Ever since you'd been signed to the same label as Elvis, you'd struggled adjusting to the Hollywood lifestyle. You'd found a friend in Elvis though, something you'd never thought you'd say. As soon as he'd met you, he'd been kind, protective and patient with you, when not many people had been. He'd let you spend time in his trailer between takes and rehearsals which you were grateful for, especially since you were having a tough time in media training classes with other new talent that had been signed. The boys and girls in those classes weren't as kind to you as Elvis was, they all came from the Hollywood area, with rich relatives who were higher up in the label, whereas you'd auditioned and came from a pokey little town out in California. You tried your best to fit in but your upbringing just hadn't been the same.

That's where Elvis felt awful protective of you, he'd faced a similar difficulty, growing up in Tupelo all those years ago. He could see the talent and potential in you, not to mention how hard you worked. He didn't want you to face the same hardships he'd had to.

You'd had enough today, you'd been made fun of, yet again by the other guys that were all training to be dancers and stunt guys, and it had all gotten too much. You missed home and everything that came with it. You made a beeline for Elvis' dressing room, keeping your head down because you knew if someone even dared to ask if you were okay, you'd burst into tears. You gently knocked on the door, praying that Elvis was there and hopefully not with his entourage. The door swung open and you were met with Elvis' grin. "Are you busy? I don't wanna bother you." You asked quietly, looking past him to see if he had company.

Elvis moved away from the entrance, making room for you to walk in, "No honey, want to come in?" You nodded, walking into the room that smelt of cigar smoke as he closed the door behind you. "Don't you have your press conference training now little one?" Elvis asked as he went to pour himself a drink. "M'not going." You said grumpily, collapsing down onto the plush couch. "I know it's a drag baby, but you gotta go, I made your Momma a promise that you wouldn't slack on your work." Elvis chuckled, not clocking onto your upset mood yet. "I said I'm not going!" You snapped, your voice cracking a little. You were just so upset at always being left out and feeling like an idiot. Elvis stalled, he hadn't heard you speak like that before, especially not to him. You were an innocent little thing, everyone on set knew it and you would never openly challenge or disobey anyone, whether it was a label executive or one of the catering staff. "Baby, I don't know where you found that goddamn attitude but you best get rid of it right now. I ain't gonna let no little girl talk to me like that." Elvis warned, walking over to you.

The harsh words tipped you over the edge, the last thing you'd wanted was to upset your one friend on set. You were just frustrated and Elvis snapping at you caused you to burst into soft sobs. You covered your face with your hands as you blubbed and Elvis immediately softened, taken aback with concern as he watched you hiccup and cry. "M'sorry," You choked. "I had a b-bad day." You stuttered, tripping on your words as you let out soft cries. "Oh little un', what's happened hm?" He cooed, sitting next to you, placing his hand on your back, rubbing soothing circles as he grabbed some tissues with his other hand to give to you. "I miss home, Elvis," You said quietly, "Everyone at the rehearsals and classes is so mean and they say stuff and I don't know what they mean and um," You paused to sniffle and wipe your pink nose, "They all laugh at me and it's n-not funny." You said as you sat cross legged on the couch, your whole body now facing Elvis. "What are they saying baby?" Elvis asked gently. He wasn't exactly surprised at what you said, you were an easy target, you were sweet, kind and gentle and it was a tough industry, one you weren't exactly made for. "I don't know, I don't understand it." You said quietly, feeling dumb and ashamed. "Can you tell me what they said to you, little?" Elvis encouraged. You paused, taking a wobbly breath, glancing at Elvis who only smiled at you. He never made you feel dumb or stupid, even if you could be at times, a bit naive. "They a-asked me if I 'give a head' or if I ever have done and I said I don't know w-what that means, because I don't!" You said, tearily. "A-and they all laughed at me and they wouldn't tell me and I don't know what they mean and it's really confusing." You said, quietly trailing off. Elvis felt his blood boil. He knew he was protective of you, the baby in front of him, everyone knew he was and maybe he was overprotective at times but how could he not be when this would happen to you? In front of him was the sweetest little girl and whilst Elvis would never call you dumb, even if other people might, he knew you were just innocent and inexperienced and definitely someone that somebody with bad intentions could take advantage of easily. It made Elvis, rightly or wrongly, want to protect you and take care of you in the way that he saw fit and that way was to preserve your innocence. If Elvis could have his way, he'd take you away from all of this sin and misdemeanour, all the way to his home, Graceland, where he would let you stay and do everything you loved without the stress and pressure of working this gruelling schedule. "Who said this to you?" Elvis said sternly. "It's all of them Elvis, i-it's just confusing." You hiccuped. "I want a name, Y/N." Elvis said as you glanced up at him through wet lashes. "Paulie Matthews." You mumbled softly. "Are you gonna make me go back to rehearsal?" You asked meekly. "No honey, you're gonna stay right here, with me." As soon as Elvis said that, it was as if a visible weight had lifted from your shoulders. Elvis knew the press team would be angry at the lack of your attendance but he had enough power that no-one would question it.

