Spring is peeking it’s head out from around the corner. When I wake, I can hear the birds chirp and sing to one another outside the window. The snowy days are melting into rainy days, green peeking out from under the blankets of white. The trees are not yet budding, but when I walk outside I can feel sun on my face and my cheeks warm. The world will soon be showing signs of growth; renewal. Things will be alright.

I will never get tired of Makoto offering Haru a hand out of the water
OMG I guess some things do change Makoto’s been dunked and I kinda love it
“I’m never gonna be a normal person” wow who is this this Goth Diet Haru
I love the phrase “hot minute” actually thank u for ur teen slang Asahi
Offering people his lecture notes and texting back right away will anyone ever be as good as Makoto? Trick question no
“I’m still young and innocent” “That’s a weird thing to say” I love that Haru’s meeting a bunch of people who aren’t used to his antics
This flashback seems to indicate that Haru felt Some Kinda Way about Ikuya which is weird because they look almost the same
“Don’t worry too much about the family” LMAO Sosuke has received a blessing from his cousin to follow Rin to Australia
“Just inferior copies of Ikuya” that’d be more meaningful if Ikuya had done anything other than stare broodingly
It’s telling that the Iwatobi team is dressed like the Wiggles in this outro
All this outro really told me is that they aren’t really that good at differentiating main character design
“We have to try not to spoil them too much” I approve of Ikuya’s brother and his co-parenting buddy
“I’m not going to move ever again,” said Asahi, with the full confidence of a twelve-year-old boy who knows absolutely nothing about anything
Okay but for real Ikuya and Haru straight up look like siblings this weird rivalry energy on top of that fact is a little bit Much
[Rose and Rosie voice] It’ll never work out their hair is the same colour
“Is Haru the guy who was all dressed up and riding a camel in the recruiting video we saw?” UNBELIEVABLE their Arabian Nights outro from S1 was actually their recruitment video Iwatobi do u take constructive criticism
“I’ll even be good enough to compete against you” how many rivals does one young man really need my god
Hey Trenchcoat Man maybe introduce yourself before telling these teens how to live their lives
Dude you’re so controlling trying to prevent Ikuya from seeing his friends
Ahhhhh I love Haru being in touch with his emotions and apologizing to Ikuya tbh I give Makoto and Rin a lot of the credit for his ability to communicate lmao
“I’d prefer you didn’t keep him too long” listen I get where you might be coming from since Haru hurt Ikuya’s feelings but also stop that
“Thought I’d give you a wake-up call” I really don’t like the vibe of Hiyori
“Japanese guy! Friend of yours, maybe?” An accurate representation of what it’s like to hang out with white people lmao
There’s a different vibe from a teenager who giggles about swimmers’ muscles to an adult swim coach who is coaching swimming at a university giggling about swimmers’ muscles put that away Mikhail
Hiyori gives me the straight up heebie jeebies every time he opens his mouth
I can’t read Japanese but I have to assume Rin was gonna call Haru and reminisce about their bed sharing night lmao
Natsuya is some kinda Swimming Capitalist Nomad I’m not mad about it
“How many of these dreams do you have?” that’s valid lmao Rin has #calledout for being a rival slut
“His face told me that what matters most to him is not here” I can’t tell if this is a reference to Ikuya or to Natsuya’s white-haired rival-friend-boyfriend-probably
You know what, in the context of this show: Boyfriend
“Hey, calm down. Listen, Archerfish--” HARU PLS
I don’t know Misae but the fact she calls her boyfriend Archerfish has already won me over
Hiyori would you fucking stop interfering this isn’t fair to Ikuya
“Ikuya’s too busy to waste his time reminiscing on childish things” well that should be Ikuya’s decision shouldn’t it like not 2 get 2 real but this is all the markers of an abusive relationship if someone does this to you please tell someone
God this stubbly weird man and his ominous advice STILL without any introduction
“I’m getting sick of hearing you speak for Ikuya like you’re his damn boss” ME TOO ASAHI
YOU CANNOT DECIDE WHO IKUYA’S FRIENDS ARE HIYORI YOU ABSOLUTE SHITPRETZEL
HA Ikuya knows you’ve been giving the boys the runaround fuckweasel
“If I swim with Tono, maybe it’ll help me understand him” Makoto coming after jerks with his best weapon: empathy <3
“People you swim with all seem to end up suffering, don’t they” LISTEN YOU ASSBANANA IT’S NOT HARU’S FAULT THAT PEOPLE GET OBSESSED WITH HIM HE’S JUST A GOOD SWIMMER
Omg I enjoy the drama of Sosuke interacting with the one (1) person in Japan who has seen Rin lately
“I have to admit, I’m a little disappointed there isn’t a single pudgy person here” like I know this is probably gonna be a running gag for their opposite body preferences but it’s also a self-burn for the creators of this show only drawing different scales of one body type
I really do love that Rei is swim team captain now my boy has come so far
Oh Romio is there anyone in this swim universe that doesn’t have some kind of Traumatizing Swim Experience
“Think about what your reason for jumping in is” Sosuke’s advice sounds like beautiful nonsense I don’t know how that’s supposed to help him concentrate on start times
Lmao I love this Overbearing Friend Gesture of Shizuru and Nagisa putting seaweed on Romio and Rei’s plates without asking kjhfkghfghfk
“Actually, if you don’t mind, we have a proposition” $500 says that Nagisa and Rei are about to propose a relay race
Update from 8 minutes later: Someone owes me $500
“Can you tell how proud I am?” Natsuya is such a good big brother <3
Hahahaha “a guy he wants to swim with again some day” Natsuya is also a good wingman for Rin lmao
Based on his inner monologue Sosuke should also be a swimming coach except in the vein of Cryptic Trench Coat Stubble Man who just offers random unsolicited advice to any teenage swimmer he passes by in the street
“I’m so proud of you” jgjhgjhg Shizuru I love you and your tears for Romio
What kind of child welfare laws are there in Japan that Hiyori’s parents were allowed to just leave him alone in the park
“When I saw [Haru] again, the weakness I thought I left behind came flooding back to me” the moral of this story is that competitive swimming makes you gay
Ikuya used to be fun and sweet lmao what made you so broody my dude
Lmao @ Hiyori being mad that Ikuya thinks of Haru as his Prince Eric instead of him
Wow I love Nao being a guiding force for this group of nerds
“I’m not hearting anything for you” Asahi understands Stranger Danger
It took Ryuji a solid six eps to even get a name u’d expect him to have a more important character connection than Rin’s Swim Coach’s Rival
“Then you should start swimming other stuff” I Love Misaki, Adopted Child of Haru and Makoto
Well this wistful playground vibe has taken a strange turn
“It’s none of your damn business okay!!” TONO JUST GOT DUMPED HA
KJGHKJGH THE RAGE IN HARU’S VOICE ABOUT THE MACKEREL
Ryuji: He can just buy me dinner or something. I’m not picky. As long as it’s not mackerel
Haru [through gritted teeth]: I’m ready when you are
AH I LOVE KISUMI AND ASAHI BABYSITTING TSUKUSHI
“After all we’ve been through, why does it have to be like this?” U MADE IT LIKE THIS HIYORI
HAHAHAHAH Makoto and Ryuji had a standoff of wills and Ryuji lost
“Maybe it’s time for you to approach things more seriously” Nao has declared it’s time to stop sowing your wild oats and settle down Natsuya
Kazuma only shows up to remind Sosuke he is free to run away to swim whenever
“Hope you’re well” “Hey relax I’m not your dad” [Natsuya immediately begins acting like their dad]
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH GO HARU LEADING HIS CATEGORY
“I don’t think he’s all that bad of a guy” that’s Stockholm Syndrome Ikuya
I’m glad Ikuya is finally fucking having a meaningful conversation with his friends
“In the water I’m alone. No one’s gonna save me” Get therapy Ikuya!!!
Wow Haru joining a race purely to have an Emotional Confrontation with Ikuya is some kinda growth I’m just not sure what exactly
“That guy’s the only one anyone ever talks about” to be fair if your sample size is Iwatobi swimmers they are all a little in love with him
“That’s our BOYYYYYYYYYY” Aw Asahi <3
Ghjkghk I love Makoto teasing Haru for being Ikuya’s hero
“Oh, you’re wise now?” AWWWW Ikuya is fun again good for him
I know that Ikuya reaching out in friendship to Hiyori is supposed to be a sign of emotional security but I haven’t forgiven him for the way he’s manipulated Ikuya!!! Ur a seawitch not a Prince Eric!!! >:((((
I’m super thrown about them going straight from the qualifiers to the next race what will the last four episodes of this season be about
“I’ve been giving myself pep talks in the mirror. ‘I am a genius. I am a genius.’” HAHAHAHA I LIKE FUN IKUYA
“Looks like you beat me” “Just in free” Haru has released Ikuya into the universe for Hiyori and I don’t like it (for Ikuya’s sake) but that’s how it be I guess
How many siblings are there in the Mikoshiba family lmao there’s a new one every season
“But gender doesn’t mean anything in a competition” I like u Lady Mikoshiba
“You mean you were Russian this whole time??” this is a lot to digest
I LOVE RIN’S PUDGY CAT STEVE LOL IS IT THE SAME IN JAPANESE
“The water likes you. I can tell” ALBERT PLS, Haru is already FULL-UP on homoerotic swim relationships
It’s killing me that they keep cutting to Makoto like Haru’s cheating on him though
Not to undermine the subplot of these last three episodes but hasn’t Haru... lost races before hgkjhgk
“I thought something soft and cute would help balance out that scary face of yours” omg STOP this cuteness
Gghkhgk these flashbacks and Rin crying over Sosuke’s surgery are SO cute I never thought I would feel so proud of Rin way back in S1 he’s grown so much!!
Makoto being surrounded by ladybugs and butterflies like a wholeass Disney Prince
WHY are ALL of these swimming weirdos SOMEONE’S UNCLE
“You’re still as weird as ever, Haru’s the exact same way” I should start tracking how long in a conversation it takes characters to bring up Haru
Gnjghkjhg Makoto gets through to Haru in 0.5 seconds after two weeks of him ignoring his own coach. The power of fish metaphors and Love™
Kinda seems like they are setting it up like Makoto will also get to travel the world for swimming and let me say... I’m not mad about it
Update from like 2 minutes later: I WAS RIGHT
“That’s the evil king who wanted the magic lamp” the Arabian Nights references kill me every time
Djkhdkjhd Ryuji labelling Mikhail in his phone as “Muscle Freak” that’s tru friendship
“You should say, ‘I’m totes hip with the kids, yo’” Ryuji pls
“You’re so cute, you must be Iwatobi’s famous Kou” KHGKHGKJHKJ 3/3 MIKOSHIBA KNOCKOUT KOU
Awwwww Rei is so nervous for nationals my sweet baby boy
I ADORE that Rin and Haru are literally running across the city right before their most important meet bc they want to see their friends swim
Rrgjhgr the one and only backstory in this show is former childhood friends and it applies to every single character
OMG Rei get his own flashback but with his boy Nagisa I love it
“I think he’d make a good rival for you actually” Makoto Tachibana: Rival Matchmaker
GOOD JOB BOYS U DID GOOD (ALSO TEAM PHOTO I WEEP)
“Try not to cry when I beat you” SOSUKEEEEEEEEEE
Wow this final episode is already clutching at my heart right out of the gate baby Haru 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Makoto letting four more boys pile into his one bedroom for the night bc he’s the Best Boy Alive
HJGHJKGH THIS EXCHANGE
Mikhail: That’s what I call ‘totes hip with the kids’
Nearby youths: [Giggling]
Mikhail: [Soft indignant gasp] Ryuji!!
Natsuya and Ikuya have the cutest sibling relationship gjkghk THEY
The theme of this season is people hugging each other and crying over the lanes and I LOVE THAT 4 THEM
Rin and Haru and Makoto........... are good boys
“What is this, some kind of teen drama” that is exactly it, Rin
“He won’t stop talking about stupid crap like friendship and bonds” I love three (3) boys
Tumblr media
Bonus: Out of Order Liveblog of Free! Take Your Marks + S3E0
Haru dropping his pants in Makoto’s apartment without the immediate context of them being near water was the most high stakes moment in this entire anime I had no idea where that was going
Haru leaving his apartment hunting until the day before he moves: Mood
Sidenote: Makoto and Haru going apartment hunting is domestic as HELL I love it
“The two of you are inseparable, huh?” “We’re friends, deal with it.” Let people be gay Kisumi
Lmao @ Nagisa and Rei’s yoga pose video Iwatobi is the cutest swim team in the world
“Then one day even those tears will dry out in the Tokyo desert” who hurt you, Ms. Amakata
“Allow me to welcome you to Tokyo, the city where love and lust intertwine” Free! Love and Lust could really be a subtitle of this anime lmao
“I’m talking about the whole bunkbed situation, you know, top and bottom” lmao shout-out to Sloane for that one art
I love the wordless communication between Makoto and Haru (and for that matter, Sosuke and Rin) I’m so glad they worked things out
I’m also happy Rin and Kou are cool now they used to have quite a gap
“Rin wasn’t that honest with himself” rjghg Rin and Haru miss each other
“This is the one,” said Haru, next to Makoto, His Completely Platonic Best Friend Who Dreams About Them Sharing An Apartment and Dropping Trou
I LOVE STEVE THE FAT CAT. AN ICON. A BEAUTY. CHUNKY BABY
“The treasure is inside the red shark’s mouth” there is DEFINITELY a Rin joke to be made here and the writers knew it
I don’t know what I love about this more that Aii and Momo are TERRIBLE at scheming or that that they are throwing Rin and Sosuke together on White Day lmao
This team vacation... Sosuke giggling bc he was tickled... !!!!!!! THANKS
I’m loving all these teams getting presents for each other jkhgkjg
Oh am I finally going to understand this Momo and Capybara backstory
Lol @ Natsuya pouring his heart abt Nao to Sosuke wholly unsolicited
“What were you about to ask” “Oh, not anything important (I’ll wait for you Sosuke)”
OHHHHHHHHHH THE CHARM BACKSTORY SOSUKEEEEEEEEEE
Oh Christ alive am I about to watch the Arabian Nights recruitment film
Hhhgjgjhg I gather the only reason Haru got his license was to compete with Rin
“I’m the evil king who is after the lamp for his own selfish reasons” I hate this... but also... I love this???
“I am a mysterious peddler. I travel carrying mysterious bundles. While riding atop of my mysterious partner Chappy the Camel” HARU STOP
OH MAKOTO HONEY U POOR SOUL JHGKHFKJGH
“Makoto. When I’m nervous I think about mackerel” I am going to expire
“I think the three of you should implement your own version of it” Fhjkhgk Haru is telling them to exploit their bodies for school recruitment but also that’s not really anything new so fair enough
Nagisa: Rei is Perfect Killer Muscles Handsome in my heart!!!!!!
“Maybe I’m never going to understand him” Omg @ The Jilted Middle School Exes of Haru Club
“How David had to give up his love.... And then Veronica, knowing they couldn’t see each other anymore” call me crazy but I think Rin is projecting his own issues onto A Rat’s Life LMAO
Tjehjkhkje Sosuke needing to call Rin bc he got lost on his way to the bathroom... Useless Husband Energy
HAHAH Rin is so upset thinking Momo and Kou are dating
At least Rin recognizes that he doesn’t get to decide who Kou dates he can only express his approval or disapproval
“Momotaru Mikoshiba is a man who lives by passion” gjhgjhg stop this
“Rin would never lose to a persimmon, ever!” MAKOTO R U OK
“You are not less than a persimmon!” THESE BOYS. U R SO DUMB BUT ALSO GET U A FRIEND LIKE THE IWATOBI SWIM CLUB
“It’s cool if you need to cry” “If you stay in the pool no one will ever notice your tears” I LOVE SOSUKE AND HARU TEAMING UP TO TEASE RIN
I also deeply appreciate that even though I’ve never heard their Japanese voices I know exactly who is saying what line in this outro just by dialogue and tone of voice
+
“I have a crippling fear of mascot costumes” “Then why did you take this job” kjhgkjhgkjh if that isn’t a work mood
Wait... if Makoto is going to be the substitute wrestler... WILL HARU BE THE SUBSTITUTE MASCOT AHHHHHHHH
WAIT NO I HAVE GRAVELY AND HILARIOUSLY MISUNDERSTOOD MAKOTO IS GOING TO BE BOTH MASCOT AND WRESTLER
“Iwa means ‘boulder’ and ‘tobi’ means ‘black kite’ so it’s a boulder-headed bird!!” Well that’s more of an explanation for the appearance of the Iwatobi mascot than I ever expected, Nagisa
“You don’t have a crippling fear of mascot costumes, do you?” No but I have feeling Makoto is about to develop one
Oh it’s THIS FUCKPUDDLE who asked u to be here Hiyori
“I don’t exactly hate it” high praise Ikuya lmao
Thkjhtkjh I love Natsuya’s long distance relationship it’s sweet
HAHAHA is the beak thing supposed to be a ploy so people see Makoto’s face
“I cannot let Haru see me like this” “Hi Makoto” HAHAHAHAH I LOVE THIS WHOLE INTERACTION AND ALSO HOW HARU JUST GOES ALONG WITH ALL OF IT
Also I don’t know how Makoto was planning to hide his identity after he was addressed as “Mr. Tachibana”
LMAO @ MAKOTO BEING RECOGNIZED BY HIS LEG MUSCLES I’M SCREAMING
“Hey Makoto, use a backstroke!!” HARU PLEASE
“Well done, you’ll be a great mascot someday” “Thanks? I think?” This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen and I loved it
Oh my goooood Haru bringing Makoto presents for his siblings.... they have ascended to the college relationship levels of Natsuya and Nao
Man Ikuya could not radiate stronger “leave me alone” vibes
“Wow you boys make a dashing pair” you said it Suit Lady not me

