Large hands lifted the hem of your sundress as you washed dishes in the kitchen. A slow drawl in your ear, “Hey Darlin’. How’s my sweet wife?” His mustache tickles your neck as he kisses it gently, your hand reaches back and runs through his trim chocolate brown hair. His hips sway with yours but for a moment as a zipper is heard and his buckle jingles. Your palms are placed on opposite sides of the sink and he lines his wet heat with yours. “Look at ya, did like I asked and didn’t wear any panties. You’re so good to me.” He coos before pushing inside of you, he waits a moment. Always before starting to revel in just being inside of you. His hands found their way back to your hips and began, not bothering with beginning slow and went with a faster thrust.
You leaned your torso forward to stick your ass back towards him, now able to pump himself deeper into your wet cunt. Your moans increase the faster he goes and the two fingers he often uses to stir your core while cuddling on the couch find their way into your mouth, pressing on your tongue. It only dampens your sounds for a short time, his other hand lifts up your right leg and he nearly bends you over into the sink as he keeps bottoming out inside of you. He doesn’t speak, only grunting now as he’s close, you feel him throbbing, your lips wrapping his fingers and coating them in your saliva. Your cunt quivers from the dual stimulation, your thighs coated with arousal and soon your husband’s spend after he climaxes. His fingers slip from your mouth and his forehead rests on your shoulder, panting while you lean over the sink, barely standing still as he pulls out of you slowly. Turning slowly and cupping his face, you kiss his nose and smile.
“Welcome home Jack.”
The rest of the week was spent cuddling, cooking, taking care of chores on the ranch and indulging in each other’s bodies. Jack reminded you as he had the last few months to not go to his workshop. You’d normally straighten it up and refill the water and beer in the fridge, but he wouldn’t even allow that. It was odd, but in your marriage, Jack’s never given you reason to suspect him of doing anything harmful, so you’d kept to your word and not gone in.
He left for another two week trip, to his brewery to check on things, but he’d be back in for a special surprise he’d said. The last time Jack Daniels told you that, he used the handle of his whip on your clit while he fucked you in the stables.
Jack had made it clear early on in your relationship that he had particular tastes. He enjoyed your large thighs and stomach that he could lay his head on at night and bury himself in to soak his mustache. He also appreciated that you knew when to ask questions and left some things dormant until he’d mention them again. Jack also enjoyed his whips. When he first brought you over to his ranch two months in, he made sure to show his office to you where he had the majority of them. You were skeptical, but open to their use. He started slow with increased frequencies of when he spanked you and added a crop. The crop you giggled at because it was pink like his cock and that made him use it a little extra to form some additional marks on your ass.
Three months ago, when he started utilizing the whip, you were nervous, but he talked you through it. Telling you how good you were doing and how beautiful you looked with your marks, soon when he would crack his whip, you'd start to moisten. Whatever was in his workshop did worry you, because what could it be? You’d gone down a google rabbit hole and looked at the restraints. That might be a hard line for you.
A call came in from Jack.
“Darlin’ I’m gonna be back in two days and we’ll enjoy the surprise together. You haven’t gone to my workshop have you?”
“No honey I haven’t. It just…It isn’t something to tie me up or anything right? I don’t think I can do that Jack.”
“Oh sweetheart, no. Nothin’ like that. You’ll like it, I promise. I love you.”
“Okay, I trust you jack. I love you too.”
Even after the call, you wondered what was in that damn workshop, but you promised. He also asked you to wear some particular attire. You had half of it and the other half came in two parts which you were able to track down before he came home.
On Jack’s day of arrival, he gave you a time to be ready by and to wait. As Mrs. Daniels, you’re aware that Jack can run late, and it was already an hour after he said to be. Turns out it was a good choice, because he came home twenty minutes after that so you wouldn’t be too cold. After all, you’re only wearing a black garter belt with matching black stockings and cowboy nipple pasties that barely cover your areolas. The strangest thing was that Jack had told you to wait in the bedroom with the door closed. He usually liked to watch you and take your form in while he took up the entire door frame. You heard some scratching of the floor like he was dragging something, his boots being removed and his belt, then nothing. The anticipation was getting to you as you tapped your feet on the hardwood floor of your bedroom. Jack’s steps were heard coming toward the bedroom. He stood in the doorway naked, cock hardening as he gazed at you with whip in hand. He cracked the whip once and your thighs pressed together, is he going to start now?
“Darlin, look at you looking pretty for me. Damn you’re sexy woman. Come out into the living room with me. I gotta show you.” Whiskey grinned, he extended his hand and you stood to walk toward it, taking hold of it as you walked with him into the living room.
You weren’t sure what you were looking at. Rather, you weren’t sure how exactly both of you were supposed to use it. Whiskey noted the look on your face but his grin never left his face. “Jack….how… this is what was in the workshop?” You asked, never taking your eyes off it. You saw how you might get on it, but was curious how it would benefit the two of you. “I’m not understanding…Is it safe?” You walked around it once, looking at it from all angles. Jack appeared to be amused.
“I built it myself, carved it and sanded it Darlin’. You’ll be safe. You’re always safe with me.” He wrapped an arm around your shoulders and kissed your cheek, lessening your fears somewhat. You’d always been willing to try for Jack, what was one more thing? Taking a deep breath, you stepped closer to the wooden piece. “My adventurous wife. You always spoil me sweetheart.”