"Elvis?" "Yes, little one?" Elvis said, gently pushing back some hair that had fallen in front of your face. "What does 'give a head' mean?" Your brows furrowed together and cocked your head to the side with confusion and curiousity. Elvis breathed a heavy sigh at your question and the innocence in the way that you said it, before the door burst open with laughter and chatter, making you jump slightly. Elvis rubbed your back soothingly straight away to try and calm you. It was Jerry, Red, and the rest of the Mafia, chatting after their outing to the local steakhouse. "What have I told you about goddamn knockin'?" Elvis barked furiously. The guys all apologised, insisting that Elvis just needed to hear this story about how Red had pulled a waitress and got a free steak out of it, none of them paying any attention to you, the sweet thing, sat near Elvis. As the bustling continued, Elvis noticed you shuffled a little closer to him.

You were visibly overwhelmed at all the men and the commotion. "You okay baby?" Elvis whispered to you softly. You chewed your lip feverishly. "Want to stay by my side and keep me company?" He offered, in a sweet and gentle tone. You nodded almost instantly, making Elvis smile down at you. "C'mere sweetheart." He nodded. You nestled into his side as he led his arm across the back of the couch, allowing you to perfectly slot in next to him. Elvis pet your hair and placed a tender kiss atop your head, as your wobbly breathing evened out. "Elvis?" You whispered. Elvis hummed in response, lowering his head so you could whisper in his ear cutely. You leaned up a little, putting your hand by your mouth so no one could see or hear what you were whispering. "Do ya think the guys might know what 'give a head' means? Should I ask them?" You asked before moving back a little so you could study his face. Elvis laughed a little at you, he couldn't help but adore how sweet and innocent you were. "No baby, I'll show you later, you just relax now pretty girl." Elvis smiled. You smiled back, feeling relieved that you could always be yourself around the most famous man in the world.

Hey! I have a question: do you think Claudeliene will be a thing in show? And if yes, would it be mutual or one-sided from Claudia's side?

I saw people saying that show Claudia doesn't need mother figure WHICH I AGREE! I would be ecstatic for Claudia to experience at least a little happiness before death and have "her Louis" or "her Lestat" as she said.

But for some reason I never saw how it's gonna work when show established that Claudia views people that are attracted to her 14 years old body as pervs?

For Claudeliene to be mutual proper relationship they need to ignore this aspect (I doubt they would)/make this "Claudia is so desperate for love that she goes with it even if she knows it's wrong" situation/make their relationship romantic but asexual including no kissing/perhaps draw a parallel between Claudia being stuck in child's body and people with similar disabilities that deserve to experience romantic love no matter what their body looks like

Do you think any of this can be true? Or it will be Claudia pining and Madeleine viewing her as little sister? I imagine in this scenario Claudia would console herself "at least she's good person, she doesn't want to fuck a teenager" or something similar.

Also one-sided pining can give us painful scene of Claudia seeing Louis freely experience Armand's love and being bitter because "You trapped me like this! You wanted a sister, a daughter, and now I can't be anything but those things! I can't be anyone's girlfriend, anyone's wife, anyone's mother, you were the only one who saw me enough to choose as companion, but clearly I no longer of use! You need someone who can fuck you!"

Or maybe we won't have any romance at all. Even though I think it'll be wasted opportunity :(

As much as I would love the idea of Claudeleine ... I think the producer said that they would stay closer to the book for their relationship, which would mean not romantic.

I can easily see Claudia be the "sister". That is what she set as a designation for herself, and that could easily be integrated with a loss Madeleine experienced (and which we might have seen hinted at in that one trailer).

I... don't see Claudia pining in a one-sided way. On the contrary, I think Claudia will be very settled in her feelings next season - what little we saw of her and Madeleine did strike me as very clear cut, very open, very serene, if that makes sense. I don't think it's going to be a muddled thing for them.

