“ what’s your opinion on trauma ? do you really think it’s better to talk about it ? ” it was so casual, grace just ASKED. maybe it was too casual — but, somehow, she doesn’t think that’s a thing when you’re sitting in your best friend’s apartment. sitting there as casually as you asked, a sprite in hand, leaning back on the couch, one leg up. gym shorts + a tanktop. she thinks ‘best friend,’ too like they haven’t been on literal dates. like they haven’t slept together. it’s the moment — trying to make it as casual as possible. god, dani’s aware of how many times she’s apologized but have they really ever talked about how much everything has affected them? probably not. they only clung to the remnants of the one last, normal, plausible, real thing before the desert. before legion. before the experiments. the sword tony stark gave to her is even in the corner of the room.
THE ONE LAST THING: each other. the way they somehow looked at each other like they’d have a lifetime. like a super terrorist organization wouldn’t kill their friends, like [ ... ] all these things. there’s a loose string on grace’s pants. she’s been lazily playing with that, blue eyes casually on that string.
