Sorry if you've gone over this before but I was curious as to what you'd think it would take for Leo to finally break in front of his brothers?

We’ve actually seen Leo break his persona multiple times throughout the series! And pretty much each and every time has a common theme present: his family being in danger.

#non au ask #probably the biggest break he has is immediately after Raph protects him from the Krang and forces him to leave Raph behind #not once in the series has Leo shown a greater horror than the moment he’s out of the pod knowing Raph was left behind #and he makes that break KNOWN #he shovels it down again soon enough but yeah #also noteworthy is his reaction to losing Gram Gram #and(less of a sad break but a still a break of his lackadaisical persona) when he IMMEDIATELY gets serious when Raph’s missing in the sewer #actually I think of Leo being serious about Raph missing in the sewers a lot #luckily (or not lol) for his mask these breaks happen mostly when everyone else is ALSO freaking out #so more focus is put on to the entire situation than simply Leo’s reaction to it #but yeah Leo loves his family SO MUCH so of course they’re consistently his breaking point #tbh tho all of them share that breaking point #cannot BELIEVE I didn’t mention it but his ‘I’m nothing without them’ speech ALSO HAPPENS WHEN HE THINKS HIS BROS ARE IN DANGER #it’s all fun and games until plot armor loses its durability!

its so weird to me how people will see us talking about reblogs and comments and how that supports people and they ignore it??? and i've even heard people telling content creators to "get over it" and its like...bro.

you are getting content for free. someone put so much love and care into something that you read and didn't even bother supporting. likes are equivalent to "hey i saw this, good job." while reblogs are "hey, i really liked this and i want other people to see it too!!"

you wonder why fanfic authors complain about engagement? it literally fuels us. i've also heard people say that authors wanting more feedback from readers is a "red flag" and i just know those people have never written a fic in their life.

we're not holding you hostage or anything man, we just want you to talk to us. tell us what you think. have fun with fics. show them to your friends and talk to the author about them and even if they don't respond, know that they saw your feedback and are holding it close to their heart.

its a give and take. all creators want is interaction. and i hate to say it but its literally the bare minimum. i actually stopped writing for a fandom entirely because nobody would comment on any of the oneshots i posted. they just read it and left. and then when i left the fandom and stopped writing for them entirely, people were saying they'd miss me. they acted disappointed that i was leaving. like, you didn't act like you'd miss me at all when i was still making content. so why should i stay?

so i've been having a hard time with my ✨depression✨ the last few days and i want to share something that may help someone? it helps me? and that's: go to bed earlier. don't stay up past 10 - 9:30 if you can help it. im so serious. it's the literal depression witching hour past 10 if you stay up too late and!! there's a scientific reason for it. (something about cortisol levels idk my therapist explained it to me once but point remains: you get sadder at night) drink some chamomile tea if that's your jam, take a bath, take some melatonin drops, ANYTHING you can do to try and sleep earlier. if you can't sleep that early (like me), simply lie in bed with a cozy blanket and read a book. or watch a familiar, uncomplicated sitcom. turn off the phone (read: social media). don't engage in anything that's upsetting. and i promise you the world will feel better.

#i say this at nearly 11 pm my time but that's because i took a bath and drank chamomile tea when i started to spiral an hour ago #exactly at 10 pm on the dot!! #and now i'm about to lay in bed with some calming music #i'm serious it helps. not only do you end up getting a little more rest #but nothing can trigger you deeper into the emotional pit of despair that you're already in lol #sam rambles

As someone somewhat new to the Fandom who really wants to write Bretta in an upcoming (non-shipping with her) fic... What would you say are the biggest pitfalls in characterization for her?

anon i've tried to answer this so many times without turning it into an essay 💔 (i've decided instead that i'll make a separate headcanons post with all my thoughts because I have quite a few for a lot of characters so it'll be fun to talk about)

but my biggest issue that i end up seeing a lot is when people have her running straight back to ghost and then have the narrative act like its a good thing. that never made sense to me, but also i just don't see her doing that. with the way she perceives things i think she wants to feel important and have incredibly high standards (like shit have you seen her house. she is a Lady.) so even if she realizes zote was wrong about them, she's kind of just as stubborn as he is about what she wants and i think that if she decides to do something or leave something behind she never goes back for it, like her town and her crushes. i actually think its pretty cool. let her be unforgiving let her be a little ruthless. You can have her and ghost interact in other ways but it should be clear that her obsession with them wasn't supposed to be positive it was supposed to be VERY absurd but i feel like sometimes ppl forget that

also when people simplify her and she's just there to glorify other characters... you gonna include this complicated weirdo in your story just so that she gets wasted on other people girl 😢 i always feel so baited lol. same goes for zote bigtime except he's only there so that every single character can hate him no matter how much it mischaracterizes them in the process i hate it here
