Farscape Rewatch - 2x07 and 2x08
Not my fave eps (in fact, 2x08 Dream a Little Dream is my least fave ep in the season and in my bottom three eps of the show) so not too much to say.
Home on the Remains 2x07
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The start of D’Argo x Chiana, a glorious secondary ship.
I love the visuals of the pollen floating through the ship. I love that you can never feel entirely comfortable with Zhaan because underneath her calm, even good demeanor, there is madness waiting to peep out and the show never lets you forget it. Here it really manifests when she is in starvation mode and it’s scary and surreal and oddly beautiful. For Zhaan, like for many other of the characters, being good, doing good is not the default - it’s a conscious, hard-won choice and I love that.  Second comment is that we get some glimpse into what Chiana’s life was before Moya, and why she was all spikes when she came on board. Her loyalty is manifest here as is her lack of self-worth: she is OK with whoring herself to get Zhaan a meal(!!!!!) (and I love how both John and D’Argo would much rather kill the guy). And so is her darkness: she kills the guy in a pretty gruesome way and doesn’t dwell on it for a second. I really do think she is the one who killed the Nebari keeper in the ep she first appeared. And also here is the start of Chi and D’Argo. I squealed at the kiss when I first saw it and get !!! on every rewatch. I loved how complicated this OTP was and how invested I was and how their flaws and strengths both intertwined into it.
And some of my fave quotes are here. I love Aeryn’s snide ‘I get to babysit the blooming blue bush and you get to play with your favorite little tralk’ and Crichton’s ‘you can eat anything if it’s fried’ is sort of a catchphrase in the Mousie household. I also love the scene with Rygel on the sled and Rygel biting John and John biting back. Yeah. This show was gloriously unhinged.
Not a favorite ep but enjoyable enough, which is more than I can say, with few exceptions for the ep that follows.
Dream a Little Dream 2x08
This is my most fast-forwarded S2 ep ever. Honest. Blah.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But even a truly bad ep has some glorious exchanges.
Anyway, this ep is largely a flashback by Zhaan about what happened to her, China and Rygel between end of s1 and start of s2. Zhaan goes crazy while being framed on planet of evil lawyers. Rygel and Chiana save her. Blah. End of flashback.
I’ve read someone say that the problem with this episode is that since it’s a flashback we have no tension. We know everyone will be OK. But I don’t think that is the case. After all, do we really expect Crichton et al to be bumped off at a random ep? No, but we still get excited about the eps (of course, DALD takes it further as we know everything will return to status quo we know now but still…) And we just a few eps ago had The Way We Weren’t which was largely set three years prior to the premiere episode and it’s one of the best eps of the season. For me, the flashback is not the problem. I think this is the ep that reiterated for me that while I find Zhaan and Rygel interesting in small dozes, an ep centered around them is not really my thing. And I love Chiana, but probably ditto unless she is interacting with someone other than them. Basically, my character order of preference goes: John, Aeryn, D’Argo, Chi etc etc. And an ep where my top 3 characters are absent (minus a very very cool hallucination) drags. The plot is also not scintillating. In fact, to call it simplistic with truly boring characters except for the regulars is to compliment it. Oh well, they can’t all be winners and Farscape had way less losers than most (after this ep, I adore every single ep until S4′s Coup by Clam - every single ep and that’s insane.) I do love Chiana and Rygel as trial lawyers, utterly hopped up and themselves in wiggle room exploitation. And the courtroom design is very neat. But that is about it.
Also, this is a small framing scene but I do love how, once again, John is the one who believes that talking it out helps. He gets more and more hardened but he still believes in talking it out, even if it’s now limited solely to those he loves (that is why in part the end of 2x22 DMD hits so hard - John lying there, agreeing to a procedure that will render him mute, because, as he says, there is nobody he want to talk to anyway and nothing to say. One of the worst times he’s been broken thoroughly; though he always manages to reassemble himself somehow.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do love Zhaan and John’s bond. I will always love Farscape for many reasons but one of them is creating all these powerful, complex women and not having them be love interests for the male lead. Crichton’s relationships with important female characters are varied - with Zhaan here she’s the older sister in so many ways - but except for Aeryn, they are never romantic, and very very rarely sexual (and if we remove Grayza where the sexual element is not by his choice, the rarity becomes even more pronounced) and I love that.

Chapter 9 and 10
Heyo folks taking a @journeythroughjourneytothewest
Had to take a break from book club last week, burn out was very bad. But I've had a week to relax, celebrated my birthday and slept most of the day lol. Let's get back into Journey to the West
First: Chapter 9.
We finally meet our Monk and learn the story of his family!
We don't spend a lot of time learning about them (minus his Dad, gets a thumbs up from me. Kind to all and easy going enough to be like "I got hit by a ball-- oh I'm married now? Okay cool". Like talk about a shotgun wedding), but we do see little bits that remind me of our Monk. He does share his kindness with his Dad, and I genuinely think his anxiety is from his mom. I'll talk about her in a minute because she is a whole other thing.
My one question is... wouldn't other officials notice that Liu Hong, essentially becoming Chen E, had no idea what he was doing??? He went on business trips, did no one recognize he wasn't who he said he was????? I mean you would think anyone who took the exams with him who got positions would be like "uh... that's not him tf??". Or they just did not care. Who knows at this point. Apparently he had Six Eared Macaque level disguise skill, rolled a nat 20 in bullshitery.
Now. Lady Yin. The poor lady went through hell for over 18 years. She had to watch her husband get murdered, had to abandon her baby, and had to play wife to a murderer. Even when her husband came back... I'm not surprised she still ended up passing. That's a lot of guilt (and I'm sure Liu Hong was not kind to her) on her mind for a LONG period of time, nearly two decades. I wish there was a happy ending for the family but I get why it ended how it did, knowing what depression and anxiety can do to people.
Now our baby Monk. Our Xuanzang. I am so proud of him for being as brave as he was. This recently turned 18 year old did everything he could to help his family. Licking his grandma's eyeballs was...a choice. But it was for a good cause so good on him. I can see why he was a good choice as the Scroll Pilgrim.
And as promised, a sketch of Xuanzang
Tumblr media
And as a bonus baby Monk with a doggo
Tumblr media
But now we move to Chapter 10.
...I legit got annoyed going thru the debate between the fisherman and woodman. Like it went on far longer than it should have. I'm sure there was a profound moment that we're supposed to glean from it but I just wasn't receptive to it. Maybe I'll read it again.
Anyway.
I have been doing some looking into of Chinese historical heroes (I desperately want to read Romance of the three kingdoms, and I need more reading material about folk heroes and heroines) so seeing some references to the stuff I learned made me happy. There was mention of Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang and the painting of The Emporer's Generals on the doors (supposedly the Tang dynasty is where this practice was first used. A few three kingdom folks also get this treatment as door gods, or menshen, along with other important heroes and deities. Makes me wonder if the Emperor essentially deified his Generals and Wei Zheng. How does Heaven handle that?)
Fun fact! In my jttw x mythology story Wukong will work with Asena, mythical wolf mother of the Ashina Clan of Gokturks. Guess which dynasty of China had to deal with them a lot? :)
Anyway.
I've also come to the conclusion that Dragons just like to fuck around and find out. Like, the Dragon King just goes against heaven's orders to spite a very accurate fortune teller, does not even THINK of the consequences, and is surprised Pikachu face when he gets in trouble. Also not sure why he thought appealing to an earthly emporer would save him from THE SUPREME DAOIST DEITY'S JUDGMENT. Like, y'all, I'm beginning to think dragons just don't give a crap or just don't think. Got what he deserved for being dumb. Did the emporer make promises he shouldn't have? No doubt, you don't promise supernatural beings anything because it will make you want to die if they catch wind of you breaking promises, regardless of nationality. Did he deserve what he got? .... I mean historically probably but in the sense of this story, no.
I find the Tang dynasty interesting (because it gave us a certain Empress and had some fun female warriors, like Taizong's sister, who helped her father found the dynasty) and I can definitely thank jttw for getting my attention about it.
I think that's all I have as far as thoughts. And I apologize if my rambles just jumped around too much lol.
