pls can we get a crumb of service top ghost knight doing a quickie in the castle stairwells i beg
I might've misunderstood what part of the service top we were looking for here...
“Thought I might find you here,” Ghost says, you lift your head from your folded arms to look at him. Even a few steps down you have to tilt your head to meet his eye. Your fault for sitting you suppose. You scoot to press against the wall, give him room to sit on the step next to you. Well, not exactly next to you, a step down, enough to give you privacy as you sigh. “Want to talk about what just happened?”
“Not particularly,” You huff, settle your chin in your hands, content just to nudge Ghost with your knee. You like seeing him all dressed up, you know he still has his chainmail under his jacket, you might be the only one that knows that. He’s a handsome figure even with it. It’s too bad he wears a mask for parties, but you suppose that adds to his charm.
You wouldn’t want anyone else to see the crooked nose you’d accidentally broken, or the lips that smile just for you. You reach to straighten his collar, and he catches your hand. Rough calloused fingers lace between your much softer ones. You’re unused to feeling his hands, they speak to years of dedication, hard work. Something you could never dream of. You’re almost jealous that he seems to tell the full tale of his life on just his skin. You sometimes wonder if you’ll even be lucky enough to appear as a footnote in your family tree. You’re sure they’ll be singing Ghost’s songs for generations.
“All those men just see me as a means to an end,” You grumble. Ghost hums, you wiggle your fingers in his grasp, tapping his knuckles. You try not to hope for his thoughts of you. It doesn’t work, but you still try.
“Is that why you stomped on the Marques’ foot and ran off?” He asks, amused, never judgemental.
“No,” You frown, stop your tapping, “I stomped on his foot because he grabbed my ass.” Probably trying to get a feel for what he was getting into if he became king. Just the thought of having to go to bed with that man makes you shudder. Ghost is silent for a long moment. It’s an insult against you, you both know it, but there’s little you can do at such a public function. Not like you can have your knight chop off his hand in the middle of the ballroom.
Although you’re sure he wants to. You’ve never seen Ghost stand for any disrespect against you. It’s comforting to know that you always have him in your corner. Certainly makes you less upset that he knows all your hiding places. You think just having him here is enough sometimes, just being near your pillar of safety. Your knight in shining armor.
Ghost twists to stand and face you, pulling you to your feet with your joined hands. “Come on, back to the ball,” He tells you, you pout and he sighs, “None of that, be a good girl for me, princess. Don’t wanna have’ta carry you.” Although the smile in Ghost’s voice begs to differ. You offer him a smile.
“Just to the bottom of the stairs?” You try, you know how easily Ghost caves to you. He releases your hand and you wrap your arms around his neck, feel him wrap an arm around your legs, another around your back. You’re easily lifted into his hold, your legs dangling nicely under his arm as you bury your face against his shoulder.
He’s warm, sturdy. You breathe him in and smell leather, steel, the last tinge of campfire smoke, Simon. You think you feel his head dip, the ever so gentle nudge of his nose against your hair. You press into him, tighten your grip on his shoulders as his fingers tighten on your dress. You haven’t moved, haven’t started your descent down the stairs. Why should you? You have everything you could ever need right here.
I love you, you think, I never want anyone else to touch me. You pull back enough to look at him, to meet Ghost’s drawn expression. He’s so close, just waiting for you. If you never see another soul you’ll at least have seen him, at least have loved him. You wonder what it would be like to kiss him. You slide your hand from his shoulder to cup his cheek, he closes his eyes like you’ve struck him.
“Don’t-” He rasps, you freeze, “don’t make this harder than it has to be my lady.”
“Of course,” You drop your hand, turn your face away from him. Of course. You swallow down your heart, and feel him start down the stairs.

Having a libra rising doesn't always mean they have good relationship with people around them this people attract a lot of freinds who view them as competition or envy them anyway it's either because they effortlessly get the attention
Either leo moons have narcicistic self centered mother or they have this sister like relationship with their mother i view this people who have this pure older sister like bond with their mom, because as the sun in your moon you just have this very bright and warm but also at times can be pretty damaging relationship with ur mom.
Rising and moon opposition in chart i noticed dissapont many people by the way their first impression persona doesn't match who they are, it actually can be quite opposite
Aquarius moons are the actually more outgoing than aquarius sun, they are more approachable either, and they tend to be really good in conversations
Scorpio Stelluims sorry but yall scare the crap out of me they give me creep vibes, but they are really deep tho and they actually suprise me how intelligent they are or how they deliver themselves
Pisces venus may grew up with absent mother/father or their mother/father wasn't just there for them, this people are prone to manipulation they are top tier hopeless romantic and would love you purely of who you are but it depends on the chart ofc
Virgo moons can't shut the fuck up inside their head, they may listen to you in conversations but they would have another damn conversations in their mind like that's how obsessive they can be
Aquarius venus are damn misunderstood this are the types that would actually go for the weirdest type of people to date just to have an experience, this people are filled with curiosity on what it's like to date you, anyway they're good at convincing
Taurus suns has this air of ethereal in them, like they have this glow that seperates them from the rest
Capricorn suns are drop dead gorgeous like their beautiful as helk you can spot it from their eyes or bone structures, like they have this exotic beauty that seperates them from the rest
Sagittarius men can be such loverboy to the girl they actually love, but if hurt deep can be the shittiest from all the shittiest
Sagittarius woman are damn material girl, never met a Sagittarius woman who aren't sweet n sassy and who doesn't slay 24/7
Aries sun woman are actually a big softiee they especially have the biggest soft spot for their freinds or the one they love
Virgo moons are lowkey more controlling than virgo suns while virgo risings are more blunt about it
Mercury rising🤝 people always leaning for your opinion
Venus rising🤝 pips falling love at first sight
Pluto rising🤝 silent stalkers
Sun rising🤝 doesn't have to beg for attention