I don't see Madeleine as a mother figure either, but I am not convinced we will see them as girlfriends, not the least of all because of the manner of their death and... I feel like the show might want to avoid that trap.

We'll see. I know expectations are high, and most people want Claudeleine, and I can understand it... but... 🤷🏽‍♀️

What if I just become an annoying ADHD money blogger sometimes

If you have problems saving money (especially emergency savings money) because you always spend it on too many impulse purchases, or take money out of your savings to cover your fun money:

you need to open a savings account with a new bank. The more impulsive you are, the more I recommend a small credit union or online only bank, or a really local bank. Someone whose online fund transfers to other banks takes three whole business days, so you literally can't just instant transfer money from savings to your checking account to spur of the moment buy things. If you're afraid this defeats the point of an emergency savings fund in the case of, well, an emergency, set up a small checking account with a minimal amount at this bank too, and just set aside the debit card somewhere you won't frequently use because it won't have much money until you pull it from emergency savings and put it in the checking account.

Look for one with a high APY relative to having basically no deposit minimum (mine is like 3%) and no minimum deposit or monthly fees. The APY is basically when bank sometimes pays you money for not spending money. It will be like, cents at first. Change in the sofa cushions. But over time, it will be more. Don't worry about it. It's just surprise money for later. Not a lot, mind you. But you're a competitive winner and every cent they give you FREE is a success to zap your brain with dopamine. (Eventually if you have enough money you can do this by like, investing in shit or buying CDs and they just give you MORE MONEY. BUT!!! BABY STEPS.)

This is crucial: if you have some kind of direct deposit paycheck set up, see if you can SPLIT the direct deposit between multiple accounts. The company my job uses to pay people allows us to choose between depositing a fixed dollar amount to certain accounts (with "remainder of paycheck balance" being automatic for one account), OR depositing a percentage of my paycheck to certain accounts. (Percents of a paycheck tend to be higher to start). If you don't get paid this way, figure out a good date to set a recurring transfer from your checking to your savings for an amount so it won't sit in your spendy account long. The goal is to pretend like you just actually never had the savings money in that paycheck. Poof. Gone. Disappeared. It got saved before you became aware of the money.

Feel free to start with a small amount. It can be $5 or whatever. Once you start doing this for a few paychecks look at your money. If you're not genuinely struggling to stay afloat after 2-3 months and are still comfortable, try increasing the number a little. Repeat as needed.

Now you've saved money. 🎉

This is genuinely how I managed to save money more consistently than anything else I've ever tried. Savings money goes in the secret money account. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Incredibly silly but it works.

Proximus Caesar, Bunker, and Flood Theory? Kinda????

I've been trying to understand the layout of Proximus Caesar's kingdom, and I just wanna share what I found while I did, so here are some random thoughts. Maybe a theory? And some rambling and me getting confused as to what I'm looking at. Let's grab our tinfoil hats and let's gooooooo!

First off, here is my mini theory. I never really noticed this thing circled in red in the corner until recently. It looks manmade. Aaaand it looks like it's moving? I can't tell if it's stationary and the camera is moving, or it's moving open like a....door?

As in this door? I'm honestly not 100% sure. But it looks like this scene is when Proximus is entering this underground place for the first time after finally getting it open, and he has his two buddies backing him up.

And in the trailer, I think Proximus is shouting "PULL!" And we see a shot of apes pulling at something heavy with chains. Maybe they are trying to open this door? And maybe this is also why he is taking some apes as slaves? To do all this pulling?

And I have no idea what that door leads to. Bunker where humans live? An abandoned weapons depot?

Now the reason why I think it could be a bunker with humans, and I acknowledge this is DEFINITELY a stretch, is because during the shot where I think it's a door opening and he's entering this underground place for the first time, we hear Proximus say "Bend for your king." And well, he'd only say that to people aka humans?

And I totally get it's a stretch, I know, but a lot of the dialogue in the trailers we've gotten so far is matched with scenes in a way that hint at what the story could be about. But like I said, a stretch. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Plus, we know for sure Proximus is fascinated by human tech, (airplanes, cellphones) and he wants to LEARN. And I don't think he can access and understand this tech by himself. He'll need some smart humans. Sure, maybe he only wants one human and that's why he is hunting Mae. But why not enslave multiple intelligent humans and force them to teach you?

Something else to talk about. This explosion is destroying the wall that is right next to the ocean. This means the entire place will be flooded, which will be like the Flood from Noah's Ark.

And IF the big door is open while all that water is rushing in, they're all gonna be sucked into that hole in the ground, and let's just hope that Noa, Mae, and everyone knows how to swim, because it's about to get really wet here.

