Okay, but what happened to the concept of two men being best friends & platonic soulmates, willing to sacrifice their career or their own happiness or even their life for the sake of the other? Out of strong loyalty and the kind of love the Ancient Greeks termed philia (as in Philidelphia, the City of Brotherly Love). I've experienced that kind of love with several female best friends (at different stages in my life) - and at no point did either of us yearn for some kind of sexual relationship.
Is online culture telling me that males are incapable of the same, by interpreting male friendships in media (including in well-known pieces of literature) as 'of course they want to have sex with each other!'? I can't accept that premise. My own brother has been best friends with the same dude for 25 years (since first grade) and they refer to themselves as 'brothers from another mother'. I'm not anti slash ship or real world m/m romantic love, but sometimes...sometimes I just get so tired being told 'OF COURSE THEY'RE DOING IT!!!'.

Thank you, @wonkyelk, for the tag :)
How many works do you have on AO3?
289.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
764 464.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Right now mostly SGA, but other fandoms I've written for in the last year or so include Firefly, SG1, The Old Guard, some tiny/non-existent fandom stuff (Echoes, Who is Erin Carter, etc), some original fiction. Various one-offs (Hot Fuzz, ST:PIC).
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The Perfect Bride (SGA)
A Uniquely Dangerous Opportunity (SGA/The Old Guard)
Season's Greetings (SGA)
How to Succeed at Corporate Sabotage in Five and a Half Easy Steps (SGA) [note - I love this title so much]
In the Wind (SGA/The Old Guard)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I dooooooo! I love comments, they make me so happy, so I want to make sure the commenter knows that. And sometimes there's a nice chat that happens too, so that's exciting!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
For SGA, it's Failsafe (still one of my favourite things I've ever written). For Firefly, I think it's Assessment, at least, based on the comments I got when I first posted it to...oh gosh, I think it was to a listserv and then the Firefly's Glow old archive. For SG1, it's Grey Skies, Ashen Ground (I also love this fic so much).
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I don't know. I do write a lot of pretty happy endings, and a lot of humour, so it's hard to say.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Generally, no. I do remember getting a bit of snark about a few things I've written over the years, but that was way back pre-LJ.
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I dooooooooo. I think I write a fair amount of E-rated stuff (PWPs and otherwise). What kind - I guess mostly m/m. My most common smut-related tags are blow jobs, dubious consent, and getting together. So I guess I write a lot of dubious consent oral sex romance or something :')
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Sometimes! Craziest one is probably Travel Light (SGA/The Littlest Hobo) (we need more dogs in Stargate, okay??) (yes, this is a niche fic with a small audience, but it is deeply hilarious to me). Or maybe Village of the Y-arrrggg (Anna and the Apocalypse/Hot Fuzz). I love both of these fics so much.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I have no idea!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don't think so.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Heck yes, I have! Quite a bit over the years, and more recently a couple with @wonkyelk and four or five with @chaos-monkeyy. It is so fun!!!!
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
I tend to prefer characters over ships (I will ship that favourite character will alllllllll kinds of people), but probably if I had to pick, I'd say Jayne/Simon (Firefly), just because I think they're the most frequent ship I've written.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I don't know, really. I tend to forget about my WIPs and then find them again later and remember.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I write humour pretty well! And I think I'm pretty good at writing porn. Maybe. I don't know. I can and will make train puns (shock, gasp, surprise).
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I can't sustain long stories. Most of my stuff falls in the 2000-5000 range, and the longest thing I ever wrote was just shy of 10 000 words. I just don't have the capacity to write long stuff. Also, if I don't get most of a fic down in a sitting or two, I'm unlikely to ever finish it.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I'm pretty sure I've never done this. Can't say I have any profound thoughts on it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
OZ.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
This one is too hard. And whoops, it turns out I've already mentioned a bunch of stuff I like. I guess I also really like the way Pieces Tossed Aside (Firefly) worked out (I had to think about a few different things for that one), and also, Of winsome mood and disposition (SGA) (it made me laugh so much to write this).
no pressure tagging, if you're into it: @chaniis-atlantis, @cuillere, @cordeliaperry, @chaos-monkeyy, @colonelshepparrrrd, @dedkake, @sparrowsarus

January Posting Meme
January 2 - What was the first vid you made? What drew you to vid it, do you still follow the fandom, etc. -@colls
Happy birthday colls!