A Letter from the King of Nargothrond to the Lord of Doriath
To Elu Thingol, Lord of Doriath:
Greetings from the King of Nargothrond! I hope that all remains well in Doriath, and that the recent skirmishes along your eastern border have not claimed many lives.
I write to you now on behalf of one whom I love. His name is Beren, son of that Barahir by whose valor my life was preserved not ten years past, in the Battle of Sudden Flame. I believe you have recently met him, the child of one who was dear to me and is now lost beyond recall.
He came to me recently in some distress. He says that he has given his heart to Lúthien your daughter, and she to him, and that they wish to be wed. He tells me also that you have forbidden it, unless he brings to you a Silmaril in his hand.
Allow me first to apologize for any breach of etiquette or other impoliteness which he may have displayed in your court. Recall that the lives of Men are short, leaving them often without much time to learn the finer points of our traditions; recall also that this Man has been long away from any kingdom, having fought valiantly against our common Enemy. Beren’s heart is good, and his thoughts are all of kindness and compassion; if he has offended you in such a way, it was assuredly unintentional, and I am prepared to take full responsibility.
Second, may I ask: is it true that you have set him this terrible bride-price? I trust Beren’s word implicitly, but he was doubtless in great distress during his initial audience with you, and it is possible he may have misunderstood your meaning. If so, please write to me at once, and I will clear his mind of any doubt.
If he understood you aright, I beg you to reconsider. I know it must have been shocking for a mortal to appear in your court, and I can well understand your anger at what you must have seen as great impertinence. But I also know you to be lordly and wise, and if you are quick to anger you are also generous with forgiveness. Please, rescind this decree. Beren’s Oath to you hangs heavy about his shoulders. I would not have him go alone to terrible Thangorodrim. If your answer is no, then let it be no; do not give him false hope.
But finally, my family in blood and law both, I ask this of you: is there aught I can do to change your mind? Beren has neither father nor mother living, but he is my own heart’s-son, and I am willing to stand for him in whatever manner you may require. If it is craft-work that you desire, I will give as a bride-price near anything you ask - indeed, if you wish it, I will give the Nauglamír itself to you, passed on in joy and friendship as it was given to me. I know how dear Lúthien is to your heart, and that you would not make such a decision lightly.
Beren is mortal, and his passing will doubtless bring her great grief, and all his wisdom and the flame of his spirit cannot compare to your bright daughter’s. Yet he is kind and brave, gentle and good - and if Lúthien has given her heart to him in truth, then there is grief awaiting her no matter what path she takes. Please allow her this brief joy, which will yet be bright for all its shortness.
I hope you will forgive my forwardness in writing about a matter which must be tender still, and about a subject so very dear to you; but I hope you will receive this letter in the spirit of friendship and love in which it is intended.
With all goodwill,
Finrod, King of Nargothrond, of the House of Olu

A Letter from the King of Nargothrond to Galadriel, a Lady in Melian’s Court
Sister -
This letter will be brief, for I have already slaved away half the night over a letter to our grandfather’s brother, and I have many meetings with counsellors ere I can rest. But my heart is heavy and I am full of foreboding; and even when you are not here I find it a comfort to unburden my mind to you on the page. Most excellent Galadriel!
Young Beren arrived to Nargothrond today - I recall telling you his name, when he was born, but do not know if you have met him. He is the son of Barahir (whose name you certainly recall!) and he is in great distress. It seems that he has fallen in love with Lúthien, and she with him, and Elwë has set a brideprice of a Silmaril. I have written to him, asking him to reconsider his words (which must have been rash - surely he was not serious!).
Ah, another pin has dropped from the clock, and I must away. Time is rushing through my hands. Artanis, there is a shadow on my heart. Celegorm and Curufin will be deeply angered when they hear the news, and already they have more influence among the court than I would like. I hate to think so ill of them (they have been staunch allies for so long - and Celebrimbor is of an age with Finduilas, and makes her smile!), but there is already so much fear in Nargothrond: the Necromancer sent it rushing ahead of him when Tol Sirion fell. I do not wish anyone to think that Doriath is our enemy. We are not beset! We have friends all around. I must keep reminding myself.
Please write soon. News from Doriath would be a comfort!
Ingoldo

A Letter from the Lord of Doriath to the King of Nargothrond
Finrod:
You ask for what you do not - cannot - understand. My daughter is more dear to me than any necklace, no matter how fine; to offer gems or gold is a grave insult. Even a Silmaril could not outshine her presence.
I was entirely serious in my proclamation to Beren. If my daughter wishes to marry a mortal, he must be great among Men, mighty enough to face Morgoth in the manner of the Queen Melian. I will not allow my daughter to be without protection.
If Beren is not strong enough for this task, let him remain in Nargothrond, an it please you! There you may lavish upon him all the fine works of your hands, if you prefer to waste them on a mortal - but in truth even the thought of him dwelling in the caves of my gift disgusts me. He has cut my daughter to the heart, and she grieves for what she cannot - must not! - have.
Consider the matter closed, and do not test my patience so again. This is a time of deep trial for our family.
Sincerely,
Elu Thingol

A Letter from the King of Nargothrond to Galadriel, a Lady in Melian’s Court
Dear Galadriel,
You will doubtless laugh when you read this, but I confess I found myself a little worried when I received a letter from Elwë and no accompanying missive from you. I know you are terribly busy with Melian and her attendants, and that you travel often - doubtless you have not even seen my letter, and are doing unspeakable things with Celeborn somewhere in the wilds of Doriath. (Do NOT tell me about them!)
Well, at least now I have a spare moment to myself, and can sit down to tell you all that has happened. My other letter was quite vague, I know (most unlike me, you will say, I am sure! Where is Ingoldo, who seldom uses one word when ten or twelve would do! There, I have teased myself for you, and now you need not do it), and I shall remedy this fault now.
I assume that you were not in the court of Doriath the day Beren came (I am sure I would have heard from you if you had been!), so I will set down the events as I understand them. Perhaps this will settle my whirling mind. I cannot truly take in what has happened.
Barahir is slain, and his wife Emeldir gone; but his son Beren survived, and after making quite a name for himself as the sole defender of Dorthonion, after a time he made his way to Doriath. He will not tell me how (and to be honest I fear to guess!), but there in the woods he met our cousin, and his heart flew forth to meet hers, and hers to his.
They were happy for awhile; then Thingol discovered them and grew quite angry. He demanded what I mentioned in the last letter (a Silmaril for a brideprice: just in case the missive has been lost!) and cast Beren out of Doriath. Beren, not knowing where else to turn, came to Nargothrond - and I am so glad he did, for my heart bleeds to see a son of the People of Bëor so deeply hurt. He has been alone for so long, he says, and wished for death ere Lúthien came. I wish
I am getting off the track. It gladdens my heart to see Beren unharmed - I cannot tell you how it gladdens me! - but his arrival has brought with it tumult - and I am already stretched in so many directions! Beren is quite determined to assault Thangorodrim - alone, if he must - and I convinced him to wait and allow me to treat with Elwë, but I awake every morning afraid that he has gone in the night.
To tell the truth, if anyone could succeed, it will be Beren Barahir’s son. You have heard of his prowess against Morgoth; all have. And sometimes there is a look on his eyes - such a look! As if the hand of Vairë herself was on his shoulder, and the face of Námo turned away from him! There are fell deeds coming, and I can only hope they will be ours and not our Enemy’s.
But that is not the only trouble. Celegorm and Curufin have heard of Beren’s quest. I know not how, for I have spoken of it only with Beren himself, and that seldom - but nonetheless they know of it. Curufin claims that he was on his way to speak with me when he heard the Silmaril mentioned, and perforce must listen, and decided not to interrupt us. I do not wish to disbelieve him; but Sister, the air in Nargothrond has grown dark. (I wish you were here! You are so steadfast and so practical that the shadows in my mind flee before you. I do not know yet if this shadow is in my mind only.)
It has occurred to me - though reluctantly - that the Eldar who serve Curufin and Celegorm could overset Nargothrond quite easily. The greater part of our force is gone. We lost so many to the Sudden Flame I should not have sought our brothers so rashly, perhaps and more to Tol Sirion (now Tol-in-Gaurhoth! A terrible name!). Gladly I welcomed our cousins when they came with many in their vanguard; but they stand so often apart now, and more and more of my people come to me with complaints. The Fëanorian soldiers are rude, I am told; they often fail to show up for their assigned rotations; they mock us for taking shelter so far south (this last, I find a little ironic, at least).
But each time, I tell them I will speak to the Fëanorian lords, and each time I do, and Celegorm sighs and shakes his head and Curufin looks angry and tells me he will do his best, and I cannot fault them for it. It is hard to lead, particularly in such times. The fates of Maglor and Caranthir are not yet known, and little Celebrimbor was badly injured in the flight from Himlad and has only just recovered. No wonder they are short-tempered. Perhaps I am too unkind. (Doubtless you would tell me I am too kind, and ought to have thrown them out to land where they may; but you did not see them when they arrived!)
And there, I have lost the thread again. But I am too tired to cross much out and start over, so you will simply have to read an overabundance of words (and there, you do not need to mock me, I have done it twice already for you! Truly it is like having you here).
I was telling you that our cousins know of Beren’s quest. Curufin came to speak to me the other night. He was quite angry. He asked when I planned to tell him news that was of such import to his family; I replied that I was aware of how grievous the insult was, but that Thingol was greatly wroth, and that I am even now asking him to retract his words. Curufin merely snorted at that and walked away. (He has quite an inelegant snort for such a shapely nose, have you noticed? Of course you have.)
Well - that is all the news. Please write soon, and tell me all the news from Doriath! I hope you are well.
All my love,
Ingoldo

