Pittore di magnifico intelletto" in corso ai Granai di Villa Mimbelli e al piano terra del Museo Fattori è stata prorogata fino a domenica 17 marzo. Curata da Emanuele Barletti è la più ampia mostra antologica dedicata a Pietro Annigoni negli ultimi vent'anni, sulla scia della grande iniziativa monografica realizzata a Palazzo Strozzi a Firenze nel 2000 per celebrare l'artista dopo la scomparsa avvenuta nel 1988. Approfondimenti e scoperte inattese contribuiscono ad arricchire profili già noti ma pur sempre complessi e articolati. Anche questo appuntamento di Livorno si rivela un'occasione per proporre ulteriori analisi e riflessioni. Nei decenni centrali del Novecento, infatti, Annigoni, frequentava volentieri la città labronica dei vecchi e nuovi quartieri inscindibilmente legati al mare. Accanto a questa passione per il mare vissuta privatamente, nella mostra livornese emerge anche una dimensione pubblica che ha reso popolare l'artista. Annigoni era il pittore dei ritratti e anche degli autoritratti, banchi di prova delle proprie capacità tecniche ed espressive in gioventù e specchi dell'anima durante tutta la sua carriera. Celeberrimo è il ritratto che lo fece conoscere in tutto il mondo: quello fatto alla Regina Elisabetta II. L'esposizione è promossa da Comune di Livorno e Fondazione Livorno, con il patrocinio di Regione Toscana, la collaborazione di Fondazione CR Firenze e il contributo di Castagneto Banca 1910.
