Let's talk about life for a minute
Hi - I'm Grim: an electric sliderule on the binary, head full of metaphorical demons, and struggling for air constantly.
I am a brittle type 1 diabetic after my pancreas failed a few years back, and I live with cptsd, type 1 bipolar, adhd, and an eating disorder that I struggle with. A lot of these things the reason why I have not been able to hold onto a job in a decade - despite trying and failing. (my resume looks atrocious...)
I've made a post or two offering services to try to help with my situation, but there have been absolutely no bites yet and I'm starting to become desperate. My partner can only shoulder so much, and I'm so tired of asking my mother in law for money. ("ask your own mom!" she's dead, Monica.)
Im looking to be able to save up $2000 for food/rent/bills, pay off debt, as well as to be able to get started on my Online Boutique and Witchery shop to steadily keep the flow coming in, as little as that might be. I need to help this family in some way and that's something i can keep up with.
I can offer:
❤️Bibliomancy divination readings at $5 for a simple reading
❤️Beta reading/editing for original and fanfiction stories priced out as linked above.
Please help me get out of this hole I am in. I accept CashApp and PayPal (message me for PP) and I'm more than willing to answer any questions you may have.
Thanks for reading.

Comparing Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint and I Want To Eat Your Pancreas [SPOILERS]
I will be mostly discussing themes of choice and love, so if you have not already I implore you to read my post about orv and themes of choice here.
I Want To Eat Your Pancreas is about a girl named Sakura who is terminally ill. A boy named Haruki stumbled upon her diary during a hospital visit. It was titled “Living with Dying.” He is the only one aside from her family that knows of her illness. Because of this, a special bond forms between them. She begins to pester him by getting a job in the library he works at. She tells him a story about how if someone were to eat a healthy version of the infected part of their body, they’d be cured of their ailments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She begins to show up everywhere and tells him that she wants to spend the rest of her life hanging out with him. Haruki does not have friends. Much like Kim Dokja, he spends his days with his nose in a book—he thinks people do not want to know him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite his expressing annoyance at her insistence, he still finds himself accompanying her. Fulfilling this list of things she wanted to do before she died. When hanging out, they have the following conversation:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He says no one is interested in him and so he isn’t interested in others. He is happy to let all relationships start and die in his head. She says immediately that she is interested in him—something that leaves him speechless. She actually lectures him on his poor habit of deciding everyone dislikes him. He doesn’t /let/ people love him. This is much like Kim Dokja’s mindset in the sense that he refuses to let people know him. He can’t comprehend the idea that anyone would /want/ to know him.
Sakura’s friends tell her they could find her someone better. Someone more interesting and not as boring. But she continues to hang out with him. They keep asking her why and she just says “we just get along.” There doesn’t need to be a reason to like someone. You don’t need to be extraordinary to be worthy of someone’s care and attention. Like Kim Dokja, whose life was another tragedy. Kim Dokja who was just a salaryman; a lousy employee who liked to read. A boy who avoided the complexities of relationships with fiction. Both Kim Dokja and Haruki think relationships bring problems. They are physically incapable of imagining a world where someone could care for someone are average as them. Being alone is easier. It’s easier to assume no one will like you because then you don’t face rejection.
Tumblr media
Sakura tells him to stop spending so much time reading books and instead focus on spending time with /people/. Something he doesn’t do until the end of the film. In fact, one boy continuously reached out to Haruki by offering gum and he always refused.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With this continuous refusal, he does continue to accompany Sakura. After the two spend a spontaneous vacation together, Haruki even has a moment of honesty. A moment where he admits that he had fun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This reminds me of Dokja coming to terms with the fact that even though he doesn’t believe in fantasies, he wants to enjoy his time with his companions. He never lets himself /want/ anything, but the safety and companionship these people provide him give him hope. As seen below, Kim Dokja says it’s easier to survive alone. Comfortable even. But he ends it with a “but..” I want to be with you. I want to love you despite all the problems that come with being by your side. Because with love comes pain, but I’ll carry that pain.
Tumblr media
Later in the film, Haruki and Sakura argue and he proclaims that he should’ve never tried to interact with others. All he brings to others is pain. It’s similar to Kim Dokja coping with the fact that the novel that brought him these companions also ruined them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She tells him that’s not true and he insists she should be with someone else who can care for her more. They just met by chance. Their relationship wasn’t special. She says it wasn’t a coincidence—that everyone is what they are because of the choices they’ve made.
“You're wrong. It wasn't chance. Everyone is where they are because of the choices they've made. Our choices led us to being in the same class. Our choices brought us to the hospital. Not chance. There's no such thing as fate. All the choices you've made and all the choices I've made brought us together. You and I met by our own decisions.”