Before you was a wooden horse that Jack had carved, it had some modifications though. There were two indents with pillows attached for you to set your knees after you got on it. The horse’s neck was at a forty-five degree angle so you could lean on it and under the horse's chin, there were two handles for you to hold onto. The back of the horse where you would be sitting had a space that dipped directly below your core and ass so that there was space between the wood and your body. Once you were on and felt comfortable, you nodded and told Jack you were ready. His whip cracked behind you with excitement as you felt the rush of air behind your back. “Hot damn you look like a dream perched up there Darlin’!” Your husband yelled and ran his hands up and down your arms and licked your shoulder, nibbling on it. Wiggling on the horse, your grip slacked a bit to lean back into his embrace, but he pushed you forward gently. “Don’t let go, you’re going to need to hold on. I’m gonna start.”
The next crack was to the same spot on your shoulder where he had just bit you. You never felt it at first, Jack knew to wait to see a mark start to form and the delicious sting would spread across the area. The cowboy made two more marks in quick succession, one for each shoulder blade, those made you shift your hips forward bucking against the air between the horse and your core. You looked back at Jack, licking your lips to signal that more was alright, but he folded his whip and slid behind you, pressing his dripping heat against your ass, sliding it under you so it rubbed along your folds. “Now look here Darlin’,” Jack’s free hand cupped your breast as he packed your lips, “you know you gotta give me words now.” His hips slowly grinded in place as you tried to push yours back to have more friction. He pulled back and waved his finger to mean ‘no, not yet.’ When you finally told him he could continue, he let two more cracks fly, this time across your right thigh, ripping the stocking you had on. The smile on his face told you that’s what he wanted to see it rip. Taking three steps to his left, he did the same to your left thigh and followed with one whiplash to each cheek of your ass.
The sharp cries that came from you fueled Jack to give you just two more, one on each hip. He wanted to stop the throbbing he was feeling, bury himself in your pussy and drill you into the mattress, but not yet. Whiskey made a quick trip to the bedroom, laying out a cooling blanket on the bed and grabbing the tube of aloe. Despite what he wanted he knew that the only reason you agreed to do any of this, was that you trusted him. You trusted Jack Daniels to take care of you when sick, sad, or after another round of whip play. When he returned, you’d been able to get one leg down, but not the other. You were dangling awkwardly off the horse and he snickered making his way over to help you down. Jack supported your upper body as you wiggled your leg out and you pinched his soft stomach.
“Sorry Darlin’ you looked so cute hangin’ in there.” He continued to chuckle as he circled his two fingers for you to turn to face the horse and lean on it.
“Alright Jack, just stop laughing. That wasn’t funny.” Damn Jack always made you laugh even if it was at your expense, your giggles became hums as he applied the cool aloe to your shoulder first, then worked his way down your bilateral arms. Daniels applied more directly to your skin and spread it across your back, pressing into your skin shoulder blades. “Press deeper into my skin honey.” You requested, you didn’t see his eyebrow arch upward but he added more aloe to his fingers and pressed them into your right thigh, making your press against the horse more with a moan. As he rubbed, his fingers slipped under the black stocking and ripped it more, removing it completely. He did the same with your left thigh as his nose ran down your spine. You whined his name while he squeezed the last of the aloe out of the tube and rubbed his hands together. Placing one large hand on each of your buttocks, he palmed slow circles as he stood back up and left love bites on the back of your neck.
“How do you feel Darlin’?” Whiskey asked, his tongue flicking your earlobe as he spoke. You reached behind, your hand finding his hard length. He released a deep groan, starting to suck on your ear.
“I feel like I want you buried inside me love. Don’t make me wait anymore.” Jack took a step back as you released him from your light grip and he followed you to the bedroom. He expected you to get on all fours since your back was still pretty raw. The aloe calmed it, but he knew it still hurt. Instead, when you climbed on the bed, you flipped over on your back onto the cooling blanket and held out your arms for him to come to you. “Come on Jack, I’m seeing your face as you come inside.” He hesitated, normally, you asked him to use his tongue and fingers to make you climax before he entered you. Frowning, you opened your legs and put yourself on display for your husband. Despite being married, it was a little embarrassing, but you wanted him to know how much you wanted him right now.
Jack relished times like these when you were especially direct about what you wanted from him. His face lit up like you’d told him he was getting another 1970 Ford Bronco. The bed dipped under his weight as he climbed on it and covered your body with his. Hands roamed your body, squeezing you everywhere he could as he shifted between your legs and had his cock sliding against your entrance again. His lips claimed yours, as your hands grabbed his shoulders pulling him closer. He broke the kiss along enough to whispered, “You’re too fuckin’ good to me sweetheart.” Jack’s tip slipped inside of you when he moved to kiss you again, you closed your legs and wrapped them around his waist so he couldn’t pull out. “You’re a wiley vixen Darlin’,” he grinned into another kiss with you before moving his hands finally to your hips. He still didn't move until you pressed your nails into his skin, letting him know you’d go deeper if he kept that up.