Pizza & a Beer are the new Netflix & Chill || Taron & Phoebe
Summary: Couch dates are what happen, when the kids are away... God, they’re such parents now!
When: End of November, 2018
How was time running away so quickly these days? Taron’s birthday seemed like it already was a million years away and even though they had his family around to celebrate they had not even had a chance for a proper date night yet, something they usually did whenever they had the advantage of parents around and phoebe was not going to wait until Christmas when they’d either have her and his parents here or go visit one of them. So instead, she had booked his family a lovely little trip to New Orleans for a day and a night with the babies and his sisters so they’d have the house to themselves and could actually do nothing but relax and enjoy each other’s company. “Can you hear that?” Phoebe asked, referring to the fact that there was in fact nothing that anyone could hear right now. “It’s quiet. An empty house. I mean...an empty house and a zoo!”
Taron had just entered their living room, when he heard his wife’s voice and grinned in reply, as he made his way over to her and plonked down next to her on the couch. The past two weeks had gone by so quickly- his birthday, Elton’s concert, the Robin Hood press tour and premiere in the US… it felt like he had been surrounded by people every moment of every day - and now, the house felt strangely calm. “What did you do.” he asked Phoebe amusedly, “did you magically make our family disappear?” Stretching out his legs in front of him, he slumped further on the couch, and leaned against her. “Our furry roomies are all outside and enjoy playing with the leaves in the garden.” Recently, he had noticed that Cousin It had started building a winter nest on their porch, which their pets had become protective of and had begun dragging all leaves towards it. “What do we do with our newfound freedom?”
---
“Yes, I made them magically disappear, impressed?” Phoebe asked laughing while she moved to lay her head onto Taron’s legs, looking up at him grinning. “The magic trick is called a trip to New Orleans, your sisters were very excited to see where the show was made, so it was easier to be honest!” Autumn was well on its way and the garden was turning all shades of burnt orange and while Phoebe enjoyed that a lot, she enjoyed watching their animals play outside even more. “Its the sweetest thing, isnt it?” She really wasn’t looking forward to the colder months, but this was beautiful and she was keen to enjoy it until it lasted and was swapped for freezing cold and snow. “Give me a few minutes to make sure this peace and quiet is real...I don’t trust it just yet!”
---
“With you? Always.” Grinning at her, he nodded, his hand almost automatically moving to run his fingers through her hair, as she laid down. “And they didn’t beg you to go with them? I’m surprised - they can be pretty convincing.” Both Poppy and Katie loved Phoebe with all their hearts, from the first time he had taken her home to Aberystwyth, and they remained very much attached to their sister-in-law to the point where they stole her away from him, whenever they were around. He couldn’t be mad about that, however, not when he loved witnessing that so much. “Do you think she’ll go into hibernation this year?” he asked - last year, Cousin It hadn’t hibernated apart from sleeping more and eating less than usual, and it had them a little worried. “You’ll get to wrap up in my sweaters again.” He could see on her face that she was mourning the warm months of summer already, while he was looking forward to winter finally arriving full force. “I’m happy with that.” He kept up his slow threading of his fingers through her hair, while he looked down at her lovingly - full of awe at how much their lives had changed in the past year, and how much he loved all of it, including these moments of quietude. “I might do something daring, though,” he laughed, and bent his head to steal a kiss, leaving one on the tip of her nose, too.
---
“I’m not sure, I think it’s be the healthy thing for her to do, but then again I think we’d all miss her a lot so I’ll selfishly hope not? As long as she can happily be without it?” It was the oddest thing, the fact that cousin it in fact had not gone into hibernation, something phoebe herself would most likely do if she had the chance and if humans were made to go into a deep slumber over the winter months. “Your sweaters are the only thing that can get me through the winter, I’m not going to lie. Never miss Australia more than i do when it’s cold! How can you enjoy it that much?” It was fascinating to her to see how much Taron enjoyed winter and while she loved the idea of him passing that onto the kids and them being excited for snow and all, she’d forever be sceptic. “Something daring? Oh, like what? Open a bottle of wine before 5pm and order pizza?” She teased her husband softly before leaning up a little to seek his lips once more, his kiss being over way too quickly.
“We’ll leave a bowl of water and some dried fruit out for her, what do you say?” Before meeting Phoebe, he had only had a pet as a child, a dog he had loved dearly, but since being with her, he had realised how much he loved having animals around the house. Yes, they might cause chaos and leave a mess once in a while, but the love and adoration, and the care they received in return for caring for their roomies was something he didn’t want to miss out on ever again. “Your sweaters are my sweaters,” he told her generously, and then laughed at his mishap, adding “the other way round, actually, but you know what I mean, love!” Given that she had grown up in a warm country, he understood, why she didn’t enjoy winter the same way he did, but he still would try to make her wrap up and take her out to make snow angels or have snow fights with him anyway, and then make sure she warmed up properly again. “Do you want to go to Australia for Christmas again? I know my family will love the warmth as much as you do.” Her words let the smile on his face grow to a full-blown Taron-like grin, and he leaned back in to meet her half-way, and kiss her once more. A kiss that lingered for a long while, unhurried, full of love for Phoebe. “I was thinking Netflix, pizza and beer, but your version sounds classier...” His hand cupped her cheek, and he let his thumb trace over her cheekbone, as he gazed down at her lovingly. “But I’m very happy to stay right here, too.”
---
“Oh absolutely, it does sound like we need that out there - I wouldn't want the poor baby to miss anything!” His little mishap on the sweater situation made her grin softly, him correcting himself was what made her laugh though. It was sweet and while she had known what he meant she still couldn't help but laugh. His offer to go to Australia again made her smile brightly, while she knew just time wise and effort wise with the travels it would be easier to stay here or visit his family, she did love the idea to go to Australia again. “I mean especially with Teresa and the newest baby on the way I’d love to be home for a little bit over Christmas, but I don’t want you and your family to have to give up on snow and Christmas at home, are you sure they really wouldn’t mind? Ultimately it was something she wanted the whole family to agree on really, even if that would take some talking. “Oh, but yours sounds more comfortable, your suggestion wins! Actually anything that means not leaving the couch for more than 5 minutes wins!”
---
Her kind, big heart was one of the things Taron loved about Phoebe so much, and her words only confirmed it more - no matter how big or small, she took care of everyone in their little family and beyond, made sure everyone knew they were loved and wanted. Her laughter shook him out of his reverie, and he turned his grin onto her once more, nodding at her suggestion. “It’ll be our babies’ first Christmas in Australia! We should definitely go visit them all and Bumpy, while we’re there. Take the boys off their hands for a few hours, too.” His family was more like her than him, when it came to cold and snow, and so he added, “I’m sure they’ll love to be invited and have everyone get together again. We’ll ask them tonight, all right?” He knew family was important to Phoebe, hers as much as his, and with their little family on the move, neither would have to lose out on seeing them. Taron started laughing at her agreeing, remarking cheekily, “if that’s the only prerequisite, I really should have suggested having sex on the couch… we wouldn’t have to move off the couch for that, either.” The house being as empty as it was, they had all the choices left wide open to them.
—-
“You are the most amazing husband and human being, do you know that?” Phoebe asked, smile big and honest as she looked at him. His compassion was absolutely incredible and the way he had embraced her family and friends would never cease to amaze her. “I would absolutely love that, yes, that sounds absolutely fantastic!” The idea made her happier than she had thought, until now not realising how much she wanted to actually go home to Australia with the kids for Christmas. “I am inclined to agree, but can we order Pizza first? Cause now you also put Pizza on the table and..I do want both!” Phoebe teased him right back grinning before she stretched out to try to reach her phone. “Also, starving so we do need to get food first. Regret marrying me yet?”
---
“How come?” Her comment surprised him, but her warm words left him blushing more than anything else. She liked to remind him of it often, and he never quite got used to it - although it always left him with a particularly warm feeling inside. “We could buy the tickets tonight, when our family is back from their trip?” Apart from having to read a few scripts, his schedule was wide open which meant they could go whenever Phoebe and him wanted. “That’ll mean we’ll get to see your new show there. I’m really excited about it!” Seeing her work made him happy, and knowing one could be around with the kids, while the other was on set, let him rest easy - Julian and Sadie had never had to go long without both parents around. “Aw, bloody… I should’ve known - ” Taron laughed and shook his head at his wife with increasing amusement. “Let’s feed you first!” Watching her try and reach her phone was amusing, and he was tempted to push it out of her reach with his foot, just to see what would happen. In the end, he leaned over her to grab it and hand it to her. “You choose - as long as there is much cheese, I’ll be happy. Tell Ambrosio to make it a big pizza.” He’ll happily wait til they had eaten, but he still stole a kiss from Phoebe, before the phone connection with their favourite pizzeria was made.
—-
“We should, especially if we all want to sit together! We are like a little army of people. Or a football team!” He was right though, it would be exciting and she could see the season premier of her own show with her family and especially with Taron by her side. The fact that they managed to both work and still stay spend as much time with each other and the kids, as a family, it was special. Truly, truly special. “You should have known, yes..but hey, come on Pizza!” She was very thankful for his little help to finally reach her phone before he told her to choose whatever “Are you sure? Cause last time you complained that there was a massive amount of veggies on there, so I just wanna make sure you won't hate me, or my pizza order!” Phoebe told him laughing before she dialled the number, kissing Taron back for a moment before she leant back to order a large Pizza, different toppings on each halves, making sure there was something for both of them on there! “Only going to take a few minutes, they love us, do you realise that? They deliver extra quick for us!”
---
“Or a Rugby team - half Welsh, half Australian!” Taron laughed at the thought, but at the same time it warmed his heart, because he didn’t need much more than this in his life - Phoebe, their kids, their families and friends… anything else came second to them. He beamed with pride, when he mentioned her show, because he was so proud of her finding and doing projects she loved. She was a great actress in his eyes, and deserved to work with the best and brightest in the business. “Almost two years of marriage, and I still can’t compete with pizza,” he grumbled good-naturedly, patting his stomach, when he realised that he was hungry, too. “The only veggie that should be on a pizza is tomato!” His exclamation was punctuated by a loud laugh, which was only silenced by her kiss. “Keep the veggies on it, it’s like having salad and pizza at the same time. At least Dalton won’t have my head for it… it’s salad. In some way. Somehow.” As he listened to her order their food, he thought back to the first time he had realised that Phoebe was a vegetarian during their first dinner together, which turned out to be the best first non-date ever. Back then, he had wondered how one could live without meat, but having been with Phoebe for two and a half years now, and working with his trainer Dalton Wong for different films, he had quickly learned that it was possible, and also good for you. “Express delivery?” he asked, shaking his head to clear his thoughts, then grinned at her. “You’re a genius, love. I love this - and you.” It meant they still had a few minutes left till their food came, and he was torn between fetching them something to drink, and gathering Phoebe in his arms. The latter idea won, and he cupped both of her cheeks in his hands and pressed a kiss to her lips.
---
“50 years of marriage and I’ll still make you wait if it means I get Pizza first, some things simply never change!” Phoebe told her husband grinning brightly before she rolled her eyes at him good heartedly. “Salad, really? Have I taught you nothing about healthy food?” She asked, though she couldn't actually not laugh about it. It was an absolutely hilarious concept and in a way, even though she wouldn't actually admit it, he was kind of right. “I know, please say that more often and share the news - you are married to a genius! But hey, I love you too, loads and you know it!” When he kissed her she responded right away, moving closer to him, leaning into him, only breaking the kiss for a moment to add one tiny joke more. “I mean, I know I am great and I just ordered Pizza, but I hope that's not how you thank everybody who ever orders you Pizza!” She didn't really leave him much time to reply before her lips were back on his, happily savouring the moment and the fact that they were alone to do whatever they want, something that was such a rarity those days and although she loved having a full house, moments like this reminded her of the fact that they really needed to find more time for themselves. “I love you, so much, thank you for existing!”
---
“Okay, fine, it’s a deal. I can live with pizza being your first choice sometimes, Phoebe - as long as I’m it the rest of the time… I’ll happily share with our babies.” They had had that “argument” countless times before, and he loved to tease her about it, play the carnivore simpleton to make her laugh. “You have, my love, and I’m very thankful for it.” It was a fact that eve since he had adapted to her eating habits more, he had had less trouble to get fit for roles that demanded a certain look or built, and he was thankful for it, because he had hated torturing himself with diets so much that he had overeaten once he could. Now, he didn’t have to, and could enjoy a bit of everything. Joining in her laughter, he reached out to pinch her cheek lightly. “If you want me to, I’ll shout it from the rooftops,” he told her, still laughing, “but you’ll have to bail me out, once I get arrested for disturbing the peace in this town!” There were so many reasons to love her, and when he replied “I love you, too”, all of those reasons were mingled in these three words. Her kiss, the feel of her so close kept his mind only focused on her, and he needed a moment to catch up. “Perhaps it is,” he told her, tongue-in-cheek grin in place, “perhaps that’s why Ambrosio delivers so fast.” He lost himself in their kiss, lips moving against each other unhurriedly, full of love, and let himself just feel for a while. These moments had become far and few in between, but their time with Sadie and Julian was so incredible that he couldn’t bring himself to miss them too much - he didn’t mind catching up like this, however, stealing a moment with Phoebe here and there, when their family was around, because she was, and always would be, the first love of his life. Just as he was about to reply to her compliment, the doorbell rang, and he got up with a grumble, but returned a few moments later with a laugh. “You’ve made me blush so hard right now that the delivery boy asked me, if I had caught a sunburn!” Leaning down to kiss her, he placed the pizza box in her lap and went to the kitchen to get napkins and the beer he had promised her. “To our epic “no kids in sight” date!”
---
There were many reasons why Taron was a perfect husband and counting and listing them all would be far too long, so Phoebe was happy to just use the fact that he without even talking about it he was the one to get up and get the Pizza from the door, allowing her to keep put on the couch without moving much only to smile at him brightly as he handed her the Pizza as well as the beer. “Very epic night, yes!” Phoebe exclaimed happily before she grinned even brighter “You look cute when you blush - and when you have a sunburn although that is very unhealthy so I cant even say that, can I?” She asked when he finally sat back down, opening both beers and handing him one. “To us and tonight!!”  She told him, raising her bottle before she took a sip although she did put the bottle down almost right away to open the Pizza box, putting it between them so they could both eat and enjoy the Pizza, the first slice hers though. “Aside from going to Australia, anything else you’d like to do with your free time? I mean you have a little bit of time off now, so what are we going to get up to? I think we should try to find something special to enjoy this - who knows what big big project you’ll have coming up afterwards and we will have to adapt to it!” She loved to see Taron work, just as much as he supported her work, but that also meant she wanted to spend quality time with him and their little family whenever they didn’t work.
---
Phoebe’s chirpy nature shone through brightly today, and he couldn’t help but feel as happy as she sounded, especially when he brought the pizza back to the couch. “I burn easily, so… perhaps it’s all right to say it?” That being said, he blushed all the same at her compliment, and grinned defencelessly. “To us. Thank you for making this possible.” The beer was cold, when it hit his tongue, and a little bitter, but he enjoyed the taste. The pizza smelled deliciously, and he had to laugh at the mountain of vegetables on one side, and the cheesy other side, as he took a piece. “I might try some of yours later, that way I can claim I ate my greens today.” But right now, the cheese was too good to pass up on. “I do,” he agreed, “but apart from being home with you, and us having some family time with Sadie and Julian, I’m not quite sure what more I’d want.” Perhaps going home would be nice, but Aber, or even London, weren’t comfortable this time of year - while it was cold and snowy, where they lived here, it was grey and wet there. “We could perhaps go to LA for a bit, and visit some friends, show off our babies and generally just relax a little? Or we could take them and ourselves to the Caribbean and enjoy some time off?” In the end, he shrugged, and kept munching on his pizza slice. “I’m happy with doing small things around here, too. Once it snows - sledding, making snow angels, and the Christmas Markets?” There was a lot they could be doing, but he didn’t want her to think that only his work, and his time off, mattered in their family. It didn’t - he wanted her to have as many opportunities as she wanted, whenever she wanted. “And if you find a new project you want to work on… I’ll be your perfect house husband. I’ll even do the dishes!”
---
“Really, one year of marriage and I still haven’t taught you what eating your greens actually means?” Phoebe asked laughing although she knew exactly what he actually meant and honestly, the cheesy side of the pizza did look ridiculously good and if it wasn’t for her pride, she would have probably stolen a piece already. “You really want to make all my sunshine dreams come true, don’t you?” Phoebe had always loved LA, it was perhaps the closest thing to Australia in terms of weather in the states, but also, it was a place where she had spent quite a few years and many of her friends still lived. “I mean I do think showing off the twins and how perfect they are is almost our duty as loving parents, don’t you agree?” The brunette asked jokingly before her laughter turned into an honest, heartfelt smile. “See, this is how perfect you are. How do you do it? Always think of me first, my projects, my happiness? You know that this, our little family is all I ever wanted and even if that would mean no acting, I’d be happy really. But you make everything possible at once and I really don’t know how you can be so perfect….to even do the dishes, I mean, look at you. Perfect!”
——
Taron broke down with laughter. “One year and three months, and yes, you taught me well - I just choose to ignore it, at times.” His life had changed so much for the better due to her being in it, and she had shown him so many things he would have missed otherwise that already trying to imagine not having her in it was an impossible task. His eyes followed her gaze, and he grinned. “Take one,” he urged her gently, “I’ll steal one of yours, and we’ll be even.” The smile on his lips softened at her words, and he had to admit sheepishly that his first thought had been what she would like to do, and where he could take her that they would both love. “We need to brag about them being perfect little angels for as long as we can,” he chuckled, “which is why Jamie definitely wants to see us - he told me we could stay with him, if we wanted to.” Leaning in, he stole a kiss, smiling, as he could taste pizza on her lips. “It’s because I’m utterly, madly in love with you, and I love seeing you happy. Plus, you do all these things for me, too, without even taking credit - you come visit me, when I work, you take care of our babies, you support me with whatever foolish idea I come up with. If I can give back this way, I will. And please, do not stop working on our account, us three will be where you are, while you work, and vice versa.” Cupping her cheek with his free hand, he stroked her cheek gently. “We make it work, because it’s what makes us happy - having each other, working, having this incredible home we made, and our little family. And stop saying I’m perfect, because I might start crying any minute now.” As he leaned in, he couldn’t help it and bit into her piece of pizza she was still holding, before he pressed a kiss to her cheek. “If I’m perfect, what does that make you?”
---
“Why would you ever ignore you extremely smart wife? Honestly, what's that all about?” Phoebe asked him grinning before she blew him a kiss when he told her to just take a piece of his Pizza, obviously having seen her looking at it for a minute or two too long. “We really do, I mean who knows, soon they’ll be old enough to tell everyone that a) we aren't as cool as we pretend to be and b) they aren't as cute and adorable as we tell everyone. Imagine!” The brunette suggested laughing before she nodded. The idea to stay at Jamies sounded lovely, the fact that he even offered was so sweet and she couldn't actually refuse. “Are you sure he wouldn't mind all of us? I mean we are quite a bunch!” Even if she would love to stay there, she still wanted to make sure it actually was okay and not a burden for someone else. Kissing Taron back softly she leant back into the couch once he did, his words making her not only blush, but grin madly. “I know that you aren't making me stay home, but you need to understand that I love it, I really do. If there will ever be an offer that makes me happy and that I want to take I will - but you and the babies are my priorities and my favorite little job, even though it doesn't feel like work at all, not for my little family!” She had always wanted to be a mum and have a family, it had always been her dream, but she could have never expected it to be as fulfilling as it actually turned out to be. It was her entire happiness. “Not calling you perfect anymore, you just stole my pizza. Well your pizza. That I stole from you, but still!” Phoebe scolded him softly but she couldn't really stop laughing before she rolled her eyes softly. “I think we both aren't perfect, maybe just perfect for each other!”
---
“I’m not ignoring you, I’m ignoring the veggies and everything that has to do with them.” Taron made a show of catching her air kiss and putting it in his pocket, then patting on it, happy that she picked one of his pieces as well. She was a cheese fan as much as he was, and he was curious what she would say about his side of the pizza. “If I start imagining now, I’ll start worrying about it all - and I’d rather be here, in the present, with you. And hope for the best. Also, we’re totally cool, and they won’t ever be able to say otherwise!” Her words made him smile - Jamie, his co-star in Robin Hood, had been pestering him for months to come visit him in LA, and especially come live at their house, and this way, they would all get what they wanted. “He wouldn’t have offered, if he minded - and you just know he has a bloody big mansion in LA.” Seeing her so happy about his idea warmed and melted his heart, and he was looking forward to this trip already, a short, but sweet one for a bit of sun and fun with their friends and their twins. “I love you,” he repeated, once she had told him what she thought of his comment, “and I know and appreciate a lot that we’re your priority, you make me happy in ways I couldn’t even express more often than not - and I know that I’m the luckiest man alive to have you.” Early on, she had told him about her wish for a big family, and wanting the time and the space to enjoy it, too, and the longer he had known her, the more true these wishes rang. She was such a family person, even more so than him, and Sadie and Julian had made their lives even more perfect. “You are the most wonderful woman I know,” he told her gently, “I’ll support you with whichever you want to do - home projects and work projects alike.” It didn’t take him five seconds to burst into laughter, and a long time to calm down once more. “It was just hanging around, I had to,” he defended himself with a little shrug, as he finished his own piece and picked up one of hers, biting into it heartily. “I like that, perfect for each other is exactly what we are.” The rest of the pizza was gone quicker than he could have imagined, and once the box was empty, he leaned back into the cushions of the couch with a happy sigh. “This was a great idea,” Taron laughed and patted his stomach, then reached for her to pull her close, sighing once more, when he felt her warmth against his side.
---
“The Veggies and I aren't too pleased with you ignoring them, you know?” She asked him grinning before she added a joking “You are setting a terrible example for your children, think about that!” Obviously, he was about the best father there was, but she would always tease him about the food situation in the house. Deep down she did know though that she was extreme, not to the extent that Teresa was perhaps, but still rather extreme. “I am afraid, while we think we are super cool, the kids will probably disagree at some point, but for now, lets pretend we are the coolest parent ever!” Taron’s comment about Jamie’s mansion being big enough for them to stay there made her grin, Hollywood standard still had not caught up with the two of them, even after Taron’s massive success as well as Phoebes time on TV, so for her it was always amusing to see how other people were living, especially in Hollywood. “I love you too, a lot, you know that though, if not you’re an idiot!” She added softly before she smiled happily, his words were simply too sweet to not smile like the happiest woman alive, simply because she was. “And I love you even more for being so supportive, whatever we do and decide in the future, it will be the right decision, as long as we make the decisions together!” It was the beauty of their relationship, as long as the two of them were together she simply knew that they could tackle and deal with everything. When he laughed about her Pizza complaint she couldn’t help but laugh along. “Hey - just because its there you can take it? Is that the new rule?” She asked laughing, not really seriously mad, why would she be with more Pizza right in front of her, which was gone surprisingly quickly. “This was perfect, yes. Thank me for this brilliant idea!” Phoebe told him grinning before she moved over to lean against him, happily settling into his side. “Absolutely perfect. And so quiet!”
---
“All right, all right - for the children!” With those words he bit into the vegetable-laden piece of pizza, and made a show of liking it - he did actually like it, because the topping actually tasted amazing, but he wanted to make her laugh, too. “Until they can tell us we’re uncool, we’re the Schrödinger’s kind of cool parents! So we should bask in that for as long as we can. And show off, too!” Taron’s grin only widened, especially when he saw her grin. These moments had become far and few in between, between kids and work and real life, and to have time to joke around and tease each other felt great, more amazing than he could have imagined, actually. “Even if I’m an idiot, I don’t think I could forget that!” Her smile warmed his heart, and he knew that they were both at their happiest right now, with their family, with life and work - and she was right, if something that would impact on their family a lot would arise, they would decide the best course of action for them and for their family together. “I cannot wait to see your new show, and especially with Tez and your family!” If there was something he really loved, it was to sit down with their families and friends and watch a film or a tv series, and especially, if one of them was in it - the teasing and the laughter and the comments kept him from overthinking his performance and made him laugh along with them, and he hoped it was the same for Phoebe, too. “It was dangling right in front of my face, what would you have done in my place?” Taron started laughing at her thanking herself for the idea, and had to admit that it had been a great idea, not only the pizza, but getting their children out of the house for a little while. “Yes, thank you for everything,” he told her gently, and turned to look at her. “Any other brilliant ideas, wife of mine?” Throwing an arm around her, he pulled her closer.
---
“See, its good, isn’t it? Next we try it without the Pizza though and just the veggies, how does that sound?” Phoebe asked, already knowing the answer and honestly, she wouldn’t actually force him to eat whatever she was eating. She’d never force him to eat vegetarian, although she did love how he was trying it more and more. “Good, you forgetting that would be one of the biggest tragedies I could imagine to be honest!” She declared dramatically “I am sure it’s the kind of tragedy Shakespeare would come up with, so we don't need that, okay?” His enthusiasm about her new project was lovely, it truly warmed her heart how supportive he was, especially since none of her projects were especially large into comparison to his. “I really am just happy it’s an Australian project. It feels a little more special than another American Teen Production to be honest!” Without wanting to sound ungrateful, it was nice that she was at a spot in her life and career now that she could choose and they were financially stable enough for there to be able to pick and choose the things that she was passionate about opposed to choosing things that might make big money. “Fair enough, I probably would have taken a bite too, but don’t fight me with logic, I don’t like that!” She teased him once more before she cuddled even closer up to her husband. “Okay, I’ve already come up with the great ideas for today so far, I think now its your turn. I officially make this your responsibility now!”
---
Taron burst out laughing. “You drive a hard bargain, do you know that?” he commented with a shake of his head, but he understood what she was trying to do, and appreciated it deep down. “But okay, vegetables it is - for you.” She indulged him more than enough food-wise, especially when he was eating meat, so he could do this for her, too, and without missing out on anything, either. “Shakespeare didn’t have any kids, I don’t think he knew what it felt like to have your kids tell you you aren’t cool.” Again, he laughed at her comment, but then reached out and cupped her cheek lovingly. “It’s going to be all right, you know? They’ll love us anyway. And if they’re being cheeky, we can remind them that we wiped their butts for ages.” Both of her latest projects had been Australian productions, and Safe Harbour was about to win some awards - or so he hoped - it was that good. “You chose some pretty great projects, and anyone who loves you will want to watch them. And those who don’t know you yet - they’ll fall in love with you watching it.” They were in the lucky financial position to decide which projects to do and which to decline, and Phoebe truly had chosen projects that showed her wide range of acting talent, something Taron admired about her a lot. She had started acting long before it had even crossed his mind, and just by watching her work he learned new things, and not just about her. “Which is exactly why I’ll keep doing it, just to annoy you, love,” he replied cheekily and grinned, which widened, as she told him, he should come up with an idea now on how to spend their time off. “I offered sex before, but you declined, preferring pizza to anything else. I’m not sure my ego took it too well.” He laughed at himself, but then moved away from the cushions of the couch and straddled her legs. “But I like the thought...” Leaning in, he framed her face with his hands gently and pressed a sweet kiss to her lips.
---
“Of course it will be alright, by the time they tell us we aren’t cool we will have enough embarrassing evidence of the fact that they weren’t always cool either!” She confirmed quickly with a large grin on her face. Blackmailing their kids. Phoebe had clearly thought this through many times before. Her latest projects have been passion projects, actually her last three and the fact that they didn’t come with a Network like the CW had given her a great amount of freedom. And meant no annoying American accent that she probably would never actually perfect. “Well, you make it possible for me to choose whatever I want to choose and you have my back, I think thats truly what made the projects what they are!” It sounded cheesy, but it was true. They both were supporting each other a lot, no matter where filming took them which made it a lot easier to deal with the stress of living in a trailer or being away from home, simply because they never really done that, always finding a way to make it all work as a family. “I didn’t decline sex, I made Pizza the top priority!” She protested laughing and wound her arms around him once he had moved positions and her hands were framing her face. “See, now you had Pizza and you still get Sex, how good is this?”
---
Her logic made him laugh, but she was right about it - they took so many pictures and videos to send to their families that by the time their twins were old enough to whine, they would have all the means to seek revenge. “Have I told you that I love the way you think?” It wasn’t just her humour, but her being, all of her, that caught his attention time and time again, and he loved the fact that he could fall in love with her again every day, even with the smallest things she did. “You make the projects special - and you know how excited I get to see you on screen. Or see you work. Or help you with your lines.” There was something special about them being in the same profession and that made him even more appreciative about their life together - being able to enjoy each other’s work, supporting and perhaps even making someone take on projects was amazing and amusing to him. “You wanted pizza more than sex,” he mock complained, “I’m not so sure it’s going to happen now...” Her hands on his body had this incredible effect on him where he felt instantly warm, and like he could do anything he set his mind to, and he relished in the sensation for a while. “I do?” he asked and grinned at her. “Are you trying to seduce me now?” While having an empty house was the perfect opportunity to go a little while, Taron would happily go along with whatever she felt like doing. It didn’t stop him from teasing her, though, dropping his hands ot her waist and dipping them under her pullover, fingers skimming along her curves. It would take him a long while to get from teasing to actually seducing her, because they were having too much fun playing and laughing with each other, and it would only be much later, when they were lying wrapped up in each other, spent and sated, their warm bodies pressed together, that Taron spoke up again. “We definitely need more pizza dates like these, love.”