Over and out ✌️

Every time I catch a glimpse of how much the ‘Ultimate Package’ costs (minus shipping, of course), I can’t help but think of all the more useful and fulfilling things that amount could buy you.
It could be a chunk towards a deposit on a house or a car, it could be a mini trip away or a nice restaurant meal, it could be a worthwhile treat… but instead your money is buying you really busy-looking pins, cheaply printed trading cards/playbill and a keyring that probably cost ten Cents to make in China.
Oh, that and early episodes that will likely be leaked/only release a week before the general release date anyway. Not worth it! Not with Ho Ho Ho season right around the corner either!
- Taxidermy Anon
Gotta be honest with you Taxidermy Anon, when I think of the people enthusiastically paying over 100 dollars for the cheapest, ugliest pins Vivzie's ever made, my first thought isn't "saves for a house/car" or "saves for mini trips or outings to nice restaurant" or "goes outside."

Sistersong by Lucy Holland
My sister’s heart broke on the river—and the river took it and bore it away. In the ancient kingdom of Dumnonia, there is old magic to be found in the whisper of the wind, the roots of the trees, and the curl of the grass. King Cador knew this once, but now the land has turned from him, calling instead to his three children. Riva can cure others, but can’t seem to heal her own deep scars. Keyne battles to be accepted for who he truly is—the king’s son. And Sinne dreams of seeing the world, of finding adventure. All three fear a life of confinement within the walls of the hold, their people’s last bastion of strength against the invading Saxons. However, change comes on the day ash falls from the sky. It brings with it Myrdhin, meddler and magician. And Tristan, a warrior whose secrets will tear them apart. Riva, Keyne and Sinne—three siblings entangled in a web of treachery and heartbreak, who must fight to forge their own paths. Their story will shape the destiny of Britain.

BASICS
hometown: yixing, jiangsu provence, china
eye color: brown
hair color: black
height: 5′7
sexuality: bisexual
birthday: march 2, 1988 ( pisces )
BIO
phoenixes have never been quite as romanticized, or feared, as other immortal creatures. fangsu doesn’t consider herself a monster in the conventional sense...at least not for obvious reasons. there is something monstrous in the idea of watching everyone you love die while you continue on life after life. and, luckily for fang, it is just an idea. for now. she was born in the eighties and has yet to die, which almost makes her feel like a normal person.
minus the fireballs and flying and magical tears but those are all things that are pretty easy to hide. fangsu actually finds her phoenix form to be exceptionally beautiful, but it also only highlights her loneliness.
which is why she jumped at the chance to come to nl! even if they don’t understand what it’s like to be her, at least they know what she is. which isn’t something she generally shares with humans. well, she did once, and that was a terrible mistake.
like all good fairytales, it started with true love. and loyal to the brothers grimm’s formula, it featured a tragic death. almost. fangsu has been in love only once, and it ended with heartbreak. not because he died, but because he didn’t. when it seemed he was fatally injured, the tears came freely, and along with them, his life was saved.
happily ever after, right? unfortunately, instead of thanking her for saving his life, he was repulsed that she was actually a monster all along. she was a liar, playing god, and all her success as a doctor was due to magic instead of hard work. nevermind that being a phoenix hadn’t helped her at all in studying for exams and earning her degrees, but anyway!
she’s happy to lend a hand in the infirmary, healing people more like herself than any human could ever be. it’s also sort of a challenge for herself, getting to work around individuals who heal differently than her usual patients and also have wild ass injuries comparatively
RANDOM FACTS
she feels almost...guilty when she cries? like her tears are going to waste?? so when she does cry, she tries to save her tears, but mostly she keeps her walls up and always tries to mask her emotions so she’s slow to express her feelings #healthy
that said, she’s really kind, likes helping people and the idea that she can make a difference in someone’s life but she can seem kind of reserved, she def filters her thoughts and chooses her words carefully which can come off kind of calculating something
fangsu was a working doctor in china and moved to the states for a fellowship or something idk :) a few years ago. so her english is still a work in progress but she’s been getting a lot of practice in the past few years
nicknames include fang or su, but she’s gone by fangsu for most of her life so that’s how she introduces herself always
POSSIBLE CONNECTIONS
a dragon friend or frenemy for the power of it all
mentees in the medical track but also infirmary colleagues/pals!
some sort of internet/pen friend connection from when she was younger (depending on how old your muse is, could be from when she was in high school or college!) i think she’s the type to strike up a friendship with someone english speaking in order to get better at her reading/writing skills
that One Person she kind of opens up to. unpaid therapist...sorry about that

Battery Recycling Unveiled: Navigating the Green Revolution Roadmap
Hey there, eco-warriors and sustainability enthusiasts! Today, we’re diving deep into the thrilling world of battery recycling. Forget about those ‘unveiling’ ceremonies; we’re about to unravel the secrets of this booming industry with a splash of humor and a dash of sarcasm. Buckle up for a ride that’s more fun than a barrel of monkeys (and definitely more eco-friendly)!
Tumblr media
The Shocking Stats:
Hold on to your reusable shopping bags! The global battery recycling market is flexing its green muscles at a jaw-dropping USD 22.03 billion as of December 2023. How did we arrive at this number? No, it’s not the work of battery-powered AI overlords — it’s the result of some serious digging by SkyQuest’s ABIRAW (we promise it’s not an alien code).
Chemistry Shenanigans:
In this battery bash, it’s all about chemistry — the Lead-Acid Based Batteries are stealing the limelight, growing faster than a plant on steroids at 10.5% CAGR. Move over, lithium-ion; it’s Lead-Acid’s time to shine in the recycling spotlight. It’s like the Oscars, but for batteries.
Global Rollercoaster:
Our adventure doesn’t stop there — we’re on a world tour! Asia Pacific is rocking the recycling stage, led by powerhouses like China, Japan, and South Korea. North America is not far behind, with the United States and Canada doing the recycling cha-cha. It’s a global battery dance-off, and everyone’s invited.
Driving Forces and Roadblocks:
Why the fuss about recycling batteries? Blame it on the electric vehicles and our sudden crush on renewable energy. The market is revving up like a Tesla on autopilot. But, (and there’s always a ‘but’), recycling is no walk in the park. The cost of recycling methods has us scratching our heads — turns out, dealing with battery chemistry is trickier than explaining memes to your grandparents.
For More Information: https://www.skyquestt.com/report/battery-recycling-market
Safety First (Always):
Beware — spent batteries can be more dangerous than a cat with a laser pointer. They’re filled with acids, mercury, lead, and other heavy metals, making them a potential health hazard. If you’re thinking of juggling batteries, think again.
Comedic Company Profiles:
Now, let’s meet the superheroes of battery recycling — from LI-CYCLE CORP (who needs vowels anyway?) to Redwood Materials, Inc. These companies are tackling the battery waste problem like bosses, minus the capes. Who said saving the planet couldn’t be cool?
Conclusion:
As we wrap up this rollercoaster through the battery recycling jungle, one thing is crystal clear — it’s a world of challenges, growth, and a hint of environmental responsibility. So, next time you toss a dead battery, know that there’s a whole industry out there turning it into something useful. Hats off to the battery recyclers — the unsung heroes of our tech-driven world!
And there you have it — a blog that’s as humanly humorous as navigating a sea of batteries can get. Stay charged, eco-champions!

I wrote 120 delivery notes in 15 years in the coldest town in China
Tumblr media
On the land of China, there are countless Li  HE Tuber Tianyus. Like cacti, they take root and grow in inconspicuous corners. With resilience, they break out of their own world and protect their hometown.
Huzhong Town in the Daxinganling Mountains of Heilongjiang Province is known as the "coldest town in the country". At the coldest time, the temperature reaches below minus 50 degrees Celsius. Dong Feifei is a native of Huzhong. In her memory, her hometown was "in full swing" when she was a child. There were many people in the town. The villagers were logging, the saws were sounding, and her fathers would go to the mountains to pick wild blueberries and cranberries. , we also go fishing in the river, and in winter we go hunting pheasants and rabbits. The children go out to hit the ice sledge, climb to the top of the mountain to play, and make snowmen. The days are ordinary and warm.