Also, can we talk about how that spot is a.... VERY inconvenient place to set up your kingdom? Without that wall, that entire place would be covered in water. That wall looks barely tall enough to keep the water at bay.

Colours in Our Skyy 2 Bad Buddy x A Tale of Thousand Stars ep 2

With this first crossover ep and the whole thing set in Chiang Mai/Pha Pun Dao, I was interested to see whether the colours I had interpreted in Bad Buddy would continue. @respectthepetty has written a great post on the use of lighting in atots, but I didn't pay as much attention to the lighting in this crossover to be able to say whether it's been consistent here too (maybe they will!).

I did notice, however, that the villagers wore a lot of blue and red (although a quick scan of atots reminded me that they wore a lot of those colours in that series too...although weighted more on the blue side).

Hello Toto and sound-booth-guy! (I think he had a name but I couldn't find it again). Also, I think they raided the wardrobe for Aou in Vice Versa for Pat's Chiang Mai clothes - why has he gone from sleeveless shirts in BBS to pocketed vests in OS2?!

Beyond all the blue and red, the other colours featured as well...starting with Pran in an orange shirt, which I said I would talk about in my ep 1 post. I love the idea that the orange might be a reference to Ink and how she entered Pat and Pran's story as a potential faen fatale in ep 4 of BBS. Initially, Pran regarded her cautiously as a love interest for Pat and similarly in Our Skyy 2 Pran is first looked upon warily by Tian as someone suspiciously close to Phupha (the children don't help by saying Pran is Phupha's boyfriend). This leads me back the tent in ep 1, and the orange there could also have been a nod to the faen fatale character - of Wai coming between the couple by being mistaken by Pat for Pran. Anyway, note Pran's yellow socks below! He might have left Pat behind but his love for him is still with him.

Pran's orange could also have been a choice for Aof to create the wonderful parallel with Moonlight Chicken, of Mix's character being witness to the 'baby-gays', alongside Pat's blue striped top. But Tian's olive-green top (and Phupha's camouflage), suggests the conflict and hostility between both couples.

The next day, despite sabotaging Pran's attempts to get Phupha and Tian to make up, Pat is wearing a yellow top, perhaps proclaiming his love for Pran out loud. Pran, despite telling Pat he wanted to come alone and get the signatures without his help, is wearing Pat's colour - a loud proclamation itself. And we soon see that they have exchanged colours again, with Pat wearing Pran's colour close to his under his shorts (@dimplesandfierceeyes pointed out a great little parallel with this to BBS ep 7 here). Note also Pran's yellow socks again - maybe this is the start of them matching their tops and socks 🤭

Jumping back to the night before and the dark green and brown of their tops could symbolise their fight - their stubbornness to not give in to the other becomes an obstacle to their happiness and they go to sleep disgruntled with each other.

But then the next night is a different matter, when they *ahem* test the structural integrity of the hut... Pat's love for Pran makes him always want to help Pran, seen in the yellow of his top, and they end up unified again (shaking the hut) as symbolised by all the teal and mint green (do we include the Nong Nao mask in this? 😄).

The next day, Pran is in his own red, perhaps feeling back to himself again after pulling away from Pat...and Pat is confusedly in the strange 'Aou from Vice Versa' outfit above 🤷🏽‍♀️ (sometimes clothes are just clothes 😏) Later, Pran wears yellow stripes (in front of a yellow lantern) whilst singing about his and Pat's love. Pat's also in stripes and the blue could add to his confidence as the 'engineering top-notch'. The green, however, is quite neutral - a 'primary' green, neither good (lime, mint, or teal) nor bad (forest/olive), and maybe this alludes to the draw he eventually has with Phupha and that the outcome of their drinking was neither good nor bad.

Incidentally, I liked that Pat woke up on a bed of red, initially thinking he was with Pran, and on top of another mat that looks yellow and blue, and was covered by a blanket in his own blue. With the amount he loves Pran, it's not hard to see that he wouldn't have cheated on him, even blind drunk (the same maybe could be said for Phupha with Tian).

It was interesting that Phupha and Tian also wore teal whilst Pat and Pran were trying to get them back together...and they might have succeeded if it hadn't have been for the letter - perhaps Tian's olive green pants and Phupha's camouflage allude to this...or, going back to @respectthepetty's interpretation of lighting, the fact that the lighting is quite cold here could show that the night would not end well for them.