Hello! Remember me? I used to write a weekly blog roundabout these parts. I’m sorry; I needed to take a bit of a break from blog-land (apologies other bloggers too, I haven’t even been reading other people’s). I think I just got tired of the sound of my own voice (which, as longtime readers, is a sentiment that you will completely understand). If I’m entirely honest, I struggled to make a start on this post you’re reading now. But a chance remark from my daughter about how my mother-in-law’s sister (convoluted family tie enough for you?) about how she missed my Saturday morning blog spurred me into action. So, thank you, Biddy (you’re going to feature heavily in my next blog, I hope you don’t mind).
Windswept on the Wild Atlantic Way
Don’t worry, there is a point to this blog (I find it hard enough to write with a point, let alone without one). I’ve just returned from a ten-day trip to Ireland, actually. It was just the break I needed – not that it was a restful holiday or anything – we’ve been driving around and visiting relatives like mad things. My husband is half-Irish, and his father’s side of the family are situated around the County Kerry area of Southern Ireland. I’m quarter-Irish myself; on my paternal grandmother’s side, but I’m ashamed to say we have no connections with that part of the family; I honestly wouldn’t recognise them if I tripped over them in the street. Anyway, my father-in-law was also back in Ireland after a recent illness, so we decided to take our annual August holiday there. And it really was a chance for my husband to relive his childhood, as he spent two weeks of his school summer holidays there annually as a kid. I’m afraid to say we weren’t met by fantastic weather (it’s at least four or five degrees lower even than the UK), but that didn’t spoil our fun.
Torc Waterfall
I do love Ireland. The scenery is just enough at variance from England to know you’re somewhere entirely different. I love the space. I love the solitary little houses set apart on their own. The landscape is simply greener than England (probably due the excessive rain, and we get enough), and more undulating. On arrival in Kerry, the town of Tralee was all in a frenzy over the hurling final which was taking place about the time me were picking up our hire car (the staff at Europcar car rental had little interest in handing us over our keys in the excitement of listening to the match on the radio). For the uninitiated, hurling is a bit like hockey with a weird-shaped stick – but bears WAAAAAY more importance over there than hockey does in our country. Anyway, Limerick (who hadn’t won the final for over 40 years) beat Galway by a tiny margin. So flags were flying from houses and cars in every street. Perhaps even more importantly, at the same time, The Pope was making his first visit to Ireland since the 70s – and the country was all in a flutter about that too (you could even buy ‘Pope’ flags and t-shirts in supermarkets. You don’t get that in Tesco’s or Sainsbury’s). I can only wish I’d bought one. Oh, and then there was the ‘Rose of Tralee’ going on all week. It’s a bit like a beauty pageant or a ‘Miss World’ competition that has been running since the 50s, but covering all the counties of Ireland – and parts of UK, USA, and Australia too (for some reason). However, it professes not to be beauty contest – but let’s just say being attractive helps. Like my husband says, ‘you couldn’t be a right munter, could you?’ (I don’t know what that means either). We even went out at midnight to see the contestants on a parade in the streets just before the announcement of the winner (I would post a picture of her, but she didn’t look my way – so, y’know, her loss). And this was all followed by ‘midnight madness’ – which was actually just fireworks and unforgivable music played by a DJ, like ‘Cotton-Eye Joe’.
My husband’s aunt and uncle (Eileen and Jim) had kindly offered to put us up for the duration of our trip. I admit I was a tad anxious about it as I had only met them once or twice – and probably not for over a decade. But my worries were instantly alleviated as Jim and Eileen were just so friendly and accommodating. I just hope we were good house-guests (we only broke two of their showers, so I think we’ll be invited again). In fact, my husband’s Irish family (aunts, uncles, cousins etc.) were all so gracious. We were invited over for dinner by three separate families. You couldn’t hope to meet more genuinely approachable and affable people. And my children were so pleased to acquaint themselves with new family members they didn’t know or didn’t remember.
  A proper Charlie
Like I say, we sure did some mileage during the trip. I really feel that we covered every inch of the county of Kerry. The coastline is simply beautiful (in recent years, it was christened The Wild Atlantic Way – very apt; never have I been so windswept). One day we ventured off on an hour-and-forty minute drive to Waterville to take part in a world record attempt – the largest number of Charlie Chaplins in one place. Chaplin used to come to Waterville every year for his holidays and his family still have strong links with the area. My youngest child dressed up as Charlie (it was the only outfit size we could find on eBay and we had to carry the bugger – bowler hat and all – in our already over-burgeoning suitcase). The current world record was set in Canada, and boasted well over six hundred Charlies. Unfortunately, Waterville was at least 400 Charlies short! But the weather was terrible and Waterville really is a bit off the beaten track. Ahh well, we made the local newspapers. My husband is particularly pleased as he is pictured proudly beside his drone.
Gareth, Ibby, and Drone
Don’t get me started about that bloody drone. My husband has always been a keen photographer (the superb title photo is his) and, more recently, a videographer. But the drone is a new member of his arsenal. And yet another reason for him to stop the car, fish out and calibrate the drone, and fly the b*stard thing for fifteen minutes over something that has caught his eye – until the battery runs out (thank goodness). I shouldn’t grumble, really. The drone really does produce some wonderful footage. And he’s only crashed it twice – causing damage that has cost merely hundreds of pounds to put right. So, that’s something. He’s also making an ‘Ireland Video’ as we speak – so I’ll only see the back of his head whilst she’s at the computer editing for the next week or two…
I’m so cold.
But all too soon that ten-day break came to an end; back to reality. I can’t say I feel in the least bit rested as we were busier than ever. But it was a break from the norm and that was much needed. I trust we won’t leave it so long before we visit Ireland again. It’s great to frequent a place that you have real connections with. And I’ve made new friends – family, really – that I wouldn’t have made on any normal trip. It’s just a shame they now feel so far away. But it’s just a short plane-ride away. Even if you do have to trek nearly three hours to sh*tty (and horribly organised) Stanstead airport to get there. Still, it was worth it.
PS: To all my husband’s lovely Irish family (even though I don’t think any of you know of the existence of this blog), thank you again for your kindness; you are more than welcome to visit us in the UK. Our home is yours.
PPS: The Irish are universally worried about Brexit and think it was a huge mistake. I can’t argue with that…
PPPS: I would even consider moving to Ireland but for the fact that you have to remove your own hubcaps and hoover your boot before your M.O.T. (yearly vehicle inspection) – that’s just a deal-breaker.
Top of the Morning Hello! Remember me? I used to write a weekly blog roundabout these parts. I’m sorry; I needed to take a bit of a break from blog-land (apologies other bloggers too, I haven't even been reading other people's).

