitelle: According to Alpha Sapphire’s dex entry, Gothitelle is said to predict the future from the placement and movement of stars. Future and Stars sounds like Skuld, which is why I choose Gothitelle. (But, man, searching for one is damn difficult).

-Ephemera/Altaria: I wanna a Whisicott because it looks like a dandelion (and Eph’s hair too lol!!). But, oh well, Altaria’s wing looks like Eph’s fluffy hair so... 

   Uhh... just forget it, ‘kay?

-Lauriam/Roserade: This one is my personal fav. of all, especially my Roserade learns Petal Blizzard!! Ohoho~~ But I prefer trickier moves like Sunny Day and Solar Beam combination. But, nah, I also prefer attacking with moves like Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb and a grass-type move.

-Blaine umm...Brain? just prefer calling him Blaine/Absol: Well, Blaine knows that disaster would occur (while Absol can predict them). I don’t wanna blame both Blaine and Absol for the upcoming disaster because... it will happen anyway (we do not know the benefit of Blaine being the virus, by means in his pov whether that would save everyone i.e. Ven and the remaining surviving Dandelions, perhaps?).

-Strelitzia/Bellossom: At first, I prefer Mariill -> Azumarill because I planned to have a Whimsicott nicknamed Ephemera. And in my personal opinion, Mariill -> Azumarill works well for Strelitzia’s non-grass type pokemon (I wonder that kind of AU exists?). However, I still prefer her and Lauriam to have grass-type so I changed Ephemera instead.

  I decided Bellossom because I wanna teach Bellossom trickier moves... but aw... (in short, the pokemon can’t. Tchh!!). But I don’t hate this pokemon either.

-Ventus/Swellow: I prefer Ven to have any flying type. And I wanna get any pokemon with one of Dandelions Leaders’ name already! Which is why Swellow (caught as Taillow). Overall, I love his speed. His second strong point is... attack. Definitely will use him against speedier pokemon.

Tbh, Ephemera-Altaria and Blaine-Absol are only excuses because I need one or two Mega Evolving Pokemon!!

True kink!  Honestly, had Andrew or Carson won, I woulda been happy, but I (proudly) voted for Allison twice, so it was like a mini-victory right there, especially considering the only time I didn't vote in the minority post-merge in Malibu was when I got Luke, my one shot at not fucking everything up, voted out. l o l 

 Anyway, I don't really trust anyone on the villains side, but I love my hero guys.  They're beautiful and faves, and I will trust them for now. :,) I know Drew and Billy 100% will have my back, and I assume Duncan, too... Mitch will be loyal to Billy, but he tried to throw my name out to Ash last vote sooo... don't really trust 'im!!!  I'm his 5th, and that does NOT make me happy. 

 I can't win this game, but I will try my hardest to make it to the end.  What we need to do is play up using the villains that wanna flip.  We need to make them think we have a clear target, so even if the vote goes 5-4-1, we still have majority as heroes.  And in the case of this "sapphire idol", the person with 1 vote goes.

 Billy told me that Isaac told him that he used this power revealer, and now Billy knows that Mitch has a super idol.  Ugly?  Yea.  That means we can't really touch Mitch, which wasn't a plan right now anyway, but he does need to be the first of the 5 to go, in my opinion.  Like he can't be around.  If he uses it on someone like me or Billy or Drew or Duncan, aka any of the other heroes, I mean... we should survive the round, and we should have numbers because they won't be able to out-do a super idol, so????  I don't know why he has to be so fake unless it was in case we blindsided him pre-merge which LOL wish I coulda done. 

 He already threw my name out there for Ash last vote, so I'm not surprised if he wants me at the bottom of the 5.  That's weird that he's like that considering how I'm the WEAKEST member of the 5, and he has people like Drew and Billy, who are both strong in the game (Drew for physical strength and Billy for strategic value), who he won't betray because... of reasons I don't know.  No matter what, we should be getting through this round okay, but.... I gotta hold out some hope.  It better not be my name that comes up.