And so on to the brown on Yod and Kampung - perhaps showing Phupha yielding to Pat's challenge, and Pran yielding to Tian's desire to walk to Pha Pun Dao. It's a nice touch that it looks like Yod has a dark blue shirt over the top of his brown (whilst with Pat) and Kampung has the red jersey (whilst with Pran).

I learned a bit about metal subtypes because I was bored and while Eddie likes trash metal and they don’t generally wear makeup and nail polish. I can see reader putting on eye makeup and nail polish on him for funsies. He complains the entire time but in reality he LOVES the attention and care you put into it, how close you are to him and gentle. How you have to hover over, what if you accidentally tripped and fell on top of him? Oops how’d that happen 🤷🏽‍♀️

i, personally, would hire myself as a stylist for the band. none of them asked me. none of them even wanted me. but i'm blowing the lead guitarist and have an abundance of halloween accessories so they can't get rid of me.

lmao honestly tho he would like the attention, they all would. hyping them up before gigs, making them look like their heroes, they would eat it up.

convincing eddie to wear a button up shirt for a gig would be a hard sell. but you have a vision, and it's one of naked chests and heavy chains and pure, hot, gruesome sex. so you wrestle him into it and only close less than half the buttons, showing off his "cool tatties" god i cringe at him sometimes and slapping on a chain (with your name on it) to go with his signature guitar pick.

if that didn't knock everyone in the front row up, the way you ratted his hair into a perfect mess definitely did.

nail polish he definitely digs. he's horrible at doing it himself because he has zero patience, but he loves letting you do it because "idk man it's just magic how you get it to work" (your trick is to use acrylic paint and quick dry clear coat so he doesn't have to wait around. this is also my trick bc i am also not patient.) also likes the excuse to hold your hand and pet your hair and give you very sloppy, intrusive neck kisses while he has you close.

eyeliner and other makeup however? he's not into it. don't let the hair fool you - he's a manly man. plus he's very energetic, and he gets super sweaty during gigs, and he doesn't want any of those cancerous chemicals getting into his eyes ("eddie you smoke fucking cigarettes don't talk to me about 'cancerous chemicals' ")

the one time you convinced him to let you put eyeliner on him he hated it. pouted the whole time, flinched when the pencil got close to his eye, took one look in the mirror and made you remove it. the only reason he even agreed to let you do it was because you sat on his lap while you did.

no matter how many times you tell him it's tacky, eddie wears t-shirts for his own band while performing. he actually does it just to annoy you now. for one gig he convinced the entire band to wear their t-shirts on stage and could not stop laughing during the set at how pissed you looked. he thinks you're so CUTE when you're peeved at him <3

speaking of t-shirts, you love to make homemade ones for him. you punk them out, spray painting stenciled letters with bleach and making strategic cuts that you mend together with safety pins. his favorite shirts are the one you made that says "security" across the front (a-la hayley williams of paramore) and the one that says "groupie". even when he's dressing the part, he's gotta be a goof.

eddie bitches constantly about your wardrobe direction but honestly he loves when you make a fuss over him. most of his complaints are playful, just to tug at your strings a little bit.

the one thing you don't let him do is perform completely shirtless. the groupies are already vicious and, despite eddie only having eyes for you (he has literally walked past groupies trying to flirt with him in order to get to you, man's whipped), you want to keep some of him for yourself. (he kind of prefers it anyway, since he's actually pretty self conscious of his body. he's still got a lil baby fat around his stomach that he doesn't like anyone but you to see.)

So like, duh, Moon and I have like... constant headcannons for like, every single person ever in the Shazam movies. And I did plan to write/list 'em out and post at some point. But this one is my biggest one, so I think it deserves its own post🤷🏽‍♀️.

Anyone who's seen just either one of the movies is pretty aware of that... weird little (but noticeable) disconnect between Asher Angel's Billy Batson and Zachary Levi's Shazam. Asher is a damn good Billy, while Zachary... he's good at being Shazam and acting like a kid who doesn't know what he's doing (which is the overall plot, ofc), but I just can't/don't believe him to be Asher's Billy, if that makes sense (??).

So, while yes, this is a little jarring for viewers, if you're anything like me, you know it's kind of not the end of the world and can be bypassed/looked over. Fixed, even, if had been given the proper attention to do such. And what better way to do that than through some good ol' writer brain🤷🏽‍♀️?