Vid nostalgia time, thank you for this prompt.
My very first vid - Ameno - 2007. Stargate Atlantis.
youtube
I made my first vid in 2007 with iMovie. Stargate Atlantis, an ensemble vid about the Ancients. It’s titled “Ameno” by eRa and has chanty vocals that made me think of the Ancients/Lanteans in the Pegasus Galaxy. We were about… what 3 seasons into SGA at that time? Stargate SG-1 was my first internet fandom and SGA fandom in its heyday was certainly an Experience so I was in deep. I voraciously read all the fic back then, participated in the communities, wrote some crossover SGA/SG1 fic here and there. So once I started playing around with iMovie and got an external hard drive it seemed pretty natural for me to try and make a Stargate Atlantis vid.
Several years prior I remember my friend thelinz had sent me a bunch of SG-1 fanvids on CD-ROM that I became obsessed with. I knew I wanted to make Stargate vids. Of course I just had to go and use a song without discernible lyrics and try to tell a story about the Ancients/Lanteans. A people who were almost always featured subtextually and mostly as their tech being a macguffin of sorts for the protagonists to deal with. In my head a Narrative made a lot more sense while I was making it but I was still left rather unsatisfied by the end. But I am very proud of it—especially as a first vid. It’s very interesting to see how my eye for kinetic movement works with the musicality of the song as my first vid. And how I refined that over the years.
As for still following the fandom? It’s in my bones, it’s always there. So many of my fandom friends and I started there. Sometimes I go back and reread old SGA flashfic entries.
I do follow a few Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis tags on tumblr which has been an interesting time observing that. Mostly on account of folks remarking on Jack and Daniel’s ages (they are too Old). Or how some people have said that Rodney McKay would have Done Numbers on tumblr if the show was airing now and that people should really watch SGA for him. Which just is, you know. Makes me want to pull out that Aslan meme “I was there” old magics etc, since Rodney McKay Was Everywhere, fanon ran with wild abandon and then some while others did slow laps in their own slash and rare-pair niches. But this is part of growing older in fandom, you were there for that history (and all the various wank, which is what it was called and not Discourse).
Anyway. I was never quite satisfied with Ameno. But I went on to make dozen more vids after it with iMovie until I got a Final Cut Edit license. And I came across a song during a summer job and realized the vibe+lyrics…that song was the Ancient Vid I was trying to make the first time around but didn’t manage. And listening to the song I realized I didn’t have the vidding skills yet to pull it together. Very overwhelmed by the idea. I spent 5 years listening and mentally putting it together in my head while casually rewatching here and there. Which is how I managed to make High Voltage - one of the vids I’m most proud of for narrative, structural and thematic reasons.
youtube
High Voltage which someone actually made a Fanlore entry about it!
High Voltage which was selected at Vividcon 2011 for In Depth Vid Review where people spent a good chunk of time discussing it in an in-person group setting. Folks who had never seen Stargate Atlantis or SG-1 or Stargate Universe even said they were very impressed and intrigued with the vid because it looked like nothing they’ve ever seen from Stargate vids before. And those who knew the shows inside and out, who knew the fic, who had meta discussions about it every week, everyone there when another surface-level, shoddily executed storyline rolled out. They saw my vid, too, they saw it and got it. It was really, really incredible experience to get that kind of feedback and realize that so many picked up what I was laying down.
Beatrice Otter wrote a lovely fancake rec for it in 2022 — 11 years after it premiered! A rec I have screencapped and saved in my happy folder to look at when I’m feeling down.
I elaborated a little more about my vidding process and reception of the vid on tumblr
So Ameno is my very first vid that I was VERY proud of but still wanted to go and “do over”/“do again” because it didn’t feel quite right. That foundation and growth lead to High Voltage. :)
I highly recommend anyone who wants to make a fix-it to an old fanwork of theirs to do go ahead and do it and see how it feels. You never know where it might lead.
