Rant/ Spoilers for Pokémon SV DLC: The Teal Mask!! I’ll also add a Sona drawing of my Legends AU and the Paldea one below! I know the style is different. This is my inconsistent style arc LMAO 🫶
Tumblr media
Just quick description of why I have 2 Sona Designs! So the first one is the one everyone has seen on this account which is the one that Simps for Adaman and gets taken to Hisui. The other, is the Paldea/Present Storyline (and she simps for Perrin). They both have almost the same backstory (with some minor timeline changes) but one progresses like normal in life while the other gets stuck in the past in the end.
I drew my Typhlosion that way because I thought it would be a cool idea for it to evolve in Sinnoh/ The Distortion World as my Sona somewhat takes over the role of Dawn/Lucas for the Platnuim storyline! And since Hisui and Sinnoh are the same and the Dex entry for Hisuian Typhlosion is:
“…I believe its form has been influenced by the energy of the sacred mountain towering at Hisui’s center.”
And would you look at that? The sacred mountain is Mt. coronet
So since Sinnoh is the Hisui region, it could be cool that the distortion world caused the a mutation of its dormant Hisuian genes to influence its Johtoian/modern day evolution.
- In the distortion world, time doesn’t flow properly and or it doesn’t follow the laws of physics so that could also be a cool loop hole. I get that it wouldn’t make sense for a Pokémon to evolve if time doesn’t flow, but in game, an eevee could still evolve into an umbreon or espeon so I’ll take it LMAO
So it can learn Inferno Parade and some Ghost type moves and it’s Tera Type is Ghost, hehe!
Anyways I’m rambling so move on!
Okay, so all of you know that I’m a fan of Legends Arceus so you can tell that I’m just going to mainly gush over the Perrin Storyline. I think that’s pretty much a given but just know its just me giving a play by play and my reactions so this might not be interesting!
Spoilers, officially starts here!
Okay so seeing Perrin for the first time in game, I literally screamed. Like hello?? You can’t blame me like seriously. She’s kinda my way for coping with the lack of Adaman content and Legends Content but she’s also so prettyyyyyy. So when Kieran literally started saying like, “I’ll meet you there” to progress the main story, I ran up to her trying to progress her story first before anything.
God, they did her justice when they translated her from the official art to the game! I wish to see Adaman in SV rendering style gahhh!!
- I do wish they explained why Hisuian Pokémon are around and not extinct, but that might just be like, “some were bred out of existence”, “they’re rare”, or something of the sort. Either way, due to them bringing back Hisuian Pokémon, im sure they’re might be an explanation in the future!
- I do also wish she explained why she had a Hisuian Growlith in the first place, or our player character mentions “what Pokémon is that?” Or something cause I would assume that Hisuian Variants are rare. Then again, it could be a thing that they talked about them in class. After all, Professor Laventon was on screen in Raifort’s Board
- But Perrin having Growlith just could be a hint that Adaman and Irida got together because she does give you her second Growlith at the end of her story. You know, cause one of the Pearl Clan’s nobles being Arcanine and the whole Colbat Coastline story in Arceus.
- It could mean Adaman and Irida got together, Their clans Merged and or disbanded, or it could literally just be a reference that pokemon did and I’m reading too much into it LMAO
Anyways! As someone who doesn’t do the Dex in Pokémon games, you can imagine me when I heard Perrin mention the requirement of 150 Pokémon for the Kitakami dex. I got like weird Legends Deja-vu and started “sobbing” to my friend, @deflatedrock, over the fact that I have to do the Dex for DLC.
- Also got Deja-vu over the fact that she called me “Kiddo” (yes, I was a Sans simp in my early days…)
- As someone who is not a minor I was like “Perrin please!! I’m not a kid!!” But yes, i understand that the protags in these games are all kids HAHA
- I just imagine my Sona (on the right) just trying to say how she’s not a kid with slight annoyance and embarrassment.
But Did I do it? Yes I got 150 Pokémon under 24 hours, what of it? And that was also including the story and the fact that was under leveled at the beginning of it LMAO
Tumblr media
Imagine me screaming when the cutscene of her starts when she challenges me. I love the smile she has and it makes me wish that the switch was a more powerful console! Also Leafeon being her Second pokemon absolutely made me smile and it was super adorable the fact that she was taking pictures of us whenever she battled! Like :((((((((
The story starts after I beat her and she accepts me on taking on the job of helping snap a picture of a hard to find pokemon. I absolutely, am giggling over the “Partner” title I received from her. I was over the moon, on cloud nine LMAO !!
If you saw the direct/played the game, she wants to take a picture of Ursaluna with a unique marking on it’s head and the vague Hisui mentions throughout the story absolutely made me lose my shit. Small bits and pieces that Ursalunas used to be common back in the day or how mentions about her homeland.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Small mentions of Hisui/ Legends make me think of a high possibility of another Legends game could be in the future.
- I am hoping Johto but I do say it would be reasonable for it to be Unova or Kalos. But main reason I want it to be Johto is due to me never playing BW/BW2 or XY. I do plan to play them but the Grind for Unova is rough since DS game and XY i havent gotten the motivation to buy it and play it on 3DS (i know excuses HAHA)
- But I do hope that every region eventually gets its own Legends remake but with actual effort put into it like how Legends did. Legends with it’s music that is a call back to the Diamond, Pearl and Platinum games and a unique take on a pokemon game with Dex being the main priority rather than battles made it that much enjoyable. I do wish they didn’t put out BDSP and focused more time into Legends rather than releasing both.
- obviously not every region needs it, but I would be cool to live through the war or something that was mentioned in Kalos, or live through the events during the Sprout Tower. (I don’t know anything about Unova but *insert something a Unova fan wants from a Unova Legends game*)
But Im rambling so let us continue!
We make our way to the Timeless Woods, the location where the Ursaluna is often spotted and at the time, I didn’t really think much of it. I just thought, “Oh cute! ‘Timeless’ because this story is Hisui coded with Perrin and Ursaluna!”
But love the cute interaction moments:
- Whenever Perrin spoke to the polliwhirl and just calling it a “cutie pie” and speaking to it like anyone would do with their pet. Should’ve been me.
- Her getting embarrassed that the player might’ve tuned in with her pet names to the wild pokemon
- The fact that we saved her from a wild pokemon that came out of nowhere
- The cute camp setup! I will eventually draw her and my Sona sleeping in the tent together as we wait for the fog
- or just any time she would take a photo of us and calling us heroic and such
But before anything Ursaluna related, we must survey the area to see the different species living here. So I go up to her and click “A” to progress the story and we wait for the fog to come in at night…
I didn’t expect much going into it. Literally just thought, Pokémon snap but in SV. Once the survey starts and we officially load in im standing in the woods. The first note plays in the background and I am stunned. My eyes start to well up as the music continues. Heartwoods plays in the background and I had to put down my switch for a moment. I let out an excited squeal as I couldn’t help but just say “oh my god, stop…” with a chuckle. I sat there on my bed just listening to it and letting everything sink in. I couldn’t help but imagine the idea of my Sona possibly getting Deja-vu or her tearing up alongside me.
I stayed in the woods longer than I should have. Taking my sweet time snapping photos of the Pokémon in the area, even though it won’t even matter how good they were as long as the Pokémon were recognizable. I realized I never even screen-recorded anything during this part of the game. I was too immersed to even remember to do that. Perhaps it’s a biased towards Legends but this by far was one of my favorite DLC storylines in a Pokémon game at this point.
But of course, I wanted to progress in the story so I took the photo of the Duskull, completing the side quest. I was absolutely smiling and tearing up over this and my brain making the connection “Eterna” and “Timeless”, the names of the two areas that had this song placed in. Man, this just made me so happy.
Progressing, we learn about Perrin’s creativity problems with her being a burnt out prodigy and all. Focusing on how others want it and how she could get the most points from judges rather than what she thinks looks good.
Telling her that we take photos how we want the Pokémon to turn out makes her think and gets back into her usual mood.
- Her arc in this is great. It’s relatable and I think expands her character her more. I was afraid that she would be just a pretty face that Pokemon won’t do much with other than take photos and be a Legends homage.
We eventually hear stomping off in the Distance that interrupts the moment. We come to the conclusion that it is the Blood-moon Beast and head towards said direction and can I say, THIS GUY LOOKS FUCKING SICK!!