The Kensington House
Pure fluff and kid!fic besides, this is the 26th part of my Time of the Season series, and written for the Where prompt in the BDT of prompts I’ve been working on - 98 down and 2 to go!
There was something amiss. Sherlock knew it as soon as he laid eyes on his wife, on returning to 221B earlier than his text that afternoon had originally estimated. Molly was very happy to see him, but there was something around her eyes, and in her smile, and in her embrace when she rose from the dinner table and came round to greet him. The baby must have been put to bed already, but the three older children were their usual selves, each of them vying for attention and yammering on when Sherlock was frowning with narrowed eyes, striving for wordless communication with their mother.
But then Jon popped up with, “Oh, and Lady Smallwood came to visit today, she walked in just when we’d started playing pirates!”
And Will laughed. “Yes, we were bashing about with our swords, even Daisy. And Lexie was helping Mum with the laundry, so the place was a complete tip! I think Lady Smallwood was pretty shocked, she didn’t stay for tea or anything--”
“But Daddy!” Daisy broke in, tugging with some violence on the sleeve of his Belstaff. “She asked us to dinner tomorrow -- all of us, not just you and Mummy. At her beautiful house! May we go, pleeeease?”
Sherlock pried Daisy’s little hand from his coat and gave it a squeeze, though he raised a brow at Molly’s expression. “Is that what it is?”
He saw that she was tempted to brush it off, but then she gave a rueful chuckle. “Well, yes, a bit. Not that I blame the children! If it hadn’t been pouring buckets all day, we could have gone out somewhere, a museum and the park perhaps. But with Lexie barely on the mend from that virus...”
“Yes, the weather was far too cold,” Sherlock agreed. “It’s ridiculous for the beginning of May, and particularly inconvenient on a day when these tiresome brats are out of school and must be kept occupied lest they tear the place apart.” The tiresome brats merely laughed at this, and hugged him, and he couldn’t help smirking. But he said to Molly, “Not the best way to spend your day off. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to stay and help. ”
“Greg needed you,” Molly shrugged. “And we managed -- though I believe Will was right about Alicia being shocked. Mrs. Hudson let her in and we didn’t hear her coming up the stairs, so there was no time to put things to rights. But we can discuss this later, if you like. I believe your greedy sons have left you at least a few scraps of dinner! Come sit down.”
But Daisy, dissatisfied at this put-off, said, “But Mummy, Daddy, can we go tomorrow? If we promise to be good?”
The thought of his children on the loose in Alicia Smallwood’s elegant Kensington mansion was enough to strike dismay into the heart of a stronger man than Sherlock Holmes, promises or no. But Molly reiterated in her “Mummy’s Serious” tone, “Your father and I will discuss it later!” and Daisy sighed, dramatically sulky as only a four year old -- his four year old -- could be, but ultimately accepting the delay without further complaint.
 *
Alicia might be known as Lady Smallwood, Associate of the British Government, but she was also very much a woman and a mother, and was not at all impervious to the sight of three of the four Holmes urchins, all dressed to the nines and fairly dancing with anticipation of a high treat as they made their way into the gate and up the front walk, their wary but resigned parents in tow.
“No running! And remember: your best manners,” Molly was heard to say, probably for the tenth time.
Alicia chuckled as Mycroft came up beside her at the door and took her hand in his.
“Let’s hope you’re still amused two hours from now,” he murmured.
“Oh, hush,” she said, giving him a severe look. “You know you love them to pieces.”
Mycroft gave a sigh of resignation. “I do, but I prefer them in small doses, rather than en masse.”
Alicia chuckled at that. “They’ll be fine.” She turned back to greet Daisy as the little girl cast off restraint and flitted ahead, up the walkway.
“Look at my new dress, Aunt Alicia!” she exclaimed, as she bounced up the few marble steps to the wide porch. She stopped to smooth the skirt of the pink satin confection she was wearing. “Isn’t it lovely?”
“My dear, you look ravishing,” Alicia assured her, bending down to kiss her cheek.
Daisy sweetly returned the favor, and then said, brightly, “Hello, Uncle Mycroft! We’re here!”
“So I see,” said Mycroft, the laughter in his voice almost entirely free of disapprobation.
“Look, lads!” said Sherlock, too brightly, as the rest of the family approached in Daisy’s wake. “Uncle Mycroft is here, too! Now we’re guaranteed a fine selection of cake!”
Alicia narrowed her eyes at Mycroft’s brother but refrained from comment as Molly had the matter in hand with raised brows and a useful jab with her elbow.
Unfortunately, he only simpered at Molly before turning his teasing gaze on his brother again. “Things must be slow at the office with both of you able to be here,” he remarked.
“An accurate observation,” said Mycroft, “and a fact for which we must all be thankful. Boys! You look very smart -- and uncomfortable. I thought school was out several hours ago.”
“We had our music lessons just before we came,” Jon said, wrinkling his nose. “Madame insists we dress like gentlemen.”
“Ah, so I recall now, and very proper, too,” said Mycroft with approval, “though if your parents permit you might at least remove your ties -- God knows your father hasn’t worn one in years. Molly, my dear, you look as ravishing as your daughter.”
Molly, who wore a lacy white cardigan over a light blue sheath that prettily accentuated her still-slender figure, said warmly, “It’s good to see you, Mycroft.”
“And you,” said Mycroft, with real sincerely, smiling down at his sister-in-law.
“Alicia,” said Sherlock. “You’re looking well.”
Alicia raised a brow. “Thank you,” she said, then silently mouthed one word at him: Behave!
He made no verbal reply, just assumed a comically wounded expression and placed his hand over his heart.
Alicia rolled her eyes and and turned back to the little boys. “I see that you’ve brought along your violin, Jon, and we’ve just had the piano in the drawing room re-tuned. Will you two favor us with your latest pieces?”
“Yes!” said Jon with alacrity, and Will smiled, too, his eyes lighting at the prospect of sitting down behind Alicia’s beautiful baby grand. “But can we play in the back garden after?”
Alicia laughed, remembering the astoundingly grubby but eminently satisfied look of the three the last time they’d been allowed the run of the back garden. The lawn and shrubbery were quite extensive for a home situated in the middle of London -- which was, of course, one reason for tonight’s invitation. Alicia said, “If your parents permit, yes, but you should probably wait until after we’ve had dinner. Now come in, all of you, and let’s have some music!”
 *
The children had been on their best behavior, both prior to dinner and throughout the rather formal meal, sufficiently awestruck by their surroundings to be quieter and more careful than usual, and actually put into use the manners they’d been taught. Now they had been released to play in the back garden while the light lasted, much to Molly’s relief. The house was not at all “childproof”, for Alicia’s three children were grown and had been gone a dozen years or more. None of the three had elected to settle in the noisy bustle and excitement of London and now rarely even visited the metropolis. Alicia’s eldest, the current Lord Smallwood, had settled at the country estate with his wife and son, shortly after the death of his father; her younger son had emigrated to Australia in his early twenties and was still gainfully employed in the music industry when he wasn’t indulging in some extreme sport or other, to which his mother was forced to turn a blind eye or go mad with worry; and the daughter of the family had married a Scots physician and was settled in a picturesque little town outside Edinburgh, busily raising a pair of ginger-haired twin girls and apparently more than content with rural life.
“It’s a shame your children don’t care for the city,” Molly commiserated, as Alicia stepped up beside her, near the window where she had been surreptitiously keeping an eye on her brood. “You must miss them.”
Alicia gave a little shrug, though she was smiling as she looked out at the children in the garden. “Oh, I don’t know. It gives one a good reason to indulge in frequent holidays. Mycroft and I were in Scotland just last weekend, for example -- Allison and Amabel are growing up so quickly! And I believe it won’t be long before they and their cousins -- my oldest boy’s children -- will be able to come visit us in London, whether their parents accompany them or not.”
Molly smiled. “That will be an event.”
“To be sure. They’re already anxious to meet their little Holmes cousins.” But then Alicia chuckled. “Heavens, I can just see -- and hear -- Mycroft.”
Molly gave a small snort of laughter. “We’ll have to get him a bottle of his favorite wine for the occasion. Or even brandy! But he’s been very welcoming to our little savages this evening. I was a bit surprised you dared to invite us, after that display at Baker Street yesterday. Not our finest moment.”
“Don’t be absurd,” said Alicia. “Entirely understandable under the circumstances! And there’s not a mean-spirited bone among the lot of them. Really, Molly, you’ve done an amazing job with them.”
“Well, thank you, but Sherlock has a great deal to do with it, too, you know. He’s a wonderful father.”
“Marriage and fatherhood seem to have been the making of him, certainly,” Alicia agreed. “Gave him something to think about other than his beautiful, brilliant self, which was exactly what he needed. Still, who would have guessed, nine years ago?”
“Well… I did,” Molly said with a smile.
“So you did.” Alicia turned to Molly and considered her thoughtfully for a few moments, and finally Molly raised an inquiring brow. Alicia said, as if in reply. “Speaking of yesterday… not that that has anything to do with it, really, it merely reminded me why… well… I assure you I’ve had it in mind for months...”
Amused at this uncharacteristic rambling, Molly asked,. “Alicia, are you quite alright? What did you have in mind?”
Alicia took a deep breath through her nose, steadying herself, then glanced around before meeting Molly’s eyes again. “Do you like this house?”
Molly laughed. “Well, of course. How could one not?”
“Yes. Well. I like it, too. But it wants… a family. It was made for a family, all those years ago, and of course it was a splendid home for mine when the children were growing up, but… they’ve been gone a long time, now. And my husband… well. In any case, I was wondering… would you and Sherlock like to have it?”
Molly stared, gave a choking exclamation of “What? Alicia, you--”
“Rent free, of course,” Alicia interrupted, as though Molly hadn’t spoken. “Though there is still the upkeep -- I use a service now, and they are most efficient, if a trifle costly, though with the children you might want to hire some staff -- not necessarily live-in, though there is certainly room, there are quarters for at least two or three persons off the kitchen. And there are the taxes. But I’m given to understand the two of you could well afford those things and still keep Baker Street as an office for Sherlock, and as a second… ah… bolthole? Guest house? In any case, I don’t suppose you’d care to give it up. You have done such a lovely job renovating it since you and Sherlock married and the children began to arrive.”
“Alicia! You cannot be serious!”
“I am, though.” A little smile tugged at Alicia’s lips. “I have finally acquiesced to Mycroft’s wishes and consented to move into his house. There is some refurbishment already being done there in preparation.”
“Oh!” Molly smiled. “That’s wonderful! Are you… that is--”
“I have not yet agreed to marry him. We are still in negotiations on that point.”
Molly laughed. “Oh, Alicia, you are… the completest thing. To keep The British Government on a lead for all these years…”
Alicia chuckled, and looked quite smug. But she said, “So. Will you discuss it with Sherlock? Since little Alexandra came along it is all too apparent to those who love you that 221B Baker Street will soon be filled to bursting. Here there are enough bedrooms for each of your children to have his or her own with plenty left over for guests, a playroom, an office. I won’t be taking much of the furniture, just a few favorite pieces, and you can keep what you like, and replace the rest at your leisure. Daisy, and even the boys might like to pick out new furnishings for their bedrooms, for example. They still share a room at 221B, I believe?”
“Yes,” said Molly, feeling quite dazed. “John’s old bedroom, though they’re getting so big… and we’ve been in a quandary about Lexie, now that she is getting older. She can’t stay in our room much longer.”
“And here she won’t have to!” Alicia said cheerily. “There is a lovely little bedroom that would be perfect for her, just across from the master suite.”
“The master suite!” Molly repeated, even more dazed. Not that she and Sherlock had not been blissfully happy in his bedroom… well, their bedroom, for almost a decade now. But still…
“Would you like to come upstairs and take a look around? And I believe Mycroft has been presenting the proposal to Sherlock while we’ve been talking, and I haven’t heard any explosions. I take it as a good sign, don’t you?”
“Oh, Heavens. I don’t know what to say, Alicia. Why… why?”
“I don’t want to sell -- the property just gets more and more valuable. But I don’t want it to sit vacant, either. And lease it to strangers? I… I just don’t think I could do it. Think of it this way: you and Sherlock will be doing me a great favor.” Alicia laughed again at Molly’s apparently obvious bewilderment. “Come! Pull yourself together. The children will be fine out in the garden for half an hour. Let’s go see what Sherlock thinks, and the two of you can take a look at the rooms upstairs -- go all over the house, in fact, so you can make an informed decision.”
 *
It was after midnight and he and Molly were in bed, but not sleeping. Far from it. They were both lying on their backs, staring at the deeply shadowed ceiling. Holding hands. Still both astounded at the way their world was being overturned.
Sherlock thought one minute that he couldn’t do it, then the next he remembered that he would not be leaving 221B, precisely -- he would still spend a great deal of time there. And Baker Street was just as close to the boys’ school as the Kensington house. He could imagine his sons racing over when class let out, if he were not out on some case; doing their homework or playing until he should be ready to journey home.
Home.
They could still practice their music here, after school -- Mrs. Hudson would grieve for it, else.
Ah, Hudders. What would she say to all this? She was getting on in years, of course. Didn’t make the journey up the stairs with tea and scones nearly as often lately. Visited her sister in Devon more, though that lady’s health was failing rapidly, from what he gathered. That would be a blow and no mistake.  And it might not be long before she herself… well. Time was a cruel master to all, even their timeless landlady (Not your housekeeper! -- he grinned briefly in the black night).
There’d be room at the Kensington house for her, too, if it came to that.
Ten bedrooms. Lord. Not quite as bad as Musgrave, but along those lines.
They would have to acquire a housekeeper.
And a second violin for Jon to keep at 221B. The spinet could stay, since Mycroft had a fine instrument of his own and Alicia had told them she was content to leave her baby grand with the House. William would like that -- and Molly. And the girls, eventually. Daisy was nearly old enough to begin lessons already.
But… it still hurt to think of leaving. After all the work they’d put into 221B (and C) to create a suitable environment for their growing family. Of course, they had not realized just how much their family would grow when they’d begun the renovations.
Four children. Who would have thought it, a decade back? And yet here they were with a houseful -- and nothing yet done to prohibit a potential fifth. They’d have to think seriously about that, or risk another surprise. Alexandra had been a delightful one, to be sure, but five children? It seemed excessive, to put it mildly.
Though his parents wouldn’t mind. They reveled in their role, Mummy dismissing the bother with a wave of her hand, and merely hiring some neighbors’ daughters, lively teenaged girls, to help out when Will, Jon, and Daisy were to stay more than a night or two. And Lexie, soon enough.
And he gave a slight snort of laughter at the thought of denying his own happiness.
“What?” Molly whispered, turning her head on the pillow to peer at him, squeezing his hand.
He squeezed back. “I am… counting my blessings, I suppose.”
She let go of his hand and turned onto her side to face him, fingers rather shyly smoothing the soft material of the ancient T-shirt he wore. She said, “Do you think the Kensington house would enhance them?”
“I think it might. I think we’d be fools not to accept. Our children are not going to stop growing.”
She chuckled. “No! Though sometimes I wish…”
“What? That time would stop?” He moved to face her and put his hand on her waist.
“Yes,” she said, and, closing the final gap, kissed him.
He smiled beneath the kiss, bittersweet.
He’d always known there were two sides of the coin called love, which was why he’d shied away from it for so many years, and even this issue, the inexorable march of time, was an ever-present weight. Pain was always part of the joy -- and perhaps made the joy all the sweeter.
Doors closing.
And others opening, down the way.
“I’m a lucky man,” he whispered, when he could.
“You are,” she whispered back. “And a brave one, too.”
But he laughed softly at that, knowing that it was only she who allowed him to be so. Physical courage had never been an issue, and he had never lacked confidence in his intellectual abilities. But love… the one thing that truly mattered… that had required assistance.
The loyalty and perception and faith of one Molly Hooper had been necessary to complete him.
He reached up and brushed the auburn hair back behind the perfect pale pink shell of her ear, seeing the colors in his mind’s eye, even in the shadows.
How long had it been since they’d made love in the clear light of morning, or through a long, golden afternoon?
And yet, the darkness enhanced one’s other senses.
Touch.
Smell.
Taste.
“I love you,” he replied, still whispering.
“I know,” she whispered back.
And, sensing his need, she gave herself to him once again, in that well-practiced way she had… skill… infinite tenderness… an old comfort…
Yet somehow, she could still surprise him… somehow it was always, always new.
 *
Mycroft was stuck in his office, but Alicia was able to escape for a few hours on the evening of the Big Move, accepting the invitation to join his brother’s family, John and Rosie Watson, and Greg Lestrade for a celebratory dinner of Thai take-away, and to see the changes that had been wrought at the Kensington house.
Alicia had moved out nearly two months before to facilitate matters, and was happier living with Mycroft than she had imagined possible -- and he seemed content, too. He had twice reiterated his proposal that they should marry, and she had almost accepted the last time. Perhaps it would not needlessly complicate their lives. Perhaps she was making too much of a fuss over it. She knew many women who were on their third or even fourth marriage -- and most of them were divorcees, a situation far more difficult than her own. Being a widow, with her children grown and getting on with their lives, really did simplify matters.
She was still mulling over this subject as she arrived at her former residence, and did not move on until she’d exited the car and had entered the front gate. Walking up to the door, however, she noticed how neat the small front garden looked, with three new rose bushes, a new bed of pansies beside the porch, and the bits of lawn very well-tended. The front door had been repainted, too, a shiny black, and it now sported a knocker very similar to the one on the door of 221B Baker Street.
She used the knocker in the manner for which it was intended, and it wasn’t more than twenty seconds before the door was thrown open by Jon, with Daisy just behind.
“Aunt Alicia!” said Jon -- or half-shouted, really. “Wait till you see my bed! It’s even better than it looked in the shop!”
“She has to see my room first!” cried Daisy in the tone of a four year old who’d gone without her nap and reached the limit of her patience with her older brother. She gripped Jon’s jumper with both hands and tried to pull him out of her way with some violence.
But Sherlock had apparently heard Alicia’s knock, too and was coming up just behind the children. Seeing what was toward, he snapped, “Enough!” in so sharp a tone that Alicia gave a little start herself, and the children turned to him wide-eyed.
Jon was carefully silent. Daisy, however, began to whinge, “But Daddy! Jon--”
“But Daisy,” Sherlock interrupted, bending down to look her in the eye. “You’ve been skating on thin ice for the last hour and if you utter one more word you’ll find yourself staring at the most boring corner I can find in this house. Alone. Until I say you can move, not your mother or Uncle John. Do you understand?”
Alicia tensed, fearful that the little girl would be rash enough to put her father to the test. But, thankfully, she did not. Daisy merely lowered her gaze, lip quivering.
Sherlock straightened to face Alicia, “Welcome to the madhouse.”
Alicia replied, sympathetically, “Long day?”
“My God, you’ve no idea. Come into the dining room,” he said, leading the way. “The kitchen’s set up, and the bedrooms -- and they do look like something out of Parenting Magazine. But the tour can wait. We were just setting out dinner.”
“I’m not hungry,” came a tiny, discontented voice from behind them.
“Shut it!” came Jon’s hiss, just as Alicia glanced over her shoulder. Jon was giving Daisy’s arm a surreptitious squeeze in warning, even as he favored Alicia with an innocent smile.
Sherlock wisely feigned deafness and led the way into the dining room.
 *
Less than an hour later, John and Rosie had departed, Sherlock was discussing a case with Greg over some brandy, and Molly led the way up the staircase, carrying little Alexandra, Will and Jon racing ahead, and Alicia Smallwood bringing up the rear, hand in hand with a now smiling Daisy.
Daisy’s smiles were in strong contrast to the pout she’d maintained throughout dinner, much to her father’s annoyance. Molly, tired as she was, had been rather amused, however, and had quietly reminded Sherlock that his daughter came by her pout honestly, and the avowed lack of hunger, too. John and Greg would have picked up on this, both friends hinting at numerous recollections of a certain consulting detective who’d been renowned for his petulance in the past, but they’d cut the teasing short, not because of Sherlock’s glare, but in consideration of the fact that Will, Jon, and Rosie had been all ears.
But it wasn’t hard to understand why Daisy and her brothers were anxious to show off their new bedrooms. Lady Smallwood had accompanied them when they’d all gone furniture shopping a few weeks ago, and now at last she would see the results.
Alicia had convinced Daisy that they should “save the best for last”, so Will’s room was shown first. He’d opted to keep the simple and elegant cherry furniture already in the room, only enhancing the collection with a new roll top desk to match. There were several movie posters on the walls, Star Wars, Avengers, and the like, and the framed print of the periodic table that had hung in Sherlock’s room for so many years held pride of place above his new desk. All the bedrooms had walk-in wardrobes and Will’s now held stacks of board games and neatly organized bins of Legos, action figures, and other small toys. Molly said to Alicia, “Admire it now -- it’s not likely to look this tidy for long!”, but Will, who was now ten and feeling very grown up as the eldest, said, “It will if I can keep the brats from destroying it!”
Jon retorted, “Who needs your old stuff? Come on and see mine, Aunt Alicia!”
Jon, too, had chosen a desk for homework and art projects, but had also fallen in love with a sturdy bed frame designed to look like a race car. Much to his delighted surprise, his mother had approved the purchase, though his father had been less pleased with the idea when he’d been informed. However, when the bed had arrived and Sherlock had seen its beauty and quality, he had become much more enthusiastic. He and Jon had run with the theme, and the walls were now adorned with a number of pictures and posters of race cars, and Sherlock had installed shelves for Jon’s collection of model cars. His beloved trains were relegated to the wardrobe, but Alicia noted that his old Thomas the Tank cuddle pillow was waiting for him on the new bed.
Daisy’s room was last, and certainly by far the best, at least in Daisy’s opinion. The entire room had been redone in pink: pink furniture with lovely hand-painted flowers; fuzzy pink throw rugs; gauzy pink drapes on the window and canopied four-poster bed; and tiny pink rosebuds were patterned over the newly installed wallpaper. It might have been overwhelming, but Molly had insisted on using paler shades of pink along with a judicious use of white, and the result was really quite soothing.
“Goodness!” exclaimed Alicia, taking it in. “It looks rather as though it dropped from Heaven!”
Molly chuckled. “Now all it needs is an angel to take care of it!”
“That’s me!” Daisy piped up.
“Hmmm,” said Molly doubtfully. “I don’t know… there was that little display at the dinner table. An angel would not have behaved so -- or at least she would have apologized to her father for giving into her weariness, even after a long day of moving house.”
Daisy looked between Molly and Lady Smallwood uncertainly as she worked this out, but then, coming to a decision, exclaimed, “I’ll be right back!” She ran from the room and could presently be heard yelling, “Daddy! Daddy!” as she pounded down the stairs.
 *
At four in the morning, Sherlock was lying abed, caught up in a comfortable and eminently satisfied tangle with the wife of his bosom, the two of them having inaugurated the Kensington house in the best way imaginable, after recruiting their strength with a few hours’ sleep.
“Now it’s on its way to being home,” Sherlock murmured into Molly’s ear.
And she laughed, and turned her face to his, and kissed him. “I love you,” she said.
“I know,” he returned with a smile.
There were a great many more kisses, and some happy sighs, and cuddling: plenty of the most delightful clichés. But presently Molly extricated herself with a whispered, “Have to use the loo!” and Sherlock lay back contentedly against the pillows, stared at the shadowed ceiling, and thought once again what a lucky man he was.
He must have started drowsing again, for suddenly Molly was there, whispering his name again. “Hmm?” he said, opening his eyes. The light was dim, but he could see she’d put on her dressing gown.
“Get up for a minute!” she said softly. “You have to see the children!”
He frowned, but did as she asked, throwing on his own dressing gown and padding after her over the thick carpet, following her out the door.
“Are they alright?” he asked. “Lexie’s still asleep, isn’t she?”
“Yes. It’s the others. Come see.”
She didn’t pause at Daisy’s half open door, nor at Jon’s, but went straight over to Will’s room and motioned for him to peek in -- and there they were, all three of them curled up together in Will’s big bed, Daisy in the middle, and all of them sound asleep.
Sherlock turned to Molly and made a silent pantomime of outrage. “Tell me again why we needed to move here? We might just as well be back at Baker Street!”
But Molly shook her head, grinning. “They’ll get used to it. But now it’s really home for them, too. Don’t you see?”
There was nothing for it. He had to take her in his arms and kiss her again. “I love you, Mrs. Holmes,” he said finally.
“I love you, too,” she returned, a trifle breathless.
The proper exchange.
He took her hand up, said, “Come, then,” and, in the lovely silence before dawn, he led her back to bed.