January Posting Meme - claim a date! Send me any kind of prompt!

20 questions for fic writers
approximately twenty years late for these twenty questions, but i'm here now so that counts rights? thank you to @aidaronan for the tag!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 40
2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 711,322
3. What fandoms do you write for? currently stranger things, but i've got star wars (prequels + rebels) w.i.p.s in the google docs that i'd still love to see the light of day
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? steddie overtook my oldest fics, so most remarkable thing is my number one, with two other fics in the same universe behind it (frozen with joy and the world throws its light), followed by all the missing girls and brutalist masterpieces
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? i try to respond to all of them because i'm trying to be more outgoing in fandom spaces; i also feel very humbled + touched by the response to my steddie stories so i try to stay engaged there when i can
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? i don't think anything is particularly angsty from stranger things -- i try to lean into optimism and hopeful endings when i can, even if something tragic happens with the story; so i would have to say the untitled companion kallus au out of rebels fandom, since part two ends on a bit of a downer.
(though various stories out of the eating in the underworld series probably qualify, especially when you're reading them chronologically...)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? i like to think the whole of most remarkable thing, and other b-sides and rarities as the happiest, i would say? mainly because the idea of steve + eddie, alive in 2023 and thriving with their family, careers, and marriage is very dear to me.
8. Do you get hate on fics? not really
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? yes; allow me to be pretentious and say that it's typically serving a plot purpose, and often tender, sometimes silly, sometimes spicy
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? i like a good fusion, mainly; i think the only crossover i've written + published is an ancient avengers and battlestar galactica fic
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? not to my knowledge
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? yes! remarkable has french + spanish translations, and crozen with joy also has a french translation
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? no; i'm a solitary creature by nature, and also anxious to a fault so i've never felt it was something i'd be able to do + do right by my co-author.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? i love steddie but i gotta be honest here on tumblr dot com: kalluzeb
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? i pray every day that i'll finish all my wips; but my greatest fear is that i'll never conclude the star wars f+f au, even though the google doc is halfway written
16. What are your writing strengths? once again imma be a little pretentious and say crafting the story itself; i think i'm a really solid plotter + have good outlines that allow me to tell the story i want to tell
17. What are your writing weaknesses? probably being too wordy, and having a hard time trimming + cutting things; i have a whole google doc devoted to passages i've loved that i've excised from stories but just couldn't get rid of entirely -- i'm definitely a director's cut bitch
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? i've encorporated mando'a into a handful of star wars stories, and used a few russian terms of endearment for at me too someone is looking (rebels) -- so i think if it serves a purpose to the story, you gotta do it.
19. First fandom you wrote for? star trek, i think?? maybe stargate: sg1??
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? i love all of my children equally but differently, but gun to my head? dogfish or the other hand knocking, because both were so interesting + challenging to write in very different ways
not tagging anyone because i'm so late to the game, but if you wanna play just say i called your name!!

Stargate SG-1: Daniel Jackson Wordount: 874 T(W): None that I can think of Request: Yes; Anon - "Hey there! I was wondering if there was anyway I could request a Daniel Jackson x reader where the reader is on their first mission with SG1 and Daniel is a ✨small✨ bit anxiety ridden due to the fact that he’s worried about reader and is also slightly overprotective. Thanks in advance lovely!" A/N: I hope this is what you were looking for! <3
You were in awe at Stargate Command. You knew that the place existed (at least as rumours), but you never imagined that you would be assigned to Cheyenne Mountain Complex, but here you were. You had been there for a few months now, mainly working on items and technology which other worlds had traded for. You hadn’t really had a chance to put your engineering skills to the test. Finally, after hinting that seeing the tech in working in it’s natural environment, you were being offered the opportunity to put your knowledge into the field with the SG-1 team. There were two reasons you were excited about this. 1) You were excited for the opportunity to work under Colonel O’Neill’s command, you had heard great things about the Colonel, and 2) you were getting to work with the initial team who re-started the Stargate programme. Both were amazing opportunities, even if you couldn’t tell anyone else about it.