Tumblr media
First off I love the fact that it looks like a very old Ursaluna as that as lived through the years and seen the world change along side it. The fact that is stands on 2 rather than 4 legs, the Fur being more Ursaring colored and whatever the gray stuff is growing around it? Perhaps more gray fur to represent it’a age?
I just absolutely love how it looks, I was expecting a regular Ursaluna with a red moon instead of the yellow one it has but this absolutely blew me away. It reminds me of the Crystal Onix that was in the anime! A cool super rare variant that looks like that due to the conditions it was in.
- Don’t count this Ursaluna as a regional variant until it’s confirmed that it is.
I also noticed how it didn’t seem to attack either of us until Perrin accidentally snapped a photo with auto flash. It more or less attacked us by us startling it than Anything.
AND DONT GET ME STARTED WITH THE MUSIC!!!
Like gahhhh!! Like there’s no such thing as a Alpha Pokémon in Present day Pokémon but using the alpha theme to express the tension and idea that this is no ordinary Ursaluna is so good !!
And when you get into the battle with it- LIKE OMG!! The Wild Pokémon battle music used for this just made me scream. And it’s blood moon move One-shorting some of my Pokémon, I was terrified of losing LMAO
- I loved the occasional times that Perrin motives you and cheers you on, I just enjoy the small cutscenes that’s main/ significant characters do that!
But we catch the Ursaluna and the main story part ends. I do enjoy the cute mentions of her taking photos of us while we battled and how they’re her favorite. She wants me fr fr.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She talks about needing to develop them right away and tells us a family saying and We eventually decided to meet back at Mossui.
Again, the call backs/references to Adaman and her being a descendant of the Diamond Clan is just so good! As you can assume, I was just screaming like “Adaman Reference!” And bouncing off the walls. I was at an all time high at this point.
Tumblr media
As an Adaman and Legends fan, I was being fed!! With these small details. She also mentioned her dad and how he used the Shaymin Tent but im not sure if we’ll ever see her father. And if he were to be shown, don’t be surprised if I start simping for him too.
- Also can we mention the pose she does whenever she is idol sometimes? The fact that she puts her hand in her pockets like Adaman? Like I can’t be reading too much into it, that’s clearly a Adaman reference, right? IDK IM HAPPY ABOUT THIS
But the rest of the dialogue is her completing her arc of taking photos of how she wants it and now focusing on perfection and the photography standards. I also think it’s cute that she didn’t know the player’s name until now and does a endearing reintroduction with pride. She then gives you a Hisuian Growlith that enjoys battling and talks about how Growliths “like these” tend to come in pairs but even when separated they’re paths will surely cross again. She just confessed to me guys, don’t worry you’re all invited to our wedding, not delusional I swear.
-but guess the Growliths are still around but not often seen based on how she’s referring to them idk
But she leaves and that’s pretty much the end of the story! I do hope we see her again in either a different title or in the next wave but I don’t see her being in the next one. If I remember correctly, it will take place in Blueberry Academy and it’s in the middle of the ocean or something LMAO
Okay but overall: 10/10 experience for the Perrin Storyline!
I am super easy to please but I think it’s such a good story! Did wish it was longer or we had the opportunity to have her stay and have her have like a few more small quests/surveys like that are photo related after the main story? Kinda like how Mai was where you just had to catch Pokémon during the Massive Mass Outbreaks DLC.
My brain is starting to power down but I do wish for Pokémon to do more stories where you get cool unique Pokémon variants that are not shown. Again I hope it’s not a region variant for Ursaluna cause that would make it a whole lot cooler. He’s definitely going on my team.
Im very satisfied with the DLC and i hope we can get more Legends Content in the future. RIP Ingo, Unova Legends could be a good way to some how bring him back is all I’m saying *wink wink nudge nudge*
If you made it this far, thanks! You should comment your thoughts just saying if not then that’s cool too I’m just here to let me brainrot juices out!

AU with Munakata taking his prodigy child Fushimi to this school for the gifted and talented while Iwafune takes his own prodigy child Hisui there. I sense competition.
Between the parents anyway, I bet Fushimi at least doesn’t even care XD Imagine this in like an AU where there aren’t any Kings but Iwafune was some kind of well known figure, like maybe he was a government official in the department where Munakata is works and so Munakata is aware of who he is. After some tragedy happened Iwafune was used as a scapegoat and it made him disillusioned with the whole thing so he retired to a private life. The incident in question had a body count and Iwafune takes in an orphaned child, deciding to raise the kid instead of working for a system that doesn’t help the people and is too bound by rules and bureaucrats to make any difference.
Meanwhile Munakata takes over this department, he’s young and untested and it’s assumed he’s supposed to just be like a puppet for the old guard but instead he purges the entire place and reforms it from the ground up with his own people. He also ends up taking in little Fushimi after some incident where Niki is arrested and Munakata becomes aware of this talented child that’s not being nurtured as he should be. Munakata is of course super excited to be a parent, he’s constantly bragging about his splendid child and decides to enroll Fushimi into a school where his talents can flourish properly.
When he arrives for orientation with Fushimi in tow who should he run into but Iwafune with his own child, even though Iwafune’s taken on a new name Munakata immediately recognizes him and greets him as ‘Ootori Seigo.’ Iwafune is pretty unimpressed with Munakata’s reforms in his old department, he thinks that Munakata is still an idealistic youngster who hasn’t opened his eyes to the real world yet. Munakata meanwhile finds the current Iwafune someone who’s given up on ideals and who thinks that one shouldn’t strive for better things, he finds Iwafune’s attitude towards him irritating and condescending…and so of course while he doesn’t say that Saruhiko should be sure to out-perform Nagare he’s really kinda hoping it happens.
So then after this imagine Munakata and Iwafune having this low key rivalry every time they go to any school function, because Munakata can’t resist pointing out that his child got the highest grades in the class again and Iwafune counters that it looks like that was only cumulative and Hisui beat Fushimi in a few key areas, must be a parenting flaw. Meanwhile as the two of them snipe back and forth Fushimi and Hisui are hanging out quietly coloring or something, like neither one entirely cares about this and they’ve just agreed that parents are weird and to leave it at that. Iwafune I feel like would be more chill about it than Munakata too for that matter, like he enjoys when Hisui beats Fushimi more because it pisses off Munakata than anything else and he likes watching Munakata get pulled off his high horse. Munakata is more invested in showing that his way of raising a child is best and that his Fushimi-kun is superior in general, though I think he’d also be careful that Fushimi doesn’t become too aware of the rivalry because he doesn’t want Fushimi to think Munakata will be disappointed or care about him less if he isn’t perfect.

I'm kinda curious to see how Candice might play into it. The fact that she guards Snowpoint Temple makes me headcanon her as being Pearl Clan (even though her most likely ancestor is ex-Diamond Clan) so she very well might learn the truth early on.
Snowpoint temple was guarded by a Pearl clans person, but it was also the place where you follow/battle Sabi who was a Diamond warden. The Diamond Clan, like the Pearl Clan, would still exist in some form in modern day Sinnoh. They wouldn’t by quite as spread out across the regions as the Pearl clan has become, and they would be much more involved in modern advancement both technologically and culturally. Such as leading gyms like in Candices case. And they would have become much closer to the Pearl clan over century’s due to the huge influx of more settlers.
Most modern folks who don’t know the history, assume that there was only one big clan that immigrated to hisui long before Jubilife Villages founding. Anyone descended from the clans will be quick to correct them that there are two and there had been a long lasting animosity between them. Now-a-days that rivalry is much more friendly and there is allot of overlapping families now.
When the lil old Pearl granny’s start phoning others about the return of Lady Sneaseler they would also call up the Diamond clan members as well since they’ve become so close. Candice herself would be called personally since she’s in such a high position in the league. She’s fully aware of the significance of Lady Sneaseler’s return but still be worried about if these people are taking care of her at first. Then when it becomes clearer and clearer that the Noble is fine and is clearly attached to these humans she’s fully on their side and calls on Cynthia to chill.
Oh! If they do end up that far north they could end up staying the little haunted house on route 217. The place where the ghost gives you the ghost-tag? I like to think that was the same Froslass from that quest Akari did in the Icelands to find that old journal.