A Letter from the King of Nargothrond to the Lord of Doriath
To Elu Thingol, Lord of Doriath:
Greetings! I hope you will forgive the shakiness of my hand; many matters have required my attention the past days. I hope you will also, as you have done many times before, forgive my presumption in writing back.
I wish to apologize for any insult taken when I offered a brideprice on Beren’s behalf. As you know, I love Lúthien well, and have known her for many years: please believe me when I say that her friendship and happiness is worth far more to me, as well, than any gem could ever be. I merely meant to advocate for a very dear friend.
Ever you have been lordly and gracious in your dealings with Men: with the people of Bëor, with the House of Hador, most of all to the Haladin. I ask you to be so once again. Please, if only for the sake of solidarity against our common Enemy, retract the demand you have made of Beren. Invoking a Silmaril will only enrage allies that we - that I - cannot afford to lose, whatever your opinion of them otherwise.
I know that you want your daughter to be well-protected. Could Beren not come to dwell in Doriath? Or, if you wish it, both could come to dwell here in Nargothrond until Beren’s brief span of life is finished. They would dwell in peace and happiness, and I would protect your daughter with my life.
Yours ever in friendship,
Finrod, King of Nargothrond, of the House of Olu
Quellë 20, F.A. 465
A Letter from the Lord of Doriath to the King of Nargothrond
Finrod:
My daughter weeps now in her great house in a tree, where her love for a mortal has forced her to reside. She seeks always to escape this safe haven and chase after your Beren. She seeks to follow him into the arms of Death!
I cannot allow it. I have loved my daughter for longer than you have been alive. You know Lúthien’s bright spirit; until now I had not doubted your love for your cousin! Now I wonder that your loyalty towards those who murdered your mother’s kin looms larger in your mind than thoughts of my only daughter.
I say this with no little regret: I will not open any further missives from you until the mortal who has so grieved my daughter is gone from the world. Letters to your sister, of course, will be delivered. I will not deprive you of your kin as you seek to deprive me of mine.
Sincerely,
Elu Thingol
Quellë 24, F.A. 465
A Letter from the King of Nargothrond to Galadriel, a Lady in Melian’s Court
Dear Galadriel,
I am afraid.
There, I have said it! And you may (I hope!) laugh at me later for it. Since I last wrote, Curufin no longer smiles at me at all, and Celegorm often brushes by me without a word. They can see the hand of the Weaver upon Beren, and in return I can see their Oath coiling about them. And my own Oath drives me, and not my word of honor only, but the love I bear for Beren, and all his forefathers! You know of whom I speak.
Artanis, little sister, I write this in haste, for I will soon go before my people and ask their aid in assaulting Angband itself. If I do not, Beren will go on his own; I could not keep from him Thingol’s refusal and since then he has been afire to be gone. If you were here perhaps I could find Despite the multitude of names I have been given, I find I have very little wisdom at need. I know it is unwise, and foolish, and that I am almost certainly leaving you, my dearest little sister (I can practically hear you telling me, “I am your only sister!” so let me assure you that you are dearest as well as only - and little) with another loss, and if you never forgive me it will be quite merited. But I cannot let him go alone. I cannot. Please understand
I did try (for I know you will ask). I tried to tell him that he should give her up, learn to live without her. But I saw in his eyes the same look I once saw in Aikanáro’s, of bright fervent hope, and I could not bear to see it turn to despair. Already we will lose Aikanáro to the Halls. Beren will not have even that peace in the end.
Sister, you know already, I can see your mind churning. Yes, Curufin and Celegorm will not allow this to stand, they outnumber us by far, yes, I know, even if I keep my life I will lose my kingdom
No, I cannot pretend. You know what I saw, long ago, here in the place I love. I will not be returning. I hope it does not hurt too much
Galadriel - Artanis - Nerwen - little sister, I love you. Think not of me with bitterness.
I must go. I love you.
Ingoldo

A Letter from the Lady Galadriel of Doriath to the King of Nargothrond (unopened by him)
Ingoldo,
I am sorry I have not written in so long. Doubtless when I arrive home tomorrow there will be quite the stack of letters awaiting my attention! Celeborn and I have been traveling away from Menegroth, visiting the Hills of the Birds. We chanced upon a messenger just now and so I am seizing the chance to write a quick note to you, that you may not worry - for I am sure it will take me some time to respond to the many long missives you see fit to send to me in lieu of visiting.
I hope all is well in Nargothrond, and that our wretched cousins are not causing you any trouble, and that you have not worn out too many pens admonishing me to write back more quickly. This trip has been delightful in every respect (don’t make that face, brother) and has made me think perhaps we ought to chance a trip to your kingdom soon. The roads, I hear, are much better than they were now that things have settled a bit. And in truth I am restless, and I miss you.
There, now you cannot say I never show affection.
All my love,
Galadriel