Much like I say in my orv and the power of choice analysis, choosing to love someone is the most powerful act of free will we can choose as human beings. To /choose/ to love someone. How every day, every moment, every second is made up of countless choices we've made. How coincidences don't truly exist, because we end up where we are at each moment because of a choice someone made. Life is full of choices. Some are worse than others. It matters what we do with the next choice. It matters what we do with the choices we make. It matters how we factor in others' thoughts and feelings into the choices we make. Life is nothing without human connection. Making the choice to continue living.. the choice to have those relationships even though they're scary and uncertain. That’s what living is all about.
“Living...... Means having bonds with others. Paying attention to someone. Loving someone. Hating someone. Having fun being with someone. Taking someone’s hand. That’s what it means to live. If you’re all alone, you cant tell that you exist. Your relationship with others, is what defines being alive. I know my mind exists, since I can interact with others. I know my body exists, because others touch me. That’s where the purpose of being alive comes from. Just like we’ve been chosen to live out this moment here and now.”
Sakura asks Haruki: you want me to live? And he says yes, very much. Just like how orv teaches its readers that someone out there wants you to exist. Someone out there desperately wants to write you a story. Someone out there wants you to know that they love you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Letting yourself want something. Wanting someone else to live. It reminds me of Kim Dokja proclaiming his wish of living in a big house with everyone. It’s not selfish to want to be loved. It’s not selfish to crave human interaction. Someone out there /wants/ to give that to you.
After this, Haruki begins to let people in. He finally accepts the gum. He expresses his care that normally goes unspoken to Sakura. He begins to truly live. When the destruction of the world began in orv, it was the start of Kim Dokja’s life. He began to let people love him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Haruki chose to pick up that diary. Kim Dokja chose to read that story. Haruki chose to accompany Sakura. Kim Dokja chose to stick by his companions. They chose to walk alongside these people which cause them unbearable pain, but show them how beautiful life can be.
When he’s waiting for her at the cafe, he says he’s thinking about her. He says she is so much more amazing than him, and he wants to become like her. able to love and acknowledge others. Able to /be/ loved. He sends her one final message: “I want to eat your pancreas.”
Tumblr media
He waits and waits and she never arrives. He leaves the cafe and comes home to the news that she’s been murdered.
A man who at the beginning said he didn’t care for others, suddenly unable to walk up the stairs. Overtaken with grief. Clutching his phone with that final message as he cried. The book he promised to read and return still sitting on his shelf.
Sakura’s mother gave him her diary after the funeral, and in it contained a farewell letter addressed to him.
Haruki thought as he read the letter that he wanted to know her epilogue. She said there were many times she thought she had fallen in love with him. But that their relationship couldn’t be summed up by simple terms like love or friendship.
Tumblr media
In her letter, she says she thinks he’s a really amazing person. In turn he says it’s not true, he’s a coward. Just like how Kim Dokja had viewed himself as average, unlovable, and impossible to be cared for. But Sakura loved Haruki. Han Sooyoung loved Kim Dokja. Despite there being almost nothing special about these two, someone saw a light within them that even themselves couldn’t locate.
Sakura always thought of herself as an average girl with a shorter lifespan. “But you cared for an uninteresting girl like me. You, who have no need for relationships like friendship or love, chose none other than me. Perhaps I’ve spent 17 years waiting to be needed by you.”
She reiterates that their relationship can’t be summed up with stuffy words, so she decides on one final message: I want to eat your pancreas. He opens her phone and finds tearfully that his final message, the same she wished to send to him, reached her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After reading her diary and seeing the message was received. He turns to her mother and asks: “Can I cry now?” Letting himself sit in the grief he refused to feel. Grief is all the unspoken love we have for those who have left us. He proclaims: I lived my life just to meet you. Thank you.
Her mother invited him and Kyoko (Sakurra's best friend) to come have dinner at the house sometime. After that he makes attempts to connect with Kyoko, despite her outward dislike for him. Sakura had always wished for them to get along. He tells her the truth of their relationship, and let’s her see Sakura’s diary. He chases after her when she flees the cafe where they met and asks that for her to forgive him one day. He asks that one day they can be friends like Sakura had wished.
Tumblr media
I Want To Eat Your Pancreas and orv both tell stories of unremarkable people. Ordinary individuals who hide away from the complexities of human relationships to protect themselves. But these stories show their readers that you don’t have to be anything other than yourself to be worthy of love. You don’t need to be class president to be friends with someone, you don’t need to be the protagonist to do something amazing. You don’t need to do anything other than be yourself for someone out there to see you for who you are and choose to love you. Someone out there wants to read your epilogue. Someone out there wants you to exist just as you are.

Hey Mac
So i have a question
I got diagnosed with Insulin resistance and the doctor decided to put me on Metformin-for fear of getting type II DM-It runs in ma family-anyway
My question is what does Metformin do to the sugar um ingesting-i mean um trying to cut back but i have this concern-and what if i took something sweet while on it? Um too conscious about this but i can't cope really well with such a drastic change
In order to understand metformin, you have to understand Type 2 Diabetes and the role the hormone insulin plays in regulating blood sugar.