I feel as though that if Emmet were to also get immortality in the present there has to be some conditions. you cannot have two very active Immortals that would literally break the world. And Ingo has been an individual for three thousand years I cannot fathom him with a constant companion as a human. I cannot think of it.
So I proposed two ideas
1)
emmet gets sent to another parallel reality exactly when Indo started his journey in the past. do not worry, emmet gets to keep all of his memories and he has a phone line to Ingo the whole time. Either Time is Progressing normally on both sides so they are always dealing with different issues at the same time (Where ingo has to stretch his mind really far back to figure out the solution to problemshe's long since done) or it's rapid 300 year overs the 3 thousand years that emmet covers. (Emmet: It is taking sooo long, Ingo; on my end of things your pace is rather speedy Emmet: ..verrry funny) Untill they match up and become them both experiencing things in parallel realities. Once they run congruently they can visit each other don't worry
Tldr immortal emmet gets place exactly / right where Ingo was yeeted in to Hisui and gets to experience what his older brother experience while assisted by his said big brother, who's already played this game before, via by Arc phone that has voice chat.
2)
One twin must remain sleeping while the other one stays awake. So only one twin can be truly present in the moment at a time.
The reason why this could be in place would because that Ingo is sharing his immortality with his brother.
(The reason why the Pokemon cannot assist with the immortal sharing is due to immortality in Pokemon being a different Beast then immortality in humans.)
[this is the one that i think the other anon was referring to?]
i kinda like the vibes of the second idea, they basically work in shifts... but then it's bittersweet bc they really can't talk face-to-face anymore.
MAYBE ok if the sleeping one can appear in the other chosens' dreams, maybe the especially strong bond/being "linked chosen" (if we assume the dragon duo always choose in pairs) means that they can communicate telepathically or something similar. so one watches the waking world while the other watches the dream world...

I saw those tags/ Elaborate on hisuian form extinction?
Even tho there’s a hisuian Zoroark in the trailer for SV
Shhh no there isn't XD
Basically, since we know the events of Arceus take place approx. 200 years before the present (comparing real world Ezo/Hokkaido to Hisui/Sinnoh), it means that these older evolutions and forms have gone extinct in relatively short order. Why did certain forms go extinct, and is it true that they are gone forever? Allow me to elaborate.
We will start with those that have understandable in-universe explanations for their loss over time.
(I say that and then spend 30 minutes researching this first part.) Kleavor can only be evolved with a specific rock, the Black Augurite. It's is called Black Augite in Japanese - and Aguite is a real rock. Apparently it's exists closely to the chemical compositions of other rocks, and with declining temperature, it exsolves (seperating out - but specifically for rocks) into other types of rock.
Basically - Augite is a volcanic rock, therefore Black Augurite is likely a remnant of Mt. Coronet's former volcanic activity (it looks closer to obsidian in the game, a well known volcanic rock). With time and age, these rocks become more and more scarce. The seat of Lord Kleavor is eventually the site of the Oreburgh Mine, and its likely these key evolution rocks were either already mined out, or ignored by the time of modern Sinnoh.
Does that mean it's impossible for Kleavor to return? Not necessarily - because it does have such a simple evolution process - it would just be a matter of finding a Black Augurite in the modern day, somehow.
--
Wyrdeer, on the other hand, is almost certainly extinct. For starters, it's evolution method requires using a now-forgotten move in a now-forgotten style. (By this extension, Overquil is likely extinct for the same reason, but more on regional variants in a bit). Wyrdeer cannot return to the main series unless modern Stantler can learn Psyshield Bash. For the in-universe reason - it is mentioned in it's 'Dex entry for having incredibly warm fur, key in making winter clothing. Now, the 'Dex does say that the fur is shed, but as the Hisui region grows, the demand for warm clothes will increase, thus putting a higher demand on Wyrdeer fur. The wild population couldn't keep up with demand, and Wyrdeer were likely hunted to extinction.
--
Ursaluna requires a specific evolution item in a specific region of Hisui at a specific time of day. The last two would be easy enough to do, if it weren't for one little detail. The Bog. The Mirelands are Ursaluna's home, and the Peat Block is a cube of densely-packed decaying, plant matter that is created over thousands of years. Peat is not easily regrown, and only exists in mires. As we know, the Mirelands encompasses an area that is not quite as marshy in the modern day. The only remaining areas that might still hold peat are the Great Marsh and Route 212- neither of which harbor the Teddiursa line anymore. In fact, the Ursaring line is no longer found in Sinnoh at all.*
The exact circumstances of finding a peat block in maybe 10% of it's original ecosystem range, one of which is a wildlife preserve, then importing an Ursaring, THEN introducing the Ursaring to the Peat Block in the Southeastern part of the region WHILE it's a full moon... look, if it was hard enough to figure out how to evolve Ursaluna while it was still around, it would be near impossible to figure out in modern Sinnoh without stupidly detailed notes.
TL;DR - Ursaluna is functionally extinct: it may be possible to see one in the modern day, but it's not easy to realize, nor would a wild population be able to sustain itself.
--
Basculin (White-Stripe) kinda follows the same line of logic. If it was that hard to find and catch in ancient Hisui, then that thing would be near impossible to find in modern Sinnoh (again, assuming it's still around and hasn't been bullied out by other species). As for it's evolution not appearing naturally in the wild, I assume that the frequency or scale of their schooling decreased over the years as Hisui became more industrialized (another real world parallel w/ ecosystem health), meaning fewer souls contributing to Basculegion's evolution.
--
I'll do the rest later because that took longer than anticipated

You know what would be a big plot twist, the villain is somehow Volo with a different name.
I'm not quite certain how that'd work tbh. I mean, I assume you mean he'd be like an alternate reality Volo or something?
I know I've seen some fun idea on tumblr about Volo actually being immortal and using that to go into the future and use Emmet to sorta get revenge on the main character/try his hand at meeting Arceus again, it's not really something I want to do myself.
I mean, I love those ideas, and I'm excited to see where the artists and writers go with it, but the idea of Volo as an immortal isn't really one that appeals to me.
To be clear, I haven't played the post-game of legends Arceus yet. I've been dragging my feet filling out the pokedex rather than completing the main story so I'm not sure if maybe there's some character moment or something that implies Volos immortal or something. Still where I stand currently I prefer the idea that Volo is a purely regular mortal man who has become dangerously obsessed with meeting Arceus to the point of Villainy. I like this both because it draws some fun parallels between Volo and Cyrus in the original Sinnoh games, and because it just makes Volo's character a tad more compelling for me. Again, this is just me.
Beyond that, I also have the fun idea of Volo actually helping out when it comes to dealing with the fallout surrounding Emmet's actions. I mean these events are taking place between the end of the main story and the end of the post game so the big reveal about Ingo's realy intentions haven't happened yet and, in fact, I can imagine all this rigmaroll with the disappearing nobles is wrecking hell with Volo's plans.
Like, Volo wanted the player character to collect the plates for him so he could take them and use them to encounter Arceus. With all this junk going down as a result of Emmet and Elesa showing up no one is looking for the damn plates. A fact that probably frustrates the shit out of Volo.
If nothing else Volo is looking off in the vague direction of this (likely oc) villain and flipping them the bird while vowing to "kick them outta my territory" or something like that. Volo's got his own villainous shit going on and this half-baked extremist from the future is ruining his plans.
So yeah, there's that.
Beyond that tho I imagine the villain who brought Elesa and Emmet into the past in the first place is largely motivated by an obsessive view of history, or more specifically a very misplaced view of it. I think he views "the future" (that the is the present state of the pokemon world that the player character, Ingo, Elesa, and Emmet are all from) as flawed and imperfect. He views the people of the future as weak willed, driven by their emotions, and lacking knowledge and conviction that the "ancient" people of Hisui had. I even see him, in some villainous speech, using Emmet and Elesa's own actions against them. Claiming that Emmet's misdirected conviction to find his brother and Elesa's feelings of friendship for Ingo and love for Emmet made them both incredibly easy to manipulate.
He points out that the nobles "gave up" all their great power after the people of sinnoh started living closer and closer with pokemon and started needing the nobles power and protection less and less. "Allowing themselves to disappear, be chased out, or become the merest pet of wayward children" is how he describes it.