Belonged With You - Gavi x Reader
A/n: Im wishing to have a good upload schedule one day.
Summary: After Gavi’s girlfriend cheats on him, you accidentally confess your feelings while comforting him.
Warnings: Hurt/comfort, fluff ending, cheating, night clubs, slight cringe at the end
Tumblr media
Pretending to be distracted by your phone, you kept glancing towards Gavi. He was on the phone with his girlfriend, the conversation clearly upsetting. Gavi joked about the subject to lift the mood, though instead of laughter you hear yelling over the phone. She was clearly annoyed and frustrated but also completely disregarding the boys feelings. As the conversation draws to an end, you take another glance at the boy, only for your eyes to meet. His were filled with a light watery layer, as he broke eye contact with you, he looked up, slightly sniffling to prevent the tears from falling. You felt your face drop more, you never understood why he was still with a girl like her.
“Are you alright?”
The boy’s eyes softened at the sound of your voice, almost as if he found comfort in your worries for him. A light smile replaces the once frowning face, you started feelings empathetic, missing the smile that had the power to light up a room. You hadnt seen it in a while since she brought him down, in-fact he had changed a lot. You just missed the old version of him.
“I’m fine.”
As you read his expression, you felt a little disappointed that he thought you couldn’t see how he truly felt. You wanted him to know how much he meant to you, the reason why you were comforting him though everything, standing by his side though heaven and hell. You wanted him to know, if anyone in this world would understand him, it would be you.
“If you say so…”
You didn’t want to pester him, you were fully aware how much he hated talking about her, especially since it typically ended in small arguments about why he’s still with her.
You were now sat in bed, listening to you favourite song on repeat, scrolling though Instagram. A new post refreshed the pages you were once viewing. You were met with a photo of Gavi’s girlfriend in a club, wearing a small dress dancing with other guys. No Gavi in sight. You hoped this wasn’t a drunken post, and wish’s that Gavi was somewhere behind the photo. But in reality you knew both of your wishes weren’t true. Your thoughts got quickly interrupted by your phones vibration.
Incoming call: Golden Boy
You hesitantly accepted the call, not sure if you could handle comforting Gavi this evening, about her again. You were met with a light silence as the phone tuned into the call.
“Hola”
You heard a light whisper though the phone, it sounded like he had been crying.
“Is everything alright, Pablo?”
You begged that you misunderstood his reasoning for calling, maybe he just wanted to talk to you. But you knew inside, he was only calling since she wasn’t there.
“Did you see her Instagram post?”
Your heart shattered for the boy, you felt the pain strain his voice with each word, clearly empathising on ‘her’. This wasn’t the first time she had been out to a night club with other men, or even confessed to cheating on him. He was truly blinded by what he thought was love. All the times before, you wished he had just noticed the looks you gave him. You wish he saw and felt the same as you did. Then he would’ve never had to feel the pain from his un-loyal girlfriend .
“Gavi, I’m coming over.”
You heard a light hum from the other side of the phone, as you picked up your keys. Once you arrived at the boys apartment, you noticed the darkness instantly consume you. The exterior displaying Gavi’s mental interior. As you walked closer to the sound of talking, you saw Gavi wrapped in a blanket you had given him a few years back, hypnotised by the TV. You walked up to the oblivious boy, and grabbed him into a hug. At first he stiffened, but as he recognised your scent and touch his body melted into yours.
“I’m so sorry Pablo.”
You whispered into his ear, his lips ajar as he tried to control his breathing. Within seconds, the boy’s emotions collapse onto your shoulders. Tears streaming down his face.
“Why can’t anyone just love me for me?”
The boy spoke in between his sobs. As your parted from the hug, his brown eyes adjusted to your face. Relaxing and feeling safe knowing you were there for him.
“Te quiero, Pablo. I always have.” <I love you>
You accidentally blurted out, knowing this wasn’t the time nor place. Gavi eyes widened slightly at the thought of you loving him, while also slightly biting his lower lip. He gently rested his hand upon your cheek as he pulled you close into a kiss. His lips were soft, as the kiss deepened, you tasted the light flavouring from your own lip bam. You pulled back realising what you had just done. You looked at the boys smile that you missed ever so much. Enjoying every crease that formed to the light squinting of his eyes. You had truly never loved anyone as much as you did now. You knew it was wrong, but after all, he had always belonged with you.

IPKKND ft. Jalebi
Warning: In this Jalebi edition I will write a slight canon divergence for me based on existing material 😊 it’s not a diss to the original! It’s just little/big changes (taking reality into consideration) - a what if based on what we HAVE. Hope you enjoy
#2 The Reveal
Original
Khushi, after watching Arnav suddenly be kind to her and watching a news bulletin that talks about a man marrying another so as to his astrological ill fate falls on the new wife instead of the one he intends to love and marry, assumes an atheist Arnav would precisely do the same - hence why he married her.
Tumblr media
To marry his true love Lavanya and have his birth chart misfortune befall Khushi instead. Thus Arnav is planning to kill her and Khushi decides to kill herself before he does it first. And this is all played for “silly” comedy.
Tumblr media
Arnav saves her from killing herself and tells her the truth. Khushi later pretends nothing happened and chirps around until Arnav confronts her again and she gets angry on him and he disbelieves her story.
Tumblr media
Jalebi edition:
Post Holi Arnav and Khushi are very raw and vulnerable. Khushi understands the tension between Shyam and Arnav and is very restless about it. Why would Arnav keep glaring at his beloved jijaji? What wrong could have happened? Oh no, did he know the truth? How could he have known?
Tumblr media
Shyam gets further desperate in getting his hands on the papers, and Khushi notices further the tension between the men. She decides to ask Arnav about it but is interrupted with Arnav fake romancing her as they had Anjali witnessing them. Khushi feels all their intimate moments were a play!
Angry, Khushi demands why much she pretend to be a happy wife? She accuses him of hurting her but he accuses her of hurting him more.
Shocked at that, Khushi fears the worst. One, he must’ve known about Shyam. Two, during Holi she must’ve blurted the truth to Shyam.
With Shyam getting more insulting, Khushi straight up heads to Shyam and demands he tells the truths to Arnav. Shyam tries to use to opportunity to get her to sign some papers by Arnav, but Khushi refuses. Angry, Shyam decides to play dirty.
He mocks Khushi that she must be knowing why Arnav married her. Khushi is stunned and Shyam, honestly, tells everything. That Arnav saw what happened on the terrace, misunderstood it, threatened and blackmailed Shyam, and the point of marriage was to use Khushi against Shyam.
Shyam is happy seeing confusion in Khushi’s face but Khushi calls him a liar and storms off, not believing a single word she said. She wonders if he indeed marry her for this and that she could take him to visit her family but in anger if he reveals the contract marriage they’d be hurt further.
Tumblr media
Exhausted, she asks Arnav why he married her, Arnav tells her and Khushi can’t believe it. She asks him not to lie but he emphasizes he isn’t!
Tumblr media
Khushi is shattered and chooses to kill herself but Arnav saves her, traumatized, and begs Khushi to explain the situation to him instead of…
Tumblr media
Khushi yells at him, the sheer audacity to ask for an explanation when he left no room for questions.
Khushi tells the truth and accuses him of coming to the conclusion he perhaps always wanted to reach.
About her, her character.