HOW A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT CAN HELP YOUR SMALL BUSINESS
Tumblr media
Entrepreneurs start their ventures with bold visions and big plans. However, it’s all too easy to get bogged down by the mundane tasks involved in building a business empire. No matter the industry, every company has these critical tasks that can’t be ignored, and ultimately keep entrepreneurs from the work they do best. This is where a virtual assistant can come to the rescue. What is a Virtual Assistant? Think of a virtual assistant as an individual who cleans up your crucial administrative tasks from a remote location. They can (and often do) handle everything from answering emails, to database entry, website administration, and even social media. Most are contract or freelance workers who work from home, allowing for complete flexibility in how much or how little of your work you choose to delegate. Debbie Roche, a Vancouver-based virtual assistant explains exactly what people in her field do: “I help other small business owners with the day-to-day running of their business. These people set out to own their own company not realizing there are all these daily tasks that need to be attended to,” Debbie explained. “Maybe they don’t have a head for admin, or maybe they just don’t have the time. Either way, I take these tasks off their hands so they can focus on running their business more efficiently.” The Benefits of Using a Virtual Assistant Questioning whether a virtual assistance sounds like a fit for your small business? Here are five of the biggest benefits to using their services. More Time to Do What You Love Running a business can seem like an endless parade of pesky emails, phone calls, meetings and appointments. These can quickly begin eating into your free time, leaving you with less time to handle the important stuff. Brittany Hardy, owner of Empty Desk Solutions elaborates: “Sometimes we know our plate is completely full, yet we cannot wrap our heads around managing an in-house team member. Virtual assistants are the perfect solution to many of the day to day business tasks that would otherwise require a part-time or full-time employee.” Rely on an Expert As the virtual assistant industry grows, so too does the breadth of skills available to call upon. VA’s often have years of experience under their belts in areas such as marketing, copy writing, social media, human resources and even bookkeeping. Claire Costa, a Vancouver-based Virtual Assistant explains the benefits: “For small business owners, taking care of certain aspects of your business can mean making mistakes, simply because it’s not your area of expertise. These mistakes can lead to so much extra work, so hiring a virtual assistant is as much an investment in your business, as it is your own free time.” Less Hassle As your business grows, you’ll likely need help. Unfortunately, you may not be ready to hire a full-time administrative employee. Establish how much you can afford to pay to get important admin tasks done, then find a virtual assistant to work within those boundaries. You don’t have to worry about the tax implications, benefits, or get locked into long-term contract agreements. “Your virtual assistant will only charge for work done,” Claire explains. “You don’t need to worry about tracking hours, covering source deductions, and all the other challenges a full-time member of staff brings. It’s the perfect middle ground for a small business owner.” A Personal Business Relationship “People are literally putting their business in my hands, and that’s a huge responsibility.” – Debbie Roche. It’s natural at the beginning for a virtual assistant to concentrate on simple tasks like data entry, email management, or making travel arrangements, but as the relationship grows, you’ll learn to rely on them more and more. With time and trust, you can ask your virtual assistant to take on more aspects of your professional life, becoming your own administrative rock start, and leaving you more time for… Strategic Thinking Through the growing pains of a small business, you’ve probably become accustomed to taking a “do everything yourself” approach to management. If you’re pulling 100-hour work weeks, it doesn’t really leave much time for big picture thoughts about direction and strategy. Delegating tasks to a virtual assistant means more headspace to devise new projects, big decisions or creative ways to grow your business. Be a Real Gun Owner! Join the Well-Regulated Militia!
I would never support any gun law that would prevent my 75-year-old dad from getting the guns and ammo he needs to kill an elk. Apparently, the elk as a species have wronged us Belvilles, somehow, and my father shall have his revenge!
I would never support any gun law that would prevent my 70-year-old mom from having a pistol she needs to protect herself.
Neither of them have a need for weapons that can fire dozens of rounds a minute, holding a score or more bullets at a time.
"A well-regulated Militia, being necessary for the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed," says the Second Amendment.
Written in modern English, that's "Since we need militias to remain free and secure states, the people gotta have guns."
But we no longer need a militia to remain free and secure as states.
We have a military that is the size of the next eight militaries combined, most of them, allies. The US Air Force, US Army Air, and US Navy Air are the top three air forces in the world!
We have a National Guard in every state (some would argue, a 'state militia').
We have (absurdly very) well-armed county sheriffs and city police departments.
The freedom and security of, say, Idaho, Oklahoma, and Vermont, are not balanced on the spear tip of Jim-Bob's AR-15.
Now, I know, I know, so, so, so many of you disagree with me whenever I rant on the subject of guns. "GUN GRABBER! AIIIEEE!"
But hear me out.
We can enact regulations on our militia. It's right there in the Amendment.
(Here's where people suddenly become Enlightenment-Era language scholars and say "back then, 'well-regulated' meant 'well-run,' not how we think of as 'regulated,' now," before pivoting faster than LeBron James to assert that "back then 'arms' didn't just mean 'single-shot muskets,' it meant anything we think of as 'arms,' now.")
Stop. You're already diving into the cognitive safety of bumper stickers and Facebook memes.
I'm actually on your side. I like guns. I've fired many. I enjoy going to the middle of gawdawful nowhere (Owyhee desert comes to mind) and shooting the shit out of shit.
I just really, really hate the threat of death by randomly-sprayed bullets in public places. Don’t you?
I grew up in the conservative county in Idaho, Canyon, which is like taking a shvitz in the sauna in Hell. A bit redundant. A place where most people won’t know what “shvitz” means, and even I had to Google the spelling.
I took hunter-ed with my cousin Bill at age 12. I joined the National Guard at age 17, literally on my birthday, with parents’ permission the youngest you can legally join the military. I think every cousin I have that I babysat since their birth is a gun owner and hunter and I know at least two were/are cops. And, as I began, my septuagenarian parents both hunt elk.
So, the last thing I want to see is someone coming to take your guns. You're my family. I don't worry about you and your guns.
(Then again, the Vegas shooters' brother in Florida seemed quite surprised by it all... Just sayin'...)
But I also have lived in Portland for fourteen years (and gone full libtard, some might say). Out here, people wonder how y'all can see slaughter after slaughter, school kids and club goers, Congresspeople and country fans, and y'all just shrug, saying, "Oh, well, some people are evil, thoughts and prayers, not the time to talk about it, nothing we can do about it, more people should have guns... DON'T TAKE MUH GUNS!!!"
It just seems callous. It seems like you care more about keeping your hobby convenient than doing anything to address ever-growing slaughters of your fellow Americans.
What makes the whole thing sadder to me is that my cousins and I agree on a whole raft of common-sense gun regulations: people on terror watch lists shouldn’t be able to buy guns; every gun sale should come with a background check; domestic abusers should not get them, and so on.
Nothing is going to change, of course. After Sandy Hook, I just threw my hands up and figured, well, we’re the gun country. In Australia, there are spiders and snakes that can kill you. In Africa, hippos and rhinos could kill you. Japan has to deal with earthquakes and tsunamis. Switzerland gets avalanches, Thailand gets monsoons.
In America, you just may be mowed down by a randomly-sprayed bullet in a public place, completely by surprise.
Anyway, I didn’t want to end this without a solution. I say we go back to the wisdom of the Founders and make this “well-regulated Militia” a thing.
Not a thing like the National Guard, with its time commitments and uniforms and haircuts and such. The average gun owner doesn’t want to go through all that.
But more a thing like a local gun club.
You want to keep and bear arms, you go join your local Militia. Its requirements are scant: you pay an annual fee (waived for indigency), you pass a basic written test you’re allowed to retake infinitely, you demonstrate weapons proficiency and safety, you attend a certain amount of hours of annual training, you’re fingerprinted and background checked, your weapons are catalogued.
Done correctly, it’s something any law-abiding citizen of any age and reasonable ability (I do have an issue with blind people having guns, for instance) can accomplish. Marketed correctly, it is seen as a badge of honor to be a Militia man or woman, promoted as “The Good Guys With Guns,” maybe even supplementing first responders in the case of emergency.
I can already hear the conspiracies flowing - Hitler had gun registries! AIIEEE! It comes alongside the “we gotta have guns to take on our tyrannical gubmint!” thinking. The tyrannical gubmint y’all can’t seem to shovel enough money at to be the largest military ever in history, you’re taking them down with your AR-15, right.
At some point, you have to reconcile your reverence for police and funding of the military with your blind irrational fear that those same entities are coming for your guns.
Ugh, so much sadness and frustration whenever this happens.