But young and energetic people always yearn for the outside world. Like some young people, when she grew up, she left the small town and went to the bustling big city to seek life. However, her father fell ill not long after she started working. She was far away from home, so she sent home the money she saved to let her father know that she could make money, which was also a comfort.
The life of working in other places is very restrictive and uncomfortable. She often thinks of the stars in the sky in her hometown, the hares in the mountains, the wild fish in the river, and misses the small town that makes people calm.
Three years later, her father died suddenly, which devastated her. Thinking that she had neither given her parents enough money nor given them good company, she no longer wanted to live a life separated from her family, so she resolutely embarked on the road home to accompany her mother who was alone at home.
But companionship also requires considering real livelihood. How to support yourself and let your mother live a comfortable life? In 2007, she started an e-commerce business and became one of the first local people to engage in e-commerce. She listed the product in her online store and sold one Ganoderma lucidum in less than a week. That day, she was so excited that she stayed up all night.
But the folks don't see it that way. Some people thought that she came back after she could no longer survive outside. For a while, Dong Feifei "felt a little unable to hold her head up." The villagers didn’t understand what e-commerce was. When relatives and neighbors saw her always shipping goods without getting the money back, they questioned whether her business was legal and legitimate. Some people reminded her, “Don’t be fooled.” ".
But she has a tenacity and insists on being an e-commerce business, because "we can all buy things online, and we will definitely be able to sell things." There were many difficulties on the road to starting a business. At that time, she couldn't even change the simple price and asked the buyer how to change it.
"If you don't learn, you will have to be told everything by others, and then you will not understand many things in the future." She kept the buyer's words in mind and plunged into learning.
Since there was no one around her to ask for advice, she searched online and learned bit by bit. It was often only after she understood it that she discovered that such a simple thing had taken so long.
Persistence finally paid off. After receiving the first payment, she took her mother out for a big meal—a bowl of beef noodles—to celebrate the feasibility of starting a business. Along the way, her income gradually increased. She could earn 900 yuan in the first month, 1,200 yuan in the second month, 1,800 yuan in the third month... Later, her monthly income exceeded 10,000 yuan. She said that starting a business is indeed You can make money.
A year later, Dong Feifei's online store has improved slightly. She and her mother moved to Jiagedaqi District, where transportation is more convenient, to continue their e-commerce business.
She offers a higher than traditional purchase price to purchase mountain goods from the villagers, so that their hard work can be exchanged for more income. The mountains and rivers of her hometown are also warming her up. For a while, she had sprained her feet and did not go to collect mountain goods. She thought that her uncle and aunt, who were in poor condition at home, had sold the roses. Unexpectedly, she found out after she went there that the old couple had specially kept them for her. My heart feels warm.
The warmth comes not only from the folks, but also from a note. For 15 years, she kept a notebook of her shipping orders. The store is not big, so she handwritten 120 delivery notes. She thought that when she was old, she would take it out and open it page by page. On it would be the footprints of her entire youth and struggle.
That is the memorial she left to herself and the best proof of her resilience along the way.

Low Cost Movers
There is certainly not one part associated with moving that is enjoyment, and one of the very most annoying things about moving is the expenses which can be generally involved. Minus the lot to shift, you can usually find a half great deal truck and complete anything in one weight. But, if a person are moving the entire lifetime value of memories, you will want to help make sure that those things you love are in the arms of professional movers who will handle them like their very own property. You also make sure that will you don't spend an arm and a leg intended for the services involving professional movers. In case you are relocating you will find things you can do in order to make sure you receive the best costs for moving businesses. One of the best things an individual can do is usually to benefit from the solutions of movers. Exactly what Movers or Transferring Companies Can Do intended for You Open upward your Yellow Internet pages to movers, and you will locate that the amount of companies listed is almost mind-boggling. It could take days, even weeks to get price quotes from every mover in the area, and this kind of is definitely way as well much work for anyone to do, especially with each of the additional things that should be done in planning for your shift. There are a few websites to complete out a very simple form and you will be offered reports about a number of shifting companies, including their very own rates. This is usually going to save a person a lot involving time, and make the choice a great deal easier, because you will have all of the what you need appropriate at your disposal. This is some sort of lot easier than surfing through the Yellow Pages or the particular Internet, because movers have already hand-selected some sort of number of transferring companies and include done the study so they may offer you all of the information a person need to learn within order to select the right emocionar. The standards will be high but fair, and you could always end up being assured that you will not necessarily end up inside of the hands regarding some cut-rate mover that does the inadequate job. Most moving companies give great service in order to their customers. You are able to be sure that any information you get about various moving companies is constantly going to be the most advanced information available. This kind of is because every moving company is definitely re-evaluated every calendar month and all details is updated as soon as it is received. Your skill to Create Your Move Also Easier Once a person have chosen the right moving company for the particular moving needs, there happen to be things you could do to make sure that almost everything goes smoothly about moving day, and that the process is not hard for everybody involved. Below are a few of the things a person should do before moving day, which are usually going to enable you to and your movers: Packing: Never depart packing things right up until the last second, apart from for the things that you need right up until it is the perfect time to move, such since dinnerware and utensils (if you can use paper china and plastic utensils for a small while, get almost all this packed way up too). The more you could have done in advance of time, the less you can have to concern yourself with on moving day. Most movers is not going to move things that aren't packed, or which are not properly loaded. Mark all boxes: It is extremely helpful to be able to your movers if you have every single box marked intended for the room it is to end up being in. For instance , if a box is usually packed with tableware, be sure that it states "kitchen. " You should also indicate any boxes which have breakable items as "fragile" so the particular movers know to take extra caution when moving these people.
Tumblr media
Provide directions: Help to make sure that the movers have exact directions to your current location and the location you may be moving to. Not what you want on moving day is definitely to have any kind of confusion, and also have your things find yourself where they are not really supposed to be. Also, you should visit the fresh location beforehand plus make sure that the doors usually are unlocked. This way, in the event that you have additional things to perform, the movers will get inside with your possessions. You can have a lot of the emphasize associated with moving once you have a moving company that you're confident in. Using the services of transferring companies, you can easily be assured that you will possess the absolute finest movers in typically the industry, with the overall best price. Then, all you have got to do is get everything packed, and even sit back and let someone else carry out all the heavy lifting and efforts for you.

Delving into the archives, the designer has reworked Thomas Burberry’s initials into a new emblem for the model. You’ll discover this TB monogram throughout our edit of Burberry belts. Italian-tanned black and brown leather-based is accentuated with new and traditional house signatures, including the Thomas Burberry monogram as a clasp and a pattern, ‘Kingdom’ slogans and the Vintage verify. It began, after all, with Thomas Burberry's invention of gabardine, but it did not stop there. The brand is continually trying new things and has adapted very quickly to the fashionable digital world. wikipedia handbags According to the South China Morning Post, Burberry was the primary trend brand to live-stream fashion reveals, which it did in 2009. The British trend home of Burberry was founded by dressmaker Thomas Burberry in 1856. Burberry is closely built-in into British history, with its trench coats and nova examine patterns recognisable worldwide. These infamous checks feature on their style, sunglasses, and luxurious purses. The model provides conventional and innovative style for informal and occasional gown. I was given a stunning black trench coat and it doesn't have the belt. I am a skilled seamstress and it did not even happen to me to cut off the hemline. How would the the Allies go about a darling that rejected, but the darling seems scared when they did. Not scared of them but something else. Before the nations can do anything, The darling fearfully tells them to stay away from them, because they don't want to see them get hurt or worse killed. After that they ran away. After a good 2 weeks of the darling avoiding them. The Nations go threaten ask the darling's friends what's going on. The darling's friends has told them they have this crazy stalker (Yandere) that's been threatening them and hurting the people they care about. So what are the Allies going to do when they find out that the darling only rejected them to keep them safe and that they actually do love and care about them; that and they have another Yandere after them.