I Mistook the Hidden Identity of the Sub Male Lead - By 시록보다푸른 (5/10)
Tumblr media
This was a painful read. It's an otome isekai that would be better as a regular fantasy. Everything is vague, especially the magic, and everybody is our heroines best friend. The beginning, and the villains have promise, but that fizzles away.
Mayerie is a stalker. A teenage girl with delusions of grandeur. She wants to marry Duke Ellex, even though she's a daughter of a Viscount. That Viscount doesn't have alot of money. She falls into personal debt buying red gems that match his eyes.
Tumblr media
She gets engaged in a stupid attempt to make him jealous AND her fiance turns out to be abusive. She continues to stalk Ellex, even though he's a rich man with powerful magic, until he has to threaten to kill her to keep her away.
We're supposed to think she's a loser....but....authors have to stop doing this to me...Mayerie would have been a great protagonist. Just imagine it. A dumb teenage girl stalks her crush until he snaps, and then she realizes he's human. She tries to give up on him. She stops spending money to impress him. Maybe she grows as a person and becomes a woman worthy of marrying a Duke?????
Doesn't that sound cooler than isekai again???
Tumblr media
Anyway Mayerie is gone forever and we're stuck with a random Korean woman, who is completely fine with becoming Mayerie and living a more decent life. She's embarrassed by the things Mayerie did. She is still Mayerie. She has all of her memories, but now she knows she's in a book. She's a minor villain and she has to play nice to escape said role.
Tumblr media
Ellex legitimately wishes she was dead. This is potentially interesting! The dark and powerful Duke Mayerie blindly loved is actually planning her untimely d....nevermind. This lasts ten chapters. Then she touches his arm and he notices she has divine powers that can save him from his magical madness.
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Tumblr media
The love interest is the crazy and powerful Prince Grandiel. He uses his magic to change his appearance. He's secretly the head of an information guild, and he's a stone cold killer. He notices that Mayerie knows he's not an idiot prince with a stutter. Everybody underestimates him. His two disguises are perfect, and yet she saw through him. He decides to hire her as a maid, so he can use her to spy on his spoiled sister Stella.
Her touch magically makes his mind reading ability more powerful too.
That's...so boring. Mayerie had no such powers in the original plot.
Tumblr media
Ellex is supposed to save and marry the beautiful Saint Radita. Radita has incredible holy power, but her noble blood is muddy, so she got abused. Radita and Ellex join together in a marriage of convenience...oh wait no they don't. Ellex touches Mayerie first, so he becomes obsessed with her.
Tumblr media
Grandiel tells her to call him Diel. He puts a tracker on her and he begs her to never leave him daily. Mayerie begins serving Princess Stella, but poor Stella is just misunderstood. Mayerie eventually warms her thorny heart.
....boring...
Let me guess the actual villains are boring and generic random characters...
Tumblr media
Radita becomes a maid with Mayerie. There's...basically no mention of her Saint powers after a certain point. It's....so...annoying. There are two men in need of a woman with divine powers. Grandiel and Ellex do not need to be so thirsty for Mayerie. Radita is nice too, and if controlling their magic is that important one of them should marry Radita...but that won't happen because we need a love triangle.
There's no strategy. There's no intrigue. Grandiel and Ellex just start following her around...even though they're supposed to be doing shit. Grandiel wants to be Emperor, but everybody still thinks he's a disabled invalid by chapter thirty???? Ellex needs to control his violent power...sure but he's got duties and Mayerie was his creepy stalker. He falls in love way too fast.
Tumblr media
The art is painful. The magic powers are all ugly. They don't even have cool names. There are no cool poses. Everybody walks around like a stick figure, and the characters have bobble heads. The whole webtoon looks cheap.
Tumblr media
This random panel of Grandiel in disguise is one of the best. That's sad. This author shot down their own unique ideas, and I hate that. Everybody has the same face too. It's jarring. I don't think this webtoon will make it to its mediocre ending.

Random Discourse about Sakura and women:
Anime community especially MEN is wack pls I’m begging y’all just say u hate women and MOVE ON it’s getting EMBARRASSING how blatant misogyny is showing or just watch the BARBIE 2023 movie (aka feminism/the patriarchy broken down in the simplest terms possible) 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️‼️‼️
I’m an adult woman and have broken down my internalized misogyny that plagued me as a child in the anime community aka I got over the whole “Sakura is useless” thing which was lowkey funny 10 years ago but is NOW very much giving off hating women vibes.
Like as an adult I can wholeheartedly say that I do not expect men to be able to write female characters properly. Hence as a baseline all female characters r automatically considered “cool” until they prove otherwise bc ik for a fact that their faults r due to the author. Especially in anime where we’ve seen over and over again how female characters lack where their male counterparts prosper. (I’m an anthropology student and I very much want to write a dissertation on sexual repression/misogyny in Japanese culture bc I recently visited and YIKES but that’s irrelevant rn lol).
It’s very much disappointed but not surprised and I will say that in the Shounen category it’s gotten a lot better (such as chainsaw man✨chefs kiss✨ or JJK) where female characters are just like the protagonist aka normal ppl without the whole tsundere archetype that’s automatically assigned to female characters (I cannot help but think that archetype was created by men’s lack of comprehension of women eventually turning into comedic violence. Which in a meta viewpoint means that women have to be physically strong/inhibit violence in order to be a “strong” character/stand beside their male counterpart. Which is just untrue and annoying god I hate that archetype). There’s definitely been an improvement of women just being goofy and unhinged and I love that (once again Power), and I can’t help but think that Naruto was probably a big influence in that.
Say what u will about the series but Naruto was definitely a pioneer/classic archetypes for modern shounen. My babygirl Sasuke is the OG angsty-dark haired boy in a trio ft the MC and main girl, the traumatized aloof teacher, tournament arcs, etc. Part of that influence is also learning from the mistakes of the series, specifically the most prominent female character aka learning to write women from Kishimoto’s mistakes.
Idk I feel like it’s just so hard to be a woman and watch anime only bc the female characters are so lacking most of the time. Once again there have been improvements but it feels like we’re doing a “congrats u’ve done the bare minimum” or there’s themes of feminism/foreshadowing development but that’s basically dropped. For example: BNHA all the girls in 1-A have the exact same personality (minus Jirou). They’re all cheerful, bubbly, nice and it’s not bad it’s just fucking BORING like it would’ve been a lot more entertaining to have a somewhat female Bakugo or even Mirko-like personality in the class. Or ooooh give me a misunderstood MEAN GIRL (Ao No Flag QUEEN MAMI I LOVE HER SO MUCH‼️😩😩). In BNHA in the beginning there was definitely the theme of treatment of female heroes that was gonna be set up but dropped. Ex: Momo being sexualized (another discourse), Bakugo vs Uraraka and how Bakugo was being booed for not holding back on a girl, etc….
“Sakura is useless” = “blank is a better love story than Twilight” in my head….truly just say u hate teenage girls/ANY activity girls enjoy (I will never forgive ppl for making fun of girls for buying hydro flasks) and move on the conversation is tiring and BORING. Aka I love Twilight UNIRONICALLY and ironically like 7th grade me was a die hard STAN and I love that about myself which made living thru the active 2012 twilight era painful. Even my king Robert Pattinson said hating twilight isn’t cool anymore 🫡🫡🫡
Flashfoward I think I’m more than qualified to say that to ME Sakura is just okay. I will argue there’s only 4 well written female characters in Naruto (TSUNADE, KONAN, Karin and Kushina). Like even if I wasn’t a diehard SNS shipper I feel like overall she’s just aight, once again I’m kinda just neutral on her bc she’s just kinda there up until that ridiculous war arc that I semi refuse to believe exists. I have OPINIONS on the whole “new age Sannin/Team 7 dynamic” that everyone loves but feels like lazy writing.
Not saying anything to fanfic writers or Sakura Stans bc y’all do u, but I feel like it says a lot in a sad way how Sakura is shipped with every single male character in the series or how in fanfic she’s given Mokutan or part of a clan (which admittedly is very fun to think about). I can’t help but feel that she’s such a blank slate that u really CAN ship her with every character and it would somehow work. For example: could you do that to someone like Sasuke? I mean if ur a talented enough writer than SLAY but for the most part Sasuke has such a defined personality and VALUES that it’s HARD. Or Sakura is born into a clan and given a cool jutsu (which kinda disregards the point of her character: being one of the only Civilian born kids/normal person in her whole class thrown into the terrible and cruel world of Naruto and having to actually work to even SURVIVE not to mention trying to “catch up” to an Uchiha and the 9 tails). Once again fanfic writers you do you I’ll eat that shit up no cap LOL
This post was originally a crack post but turned into a discourse of women in anime LMAOO anyways here’s the actual post:
I am CONVINCED every fandom has a self insert character like for Naruto it’s SAKURA bc the way she’s shipped with EVERY character is so funny (where do y’all come up with MADARA AND SAKURA LIKE WHAT SHSJSKKSKKSK)
Like omg in Game of Thrones it’s totallyyyy JON or Sansa (which kinda makes me sad bc they’re both super unhinged in the books esp Jon mans is basically the teenage manager of the worst McDonald’s in Alaska like his POVs r sooo funny and melodramatic)
In Tokyo Rev it’s Takemichi bc how is he a cannon folder in his own anime 😭😭😭 or maybe it’s bc everyone is horny that they gotta be Takemichi to get with one of the boys in fanfic LOLL😵‍💫😵‍💫