a/N: @annette-martel @isabellafaulkner @ingrid-liljedahl thanks avocados
“I’m sorry, Bobby. Momma must get that crown so we can rule the world.”
“NJKFDNJFKDSNJFKLNASDKJFNSDKJN”
“Yes, I understand that your brothers and sisters are still on the kitchen ground. Don’t worry, Alfrado will clean them up.”
“IHFIUHFDBASJKFNJKVBDFSJHBLJFHDSFJKASDLFN”
“Go to Australia and make me proud,” I said with a single tear sliding down my cheek.
Bob was the last one of his species. They all died. For mysterious reasons. I do not know how. But I will mourn them as I take over the country. Yes, I shall mourn like the sun at night.
Whites gave me a very good goodbye. They threw roses, banana peels, cups of mott’s apple sauce, tomatoes, and nuts at me. A couple got in my hair and I ate it on the plane, which was better than anything I could have hoped for. They were very good snacks. They even held signs with my name with a big red X. I was glad to see they wanted me out of Whites and being in the palace, where I rightfully belonged. One little girl at the age of 18, came for a handshake and smashed an egg on my perfectly gray hair. I guess it was a tradition for the Selected of Whites to get smashed with a food. It was very thoughtful of them to offer me nice hair accessories, but I would be getting a makeover. Not that I needed one anyways, I was already fabulous. What more would you want to do?
I boarded the plane. It was very boring. I had to climb some steps. There were 7 of them. I had to put one foot up each time. My legs were getting a good workout and I could dazzle the Prince with them. I saw 3 girls, already here. They were looking at me, probably so amazed by how beautiful I was. They were all ugly. Compared to me, at least. If not compared to me, they were all decently pretty. The first child, Antlers, began the conversation asking me how I got my wonderful name.
“Named after my great great granduncle,” I replied
The tall one with the short arms, who went by Iguana, asked, “His name was Meme too?” What a fool. That’s a terrible name for an emu.
“No, it was Guatemala. I’m named after his dog.” Duh. How people are stupid still amazes me. 405 years on this planet and they are still all so… stupid.
The last kid, Iowa, barely said a word. She was the smartest corn on the cob. She was so stunned by my attractiveness that she could not speak at all, much like how I look when I look at my dearest bob. Wow. I do not need a makeover, I guess. They stared at my bosom in awe as I fluffed up my hair. It was taller than Prince Dominic’s ego and thicker than his dick.
Antlers pulled out her purse and whipped out some breadstix. How lit. I started to feel sick to my very attractive stomach. Someone had cheese and they were sent here to kill me, the future Queen. THIS WAS TREASON. TREASON, I TELL YOU, TREASON! I must order them to be executed immediately, with lots and lots of armpit farts and dungeon rat dung. I shrivelled up in fear of my life. CHEESE. I finally met my enemy. It was truly terrifying. It was worse than the time I almost got my hair chopped by a guillotine. These barbers, they’re really getting out of hand nowadays. I said I wanted a trim. You know what I got? I GOT 4 CENTIMETERS CUT OFF. These barbers think they have the right to ruin my wonderful hair at the cost of $2.94. They’ll pay for that. They’ll pay way more than $2.94 or even $2.97. I WILL SUE THEM WHEN I BECOME THEIR RIGHTFUL QWEEN.
“Cheese kills… v-vampires,” I choked out weakly. Ant and Iguana kept eating, offering me wine. Did they not know that clearly I could not have wine while dying? I clearly needed some bird saliva mixed with rum and a hint of vodka.
I zoned out for a moment until I heard them talking about Whoopi Goldberg. I was hoping that they had whoopie pies on the plane but they didn’t. What kind of donkey ass plane is this? No whoopie pies? Did my ostriches die for this? They risked their lives for an empty whoopie pie plane. How shameful. They’ll be #69 on my list of people to sue.
“By the end of the week, he’ll have my name tattooed on his forehead” I said with a squirtle like grin on my face.
Apollo had the nerve to speak to me without looking at my gorgeous hair at the same time. How rude. “What are you going to do, wrestle him to the ground and write your name on his forehead with permanent marker?” She continued to sip on her water for the next 10 seconds like Kermit the motherfucking frog.
What kind of an imposter did she think she was? I could tell she wasn’t half as attractive as Kermit so why was she even trying?
“Bingo.” The realization I had the other week hit me like the lightning bolt on Harry Potter’s forehead. “Wait no, bingo is me.” Wow. I was so smart. That guy Alfredo Einsticker could go kiss my bosom.
“By the end of this week already?” Israel asked in a surprised tone. How was this a surprising statement? Dompomkomwom was obviously already in love with the shape of me, so why were they looking at me in terror?
“You’re right. That’s too long. I say by the end of the day.” If they weren’t poor squashbuckers I would’ve made a bet already. They probably weren’t all poor but poor compared to me, and my plentiful ostrich riches. If they had asked I would’ve told them the story of my success. It all came from my hair and my ostriches. And a orange-colored corset tied onto a camel that spit every time you said anything that began with a ‘t’. Except turtle, he would murder you if you said turtle. Or any other word starting with t for that matter. Never say a t word around Tim.
They spent the rest of the plane ride admiring my beauty, while I ate some of the mott’s applesauce that was gifted to me from the gods while I was leaving Whites. I can’t help that I was born as an applesauce eating goddess. Wow, both a goddess and a future Queen. Bobby would be so proud of me. And all my other ostriches. Even the exiled one, Rudolph. He was hunted for having a bright neon green nose. It wasn’t his fault I dipped his nose into radioactive poison when he was 3. Duh. He should have stopped it. It’s not like he had covering on his nose so he was practically asking for it (right).
I cried thinking about what those nasty people would try to do when they “made me over” as if I needed. The only thing acceptable for them to do to my beautiful face to make me even slightly more prettiful was if they made me look like Kermit. Not a fake version of Kermit like Addition. NO, I would be as glorious as the real thing or stay the same.
When I got to the makeover place I was put in station ight. They tried to touch my hair and I yelled at them telling them messing with the future qween was treason. They did not agree and said apple sauce did not belong in a ladies hair. Obviously all the ladies they had been meeting had been wrong.
Finally a reasonable level headed woman came over and told the others “they could have a break from the crazy lady.” I think they were talking about Berklee. The woman asked me a series of questions including, mostly the same one over and over again.
“You really don’t want to change anything?” and also “Are you on crack?”
To which I responded naturally “You don’t mess with perfection Miss donought.” and also “The only cracking I do is Prince Domwompom’s nuts.”
After the makeover nothing important happened until I stumbled upon a rather odd looking midget. She was very snarky and full of snakeness which I did appreciate, but I learned she was my future cousin in law so I tried to play nice. At first I thought it was that blond booby Mertle’s pet Coco. Apparently I was wrong. It’s not my fault I mistook a 4 year old for a small rat. They looked similar.
“Hello, small child,” I said, squinting my eyes to see if it was a girl or a tiny monkey. “Who are you?” she asked. What a dumb child. She didn’t know who I was.
“The future Queen,” I answered. Duh. “I doubt that.” “Why? I am a delight,” I said. Unbelievers. They would suffer once I became Queen.
“You look funny,” she said. “Does funny mean gorgeous in another language, because if so, then yes,” I replied.
“Nope.” “Listen child, that’s very rude.” “So?”
“So you shouldn’t be rude because that’s rude. And I don’t appreciate the sass, young lady.” Who taught this child their manners? I recommend for them to read my book: Parenting Rude Ostriches 101. This was a rude child. I left soon after that because I couldn’t stand to be around such a butthead.
After that encounter I was rather upset so I went to my room and cried, after all I am only ostrich. My maiders tried to comfort me but I sent them away forever, much like the style peoplees they would probably try to ruin my look, and I could not risk that. Plus, how was I supposed to smuggle an ostrich into my room with people constantly snooping on me?
I could do it. I would do it. After all, I was the future Queen and I could do anything.

so there are tons and tons of new people and i have been alarmingly sporadic with my activity because my work life is literally crushing me it’s great!!! anyway i’m shannon & underneath the read more are little(not so little and totally unorganized) blurbs about each of my characters in case anyone wants to plot!!
zoe; (arden cho) sophomore, 20, pre-law, kappa gamma kappa vp; originally from san antonio, tx but moved to pa right before she started high-school, cheerleader, big dumb idiot  basically, a mash between ally mcbeal and elle woods, incidentally they are both her heroes, though she knows ally had her share of problems, she’s very much got a similar mindset. zoe does try to be a good person, she’s smart, loyal and sweet but often can be selfish, stubborn and shallow. generally nice to get along with, she’s not much trouble but isn’t afraid to stick up for herself and once she decides to stand her ground that is it. not the best at doing so of course, that person that will think of a comeback HOURS later instead. hopeless romantic who is in love w/ love, she’s a sucker for anything cute and heartfelt, really wants to have her own modern love story, but also afraid of being burned or being the only one to fall, does stupid shit literally all the time honestly, sticks her foot in her mouth a lot, doesn’t know how to react in uncomfortable situations and will literally RUN AWAY from you, just a big ole sucker, really sweet, really friendly, loves everyone even when not every loves her. serial dater, would love some exes if they only dated a few times, etc etc.