In contrast to when he came to you around the house and outside on the ranch, he began slowly, ensuring you felt every ridge, vein and thrust. He had to make it count, he’s been so close to covering your drenched mound with his climax. The sharp mewls from your puffy lips spurred him to move faster, he was trying to resist his own high while his hips became flush with yours with each drag and slide. Your nails were digging into his skin as you held onto Jack as tight as you could, your walls starting to quiver to try and catch his dick and keep it inside of you. Lifting your hips repeatedly had your husband simultaneously calling your name and cursing that you’ll be the death of him. “Give it to me Jack, I know you’re holding out. You don’t need to.” At your words, the cowboy knew he couldn’t resist and thick ropes of his come coated yout walls, his thrusts slowed significantly as he churned his seed inside of your cunt. The overwhelming fullness enabled your climax where your core clamped down on his cock that was still within you. “Stir me more Jack, don’t take it out yet.” You whined as Jack remained within you during your high as well.
When both orgasms passed, Jack carefully slid out of you as your body was now limp. You tried to move, but he gently set your raised hand down as he made his way to the bathroom, cleaned himself up and came back with one washcloth and one towel. The warm cloth was welcome to your skin as he wiped off your sweat and then used the towel to dry you off. He then asked you to move your legs, once he was sure you wouldn't topple over with him supporting you, off to the bathroom you went as well.
Once he got you back in bed, he said he was going to clean up the living room, but you told him that could wait until tomorrow morning. “Please stay with me. The bed’s lonely without you Jack.” With you asking like that, how could he say no? Jack slipped under the covers with you and wrapped his arms around you, cradling your head on his chest.
“Of course Darlin’. Anything you want.”

100 Palettes Challenge // Palette #15 // Greetings From the Pine Barrens
Today's color palette comes from a German Red Cross poster from 1914.
Tumblr media
Are you excited? I'm excited.
It's less to do with the palette, though something about it does really appeal to me somehow.
But so let me bring you on a bit of a journey.
The other day, I was playing some classic Disney shorts for my toddler, one of them being Paul Bunyan. If you've never watched Disney's Paul Bunyan animated short, or if you haven't watched it in a while, I highly recommend it for the backgrounds alone. They're a classic example of that sort of classic painted, textured minimalist mid-century style. And as I was really looking at them, they reminded me so much of the travel posters from the 1930's and '40s. And as I was thinking about those, I just really wanted to try out the style.
So I did!
It didn't even take me that long to decide on a subject. I grew up in New Jersey and lived there for most of my life, and the thing that really pains me about cryptid fandom in the lack of love for the Jersey Devil.
Jersey Devil lore under the cut.
For those who don't know, the Jersey Devil (not to be confused with the hockey team of the same name, which was named after it!) is a cryptid alleged to live in the NJ Pine Barrens, an area that takes up about a third of the state. One of the several stories goes that, back in the colonial era, a woman either by the name of Mother Leeds or who lived at Leeds Point, NJ, discovered she was pregnant with her thirteenth child. Devastated — possibly because her husband was terrible, possibly because it was just hard giving birth to and supporting that many children — the woman hiked to the top of a hill nearby and shouted to the sky, "Let this one be a devil!"
Months later, possibly on a dark and stormy night, the woman gives birth to her thirteenth child. It might have been a rough birth, but both the mother and child survived. However, while the midwife was tending to the baby, the mother heard her scream. The baby changed — transformed — right in front of her eyes, its face and body lengthening, its hands twisting and hardening into hooves, a tail sprouting from its hips, and leathery wings stretching out of its back.
The next scream the mother heard was the inhuman screech of her devil child right before it killed the midwife and took flight. It might have then flown through the house, killing the entire family; it might have flown up the chimney in a burst of strength that blew the house from its foundations. But either way it flew into the depths of the pine barrens where it's rumored to have been terrorizing the residents of New Jersey ever since.
They say that anyone who's spent a night in the pine barrens has a story about encountering the Jersey Devil.
So when I thought about what location I wanted to make a travel poster for, obviously my first and only answer was the NJ pine barrens, and I needed to include the Jersey Devil on the poster somewhere.
And damn I had so much fun with this! Which you can probably tell, I think this is the most detailed piece I've ever made, and I'm so proud of it. I originally planned to have the Jersey Devil be lurking amongst the trees in a more prominent position, but with the limited palette I wasn't sure I'd be able to make it look right. And I really liked the idea of it kind of photo bombing the poster.
There was a little bit of frustration trying to figure out how I wanted to do the pine needles and the texture on the ground. But it was so satisfying when I finally hit on the look I wanted that the frustration barely even registered after that. And the tree textures, damn, I was expecting to be way more frustrated by that, but it worked out so well.
I loved the gradient around the moon so much that I added another one to the ground. I meant to play around with some gradients on the text but I forgot. I probably could've added some gradients to the trees too. When I do this again (because I'm definitely doing this again), I'm absolutely going to spend more time with gradients.
But god I'm so happy with how this came out, I might just print it out for myself to hang up.

I know I have only been playing the game for roughly a year, but on my journey I've met lots of players who are vey helpful and generous enough to give me tips on how to build the characters as well as excelling in the game.
This post is not meant to be taken as a rigid rule. Rather I want this to be something that you would take into consideration because at the end of the day, it's just a game, and as long as you enjoy playing it, then it's all that matters.
I don't know how long this will get but I will add a break so I don't clutter the timeline haha.