Every cell in your body uses sugar for energy. Blood delivers that sugar to the cells, which keeps them alive. You have an organ called a pancreas that monitors the amount of sugar in the blood and uses hormones to regulate it. When the amount of blood sugar rises (like, after you eat something), the pancreas releases the hormone insulin, which basically tells the cells “okay, we have plenty of food, you can go ahead and use all that tasty sugar for energy.” As the cells use the sugar, they remove it from the blood, and blood sugar drops. If there is more sugar than needed to keep the cells alive and working, that extra sugar gets stored as fat or as a starch called glycogen in the liver and muscles.
When working correctly, this process maintains blood sugar between about 60 and 100 (though it can be higher if the person has recently eaten).
Insulin resistance is when cells stop responding to insulin normally, and it takes more insulin before the cells get the message to start using or storing sugar. Type 2 Diabetes occurs when this gets severe enough that the pancreas can no longer keep the amount of sugar in the blood in a normal range. When the amount of sugar in the blood is higher than normal, it does damage to blood vessels and organs. You may also feel tired and sick if your cells aren’t getting the energy they need. This is why people with Type 2 Diabetes are asked to eat less sugar/carbohydrates (which helps decrease the amount of sugar circulating in the blood), exercise (muscle cells can use some sugar without needing to be sensitive to insulin), and take medications that increase the amount of insulin the pancreas produces or increases cells’ sensitivity to insulin.
Metformin is a drug that works in a few different ways. First, it helps increase cells’ sensitivity to insulin. This helps the cells have a more normal response to insulin- letting them remove and use more of the sugar from the blood. Second, it prevents the uptake of some sugar from the digestive tract. That means you’re only absorbing some of the sugar you eat, and the rest gets pooped out, thus contributing less sugar to your blood. Third, it decreases the amount of sugar that your liver releases when your pancreas releases glucagon. Which is still less sugar that your body has to figure out what to do with.
When you eat sugar/carbohydrates as someone with diabetes or insulin resistance on metformin, you poop some of the sugar out. The remaining sugar enters your blood stream and triggers insulin release, which your cells can use more easily due to the metformin. When your pancreas then releases glucagon, you liver doesn’t release as much sugar as it otherwise would, and your blood sugar stays in a more normal range.
Unlike other drugs that treat T2D, metformin is unique in that it doesn’t cause life-threatening hypoglycemia when taken without the appropriate amount of food. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal, and usually go away in a few weeks. Some research has also shown that people taking metformin tend to have less cardiovascular disease later in life and many lose a small amount of weight. All of these reasons make it a very safe early intervention for people with diabetes and pre-diabetes.

MY Tashigi fancasts
Jessica Henwick:
- looks just like an older version of Kuina’s actress, Audrey Cymone. I had to do a double take the first time I saw her to make sure it wasn’t Jessica lmao
- if you’re an MCU enjoyer or have seen any of her other movies where she has fight scenes, you know she has no problem doing stunts.
Tumblr media
Kimie Tsukakoshi
- I always thought her and Jessica Henwick looked kinda similar and could play half-siblings in something, so I added her to the Tashigi fancasts.
- you might know her from The Bureau of Magical Things or Great White (TBOMT is so such a cute show, please watch it)
Tumblr media
Minami Hamabe
- played Yumeko in the Kakegurui live action
- was also in Kamen Rider, the Let Me Eat Your Pancreas and Anohana live actions, etc.
- I know this fancast won’t ever become a reality cuz Minami doesn’t speak English, but from a visual standpoint, she’s my favorite out of all my Tashigi fancasts
Tumblr media
Sei Shiraishi
- you might know her from Girl Gun Lady or Prince of Legend
- another fancast that won’t become a reality cuz Sei doesn’t speak English

Please don’t come for me, but I have discovered something:
✨0 calorie sodas are not as great as you think they are✨
Let me explain.
Most 0 calorie sodas are sweetened with “non-nutritive sweeteners” such as aspartame.
While these sweeteners have little to no calories at all, the amazing thing is that they taste super sweet right?? WRONG
The sweet taste in your mouth tricks your brain into sending messages to your pancreas that sugar is coming. Your pancreas then produces insulin in order to combat the expected sugar intake.
First of all YOU CANNOT BURN CALORIES if your insulin levels are too high, they have to drop in order to be in a weight loss zone.
Second and probably worst, now that your body has prepared for the rush of sugar it was tricked into expecting, it has made space for it and produced insulin - but it receives none. So that means it needs something.
Your body will CRAAAAAVE calories because your insulin levels are so high
If you’ve ever had a monster ultra for lunch and then felt more lightheaded than usual and feel like you need to eat or you will die a couple hours later - this is why
If you have been struggling with unwanted binges after having a Coke Zero earlier in the day - this is why
IF YOU COME FROM A PLACE OF STRUGGLING WITH OVER EATING DO NOT DRINK ZERO CAL SODA because your cravings will be unbearable
This is based on tons and tons of research, non-nutritive sweeteners have actually been linked to weight gain, not because of calories, but because of insulin.