You were prepped and ready to go, anxiously standing outside the main doors to the Gateroom with Major Carter, Dr Jackson, Teal’c and the Colonel. You were bouncing lightly back and forth between your two feet. Dr Jackson had noticed and gripped your hand tightly, you looked to him and smiled, he had a semi-forced smile which he returned to you. You could tell he was a bit nervous for you as you had never been off-world and he wasn’t 100% certain about your previous combat experience. Even if he was, you doubted it would have prevented him from being any less nervous about your first trip through the gate.
You had heard through the grapevine that the sweet archaeologist had a thing for you, but you didn’t tend to heed much notice of rumours. Sometimes being a female officer in any form of the military led to a lot of rumours, especially where male officers or contractors were concerned. You thought you had overheard him speaking with O’Neill regarding you the other day and the plans for you to join the team on their next away mission. You had assumed it was more to do with the fact that you were also a skilled linguist and he felt it unnecessary for another linguist to join the team. You then assumed he backed down once it was explained that you were being drafted into the team due to your engineering expertise as opposed to your linguistic expertise.
Once the gate had activated and you had braced yourself enough to step through it, with the encouragement of Dr Jackson. Once on the other side of the wormhole the Doctor appeared far more antsy than usual, especially for him. You thought you had caught him staring at you more often than you had recalled him ever doing it. You thought you had noticed him trying to subtly walk in front of you or move toward his sidearm more often when he was unable to walk in front of you. It was strange to see him acting this way. You weren’t too sure how to broach the situation, but it appeared that the others had also noticed the doctor’s unusual behaviour, Teal’c had tried, and failed, to subtly ask Daniel why he was appearing to be on edge, leading everyone else to look in Daniel’s direction and with expectant looks on their faces. Daniel made a very vague excuse about being cautious after the last couple of planets they had visited, the group seemed to disbelieve Daniel’s excuse and shook their heads walking on.
While at the village of the inhabitants of the planet you were visiting, you were introduced to various different techniques for using certain (rather common) energy sources that were potentially unheard of back on Earth and endeavoured, with Sam of course, to take as many   notes and pictures as you could to see if it was possible to replicate some of the structures back home. You had noticed that the times where you and Sam were checking separate machines and structures that Daniel seemed to hover around the areas and machines you were working, he claimed that it was due to the unusual linguistics and writing around the machines (he believed them to potentially be instruction manuals he could translate for you). If any of the planets native inhabitants approached you, Daniel would intercept them and try to figure out what they wanted, especially the ones he knew we had had no contact with from the ruling party of the village. Once they were deemed to not be a threat, he would let them through with whichever gifts or offerings they had for you and the team.  You had slowly begun to pick up parts of the native language and had overheard some of the village-folk speaking of you and Dr Jackson and the word “spouse” (or the closest match you could translate) being used in connection with you both. When you had told Daniel about it, thinking he would have found it equally amusing, you were amazed that he suddenly began blushing and refusing to make eye-contact with you or anyone else in the team. That was the moment you realised that the rumours surrounding his feelings for you were more than just rumours.

I saw you mention something about Stargate Atlantis RPF, is there some lore i am missing about this show, it doesn't seem popular enough for it. Quite new to fandom and never actively been in the Stargate one to know stuff
--
Did I say something about SGA RPF? I don't even remember. Usually, I bitch about it having been more popular among my friends than SG1. (I did like the monsterfucking fic though.)
I think the most recent time I mentioned it was to say that all the SGA BNF writers and their readers left SGA (not RPF) for Hockey RPF. That was in the context of talking about how normalized RPF is in various fandom communities or something.
SGA was a massive fic fandom of its day, but John/Rodney was what was popular, not RPF.

Stargate SG1 S1E10: Thor's Hammer
Thor's Hammer is a solid world building episode that leads to more good (the Asgard being greys) than bad (eventually human form replicators).
In retrospect making the only nice set of human gods that show up more than once in the series the most white people of the world's pantheons wasn't the best idea in the long run.
If I were to reboot Stargate today I'd make it very clear that the various alien factions cooped the already existing religions instead of being the direct inspirations and I'd have the balance of goa'uld to asgard (or whatever they end up being called) more even across world religions.