My in-media headcanon for why Billy acts so differently in his super-powered adult form is because he simply just becomes heaps more confident. He knows he's invincible to most things, he's got all these different and god-like powers and abilities, etcetc... So natrually, with those things comes an overwhelming and amazing sense of security, right? Therefore, leading to a surging amount of both confidence/ego and recklessness that you might not see come from some vulnerable, hard-knock-life-stricken, defensive kid.

It also gives him more freedom to come out of his shell (almost forces him to, really), hence why it becomes so much easier for him to talk to/interact with others while he's in his adult form. He almost wants to, because of that classic teenage boy need to show off (for the ladiesss😼🫶🏽⚡️). He gains the chance to actually be a kid, frfr, because he had to grow up and learn to care for himself so soon. Because, hell, it's not like he knew if his powers were a privilege he was gonna get to keep🤷🏽‍♀️. Gotta make the most of it.

Not to mention, poor boy has probably felt all alone and helpless all his life. Constantly having to do things on his own, constantly worried about how he's gonna get by and/or where he's gonna end up next. These abilities are like a free "out", if ykwim. He can essentially do whatever he wants, go wherever he wants now that he can just fly off somewhere...

I'd be eager to run around and do the most over the top shit, too, if it had been me. As Freddy once said, "I'd kill to have what you have...".

Plus, I mean, he is a teenager. A teenage boy, at that. I'm pretty sure no matter how hard and tall you've set up your shell, at the end of the day, if you randomly got superpowers n shit, you'd act a little bit out of normal character, too. Especially if your "normal character" are/is a bunch of walls n shit you've built up to protect yourself from the things that, you now no longer have to, because again... SUPERPOWERS!!

So, to try and wrap this all up, I, personally, am one to believe there's nothing a fanfic or a headcanon can't fix, hence... this lmao. And that's pretty much my way to try and fix/make sense of that disconnect between acting styles so I can properly hyperfixate in peace lmfao. And hopefully, now that you've seen this, you can, too :).

It's towards the middle of May, but let's talk Fall/Winter wear because it's never too late to get a jump start on things!

Some people shop for cozy things all year long because they're the types to sit around in areas where the air conditioner is blasting or they're someone who gets excited for Christmas in July --

Or, they're somebody like me who lives in the Northeast and by the end of July we've already got Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice flooding our craft stores and so on. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Whatever the case may be, it's never too late to work on some cozy things. My go to have always been hats -- why? Because they were the first things I ever learned to crochet when I was learning how to crochet.

There are two styles of hats that seem to be popular, but of course there is space for variations of them. One seems to be crocheting in the round to give you a beanie styled hat and the other gives off that knitted look and is crocheted straight and then seamed/shaped after you've gotten all the rows in.

Those are my favorite style hats and what you can see in the above pictures. In previous years I've worked with bulky yarn to make these sorts of hats, but lately I like stocking up on my weight 4 yarn and holding two strands of that weight yarn to create my own bulky yarn. Why? I can get different color variations and styles if I want to, but also because I work more with making Amigurumi and not wearables -- meaning I've always got a bunch of weight 4 yarns on hand.

All my hats I make in adult sizes, but you can find video tutorials or even blogs/websites that offer you all the information you'll need on creating hats of all sizes.

I usually use between an 8mm or 9mm crochet hook, a bulky style yarn (or I use two weight 4 yarns held together as I crochet), I chain between 30 to 32 chains and then I crochet for about 33/34 rows of HDC (half-double crochet) stitches before I seam up the hat. I also like to make sure I end my hat on the opposite end of where the yarn tail hangs from when I made the first stitch in my foundation chain. That way when I seam up the hat I can cinch the top and then tie two to three knots with the yarn tail that hangs from where I started.

And sometimes I like to go further by adding a pompom and/or a label. It's really entirely up to you or a customer if you're making hats that are available for purchase.

A tip to offer if you plan on selling is to always have some neutral colors available. People always like blacks, browns, whites, and grays because they go with everything they own or because busy colors could be distracting to them or others in their social circles. Don't be afraid to add in some light pinks or even light blues, there's a whole crowd out there that's into those pastel colors.

And don't forget the beanie crowd. I did mention I do make these style hats as well. They are super quick to whip up, especially if you're using bulky yarn.

I tend to like to use a weight 5 yarn to make beanies, but I've been known to make a few bulky ones for the winter. I also know cotton yarn or a cotton blend is a great option if you're making a beanie for the summer time.

And last, but not least -- sets. Some people like a good hat and scarf set whether for themselves, their loved ones, or to purchase as a gift.