If you are really wanting to drink them, I suggest doing it just before you eat a low cal meal - don’t do it while fasting. This change might do wonders for your ability to function <3
Please stay safe my angels, do what you feel works for you in the end, I just thought I’d share some real stuff for a second :)

Tyrian: (Holding up a hostage)
Qrow: Okay, easy! Easy! Just let these people go!
Tyrian: To end this hell and set them free, you must answer a riddle for me~!
Qrow: God dammit, I forgot how he rhymes.
Tyrian: The subject matter is mine to choose, answer wrong and their lives they'll lose~!
Qrow: Yeah, I know how these riddles work.
Tyrian: A killing blow is what I shall deliver, then I'll eat their hearts, pancreas and livers~!
Tyrian: Then I'll eat their brains, and their bones, and their eyes. Then their stomachs, and spleens, and toes.
Qrow: Okay, you're not even rhyming now! Just ask your fucking riddle!
Tyrian: Well, you keep cutting me off!
Qrow: I am not cutting you off!
Tyrian: Yes, you are! You're doing it now!
Qrow: ASK YOUR FUCKING RIDDLE OR YOU DIE! FUCK!
Tyrian: (Reading off a card) "Answer right, it's you they'll thank, the best Schneatles album is blank." What's the best Schneatles album?
Qrow: THAT'S WHAT THIS LED TO?! THAT'S NOT A FUCKING RIDDLE!
Tyrian: YES, IT IS!
Qrow: NO, IT'S- Ugh... Fuck it. Okay, what do we think? What's the best Schneatles album?
Ruby: Well, I really like the one they did with Circus Snow-Ley.
Qrow: Ruby. Shut. The fuck. Up. Oz, what do you think? Is it Magnum?
Ozpin: I believe so, yes.
Qrow: Okay, good. Glad something is going right. We're gonna go with Magnum.
Tyrian: Yeah? Gonna go with Magnum? Good, good, yeah, no, that's wrong. The correct answer is Joy, the album cover for Circus Snow-Ley!
Ruby: Yay~!
Ozpin: It is a good one.
Qrow: THAT'S NOT A SCHNEATLES ALBUM! THAT'S A SOUNDTRACK TO A CIRCUS!
Tyrian: Well, guess what, bird-boy; my riddle, MY RULES.

The ableism that some type 1s suffer is astonishing. Here are some things I had to endure in the last months:
- I tweeted a picture of my carry-on for a 2-week trip (which cost 25€ per flight) filled only with my diabetes essentials, and tagged the so-called "low-cost" airlines, saying that for some of us, "traveling light" is impossible (I said, and I quote "am I supposed to leave my pancreas home?"), and that we have to spend more money because we have an illness. They replied that they had different luggage options for different needs (which, WTF? that's not even an answer).
- A friend of mine from the States replied to my complaints that I couldn't find a PhD position in any of my desired countries (all of them with universal healthcare) by saying "well, they'd kill for someone like you in the US!". Yes, and I'd die because only my CGM is 60€ for 2 weeks, I use more than 80€ in insulin a month, and these are European prices. I know from various sources that you either hit the jackpot of health insurances, or you can't manage your diabetes properly in the US. And I doubt universities offer those. So, hard pass.
- During a trip to my brother's girlfriend's town, my CGM didn't work on the first day, and then my insulin pump stopped working on the second day and I went into ketoacidosis (bad enough that I couldn't eat, and I drank a lot, but not bad enough that I went into shock or anything). When I said I needed to return to the house urgently, the stupid-ass kid acted as if I was doing it on purpose to ruin her day. Then her dad would try and make me eat stuff, and when I said I couldn't eat because I'd just had a ketonic incident and I didn't feel well, they went "oh, diabetes sounds just awful, I couldn't live like that". Like, yeah, that's REALLY helpful
- That one idiot from airport security who mimicked a heroin injection when I said I had insulin pens in my carry-on bag
- The times I've had to endure comments about my "phone dependency", even though I've explained that it's the device I use to monitor my glucose levels
- Some people who've commented my eating habits (first proteins, then carbs), which were recommended by a nurse when I was 2 because fast-working insulin wasn't a thing yet and that way they could administer insulin and let me start eating before the carbs started doing their thing, and it's really fucking hard breaking a habit you've had for 23 years, even more if your doctor says it's a logical way of handling things, saying "oh, cute, my toddler nephew/daughter/grand-daughter also eats like that!"