Focus on leveling up your character
Tumblr media
Including their level and talent level. Leveling up your character level will give access for you to level up their talent as well. Certain talents can only be unlocked on certain levels so make sure you level up your characters first so you can level up their talents.
It's very important to build the character itself first instead of looking for artifacts during early game, as artifact drops are very random and you never know when you're gonna have good pieces, whereas character level and talent are something that's easier to predict (and has a fixed end line).
Don't wait for constellation just to build a character
Tumblr media
I've had people coming at me, saying that they don't wanna build a character if they're still at C0. This is not a wise move as you're only making things difficult for yourself, especially if you're an f2p and you don't pull that often. Some characters are still great, even being a C0. If you only build characters with higher constellation, you'll end up with a team that might don't work well together.
So build your character, even if they're still C0. Constellations will come as time goes by but at least you've got them built so you're already ready by then.
Keep your fragile resin as many as you can
Tumblr media
This mostly applies to players who haven't reached AR45. You can use 1 or 2 fragile resin but I highly recommend to keep them as many as you can cuz you're gonna need them to spam the artifact domain later once you reach AR45.
Why? It's because once you're at AR45, you gain access to the highest level domain which guarantees you at least one 5* artifact. Which is why...
Start farming artifacts once you reach AR45, not less than that
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because if you're not farming at the highest level domain, then chances are you're not gonna get any 5* artifact. I've been there done that, I tried farming for artifacts before I reached AR45 and I never got any 5* artifacts. It's a waste of resin, time, and energy. If you're having difficulty on doing these domains, you can do it in co-op.
Prioritize exploration during early AR
Tumblr media
A lot of players these days are easily concerned about their character damage. While it's good to be aware of how to build your character, it's far more important to just explore and gather materials, finish quests, etc during early AR.
Don't feel bad if your character doesn't do as big damage as players you see online cuz chances are they're already at higher AR. You can start thinking about your character damage once you're at AR45 cuz that's when you finally get access to more 5* artifacts.
So just explore and most importantly, level up your Statue of the Seven cuz the higher the level is, the more stamina you have.
Gather everything
Tumblr media
If you see anything that shines when you're exploring, don't be lazy and just take the item. Any items you can take, just take it, even if you don't necessarily need them now, you'll need it later for things that you might never expected.
This includes monster drops. I've seen some players neglecting to collect monster drops during their daily commission and everytime I see it, something in me dies a little because I've been in a situation where I ran out certain monster drops and that feels suck. So never leave anything behind.
Focus on building your main team
Tumblr media
With the huge array of characters Genshin offers to us, it is by no means that we have to immediately build everyone. I would highly recommend you to set your whole attention on 4 characters first, level them up, level up their talent as well, give them good weapons and level up the weapon as well. It'll save you from wasting your resources on characters you don't actually use.
Learn your party rotation
Sometimes, stats isn't everything. In Genshin, your party can survive even with "mediocre" stats as long as you understand how to utilize elemental reaction to provide bigger damage. This means that you gotta understand how your party works, or how the rotation is gonna be.
Be comfortable with your party, test them out against many enemies to learn your party's strength and weaknesses.
Don't be ashamed to use NRE
It's one of the best gadget in Genshin, especially if you haven't had or built a decent healer, having NRE will definitely help you to survive in many battles.
NRE is a gadget that allows you to heal/revive character using food with just one click away. You can get this gadget after getting Mondstadt reputation to level 4.
Last but not least, have fun!
Since Genshin revolves around building character, it's not always sunshine and rainbow there. So always make sure that you're content with what you're doing with the game, never compare your game progress to other players because everybody has different luck.

?!?!? You've only been DRAWINGFOR 2 YEARS??!?!? I've been doing it way longer than that but your progress is outstanding!!! Tge clours and the linear and everything I wan tto chew on them...
I'll check out disco elysium when I can but unfortunately I'm poor and can't afford the game... but I hear its like dialogue based so a palythrough might not be great... anyways I'm loving this harry de bit and kimmy so thanks again for the great work <33
ive been drawing traditionally since i was little but yes, ive been drawing digitally for two years!! but THANK YOU SOOO MUCH 😭😭 your compliments are so flattering and mean the whole world 2 me 🌎 💛
but with disco elysium i do think its worth playing over watching because its all dialogue and theres so much you could experience in your playthru that even i havent seen before! i highly recommend it when you're able to afford it (or through.... other methods. because right now there is a complicated legal dispute regarding the studio behind the game unrightfully firing DE's creator but.. that's a whole thing. basically i wouldnt blame you if you got the game a different way! 😁)
BUT!!! thank you sweetest anon! i will keep you in my thoughts as i draw harry and kimmy and i wish you the best of luck on your own artistic journey!! NEVER GIVE UP!!!!! 🌈

Listen to Can't Hurt Me by David Goggins on Audible.