rhaenyra and alicent's relationship gets to me because it's pure tragedy. and their tragedy is not (SPOILER i guess) each of their deaths during the dance, but everything that happens before. the tragedy of alicent being forced to build a "romantic" relationship with viserys, and rhae only finding out about it when the betrothal is formalised.
the tragedy of alicent being made to birth rhaenyra's opponent (and here is another tragedy, rhaenyra growing distant of her own siblings because she convinces herself they are her opponents).
of building some trust again, of being in the cusp of a renewed friendship, but not enough for rhaenyra to confide to alicent about the pleasure house. the tragedy of rhaenyra swearing on her mother and alicent having to find out about the lie from criston's mouth, and being told by her father it's her fault for believing her beloved old friend that he is being sent away, that if her children are put to the sword it'll be her own fault as well.
of not even ten years being enough to help them trust each other again, that they have apparently found more and more ways to hurt one another, that alicent makes not so subtle comments about rhaenyra's sons' true father. that alicent, unwillingly, utterly and completely unwillingly, causes the death of that father.
of the resentment of the mothers passing to the kids and ultimately causing the loss of aemond's eye. of rhaenyra's panic of losing the throne making her cruel towards her injured brother and alicent seeing that her father might be right, that her children might die because of the heir's greed. of the first time in what might be years that they hold each other is with alicent holding a knife to rhaenyra's face, with them exchanging cruel words and alicent making rhaenyra bleed with a targaryen blade (and the parallels with valyrian wedding customs are incredible, i hope it was intentional).
of seeing one another six years later, tensions high but still longing for each other. of what could have been an excellent dinner with their families, of "and for that she has my gratitude, and my apology" and "you will make a fine queen". getting to hold each other again, this time softly, alicent caressing rhaenyra's arm (the one with the scar maybe? can't remember), pleading for her to come back to king's landing soon.
of a relationship built again, except the father, the husband, dies, with his last words being misunderstood and alicent having to act on it, because her husband asked her to put their son on the throne, and how could she disobey? the horrifying realisation that the small council has been planning to overthrow rhaenyra for months, and yet still doing everything she can to protect the old heir, to protect her friend. "you must reject this counsel" being almost pleading because she knows the power otto could have over aegon.
of a page ripped years ago "so you remember" being the last resource alicent has to beg rhaenyra to accept the terms that could keep her alive, of rhaenyra's tears and promise to consider it, to give up what she has been fighting for for years. but a son kills a son, and it all falls down.
in hotd the dance is (in part) the tragedy of two girls who loved, might have been in love with, each other, but their relationship was destroyed by the men around them and now they are women trying desperately to keep themselves and their loved ones safe while also trying to hold to each other, but never getting there before something else ruins it.

KINN THEERAPANYAKUL, MY FAVORITE CHARACTER.
(Characther analysis or the character development of Kinn)
Kinn is one of the most overhated, unappracieted, understimated and misunderstood character of KinnPorsche but he’s my favorite character, I’m a proud Kinn defender and apologist so I felt the need to write this long post about this incredible character.
In the first episode Kinn is immediately presented as the ruthless mafia boss who killed a person firing a bullet into his head without thinking twice, who killed the men of the Italian boss and send them to him as ‘’gifts’’ and who was ready to kill Porsche if he hadn’t accepted to be his bodyguard. He seemed superb, he was cold and felt like he had power over other’s people life infact the first thing he said to Porsche when he started to work for him was ‘’Don’t forget that your life is mine’’.
In the second and in the third episodes we discover something else about Kinn, that he’s a caring person. He cares about his big brother a lot because when Porsche kills his carpes he tries to calm him by saying he will buy other fishes but he also cares about his bodyguards, in particular about Porsche, yes he often gets mad at him because he’s a troublemaker but he also saves him from the minor family, he does it in a brutal way but he does it because he’s so fascinated by him, by this man who is so different from him, so free, so carefree. He probably doesn’t understand why but he feels the need to protect him and he does it, in the third episode he saves him from the bullett, he also takes care of his wound. But in this episode we also discover another thing, he’s struggling, he feels trapped in a life he doesn’t want, he’s obliged to live this life, to kill people, to be ruthless but we also get to see a softer side of him… he feels so connected to Porsche and he’s so tender now with him so he kisses him and allows himself to feel something he hasn’t felt for a long time since he hasn’t kissed anyone in a long time.
At the beginning of the fourth episode we see a conflicted Kinn, he thinks that what he did ruined everything with Porsche so he talks to him immediately because he doesn’t want problems with him, he’s direct and I like this characteristic so much. In this episode we also see that he has developed strong feelings for Porsche and there’s no way back, he shows another side of him, he let everyone see how he’s when he starts to fall in love but unfortunately he does a mistake… even though he tries to control himself he has sex with Porsche who is drugged, willing, but still drugged.
We see, in ep 5, how this mistake torments him, he asks Porsche if he’s okay, he wants him to rest but he’s forced by his father to punish him… he doesn’t want to do it but he has to because he needs to remember something he was probably forgetting, he’s the mafia heir, there’s no room for weakness or love and even though he’s devastated and hurt just as Porsche is he has to do what he has to do and we see once again the cold Kinn that is even colder than episode 1 but he melts as soon as Pete tells him that Porsche has gone back home and when he goes to him he also follows Pete’s advise and tries to patient and calm with him because even if it doesn't seem like it he do cares about him, a lot.
In the ep 6 we finally see the real Kinn, the one that made me and Porsche fall in love with him. When he doesn’t have to follow the rules, when he’s not the Mafia heir, when he’s free…He smiles, he shows his inner child, he wants to know more about Porsche, he talks about his dream and we see once again how the weight of being a Mafia boss consumes him, exhausts him. We also see that he’s not heartless like he may seem on the contrary he has a big heart and he shows it when he apologize to Porsche, he beg him to forgive him, he set him free because he wants to see him happy and lastly he took a bullet for him.
In ep 7 and 8 we see the lover Kinn and we learn that despite everything he went trough he never lost his ability to love. In ep 7 we see the insicure,  jealous lover, vulnerable lover that cries after their moment of intimacy because of all the stress and the emotions. He’s so scared of losing Porsche that he doubts him but infact he never really doubts him because despite his trust issues he actually always trust Porsche, the one he doesn’t trust is Vegas. In ep 8 we see his sweet, loving, caring side, he’s a devoted lover that is ready to do anything for the one he loves.
After ep 9 everyone really hated Kinn for locking up Porsche but I was so sure he loved and trusted him, he had a plan and infact he showed that he was a smart, cunning boss and he just wanted to protect the man he loved.
In the episodes 10, 11, 13 and 14 we also can see that he’s an amazing boss that deeply cares about his people. In particular in ep 10, he’s destoyed by Big’s death, he starts smoking and drinks more and he feels so guilty for what happened to him. Also in ep 11 when Pete (Vegas) sends the messages about the vacation, he’s sceptical and so worried about him and when in ep 13 he return he’s so relieved and happy. Lastly in ep 14 when Pol is shot he protect him from other bullets and he does the same with Pete and then when he resigns, he looks so sad and broken because he’s losing the man he trusts the most.
Above all in the 11, 12, 13 and 14 episodes he showed how much he has changed, grown, he has became a better person, he demostrated to be the best boyfriend. Kinn went from being cold, from not trusting anyone, from not showing his emotions to be one of the most caring, sweet, kind, honest and loving person and character. He has apologized over and over again for his mistakes, went from saying that Porsche’s life was his to say that his life meant the world for him, from sleeping with a gun to sleeping peacely entrusting his life and heart to Porsche. I will always love Kinn, this profound, beautiful, amazing character.
And I will always be thankful to Mile for portraying him in the best way 💓.