Ok so we merged and I hope the villains can destroy the heroes because the villains are better and will always be ;3 also I hope our plan with the idol works and the villains get numbers but I don't know if it will work

Honestly, the Villains sound like one messy ass tribe.  Not saying the Heroes are any better, but like... they're in 2 factions, and they just want the Heroes gone first... like Y I K E.  I hope they try to use me .3.

So I've been contemplating flipping for the past few days. The only issue is that Jordan Pines is unwilling to flip unless a hero is voted out. And Duncan doesn't want to do that. 

 The ultimate problem is I've said to the heroes I trust that I want to flip. If I don't flip I'm going to become the person who always says they'll flip and then doesn't. And look where that got me in Malaysia. However I will still be badly perceived if I flip alone. I feel like if two people make a flip it's seen as a big move, but if only one person does, they're a flipper.

 I just don't trust Karen and Isaac at all. They've been after me since the start. And I'm certainly ready to make my move, but I'm not sure if it's viable yet.

1:20 AM. Time for a confessional. 

So voting out Ash was kind of hard. It sucks that I ended up on a tribe with people who are early premerge boots, because I felt even worse about reinforcing the fact that that's almost where they're destined to stay? Although Chrissa made FTC in another game, Brandon got pretty far in Canary, and Ash got 4th jury member in PI All stars. I hate that they had to die for our sins, but there's not much I can do if I don't want the vote turning on me. Speaking of the vote turning on me, I'm so grateful and amazed that I didn't get a single vote for me premerge. I knew being positive and being useful to my tribe would give them a good impression of how trustworthy I can be, but I didn't think it would work that well. People just kind of go along with what I say and it's nice. I feel like the heroes trust me, and I trust them. I hope in my heart of hearts that's the truth, but you never know when Billy or Brian or Drew will decide it's not a good idea to let me near the end. 

So merge happens, and the heroes immediately decide we need to make an alliance chat to discuss votes, which is great. I'm glad Drew took the initiative on that. I feel like Ash's unanimous vote really made us a cohesive unit, and we drop tea, discuss votes, it's a cute community. Our first night we discussed how this vote might go, and about all the legendaries that have been caught and all the powers that go with them. We learned Jordan had Entei and a vote burn and used it on Karen, Jay has a Suicune and the power to freeze someone's vote (we're not sure what that means), and Jordan also has Lugia and a sapphire idol. We don't know where Raikou is or what it really does (Billy was kinda vague about that, suspicious maybe?), Celebi apparently had nothing, and the heroes speculated on what Ho-oh could have.

 Of course I already know what Ho-oh has. Speculation happened on what it could be, so I pretended to have this moment of grand realization where Ho-oh has a super idol because it's a phoenix and it symbolizes rebirth. That and several other comments probably strongly hinted that I have it, but as far as I know, Billy and Brian didn't think much of it. However, I did know that Drew and Duncan could pick up on what I said because I told them Ho-oh gave me an idol before. Drew figured it out pretty quickly, Duncan took some guidance (he's been really tired lately, I hope work isn't dragging him through the mud.) I don't regret letting them know either; Duncan is my #1 ally as always, but Drew knowing I have the super idol means he can't turn on the heroes (me) without getting caught. I'm pretty sure he's smart enough to figure that out. It's an olive branch and a warning. 

 This super idol is my ticket to defending myself or defending the heroes, and I'm super glad I have it, because I think I'm the person with the most potential to use it in a game-changing way. Everyone knows I'm a threat, but everyone is focusing on other people to take out at the moment. That's not to say I'm getting out of this tribal with votes, I'm guaranteed at least one for sure, but I think some things are changing with the villains that can give the heroes and I the upper hand. I want the heroes' success, more than my own. As long as a hero wins this game, I can come out of this game feeling like I did something, which is bring my tribe to victory. I dread having to turn on each other at final 5 (ideally) because I know my ass is probably grass at that point unless I beat Drew for immunity. Or I could vote him out before then and not worry, but we just don't know.gif 

Ahh, I'm suddenly thinking about Final Tribal Council. I feel like I have a good shot to go really far with this super idol. Can you imagine me getting to the end without having to use a super idol? I'd be a nicer and more likable Tony Vlachos. That's an ugly comparison. I already feel more narcissistic. 