Aph America -   Alfred F. Jones
Alfred would honestly feel offended. What does this mean, babe? Did you think that he was weak and couldn’t protect you? Okay, he knew that you were pretty awesome, but still! He has been training to try and impress you, so, he is even stronger than before! Please, some stalker isn’t going to stop him. Without a second thought, he would kill the fuck! And if it’s a country, he is a big country, he could wage war and put that country into its place! Honestly, Alfred would find your reasoning for not accepting his love very stupid and would punish you after getting rid of the problem. Losing half of the people that you considered close was good enough punishment, right?
Aph England -  Arthur Kirkland
Arthur wasn’t physically all that strong, that’s why he knew that he couldn’t win against the person in a physical fight, especially if the stalker is someone who is strong like Ludwig. Because of that, he would find different ways of getting rid of your stalker. For example, a poisoned cup of tea, or poisoned food. Worst-case scenario, he could just poison that area's water supply. Yes, many people would die, but if it gets the job done, who cares, yes? Everything is fair in love and war.  After the problem would be taken care of, he would move on to punish you. Avoiding him without telling him anything? You think he was not going to punish you for such a thing? I hope you are ready for some heavy psychological torture because he needs to teach you some new rules, it seems...
Aph France - Francis Bonnefoy
Francis would be horrified, and understanding. It must have been so frightening! He really isn’t sure what to do though... He isn’t that strong, and he isn’t talented in assassinating people in different ways... Oh, wait! He could just hire someone to kill them! Very easy! And if it’s a country, he could make up some lies and deliver them to both Ivan and Alfred, so that country would be destroyed by the two idiots! Don’t worry, he will save you! Afterward, he would officially ask you out, and he hopes you finally accept otherwise.. Well, after what he managed to do, he isn’t going to be a pushover anymore, willing to hurt you to get you.
Aph China -  Yao Wang
Yao would say that it’s nonsense! Just give him a day or two and that person will disappear. He is a martial arts master, and you need to remember that he has a very loyal family that would do anything just to make him proud. Not even talking about them actually being very talented at martial arts, minus Kiku.. He’s the only one who wanted to be different.  Afterward, Yao would feel very proud, having another reason to show off and explain why he was the perfect partner for you. I mean, he dealt with the problem almost immediately. Now, there is no reason to reject him anymore, yes?
Aph Russia -  Ivan Braginsky
Ivan would nod, smiling and saying that you didn’t need to worry about the problem. He will go and make sure that the little person is crushed. No mercy for someone who scares his little rabbit. He is the most brutal with his execution, seeing as he will beat the person to death with his metal pipe and won’t hold back at all. After Ivan returns, he wouldn’t even ask if you want to be together, as he isn’t going to let you escape. Clearly, you were attracting very bad people, so, to keep you safe, he is going to lock you up in his small cabin, so the two of you can be together happily.
Aph Canada -  Matthew Williams
Matthew would be completely enraged. Both with you and him. What, you think he is not enough of a man to protect you? Just watch! He will prove to you that he is enough of a man to protect you and after he is done, he will make sure to punish you for ever doubting you. It seems you were like everyone else and didn’t see his true potential.  When he is done beating the person to death with a hockey stick, he returns to take you away. He was nice before but he won’t anymore. He will take you somewhere far away and teach you what happens when you doubt his skills. I mean, he is even stronger than Alfred! He could have killed the person in seconds!

Could you expand on Korea's military service? I know it's mandatory, just curious on the system :)
First off, I want to start by telling you that every single Korean male individual, minus the special cases, has served in the military.
Every. Single. One.
My dad, my grandpa, my uncle, my distant cousin - you get the idea. It’s existed since 1957, and back then it was men from the ages 18-35, I believe, who had to serve. (It’s 18-28 now, I’m pretty sure)
Women are not required to join, but if they wish to, they are free to.
The length of the service depends on what branch you’re in (e.g. Navy, Air Forces, etc.) but it is now around 18 months. This is actually one of the longest mandatory military services in the world, but it used to be like 2 years (according to my dad, he served for about 2 ½).
So why did Korea make military service mandatory?
People who don’t know Korean history or are just fucking ignorant and their mind is just “fuck the military” like ahem some blog, are always making this such a big fucking problem without understanding the reason. Pro-tip #1 - If you’re not from the country, don’t judge their culture without doing research. Or just don’t judge them! At all!
Korea’s historically been invaded by so many people and has been threatened by so many countries (e.g. Japan, Russia, China), and then the fucking States, who helped us in the Korean War, tried to take control of us, and we still have military business with them that gives me a fucking headache, so let’s not get into that.
Why? Korea’s just… in a really ideal position for the “major powers” to expand their territory. We’re like smack dab in the middle of Japan, Russia, China, etc. etc. Causes us a lot of fucking grief. Also for a small country, we have lots of resources and land that is ideal for something. I honestly don’t remember.
Back to the military, the importance of us having people that were ready to fight at all times became incredibly apparent after the Korean War. We were still at war with North Korea up until 2018. Let that sink in. 2018. Not only did we have to remain conscious of the “enemy countries” that surrounded us, now we had to stay alert to that pig up north who liked nuclear weapons and war and blood. We were connected by the DMZ to North Korea, and we didn’t know when they would restart their attacks.
Now for the special cases, men who have suffered physical or mental trauma, are the head of the family (i.e. have to earn money for the family), have behavioural issues, are exempt from the military.
That being said, they may apply for alternative military service, as a social service agent. The more famous case of this is Heechul, who was exempt from military service due to injuries from a car accident, but still served as a social service agent.
Athletes may be exempt from military service if they win gold in the Asian Games, or if they win a medal in the Olympics. The football team in the 2018 Asian Games got exempt from military service because they had won gold, which is why Heungmin only had to complete basic training, and by winning the fucking thing, he saved his career. If he had lost, thinking about it makes MY life flash before my eyes, he would’ve been gone for a year and a half, excluding the basic training.
Finally, if you refuse to join the military when they send you a little letter telling you to sign up, you’re going to jail. Like goodbye, you didn’t fulfill your duties as a Korean citizen. Technically, if you live/study overseas, and you have been gone since before you hit 18, you won’t have to do your military service as long as you don’t live in Korea until you’re 30.
Outspokenobserver, are you seeing this? Are you ashamed? Are you crying because Heungmin took part in a racist and terrible system that he would’ve gone to jail for if he didn’t comply?

Ashes Chapter 7: The Sea
Pairing: Liu Kang x Reader
With time comes understanding, to a point. At the very least comes understanding. You have some revelations and in the ocean, you find some peace. Also- you are take the worst selfie ever.
A/N: This story had been heartbreaking to write, but also a ton of fun? There's a tiny little reprieve in this chapter and the next and then right back to sadsville! Thanks for reading. I appreciate you guys and would give you all hugs and smooches if I could and it wasn't a pandemic Lol. Did you know that USBs can disintegrate? So, you know, back up your work in more than one place.
First Chapter << Previous Chapter Next Chapter >> Chapter Index
You barely slept. Liu had come in a little while after you and hadn’t said a word though you had caught his eyes on you at least a dozen times. Neither of you had really slept, you supposed. Before sunrise you’d given up on sleep and got up. You cleaned up in the small washroom and then went outside to meditate.
The woods were peaceful.
The mountains were peaceful.
You were not. But you had time to reflect.
You tried to think about literally anything else besides the arguments with Liu Kang from the past two nights, but it was nearly impossible.
Wasn’t it unhealthy of you to even consider what Liu Kang was suggesting? Your long-term very serious relationship had just ended, and it had only ended because he had died. Then again, you weren’t sure what would have happened with Liu if he hadn’t put himself in a place of lesser significance than Kung Lao.
Because with reflection, you’d realized that was what he had done. And it was something that he had always done ever since you’d known him.
Kung Lao. Descendant of the Great Kung Lao. The Chosen One. A man who had been raised since his youth to embody the spirit of the champion who had saved Earthrealm many years ago. Liu Kang had put him on a pedestal. He’d been taught to.
He was just a filthy orphan. He’d even used those exact words to describe himself. Liu Kang was second place- even to himself. Then when Kung Lao had come to him regarding you, he’d done the same thing. Put himself in second place. He’d even said that he hadn’t deserved you.
Your meditation was ruined.
Dammit.