His whole evil plan is to, essentially, take the past nobles of HIsui to the future with him and use their power to "change things back to their more ideal state" or whatever.
(and just like that over the course of a post I figured out hte villainous motivation lol)
There are holes in this plan big enough to drive a truck through obviously, but tbh I kinda consider that more a feature of villainous pokemon teams plans at this point more than anything else to the point that I'm almost convinced it could be considered a thematic element.
But no yeah, I don't really see Volo being the big bad behind this whole thing in this au. Not when he has his own stuff going on.

Alright so after five weeks not watching Yashahime only keeping myself updated through friends and Tumblr, I decided to watch today's episode as it was about Setsuna's past and it got me interested.
Overall it was a nice episode, maybe a little rushed in certain parts however not as bad as some other episodes back when I watched it actively.
Some highlights/scenes I enjoyed and caught my attention:
Seeing Shiori, always lover her character so it was really nice to see her again (even more when I am considering adding her to my future multi-muse blog)
The concept of the Hanyo Village in general, the suffering of half-demons was something always mentioned in the og series so I liked that Sunrise actually did something to improve those lives instead of leaving it as it was.
Shiori being a mother figure to Setsuna and the other hanyo children.
Jaken looking after Setsuna from afar. While I am sure that her father was the one getting the weapon and giving the instructions, most certainly Jaken took care of the rest. That please in the first message doesn't sound like something Sesshomaru would write, it's just not in his general character.
Knowing Setsuna had friends and didn't grow up all alone after the fire. Though happy it did made me confused since Setsuna had mentioned being alone much like Moroha, both ended up having been raised by other people despite the claims of growing up alone, on Moroha's case I can see it more as an implication than a true fact considering she was sold by her Master.
Seeing Miroku again and seeing him use taijiya stuff.
Setsuna being basically confirmed to have been under Kohaku's wing for two years matching once again Hisui entering the taijiya too. Makes more sense why Kohaku wanted to put them working together.
Finally getting an answer as to when exactly Setsuna lost her memories, by the information provided by this episode I would say she lost it during the fire most likely after she was separated from Towa. Still doesn't explain why she disappeared so quickly from the spot she was after the tree fell but kinda debunks my theory that someone was taking her away.
Now the parts that I didn't like and/or got me confused:
The timeline/timeskip is once again rather confusing but unlike other times we have a given number as how many years went by. Still though one thing got me puzzled: Setsuna lived with Shiori for six years, this means she was ten years old when she left to Kaede, that's four years prior to the current timeline. It's not specified how long Setsuna lived with Kaede though, just that it didn't last long because she didn't fit in and unless I somehow missed it, it wasn't said either how long it was after Setsuna returned to Shiori's village...now if one compares it to Miroku's story in ep. 13 and assumes this is the situation that led Miroku on his journey then two years must have passed either with Setsuna living with Kaede or living once again in the Hanyo Village. I'm inclined to believe in the latter but once again Sunrise failed to specify that simple information.
Setsuna's past is interesting but simple so pray tell why only four episodes away from the series (or season) ending do we learn about it??
Gaga Gozen (did i get his name right?) could and should have been a different kind of threat. Another enemy that was defeated rather easily, I know it was to show Setsuna out of control which brings me to another point, if their intention was to make a parallel between Inuyasha and Setsuna losing control over their demonic side it literally didn't need to be a copy paste from the og series since both Inuyasha and Setsuna were attacked, trapped by and killed a moth demon. Parallels can be made without recycling but sadly that has been a recurring situation in Yashahime.
Hachiemon of Awa??? Of what Sunrise?? I don't remember Hachi having that kind of title in the og series but maybe I am forgetting something.
Shiori's skin color change during her human period. Yes I know her mother was light skinned but implying Shiori's dark skin is demonic (I know her father had the same skin tone) when Inuyasha's skin, a mix of his parents' skin tone, never changed in human's night even though Izayoi was much paler is... well needless. They didn't have to leave the exact same skin tone as it probably would blend with her hair but making it all light probably wasn't a good choice, an in between tone would have been better? That while keeping Towa's red hair strand in her human night, so skin color is a demonic trait but a random red hair strand that Towa's father doesn't have isn't??
Shiori's human time is... something else. Either she got extremely lucky and only transforms into human every 300/400 years or solar eclipses are a lot more common in this world. I wouldn't put past it as a) it's a fantasy world and b) Shiori knew her human time was coming, implying it has happened before otherwise I believe she would have been caught by surprise as certainly not 300 years have passed.
R.I.P Shizu 🙏 the theme of missing/dead moms of hanyo children continues. In my opinion they didn't have to show her but didn't have to kill her either but as Miroku said human life is a fragile thing.
Knowing now that a village for beings neither full human and neither full demon exists the more I stick to the idea that giving Moroha a hella painful and lonely life was unnecessary. I think it would have been wonderful if Shiori had been able to raise both Moroha and Setsuna and the two cousins had grown up together instead. If making InuKag absent from their daughter's life was absolutely necessary then in my opinion this idea would have been better, instead we have the twins being raised by lovely people, having a place to call home while Moroha has been a slave since she was...eight? Correct me if I'm wrong...but whatever the age it's sad, all three girls deserve happiness.
Not having Miroku at all appear to be looking for his missing friends or their daughter...or at least mention them or having Shiori ask about them.
I think that's pretty much it! I don't know if I will be watching next week's episode but it seems Hisui will appear so I might take a look.

Like A Beacon Light - 2
title: Like A Beacon Light pairing: side pair Yagi Toshinori/Tsukauchi Naomasa rating: T warning: canon-related violence, past child neglect
[on AO3] | [read from the start]
--
Coffee wasn’t a good replacement for a warm, home cooked Japanese-style breakfast. That was what Toshinori thought when he downed a whole steaming cup of thick black coffee. It went down with slight burn in his mouth, but at least it made him more alert.
If anyone could see All Might, the rising star of the heroic industry, at the state he was in right now, they wouldn’t believe their eyes. Rumpled shirt and stained jeans in lieu to his dazzling hero suit, a bird nest of a hair that no comb ever touched in the past week. He had a crick that permanently lodged to his back, a result from thirteen hours plane ride from Toronto to Tokyo. He was pretty sure he still smelled like crude oil too.
He literally just got back from an international mission, helping with a massive oil spill near the arctic waters, when Gran Torino called him.
“They found Nana’s grandson”, was all that Torino said, tiredly as if Toshi’s mentor just aged two decades since he last met him. Toshi had to hold back urges to jump straight to where Torino told him he would be waiting, and instead suffered through a taxi ride that seemed to take forever.
So here they were, sitting on some police precinct chair that could barely hold Toshi’s bulk. What they were waiting for, he didn’t know. As his anxieties peaked up no thanks to the coffee, he decided for a more interesting thing to do--picking black crusts off from under his nails.
He swore he already cleaned them off when he hit the shower back at the hotel. That seriously was fourteen--fifteen?--hours ago.
He was too jetlagged for this.
“Cut that off”, Torino scolded and Toshi felt like he was back in high school, with his lanky limbs that seemed too tall and too awkward. Toshi scrunched his nose, but obeyed.
He wished he was All Might at the moment. All Might was handsome, charming, and confident. Toshinori was simply an anxious mess with too dark bags under his eyes and unkempt appearance. But All Might had no connection whatsoever to Shimura Nana as far as the public knew, so that was that.
A detective walked into the room. He was older than Naomasa, with his greying hair and crow’s feet at the corner of his eyes. After a brief introduction, Detective Shiba dropped a stack of files on the table, pulling a picture of what appeared to be a bloody crime scene and a photo of a scraggly looking man.
“Last month, a child welfare worker found a male baby covered in blood at her doorstep”, the detective began. “The blood belonged to someone related to the baby. We ran it through our database and found a match.”
“The late Shimura Nana…”, Torino whispered, eyes glued to the photos on the table. Toshi swore Torino’s eyes were watery behind his mask.
“You told us Ms. Shimura had a son she gave up to the institution, right?” Detective Shiba asked.
“Yes. His name was… Hisui, I think?” Torino’s eyes turned wary. “What happened to him?”
“Assumed dead. We found his blood in his apartment and--”
“And what?” Torino pursued.