Anyway, let's move on to merge. The heroes are a tight group of 5 (Five Guys Burgers and Furgers Drew calls it) and the villains are something else. They seem like they're all over the place, and not as kumbaya as the heroes are (seem to be?) Within the first 2 hours of merge, Jay immediately comes to me and starts spilling tea like a clumsy butler wearing greased loafers. He tells me Jordan has a Sapphire Idol, that Lily, Karen, and Isaac have been targeting him since Stevie's vote-off, that he has a Suicune, and that he desperately wants to vote off Karen or Isaac, to the point that he's willing to join the heroes' camp to do it, and that he'll even drag Jordan Pines over with him. Score one for the heroes I guess. 

 AH yes, so let's expand on this a bit. Jay wants to create a heroes/villains alliance of me, Jay, Jordan, Drew, and Duncan (OK, assume whenever I say 'Jordan' from now on, assume it's Pines. Means is a sleeping fish who doesn't do anything socially) While I'm not opposed to the idea, the thought of turning on Brian and especially Billy makes my stomach flip. I'll let Jay and Jordan believe this alliance is legit, but ultimately I'm going to let my gut decide this much later. 

Of course, Jordan Pines complicates things like he always does. His existence in this game... basically scares the shit out of people. Billy is dead afraid Jordan will beat him again, while Jordan proudly announces on call that he wants to vote out Billy purely because he's about to have played more days than him in PI (Billy was not on call, 'twas Isaac, Drew, him, and myself.) Brian probably just feels whatever Billy feels? Duncan doesn't want to deal with him. I think Drew stands where I stand. 

 Where do I stand with Jordan Pines? Mutual respect. Sure he can be a bit off the wall, hell I'm scared of his unpredictability at times. But the very first time I met Jordan Pines, I went toe to toe with him and won, even knowing his chaotic background. That's not to say he can't kick my ass too, quite the contrary. But he and I are challenge rivals, puzzle rivals, we're like two sides of the same coin. I'm playing the heroes game, loyalty and all. He's playing the villains game, trickery and chaos. And I can respect him for that. And in a weird way, I think it would make us a powerful duo to be reckoned with. Of course, in an ideal situation he'd be a meat shield (Why vote off the person who has showered you with love and support over Jordan Pines, who is known to deceive and trick like he was born doing it [or so he says]) but for now I think he could be an incredible ally for the heroes. 

 Is this what he does? Does he brainwash people with mutual respect? I always hear people saying he's always condescending, but he and I don't have that banter? It's strange, I can read him and yet I can't describe him. The thing is, I have been blindsided by Jordan Pines before (not in Survivor, TAR rather) and I have also blindsided him (by turning his ego against him, Happy Jordan Pines Day) So I feel like I have a sense of when Jordan strikes. Right now I think he's telling the truth about wanting to vote out Karen/Isaac, but I'm very on the fence, like 55% truth, 45% lies. The sapphire idol is in (arguably) the most chaotic player's hands (And he's actually afraid to use it! That's amazing to me, that an idol's power is keeping him from doing something with it) and he's immune. Of course this could be a facade and Jordan's going to play the idol while he's immune to eliminate the risk of him getting voted out with it. See? I'm already confused about this, ANYWAY. The heroes are 5 strong, we need a direction to go in. I think turning the vote toward Isaac would be smarter, according to Duncan he's better at challenges than Karen. If Jay votes with us, we could easily have 6-4, and if Jordan joins in, 7-3. The alternative is splitting the vote in case Jordan plays the sapphire idol for fun. 6-3-1, 5-3-2, 5-4-1, so many possibilities. I'll wait for new information to come tomorrow before talking it over with the heroes. I'm excited for the possibilities of this vote, because I'm not gonna be merge boot one way or another. Praise the Ho-oh. 3:20 AM. I got distracted with videos about the Switch. 

Oh, here's a quick assessment of the villains. 

Isaac - Went on call with me, Jordan, and Drew, and proceeded to spill small but crucial details about the villains tribe dynamic, talking about Karen and Isaac's votes for Jay out of fear of the sapphire idol. An interesting character, but I think he could gain ground if he goes farther. Ideally he goes home now. 