https://www.audible.com/pd/B07KKMNZCH?source_code=ASSORAP0511160007
In the past I was never really keen on reading self help books. I always felt like there was no point on reading them because I knew what I needed to do but instead I choose to make excuses to procrastinate or not do it. But this is why I think this book by David Goggins has become a favorite of mine at least enough for me to recommend the book. A part of me felt like or rather had grown comfortable in making excuses and using the trauma I went through growing as a crutch. Meanwhile what I needed was a wake up call and stop making excuses for myself. In truth I had started my journey or rather my redemption arc months before I even found out about Goggins's book but after having gone through 2/3 of the book already I have to say this book is just the right thing I needed to push myself off the edge. I also like the inclusion of the task he gives at the end of each chapter it felt interactive and it gave me a goal to get to it got me thinking about things a lot and it got me realizing or rather accepting that I can't keep making excuses I can't use my situation as a crutch if I intend to live the best life I should walk the talk I gotta just do it no ifs or buts about it. So for any of you trying to pick yourself up and wanting to change your life for the better I highly suggest that you pick this book up. Personally for me I much prefer the audiobook as it's set in a semi podcast format so you can actually hear Goggins himself add context and more advice to it. Personally I'm more of a listener then a reader. However if you can't get the audiobook then getting the text is also just as good and still leaves a lasting impact. Or if you have the time then do both have the audiobook playing as you are reading the text and fully immerse yourself in Goggins's work of art which is what I choose to do and when I tell you it left a lasting effect it sure did.
Side note: if you don't do well with strong languages the text version also comes in a more softer toned down one. Though personally I'd rather take in the raw unfiltered one strong language and all. Because quite honestly it leaves a lasting effect and you actually feel the emotions rushing through. But that's just me though everyone has their own preference. Unfortunately the filtered version does not have an audiobook so you're going to have to just settle with reading the text. Again still worth the read and it'll leave you facing yourself.
Months ago I was convinced that I was a healed girl I'd overcome my traumas and all. But when I tell you this book had proven me wrong it did. The effect each chapter leaves on you forces you to reevaluate your life, what you've gone through and what you're goals are even who you are as a person. With the passing of every chapter I felt myself more and more enraged at the life I've let myself go through all in the name of being the victim. You are going to cry a lot you are going to feel angry a lot you might even feel a little anxious needless to say this book will literally leave you feeling like you've taken yourself apart inside out part after part and it's not going to be fun all rainbows and sunshine and it's the furthest from feeling comfortable. But you know what they say success begins at the end of your comfort zone if you're feeling comfortable you're not thriving. Self improvement is not for the weak of hearts you need to be brave to leave behind your comfort zone. I haven't gotten to the end but if it's anything to go by I don't want to live like the me in the past. I had always told everyone how I was a warrior a fighter but in truth I was playing a victim making excuses after excuses. It's time I walk the talk I didn't want to be know as who I was in the past I want to strive to become the warrior the fighter I had been saying I was. With that said if you're wondering what book to pick up on I'd say your best bet is to pick up this book. It's quite literally life changing.

do you have anymore romantic type (doesn't have to be a romance novel but has romance in it) novel recs? and just novel recs in general?
I'm currently reading the song of achilles and it's a love story, but also as we all know it's a retelling of the Iliad and the trojan war... so i'm expecting a sad ending! I'm only on the first half of the book so pls don't spoil if you have read it!!! But i think it's a great retelling plus i love reading it right now since I'm seeing the names of places and people i'm learning about in classics studies!!! I think it's a popular book so you've probably read it!!! If not i highly recommend!!! Here are some more that i enjoyed reading:
Boy, Snow, Bird by Helen Oyeyemi - no words for this because my words aren't enough!!! Helen Oyeyemi's writing is something you have to experience on your own to feel the whimsy and the magic!!! (All her works are amazing btw!!!)
Stone Mattress by Margaret Atwood - this is a dark read, but that's to be expected w miss margaret!!! This is a compilation of short stories!!! (tw death and murder, angry old women, etc...) here is the title story in the new yorker if you want to see the vibe of the book before you invest in it!
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo - Highly recommended! There's so much love and softness in children's lit that contemporary ~millennial~ literature is missing and it was refreshing to read this. It's nice to be reminded that love is real and it comes to us in many ways and we never lose love. It's always there!!! This story is about a bunny toy that learns that!!! 🐰💕 There's so much hope in this book, I reread this from time to time when i feel lonely!!!
Damned by Chuck Palahniuk - Summary: teenager dies and goes to hell. This is a fun read!!! It's nice to read about demons <3 kinda like dante's inferno but more tongue in cheek!!!
Revenge by Yoko Ogawa - if you're in for horror! This is also a compilation of short stories (all interconnected)!!! This is what murakami thinks he is tbh only ogawa's work is sharper and darker - definitely better in terms of the atmosphere that she creates for the readers!!!
Bakkhai translated by Anne Carson - This is her version of Euripides's play! I had fun reading this because i like how chaotic Dionysus is!!!

I think you've mentioned you've been reading more lesbian books that arent fanfic, any recommendations?
YOU BET YOUR ASS I DO
1. Behind the Green Curtain by Riley Lashea -
(legitimately the best romance I have ever, ever read. I recommend it to anyone who loves lesbian romance and if you follow me, I assume you do)
In which - Caton has a job that she doesn’t love but it pays the bills… And she has to put up with Jack, her sleazy as fuck boss. Her sleazy as fuck boss who then hires her for an obscene amount of money to be his wife, Amelia’s, personal assistant.
Caton intends to keep her head down. Just get the work done and make her money, ignoring how incredibly hot - and emotionally cold - Amelia is, but her attraction to her makes that very difficult.