“And a hand that belonged to him. A disembodied hand. We couldn’t find a body”, Detective Shiba said, pulling another picture of said hand. Toshi found himself unable to look away, mind blank.
“His neighbors said his wife disappeared the day before the child worker found the baby, so we suspected she’s involved”, the detective continued.
“She killed him?” Toshi blurted out before he could stop himself.
“No”, Detective Shiba answered. “Her body was found two days later in the river, along with a suicide note that explained everything. She said, it was the baby’s Quirk that did it.”
More pictures. A dead body of a woman. The photo from civil registry, of a small white-haired woman with downcast eyes. Then, another picture of the suicide note, written in scribbly handwriting.
“The child worker noticed that the kid’s Quirk is already manifested, so she took him to a Quirk specialist. It’s some kind of Quirk that disintegrates things he touches with his hand”, the detective explained. “From Mrs. Shimura’s note, we know that it was the Quirk manifestation that killed her husband. It scared her, so she decided to get rid of her son--although she did write that she couldn’t kill him. In the end, losing her husband was too much for her, that she ended her life.”
“T-then the baby? Hisui’s son? How is he--” Gran Torino choked. If Toshi didn’t know any better, he expected his old teacher would begin to cry any moment now.
“Ah, well… That’s one reason why I called you. Both of you, I guess”, Detective Shiba clasped his hands. “Gran Torino, I remember you as Shimura Nana’s sidekick and friend. And Mr. Yagi, you’re Ms. Shimura’s protege, you said? You see, Mr. and Mrs. Shimura both grew up in the same orphanage, so they don’t have any relative. You’re the closest thing to a relative to this small family.”
“You want to ask us if we want to adopt him or give him up to the institution”, Toshinori furrowed his brows. He would do it--he would adopt and take care of this child, his teacher’s grandson, no matter what. He would protect his teacher’s legacy.
“That’s not… really what I’m gonna say”, the detective rubbed the back of his neck. “The child welfare worker who found the kid. She, well… She said she wants to adopt him.”
Toshi exchanged look with Torino, their eyebrows raised.
--
On the way to the orphanage, at the backseat of a taxi, Toshi went through the seven stages of grief all at once. Okay, maybe the acceptance part was more like grudging defeat. He knew that as a hero, he couldn’t always save everyone. Theoretically, he knew this. He couldn’t always be there for everyone.
But the news about the death of his mentor’s son and the ruins of his family hurt Toshi more than he expected. After all, the whole reason she gave up her son up to the institutions was that so he could live long and happy. And yet, he died all because of his own son’s Quirk manifested. It seemed too… unfair? Tragic?
Something hit the back of Toshi’s head, hard , and it took him a moment to pull himself off the internal freakout he’d been doing and realize that Torino had smacked him. He mustered enough energy to glare at his old mentor.
“Stop hitting me!”
“I’ll stop hitting you when I damn please, you stupid meathead”, Torino sighed, sounded more tired than ever. It was only then Toshi realized how old his old mentor had become. Sure, Gran Torino still could pack a mean punch, but his figure had withered from age; his hair turned completely white and his movements stiff.
How old was Torino again? Fifties? Sixties?
“If it’s anyone’s fault, it’s mine. I shoulda keep an eye on that boy when she--” Torino paused and looked away, shoulders hunched as if the weight on his shoulders were too much to bear.
A decade passed and Nana’s death still hurt both of them, this was a fact. Toshi mourned for the loss of the closest thing he could get as a mother figure, while Torino mourned for his dear friend and lifelong partner. Toshi knew they had a thing, romantically speaking, that went way before Nana married some nameless, faceless guy who ultimately died at the hands of her nemesis, but their partnership was way more than that.
It was complicated. Toshi knew best not to prod.
--
They finally arrived at an orphanage.
It was one of those Christian orphanages, with its own school and church. The place was surprisingly nice, with green field surrounding the building. The brick walls were covered with vines. It kinda gave off a homey feeling that made Toshi feel at ease.
A handful of younger children were playing in groups, under the watchful eyes of the nuns. They turned their heads curiously as Toshi and Torino crossed the yard. They waved cheerfully at Gran Torino, who was wearing his hero suit. Toshi chuckled as his old teacher gave them a thumbs-up.
If only he was wearing his hero suit now.
The headmaster, Father Ishi, was already waiting for them at the entrance to the building. He was a large man with big jaws and gem-like growths peppering his face and skin. Despite his scary appearance, he smiled and laughed jovially when he shook Toshi’s hand. Toshinori was by no means small, what with his gigantism and muscled build, but he swore he still could feel the handshake rattling his bones.
Father Ishi took Toshi and Torino to a baby room, green hills painted on the walls and the windows tall to let sunlight bathing the whole room in warm, golden radiance. Ms. Midoriya already waited for them inside, sitting cross legged on the carpeted floor with a baby bouncing happily on her lap.
Toshi took a double take when he got in. Ms. Midoriya looked an awful lot like his mentor. No, not physically; Shimura Nana was built like a brick house, tall and muscular, and could bring down an entire building with a single punch. Ms. Midoriya was smaller, looked more frail, but there was that aura emanating from her, that made people around her feel more at ease. Her dark hair and ever-present smile only made her look more like Nana.
Next to him, Gran Torino let out a pained whine, almost inaudible to everyone in the room except Toshi. It seemed that his old teacher got the same impression too.
When Toshi finally tore his eyes away from Ms. Midoriya, it was only then he realized fully who the baby on her lap was.
Nana’s grandson.
The boy had pale hair that looked light-golden under the sunlight and his smile was just as bright. He held Ms. Midoriya’s bangs in a death grip, making Toshinori wince in sympathy.
“Good afternoon”, Ms. Midoriya greeted the three of them, looking as if there wasn’t a baby in her lap trying to rip the hair off her scalp. Right. Child Welfare Worker; this was probably normal for her.
Torino and Toshi echoed her greetings, and joined her and Father Ishi on the floor.
She was younger than Toshinori expected she would be. And unmarried, if the lack of ring on her finger was any indication. Sure, at this day and age, it wasn’t uncommon for women to marry older. But adopting a child before marrying? That was pretty unheard of, not in Japan at least.
Oh well, that was none of his business.
Toshi let Gran Torino take control of the conversation, seeing that, well… his mentor was the closest to a relative to Shimura Nana. Meanwhile, he used his time to observe the baby, Shimura Tenko. It was hard to see Nana in the boy. He just… looked so different to her, with light hair and red eyes. Toshi thought if he squinted hard enough, he could see that famous smile of hers, but he just couldn’t see it.
“He has her nose”, Torino commented all of a sudden, his voice solemn. Toshi stared, tried to make sense of his old teacher’s words.
Nope. Still couldn’t see it.
“I’m glad that the police can find his relative, even if it’s not by blood”, Ms. Midoriya said with a smile, even though her eyes looked sad. Her hands were gentle, holding to the little boy’s body; but Toshi sensed that she would fight tooth and nail to keep Tenko with her, if necessary.
Toshinori knew, in that moment, that he couldn’t keep the baby.
He was a Pro-Hero. That alone warranted that he couldn’t always be there to take care of a baby. He spent most of his time on the street; fighting villains, doing community works to keep the society safe and functioning, helping solve crimes, or just simply patrolling.
And then there was that constant danger that came with his job. A few weeks ago, he accidentally found out that one of his old teammates at International Heroics was a parent, simply because a villain unknowingly took over their daughter’s school as hostage. Toshi didn’t think he was ready for that nightmare-turned-reality.
So he kept quiet and watched as Torino interacted with Tenko, who abandoned Ms. Midoriya’s hair for Torino’s cape. Without preamble, the baby stuffed the fabric into his mouth before any of the adults could stop him, and refused to spit it out no matter what.
Tenko was very quiet. Ms. Midoriya said, it was due to various reasons; the trauma of losing his parents, possible child neglect. She said, Tenko was a little bit underweight when she found him and he missed some of his developmental milestones, like walking or saying his first word.
As she talked, she made it even clearer that there was no way Toshinori would be able to give the time, care, and attention that Tenko severely needed. There’d be times when he would be away for days, even weeks at a time, mostly to solve difficult case overseas. Eventually, he’d have to choose between his duty as a Pro-Hero and as a parent, and he didn’t think he was ready for that yet .