Why hadn’t you noticed before? If he had just told you any part of the truth all those years ago, then you would have grabbed his shoulders, shaken him, and told him he was just as worthy of love and praise as Kung Lao was. But that wasn’t what he’d done. He’d chosen to put a wedge between you.
“The past is just that.” You had to remind yourself. You couldn’t go back in time and erase what had happened. There was no way to know what would have become of you if you had pushed Liu Kang a little further than you had back then. It had been so unlike him to behave that way but you’d also been terrified that he would say exactly what he’d said. He’d fulfilled your self-doubt and fears without realizing.
It had broken you. You hadn’t had it in you to push him.
You’d instead agreed to go out with Kung Lao and that had started a wonderful relationship. But you had also started it when you’d been broken. It had taken time for you to open up to Kung Lao about anything, to be intimate with him, to connect and all because you had been broken up about Liu Kang. Kung Lao had been patient with you and you supposed that was because he had known that Liu Kang was stepping out of the way for him.
Hindsight was everything in this instance.
An unfamiliar energy joined you nearby, seated a few feet away from you. Nightwolf. He was calming. You sat in silence and watched as the sun rose beyond the trees, spreading its radiance over unfamiliar but still beautiful terrain. You cleared your mixed thoughts of Liu Kang, of Kung Lao, and of guilt.
You were there to work, not to sort out your baggage. Part of you considered that Raiden had sent you together to work out your baggage but who knew anymore? It didn’t matter. You quieted your brain and focused only on the sunrise.
Nightwolf had something to say. You could feel it but you would also allow him the time to find the words that suited him. You hoped it was soon. Silence was unkind.
Finally, he turned to you.
Thank god. If he talked then your brain would stop filling the silence.
“I’ve decided meet your Lord Raiden at your request.”
“Really?” You made no effort to hide your surprise. Honestly, you and Liu were making all the wrong impressions on people lately so you wouldn’t have been surprised if he’d said no or needed more time. If that had been the case then Liu Kang would have… you stopped your thought. You had no idea what Liu Kang would have done. He wasn’t himself those past few weeks.
It stung to think that.
You wanted him to be okay. You wanted him to be okay more than you wanted yourself to be okay. If you had to suffer every day in grief for the rest of your life for him to be okay, then you would have. So much for your brain shutting up.
“Like you said last night, it’s the right thing to do. I don’t wish to leave my home but if doing so means protecting it? Then it’s worth it.”
“Thank you.” You breathed a sigh of relief. He was so reasonable and kind. You hoped that you got to know him a bit better when you got back to China. He seemed like a good guy. At least this one thing had gone right, though you were certain that it was because Nightwolf was a good man and not because you and Liu had done an exceptionally good job of convincing him. You’d spent time with him, of course, but your collective energy was a total mess. “Do you need time to make arrangements for your home?” Honestly, you were ready to leave right now. Then you could head to Hollywood.
Maybe Liu wouldn’t come with you and you could have some space and time to think. Then again, you were now incredibly concerned about Liu Kang and wanted to make sure that he was okay. Your handling of the arguments had been poor, at best. It was difficult to be kind to yourself and remind yourself that you were struggling too.
“I packed all that I should need.” He smiled as if reading your thoughts and you nodded.
“Thank you, Nightwolf.”
“The decision was an easy one when I thought about it. What was the alternative, really? To ignore the truth? Live life knowing that I could have done something great for my people? For our world?”
“Well, when you put it that way…” You drifted off with a smile and watched the sun as it settled just amongst the trees. Perhaps today would be a good day.
“Just say the word and we can head on our way. The hike will take us another three days and…”
“Yeah, about that.” You explained briefly that you would be summoned to Raiden’s Temple and that you didn’t have to worry about typical means of travel. It was difficult to explain why you had hiked to see him but wouldn’t be hiking back. Raiden could have very well done many of the things you’d done himself but the reasons he didn’t were his own. You could guess but your brain was exhausted by speculation right now and there was no point.
Liu Kang joined you partway through your explanation and sat politely after greeting you both. He was more like himself that morning and you were glad for that. He didn’t jump down anyone’s throat or interrupt you even once. He even offered you a soft smile and gave words of gratitude to Nightwolf. You left them to gather your things and soon enough, you were having breakfast and then going on your way.
Back outside, Liu Kang stood before you and with a flourish of fire that startled Nightwolf he prayed for safe passage. A crack of lightning burst blindingly before you, offering you passage through.
“You can stay for the moment if you like.” Liu placed a gentle hand on your forearm and then escorted an impressed and surprised Nightwolf into the lightning. You were surprised that he hadn’t hesitated to walk into it. Your first time had been Liu Kang practically carrying you through it while you rattled off the reasons it was a terrible and impractical means of travel.
“Good luck.” You bowed politely to Nightwolf who wished you well. They disappeared into the bolt of lightning, leaving you alone again with only your thoughts to keep you company. God, you were tired of your thoughts. They were exhausting. You wished you could have a break from your brain.
The woods were still and silent minus the wind rustling through the trees. You sat atop one of the logs surrounding the abandoned firepit and considered that it felt lonely there without Nightwolf’s presence. You hoped that whatever came next regarding Outworld and Mortal Kombat, that he would be okay. He was a good man.
Lightning struck behind you and you half-expected Raiden to be the one to greet you but instead it was Liu Kang. He walked to join you after the lightning had disappeared and sat next to you. The tension was instantly awkward and nervous between you. You had so many things that you wanted to say to him, to ask him, but you said none of them.
Liu Kang was a wonderful man.
A good man. A brilliant and studious disciple. A skilled and dazzling warrior. An excellent listener. A good friend. A tremendous lover. And still he seemed to think that his place was in the service of others. Another outstanding trait, except that it meant he thought he was worthy of very little. Then he’d finally thought of himself enough to tell you truths that he’d hidden and you’d panicked.
Worse than that? You were too exhausted to say any of that to him. You expected it to be a fight if you did.
It appeared that Liu Kang was exhausted too. When you caught his face in the morning sun, you could see his weariness and the depths of thought behind his dark eyes. He turned as if feeling you studying him and you locked eyes briefly before both turning away. There were volumes left unsaid between you but you took his hand without thinking and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
You would be okay.
One way or another, you would be okay.
Time was what you needed. But you also thought that was what you’d needed with Kung Lao too and then that time had been stolen from you. You didn’t want that to happen again either but you didn’t know how to fix what had broken with Liu Kang. You wanted to fix it so badly but you didn’t even know what fixing it meant.
You only knew that you wanted him to be okay.
He squeezed your hand in return before letting go and standing. You joined him, urging your bag onto your back. “To Hollywood?” Your voice felt dusty, creaky, like a door that hadn’t been opened in eons. Only minutes had passed but it was enough time for the mood to have shifted.
“Yes.” Liu bowed his head but avoided your eyes. “Whenever you’re ready.”
“Nightwolf was okay without us being there?”
“Yes. You were right. He made the right choice for the right reasons. I should have given him the time and explanation he deserved.” He walked away from you and you watched him go. “I didn’t want to go to Hollywood. I asked Raiden just to send you.”
Oh.
That was fair, you supposed.
It hurt for a second before you could picture him in your head telling Raiden that he didn’t want to hurt you anymore so he would stay behind. Falling on his sword again and again to protect the interests of everyone but himself.
“He insisted?”
“Yes. Apparently, this actor is a handful.”
“Didn’t think I could do it alone? Jax and Sonya are already there.”
“And Cole.”
Ah, yes. The man that Kung Lao had died to protect. You hadn’t met him in person yet. He’d rallied your friends when they had needed it and had saved Liu Kang from his grief. You dreaded seeing them. Seeing new people meant that they would walk on eggshells around you. They would ask you how you were coping. You’d have to explain for the millionth time that grief was something you learned to live alongside rather than overcame. Then the tremendous guilt that came with the attention of it all. Liu Kang had lost his brother. You were sure that he was going through something similar but people seemed to act more sympathetically toward you.
“You ready?” You didn’t know what else to ask. He didn’t want to be there and whether the reason was you, the others, or just disliking California, you felt awkward. You wanted him to have his space and to grieve the way he needed to. That was all you wanted. But Raiden, apparently, had other ideas.
