@somereaderinblue I chose Style B: Studio Ghibli!
It's not the greatest, but also not the worst attempt I've done at this style tbh. It could still be better, but I don't feel up for that and I think I actually prefer it like this lol

神様の町 -deserted town-
when i first saw this city i was both fascinated and scared, but as the story continued and all the hidden was revealed it began to seem so familiar and i didn't want to leave it at the end (´-ω-`)))。。
who knows, maybe i really lost a little fragment of my soul there and sometimes it calls for me to return?..

Watched Howl's Moving Castle!! (I LOVE Studio Ghibli!!) And honestly . . . Howl is so regressor codded.
His big whiny tantrum when his hair was dyed? Negative regressing because of a bad scenario (and honesty such a correct reaction, I'd be pissed too)
Sophie bringing him warm milk? Him having stuffies on his bed? All those little trinkets in his room? I saw a couple of toys in there (like a Jack in the Box)
Honestly, he's very much a flip, there are many CG and Regressor moments with him. I liked the movie, would recommend!! :D

Do you like Studio Ghibli movies? Why or why not? And if so, what are your favorites? I just watched Howl’s Moving Castle recently and, although it was hard to understand at first, after thinking it over some more I really enjoy the messages behind the character arcs. Thoughts?
I do like Studio Ghibli movies, because they're pretty and I like the way they make me feel! But, I don't often understand them. And other than Studio Ghibli, for that reason, I don't typically like to watch anime.
I always feel like I'm trying to understand something that's being spoken in a language I don't speak. I don't mean "Japanese" because obviously there are dubs and subtitles. I mean, a cultural language that I don't speak.
In movies made in the West, I can connect with the characters, dig deep and uncover their motivations, and then zoom back out and see whether the narrative is judging their motivations and decisions as "good" or "bad." I can tell what the storytellers are trying to say. I can empathize with the characters.
In anime, I can't. I find myself going, "why did they yell that line?" Or "is that facial expression and little gasp supposed to be embarrassed? Surprised? Aroused? Bemused? Distracted? All of the above? Why does it feel like it doesn't fit the situation at all?" Or "why is that character wearing that? None of those clothes fit their personality. But that doesn't seem to be the point of the clothes anyway, so what is the point of the clothes and character design in this culture?" Or "why in the name of all things holy has one fight between two characters taken this long?? Who cares? We get it, he doesn't know how to beat the demon, but then he figures out he just needs to execute a technique he's never practiced before." Then there's the immoral stuff that's not present in Ghibli but has been present in other anime I've seen--graphic oversexualization, particularly of children or cute childlike figures, or graphic violence for graphic violence's sake, etc.
I hate that the immoral stuff is the only thing clearly communicable across cultures.
Studio Ghibli feels a little closer to my "language" than any other anime I've tried. I particularly like Ponyo, and Spirited Away. I haven't seen Howl's Moving Castle, but I did read the book!
I hope that clears it up; sorry to disappoint!