Caton and Amelia embark on a torrid affair that starts with crazy hot but confusing sex, because Caton doesn’t understand where exactly she stands with Amelia. It gradually turns into one of the most meaningful/deep love stories guaranteed to hit you deep in the emotions.
Honestly. Read it. You won’t regret it. The only caveat I can think of is technically that there is adultery, but Jack is the biggest scumbag who has affairs of his own so.
2. All That Matters by Susan X Meagher -
Blair Spencer’s life seems to be going pretty well. She’s a highly successful real estate agent and is married to David, who respects that she is highly independent and likes to live her own life. The hitch in her life is that they are struggling to have a baby, and while she is all for adoption, David desperately wants a biological child.
They go to a practice that specializes in fertility, and while there she meets Kylie Mackenzie, a lesbian surgeon. Kylie is brilliant, funny, and beautiful, but remains single because she doesn’t want to settle for anything less than that passionate, all-consuming kind of love.
Realizing that they have a lot of interests in common after seeing each other out around town, Blair and Kylie strike up a friendship. Over the next months/year, Blair’s marriage starts to crumble and their friendship grows impossibly deeper, giving way to Kylie falling in love with her supposedly straight best friend and Blair learning about what it means to really fall in love.
It’s hard to describe without going into a ton of plot detail, but let me assure you that this is really the best best best friends to lovers journey and I guarantee it will move you.
3. Who’d Have Thought by G Benson - in case you’re looking for a fake romance, don’t you worry… I’ve got you
Hayden Perez is a nurse in New York, who - for a few reasons - is struggling to make ends meet. She comes across an ad late one night in which someone is offering 200,000 dollars to get married for a year, no questions asked. She does realize how crazy it sounds and doesn’t seriously want to do it… but the money is too good to turn her back on.
It gets especially difficult when it turns out that the person behind the offer is Samantha Thomson, a neurosurgeon who works at the same hospital, who comes off as cold and rude at work, and is someone she’s never especially liked.
Now she’s supposed to convince everyone, including her best friend, that she is so in love with a woman she notoriously has disliked, that she wants to rush into marriage with her - plus the fact that you know, she has to move in with and get married to said woman - should be no problem. At all.
The book I read that got me into the rabbit hole of lesbian romance novels! Two compelling leads and an engaging plot… it’s the best fake romance I’ve found. The biggest hang up I had going into it is that it is somewhat of an age gap which isn’t hugely my thing as you may know. But there’s no other power dynamic at play or anything and I can lose myself enough in the plot.
Those are my, in order, top 3 would recommend to anyone, lesbian romance novels.
and because I’m me, guess who is going to recommend even more!
- Damage Control by Jae -
The incredibly beautiful and talented Grace Durand is an America’s Sweetheart kind of actress. Which means it doesn’t bode well for her career when rumors flair up that she’s not exactly straight - which, she is (so she thinks).
In an effort to squash the rumors, she hires a new publicist, Lauren Pearce… without realizing that Lauren is a lesbian.
Lauren has been in/around Hollywood for her entire life and has seen it all and dealt with it all. At least, she thought she had, before she realizes Grace really is a sweetheart and suddenly she might be dealing with her own work life nightmare of falling for a client.
(Honestly, I’ve never been like blown away by a book by Jae, but I’ve read almost all of them because they are all very solid and engaging. So if a book by Jae appeals to you by the plot, I would definitely recommend it)
Just For Show, also by Jae -
Claire Renshaw, an anal retentive, compulsive yet amazingly successful couples therapist, seems to have everything going for her: a fiance that she’s been with for years and is almost done with her book about how to make it last as a couple… until her fiance breaks up with her at their engagement party, and she finds herself in a lurch with her book deal, because who wants to buy a book about making your relationship last from a couples therapist who can’t make her relationship last?
In comes out of work actress, Lana Henderson, who doesn’t realize until after her “audition” that she’d been auditioning for the role of Claire’s fiance. They couldn’t be more different, with Claire’s strict rules and serious demeanor and Lana’s more impulsive, cluttered lifestyle, but they just have to make it through until Claire’s book contact gets signed, and then they can go their separate ways. Unless opposites really do attract…
(not as great, imo, as a fake romance as Who’d Have Thought, but a light and entertaining read just the same)
- Scissor Link by Georgette Kaplan -
Wendy Cedar is an employee at Savin Aerospace with a massive crush on her boss, recent divorcee, Janet Lace. After Janet accidentally stumbles upon Wendy’s email about a sex dream she’s been having, she decides to see if the reality can live up to the fantasy. But when the relationship starts to be more than a kinky office romance, the two have to decide if they can make it as a couple or if they were better off as boss and employee.
(Plot-wise, this is admittedly not the most solid tale. It’s good! But could have been better. But honestly, Wendy as a character is hilarious and so engaging, it was easy to let go of any issues I had with anything else because she won me over completely)
- Love All by Rachel Spangler -
Throughout her long career, professional tennis player Jay Pierce has been burned by both players and the press. She’s learned the hard way that she can trust no one and nothing, especially her own judgment. So, when she starts one last career comeback, she knows the only hope she has to redeem her legacy is to go it alone.
Sadie Larsen knows virtually nothing about the world of professional tennis when her daughter, Destiny, breaks onto the women’s tour at the age of 17. She learned everything she needed to know about single parenting on her own, and she knows she can do the same now that the stakes are higher than ever—all she has to do is stay laser-focused on protecting her family of two.