You admired the sunny sky one last time before you joined him as he summoned the lightning that would take you across the country.
You arrived on the beach.
You could hear people chattering in the distance. It was amazing that no one had seen you. You supposed that Raiden was a god and knew where to put you but the whole thing still dazzled you. Years of traveling by his hand and you had never once gotten used to it. You hoped that it always surprised you.
Liu walked toward the water instead of toward the road on the other side. You were still a bit away from Hollywood and you didn’t know where you were going. You assumed that Raiden had told Liu but you also imagined that where you were headed wasn’t toward the water. There was nothing there but dark ocean under gray skies.
You watched as he made his way down the wooden steps of the boardwalk and onto the beach and then hung your head back toward the sky and prayed. You prayed for peace for Liu Kang, prayed for the patience to get through whatever came after your last horrible confrontation. He’d said you’d owed it to yourselves to figure it out. Figure whatout? If you still had feelings for him? It was clear that he did for you and the very thought gave you goosebumps that you had to mentally work to shake off before following him into the sand. You took off your shoes and followed him.
The sand was warm between your toes despite the overcast skies and chilly breeze. Pulling the smartphone from your pocket, you took a picture of Liu Kang standing just before the water line in the sand where the waves were currently lapping at low tide. He was beautiful and so you turned away and put the phone back in your pocket. You were grateful now for the camera in the phone. That was one thing that you regretted not having over the years.
How many pictures did you have of Kung Lao?
One.
From your first date. He’d asked someone on the street after dinner to take a photo for you on a throwaway camera you’d bought on a whim during your previous trip. Most of those photos had been of random things that had made you laugh, sites you’d visited, or important things that you’d had to show Raiden but couldn’t bring with you. Except for the one photograph from your date, that was.
You wouldn’t let that happen again. Even if you and Liu were in a complex place, you wanted pictures of him. Of you together. You decided to steal another one and as you were admiring it on the screen, Liu Kang joined you at your side. You fumbled with the phone, dropped it in the sand, and before you picked it up, Liu was doing it for you.
He dusted off the screen and handed it back to you. He didn’t ask you why you’d been admiring a photo of him, but you swore you caught just the slightest hint of a smile on his lips. “I missed the ocean.” He gestured toward the water. “Didn’t mean to sidetrack us.”
“Do you think Raiden would be furious with us if we just… sat on the beach all day?”
“Maybe. Are you going to tell him if we did?”
“…only if I’m mad at you.” You smiled and he shook his head before turning his gaze back toward the water. He’d earned the shore. The waves. Even just for putting up with you the night before.
Liu Kang sat in the sand, legs folded. You sat next to him, careful to make sure there was a little distance between you. Maybe you could be at peace next to each other if neither one of you opened your mouths. You took a picture of the ocean.
He watched you curiously as if to silently ask why you were suddenly taking so many pictures. So much for not talking. You just hoped that you didn’t end up screaming at each other on the beach. This place was peaceful and you so rarely had peace. You were sure that soon enough you would be amidst chaos. You had earned this moment.
“I didn’t have any pictures of Kung Lao.” You explained when he didn’t let it go. He nodded as if to understand but you saw his brow furrow, as though he wondered whether or not he had any pictures of him either. “I have one, I guess. But it’s old and poorly shot and I… I don’t want to forget his face. I don’t want to forget anyone’s faces. You enjoyed the ocean so much just now and now… now I have that picture forever.” You’d said too much which was just like you.
“Can I see?” He held his hand out for the phone and you offered it reluctantly. What if he deleted them? Maybe he didn’t want pictures of him. It was a silly thing, but you had been desperate to see Kung Lao’s face one more time and all you’d had was one blurry picture where you’d gone on your first date and your damn heart had been broken after Liu Kang so you hadn’t even looked happy in the picture. Kung Lao, however, had looked incredibly happy, even if his face had been blurry.
Kung Lao was rarely the type to sit still, especially when you were out and about in the world. The picture was an accurate portrayal of him at the time.
“You look sad.” Liu Kang handed the phone back to you and much to your surprise, he’d taken a picture of you. You definitely did look sad. You hadn’t meant to wear your heart so obviously on your sleeve. “I don’t want to forget your face either, Y/N.” In a gut reaction, you covered your mouth and stared back at the water and felt your eyes burn with tears. They were threatening to turn into sobs but you refused to cry. You were sure that you looked ridiculous, contorted, and trying to hold back tears. “I don’t want you to look sad.”
It took you a solid few minutes to keep yourself from just bursting into tears. “Well, I’m sad.” You decided there was no point in lying when you’d been broken up about it so obviously. “But so are you. Maybe it’s okay to have pictures where we look sad.”
“Maybe.” He scooted closer to you in the sand. “Take a picture with me.”
“Why? To have proof of how miserable we’ve made each other in the last week?” You turned the camera around on the phone after struggling to figure out the buttons.
“What? You don’t want to relive us screaming at each other every time you look at it?” His smile was weary.
“Already reliving it pretty consistently without photographic proof, Liu.”
“We should talk.”
“I know.”
“I’m afraid of what you’ll say.”
“Yeah, that scares me too.”
“What you’ll say? Or what I’ll say because I feel like we’re doing a lot of talking without thinking lately which is unlike both of us.”
“I have always had a hard time with that. You maybe think too much before you talk.” You tried to lighten the mood and he at least laughed a little, even if it was just beneath his breath. You adjusted the camera and Liu carefully took it from your hand before aiming the screen toward you both.
“…how do I do this?” He tried to adjust his hand so he could take the picture while he held it and so you reached to do so instead and took the least flattering picture that either one of you had ever taken. “Try that again.”
“That isn’t how you want to remember us?” You pointed to the little preview in the bottom corner of the screen.
“Not at all.”
You were terrible with technology, it turned out, but together you figured it out and took a nicer picture. “…we both look sad.” You sighed and put the phone back into your pocket, pulling your jacket tighter around your shoulders. The ocean breeze was surprisingly chilled. He nodded to agree and you watched him for longer than you should have. Even sad, he was handsome.
Even when he’d been fighting with you the night before, he’d accused you of thinking more about the memory of Kung Lao than your own feelings. But your feelings had been terrified of him and you had run and hid instead of confronting him. Hadn’t that been selfish? A thing he had not accused you of being. Your heart hurt.
He was right. You should talk. You hadto talk. Even if you locked yourselves in a room and screamed at each other until you broke or talked it out calmly, you had to find a way. But you weren’t ready to. For now, the sound of the waves breaking onto shore were soothing mixed with the sounds of families out for a stormy day on the beach. There was plenty of chaos to come, but for now, you sat side by side in relative peace.
Peace was a strong word.
You sat together troubled and sad but without judgment. You suffered separately but together.

So it's been 2 weeks has passed and the darling hasn't reacted to the punishments the Allies has been giving them, and if anything has been ignoring them ( basically any punishment the boys throw at them has no effect ). Another 2 weeks has passed, but to the boys surprise this seems to get a new reaction out of the darling. With every passing day the boys goes out an kills innocent people( y'know to pile more work on the darling ); and the more people they kill the more panicky, agitated, worried, and scared the darling becomes. The darling keeps pleading them to stop and let them do their job, warning them if they don't stop they'll regret it. The boys doesn't listen, if anything they'll relish in the feeling. One of world most powerful creature is finally submitting to them. How delicious, yet pathetic. It's been 4 days since then, and darling still pleads and begs them to stop and let them go. Around this time the boys are just getting home and is about to go check on their darling. But then they stop when they heard some muffled voices in the darling's room. Did the darling somehow contact someone to help her escape!!! And to think they was about to let her off of punishment! Well I guess that won't be happening any time soon. When to boys got to the room; the darling was on their knees and it looked like they were praying, and on in the center of the room was a very bright light and. The boys couldn't believe it, it was.... God. The darling was constantly apologizing about how they could let all of this happen and how the regretting meeting the boys in the first place. God has forgiven the darling and said it wasn't their fault. God has broken their remaining bounds the darling had around their hands and feet. The darling wasted no time running out of the room and unleashing their beautiful black and white wings. But before they full ran out of the room, the darling gives them a pity yet angry glance. " I tried to warn you. I just hope when Grimmy ( it's the nickname for the grim reaper. The darling works very close with them and is extremely close with them ) get here, they'll go easy on you. " Then the darling flies away. Now that's left in room was the boys and God. God tells them what they did was unacceptable and that it doesn't matter that they love the darling to much, and that they darling plays a huge role between life, death, and the afterlife; and that they could of messed up something. And all the lives they took and the sins they've committed, He'll have to punish them. After when God said that, the boys help a uncomfortable chill ran down their spine. Then the room has gotten darker all of a sudden. Out of the corner of the boys eye they saw a skeleton hand reach into the corner of the door. Then the light flickered off for a second. The hand wasn't there anymore. But then the boys felt a presence behind them. Turning around they saw a 9 foot ( almost 10 foot ) tall skeleton looming over them, they were wearing a pitch black cloak in. It was the.Grim.Reaper. After that nothing can prepare them for what they boys went through, it was worse than literal hell. Let's just say the boys regret killing all those people and they did to the darling. ( This part 2 the Angle of Death ask ) Also this is what the darling looks like.
