Top 10 petty things that don't matter but which I care about greatly (and are recently relevant): please tell me you are aware that the song of Achilles is a retelling. Like, put my mind at ease that you know calling something "tsoa vibes" just because someone mentioned Achilles and Patroclus is completely meaningless unless you are specifically referring to the retelling by Madeline Miller. I am begging.

#honestly i care a lot but not even for good reason bc i couldnt care less about the actual achillespatroclus figures #i just dislike. several things tbh mostly the uh samenvallen van historical myth and fictional retellings #like its not a 1:1 ratio please have some sense #i also think that book was detrimental to many things adjacent to being gay/reading/classics and historical myth in general #ALSO i disliked extremely the way two people will be gay and the first thing people will latch onto is like. ooh an achilly patrocley moment #? no. a fucking regular old male homosexuality moment come on now #(i am not however vaguing who you think im vaguing because hes clearly thought about it a lot yk) #(mentioning also a little life and sonnet... whichever one it was) #(this isnt marwan going like oh a little moment- at least not to the extent i care about) #(but the way its replicated in fandom. makes me insaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane) #(and it IS petty ❤️ which is why im posting about it here and not on my other blog lol)