Neither Jay nor Sadie expects the path ahead to be easy. Each believes she’s prepared to face every single challenge with the stony resolve of a woman who has been counted out and bet against her entire life. The only thing neither woman had counted on was each other.
As Jay and Destiny fight their battles on the court, Sadie and Jay fight their attraction off it. Can they survive the crushing crucible of competition, press pressure, and parenting, or will love all really mean no one goes home a winner?
(once again, much like Jae, most books by Rachel Spangler are pretty  good. But this is by far the best I’ve found, and also the best sports related romance)
soooo, yeah! I have some other recs but these would be my top - especially the first 3. and especially the first 1.

I am Spectacularly brainless today, but I finished reading Sunshield last night, and WOW. WOW. There's just so much to love??
I never got to do a review and recommendation post for the Creatures of Light trilogy that this duology is set ~20yrs after (because the past 6 months since I read them have been SOME MONTHS, my dudes), but definitely put them on your list to read. If you've ever expressed frustration in wanting female characters to be PEOPLE instead of 1-dimensional "love-interest" or girlboss" or "I Had 5 older bros", etc ,,, do yourself a favor and read these books.
It's so???? These women have goals and values and motivations and flaws that are so solely their OWN. And they take up SPACE!!! and when you read these books there's that resonant recognition, like, I know you, you're me, you're my sister, you're my best friend, I KNOW YOU. It's brilliant but also it was a little painful in my experience just because the POV/narrator of book 3 was such a detailed reflection of how I personally think and act that I was terrified to see my flaws plainly laid out in narrative form, and yet—and yet it was cathartic in the way that while the flaws were a part of it, they weren't the entirety. I saw strengths there, too.
Uh so yeah go get your hands on those books asap
But anwaysss Sunshield. SUNSHIELD. as soon as I finished the book I was like I NEED TO REREAD THIS IMMEDIATELY (I did not bc i had to sleep :c also my sis is reading it next sooo) after considering, i think I just need to start back at Woodwalker again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Oh noooo, too bad /s 😌
First thing about Sunshield is the disability representation. Holy crap. Visible and invisible, ongoing health issues, accidents, internalized ableism, ptsd and flashbacks, self-worth issues, self-worth tied to what you can do/provide so when that's gone what do you have??, not being able to do what you love and want to do and would be good at bc your own body WONT LET YOU. People treating you differently, pushing yourself past your limitations out of a need to "prove yourself ",,,And the disabilities aren't victimized or villainized,,, theyre all just people!!!
Its..It's a lot you guys. It's SO GOOD. But it's a LOT.
In more general book things, I mean obviously the characters are awesome! Well developed, as expected, and I am SO attached to them ahdkdhsm
Lark, Lark is EVERYTHIGN,,, and that rotating perspective was PERFECT. I loved when the plots started crossing the reader beings to be able to see these characters through another's eyes.
The writing itself is enjoyable to read, but the descriptive and symbolic imagery was especially amazing. There were so many details I loved, and the rotating perspective really played to its benefit, allowing each character to reveal different details before the whole picture comes together.
Loved how easy it was to imagine the scenes and to really fall into the story and follow the characters on their journey and feel that deep appreciation for nature even though you aren't experiencing things first hand
And then there's the use of Light, which is a VERY important concept within this world, and so i was already looking forward to seeing another country/region's aspects of light that they value, and how it shapes their culture and lifestyle! And the use of light narratively was soooooo genius. I was just over here like [VIBRATING IN EXCITEMENT] (╯✧∇✧)╯
And then there's the fact that the books make me want to ART!
Ah I feel like I'm missing so much that I want to say...
But yeah definitely check out the series!!! Highly recommend 👌 🥰😭

Re:Zero Review
Tumblr media
Borrowed photo
Ola! It's been a while since I made a review and I think this is the 4th time that I'll be reviewing an anime. Oh well, me reviewing something means this show is really amazing cause I got a lot of beautiful things to say about it. Yes, I only want to review things I've found beautiful because it's really not in my nature to rant about something since it's really tiring and I hate negative thoughts! 😆
Well, let's get down to the business, first things first, what's with Re:zero?
Re:zero or starting life in another world is what exactly the title tells us about. It's a story of a typical shut in guy who suddenly got into another world, with this story a game-like world, set in a medieval era, where magics were not a very unusual thing and where humans and humanoids live together. Fortunately, our protagonist, Subaru, was very fond of playing games so he had already an idea on how to start or how to literally "play the game." Such a generic story isn't it? It's supposed to be but it's actually not.
Normally, in such stories, the protagonist is supposed to have an unknown ability that will only be released when the situation calls for it. Most of the time it would later on revealed that the protagonist in an important part of the world, either a part of the royal blood, a saviour, a god etc. Also in some stories, there would even have a character who would appear in front of the protagonist and explain whatever is happening. Likewise with how Subaru expected it, I was also expecting for the same thing. However, what happened was really unexpected.
[SPOILERS ALERT] He died but then he was reset to his last save point; literally like a game. The difference was, he would not know where or when was his save point unless he would die and be reset. Also, this ability of him do not allow him to have any choice. Once he died, he would automatically go back and complete his mission, which he still needed to figure out. The only rule is that, he would die over and over unless he could solve the mystery or found the "happy ending." Thus, "quitting" was not an option.