Tenko deserved a loving home and a loving parent, someone who understood what he needed to grow to his full potential. Someone like Ms. Midoriya, who was already professionally trained for this and was willing to adopt. And she clearly adored Tenko, if judging by the way she was holding him like he was the most precious thing she’d ever seen in her life.
Who was he to come between them?
--
The next morning, Toshinori woke up to Naomasa already making breakfast. It smelled like miso soup. Nothing really beat Japanese-style breakfast, he mused.
Despite having slept for ten hours straight, Toshi still could feel exhaustion settling deep in his bones. He made his way to the kitchen slash dining room and circled his arms around Masa’s waist, resting his head at the crook of Masa’s neck. His boyfriend already showered and Toshi couldn’t help but bask in the fruity scent of the soap.
It was a rare occasion that both of them had an off-day at the same time. Toshi was almost always out doing his hero duty, so between the two of them, Masa was probably the one with more flexible schedule. Whenever Toshi had an off-day, usually after finishing an international hero work, Masa would try to switch his shift so they could spend time doing nothing together.
Sometimes, Toshi felt like Masa was putting more effort into their relationship; but if he was, Masa never said a peep about it.
“If I bribe you with coffee, will you let me go?” Toshi heard Masa chuckling. He mustered enough energy to reply ‘yes’, but it came out as a garbled mess, with his face smushed to Masa’s shoulder.
It took a bit of maneuvering, but somehow Masa was able to finish making the breakfast and grab the coffee with Toshi still hanging off him like a limpet. And with only a minor incident too.
“I wanna say ‘this is why you don’t hug the cook’, but you look so awful I don’t think I’m cruel enough for that”, Masa joined Toshi on the table. The full course of the breakfast was already laid between them; miso soup, white rice with raw egg on top, and fried tofu.
Toshi’s mouth watered. He picked up the soup bowl and drank it in five big gulps.
“Now, you wanna tell me what’s bothering you?” Masa asked, almost nonchalant. Toshi was glad he already swallowed the last gulp.
He still hadn’t tell Masa about Tenko when he got home the day before. He didn’t know how to bring up the topic. They never discussed anything about children. He didn’t think he could just go ‘Hey, I love you so do you wanna help me raise my dead mentor’s grandson?’
Yeah, that totally, definitely couldn’t go wrong at all.
It was all still too sudden for him. It wasn’t uncommon that Toshi felt personally responsible to help everyone he could, but Tenko wasn’t just anyone . He was Nana’s grandson, and Toshi still didn’t know how to feel about that. He really wanted to be personally involved in the poor boy’s life, wanted to raise him so maybe one day he could carry Nana’s legacy.
Fuck, he wasn’t awake enough for this.
Toshi nibbled his chopstick, eyes downcast as he searched for words, before opening his mouth. “It’s just--”
“Ok, I’m gonna cut you right there. You know I can tell when you lie, right?” There was no heat in Masa’s tone, but still it made Toshi wince.
Toshi released a deep sigh.
“I know. It’s just-- I, I mean. It’s still too new for me to process”, he gave Masa a pleading look. “Give me time?”
It took a moment, before Masa replied, almost reluctantly. “Okay, take your time.”

An au where Iwafune also takes in little Fushimi and raises him.
I'm assuming this means he takes in Fushimi and Hisui, so Fushimi gets his own burrito sibling? Imagine AU where maybe Niki does actually die in the Kagutsu incident and Fushimi happened to be nearby, just avoiding getting caught up himself in the blast. As Iwafune is leaving the area with Hisui he spots little Fushimi, crouched on the ground staring at this crumbled building and a hand sticking out from underneath the rubble. Iwafune knows he needs to get out of there, especially since he's got little King Hisui to deal with, but the Ootori Seigo part of him can't just leave a kid all alone out here. He walks over to Fushimi and tries to steer him towards where there are already emergency volunteers coming to deal with the incident but Fushimi's only staring at him. Hisui suddenly reaches out a hand and imagine Fushimi touching Hisui and glowing Green, his affinity for the Green power allowing Hisui to make him a clansman without even really trying. Iwafune's kinda like well shit but obviously he can't very well leave Fushimi alone now, so he takes Fushimi along with him.
Fushimi's initially kinda shell-shocked in the aftermath, I could see Iwafune struggling to deal with both newly-made King Hisui and the little five year old Fushimi. Imagine him trying to be a good surrogate dad and bringing them dinner only to find Fushimi picking at everything and refusing to eat half his food. Iwafune is starting to wonder if this kid was raised in a barn or something, but he doesn't ask because he's pretty much assumed that Fushimi's family is dead (and then imagine years later he finds out about Kisa after Hisui is creating some jungle mission and her company is involved, Fushimi just flatly says 'that woman isn't my mother' and that's pretty much that). Fushimi doesn't talk about his dad either, Iwafune assumes it's due to trauma which is technically correct but it's more the trauma of Niki's life, Fushimi's actually pretty happy that Niki's dead and he hopes it was really painful and slow under all that rock. When he's very young he doesn't entirely understand what 'clansman' means, only that he has a connection to Hisui that no one else has and that Iwafune keeps telling him this makes him important.
As he gets older Fushimi becomes more involved in jungle, I could see him doing a lot of coding work and server maintenance. I think he'd be satisfied enough when it's just him, Hisui and Iwafune (and Kotosaka, though Fushimi is less happy with the bird). When Yukari joins though I imagine Fushimi being wary and kinda irritated by it, like isn't he enough and why do they need this outsider. When Yukari turns out to be incredibly skilled and strong that makes things even worse, I could see all of Fushimi's issues suddenly bubbling up as he wonders if this important thing he's built with Hisui is going to get destroyed now that someone's here to take his place. Actually I wonder if this would even culminate in some kind of actual betrayal on Fushimi's part, like if he does occasionally leave jungle's hideout – and I assume he would, acting as Hisui's right hand before Yukari joins up – Munakata manages to catch sight of him at some point and tries to actively recruit him. At first Fushimi has no interest but then as jungle gets more members and Fushimi becomes more and more dissatisfied, thinking he's being replaced, and he starts to wonder if he should destroy this home he's had after all before it gets destroyed.

Spy x Family AU with Mikosaru+Anna?
It’s hard to decide if Fushimi should be a spy or an assassin, he fits both…I guess he’d have to be the spy because Mikoto would be terrible at it :P Imagine Fushimi is given this mission by his boss Munakata, Fushimi is a member of the spy agency Scepter 4 and he’s known as the organization’s most accomplished spy. For his new mission he needs to hunt down this guy named Iwafune, who was involved in the Slate War years ago. Iwafune rarely shows himself in public and no one even knows where he lives, but he does make appearances occasionally at the academy where his kid Hisui attends. His younger child Sukuna is also about to start at the academy and so Fushimi is tasked with finding himself a spouse and a kid, having the kid enroll at the school and then making contact with Iwafune as soon as he can.
Of course Fushimi isn’t pleased about this (and neither is Munakata, who wanted to play Fushimi-kin’s spouse and was denied due to his high position where he can’t be spared for such a long mission), he works best alone and he doesn’t want to be the parent of any brat. Even so he goes to the orphanage that S4 has found for him, it’s a sketchy place that will be willing to forge documents to make it look like the kid he adopts is really his. Fushimi just wants a kid who’s quiet and easy to deal with and he’s presented with Anna, who just stares back at him when he glares at her. She seems quiet and mature though so Fushimi’s like fine I guess she’ll do, not knowing that Anna has secret powers, imagine her powers are like they are in K rather than Anya’s telepathy but Anna still knows that Fushimi’s a spy and this is like part of his plan. Even so Anna can see his secret heart of gold and she just takes his hand and smiles at him as he leads her out of the orphanage. Fushimi tries to be matter of fact with her, like he isn’t interested in parenting any brats, but of course really he’s trying not to get too close because he doesn’t trust himself to take care of anyone else.