What happens if i cancel by car insurance?
I have recently turned 17 and can start driving in the UK. There is obviously a large difference between insurance quotes for my car depending on whether i hold a provisional license or a full license. While i am on a provisional i can get a quote for 620 with Quinn-Direct but this will go up to 2000+ after i pass my test. What happens if i buy my insurance then cancel it when i pass my test and get a quote from elsewhere, (I can get one for 1400) will i get a percentage of my money back or will it just be lost? Would this put a 15 year old on disability insurance?
(This isn't for me, it's for my younger sister, I've already left home) Okay so, my mother, although she's a doctor, is in pretty large amounts of debt and my sister Abby needs treatment for various mental illnesses (PTSD, Depression, BPD, General anxiety, Anorexia, all professionally diagnosed) She's 15, and she's currently failing school because she feels like she can't go to classes anymore so she just sits around the school (she has thoughts of failure all the time, but in class her thoughts are amped up and she can't concentrate on what she's doing because of the voices in her head). She's trying her hardest to deal with it all on her own, and she's gotten a little bit better (except for her eating disorder), but still thinks she needs help from a psychologist. Our mum can't afford one, and Abby's lost so much weight lately... Can she be put on disability insurance for this? She needs help, we can't afford it. We live in Australia, by the way.""

What is the best car insurance company in North Carolina?
Hi. So I recently moved from New England to North Carolina. I have my 2002 Toyota Camry. It was my Dad's and is still under his name. However, I want to get the title in my name hopefully by early 2014. That means paying for insurance too. I figure I'm going to have to do this soon, might as well do it now and learn more responsibility. My parents are paying for my car and their cars under MetLife. (Yes, the one with the Snoopy logo). They are paying about the same plan they did in Massachusetts. I know North Carolina has more competition in pricing and I want to shop around for a decent plan that gives me what I need but for a better price. My Mom is hysterical and doesn't want me to go anywhere else because she think NC insurance is crap. I like that MetLife gives me what I need but I'm not paying more than I have to in insurance. Sorry Mom. So my question is. What is the best car insurance company in North Carolina? Any suggestions. I would like a company that offers affordable plans but also is a reliable company when I need them. Please NO cheapo discount insurance. Here are my only two liabilities in my driving history: 1. Got into a minor car accident in October of 2011. Just a paint smear with another car. Nobody was hurt and neither car got in worse performance condition. 2. Got a seatbelt violation ticket in January 2013. (It was actually for speeding but the cop went easy probably because he saw I was wearing a suit. I was on my way to a family memorial service near the South Boston area.) Any experiences? I mean, what is my Mom worried about? I never hear in the news about people dying because they have NC car insurance. I know there is cut rate (bad) insurance out there because of competition. But there's got to be something better in NC than paying a Taxachuetts MetLife plan. (Sorry BayStaters, but you know it's true) Thank you!""

Will insurance cover damages caused by DUI crash?
I was leaving a parking lot, left too fast, and I fishtailed into a parked car (no one was in the parked car and I was not injured). Is this covered under home owner's insurance?
We have been doing A LOT of work on our house (getting it ready to sell), and we've paid for basically everything (even things that would've clearly been covered by insurance). However, this problem is one I'd rather not pay for if it can be avoided. There was apparently a leak under our shower and it caused some fairly serious rot under the floor. We were unaware of the leak. The carpenter who came says that there will be some fairly extensive work necessary on the shower itself, not just the rotted wood (which will be easy and fairly inexpensive to replace). Car Insurance -- Hail damage?
Just wanted to come here to ask a question. My car is an '03 model and was caught in a hail storm a few weeks ago. I have probably around 30-45 dents in my hood, roof, and a large dent on the rear passenger side door that I believe is a result of the wind blowing things around, etc. I have an appointment to get it looked at tomorrow and the people at the insurance company said that they'd write me a check for the cost of the repairs. BUT, i asked her if she knew about how much I'd be expecting and she said that it depends on if the costs exceed the deductible? That's where I'm having problems. There is no lien holder on the car. And from what I've read on the internet, these repairs could cost over 1k. If that's the case, would they just say that we need to pay the deductible and they'd fix it? Or would they write me a check for the repair amount? If someone could answer I'd really appreciate it. Thanks""

""How does car insurance in Ontario, Canada work if deductibles are involved?""
Maybe I'm missing something here, but the way it's been explained to me is this: I've got a $500 deductible on my policy. If someone backs into my parked car, this will be deducted from the payout I get for repairs. OK, let's say the damages amount to $900. That would mean that because of MY $500 deductible, the payout to me would be $400. I'd have to pay the other $500 out of pocket to repair my car. The insurance company would then reclaim that $400 from the other guy's insurance company. Now, if the other guy also has a $500 deductible (very likely), then he'd have to pay $400 out of pocket. That seems wacked to me. Someone damages my car, and he has to pay LESS than I do for the damages. Am I missing something?""

Real Weddings: Mel and Matts Beautiful Summer Wedding
The weekend is here Cwtchers!! Happy Friday!
And to start you off, we have a beautiful wedding to share with you. Shot by the superb Hannah from Rocksalt Photography, Mel and  Matt tell us all about their beautiful summery day….
Mel and Matt’s Beautiful Summer Wedding
What was your budget?
We did and didn’t have a budget… we tried to be sensible (read “tight”!) but also considered each expense on its necessity, its worth and its contribution to our day!
How would you describe your wedding theme?
I called our theme “Summer Gatsby”… all glass and art deco without the black and gold!
What was your favourite part of your wedding?
Mel: I think- surprisingly for me- walking down the aisle was my favourite part of our day (surprisingly as I hate being centre of attention)! I was ready. My Dad on my arm, I was walking into the next chapter of my life and my closest friends and family were there to share that moment with me. Wow! That’s pretty sentimental!
Matt: The band! I love live music and we’d hired an amazing band who entertained us for hours. It was also the time for me to relax and really enjoy celebrating with my new wife and all our guests.
Tell us about your Wedding Dress
I was the bride who thought she’d never get married and had no idea what dress I wanted so my plan was to try as many styles as I could to find out what suited me. My first experience trying on wedding dresses was a last minute appointment at David’s Bridal, Stratford with one of my bridesmaids. We were wandering Westfield after a day in London whilst our other halves went to watch the football at a nearby bar. Little did Pete know, Matt was about to ask Pete to be his best man so whilst I left London without a dress, Matt left London with a Best Man! Being 5’2″ I never thought I’d go for a mermaid/trumpet style but I fell in love with an Essence of Australia number- during my next appointment at Laura May on Crwys Road, Cardiff- which was exactly that! The fit was perfect, I felt amazing in it (my bum looked great!) and most importantly-, my mum and mother-in-law-to-be loved it! To be sure it was “the one”, I arranged a second appointment with all my bridesmaids who I knew would be honest… even whilst I was 6 months pregnant! Nope, that wasn’t planned! Safe to say it wasn’t as ‘easy’ an appointment as the first however, it confirmed I’d picked the right dress- I just had to fit back into it!
Who did you pick as your bridesmaids &/or best man and why?
Mel: It was pretty easy for me to pick my bridesmaids; my sister was Maid of Honour, or “Chief” as I liked to call her(!), Matt’s sister who I already saw as a sister, my two long-term, best friends and the Best Man’s wife who I clicked with as soon as we met a few years prior. I say it was easy but I always had a feeling something was missing- that something was another friend who I’d grown up with but now lives away. Now here’s the funny part… considering my bridesmaids’ ages and marital situations, it was always a possibility that one of them could fall pregnant before the big day but I never thought 2 of them would! I’d already bought the dresses so we could have had a dilemma but no! I had a plan! Shifting some bridesmaids up a size with the dresses and buying one new one to match the others, there was a spare dress… which fit my other friend perfectly! Now I’m not one to believe in fate but I do believe that some circumstances are meant to be and this was certainly one of them.
Matt: My choice was easy- I chose Pete! Out of my group of friends, I knew he would be the one to a). get me home from my Stag Do in one piece, and b). get me to the church on time… I’m notoriously late for everything and Mel is the complete opposite!
Why did you choose your venue?
Buckland Hall is a magical place! We fell in love with it the first time we visited. It was the last on our list of a number of venues in Brecon and I was tempted not to even go as their website was a little old fashioned. However, Matt convinced me and as soon as we pulled up to the long winding driveway I had goosebumps and a tear in my eye! That’s the truth! The staff there were so welcoming and we felt like it was ‘home’ from the start.
Tell us about your photographer
We found Rocksalt (Hannah )after looking at the Welsh Wedding Awards lists and thinking they must be good if they’ve won an award for their region! We arranged to meet Hannah at a pub almost a year before we were getting married and found her easy to get on with from then. Just before our wedding we met at our venue to discuss the wedding then by the big day it was as if we were old friends! Hannah had a very easy-going personality which suited our crowd to a ‘T’. She offered advice on ‘staged’ shots (not too many) and arranged some brilliant photographs on the day, making the most of what our venue had to offer. She gauged her audience very well and quickly realised how to tame the rowdy groomsmen and had my brothers rounding up guests like they were cowboys with horses! Hannah had a great sense of humour and was a real pleasure to work with. The quality of her work is outstanding; the creativity with her shots are incredible- we were so excited when we received our photos so promptly after our wedding and the results were truly unforgettable. Hannah really captures the special moments from your day.
How did the proposal happen?
Both Matt & I love Christmas so we woke up Christmas morning in 2013 all excited as usual and Matt said he had some last minute wrapping to do for one of my presents- for anyone who knows Matt, this was totally believable! I was gutted as I had to wait in the bedroom with the door shut- on my own!- until he shouted that he was ready. So…. “Ready!” I walked out of the bedroom and he wasn’t in the spare room. I looked at the mirror on the landing and there was a print-out of Santa with the words, “Follow the trail” stuck to it and there were rose petals trailing down the stairs! I followed the trail where there were more Santa print-outs leading me to the living room. I opened the living room door and there was Matt, down on one knee under the Christmas tree with our song at the time (“I’m Yours” by the Script) playing in the background. I took one look at him, began to cry, covered my mouth and said “noooooooo!”… but in the context of “I can’t believe it!”. I think he was a little miffed as he then said, “So will you marry me?”! and it took all of me to nod as I cried like a baby! I was so happy! The hardest part of being engaged is being told to keep it quiet and this is what Matt said I had to do until lunchtime… every Christmas until we got engaged we’d wake up together but have Christmas lunch separately with our respective families. Matt didn’t want one family to find out before the other so I was told we had to Skype before dinner and that’s when we’d break the good news. Long story short- I had to avoid my Dad’s eye contact for 4-5 hours because Matt told me he’d asked for his permission on Christmas Eve, so he knew our secret! Then we had signal issues at lunch using Skype (think 90’s modem-esq video!) so once our news had finally broken, it was all a bit of a crazy, amazing moment! The best part for me was seeing my mum cry with happiness and my sister telling me she couldn’t choose between crying and eating her paté on toast starter!
Any DIY stories/tutorials you’d like to share?
I’ve always thought of wedding favours as an unnecessary expense, a forgotten ‘gift’ so I wanted to come up with a memorable favour; especially as I see myself as a creative type! After getting some inspiration and a laser printer, I decided we were going to use specialist paper to transfer our initials and each guests’ name and ‘role’ onto champagne glasses they could use on the day.
To be fair to Matt, he spent many an evening transferring our monogram and individual names onto Ikea glasses, hardening them in the oven then carefully rubbing off the excess paper with isopropyl alcohol. It took so much time and effort we began to wonder whether it was worth it but when my cousin posted an Instagram showing he was using his glass again, it gave us a little warm feeling that actually, we’d made favours that were useful and brought back some amazing memories!
What was your first dance & why?
After buying a house and later having a baby, we spent a few Saturday nights in watching X-Factor and both absolutely loved James Arthur the whole series through! Once X-Factor was finished and the acts pretty much forgotten about, Matt still kept up with James Arthur online and found he’d made an EP called “The James Arthur Project”. One song on there he introduced me to was called “Superman”. It resonated with both of us and became the obvious choice- over The Script and Al Green- to be our wedding song,
In hindsight, was there anything you would have done differently?
Neither of us can think of anything we would have done differently as it was such a great day. I think I would have liked to have taken more in and thought about myself a bit more and not worried about the guests so much but they make such an effort to come to your day, maybe I should have worried about them more?!
Do you have any advice for future couples?
We only have the general advice I think; enjoy your day, don’t stress too much, take 5 minutes away from the chaos just for yourselves and remember- the little things don’t REALLY matter! e.g. No-one noticed there was a bunch of lillies missing from our fireplace, or that my dress didn’t fit me as perfect as I’d hoped after alterations or that all the female guests were missing their ‘tickets’ before sitting down to dinner..!
What was your favourite thing about planning a wedding?
I think we both agree that although we had almost a 2 year gap between booking our wedding and getting married, it’s the final result which makes everything worthwhile. Seeing all your plans come to fruition and your nearest and dearest enjoying what you’ve worked towards is priceless.