At first I thought that it was such a very convenient ability. At least you'll have another chance, not just once but as many as you want until you find the happy ending. But as I moved to each episodes and as the story goes deeper I've realized that NO it's not very convenient.
Subaru can reset from death thus, if there was something not good happening with his life, with his friends or even with the kingdom, which would result to their deaths, then he was the only one who could change it. Imagine the pressure and the burden that he was carrying?!
Subaru did not have any choice but to go over and over into an ugly situation not until he could find the solution
Have you tried solving a math problem that needed you to go over from the scratch because you know somehere in between you made a mistake but can't find it so you have to do it again? Or a science experiment that ended in a bad result so you need to go back to procedure 1? A project, a drawing, or anything~ anything that you were doing but did not go well so you have no other choice but to do it again, over and over, not to mention that your only option was to finish it. Frustrating isn't it? Imagine how frustrated, irritated, desperate and tired Subaru was? Not to mention all the time he needed to go back just to witness the death/s of the people around him.
Lastly, [SPOILERS ALERT] Subaru's ability was actually a cursed from some witch, which he couldn't tell to anyone because everytime he tried to, the witch would squeezed his heart to the point that he could almost die. Out of desperation, he actually tried to tell it to someone but that someone died. Imagine how difficult it was for Subaru to face everything alone? No one could understand him not because he didn't want them to but because he COULDN'T. (cursed that witch I definitely wanted to tear her apart! 👹)
I've read a lot of comments from somewhere on how people disliked Subaru because he was a helpless, hopeless, useless boy. Because he did not have any special power or because he was weak. Well, after all he had been through, is he still useless?
Yes, he showed us the time when he almost quit even resorting into running away because he had failed so many times and thought that there was no other choice but to leave. He showed us his frustrations, desperations, helplesness and weaknesses, that he actually admitted and you hated. Well, on the other side of the note, I commend the writer for doing a great job because I believed that, that really what he wanted you to feel. Congratulations! You've been his victim! 🙊 Going back, Subaru really became a hateful character those times but if you are going to watch the anime and try to put your feet into Subaru's you will understand me or perhaps him.
He was disheartened for who knows how many times. He was fighting all by himself. Despite of having his friends and allies who supported him with his actions and especially to those who gave him courage and moral supports, no one really knows what he was going through. He was all ALONE. But still at the end of the day he would always proved to us how strong he was; mentally and emotionally, and that, stories only ends once you've reached the happy ending so life's goes on until you became happy! Quitting was never an option!
The only downside I've seen with him is that [MAJOR SPOILER] when he did not choose Rem despite of all the things she had done for him and even asked her to help her save Emilia, the woman he trully love. He was such a cruel man, a fact that actually Rem accepted and even told him outloud which he actually agreed with. However, despite of that, I still believed that he only showed how faithful he was to the woman he love. For me he was a man of word who knows how to fulfill his promises.
I'm sorry for defending Subaru so much but I really like how his character was made in this story. Everything, including his downsides, just fell rightly into the plot and that was something you wouldn't find mostly in the animes now a days. Another thing is that, I really liked how he could accept his own flaws but would still do something to compensate with it and not to be a burden to all the powerful people around him. He was the weakest but he was also the embodiment of willpower and unending hope which made him the strongest!
Story wise, as I've said, it was a very typical but was also different at the same time. It actually gave me the feeling that it was something that I've seen before but actually I haven't. I think it's because of how the story was narrated by using the main character. The writer was actually succesful in making me experience what the main character is going through, as if I am Subaru himself. Both of us learned things about the realm at the same time. Both of us believed that some things will happen, like on a typical story, but then will hit us the least that we have expected, as if both Subaru and I were played by fate. For example is what I have said from above, when Subaru first arrived on the kingdom and he thought that since he was summoned in a different world he would definitely have a super power, which made me believed also, but he actually never had. He also remained as an outsider, someone who do not hold so much of a power, a weak human with no special fighting ability except for his naturally strong body and an incredible amount of willpower. He was not revealed as a saviour but he made himself as the saviour of the kingdom. In the end, his journey to the other world actually made him a better man; wiser and stronger mentally and emotionally.
Overall, this story was very unique on its own way. Every seconds of each 25 episodes was worth watching as you wouldn't want to missed any sudden heart attack moments and important information that will be necessary for the future. It was actually a dark story that gets a little bit of depressing but would lighten up in the end. It's a complete pack of action, drama, suspense, mystery, romance and comedy with a bonus of life lessons and words of encouragement. YOU DON'T QUIT, YOU ONLY CHANGE YOUR PLAN and STORIES ALWAYS ENDS WITH HAPPY ENDING; It's not yet the end if it's not happy.
I can actually give this series a 10/10 score if not because of the hanging questions they left after the last episode. I hope this would be answered on the next season (if there will be!). I've heard that there will be an OVA but I don't think it will be enough to tackle everything and give the story a solid conclusion. This is the kind of anime that worth having more season! Anyway whether they'll decide to give it a season 2 or not I will still recognize this anime as one of the best I've watch for being unique and unpredictable as well as for having a well constructed story and characters.
Rating: 9/10 - highly recommended