This hat and scarf set was made with two different brands of yarn. They both are a light gray, but one had strips of metallic in it to make it glisten/sparkle a bit and the shade of gray was not exactly the same as the other. It started out as just being enough for a hat, but then I realized I had some more yarn on hand and decided to make a matching scarf. I also had one pompom left so I attached it to this hat and then used one of the labels I had to attach to what is the front of the scarf.

The possibilities are endless and different stitches will give you different results. Also, if you use a smaller weight yarn and double it up the color combinations are endless.

I always like to work with hdc when making things you can wear because the holes you find in crochet are much smaller and it feels like a tighter stitch using that stitch. At the same time if you want things to have more of a flow or you want that lacey type of feel you can use something like DC (Double Crochet).

Anyway, that's enough hat talk for right now. Christmas in July is right around the corner and if you're from the Northeast like I am or you're somewhere out there in the world that feels cold air during parts of the year if not most of the year, you might want to get a jump start on making things as holiday gifts, for yourself, or for your craft shows/small businesses.

Hi, the ending of episode 5 of season 2 made me think about your fic.

The chapter from Simon's POV when he ask "can you kiss me before we come back to not touching each other?"

The situation is different but the feelings seems similar for Simon. They are not together yet. He decided to go to the police and they both don't know what will happen to them. He wants Wille so much and at the same time it may be the last time they are with each other like that. When he'll report about August everything may change. The aftermath can tear them apart again.

This comment is A LOT, like so much, so THANK YOU. I am currently buzzing with a weird sense of adrenaline and just a lot of emotions over it. I haven't posted anything about Season 2 yet; still just living in my rewatching, processing, thinking bubble 🫀 That being said, this is just so much, I needed to reply before I go back to said bubble 🫀🫀 I don't feel ready for a proper analysis, so I shall just leave you with some initial thoughts/ramblings about this scene. (And how truly fitting that my first Season 2 post will be this one 😂)!

When I was writing the fic, I wanted to try and capture how I thought they would be feeling in Season 2. Watching this Season was honestly a completely different experience for me because of writing this fic. It felt like I knew them differently then I did before, I felt like I understood why they were doing what they were doing in a different way; it has been a very interesting, weird and very much still on going experience. I will no doubt have lots more thought about this in the future too 😂

I really wanted to capture Simons longing, his understanding that nothing had really changed, and his choice to allow himself a possible final moment with Wille; it's depiction in this season was so beautiful, and perfect and breathtaking!!! I am honored and blown away that something I wrote felt similar to Simons feelings in this season for you, and for it to be this part; I just.... it is so much, so THANK YOU 🫀🫀🫀

I could talk about this season and scene forever (and probably will), so since your ask references Simon, I will try to talk about this scene from his perspective. Omar was next level this Season (as was Edvin) like I didn't think they could get better, and yet, somehow they did 🤷🏽‍♀️

This scene (and everything leading up to it) is PERFECTION to me 🫀 At this point, Simon has not decided he is willing to be a secret; for him, this really might be the end, and yet, this time, he knows that going in and he chooses to allow himself this moment, this experience, this memory.

Something that I think is very significant about this final scene is how this episode leads up to it; for now I will just discuss the initial scene. Simon is burying his face in Willes sweater, he is smelling him, remembering their kiss, delighting in Wille, yearning for Wille. He bites his lip, he places the sweater in his lap, he looks at the fish and then back to the sweater and then at himself in the mirror. Simon wants Wille, he longs for him and yet, nothing has changed. Throughout this episode we see him struggling with himself over his desire for Wille; every scene Simon is experiencing an almost completely different set of emotions in regards to Wille, culminating in this final perfect scene.

Simon says he is going to go to the police and Wille just disappears; Simon asks him if he is mad at him and receives no response. Simon goes to see Wille, having no idea what to expect. He doesn't know if Wille is going to try to stop him, if they are going to fight, if Wille thinks Simon is trying to hurt him (as he says to Wille later); Wille apologizes and invites him in. The significance of Wille inviting Simon in to his room, and closing the door, while people are walking past is just everything 🫀

Wille tells Simon exactly how he is feeling, which is what Simon asked of him in Ep 1. Wille isn't hurt, he isn't trying to stop Simon, he is in this with Simon and he is honest about being scared. This conversation is so beautiful; the honesty, the fear, the love. It is so apparent how much they don't want to hurt each other, and feel like they keep doing just that.

