i don't want to push more into this subject, but since i'm seeing some sort of "celebration" towards ao3 being attacked and, therefore, offline, because some "nasty users won't be able to post their fanfictions"... i just want to say something.

as a member of lgbt community, knowing that this attack is pure hate/censorship against my existence and my friends' and everyone in the community, there's no way i can see any good in this attack because "problematic users won't be able to use it", because the targed aren't any problematic users, the target is me, my friends and many other people who has nothing to do with "problematic nasty users". the target is queer literature, queer expression, queer existence.

using this attack to celebrate that other problems of the website (that every website in this hell internet has) are down is just dumb, because those problems will be still running free and won't be confronted or erased with this attack, it'll still be there, untouchable. so, what's there to celebrate? a colateral effect that will endure some weeks? but at what cost, using queer people's existence?

i myself have my own problems with the website and i see many issues there that must be confronted on a daily basis, such as in every website, but this attack isn't the big win against these problems, cause in the end, those won't be fixed.

in the end, are us, the lgbt community, that'll be paying this price, that'll be erased, sidelined, excluded. and that is something i can't celebrate at all.