Karen - Surprisingly quiet, hasn't messaged me with a "Bitchell" yet. I'd like for her to go sooner than later, for voting Jay, but also forgetting to vote in Palau and sending me home in the process. (I know, I told myself I'd seperate games, but come on, she had ONE job.) 

Jordan M - Listen, the only thing I know about this kid is how many memes he spreads in the tribe chat. He's playing almost no different than he did in Hawaii, I'm surprised he's lived this long without falling off a cliff. He votes early and goes to bed like always. Ideally? I'd give him 8th place again, only this time I'd actually be voting for him. 

Jordan Pines - Please just read what I already wrote. I've talked about him enough. 

Jay - One of my best friends in the community, but I have played TWO games with him now and being aligned with him has screwed me over very badly. I'm not looking to repeat that. I love him to death, but I will vote him out in a heartbeat (Sorry Jay, please forgive me if I do anything nasty to you in the future) However, he is a CRUCIAL source of knowledge, and he clearly trusts me enough to come with it in the first two hours of being on a tribe. I will certainly use my connection with him as much as I can before letting Billy and Brian eat him or something.

It's finally that time... we merged. And as soon as it happened I turned by back on the original five guys. Karen Isaac and I made a pact that we are getting Jordan out ASAP. We have Drew and Brian with us, who are also two people I trust more than anything.

 I also found the merge idol. So I guess I am as good as I thought.

 Jay has suicune, and Isaac found out about Mitch's super idol. So now I know where all the power lies. And we're going to have them wasted.

 ISAAC DID THAT AND EXPOSED IT AND NOW JORDAN IS TRYING TO SAPHIRE IDOL ME OUT. YOU THOUGHT HUH? We're breaking the Saphire Idol tonight. And jay should be the one leaving. Plus if it is me, I have all my advantages. If I sense anything funny I'm playing my idol. I'm not fucking around. Jordan WILL NOT beat me this game. No way, not this way.

 Plus once Mitch sees that their plan wasn't what we said it was, he'll be with us 100%. No more Jay to feed him false information. 

 Jordan has every reason to be scared of me. I'm not a light player. But yo come after me this way, after I just dealt with all this shit in my personal life is a low blow. So get fucked. You better hope you win all of the immunities from here on out. Because you're GONE next chance with no idol to save you.  And I know you have none, because I have the only two real idols and Mitch has the super idol. Surprise bitch.

Okay so we've merged which is fun and I'm in an alliance with Karen, Drew, Brian, and Billy and we're working together to fuck shit up™ And I thought to my gay self "Who better to fuck shit up than Despairsaac?" So I let him out and he exposed Mitch having items and now everyone knows about all the powers in the game with the exception of Jay having suicune and Billy having Raikou. Honestly this vote is so messy I can't put into words the strategy that's gone behind it. It's just fugly.

How does it feel to be in a game full of powers with absolutely zero powers? Pretty good. Pretty good. Anyway I'm so ready to die. Maybe Mitchy will save me with his super idol, probably not.

ok so ill gve u a summary of today: 

-villains come up with a 3-1-1 plan in which billy and mitch are both the ones and billy gets elimed 

-me billy isaac add drew and brian to our alliance -i scream 

-billy brian and drew all tell me the jp and jay have told them that theyre on the bottom, in which i yell bc its not realistic like what kind of crack 

-jp comes up with the plan to say that him and jay will "flip" on the 5-5 revote that the heroes think will happen 

-jay basically reveals that hes close with duncan and mitch 

-isaac exposes mitch about the super idol and vote revealer 

-everyone pretends to be (me billy and the others in the alliance)

 -the villains try to work the vote bc of the super idol -it is confirmed that mitch and duncan are gonna be voting for me billy comes up with a 3-3-2-1-1 in which i get 3 votes, frank gets 3 votes, jay gets 2 billy gets 1 and mitchum gets 1, hopefully this plan works with and without the sapphire idol being played, i should be kept if the vote ties and jay gets clocct with the sapphire idol if jp does play it