From Jill,
A Christian cousin of mine who is a ‘heterosexual awareness activist’ (yes, he actually calls himself that)   shared the following extract from a blog post of a gay male bartender, who goes unnamed in his blog. (Yes, my homophobic cousin spends his free him trolling gay bloggers and then flaming them.)
Now my cousin claimed this bartender was heterophonic and according to my cousin’s rant was ‘bashing on straight people and traditional marriage and shaming any straight woman who dared to be happy about marrying a man.’
I personally think my cousin is insane and reading into things. But as a lesbian sometimes I may be a bit of a bias judge.
I remember ages ago a debate on here about heterophobia potentially actually existing and of problems with creating LGTB only streets and communities.
So below is the extract my cousin posted.
Do you think my cousin is right? Or is the bartender being reasonable?
I think the bartender is being reasonable. Although to be fair I feel a bit jilted by bachelorette parties. I was at a gay night club a while ago and a pretty young girl started dancing with me. We started making out and she started giggling. I broke off the kiss and saw another girl filming it. Turns out she was straight and had been dared at the bachlorlette party to make out a lesbian. So yeah. I felt humiliated and like they were making light of my sexuality. And thought I never met him, I kinda get where this bartender is coming from.
Does that make both him and I hetrophobic?
So here is what my cousin shared, which was written by a bartender:
‘In Australia same sex couples can’t get married yet. Homophobia continues to be a problem with same-sex couples still risking getting dirty looks and lewd comments by some members of the public. The saturation of heterosexual culture and straight couples  can also make you feel alien, isolated and lonely.
So there is a reason LGTB people want safe spaces like Gay Bars; not just for hooking up and dating but also to be in a space that you know is free of homophobia and full of people who get you, and  get the feeling of being an alien sometimes and are there embrace the chance to be together and feel like part of a community. Community spirit is important and we are stronger together. With LTGB suicide so high, having a space where you are surrounded by people who know what you are going through is important and after a hard day, say after a flight with homophobic relatives, walking into the pub can be like a breath of fresh air and the sense of community and not being alone is mood altering to the extreme.
In other words, I love where I work. I am a bartender at a LGTBQ pub. And despite working there forty-eight hours a week (six nights a week, with 5pm starts and 1 am finishes) I can’t get enough of it. While I work nights, sometimes I will even go to the pub for lunch with friends and I don’t mind it at all. I love the community, the locals and the atmosphere and am honestly one of the people who love going to work.
Sometimes we even get straight people coming into the bar, and they are more than welcome to. A lot of the time straight friends will come as a show of support to help their friend who may be questioning their sexuality or just recently come out and have never been to a LGTB pub before and don’t have any LGTB friends.
I also love when parents will come in with their LGTB kids, the mum and dad will sit eating lunch with their young adult kid to show they are learning, adapting and supportive of their child’s sexuality.
There is only one problematic thing about some of the heterosexual guests (only some, the majority are lovely, supportive and very respectful) and that is hen’s nights/bachelorette parties, one or two of which seem to find their way to the pub every weekend.
We are obviously happy that they are getting married.
But to celebrate getting married in a pub that caters  to LGTB people who legally can’t get married is a bit insensitive.
For example, more than half of our customers as in loving, committed and long-term relationships and  if they could would have been married years ago. And so to come in to a LGTB safe space and remind a lot of the couples who are trying to enjoy a peaceful Friday night that they can’t get married yet is a touch insensitive.
Another problem with bachelorette parties is the lewd comments and sometimes even attempting groping. Women like to let loose and have fun on their friend’s last night of freedom. But if you want to flirt with men, go to a straight club or a strip show as lewd comments and groping makes many of the men feel awkward and like they are pieces of meat. LGTB spaces are a space for gay men where they can be open about their sexuality and so to come into the pub for that peace of mind and then to be suddenly hit on by partying women can be uncomfortable.  If you want to get down and party with someone at a gay club ladies, I’m sure some of our lovely lesbians will be willing to oblige you on the dance floor.’
I will share that blog post but I won’t share what my cousin wrote as it was ugly and contained offensive and foul language.
So what is your opinion on the bartender’s opinion?
Dear Jill,
It’s a very interesting and a very complex topic to discuss. It’s the kind of thing that I’m sure could be a conversation that lasted hours, but I’ll try to keep my response fairly simple. Please keep in mind that this is all simply my opinion, born from what limited knowledge and experience I have.
1) I have met people who are clearly heterophobic, so I would definitely say that it’s real. It’s quite rare but it’s out there. I have met a few people who just make little remarks about “breeders” being gross, making faces at straight couples, or not respecting a straight person refusing their advances because “everyone’s a little bit gay”. But then there are some, like one woman in particular that I used to see semi-regularly and even stayed in my home (a relative of an old roommate) who was extremely rude and could actually get violent because she disliked heterosexuals so much. She was very confrontational and had a blind hatred for anyone that wasn’t obviously gay.
2) In my opinion, as tempting as it is to create communities and safe places for certain types of people, I believe it is ultimately volunteered segregation and I think it doesn’t help things in the long run. This is, of course, an opinion and one that I am quite open about because I’ve not had many discussions with people who have spent large amounts of time in such communities. My main reason for this belief is because of what I see happening in my own country between the First Nations people and pretty much everyone else, or with the Chinese communities in some of the big cities. There are reservations for First Nations people to live in so that they can be with their own people and live in their own culture--a lovely idea. I’m not going to debate all the pros and cons and he-said-she-saids of it, because it is a sensitive subject, but I can tell you that that segregation leads to tension, hatred, and a lack of empathy from both sides. It creates an Us and Them mentality and divides us both mentally and physically based on nothing other than our races. My boyfriend has been verbally attacked and called a traitor by other First Nations people (yes, he is First Nations himself) because he disagrees with the idea of living on a reservation. In bigger cities, the same thing is sometimes seen with the China Town areas. I fully understand the desire to be surrounded by people just like you in order to feel comfortable, but I’ve never seen isolation lead to anything good.
3) That all being said, I give Australia more leeway with this particular situation because there is not yet real equality for the LGBT community. In Canada, we have equality and it’s quite rare to see open homophobia (at least in my province anyway-- I can’t speak for the whole country). Here, I think creating LGBT exclusive communities or bars would only serve to needlessly deepen a divide that has been slowly disappearing over the years. In countries or areas where homophobia is still common and there are not yet laws in place to give the same protections and rights to LGBT people and everyone else, I think the need for safe places is very understandable and I support it.
4) Sure, it’s insensitive to celebrate a marriage around people who can’t get married yet, but I really think that making a fuss about it isn’t going to help. If you want straight allies, you don’t make them by ruining something beautiful for them because you can’t have it too. Instead of getting mad that I can’t get married too (which is something that particular person can’t change for me), I would just try to be happy that they’ve found someone to love. Isn’t that what’s it’s supposed to be about anyway? Worry about hatred and discrimination, not someone just being thoughtlessly insensitive or else people stop listening to what you have to say.
5) I don’t really think what this bartender is talking about is necessarily an LGBT problem. Bachelorette parties go to straight bars and get out of hand too. I used to work in a Chinese restaurant and experienced a bachelorette party come through that were rowdy, inappropriately sexual for a family restaurant, and harassed the male staff and other customers. I’ve seen women be too pushy with their advances (married, gay, simply not interested, etc) and disrespectful of men’s right to their own body in many different situations as well. While the events discussed in the article occurred in a gay bar, I think its more of a problem with the double-standards our society has created regarding women’s sexual behaviour (primarily that it doesn’t count as sexual assault if a woman does it and women sexually assaulting people is considered “funny”) and people just being douchebags in general. It’s the kind of thing that pops up everywhere and it just so happens that this particular bar that experiences it is one for LGBT people (though the woman who wanted video of her making out with another woman was clearly LGBT targeted).
Finally, I suppose I do agree with the bartender, just with a couple of footnotes added in. I think safe places for LGBT people in Australia are appropriate as equality and acceptance has not yet been established. Celebrating a marriage in a gay bar is definitely insensitive, but I think getting upset about it will hurt the cause more than help it. And I absolutely agree that the behaviour described is incredibly offensive and inappropriate, but I don’t think it’s necessarily a gay club problem so much as it is people who would probably be just as offensive and inappropriate if they went somewhere else. Douchebags are gonna be douchebags no matter where they are.

Okay Western, I see you. Showing your true colors on national headlines. I'm absolutely unsurprised.  I'm so sorry to the folks that had to experience the extra boost of hate on campus and were subjected to nonsense and gas lighting and straight up racist crap. I can always count on the fact that if I scroll through Facebook long enough, I will eliminate homesickness. I swear only in America will we wonder what could have been done to stop school shooting X that was forewarned online one month and another wonder if canceling a day of classes is an overreaction. In the country with more mass shootings than there are days in a year.
Thanksgiving! I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving dinner free of conversations about Trump, the refugee crisis, Islamaphobia, Benghazi no seluk tan (and others/more). Already know my parents didn't.  I probably would have gotten us/myself banned from family events. Over here PC suggested we do something to share Thanksgiving with our community and do something with our half day. In my cluster, we did do a really nice dinner with our families and tried our best to do what we could with what's available in Timor. Apparently green beans were expensive so our Training staff that kindly went shopping for us got mostarda instead (which is actually more bok choy than mustard greens). I'm completely unsure of how rice noodles, ketchup and oyster sauce wound up on the list though. But hey, my now world famous garlic mashed potatoes came out perfect and were solely cooked over fire. So they tasted even better. It was such a great dinner and I truly am so thankful for my family and community here. I may have almost cried. Actually my host mom started crying a bit today thinking about the fact I'm leaving so soon. Meanwhile while we had this great moment in Sucalau (we glossed over the true deal behind thanksgiving but I explained it to my family the next day), all the rest of the volunteers hung out at the museo (the foreigner drop spot) and planned on doing a trip to the city this weekend. Some made it out to the beach on their half day.  Not saying anyone's use of the day was better, although Eka said she doesn't have favorites but likes our cluster the best after the dinner. Oh yeah half the PC staff showed up. Fo agradese means give thanks*
Small humble brag time I was chosen as not only the safety warden for my district but also to say some words at the host family/community appreciation event.  As safety warden I'm in charge of liaising between my other volunteers in Manatuto (all three of us, so far) and the Safety and Security Manager in case of emergency situations. Oh also I did pretty well on my mock LPI so I'm feeling better about the real Language Proficiency Interview this week. We've finished up with language classes in a super anticlimactic way but I suppose we are good enough to pick the rest up. My teacher says I'll be speaking like a Timor oan in six months which is a lie but ver nice to hear. Okay that's it.
Cross Cultural exchanges We're always learning new interesting things in our homes, like that I can't go out when it starts to rain because folks are afraid of getting sick according to traditional customs. The most frustrating is when I get usually  "tamba tauk moras" aka they're afraid I'll get sick/hurt. Which I totally respect but say more about it. It gets really frustrating to have your actions/movements limited all for what seems at first like a blanket vague explanation. But I think the best conversation recently about cross cultural exchange was with two of the language teachers that started out with me explaining that in America, you can't call it the "Ching Chong" language and you can't summon people by saying "Oy, Metan (black)". By the end they were explaining the mechanics of marriage between cousins. For anyone who's wondering, it's illegal by church and law but is traditional custom. Please excuse the heteronormativity and cis-normativity that follows. It's how it was explained to me. Let's say Jose and Anna are siblings, and they each have a daughter and a son. If Anna dies, in order for her family to stay in the family, Jose's son has to marry Anna's daughter or if she is already married with kids, her daughter(? Still unclear on that). But Anna's son can't marry Jose's daughter, it doesn't work that way. Anthropologically fascinating.
Important day tomorrow in history There have been an enormous amount of holidays during PST that I'm shocked it's only ten weeks. But tomorrow (12/7) not because of Pearl Harbor (when the US decided internment camps were an acceptable idea) but because it's the day that Indonesia invaded. I'm still trying to figure out an apolitical and delicate way to ask people's thoughts on the Indonesian Occupation. I'm sure such a way doesn't exist. But but it's interesting when tonight my host mom said that the people didn't grow ai-farinah tahan before the Indonesians came but now it's a big thing, and looking up at the news on tv and seeing photos of the starvation inflicted. And I'm curious if the Islamaphobia I've heard from the host brothers is a product of the Indonesian occupation (in which case I am not going to touch it) or a product of globalization (in which case, "Americans that do think that way are hateful bigots in my personal opinion"). Speaking of which, if it hasn't already been said by him, I'm putting money on Trump recommending we put refugees in internment camps next, while he's pulling out hateful atrocities of WWII. Did anyone know that Japan and Australia actually used Timor-Leste as their battlefield against each other in WWII? Thousands of people killed in a war they weren't even a part of. There is a museo dedicated to it and by museo I mean a space with large vinyl posters in Portuguese, Tetum and English. It's a foreigner drop spot because it's in Lonely Planet and the food on the weekends is expensive. Another trainee lives with the family that runs it.
Annoying health stuff I've almost gotten used to waking up to multiple bug bites on my feet. Always my feet: I don't know why.  What I never am getting over is flies constantly thinking it's their personal buffet later when I've eventually gave in, scratched and apparently opened up their VIP seating. Don't tell me to stop scratching, because that's right following the other annoyance of people I've just met asking me about them. And oh my god how did this mosquito get under my net?! Don't worry, I killed it.
Reactions to other foreigners More and more over the time of PST, as I've seen other malaes pass through Dare, my reaction has shifted from wondering what brings them here to wondering who are these people in my community. Which is I'm sure what people here thought when we showed up. Most recently, there was a group here who bothered me from the start because when we were in class we saw them come through the museo and my friend (who's Asian) was the first person out to their line of sight and they asked in the most patronizing simplified English "can we get some coffee". Judging by the passing privilege I have if I were the first one out there the guide would have just asked me in Tetum. But anyway, later that week they came through to the big mass where the bishop came to do charisma and rolled through behind him standing on the back of the truck like it was a safari. They were inappropriately dressed for mass, too. But apparently after I left, the PCTs were invited to the big lunch with the bishop but not them and they got through anyway. My friend found out what's up and they've been doing an annual teaching tour for years but somehow scheduled this one for when the schools are on break so they taught one English without knowing any Tetum.
Anyway I love the responses I've been getting and it means a lot that folks take the time out to send them even if it's just a quick blurb. Let me know what you care about hearing about. And if I missed you on any update, let me know and I'll get it to you. And if you don't want these actually, let me know also.  I'm on a data time out after this so I will catch you all just a little after swearing in (when I actually become a PCV).

The Necessity of Hiring a Virtual Assistant
Tumblr media
The Internet has changed almost everything in different sectors and it cradles various opportunities and advantages to everyone. Communication now is a bit faster, marketing is automated and graphics are livelier and website development are smarter. Hence, business owners might not have all the time doing everything on their multiple websites; such as, responding emails, resolving bugs in the site, collecting money etc. These are the impending issue that people are facing nowadays. Even though it can be automated you still need someone to man the ground. This is where a virtual assistant comes in. Why business owners need a virtual assistant? The following are the reasons why you need to hire a virtual assistant: Automation – One goal of almost every Internet entrepreneur that we encounter has been to automate their business. That means that with the least amount of effort on the part of the business owner all of the day to day operations can be completed. Everything that needs to be done to keep a business running smoothly. Often just these operations can take up 30% or more of a business owner’s time. Meanwhile, these are tasks that can easily be documented and delegated to individuals that are trustworthy and have experience in these matters or can be trained to do them with relative ease. Channeling to the right person – Sometimes, business owners have one of those great ideas, but lack the skills or time to get it off the ground. Virtual assistants come from all sorts of backgrounds. Many are college educated and have worked in a number of fields. Business owners can struggle to do everything or they can delegate the items that require more specialized skills like writing, editing, data entry, graphic design, web development and many other items to individuals that are more experienced in these roles. Finding what you are looking for – Virtual assistants are perhaps the most apt Internet researchers on the planet. They know how to quickly navigate the search engines and web sites to find exactly what they’re looking for with grace and ease. They can cut the time a business owner spends searching for things online in half while taking the task completely off of their shoulders. A virtual assistant can help you investigate your market, find what your competitors are doing, explore new business ventures, and find cheaper ways to do what you are already doing or the best way to do whatever is to be accomplished. Getting it done – Nowadays, things over the internet changed without prior notice, instantly. That’s how unpredictable the internet realm at times; you have no ways of knowing them beforehand, and when this happened you might need to do a lot of work to calibrate your business back to the niche where you belong. Of course, you need to do it faster so hiring someone who knows exactly what your problem is and how to resolve it is the best step that you should do. Don’t carry all the burden if you don’t want to be left behind by your competitors. The future may be uncertain, but what is for certain is that when the time comes that you need this extra help, you’ll be glad that you have it. Not an Employee – Perhaps one of the favorite aspects of hiring a virtual employee to many a business owner is that this person is not an employee. It means that you don’t have to worry about paying them overtime, worrying about filing tax forms, paying for sick days and benefits, insurance, worker’s compensation, etc. With a virtual assistant you can get all the benefits of an extra set of hands, extra head to turn to, someone to organize your business and projects, optimize your business processes, and completely automate your business without the headache of hiring a physical I welcome you to check out my premnium product's shop, where you will get all premium virtual products at the lowest rate.