- And, to me, the one that stings a little, but all the time, the incessant comments "I couldn't do that" or "you're so brave for enduring that" or "see, how's that making your life easier?" (when one of the devices malfunctions for a moment or something). Like, I get that some of these might sound encouraging, or that you think you sound supportive, but I spend most of the time trying to figure out what the fuck is causing a high or a low, or counting carbs, or calculating the times before I go jogging so I can work out but not have a hypo in the middle of it. I've had to quit swimming, a sport I genuinely love, every time I've restarted because no matter how many professionals have tried, there is no way of avoiding the hypo that inevitably comes a few hours after that. Those comments saying I'm brave and shit are not encouraging, because I have no other choice than to do this, and I would literally do anything to be able to stop doing this. This illness is exhausting, physically and mentally. There's no second of the day when you can take a break from it, so people saying that they couldn't do that or that I'm brave just sound like condescending pricks, if you ask me.
And that's it. My little rant. I hate diabetes.

Diabetic!Reader Headcanons
Tumblr media
♡ Characters: Demon Brothers, Diavolo, Barbatos, Luke, Simeon, Solomon
♡ Warnings: gn!reader, mentions of alcohol, blood, dieting for health, needles, and other medical supplies, not proof read
♡ A/N: These headcanons were written with type-1 in mind, but I think this still can be read with type-2 as well. 🙂 I think Asmodeus’s section is the only one that has an part very specific to type-1, but that’s about it?? I think? Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. 😊 (EDIT: This has been sitting in my drafts for months so I’m just going to go ahead and post it. lol)
♡ Part 1 ♡ Part 2
Tumblr media
♕ LUCIFER
Demon mom #1.
Lucifer is the first of the brothers to know about your condition, of course. It was mentioned in your student application.
He’s the one to go and get MC’s insulin, test strips, and other various things they might need.
If you use an insulin pump and it makes some sort of noise, even when in public, all of his attention will go to you and wait for your reaction. Whether it's no reaction at all, one of frustration, or a small little “oh” from your lips, he acts accordingly.
If You don't use an insulin pump, he keeps a close eye on you when he sees you pull out your testing materials and he looks for similar reactions to the little digits on the testing device.
He doesn’t like watching you prick yourself, but he knows it comes with the territory, so he tries his best to be supportive when you test, switch out your insulin pump, injecting insulin, or any scenario that requires something pointy pricking your skin.
When you are feeling frustrated about your condition, Lucifer often kisses your calloused fingers tips, listening patiently to your frustrations. Comforting you where he can.
He’s in charge of knowing where your glucagon pen is. He was hesitant to let you teach Belphegor how to use it originally, along with the other brothers.
♕ MAMMON
He is the second, amongst the brothers, to know. He doesn’t quite understand what being diabetic means, so you definitely would have to teach him.
He is a little dramatic about it after learning everything about being diabetic. Definitely freaks out the first few times, very early on, when he sees you eating something with a higher amount of carbohydrates. After being told a few times how your body deals with the carbs and how they can still eat stuff such as sweets, he calms down some. He still worries a lot though. Maybe because Lucifer would kill him if he let anything happen to you at first, but it quickly becomes a genuine concern of his.
Often carries snacks that provide a quick source of carbs for when you have lows in public. Mammon almost always carries hard candies because of you.
Mammon gets into the habit of checking food labels after spending some time with you. He’s amazed by how high the carbs are for a lot of sweets.
♕ LEVIATHAN
Before he ever knew you, Levi learned a lot about diabetes from an anime he watched once called “Oh No, My Pancreas!”
He is quick to adjust to your lifestyle, often reminding you to check your blood sugar when he notices a shift in your behavior.
While he doesn’t necessarily keep track of his health, he is on top of yours. Humans are more fragile than demons after all and he doesn’t want his Henry to pass away prematurely from not taking care of yourself.
Once you two are more acquainted, and you spend more of your time in his room, he dedicates a section of his room to just your stuff. A mini-fridge with some insulin, food, and drinks. On top of the mini-fridge is everything you could possibly need. Hundreds of test strips, alcohol wipes, an extra glucose monitor, lancet… Literally anything.
Definitely is one of the last of the brothers to be willing to help you with changing your pump, if you have one. It isn’t because he’s afraid of needles or blood, but he’s just scared of messing up and overall is just worried about hurting you. He will help with enough convincing. Please be gentle if he messes up.
♕ SATAN
Satan is quick to start reading up on diabetes after some time spent with you.
He’s the go-to when any of the brothers have questions in regards to diabetes but can’t or don’t want to ask you for some reason. He is almost as knowledgeable as you by the end of your first year at RAD just because of how much he has had to look up the subject and answer questions regarding it.
He buys you one of those emergency bracelets with your condition engraved into the shiny metal so if you ever got separated and needed medical attention, a stranger could know what they were working with.
He’s like Lucifer, always paying close attention when you are dealing with your diabetic needs, but he’s more subtle about it. Not much more subtle, but he’s trying to let you feel independent.
