*Sigh*
I did it. I caved and made a tolkien blog. In 2024.
I’m mostly just going to be here to reblog lotr/the hobbit content, blog my rewatches, and generally participate in fandom without being able to offer anyone anything because I don’t make gifs! I may occasionally post fics here and cross post them on ao3, where I am as amidtheglitz. I’m also about to read the books for the first time (I know, I know) and would love to talk to people about them!
You’re welcome to send me a message any time, I’m friendly!

Every time I post about dicks somebody in the notes remarks that the topic at hand reminds them of something to do with Gollum from Lord of the Rings. Normally I'd assume it was a bit, but it's a different person each time, so I can only surmise that there must be some underground Gollum dick appreciation community on Tumblr with which I am regrettably unacquainted.

Welcome to LOTR20! A blog to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the LOTR films.
The 20th anniversary of The Return of the King is coming up soon (17 December), and it'll be a great opportunity to celebrate the amazing film trilogy. The current plan is to have a week of prompts (11-17th Dec) for original creations, ending on the anniversary itself to celebrate ROTK and the film trilogy as a whole.
More information to follow soon! Updates at @lotr20 ✨

Elladan and Elrohir challenged Legolas to 1 rock climbing competition, and have since resolved to never do that again.
Have you ever seen how fast professional, competitive, rock climbers race up those rock walls? Legolas climbs like that.
It’s largely due to the fact that silvans clamber and sprint through the tree branches of their forests and are very used to launching themselves up into trees from the ground floor. So they have a lot of upper body strength and agility.
Meanwhile, while the noldo and sinda elves are no slauches, it’s simply not their area of expertise as they usually fight and move on the ground floor.
So yea, Legolas is an absolute spider moneky and easily destroyed the twins in a rock climbing competition.
It should be noted that legolas absolutely will climb all over Rivendell, much to everyone’s awe and confusion bc how tf did he get there???
Legolas also taught areen the basics.
The first time arwen managed to climb her way up to the roof of a building from the outside, everyone almost had a heart attack, except for celebrian and legolas, who were to busy laughing.

Tolkien Blog Recs: Follow the Rebloggers!
I've been asked for Tolkien blog recs a few times now (in my short Tumblr life), and I would like to explain my personal strategy for getting the best and most comprehensive Tolkien content on my blogs:
FIND, FOLLOW, and BEFRIEND FANDOM REBLOGGERS.
Tolkien artists/writers/creators are amazing of course, and you should follow and support your favorites. However, Rebloggers are fandom connoisseurs that essentially do the important work of finding and gathering the content you want from various creators. They keep posts alive and circulating! I believe they are a crucial part of the fandom that remains underappreciated. (Many of them are or used to be creators themselves, but are just more active as rebloggers now.)
Rebloggers are often also great at supporting and engaging with other bloggers, so they are wonderful to have as Mutuals.
Below are some of the most consistently active and Tolkien-centered blogs I have the privilege of being Mutuals with. I might have missed a few, but these are great ones to start with:
@asianbutnotjapanese
@hobbitwrangler
@brain-empty-just-vibes
@talesfuzzy
@mithrilandvilya
@thranduilseyebrows
@hyperlexia-1
@urban-trek-thru-middle-earth
@stormchaser819
@sylvanprincess
@sleepyamygdala
@aduialel
@coopsgirl
@evenstaredits
@elithilanor
Thank you to the below Anons who asked me for my recs! <3 I'm sorry it took me so long to respond, but blog recs are difficult for me to make. I hope this helps you find the content you want!

The Extremely Serious and Scientific Legolas Fandom Hair Colour Poll:
What colour hair do you picture in your head for your personal mental image of Legolas of the Woodland Realm? (Not necessarily which one you think is more or less "canonical"; rather just what you see in your head when you're reading something.)
Ideally, you can also share when and how you were first exposed to Lord of the Rings in the tags or reblogs, and what you think most influenced your mental image.
No I'm not procrastinating from writing stuff, go away.