NorFin Day 1: Nature
Linking in the AO3 version in case it's easier to read.
@norfin-week
Shit. I almost forgot to add the recommended listening.
• I also recommend listening to Woodland Folk by Ella Roberts while reading!
There’s a story that the nearby village knows well; a story that has been passed down from generation to generation. The story of two men, Tino and Sigurd, who lived near the river. They had fallen in love and built a house together, promising their lives to one another. And for many years, they did. But war came, and they were split up in the coming battles.
Tino returned home, but found it empty, and believed that Sigurd had been lost. He took his skills that he’d found on the battlefield and got work as a Hunter, tracking and killing monsters and beasts that caused people distress and harm. He abandoned his home and all the dreams he’d built with his partner, in favor of something he believed he would be doing for the rest of his days.
But Sigurd also lived, and came back to an empty home. He, however, waited. He had the hope that perhaps Tino had lost, and he used it to get through many lonely days and nights. For years, he kept their home and the land and waited for Tino to return -- until his hope finally faded into disrepair.
He refused to leave all their hard work, all the memories of the two of them, everything they had built together. Instead, he went to the woods to find the fae and ask a favor. He begged and bargained until they took him back to the river.
For a moment, Sigurd feared that they’d misunderstood or he’d worded himself incorrectly as he followed their instructions and stepped into the river, felt himself get swept under. But instead of losing himself, he became the water. He could move and churn as freely as the rushing water; there was no real way for him to determine where it started and where he ended.
One may think that that would be the end of the tale, but Sigurd’s bargaining hadn’t left him emotionless. Whether he was aware of it or not, he tormented the village. In rages, the river would rise and swell, flooding the village when they were the least prepared for it. When he was sad and withdrawn, the river seemed to be lower and wouldn’t provide the water needed for crops. The villagers tried to appease the river sprite, but nothing worked.
It was these woes that eventually brought Tino home. The villagers asked for him to rid their town of the sprite, as it did nothing but harm to them. Tino thought it would hurt, to return to a place that he had once regarded with such fondness. He listened to the people, and followed the river back to his old home, dismayed to find it in such disrepair…
When the time came to face the sprite, he was surprised at the familiar face he found in the waters, the cry that seemed to come from all around him -- a cry of both joy and rage. You came home.
I thought you were dead. Tino found himself wading into the water, searching for his lover in a sort of desperation that he hadn’t known since he’d left an empty house so many years ago…
Though there is much debate on exactly what came next, the local legends all agree that neither left their home after that. The waters of the river are steady, and none of the villagers dare wander up that way any longer. They say that on warm summer nights, the river seems louder and villagers talk about how they see a man near the shores, dancing with the fae and fireflies.
Tino and Sigurd, they say, still care for their home and enjoy the place that they had first loved.

And still it all links back to the 6x01 Kitchen scene.
‘What are you offering?’
Natalia offered Buck a different way to cope with his death and view himself in the aftermath. She offered what Buck thought he needed, compared to the way his friends and family were trying to help. And then when push came to shove, she lost the spark because all she was interested in was this ‘death experience’ that Buck was offering.
Where as Marisol offered Eddie exactly what he needed, on a literal level, and the man who has started to feel lonely and want romance took it as a sign (despite the fact he doesn’t believe in them).
Buck and Eddie throughout the season have offered each other both things too through domesticity, taking care of each other and even the dates they both tried and failed in this ep.
‘He has so many excellent options right under his nose.’ ‘Like you.’ ‘It’s like he’s choosing not to see them.’
Hmmm. I wonder who else both have exactly what they’re looking for under their noses. They’re both the answers to each others questions and yet they’re both ignoring this because they don’t see yet that the other is truly an option because ultimately they are both bad at dating and romance. (Sorry Buck.) They’re both their right in front of each other but they just keep missing on another. (Buck dates Natalia but when it breaks down Eddie now thinks he’s found his spark with Marisol). And this is further emphasised by Bobby’s discussion with Eddie which he completely misunderstood because Bobby literally described his and Bucks relationship (and JCC wrote the breakdown ep where Buck sat with Eddie so I feel it was intentional).
‘Three tries to get it right.’
- Abby, Taylor, Natalia all saying ‘Take care’ as they leave.
- Shanon, Ana and now Marisol, people Eddie has met and tried to stay with because of the chemistry. People he stayed with or met due to Christopher (the whole reason he was at the hardware store was for Chris’ project). Once again not truly following his own heart. But Eddie walked away from Marisol, and sure she’s back next ep so he could ask her out or but we don’t know yet.
Because ‘Time.’
It’s been a theme all season for Eddie quite overtly since this scene but I’d say underneath it’s also been one for Buck- Time running out when he died and in the coma world. Time left on the pregnancy he was a surrogate for (and the time he had to get the donation in to begin with). Time spent trying to date someone and the universe showing him no (and from what Oliver said I feel this time Buck will listen to the universe and not accept someone who doesn’t meet him where he is).
And time that is going to put things into perspective as a bridge collapses away whilst they’re on it and causes everything to stop for the whole firefam.
And ofc ‘I don’t want to pick the wrong couch again.’
Because it’s just getting louder and louder every ep. The loneliness of Buck on his uncomfortable couch from his mother whilst there’s a romance montage. The empty space on Eddie’s Couch at the start with him and Chris begging for Buck to come fall asleep on it again. The couch has been focal in at least five eps this season and it’s all heading into the finale to tie up somethings subtly and overtly.
If the season ends with a Buckley-Diaz couch scene (and I’m like pretty convinced at this point) then they’re Schrödinger’s Canon to me because the couch being connected to this little family is a signal that they’re going there (probably next season). Where they can build up this relationship between two men who have deeply impacted the others life, who need each other and support each other and both want and deserve this love- they’re just having trouble staying on the right path to find it.