If I'm being honest they'd still probably be strongly ancient Egypt vs viking theme but that's because I'm a cheese lord, but there would also be more variety for both sides.
Also getting James Earl Jones as the voice of the first Unas was fucking awesome.

The fic question game! 2!
2. How did you get the idea to write this?
I’m not sure which fic to answer for, but Absolution came from those ‘so many plot holes in Mass Effect’ articles.
I thought ‘plot holes? What plot holes?’
*hold my beer* 🍺
…and Emrys and the crew of the Abby were born.
My team hoovers up any perceived plot holes in Mass Effect’s story, arriving either just before or just after Shepard, occasionally at the same time, but always ‘behind the scenes’. It was inspired by stories like Babylon 5’s ‘A View from the Gallery’ and SG1’s ‘The Other Guys’
I’m on chapter 17 of 28, I just can’t seem to stay motivated to finish it, which is frustrating. This fic has been hanging around far too long.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
The Darkest Heart, my Legacy of Kain fic, is a smutty enemies-to-lovers-to-murderous bastards story. I cover Raziel’s Sarafan years, how he meets and becomes infatuated with his prey, the ancient vampire Janos Audron.
It’s five chapters long and the first three are up. It’s been a lot of fun to write but I’m procrastinating, as usual. Probably because the end is canon compliant and… yeah. Devastating.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Meanwhile, I have one Starfield idea that just won’t let go. We have ship building in the game. And we work for one of the most famous of ship builders.
From time immemorial, humans have been obsessed with going as fast as possible, we race each other, on foot, on horseback and in the cockpit of various machines. Why then, do we have the Red Mile in Starfield, and we build ships, but don’t have anywhere to race them?
So yeah, a race fic. Teams from Constellation, the UC (Alex ‘Archangel’ Vong - I’m coming for you), the Freestar Collective, Ryujin, maybe House Va’ruun, or some independents, all racing the fastest ship they can build in a friendly competition sponsored by The Red Mile.
I’m not sure how well that idea would translate to writing, but I might try. Like Cora says, “Is there a way to go faster-than-light? And none of that gravdrive cheating!”

Coordinate Remote Viewing Stages I–VI
The following is a reproduction of content from "Coordinate Remote Viewing Stages I–VI and Beyond" (SG1 Project Officer, 1985, pp. 6–7), a declassified document (CIA-RDP96-00788R001000400001-7) released by the Central Intelligence Agency under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) on June 18, 1998.
Stage I Major Gestalt: In Stage I the viewer is trained to provide a quick-reaction response to the reading of geographic coordinates by the interviewer. The coordinates are expressed in degrees, minutes, and seconds when possible. The response takes the form of an immediate, primitive "squiggle" on paper. This "squiggle" is known as an ideogram. The ideogram captures the overall feeling/motion of the gestalt of the site (e.g., fluid/wavy for water). This response is kinesthetic and not visual. In Stage I visual images are noted and labeled as AOL [Analytical Overlay].
Stage II Sensory Contact: In Stage II the viewer is trained to become sensitive to sensations associated with the site. These sensations concern sounds, smells, tastes, textures, temperatures, and energies at the site. Although colors are perceivable, Stage II signals are essentially nonvisual in nature. As in Stage I, visual images are noted and declared as AOL.
Stage III Dimension, Motion, and Mobility: In Stages I and II, data typically appear to emerge as fragmented data bits. In Stage III we observe the emergence of a broader concept of the site. With Stage I and II data forming a foundation, more detailed data and dimensional aspects such as length, height, and distances, begin to appear. This increased contact is known as a "widening of the aperture". At this point contact with the site appears sufficiently strengthened that the viewer begins to have an overall appreciation of the site as a whole. This is known as an "aesthetic impact". After the viewer experiences an "aesthetic impact" the urge to draw the site begins. These drawings are expressed in the form of sketches, trackers (outlines of the general configuration of the site), and additional spontaneous ideograms. The final product of Stage I through Stage III training is the recognition of the overall gestalt and physical configuration of the site.