♕ ASMODEUS
Asmodeus is very familiar with counting carbs due to his various diets. He’s the first, amongst the brothers, to know what to make for you when you first arrive in the Devildom.
An common topic that came up early on was recipes. Asmodeus has so many low-carb human world recipes because of how often you both talk about food.
He joins you if you decide to start working to help keep your blood sugar low. Neither of you necessarily needed to do anything intensive, like Beelzebub’s workouts, so you did light workouts while Beel did his.
He buys you a bunch of cute organizers to put your supplies in because the ugly packaging just irked him every time he visited your room.
While he doesn’t quite understand everything, he sometimes is the first to pick up on if you are starting to have low or high blood sugar based on your actions.
Buys you a fashionable but useful little bag to store their snacks in. Also got a matching bag for himself, of course.
♕ BEELZEBUB & BELPHEGOR
I had a hard time writing for them individually, so I decide to just combine them.
Beelzebub is sad when he learns about your condition. Having to restrain how and when you eat? His worst nightmare.
Beel asks you every possible question he could think of about your diabetes and what he could do to support you. He’s very respectful of your needs.
Beel asks you to accompany him the first few times it's his turn to make dinner and he needs to go get groceries. He lets you lead him around the store, showing him the best things for you to eat. He later tells Belphegor about everything he learned about your needs (post-lesson 16).
For Belphegor, seeing you eat with his brothers for the first time caught him off guard. Especially since you were sat next to Beelzebub who was consuming everything in sight.
Already used to helping Beelzebub with his needs, Belphegor is quick to adjust to your own needs. He keeps a stash of food around for both Beelzebub and you just in case. Of course, Beel always shares his snacks with you.
Beelzebub joins you if you decide to start working out to help keep your blood sugar down. He’s very happy to have someone to always work out with. It’s just an added bonus that it’s you. Belphegor will sometimes join in during your workouts, but most of the time he’ll just sit on the sidelines and watch you both.
Belphegor silently watches Beel and you snack on whatever your favorite low-carb food is throughout the day. Most of the time, it’s something like pickles, and he gets so much joy from watching you both eat with smiles on your faces.
♕ DIAVOLO
First three of the people to know. Probably the last between himself, Lucifer, and Barbatos.
He is very intrigued when he first learns about your diabetes. It’s brought up in one of the first conversations you two have alone.
He is quick to get more low-carb options to the RAD cafeteria, often asking you for suggestions on how the selection can be improved.
When he holds parties where you are invited, he makes sure to offer plenty of other non-alcoholic drinks, especially for you. (Luke too. xD) Nobody wants your blood sugar going down to a dangerous level.
Any teachers who have a problem with you snacking during class due to your low blood sugar is going to have an very long conversation with him.
♕ BARBATOS
Demon mom #2.
Barbatos was probably the first to know about your condition. If not the first, he was among the first group of people to know.
Before Diavolo even has the chance to ask, Barbatos already starts to arrange for low-carb options to be available in the RAD cafeteria.
He starts learning low-carb dishes for when you visit the Lord’s castle. He learns so many that you like that you start to come to the castle often just to learn how to make the dishes Barbatos serves.
Has been asked to join Luke over at the House of Lamentations to cook and bake for you so many times. It’s happened often enough that the brothers get concerned when it’s been a while and they haven’t seen the demon butler and his little angel apprentice in their kitchen recently.
♕ LUKE
Worried little brother mode activated.
Much like Barbatos, Luke learns how to bake and cook various low-carb options for you.
It takes him a while to fully understand what being diabetic means, but he eventually gets it.
He worries so much about you, especially when you are visibly not feeling well.
He’s quick to offer his assistance where ever possible, even if that means just going to find someone else to help. When the occasion rises and he can’t help, he runs to Simeon, Solomon, or Barbatos for help, as he trusts them the most to help you. If he runs into Satan before any of them, he will hesitantly ask him for help instead.
He enjoys having you in the kitchen even more than Barbatos or Simeon, on occasion, just because you are always able to show him new recipes.
♕ SIMEON
Angel mom.
A single mom who works two jobs, who loves her kids and never stops, with gentle hands and a heart of a fighter-
Simeon assists Luke in finding new recipes he can make for you. He is quick to remind the young angel on the occasion when he forgets you can’t have too much of a certain type of food due to its high amount of carbs.
When Luke comes running to him, a panicked expression on his face, he always asks if something is wrong with you. More times than not, it’s about you. Honestly, doesn’t even have to be related to diabetes for this to happen.
He sneaks you snacks during your shared class. Without fail. Every single day.
While he does have his moments with being a little reactive to your diabetes, he is the most laid back about it. He knows you are overall responsible, in your own needs and those around you. He also trusts Lucifer and his brothers to pick up where you may fail. He has seen them all study you periodically throughout the day, taking note of any changes, and stepping in when needed. He trusts that your health won’t slip anytime soon so he generally only steps in when needed. Maybe the occasional reminder when it’s just you two, but that’s it.