Wille reaches out, he seeks comfort in Simon, while still asking what Simon wants, no longer assuming that Simon will want the same things he wants. It is the way Simon strokes Willes hand, the way that they fall into the hug; as if they are seeking reassurance and comfort, and then it becomes tighter as they realize it might be the last one. It is in the way Simons eyes open, as Wille kisses his neck; Simon is done fighting his desires. He is going to allow himself this indulgence, this union, this moment of love, before they go separately into the unknown.

The way that Simon looks as if he is almost in pain when he kisses Wille this season says everything. You can tell how much Simon misses Wille, how much he wants Wille, how much he loves Wille and yet he knows where they stand; nothing has changed.

They break apart and he studies Wille; Simon knows this might be the last time, and in this moment, nothing else matters except for Wille and he can see that Wille wants this too. Simon has survived the last few months(?) with fish and memories and a song and a sweater; he no longer can resist the boy in his arms. The inhale says it all; Simon wants this more than anything and he is tired of fighting against his longing.

The way that Simon melts into the kiss at first. It's coming home, it's being loved, it's a reminder of what they have and yet, it is also a reminder of what they could be about to lose; it becomes an almost desperate need for each other. It is no longer about remembering, it is no longer gentle and soft, it is pure need and desire, and the release of pent up yearning; it is the knowledge that this might be all they will have and the conviction that it will have to be enough.

It's the hands pulling Wille closer, it's the unbroken kiss, it's the annoyance at having to break the kiss to take off their shirts, it's the hands everywhere, it's the way Simon devours Wille. Simon has kept his distance, he has tried to protect himself, he has done what he thought was necessary. Now, finally he is allowing himself to give into his desire and have this time with Wille, even if it is all they have.

And then his delighted little giggle as he stares at Wille and starts to take off his pants says everything else; in this moment, they are free. Nothing matters except for Wille and Simon and their love.

Omg that new clip of Ricky and Gina dancing looks like a rehearsal. So that means Ricky must be hans since Anna and hans have a dance together in frozen play. I actually listened to "love is an open door" and I noticed it kinda parallel rina cause Anna and hans also singing how they got each other like no one else in that song.

So this is the moment I believe you're talking about😊:

It's definitely a rehearsal considering the set design and the fact that the door behind them has the Frozen snowflakes. Both Ricky and Gina are also wearing comfortable clothes, like the kind you would wear during dance rehearsals🤔. I would honestly love it if Ricky ends up playing Hans b/c I think it would allow him some range as a performer. We've seen him play the lead twice before now, but never a villain-like role. I think it would be pretty cool to see him as a lead, but this time as the villain as well. 😁 I think Ricky could have a lot of fun with it considering it's something he's never really done before. This moment reminds me a little bit of when Anna first walks out of the castle and immediately bumps into Hans and he catches her. We still don't know which role Ricky will end up playing, but it's definitely either Kristoff or Hans. To be clear, I definitely don't think Ricky is exactly like Hans in terms of Gina's love life, but I get the point ur making about the lyrics of the song. Like Anna with Hans, Gina also fell for Ricky pretty soon after meeting him. So in the context of "Love is an Open Door," Anna actually means what she sings, while Hans does not.

There is a rumor tho, that EJ may fill in for whoever plays Hans in 3.04/3.05 (not sure) and he may end up singing this duet with Gina. Funnily enough, the lyrical content in the context that they would be singing it would actually ring true. Just like Anna with Kristoff, it took Gina a lot longer to get to know EJ. And Gina already knows who EJ truly is, and vice versa (unlike Anna/Hans). No idea if that's the cover song Matt and Sofia have this season, but if it is, I think it would be a really cute and sweet moment for EJ and Gina (and more foreshadowing for them falling in love. I'm just saying🤷🏽‍♀️)

I haven't really experimented with being called boy/boi, so I'm not too sure how I feel about it, but I don't think I'd have the same problem as I have with "girl"/"woman", I feel like those are extra uncomfortable to me, because it's like looking at me and dismissing my identity and setting me right back to the "default" assigned to me, that's just not me. And like I get people get confused, because I call myself girl sometimes if it fits the bit, but I want them to understand it's the same way I call myself little man if it fits the bit. The difference here is that I understand where I'm coming from and my identity, and I'm not saying this to you specifically, I think you're lovely and I think you understand ♥️, I'm just trying to put my whole deal into words I guess.

So I think a safe bet is not going for explicitly gendered terms, and that doesn't necessarily involve feminine/masculine terms because I don't think those are gendered, like pretty, gorgeous, handsome etc , so I'm cool with all of those, but it's really nice when people mix it up, like when people use pronouns other than - she - for me