Eventually he gets fake-married to Mikoto, maybe Anna kinda ends up being behind this. Like say Mikoto is actually this feared assassin known as The Red King, his specialty is burning people to death. He’s also trying to keep a low profile though in order to keep from being seen as a spy or a criminal, his fierce looks in an environment of heightened security make him stand out and his colleague Kusanagi is always suggesting he at least find a boyfriend/girlfriend as a cover. At some point Anna sees him and she’s drawn to him, maybe she gets in danger and when Fushimi tries to save her without blowing his cover he discovers Mikoto’s already done so (while trying to act like he just happened to be there). Anna is very attached so Fushimi reluctantly tries to ask Mikoto out,  Mikoto figures this is a good opportunity and is just like ‘hey. Marry me.’
So now Fushimi is married to a barbarian and has a sweet quiet daughter who absolutely knows that her new dads are a spy and an assassin. Imagine Mikoto is like the most obvious assassin ever but somehow Fushimi just keeps missing it too, like he just assumes Mikoto is someone who’s all muscle so the fact that he doesn’t seem to have any skills beyond punching makes sense. Mikoto meanwhile knows something is off about Fushimi but figures this is none of his business. Anna is enjoying her life with her new dads so she keeps doing her best to get them together, like imagine Mikoto being casually affectionate or possessive with Fushimi while Fushimi huffs and complains and then Anna just comes over and cuddles with them and Fushimi can’t bring himself to push either of them away now. He’s determined not to get attached because he always swore he would never have a family again, because his biological family was so terrible, but at the same time he’s beginning to care about Mikoto and Anna without even realizing it himself, getting oddly comfortable in his strange new family.

AU that's not quite Dark!AU but more like Scepter 4 is a clan of assassins who only assassinate corrupt and evil criminals, politicians, businessmen, police, etc. in the name of justice. Would Fushimi still end up joining, you think? What would Homra's role in this world be? Or jungle's?
Or perhaps even a clan of....ninjas? XD I like the idea of them being kinda antiheroes, like I feel Munakata could make a very good 'villain but with noble aims,' in a sense. Like say Scepter 4 is this secret underground clan of assassins ninjas who only go after those people Munakata deems to be corrupt or harming the populace. Scepter 4 does not take on jobs that are given out of greed, they don't attack innocents if they can help it, but rather they get rid of those who they see as making society worse by their simple existence. Oh maybe for a bit of a change Homra can be the police force here, like Mikoto's a police detective in a corrupt city who does his best to keep the underworld in line and keep his people safe but he's not all that interested in high-handed things like 'justice.' He knows who Munakata is in his 'civilian' identity, as a young rich politician's son who is attempting to follow in his deceased father's footsteps, but he doesn't know that Munakata is also the one who ordered all those mysterious murders that Homra's been investigating.
Fushimi ends up joining Munakata when he gets too close to that investigation, like maybe Fushimi's parents get killed by this unknown 'serial killer' and when Yata and Fushimi join Homra everyone thinks that Fushimi must be interested in this case because he wants to avenge his parents. Really though it's more of a 'how dare you kill that guy before I could' sort of thing and Fushimi doesn't really fit in with Homra, while Homra has underground contacts and are occasionally willing to go outside the law they are not quite an 'ends justify the means' group and imagine Fushimi takes a few extreme actions in his investigation that get him reprimanded by Kusanagi. However these same actions catch Munakata's eye and he decides to leave some clues for Fushimi to find his way into Scepter 4. Fushimi's able to follow those clues and ends up stumbling onto Scepter 4's hideout where Munakata offers him a job, Fushimi assumes if he refuses he'll be killed. Munakata refutes that, if Fushimi wishes to leave and tell all this to Suoh Mikoto he is welcome to, and he can remain working under Suoh after that in what would surely be a place of high honor. Fushimi lets that sink in and then laughs bitterly and removes his badge, taking Munakata's offer to help dispense 'justice' to the world (but to Fushimi this isn't really about justice, it's more that he feels there are some people the world would be better off without and why not kill those people if they have the strength for it, why not be the ones who get rid of all the worthless punks who think they're untouchable). In the 'outside' world Fushimi quits Homra to work on Munakata's election campaign and Yata has no idea that the mysterious masked assassin he occasionally finds himself clashing with is actually Fushimi.
Meanwhile as Munakata's election campaign heats up one of the most prominent and well-known members of the government, Kokujouji Daikaku, dies mysteriously and a new politician steps up to fill the void, a man named Hisui Nagare. I imagine jungle in this scenario being maybe more like a darker version of Scepter 4, where Hisui appears to be a nice mild-mannered head of a tech company dipping his toes into politics but behind the scenes he's commanding his own team to kill anyone who gets in his way. Unlike Scepter 4 jungle has no lofty ideals of justice, rather Hisui sees the world as a survival of the fittest sort of place where anyone who can't protect themselves will just be cut down. His plan is to ultimately create a world of anarchy where money and social standing have no meaning and people can make their own power, and of course this clashes with Munakata's Scepter 4 and Munakata's vision for a world of peace and justice, and also with Homra and Mikoto who just wants to live freely on his own terms and save the people in front of him rather than focusing on abstracts like justice and equality.

not sure if anyone's asked this, but i've just watched children of the whales... and ouni seems a LOT like kuroh except that he's also kind of the opposite? so, if you've watched children of the whales, maybe a crossover between the kids on the mud whale and k project?
Ooh I really liked Children of the Whales, the worldbuilding was fascinating (sudden reminder that I really need to pick up the manga at some point). Not only did Ouni kinda look like Kuroh but I kept wondering why Ginshu sounded so familiar until I realized she shares a voice actress with Neko XD So I’m thinking if we go with Children of the Whales AU that would make Shiro Lykos, the mysterious stranger that they come upon one day who upends everyone’s lives. So say the Red and Blue clans also live on the Mud Whale, everyone seems to be living peaceful lives except of course there are those known as the Marked who have special powers but die early because of it. The obvious parallel would be that all the main cast and clansmen would be Marked and like the Ashinaka kids as the Unmarked but I feel like it might be kinda interesting to have Munakata in Suou’s role (name irony :P) and Scepter 4 as the Unmarked guiding everyone along. Kokujouji and the Rabbits are also members of the Unmarked, playing the role of the old guys who are currently the true leaders of the Mud Whale and know all the secrets about why the Marked die young but want to uphold the status quo and won’t say anything to anyone.
Kuroh is something of an outsider among the rest, he’s very diligent and hardworking but he also seems to have this strong fighting ability that many of the other Marked lack. Though in this AU I’m thinking he would just be more of a loner and maybe only Neko is able to get close to him and really understand him, the role of the ‘Body Moles’ troublemaker gang is of course covered by Mikoto and the rest of Homra. Fushimi used to be part of them but as an Unmarked he was always out of place, eventually being lured away by Munakata and stuck into the role of ship’s archivist. At first Fushimi resents such a stupid role but then Munakata makes like an offhand sneaky comment about how searching the tomes of the past and seeking out new information may one day lead to discovering why the Marked ones die early deaths. Fushimi refuses to admit that he cares about that at all but of course part of the reason he stopped hanging out with Homra is due to his growing awareness that as a Marked Misaki will die sooner than Fushimi will, Fushimi decides that if Yata’s just going to die there’s no point in holding onto him but really it’s the thing that scares Fushimi most and the thing he will do anything to prevent, if he can find a way to save Yata he’s willing to pay any price.
So then one day the Mud Whale spots this mysterious island in the distance and several members are dispatched to explore it. Maybe Kuroh, Neko, Yata and Fushimi all get sent, Yata teases Fushimi about how they’ll have to protect him and Fushimi tells Yata to shut up as he pulls his knives and Yata’s like what the hell Saruhiko isn’t that snooty four eyes you answer to always going on about nonviolence and shit. Yata and Fushimi go search one side of the island while Neko and Kuroh take the other and it’s there that Kuroh finds this mysterious white haired boy sitting in the center of all the destruction. The island suddenly begins to sink and Kuroh impulsive saves the boy’s life, returning him to the Mud Whale where they see he has on this bracelet that says 'Shiro’ and they all assume that’s his name. Kokujouji and the elders see him and immediately want him locked up or thrown off the Mud Whale but Kuroh tries to protect him, saying that Shiro is a guest on the ship. Shiro himself though keeps giving Kuroh and Neko these sad smiles and telling them that they should have left him because he’s only going to bring danger to the group. Kuroh doesn’t believe that though and he and Neko spend all this time getting close to Shiro and in turn Shiro finds himself suddenly with all these new emotions that he’s never felt before, because previously he fed those emotions to the mysterious Slates that exist within the heart of all Mud Whales (and then shortly after an army appears sent by a person known as Hisui Nagare, claiming the Mud Whale is a prison ship and that they all must be killed for the greater good…).