Tumblr media
This is my OC. So minus the hair, eyes, face, body. I'll just leave it to the other readers imagination
I was unsure if this was an ask, like a part two for me to write, or simply just you explaining what happens next and what the reader is supposed to look like. So I'll do their reactions to getting punished and what their punishments are. Also, I summed up what you wrote in a more story-like format instead, I hope you don't mind! If you do let me know either through messages or through another ask and I'll delete what I wrote and simply leave your ask posted! Everything is below the cut due to length~
2 entire weeks have passed since the initial punishment. 2 weeks of no souls being taken care of. But that's okay, it doesn't affect you yet. You can handle this, you won't give them what they want: a reaction. They come down every day, bloodied with an innocent person's blood, but you won't say anything, won't react. This angers them. Another agonizing 2 weeks pass. They were getting tired of you not doing anything other than taking the food and water they gave to you. Today is different though. You're fidgety, feisty, and overall look terrified. They assume the punishment is working. They can't help but feel pride at watching you beg and cry for them to stop killing people, to let you at the very least reap their souls and come back. It's exhilarating, delectable. The power they feel bringing you, an Angel of Death, to such a state is a rush they could get addicted to. Your pathetic attempts to threaten them saying "something bad will happen if you don't stop this," were enjoyable to some degree as well. How sad their little caged Angel had become. 4 days later they come home, your voice seems to echo from where they left them. What happened? Who were you talking to? How did you contact someone? Regrettable that this happened, you were acting so good before this and he was honestly considering letting you out early for good behavior. He barges into the room where his darling is. You were praying to a bright light, a bright light that was near the center of the room. It appeared to be some entity. No, it wasn't just some entity, it was God himself. His darling was apologizing to him, saying you didn't mean to let this happen, sorry for not being strong enough to stop him, and the biggest stab to his heart, you were apologizing for even getting to know them in the first place. He watched as the chains released their holds on your ankles and wrists and you wasted no time in stretching out your gorgeous wings and walking towards an exit to the outside. You only turned to look at them for a second, deep sorrow and intense anger in your eyes. "I tried to warn you (___). I just hope Grimmy is able to show you some mercy when he gets here." You then flew away after that, leaving him alone with God. He looks disappointed, explaining that love won't be a good enough excuse to save him from his very own punishment. He had disrupted the work of Heaven and Hell, killed innocents simply out of spite, and he must atone for those crimes. God leaves in a flash of bright white, leaving him in a now dark room, a chill traveling up his spine as he soon feels a presence in the room. He catches the boney hand of something out of the corner of his eye. As he turns to see it clearly, he sees a giant skeleton draped in a black robe reach out a boney hand to take him. He has never been through a worse hell than this.
2p America (Allen)
Allen is regretful while he is taken to his punishment. He knows he deserves it, he went a little crazy from the power he had over you. And now that your gone, never to return to him, he feels like this is a just end to his empty life. His punishment is among the worst. The Grim Reaper makes Allen live out what he did to those innocent souls as well as suffer the same punishments he had ever given to you. He will eventually go mad, and if you were to spare him and see him, it would simply make him go deeper into insanity and depression.
2p Canada (Matt)
Out of all of them, he feels like he is the least deserving of this. He hadn't made you suffer, or kept you locked away. He may not have let you go far without him, but he didn't completely stop you from doing your job. I can see Matt being regretful, but not for long. Only for as long as he feels he really deserved. His punishment is by far the least painful. The Grim Reaper makes him suffer in a more creative way, he was to watch what could've been. As someone who was usually always gentle with you, it pains him to watch what his life could've been if he had just stayed patient and lenient.
2p England (Oliver)
Oliver is a tough one to crack in this case. He's already insane for the most part so nothing really scares him while he is being taken to his punishment. Oliver also really can't see what he's done wrong. He isn't regretful for what he did, at least not to those people. His punishment is hard to decide. In the end, Oliver is tortured by leaving him alone. He will wait for eternity alone, no one to speak to, nothing to do, he will rot away forever until even his facade of sanity is no longer there to keep him company.
2p France (Francois)
Francois has no complaints. He figures this is just another bad thing to add to his miserable existence. He's partially regretful for what he did to you. He knows he shouldn't have snapped at the end of the day and that getting a power trip wasn't like him and he should've caved sooner. However, in the end, he's still selfish and he figures you should've been careful, he did warn you about his dislikes after all. Francois's punishment is to take away his peace. He will be driven insane by noise. He's the only one to be let back out into the human world again. Francois is now constantly plagued by noise, and any vice or sin he commits (drinking, smoking, killing) the noise will only get louder.
2p Russia (Viktor)
Viktor is not at all regretful. He doesn't care at all. Viktor is one that would actively try to fight against The Grim Reaper. Of course, he fails at this. Viktor's punishment is similar to what he did to you. He is left alone with other punished souls in a type of confinement. Viktor will be subjected to years of push and pull tactics. He will come to fully rely on The Grim Reaper or whoever is watching over the souls, flushing his pride and intelligent mind down the drain.
2p China (Zao)
Zao is deeply regretful to some degree. He feels he disrespected you, your job, and your boss. This is something he never wanted to do as he honors respect deeply. On the other hand, he isn't regretful for punishing you, he still believes wholeheartedly that you deserved it, just maybe not to the degree he took it. Zao's punishment is similar to Viktor's. Zao has a deep sense of honor, of pride, and he is punished by spending eternity being taunted, teased, beaten, and spit on. This is another one where he would go absolutely insane and become a whole other person. If you ever took the time to see him you would not recognize the man in front of you, and he wouldn't recognize you either.

❝Being a family means you are a part of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life.❞
MEET…
Lainey Zhao-Winter
Age: 26
Birthday: 27 May 1995
Gender/Pronouns: non-binary girl; she/they
Hometown: Marlborough, Massachusetts
Length of time in Salem: 15 years - minus travel time
Occupation: Psychology student + casual at Salem Cinema
Faceclaim: Jessie Mei Li
HER STORY
tw: cancer, car crash, parental death
Lainey’s mother died when she was only two years only, and really, she has no memories of her. Except from photos, of which there are many. Her mother passed away from cancer, so the small family did lots of things together before her death, and Lainey grew up knowing that her father cherished that time they had together. They didn’t have a lot of money, still somewhat in debt from her mother’s illness, but Lainey didn’t really want for anything, her father giving her everything that he could, and she was happy.
Unfortunately, when Lainey was ten, she and her father were in a car accident, and he was killed. Sitting in the back seat was the other thing that let Lainey walk away with only a broken arm. Her mother’s parents had passed away, and her father’s parents were overseas, and Lainey had never met them. With no immediate family, Lainey was placed in the foster care system, moving into a group home. Being on the cusp of teenage-hood, Lainey wasn’t sure that anyone would want her.