She's not there: A life in two genders by Jennifer Finney Boylan
goodreads
Tumblr media
She’s Not There is the story of a person changing genders, the story of a person bearing and finally revealing a complex secret; above all, it is a love story.
By turns funny and deeply moving, Jennifer Finney Boylan explores the remarkable territory that lies between men and women, examines changing friendships, and rejoices in the redeeming power of family. She’s Not There is a portrait of a loving marriage—the love of James for his wife, Grace, and, against all odds, the enduring love of Grace for the woman who becomes her "sister," Jenny.
To this extraordinary true story, Boylan brings the humorous, fresh voice that won her accolades as one of the best comic novelists of her generation. With her distinctive and winning perspective, She’s Not There explores the dramatic outward changes and unexpected results of life as a woman: Jenny fights the urge to eat salad, while James consumed plates of ribs; gone is the stability of "one damn mood, all the damn time."
While Boylan’s own secret was unusual, to say the least, she captures the universal sense of feeling uncomfortable, out of sorts with the world, and misunderstood by her peers. Jenny is supported on her journey by her best friend, novelist Richard Russo, who goes from begging his friend to "Be a man" (in every sense of the word) to accepting her as an attractive, buoyant woman. "The most unexpected thing," Russo writes in his Afterword to the book, "is in how Jenny’s story we recognize our shared humanity."
As James evolves into Jennifer in scenes that are by turns tender, startling, and witty, a marvelously human perspective emerges on issues of love, sex, and the fascinating relationship between our physical and our intuitive selves. Through the clear eyes of a truly remarkable woman, She’s Not There provides a new window on the often confounding process of accepting ourselves.
Mod opinion: I haven‘t read this book yet and since I don‘t normally enjoy memoirs I probably wont.

Love Is Blind Season 5 Premeire
Women
“Have you ever been to therapy?” Not quite the questions I was hoping to see, but it’s a start. I’ll take it.
LMAO Lydia being misunderstood constantly
Johnie, if they feel some type of way about you having been married already, they not the one. Also I know this show makes y’all go fast but damn saying I love you on the first date? Even the golden couples (Lauren&Cameron, Brett&Tiffany) didn’t move THAT fast.
Miriam why is it like pulling teeth to get basic answers? And every answer you give is conflicting with a previous one.
I don’t think Izzy is super into you Lydia.
See? I called it Lydia. The reason is that he’s not as into you as you are into him. Don’t try to beg or question why. It’s nothing you did. He just didn’t click with you.
Aaliyah is great. I love her. Supporting other women. We love to see it. She didn’t tear him down either, she just said if he’s not feeling it, he’s not the one but you still deserve to be loved.
But Stacy and Johnie over there happy as hell to know he dumped her. I don’t like that.
Damn Aaliyah. Maybe you need closure on other things first.
Men
Izzy, the bald head doesn’t look bad on you, not everyone can pull that off.
So far I like Izzy. Let’s hope I keep liking him.
Chris looks familiar. As in I’ve seen him on reality tv before.
Milton, you are a complete nerd. Sounds like you want a shcience partner not a wife.
Damn. Izzy getting all the girls.
Fuck Izzy, why’d you have to ask what she was wearing?
Oh Chris. That’s terrible I’m sorry that happened to you.
Damn Uche is out here for Aaliyah’s neck. He ain’t letting up. Oh she gone bro.
Possible couples
Milton and Lydia- I don’t know how I feel about this.
Izzy and Lydia-A better fit I think. But not the best.
JP and Taylor- boring. Sorry but I didn’t pay attention to their hconvo at all.
Izzy and Stacy- feel like fun but not long term.
Izzy and Johnie- okay I could see them together.
JP and Taylor - still boring.
Uche and Aaliyah- to be determined.
Miscellaneous
Um. I didn’t see any black couples in that preview.
I agree with Aaliyah. Everybody needs their own space.
Lydia and Aaliyah friendship for the win.

omg where do i even begin w love you x 3... honestly one of the best fics i've ever read ever and i went in thinking "oh haha a misandrist oc she just like me" and got served, spoon fed, auto refilled my drink, cleaned my mouth w a napkin, and tucked me into bed like I LOVE IT SM!!!!!
i love how u don't sway her one bit from her views and instead made her learn to trust and open up, i love how she's dripping in pure female rage and yet still keeps a stable head like she knows she went too far when she made beomgyu cry, i love how snarky and egotistical and prideful she is like she is everything i am but lowkey lmao
AND OMG I CANT EVER ENCAPSULATE HOW MUCH I WANT A MAN LIKE BEOMGYU!!!!
he is everything i long for in a man, i can't count on my fingers how many men, romantically or not, have lost patience in me and gave up when all i did was test them, and i cried a lil like beomgyu just exceeds all of my expectations for a man and he set a new bar for me now lmao.
seriously head over heels, from the first night they married, and him learning not to hurt her pride and ego lmao, him giving her space and letting her go back to him once she wants him, him taking her fear seriously once he realized how much it's affecting her, him very bluntly rejecting that girl, him being so nonchalant abt what everyone thinks of his masculinity even when he's challenged on it and losing he's not the slightest bit concerned abt his image, all he thought abt was how she probably wants a guy like yeonjun (which false lol)
he is so secure in his masculinity that all he thinks abt is how to please his wife... like please please omg send him my way i beg
oh also i love when she met her parents again and her father asks how are u doing my flower and she just replied deflowered IM FLOORED BEST LINE I'VE EVER READ
i usually don't write this long of a feedback but ur fic just tapped into my soul and now i get why ppl are hopeless romantics 🚶‍♀️
while i adore the fact that you loved the story so much i have to address a part of your message
"can't count on my fingers how many men, romantically or not, have lost patience in me and gave up when all i did was test them"
i don't think "testing" people is good or healthy from either men or women. playing with people to see if they will stay or not just creates heartbreak just like you've experienced. i think you've misunderstood the point i was making with the oc. it's not to say she is right about her misanderist views and that the worthy man will jump through hoops to prove himself to her. it's that oc, while valid in her distrust of men especially during that time period, is wrong to just write off every man as misogynistic and an asshole even when they've done nothing to deserve that judgement. i even hinted at it with how oc said her own father sold her off when in fact he didn't. he wanted to protect her because he knew when he dies other men will attempt to take her money.
but yes beomgyu in that fic was just so wonderful and lovely and sadly probably doesn't exist but we can dream 😪