King!Fushimi AU in which (post-first season) Munakata's Damocles' sword falls off and he has to be killed, then Fushimi awakens as blue king. How would he, S4 and HOMRA react?
I feel like this would actually probably be kinda traumatic forFushimi if he awoke as King shortly after Munakata’s death –especially if we go ultimate angst scenario and have AU where Fushimihas to be the one who kills Munakata in the first place. Imagine himstabbing Munakata and Munakata’s Sword breaks into pieces anddisappears, Fushimi standing there stock still and trying to processwhat he’s just done, and suddenly he’s surrounded by blue light, anechoing in his soul as a new Blue Sword of Damocles appears above hishead and Fushimi can’t help but laugh at the irony, that he shouldkill his own King and then awaken to take that man’s place. I thinkfor Fushimi it would be a mess of feelings that he’s not in properframe of mind to handle, like I don’t think he would take well tobeing a King in the first place seeing how he dislikes them and thenhaving to take the place of his own King, as if he really was atraitor in a different sense, more a usurper than a King whether heintended it or not. And if we assume this takes place in like analternate ROK timeline and maybe there’s still Hisui and jungle to bedealt with and so Scepter 4 is needed but of course to Fushimi it’snot like any of these people are his real clansmen, as if they’refollowing him as his own clan, he’s just a figurehead takingMunakata’s place and no one truly wants to be by his side. I couldalso see him just feeling completely inadequate for the role, like healways saw Munakata as someone who could see through everything, whoread ten moves ahead and knew the potential of every person he metand then here’s Fushimi who isn’t a genius, who isn’t Munakata oreven Niki, and how much of a disappointment must he be, the personwho only has failure after failure and regardless of the Sword abovehis head Fushimi can only think of how stupid it is, that someone asworthless as himself would be given this kind of power.
On Scepter 4’s end I think this would cause a lot of unrest in theranks. Awashima and the alphabet squad I think would want to followFushimi – even if they don’t see him as their King necessarily he’sstill their friend and they care about him and want to assist him inany way they can (I see this a lot like what happened with Homra andAnna actually, where at first it’s hard to really see her as theirnew King and some members surely leave the clan because of it butthose who stay find themselves wanting to support this new King). Therest of the clan would be uneasy though, I imagine there’s a lot ofmembers who would just as well have nothing to do with Fushimi at alland can’t believe they’re ever going to be expected to call thatupstart brat King, and plenty who would rather leave the clanentirely than have to serve someone like Fushimi. Plus if Fushimikilled Munakata I can see nasty rumors floating about from those whodislike Fushimi, that oh are we sure Captain’s Sword was reallyfalling or did Fushimi steal that power somehow, like no one reallyknows how this King thing works after all and can anyone say for surethat Fushimi had no choice (which of course just makes Fushimi’smental state even worse, knowing that the clan is fragmenting allbecause he isn’t talented enough to hold them together).
Homra, I think there would be a lot of surprise and definitelyconcern from certain members. Yata would be totally disbelieving Ithink, like wait what the fuck Saruhiko’s the Blue King now. I thinkhe’d be really worried too though, even if they haven’t made up yetYata can’t deny that he still cares about Fushimi and having seeneverything Anna went through when she became Red King he has to worryabout how Fushimi could be suffering, having to take on this power(and in a way I could see Fushimi awakening as Blue King beinghelpful for Yata in understanding him, because surely if Fushimi hadthe aptitude to become Blue King then didn’t he belong in that clanall along). I think Kusanagi and Anna would be worried too, and Icould see Anna sneaking out the Scepter 4 again to see Fushimi, because she more than anyone else understands how this feels toawaken as a new King in place of someone you cared about. Fushimiprobably wouldn’t want to talk to her but Anna’s stubborn and won’tlet him chase her off, I think she would want to help him accept hisrole as King and learn to control his powers so that they don’t painhim as hers once did.

What if Hisui really was Akiyama's long lost twin brother/cousin and thus Hisui decided to try and bring Aki over to Jungle so that they can be reunited as one family. How do you think Akiyama and the rest of Sceptre 4 feel after finding out about their connection and how do you think Akiyama would feel after they destroyed the slates and thus ended up killing one of his family? ( perfect chance for some shipping action for akiyama and fushimi/hidaka/benzai if you ask me hahahahahaha )
I actually really like the idea of Hisui and Akiyama being relatedsomehow and was a little bummed nothing like that ever happened inthe series (I mean come on they look so similar and they’re even thesame height!). Like say Hisui is a cousin of Akiyama’s and they werefairly close as kids, Akiyama assumed Hisui was killed in the Kagutsuincident and maybe that’s part of what eventually leads him toScepter 4 – when he learns the truth of what really killedhis cousin he becomes determined to make sure no Damocles Down occursever again. He has no idea that Hisui’s really alive, say Hisui’sactually been using an assumed name all this time and Akiyama doesn’tknow that the Green King and his assumed-dead cousin are the sameperson. Then when the Mihashira attack happens and Hisui shows up infront of everyone for the first time Akiyama thinks he looks oddlyfamiliar but he can’t really place where, Hisui’s in magical girlmode and it’s been years so Akiyama can’t entirely place his face.Hisui looks over at him for a moment and smiles gently though, rightbefore he attacks everyone – or not quite everyone, becausewhen Hisui’s lightning takes down everyone but Anna it actuallydoesn’t even touch Akiyama, who’s very confused as to why he’s stillstanding. Hisui says something to him like ‘I shall return for youlater, cousin’ before he zaps off to fight Anna and everyone’s juststaring at a wide-eyed Akiyama, who can’t believe what he just heard.
I think Akiyama would be really upset after that, he’s a very loyaland duty bound sort of person so the idea that his own cousin is theevil Green King is devastating to him. He of course wants to upholdjustice as a member of the Blue clan but his cousin was the onlyfriend he had before he met Benzai, as a very polite and rule-abidingchild Akiyama never really fit in as a kid (I can very easily imaginehim as someone that everyone was friendly with but no one was friendswith, like all his peers liked him but no one wanted to eat lunchwith him) but Hisui, as someone who was also a bit abnormal, reallyunderstood him and they were super close. The other members of thealphabet squad try to rally around him a bit, Benzai knows how closeAkiyama was to his cousin and tries his best to be supportive knowinghow torn Akiyama is. Hidaka’s like 'okay maybe Akiyama-san’s cousinis evil but that doesn’t mean you’re a bad person for not wanting totake him down’ and he tries to be all reassuring while also failingterribly at it.
Meanwhile maybe Hisui decides to make use of new jungle clansmanFushimi in this regard, he assigns Fushimi to bring Akiyama to junglewhere Hisui has missed his cousin dearly. Fushimi has no choice ofcourse, since it’s the mission, and Akiyama gets to be doubledevastated that not only his cousin but his friend/crush Fushimi hasalso gone to the evil side (except Fushimi’s oddly gentle when heknocks Akiyama out, and he won’t meet Akiyama’s eyes the entire timethey’re in jungle). In the end Hisui offers to let Akiyama chill withhim and Iwafune on the couch watching the Slate change the world andAkiyama politely refuses, apologizing with shaking eyes as he bowsand walks away. Hisui lets him go in honor of their past friendship, but then he’s halfway out of the hideout when Shiro destroys theSlate and Akiyama tries to run back to find Hisui. He runs intoinjured Fushimi instead and has to make the choice to save Fushimiover finding Hisui, he’s obviously suffering though and Fushimi getsto be awkwardly kind as he tries to assure Akiyama that there wasn’tmuch choice and of course since it’s Saru he kinda sucks at the wholeempathy thing but Akiyama is touched that he even tried. In theaftermath Akiyama finds himself staring down at the ruins of jungle’shideout, wishing he could have convinced Hisui to give up on hisdream and I think ultimately standing on the side of Munakata’sjustice, that Hisui had to be stopped no matter the cost, even thoughwhat he wanted was for Hisui to continue to live and be his friend.