But that wasn’t the case - after only a few months living in the group home, Lainey was fostered by the Winter family. But it was clear from the first week in their house, that if she wanted to stay, then she’d be welcomed. The family already had other adopted children, and Lainey was taken aback by the amount of love that was freely given in their home. Within a year, the foster was changed to an adoption, Lainey adding ‘Winter’ to her name. Her parents insisted that wasn’t necessary, but she was truly a Winter child now. Of course, she would always miss her father, and her mother, but she considered herself so lucky to have ended up where she did, embraced by another family who just wanted to give her every opportunity.
And every opportunity was given - the Winter’s didn’t struggle to give the children in their care everything they could want, and it was then that Lainey began taking horse riding lessons. She took to it like to duck to water, and it wasn’t long before she was competing on weekends, bring home ribbons to hang around her room.
At first, Lainey didn’t really excel in school, found it hard to concentrate, and preferred to spend her time outside, playing with her siblings and getting up to mischief with the other neighborhood kids. But partway high school, she began to settle down. While her parents assured her that they’d support whatever she wanted to do, they told her that getting good grades for her graduation would open up more doors for her in the future. She agreed, and knuckled down enough to pass with pretty good results.
However, Lainey decided she didn’t want to go to university right away, and a graduation gift from her parents was some money to put towards any trip that she wanted to take. She’d worked a few odd jobs through the years, and had some savings, and while the money wasn’t enough for five star hotels, it was enough to traveling to pretty much wherever she wanted. Lainey went to China first, wanting to see the country that her father had called home for the younger years of his life, spending several months exploring and backpacking around, seeing both the cities and the more rural parts of the country, its natural beauty. Japan was next, though it was slightly harder to do on a budget, and Lainey didn’t stay there quite a long, before going home for a little while to see her family. But she wasn’t quite ready to settle down yet, and a few months later, she packed her bag and went to explore Europe. Backpacking there was far easier, and Lainey easily made friends at the hostels that she stayed at, happily travelling with different people here and there. She spent nearly nine months there, hoping from country to country, though she called her family nearly every week, telling them of her adventures.
Finally, she came home again, overjoyed to see her family. It was then that Lainey applied to university, deciding to study psychology. People had always been interesting to her, and it was pretty flexible what she could do with that degree. She was accepted to start the next semester, and began her college life. She lived at home for a while, before moving into a small apartment slightly closer to campus.
She took up at a local barn, starting riding again, and it wasn’t long before she found herself back on the show-jumping circuit. While it wasn’t something she was going to pursue as a career, it was something she enjoyed, and uses as an outlet when she isn’t studying.
Lainey currently lives with her sister Phoebe, which is pretty great. Sometimes Phoebe has that ‘baby of the family’ attitude, but it’s nothing that Lainey can’t handle.
PERSONALITY
+   Spontaneous, Appreciative, Optimistic
-    Impulsive, Biosterous, Childish
Lainey is played KAYLEN

Fleshing out my superhero 'verse with some additional superheroes. Together with Starsong, they form the Hand of Justice, the 'verse's Justice League/Avengers expy. Write-ups under the cut, though it's all pretty rough and prone to alterations.
Lightstorm: A sentient spacecloud/xenoanthropologist, stranded on Earth in a humanoid shell when she chose to save people during a natural disaster and basically missed her ride home. She expects the next pick-up window to be in about 100 years, and has decided to protect and study Earth in the meantime. Powers of flight, energy beams, superior strength/speed/senses, and holographic disguise using alien technology. Her outer shell is nigh indestructible, protecting the spacecloud inside, but if cracked she's rendered unable to use it until it's repaired. Curious, formal, tries to follow human laws and moral principles at all times as a courteous guest. J'onn J'onzz crossed with Wonder Woman.
Major Justice: Military supersoldier experiment gone right, though the casualty rate was too high to justify making more of him. A career soldier and true believer in The American Way, which to him involves protecting the interests of the government and corporations, while also offering humanitarian aide abroad. Super strength/speed/senses, highly enhanced healing, and access to an arsenal of "less-lethal" guns and munitions. Strict, rigid moral absolutist with little to no sense of humor, he genuinely believes himself to be doing the right thing. Captain America crossed with homegrown Captain American villains like Super-Patriot and Americop.
Wildfire: Small-town highschool football star turned private experimental test subject for cash. Some dubiously ethical science gave him fire powers and also burned down the lab. 100% okay with using his superpowers for personal gain, definitely does product endorsements on his instagram and the like. An agreement with the US government lets him receive money legally as Wildfire and still keep his identity secret from the general public. General fire-related superpowers, including rocket flight. Mostly a smarmy asshole playboy, but he does secretly send money back home to help family and highschool friends out of poverty. Booster Gold crossed with one of the smarmier Flashes crossed with the worst Green Lantern.
The Silver Sword: A jet setting bored entrepreneur until his grandfather's death brought him to his ancestral home in China, where he became the new master of a magical dāo sword and the responsibilities it came with. Uses a combination of magically-imbued martial arts skills and custom-built tech to fulfill his destiny as a protector. Generally stern but with a secret, dry sense of humor. Keeps up his rich-boy persona as a secret identity and source of income. Batman crossed with The Iron Fist, minus the awkward white savior connotations.

I wrote 120 delivery notes in 15 years in the coldest town in China
Tumblr media
On the land of China, there are HE Tuber countless Li Tianyus.
I sell zippers in Yiwu and earn 0.001 yuan per piece
In the Internet era, "cactus" absorbs more nutrients, grows rapidly, bursts out with stronger vitality, and writes one oasis legend after another in the new era.
Yiwu, China, is a place where new legends are constantly being staged. There, "Cactus" turned straws, buttons, zippers, toothpicks and other inconspicuous little things into a huge business.
The "second brother" is a "second-generation factory" from Yiwu, and his family runs a zipper business. Once upon a time, his family's zippers were sold abroad and business was booming. Later, due to the impact of the general environment, foreign trade business orders were unstable, coupled with long billing periods and large arrears, the annual sales of zippers declined.
When the "second brother" was almost 30 years old, he took over the zipper factory that his father had founded for nearly 20 years. At that time, he was faced with a "mess" - zipper sales had shrunk significantly, and there were only seven or eight factory employees left.
The factory was on the verge of bankruptcy, but the "second brother" was very resilient and did not choose to close down and change careers. Instead, he "kept this hard work", transformed into domestic trade, and started an e-commerce business.
How to "come back to life"? He thought about innovation. Because he observed that masks were easy to fall off, he designed anti-lost mask ropes made of zippers. Later, he also designed anti-knot ID ropes, anti-knot headphone ropes and other products. Faced with the need for customized zippers for nursing wear merchants, he came up with an invisible zipper solution, winning the trust of customers and an order of 100,000 pieces.
In recent years, "Second Brother" has invested more than 1 million yuan in innovation and obtained more than 30 patents.
But with such a high cost of investment, how much profit can a zipper make? "Second Brother" said that in fact, the cheapest zipper only costs 7 cents, which can make 0.001 yuan.
However, it was such a meager profit that saved this company that was on the verge of bankruptcy. The factory sold 20 million meters of zippers a year, and sales doubled year after year, with annual sales exceeding 10 million yuan...
After the company came back to life, "Second Brother" expanded its production capacity, recruited more than 100 new workers, and the business was booming.
Using small things to make big things happen is the consistent resilience of Yiwu businessmen.
In his opinion, small and micro enterprises will never underestimate a penny.
Now, the "second brother" who is holding on to the family business and helping everyone survive has not only researched the internationally renowned zipper brand YKK, but also has a bigger dream. He wants to turn the small zipper into a brand and become a symbol of quality.
In Yiwu, such cactus-style survival abounds. The profit of a straw is only 0.0008 yuan, a zipper is 0.001 yuan, and 100 toothpicks only make 1 cent... Yiwu bosses have turned these insignificant little things into a big business worth tens or hundreds of millions of yuan.
Yiwu is a city that grows on the market. Here, there are countless examples of getting rich. It is recognized by the United Nations as the World Small Commodity Center, and Yiwu ranks first on the list of China's top 50 richest counties.
This is the energy exerted by cacti.
With fertile soil and sunshine, they will grow brilliantly. Looking up at the stars, countless cacti will eventually become a vast oasis and create miracles.