Stage IV General Qualitative Analytical Aspects: Because of the increased site contact that occurs in Stage III, in Stage IV data of an analytical nature begin to emerge. Contained in Stage IV data are elements that go beyond normal observational concepts. The ambience of the site such as military, religious, technical, or educational, can be expressed in Stage IV. Cultural factors such as Soviet, Muslim, or Arabic, and functional indicators such as power generation, BW research, or human research, can also be reported accurately in Stage IV. Stage IV is therefore the point where the viewer begins to become operational.
Stage V Specific Analytical Aspects by Interrogating the Signal Line: Many complex bits of data are produced during Stage IV. If during Stage IV the viewer attempts to probe or question the significance of this data it usually results in the production of AOL. The analytic functions of the viewer "try too hard" and fill in with logical but incorrect data. In Stage V however, special techniques are used to produce the more detailed information without triggering AOL.
Stage VI Three Dimensional Contact and Modeling: In Stage VI the viewer uses various materials to produce three dimensional representations of the site or specific elements at the site location. Materials such as clay, cardboard, and poster paper can be used to produce models of the specific structure at the site as well as the general configuration of the surrounding area. This construction is done with "feeling". The use of these materials is not simply an attempt to render a more exact representation of the site than can be done verbally, or by means of drawing. The kinesthetic activity appears to both quench AOL formation associated with purely cerebral processes, and to act as a trigger to produce further analytical content of the site, even concerning aspects not being specifically addressed by the modeling.

Icarus armor is an improvement over spider/wraith suit and Berserker armor is a better WAR suit. Viper suit is pretty much a better spider suit. Originally posted by -SG1-Shadowscall:Actually, with the Ruler armors, I don't make any of the proving ground armor anymore.

if you have a Psi, you don't really need it) and Hellfire Projector is an upgrade to the flamethrower but still pants. The rest vary - Plasma Blaster is basically a one-shot version of Null Lance from the Psi tree (nice, but. Honestly, you're best off just sticking with the default rocket launcher (which you get an infinite supply of).įrom Powered, Blaster Launchers and Shredstorm Cannons are the absolute business - shredding armour and blasting cover with a single shot (Blaster is a seeking missile of doom, Shredstorm is the hand of god that wipes away armour and cover in a massive cone). The Flamethrower has a tiny AoE and doesn't panic like XCOM:EW's one did, so it's a bit useless. The Shredder is ok but you might as well wait for it's bigger brother - the Shredstorm - from the Experimental Powered line. I don't know whether you mean Experimental or Experimental Powered - the second is the upgraded line.Įxperimental is Shredder Gun and Flamethrower. Worth it in my opinion.Įxperimental weapons are a mixed bag. But other than that, they're just better versions of Spider and EXO. Neither ability is that great though, Wraith's ability is situational and Shieldwall encourages the AI to throw grenades. The major difference at Tier 3 is that Wraith and W.A.R come with unique abilities - Wraith mode for Wraith (Phase through walls) and Shieldwall for W.A.R (become high cover for a squadmate). There's arguments for other classes to use them too. They're both worth of it for classes with conducive roles - Grenadiers do great with heavy and Snipers do great with light. Shen. The Wraith and W.A.R upgrades are Tier 3's equivalent to Spider and EXO armours, in that they're light and heavy variants of the the medium armour of the tier. I would hate for our forces to grow reliant on it despite our best intentions. I plan on advising the senior staff not to inform the troops of any perceived toughness associated with the suit. Initial trials show the armor to be capable of withstanding a direct hit from focused plasma at 5m, enough so to increase survivability by a substantial margin. In working towards that aim, our latest armor prototype utilizes more of the alien alloys than any we've previously assembled, and as expected the durability and potential for damage mitigation is extremely impressive. The success of this entire undertaking hinges on our ability to keep our soldiers healthy and ready for battle at a moment's notice. It should be incredibly strong, and able to withstand even direct hits from most alien weaponry.įrom what we've seen of the aliens' activities and their lack of regard for human life, preserving those of use that are still around has to become a task of equal importance to eliminating the alien threat itself. Having found various means of integrating the alien materials within designs better suited to our own troops, I think it may be possible to assemble armor made entirely of the recovered alloys and powered by an Elerium cell. The Powered Armor is a research project in XCOM 2.