Probably got a glucagon pen to keep at Purgatory Hall.
♕ SOLOMON
You use your diabetes as a way to get out of many of Solomon’s disastrous dishes. I refuse to believe otherwise.
You have had to eat some of his more questionable food though when in a pinch because your blood sugar dropped and there were no other choices.
Solomon though.
He helps you keep on top of your diabetes. You haven’t checked in a while, he can’t recall the last time you ate, and you are getting cranky or really fatigued? He’s going to ask you to check for him. More times than not, your blood sugar isn’t where it should be. Have some food.
You are feeling sick? He’s going to ask when was the last time you tested and he’ll have an sad but knowing smile when it turns out your sugar is extremely high or extremely low.
If there is some magic that helps with steadying blood sugar, he’ll look more into it and if it would be useful for you. He brings it up to you if it would help. If you are interested, he’ll gladly teach you how to use it. If there isn’t already such a spell or potion then he’ll start doing research to make one after some time spent with you.

Could you share some less common illnesses to use? The prompts keep making me think of cold/flu, which is great, but I don't want to write it all about that. I try to use different things, but I'm stuck in a rut, and I like variety in the sickfics I read and write. My main go-to is chicken pox, and I want to use mumps and meningitis at some point.
We can definitely see how many of the prompts could be interpreted as cold or flu related. And we certainly understand your desire to try something new!
But we also feel like the 'more cake' analogy is worth repeating. There are so many symptoms, scenarios, treatments, home remedies and 'old wives tales' that there is an endless supply of new ways to reinvent any trope! And one great fic definitely deserves another... and another... and another...
That being said, we've put together a list of illnesses/additional symptoms. How you can potentially work them into the various prompts is up to you! But goodness knows, any of them could lead to a few sleepless nights (Prompt 27) Anyway, we hope this helps!!
Acute Pancreatitis is the prolonged  inflammation of the pancreas. Acute Pancreatitis usually appears suddenly and lasts for several days. Although some people may develop chronic pancreatitis, which can last for years. Causes include but are not limited to, infection, alcoholism, certain medications, gallstones, trauma and obesity. Treatment may involve a change in diet, IV fluids, pain medication or in some cases surgery to remove bile duct blockages, the gallbladder or infected pancreatic tissue.
Symptoms include: Upper abdominal pain, abdominal pain that radiates to the back, abdominal tenderness, fever, rapid pulse, nausea and vomiting.
Norovirus is one of the most common causes of vomiting and diarrhea.  In some places it's also referred to as the 'winter vomiting bug' because it's more common in winter, although you can catch it at any time of the year. It usually takes a few days to recover.
Oral Thrush or Oral Candidosis is a fungal (Yeast) infection of the mouth. It isn't contagious and can be treated fairly successfully with antifungal medications. It can be caused by the use of certain antibiotics, poor oral hygiene, smoking or the use of steroid inhalers used for asthma.
Symptoms include: White or red patches inside the mouth, lose of taste, general redness in the mouth and throat, pain and burning within the mouth that can sometimes make eating and drinking difficult. If let untreated, Oral Thrush can become much more serious.
Cellulitis is an infection within  the deeper layers of the skin. It can often be treated with antibiotics. Although more problematic cases can lead to hospitalization. If it’s not retreated properly it can become extremely serious. Cellulitis is usually caused by a bacterial infection that enters the skin via a cut or scrape.
Symptoms include: The affected skin suddenly becomes red, hot swollen and sore. More severe cases can be accompanied or preceded by a high fever, full body tremors, nausea and vomiting, dizziness and confusion.
Urinary tract infections or UTIs  are common and affect the bladder, the kidneys and/or  the tubes that connect  them. They can have varying levels of pain and discomfort depending on the severity. They generally heal within a few days and are often treated with antibiotics. UTIs are usually caused by bacteria entering the urinary tract., generally from the urethra. A few of the causes could be dehydration, the use of scented hygiene products and/or not regularly and fully emptying the bladder.
Symptoms include: Pain or discomfort during urination, having sudden or frequent urges to urinate,  lower abdominal pain or discomfort and a general feeling of achiness. More severe symptoms can occur when the kidneys are involved. Thos symptoms include back pain, fever, chills, confusion and restlessness. It is worth noting that while UTIs can affect anyone they are most common in women.
Vertigo isn’t an illness so much as it’s  a symptom, often associated with migraines and inner ear infections. Vertigo can be described as the sensation that you, or your environment are moving or spinning. The feeling can be barely noticeable or extremely intense and can last anywhere from a few seconds to several days.
Shingles is an infection of a nerve and the surrounding skin. Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes Chicken pox. The main symptom of shingles is prolonged and virtually untreatable pain along with a rash that develops into itchy blisters. New blisters may appear for up to a week, but will become yellowish in color, flatten and dry out within a few days. Blisters can lead to scarring.
Other symptoms include: headache, burning, tingling, numbness or itchiness of the skin in the affected area, feeling generally unwell and/or fever.
Lyme Disease is a bacterial infection that is  spread to humans by infected ticks. Lyme Disease can range from mild to severe depending on how quickly the symptoms are recognized and treatment begins. Although symptoms may not appear for up to thirty days post bite.Antibiotics are the most common treatment.
Symptoms include, most prominently a ‘bulls-eye’ shaped rash around the bite area that may increase in size over time. Some people will develop a rash over their entire body. One in three people affected by Lyme Disease will also have flu-like symptoms such as, fever, aches and pains, a stiff neck and fatigue. If left untreated, symptoms can progress to include swelling and pain in the joins, numbness in the limbs, lasp in memory, and heart issues.
Acute Cholecystitis is when there is swelling and inflammation in the gallbladder. This is potentially serious and usually needs to be treated in hospital. Treatment includes fasting, intravenous fluids and pain management. The doctor may recommend the removal of the gallbladder to prevent future attacks.
Symptoms include: Most prominently, a sharp pain in the lower right side of the abdomen that spreads towards the shoulder. The affected part of the abdomen is usually sore to the touch, and does not fade over time. Deep breathing may  increase the pain. Other symptoms may include fever, sweating, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting and  yellowing of the skin and/or whites of the eyes (jaundice)
Catarrh is also a symptom rather than an illness. Catarrh is  the build-up of mucus in an airway or other cavity within the body. Generally the back of the nose, throat or sinus. It’s usually temporary and is associated with colds, allergies and sinus polyps.  It usually only last a few days but in some situations can become chronic and hard to treat. Treatments include avoiding allergens, taking sips of cold water, the use of a  humidifier, saline nasal rinses, and over the counter decongestants.
Associated symptoms include: coughing, runny nose, stuffy nose, the feeling of mucus in the back of the throat, the need to constantly clear your throat, headache or facial pain, a cracking sensation in the ears accompanied by some temporary hearing loss (This could also lead into an ear infection, particularly in small children)
Mumps is a contagious viral infection that used to be common in children (but could also affect adults)  before the introduction of the MMR vaccine.
symptoms include: Most prominently, painful swelling around the side of the face (The parotid glands) along with headaches, joint pain and a high temperature, which may develop a few days before the swelling occurs.
We found this website to be very helpful when compiling the list above. It not only lists common illnesses but additional symptoms as well.

I've been waffling on making this post for a while now, but I'm at my wits end. (even if I'm currently on an upswing) . So please read through and reblog to help each others.
Hi - my name is Grim(oire) and I'm your usual Tumblr user: Queer, neurodivergent, nearing 30, broke as all hell, and disabled for the cherry right on top.🍒
And I'm drowning.
Now, I'm not going to recall everything that has ever happened to me in an effort to NOT over-explain, but life has been rough. Real goddamn rough. Like - since childhood, rough. Which only makes recent events worse.
My pancreas failed a few years back, effectively leaving me as an insulin-dependant T1 diabetic. One that has no idea how damaged things are as it stands because I went months without insulin. This is already on top of a history of being very frail and sickly, but whatever - it can be dealt with right?
Then let's add on lasting new trauma from former roommates who proclaimed that we (partner and I) were demons trying to kill him and thus we needed to die. Eh - people have had waaay worse living situations. Who cares if it stacks on top of PTSD already there from my childhood and an Ex?
Let's sprinkle in my legal guardians (grandparents who raised me) dying for some pizazz on the brainmeats too.
Then there are the moving costs of escaping a state that wants both me and my partner quiet or dead. A financial strain that lingers to this day. Well - I can just get and keep a job right?
You would fucking think.
Between my mental health and physical health, I've never been able to keep a regular job for more than a year, and we all know how wonderfully easy it is to get on disability.
All this to say: I'm stressed. I'm so fucking stressed that I want to claw my way into my own chest to get the feeling to just go away for more than a few hours at a time. I now have a psych and a new diagnosis of bipolar type 1 - which I mean, yaay? Steps forward to help but what I'm the fuck am I supposed to do in the meanwhile?
Well - I want to sew. I want to start up an online boutique where I sell the clothes to order and custom if people need. Along with selling witchy things on the side, this has been a dream of mine for years now.
So time to get to the point.
I need monetary help to be able to live as well as to be able to start up saving for the shop.
Basic bones: I would need a bolt of muslin and an adjustable dress form to start mockups. This alone is about $200.
I also.... Would like to be able to eat and live too lmao. My partner can only shoulder so much financial burden and it's killing him. So anything sent for groceries and rent is appreciated (especially as I wait for SNAP to get back to me.)
Please, please, please feel free to DM for more info. The CA is: 💲GrimoireR
Thank you. It's.. Really hard to this but I am drowning and out of work.
